The Spotlight is Nothing Without You

(Just a scene I thought of for the JP event that's going to drop in 3 days XD)

Grim was practically shaking from excitement. In just a few minutes, he was going to perform as the big star of the show. He could hear the audience on the other side of the curtain clapping and cheering for the current small act. It sounded like a full house, and he couldn't wait to receive their praises and applause.

Unbeknownst to him, the Prefect of Ramshackle was running for their life. Yuu had told Grim that they would be right back and he told them to hurry back ASAP, they were his assistant afterall. He didn't seem worried about what they might be doing, but Yuu didn't doubt he would freak out if they told him they were seeing if Fellow and Gidel were up to something. Yuu had been around enough schemers to recognize certain glints in the eyes, and they were sure Fellow had something awful planned.

Unfortunately, they were right. And now, they were fleeing from mind-controlled lackeys while simultaneously running to Grim to get him out of danger.

Cords and ribbons brushed against their upper arm or back every so often, pushing them to keep running (they couldn't go any faster than their current speed, sadly) and hoping that they wouldn't get caught. They passed countless halls where cheers and laughter errupted and delved in and out of hidden corridors crammed with stacked crates and forgotten decorations. They were taking the long way to the backstage area to loose the lackeys, but it was becoming increasingly clear that that wasn't going to happen. They tried calling for help, tried yelling the Leechs' names and Jack's name when they spotted familiar teal hair or white wolf ears, but their voice got drowned out by the sounds of merrymaking and jeers and whoops of bystanders. "Run, robber, run!" "Police, after them!"

Up a staircase and around some corners, Yuu felt relief when they spotted Grim. They took a deep breath in--

--and suddenly got yanked back.

A ribbon had snatched their arm and more wrapped around their limbs and mouth as they were dragged down a side hall. Yuu wildly thrashed around and their panic mounted the further they were from Grim. They were so close, they couldn't let their cat turn into a god damn puppet!

Yuu somehow managed to rip off the ribbon around their mouth. "GRIM! RUUUUN!" they yelled with all their might just before the ribbon replaced itself.

At the curtain's edge, Grim's ears twitched and he turned around. He could've sworn he heard something. Anyway, where was his henchman? It must almost be time for his debut--!

"Hey, you're on in 3 minutes!" It was one of the circus staff. "I can't wait to see what you do. A mage from the famous Night Raven College showcasing his skills for us is bound to be a treat."

"Hehe, by the end of tonight, you'll want me to stay!" Grim boasted.

The circus staff member smiled. "Oh, I hope so."

"By the way, have you seen my henchman around?"

"Henchman. . . ?"

"You know, the one with the same hat as me!"

"Ooohh! Yeah, they went with some others from your school to sit in the audience."

"They what?!" That didn't sound like them at all. He told them to come back ASAP, they knew he needed them--ahem, he needed an assistant. They would never abandone him at the drop of a hat!

He turned around. "Grrr. . . when I find my henchman--"

The words died in his throat. The staff member said something he didn't hear. At one of the side halls, the brim of a hat stuck out. He hurried over to investigate and was filled with dread to find that it was Yuu's hat. What was it doing here?

"Grim!" The staff member stood over him, a little fretful. "It's time for you to go on stage."

"I. . . I can't. I need to find my henchman."

"But I just told you they were in the audience. Come on, you can't leave them waiting."

Grim was suddenly frozen with indecision. On one hand, he didn't want to miss his debut and disappoint his henchman watching in the audience, but on the other, he had a really bad feeling and finding their hat here seemed proof of something amiss. Finally, he looked up at the staff member. Despite expressing concern, there was no actual care behind those eyes. In fact, there was something a little dark about them, like Jade's eyes when he and the others got roped into working for Azul.

He backed up before high-tailing it out of there, the staff member asking where he was going. "I have to find my henchman!"

"But you're the star!"

Something happened to his henchman and he needed to save them. Anyway, if he actually was throwing away his chance of being on center stage, it wouldn't matter if his henchman wasn't by his side.

