Wait hold on I don't watch BBH but you're telling me literally every negative thing I've seen said about him on Twitter for months has just been straight up misinformation except for him being friends with someone who said weird shit?

Xenophobia: "You uncultured swine" - popular american culture phrase I've heard him use before when talking to friends and I myself used a few years ago when it was most prominent. Said at an inoppurtune time and was apologized for.

Homophobic: Was the first person who Antfrost came out to, friends with so many gay people, respects all pronouns (ever heard of the good ole bbh they/them beam? He often uses it when he doesn't know someone's gender, most recently used for Chun-sik because Bad didn't know Chun is a boy) is fine with being called they.

Transphobic: haven't seen anyone call him this at all but in case they have there is no evidence for this. I dare you.

Racist: Back when he played "It Takes Two" with Skeppy he made a comment about a character with a thick Mexican accent reminding him of Skeppy. Not even hours later he heavily apologized for his comment and said it wasn't an appropriate one at all. Not to bring up past conflicts but I think his recognition of what is defined as a weird comment and willingness to change and adjust behaviour is pretty swag.

Racist Chat: The one guy who had monkey emojis Rurus uncovered that that guy just liked using the monkey emoji to portray their own emotions, and did not use it when referring to other cc's at all. As of now the mods are still waiting for evidence of these phantom chatters and are accepting clips and screenshots to find and ban these people if they even exist.

Hates Women: Never heard this either. This guy has an extremely positive relationship with literally every active female cc on the server. Green flag if you ask me.

Can't believe I have to say this, but. People. Behaviour like this is not okay.

Even foregoing the fact that I am not even Russian - this is fucked up on so many levels. Russian people - especially young fandom teenagers, which this person seems to think I am, which this person seems to be targeting - are not responsible for the war, nor are they capable of stopping it. Bullying people on the Internet to jerk off doesn't make you a hero that Ukrainians need right now. Russian-speaking Ukrainians exist and are prevalent in many Eastern regions of the country. People can be multilingual. Russian people do not equal Putin. Harassment is never okay. Coming back to comment again after your comment has been deleted is not okay. Xenophobia is never okay.

What the fuck.

what actually happened? I used to be big into btd, joined gato’s server briefly when tpof was in development, but haven’t paid to actually stay in the server, so i just see the announcements that it’s closing in 2 days

Hey! I’m glad you reached out to ask. A lot of people are in the dark, it seems to be that way when someone’s fave gets accused of excusing bigotry/g/nm. That being said, I’m going to lay out everything that’s been made public first, and then add in my own thoughts and things I’ve noticed.

The News:

As posted here a member(who I will be calling spieler in reference to their twt handle, and for privacy of their other accounts) of the patreon server(which I was also a member of up until news broke) reached out to Gatobob regarding untoward comments made to them by a mod, Melon who was a prevalent member of the fan community but also has a history of making members uncomfortable enough to leave server. Spieler operated under the assumption of good faith based on the language of the message and based on what myself and others had seen in mutual servers with them. The story develops in the thread and the two ensuing ones linked here and here detailing Gatobob’s handling of the situation. Reminiscent of but FAR worse than her handling of the Carnivorekitty situation. She knew spieler was going to reach out, it is implied she was aware of Melon’s subpar apology, minimized the situation to the fan’s face, and unrelatedly Spieler experienced enough harassment from diehard fans to not feel comfortable in the fandom space anymore.

Reports from members in server prior to its closure confirm that Melon was active until the very end, and did not face consequences for the frankly unacceptable comments made, which were far more than “cringe on main”.

My Thoughts:

Given how she didn’t bother handling the Carnivorekitty situation, and was more focused on smoothing things over here than anything, I’m not shocked. Frustrated and disappointed? Deeply. But it’s definitely a pattern of behavior to weaponize mental health(whether her own or others, as shown in Spieler’s threads), to shut down conversation on these serious matters, and that she doesn’t act like it’s her responsibility to curate a space reflective of her “good values”. It’s really hurtful and evidently untrue, it is the responsibility of a creator to manage the space their fans occupy to create a zone as free of bigotry as possible. Anything less than an enthusiastic FUCK NO to any kind of xenophobia is complacency. She did not boot Tom when he derrided the POC and LGBT+ fans that gave her this platform and this income. She did not remove Melon when confronted with the hurtful and unnecessary commentary she made, and instead allowed the pattern to continue for the duration of the server’s life span. Protect yourselves and take your money to someone who cares about their fan community, and won’t shut it down when confronted with serious issues.

