i literally think that was the best ep so far. i was worried that there was gonna be a lot of akk or ayan or both pulling back bc of the nightmare and kiss and then starting from scratch bc while it did fit the moment, it was also clear they werent ready for that kind of emotional connection yet. i was excited to see how they would bridge that gap together.

but now that i know the kiss was in akk's imagination? i somehow like it even more? because there is no pulling back from either of them. they got to have more gentle curiosity and care about each other and their relationship and trust got to grow ever the more gradually and ever the more smoothly. akk going to see what 1984's all about, ayan trying to fight his smile when he sees akk smiling at the beach, and akk noticing when ayan isn't around bc he's having a hard time. he doesnt know why, but he offers comfort to ayan again anyway, and ayan tries to fight it at first but then lets it go. like, those were such genuine moments. those were all so lovely. actual expressions of trust and allowing themselves to care, outside of the school setting. building the emotional connection they lacked. im not even mad about how the ep ended i kind of expected it. im just here to enjoy the ride, and i am enjoying it!

there's a cherry blossom tree in DC that keeps blooming every year even though it shouldn't and the park service keeps thinking it's dead and then it keeps blooming! well they're removing a lot of trees to rehabilitate the area and they've said it's finally time for stumpy to go and they're going to mulch it and use the mulch to enrich all the other trees so it can help everything else keep going. and they're also going to plant spliced little pieces of it all over so that stumpy can live forever and this is genuinely sending me into a spiral
