Mallow is so autistic coded to me it’s unreal. Y’all can see it differently ofc but for me it’s like!! AAA that’s me!! She’s me!! So many of her experiences and the way she carries herself is so like me irl and I was diagnosed before the age of 10 so I’m kinda basing it off of my own personal experiences;

• She’s very loud at times, seeming to have little control over her volumes when riled up in any way, pos or neg; she kinda gets in peoples’ personal spaces or faces without realizing esp when really happy — she’s also very excitable and i’d say she’d absolutely stim if they showed it. She also can indirectly talk condescending in her tone sometimes even when she’s being her nicest, and shows clear confusion and misunderstanding when something someone says doesnt make sense to her (more often than the others to me)

• She can have a bit of a temper but it’s in short bursts and clearly when she’s confused or overwhelmed; she’s seen storming off “in a huff” several times; one with her mother as a child during a flashback when she was confused and upset that her mother was apologizing so much for being sick (looked to be 3-5y) and with her father in an earlier episode as of show age where he made her mad. She does so when she can’t process how she feels (besides “not happy”) and it’s hard to confront her emotions head on, she’d rather avoid it or run away for a while first

• Mallow was behind the rest of her classmates almost at all times even while being kept up and tagging along. She was the last to get both a zring and a zcrystal out of everyone including Sophocles, and the last one to perform a zmove both entirely and also correctly. She’s able to observe and physically keep up with her friends the whole show, but lacks the skills necessary mentally in comparison. She’s incredibly smart & very observant, very detail oriented, but learning new skills is challenging — seeing as Bounsweet evolved twice trying to protect her against TR instead of actually learning battling stuff or even their own goal skills

• She hyperfixates!! Technically everyone does as they all have goals (but ash also reads as autistic to me too as ash myself though) in the show like Lana perfecting balloons, etc; but Mallow seems to only focus on her abilities, passion, and special interest in food & cooking almost at a constant. While the others learn other skills and practice new things. She’s also indirectly learning new things at the school and with her friends, and bonding with Tsareena each day like everyone, but her goals and reasons for doing anything on her own are for her family’s restaurant and towards her fixation with new recipes

• there’s probably more things like being routine oriented, not engaging sometimes when everyone else is participating (watching/observing and experiencing by existence), lots of self doubt and bursts of adrenaline based confidence in a pinch, etc!

And that’s my mini rant and essay on why & how Mao’s autistic; I definitely was in my canons, and it helps me bc I’m Literally Her irl,, thank you, 💚🌺

I'm reading It right now in honor of the new movie and in several months now I've only progressed to maybe page 150 bckdndksmc Favorite flower: hydrangeas, orchids, morning glories, queen annes lace, lavender, impatiens. I love pressing them, we have lots of pretty wild flowers here. Blue and purple morning glories climb the corn stalks in the field behind my yard Favorite scent: basically anything fruity, cotton candy, frosting, fall-scents. Not sure how I would describe it but my favorite scent from B&B is called Love and Sunshine ☀️ Favorite color(s): I literally love every color so much....... there are so many tones and hues of every simple one!! I'm indulgent with greens/ blues/ purples/ pinks but I also rly love orange/ yellow/ black Favorite animal(s): all? But I love looking at and designing after octopuses, nudibranchs, spiders, beetles, butterflies, deer, goats, basically anything hooved, anteaters... I could literally go on and on lol Coffee, tea or hot cocoa: the only TEA tea I'll drink is raspberry, but I really like match frappucinos/ lattes from starbucks Sleep hours: ha ha Cat or Dog: im scared of dogs : ( Favorite fictional character(s): literally all my friends ocs. Also my ocs. Also mimes and clowns Dream trip: Honduras, Germany, Japan, S Korea, India, Pakistan, Venezuela, Brazil, France, I've got too many lol. I'd love if even in the next few years I could go back to Vegas with @meancuties again! 💖 When did I make this blog: mmmm I made my previous one just before my accident so about two years ago, I think I started this one.... just one year ago? I've been on tumblr since my last year of middle school tho so coming up on about 8 years lmao barf Number of followers: several hundred on this one, honestly not something I worry about too much bc I have so many sideblogs/ tend to jump around a bit hhhhh i dont even know twenty people so if you read this youre a target @meancuties @moniqho @carnespecter @deerbait @classychassiss @weremime and anybody else who wants

id really recommend askin for stimboards off anon- like I typically don't delete requests unless it's smth I don't like (or it's red), but it Does take around a month usually for me to gather the spoons to make some boards since I'm always on Tumblr mobile. u might miss it is all I'm saying, cause it takes me so long.
