like literally actually fr trans women have been so empowering to me as someone who was always viewed as doing womanhood/girlhood wrong. i was ostracized and bullied by girls my age for not shaving, for not wearing makeup or for wearing weird makeup, for not wearing dresses, for being a lesbian. and trans women go out there and say “actually, no. those things aren’t what make me a woman. what makes me a woman is something else, something intrinsically inside of me, and even if i don’t look like that on the outside i’m still a woman.” like really being a woman isn’t something other people can determine for you! it’s just who you are. i still struggle with my identity and identify way more with just being a lesbian than being a woman due to my youth, but seeing trans women live authentically as themselves has really helped me embrace it in a way not centered just on what society tells me i have to be :’)

Uh. Well i mean no one better to describe then me!

Usually I wake up and eat some scrambled eggs with like seared hotdogs. The hotdogs are nice and flavorful and the eggs are a good bridge food to compact flavor. Cause to me eggs are like weirdly plain and just flavorless. But I have that with buttered toast, crunch salty and oh so good.

Then I get changed, walk my dog. She’s the softest and cutest pitbull you’ve ever seen. So sweet wouldn’t harm a fly. But the other day I try to play with her and her nails accidentally dig into my skin and like it hurts.

Recently I’ve been taking all my time to figure out how to stop this forsaken game from killing anyone else but it seems to have fallen flat. So I’ll probably go back to working full time. I’m not to sure. But being human is so much more then I could tell you in my day to day life.. I’m just a fraction of the human experience. Good and bad.

nope! kane would not have reacted to it in any special way. this is "the way it's supposed to be". had kane been about to hurt jim, thismay have given him pause, a sign the human is being respectful and behaving. but kane already wasn't planning on hurting jim in this moment.

Looking For Extinct Hominins' DNA In Modern Icelanders

A team of scientists from Aarhus University, deCODE Genetics, and the Max Planck Society looked for fragments of Neanderthal DNA in the genomes of more than 27,000 Icelanders. When they combined all the fragments they reconstructed at least 38 percent of a Neanderthal genome!

They then compared this new Icelandic Neanderthal DNA with other Neanderthal and Denisovan genomes, and found that the Neanderthal DNA in modern Icelanders is more similar to Neanderthal DNA found in Croatians than to Neanderthal DNA found in Russians. Icelanders were also found to carry traces of Denisovan DNA. Thismay have been transferred to modern humans via Neanderthals, whose ancestors mixed with Denisovans, then homo sapiens.

Examining the mutations in the Neanderthal DNA specifically, the researchers concluded that in general, Neanderthal children had older mothers and younger fathers than the modern humans. The researchers found that overall, Neanderthal DNA contributes to a slightly reduced risk of prostate cancer, slightly shorter height, and slightly faster blood clotting time for today's Icelanders.

I’m also considering starting each character with a Trauma-equivalent in Gravewalkers - that puts pressure on immediately, and adds yet another ticking clock, but I also want a core mechanic that allows you to heal from Trauma. Other FitD games say thismay be possible via Long-Term projects but don’t have it as a defined mechanic - probably to encourage it to be permanent.

Part of the setup is you’re conscript soldiers who were resurrected to fight a war over and over until your complete bodily destruction - reintegrating with your community after that, and healing emotionally, is something I want to emphasise. Also, since trauma-ing out will be the main way for PCs to become non-viable, I want a mecahnic to allow players to claw back some time. Since I already have two ticking clocks, I’m reasonably confident this won’t throw balance too out of whack.