Yes, he did!

In Scary Monsters 2 (Endless Halloween Night) Chapter 4-8, Jade gleefully recounts to Ruggie and Ortho a story of when Riddle came to Octavinelle in order to adhere to one of the Rules of the Queen of Hearts.

Rule 124: If your body becomes completely soaked, you must run under the ocean to dry yourself off.

Riddle had just gotten caught in a downpour, so in order to follow this rule, he traveled to Octavinelle, got the permission from the Dorm Leader (not Azul, as this occurred halfway through their first year), and proceeded to run around the Octavinelle lounge for 6 hours until he dried off completely.

Halloween is (almost) here! And it happens to one of Kyuu’s favourite holidays- an excuse to scare the tourists that are wondering the campus, no? Kyuu’s gonna have a blast giving scares to the children running amok, though you might have to reel him in when he goes a little too far. He certainly has no shame in teaming up with Jade in some harmless fun.

Idle 2: Have you seen anyone else's costumes yet? The concept’s this year are wonderful, I’m particularly impressed by Diasmonia. Though, if theres any unique costume you should see, Honey’s is certainly worth checking out. 

Idle 3: I would watch your back Prefect~ Jade and I have made some simply wonderful plans for this year. I’m well aware it’ll only help the Lounge, but I work there as well after all. Plus, who wouldn’t love to have some fun?

Home Login: Are you prepared for today’s festivities? It certainly wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say Halloween might be the student body’s favourite holiday of the year.

Tap: Our dorm’s costumes are the best, right? I’m proud of Deuce and Cater for putting this all together, Deuce especially. He’s really getting the hang of organizing this kinda stuff. It’s enough to make Riddle satisfied, that’s for sure.

Tap 2: The origins of Halloween are certainly interesting, I know it’s dangerous but I would love to meet those malicious ghosts. I wonder if our costumes could actually scare them off, hm?

Tap 3: **Sigh** Cater told me I’m “totes getting way to into this” again. Who can blame me for decorating our dorm for Halloween as well!? Ok, maybe all the bat and skeleton themed candles were a bit exessive.

Tap 5: Another child got lost in the crowds, I feel a little offended that they immediately latched onto me for help. Did I not look scary enough? No matter, I suppose it’s better that I look approachable enough to help the kids, even if it’s a little wounding to my pride.

If you're interested, I've used a few legends.

"Grimm" - is in some legends dogs that guard cemeteries from grave robbers and in general uninvited people that either got lost or are eager to disturb the peace of the deceased.

"Blue lights" is a light or in some cases a spirit, very mischievous, according to this light some lost people can find the right way, or get lost completely and will not be able to find the right path for a very long time.

Since Yuu/Prefect "theoretically" has no soul from the words of the Dark Mirror. She can be a guide for other "lost" - NRC students. That in pursuit of their desires and aspirations, they are lost and cannot find the right path for themselves. Or to see that the road is not a narrow path, but a big winding one like the branches of a tree.

GUYS (sorry spoilers for JP event) I must ramble

I am only basing this on the PV (not the one with Fellow talking, I think) and the description, so bear with me.

So, what if Gidel has a wish but can't for some reason tell Fellow? Like, say, wanting to leave the circus or wanting to not kidnap other people anymore? But when he does manage to tell, Fellow keeps redirecting because he doesn't want the two of them to leave the circus, because the circus has been a safe place for them since they were younger and he's secretly afraid of what may happen if they leave.

OH WAIT. ANOTHER THOUGHT HIT ME.

Fellow claims that the people who come turn into puppets because those people lack a good conscience. (Maybe in the circus there's a test of sorts that turns failures into puppets!) Fellow also tells Gidel that they have good conscience but may lose it if they leave the circus.

Ace and Ortho are little brothers, and Kalim is an older brother. They might be the ones to help Gidel finally get Fellow to listen and actually consider, or show Gidel that you still can have a good conscience out in the world. And the three can give a verbal beatdown of how it's so messed up lying to your little brother like that.