I would like to make it very clear I disavow Gatobob’s actions, the people who harassed Spieler on her behalf should feel ashamed, and no party in this deserves harassment.

I just think maybe I’m tired of creators not doing better, and yet again my trust was ill placed.

After the first Republican debate, I am legitimately terrified of the 2024 election. I can't believe that Pence, someone who is so fucking homophobic and transphobic, looked like the more logical ones. I hate that the one person who spoke about believing in climate change and sending funds to Ukraine quotes Margaret Thatcher. I hate that Desantis literally said that he would shoot immigrants trying to cross the southern border and kill them and that the crowd fucking cheered.

I think what really fucking frustrates me is that even though anyone charged with a felony cannot vote, and that being a massive tool of voting suppression towards poor people and Black people, someone with over 90 can be president. I think that everyone should be able to vote no matter the circumstance, and I am not against Trump being the president because of his felonies; I'm against it because he's the definition of a fascist. I am pissed that the same party that is dead set on continuing to use the criminal justice system to keep millions of people from voting is also the one with this fucker as the top runner.

I hate knowing things! I wish I was as much of a dumbass as I make myself out to be! Fuck!

BASICS.

𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄. Huỳnn Loan Phượng The name on Nadia's birth certificate is her family name, Huỳnn, her middle name, Loan and her given name, Phượng. The luan is a deified bird across East Asian mythology, often representing an omen of peace to come and virtue. The phượng hoàng (pictured in the banner art of this post) is commonly referred to as the "Chinese phoenix," a composite creature made up several birds (which often change) and other animals. Its body represents celestial bodies and the 5 fundamental colors of its feathers represent the 5 virtues of Confucius. While it does not bear many similarities to the Western phoenix, there is an association with fire, as it is said to have been born of the sun and is commonly depicted with a fireball. It is a positive symbol, often an omen of peace, prosperity, and happiness, but also represents loyalty and honesty.

Nadia Atalanta Growing up in middle America in the late eighties/nineties meant that Nadia was encouraged to pick an "American" name that was "easier" for American teachers and friends to pronounce. Nadia was chosen from a list of names her first grade teacher had (a little dated, as she believes "Nadia" was there due to the popularity of Nadia Comăneci in the seventies). Atalanta was the call sign given to Nadia when she joined MTF Delta-5. In Greek mythology, Atalanta is associated with Jason and the Argonauts and was a disciple of Artemis. Prior to those adventures, she refused to marry unless her suitor could best her in a footrace.

𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐒. None. Some of the more childish members of MTF Xi-13 took to calling her "Nads." She provides her current surname, "Atalanta," when asked her preference. (She will be rolling her eyes at all of their new call signs and will probably be huffy about responding to "Live Wire.") If you call her Nadia, well...you had better be Dying Breed.

𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐈𝐌. Levy Tran

𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒. A long-healed scar around the left side of her chin not quite reaching her bottom lip; a deep scar that looks like gouged claw marks at the center of her abdomen and trailing off toward her left hip; an uneven circle of puncture scars around her right shoulder that sure does look like something bit her...but what has a mouth that large? She's usually seen with her shoulder-length hair done in twin French braids, tight, down the back of her head. When not in tactical or field gear, she's likely to be wearing a sweatshirt or flannel that doesn't seem to fit right, too large and for a more masculine frame (these items belonged to her brother).

𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐎𝐎𝐒 / 𝐏𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒. She has two piercings in both ear lobes but rarely wears anything in them. No tattoos, despite Levy Tran's extensive artwork. Nadia is still living by the regulations of MTF Delta-6 and undercover best practices.

𝐙𝐎𝐃𝐈𝐀𝐂. Aquarius Sun, Scorpio Moon, Taurus Rising. All Nadia knows is that she’s an Aquarius and that makes her an air sign. Anything beyond that is out of her range.

He was a researcher primarily focused on habitation of anamolies in containtment. His death was the result of a fatal containment breach and the official ruling is that Mark's lack of adherence to protocol caused said breach. As you may imagine, Nadia does not believe this and has tried to discover anything she can about the incident.

