Doing a project for school, but my subject matter would be a little hard to do research on without a public census. So I'm posting it here to hopefully get a bigger range of information!
Seriously why is baldur’s gate 3 200GB I’ll probably get the game at some point in the future cause I know how good it is but I wish I could just get a version of the game with none of the high quality graphics installed in it even if It looked significantly worse because the graphics are absolutely not what I care about the most when playing the game.
I’ve said this before but Ives said it again the entire triple A games industry should go back to making games that have graphics similar to the PS3 and Xbox 360 because video game file size and graphics requirements have made a lot of amazing triple A modern games inaccessible to a lot of people.
I have decided I'm making hostility towards triple A games and game studios my personality trait
I used to be passively negative, mostly out of disinterest and limited budget.
But I'm so fucking done
Not only has there been no major triple A game that had a smooth launch in YEARS
But apparently they're also committed to making past stuff actively worse, because how dare you enjoy a 10 year old game, pay us money for the new shitty one that won't run on your computer because we inflated the hardware requirements into the stratosphere.
You'll see me dead before you see me giving any more money to this garbage industry. The best gaming experiences are from independent studios, and have been for a very long time.
At The Game Awards last year, Sega revealed it would be reviving a handful of classic franchises for modern platforms.
If you are wondering just how impressive these titles might be, it seems the third-party publisher and developer could be going all out. During a chat with The Japan Times, the team at Sega's relatively new Sapporo Studio mentioned how it was "participating in the development of Triple-A titles, including Crazy Taxi".
Crazy Taxi was part of Sega's original legacy revival announcement, which also includes the return of Jet Set Radio, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Shinobi. Several other games also appear to be on the way.
Right now, Sapporo Studio isn't working on any titles independently but does "intend to do so" in the future. It was originally founded in December 2021 during the pandemic and is led by Takaya Segawa.
Sega has previously revealed how its new legacy revival series is "now in development" with the same projects expected to be released in the coming years. You can learn more about what Sega might have planned in our previous coverage here on Nintendo Life.
at this point when I want to play a big triple A title, unless I'm 100% sure it's gonna be good on launch I just wait a couple months after release because that's when then the devs will actually be allowed to fully finish the thing.
Not that there is even that many Triple A titles I'm interested in anyway but it's really annoying that this fix it with an update (or don't even fix it) is so wildly used.
Honestly unsure I'll buy GTA 6 when it comes out or at all if they treat modders the way they currently have.
And especially if GTA 6 is a singleplayer campaign used to piggyback in a disgusting hypercapitalist shitfest hacker ridden bullshit online mode so they can suck money out of children.
Idk. Im barely tolerating playing GTA V single player cause it doesnt have any of that shit, but at the same time, it disgusts me that gta online even exists. It's the same shit that Valve, the worst game company to exist, did with like no longer making games and just making fucking hats for team shit-gameplay 2, or similar and it reminds me a lot of the absolute bullshit the overkill devs did with payday 2 instead of making a newer, better game
And the microtransactions! Even Payday Fuckass Tenthousand DLC 2 didn't do that garbage!
Rockstar builds these huge and detailed open worlds and shit, like in Red Dead Re:Cutscene 2, and then takes player control away constantly, removes features, addds features single players want but only if you play their ass and shit online mode and buy forty-five shart cards so you can afford one motorcycle not made of tissue paper only to get hit from orbit with a tungsten rod fired from satellite by a hacker.
It's not just a bad online mode, it's fucking EMBARRASSING.
TBF, unless there's big changes, fuck GTA 6 and fuck rockstar.
Triple A game devs really out there showing their asses, huh?
"BaLdUr'S gAtE 3 sHoUlDn'T bE tHe StAnDaRd"
And why the hell not? Why shouldn't players expect more than half-finished, bug-filled games with tons of microtransactions? Why should they settle for playing regurgitated copies of whatever games have been popular for the past ten years when they could be playing games that the devs were actually passionate about making?
When you have access to a bigger budget and more resources than Larian did when they made BG3, what's your excuse for shipping a broken, half-assed mess of a game?
