Thrush
Skywings are born completely covered down feathers to help insulate them as their 'flame' is still developing, of which they typically shed all their feathers as they reach maturity, leaving fully scaled adults. That being said it's not uncommon for adult skywings to be fully feathered. There have also been cases of a 'half n' half' skywing every now and then, partly feathered and partly scaled.

New painting I did of Hawk and her Thrush!
A new commission piece I painted of Aloy and Talanah. And by request from many of you in this amazing community, I finally put up an art shop. You can order this painting and all my Horizon art prints from my shop at:
Help a starving artist out and get yourself a print! ❤🙏😌 As a plus Inprnt is having 15% off! 👍❤
It really helps specially with the cost of food today and the tough game industry that us game devs are facing right now. 🙏
Thank you to everyone in this community for being so supportive. I will keep feeding you Horizon art and more. 💪☺❤

Also, not-great pictures of a hermit thrush. Exciting because for me seeing them marks the time when I go off about bird migration and think about not much else for about a month. RIP chores and focusing on anything but that!

February 19, 2024 - Usambara Thrush (Turdus roehli)
Found in northeastern Tanzania, these thrushes live in and around mountain and lowland forests. They eat insects, mollusks, nematodes, millipedes, spiders, small lizards, and fruit, foraging in leaf litter. Only three of their nests have been recorded, though they were not described, and their breeding season is thought to begin in late August or early September. Little else is known about their nesting habits. Classified as Near Threatened by the IUCN, their population is likely declining due to habitat loss in their tiny range.