EXTRAS.

𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐘. Nadia was recruited into The Foundation directly out of upper-education, concurrent with her brother, Mark, in the greater Chicago metro area. Both Nadia and Mark excelled quickly, she in field work and infiltration and he in research and containment. Mark would eventually become respected within the Experimental Containment Research group and Nadia would be assigned to Mobile Task Force: Delta-5: “Front Runners.”

The majority of her career was spent with Delta-5. There, she proved intelligent, adept, and obedient. She expressed a deep satisfaction for the work within MTF Delta-5 and it has been reported from multiple supervisors throughout this time that Nadia was one of the brightest operatives they had seen in an age. The general consensus was that she would achieve MTF Commander at an exceptionally young age.

In 2017, Mark entered into a routine encounter with an anomaly that would prove fatal. Officially, the Foundation maintains that failure to adhere to protocol led to Mark’s death. Nadia vehemently disagrees, as Mark was always meticulous. Directly following his death, inquiries were made and the initial decision was upheld. Nadia has refused to accept the Foundation’s explanation. Most information and files related to his death and the incident have been expunged and data-locked.

Following 3 months of leave, Nadia returned to active duty. Her discipline had collapsed and her behavior became erratic and dangerous. There were numerous disciplinary warnings and write-ups, culminating in the incident with a member of GoI-004: “Church of the Broken God,” where Nadia deliberately sabotaged her cover to enter into an unprovoked physical altercation. She was reassigned to Mobile Task Force Xi-13: “Sequere Nos” as a consequence. There was a successful, largely uneventful year with MTF Xi-13 – and then the encounter with SCP-19-2001-1.

Nadia’s assignment has been in flux for the past year since the encounter with SCP-192001-01. Directly following the incident, she was remanded to 6 months of medical leave. An additional 3 months of mental health leave was recommended, but Nadia declined. Since returning from leave, she has been working in the Department of Decommissions.

𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒. Paragon, Fallen Nadia used to be an exemplar within the Mobile Task Forces, particularly MTF Delta-5. She rose through ranks fast and easy, enjoying her work and eager to gain her own command. That's all in shambles, now, but it if your character has been through MTFs, they may have heard about Atalanta, or any of her triumphs from the earlier days. If not, there's still the chance that your character worked with MTF Xi-13 and could have encountered the current shade of Nadia. Personal Project Nadia is still desperate to find out exactly what happened to her brother. I can definitely see her picking the brains of anyone who might have information, whether about that specific incident or just containment and breaches in general. Hand-to-Hand When she's not avoiding everyone in her room, Nadia will likely be training in the gym facilities. While she prefers to train solo, she also loves to spar and practice combat. If your character is a fighter, or would like to be, they could potentially cross on the mat. Wilderness Scouts Nadia has not joined the Walking Club (Seriously?), but she is often wandering through the wooded area around the base. While she is absolutely looking for solitude on these treks (with the rare exception being made for Dying Breed), your character could encounter her and, if they're quiet, they may just be allowed to walk with her.

Accidents happen, don't they?

Characters: Wales, England, Scotland, Ireland

Warnings: Talk of xenophobia, colonization, arson, and intrusive thoughts

Notes: I'm ok i promise, i very rarely write truly unhinged stuff and this really isn't that bad. It is all under a cut for a reason though, and i am only posting it for @the-heaminator. I wrote this forever ago, and i don't feel like editing it so whatever it is, it is.

Dylan's life had been hell since the Romans showed up.

It had gotten marginally better, then worse, so much worse. The damn Germanic tribes that showed up were worse than the Romans, they didn't just want to conquer the area they wanted everyone else gone. They wanted everything for themselves. The anger he felt at being called a stranger on his own land was worse than anything else, everyone he knew was gone 'England' taking their place. The first time he met William he thought maybe they could work things out, maybe they could agree to leave each other alone. That couldn't happen either though could it? The Englishman was no better than the tribes that had come, he was the same, he was worse. And he was proud of being worse, he took Wales, then Scotland, and Ireland. He took a third of the world, disposing of anyone who got in his way.

Dylan eventually decided he had to agree with William or get out of his way, agreeing and at least being seen, even if it was barely, was better then being pushed off to the side completely. That's not how it worked though? Even if you did everything in your power to corporate, he still treated you like trash. The flag of the United Kingdom, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. No Wales in sight.

Dylan remembered Angus leaving back in 1607, he couldn't deal with William anymore. He went to Jamestown, Dylan had wanted to leave but both of them couldn't go. 'Go Angus, I'll be fine' Why did he tell him to go? Dylan questioned everyday why he didn't instead.

Then one day James Cook was leaving, Dylan didn't tell anyone. He didn't utter a word to a soul, he left a note. Hidden enough that it wouldn't be found immediately, clear enough that someone would find it in a few days. He sailed around the world for three years; he felt the most free he had been in over a thousand years. No one could find him, especially William. When the time came that he had to go home, he didn't want to. Three years, everyone on the voyage was exhausted and homesick. Dylan wanted to stay out there, he wanted to keep sailing and never have to return to London; never have to return to the beck and call of England. He seriously considered hopping off at a random port, far away from Europe. If he hid well enough it would take decades for anyone to find him, the empire was expanding though. The crown would find him eventually, and the punishment would not be something that made it worth it.

Angus had gotten too close to Alfred, enough that the small boy called him dad, William found a way to have him locked up for seven years. Seven years because a colony called someone besides England dad. Seven years in prison, on top of being suddenly separated from... from his own child, then the Darien Scheme failing: Angus hadn't always been an alcoholic. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise. Dylan didn't want to imagine what decades of disappearing would be punished with, if a three letter word from a toddler meant that much.

Three years was bad enough, he got back to a scolding from someone half his age. Then the King was mad at him, Dylan swore this many people had never even paid attention to him before. William was snappier at him after all of that, he never gave him a break. Said he had to make up for galavanting across the world instead of tending to his duties as an independent nation. Dylan had to stop himself from laughing in his half-brother's face; Wales? An independent nation? Why had no one informed him that he was one?

"You're lucky, Dylan"

He could hear Molly's voice in his head. She had told him that during the great hunger, she had shown up in London solely because Angus had promised to lend her some money so she could go to the US to stay with their nephew until things got better–if they even did–. Why? He had thought to himself, because he wasn't currently starving? Because he wasn't having to flee his home? He wasn't living in his own land though was he? London wasn't his. He had been mad at her for saying that for far too long.

Dylan knew most people didn't wish for bad things to befall other people, he wasn't even sure where the idea came from. He just knew one night he was sitting in bed, the window was open blowing the curtains a little too close to a candle that sat on a table. The first thought was rational,

"I need to either blow out the candle, or close the window, or the house might burn down"

The second thought, the small voice in the back said

'Or Angus isn't home, he won't be for a long time' Dylan was almost confused himself as to where the thought might be going. 'You could get Fiachra and go on an errand, William is sleeping, if the house happened to catch on fire and he didn't get out in time, what could be done?'

Dylan wanted to say terribly that he didn't consider the thought, he wanted to say that he almost didn't get up to get his shoes and coat. He wanted to say that he wasn't in the doorway, shoes on and coat tucked under his arm; about to go get Fiachra and make something up about a late night grocery store run: before finally realizing he was insane. Half-running across the room and blowing out the candle quickly.

You can't do that. He had to say it to himself over and over and over while putting his shoes and coat back in his closet.

He had to repeat it to himself the next morning when he turned on the stove.

He had to tell it to himself the next week when they lit the fireplace for the first time in the season.

He had to remind himself whenever he lit a cigarette, and stared at the flame on the lighter a little too long.

Something in the back of his mind always said though; "accidents happen? Don't they?"

and if a candle was forgotten, and William was asleep in his room, Alone in the house, it would be counted as an accident.

Wouldn't it?

obviously the brutality of mina being assaulted by dracula was on purpose for like, horror purposes (and just as obviously a rape metaphor), but it really also drives home the bigotry inherent in a character like dracula. he eats babies, "lizard fashion", the indoctrination aspect of vampirism, he straight up tells the hunter squad that he's there in london to use their women to serve him as he pleases. it is not subtle AT ALL, and i'm shocked (though I guess i shouldn't be) that it seems to have gone over a lot of people's heads in pop-culture.

dracula, a foreigner, arrives in england with the specific intent to rape and indoctrinate women and Infect Society. the brutality of that scene was on purpose, for more than one reason.

Buzz released the still-gasping man’s throat and glanced at Leech. Overalls Two was on the floor, crawling backward from Leech.

“You’re Russian?”

Leech was fully awake now.

Buzz nodded. Leech frowned.

“Why didn’t ya tell me?”

“Didn’t think it was important,” he said. He really didn’t.

Leech stared at his knees like they had personally wronged him.

“Well I could, I don’t know, get you — tea, or somethin’,” he said. “What do Russians like?”

“Don’t drink tea much, anymore,” he said, because he really didn’t.

“Huh,” Leech said.

Back to Tumblr again, as it goes, I had to leave X.

It’s horrid. The things on there are scary and it’s not even edtwt, it’s what’s being pushed on the tl, it seems like a horror movie as a woman. Especially as a survivor, but even more as a decent human.

The way interactions are always so grotesque, and they all are so stupid and misinformed. Purposely misinterpreting meaning and misleading statements that make their followers feel like they are normal for having retched thoughts of harming others, going to war, laughing about SA and harassment.

Psychopaths beating up people with disabilities and not a single one steps up to protect them, videos of people actually dying and not a single TW. It breaks my heart that I even witnessed this happening, and all I can do is leave and come to tumblr. I can’t imagine how people can be so cruel.

Reasons why everyone should stop supporting jk Rowling and the hp books whether you are a TERF or not: (this list is in no particular order)

She racially justified slavery within the universe and said that they shouldn't be released from said slavery because they are simply happier as slaves (every character who tries to free them is mocked for it)

The goblins play into Jewish stereotypes. Greedy bankers with large noses. And then they start stealing children to drink their blood in the latest video game which is quite literally blood libel

The constant insistence that the safest place for a child is with blood relatives, no matter how abusive they are

Half the hogwarts staff literally abuse the children and its always played off as a joke unless it's Snape or Umbridge

Assigning 11 year olds to their personality traits forever, including "brave main character" "nerd" "evil future nazi" and "other"

Children labelled as slytherin are open ground for bullying. Not once does anyone think "maybe we can stop the nazi indoctrination now"

There are only a few types of girls: Not Like Other Girls TM, mother, evil bitch, and strange but quite. Rarely are any of these characters given any more in depth analysis beyond this trait

Owls are in invasive species where Hogwarts is but it's the coolest pet to have

All of the canoncially fat people are Evil (Umbridge, Pettigrew, Pansy to name a few)

The Weasleys are Irish stereotypes. Literally sound like weasels and have a shit ton of kids that they can barely afford to feed

All of the wizards think of muggles and squibs as inferior and that belief is racially justified. Even characters like Mr Weasley who supposedly love muggles thinks they are cute in the way you find a strange animal cute

Muggle and Mudblood are thrown around by the fandom as an insult as of the same wasn't done by the literal NAZIs in the original text

Severus Snape is both a child abuser and literal nazi, but we are supposed to forgive him because he had a crush on Harry's mom and did One nice thing foe Harry

Hagrid keeps bringing in dangerous invasive species to his home on school property. Every single time this is laughed off as an "oh you"

Voldemorts crime is never his superiority complex over muggles and mudbloods, but the fact that he wants to eliminate all of them. Again, it is textually justified to have this superiority complex

Harry literally owns a fucking slave which is justified by the slave preferring the more abusive owners and, if he had his way, going to the literal nazis to rat the main trio out

Her AIDS metaphor is so botched it's fucking disgusting. Remus was raped at a young age and now has to take medicine so he isn't a threat for raping more children. AIDS is seen as something that makes you inherently dangerous and society is justified for shunning those with the disease

Harry literally named his "favorite" child after two of his biggest fucking abusers becuase they helped him a little and that is supposed to overrule all of the abuse

Cho Chang and Kingsley Shacklebolt are the names of two real characters which are totally not racist names at all (/sarcasm)

Cho is considered to be hysterical and an idiot for grieving her boyfriend who was murdered on a public stage and how could she not love Harry

Native Americans are portrayed as idiots who must be helped to realize their full potential by colonizer boarding schools

Snape calling Harry's mom a literal slur is seen as misguided flirting and not absolutely fucking disgusting

Hermione kept a whole ass human being in a fucking jar because she was a gossip journalist
