@the-apostates-martyr tagged me in a post for 7 comfort movies! I watch pretty much any kind of non-religious horror, though I also dabble in other genres too, like dark comedies. If it's weird, it's my genre.

1: Dead Ringers (the original ofc. My current watch over and over obsession)

2: IWTV - I mean do I have to explain this one?

3: any of the Alien movies, especially the first two, but also the Alien Isolation game. I count that as a movie tbh. It's phenomenal - even just to watch playthroughs of it.

4: The Lost Boys & Near Dark - I count these as one because honestly I can't watch one without the other.

5: Peter Pan (2006) - my dvd copy is signed by Jason Isaacs and he doodled a little hook on it 🥹 I was the only one in the signing line who wanted that signed and he was thrilled to geek out with me about it for like 20 mins since I was the last in line. He took a picture of my battle jacket bc he liked it so much lmao

6: the original Halloween or the first of the newest trilogy. They're also my dog's favorites too. He'll come running to watch them with me when he hears the theme song lmao

7: Crimson Peak - or any GDT movie honestly. But especially Crimson Peak

Uhh early 20th century drag queen Dandy? He has mentioned he looks good in a dress and also his vibes really fit Wiemar-style cabaret music (I was listening to a few Vagabond Opera songs on repeat while drawing this lmao.. Farewell Kabarista and Sing For Your Lives if anyone is familiar with them and curious). I think he always has on that hat no matter what else he's wearing.

I have a lot to say about Dandy in Wiemar Germany (that particular flavor of early 20th century queer culture and whatnot) but have not had ability to form coherent thoughts about it recently so I will possibly do that later, with a self-reblog I guess.

Under all that professionalism she was loyal, and kind, and loving, and those she loved she protected fiercely.

The fourth of West's original Vagabond crew, Leena has since given up spacing to be a station commander at Giant's Tenement, a ragtag independent outpost in the Badlands. The Faerie Queen, they call her. And she is fae. Wounded in the circumstances that brought her to the Badlands, she suffers from long-term iron sickness: her vocal chords are especially affected, leaving her with a raw, quiet voice and a debilitating cough.

Since her arrival in the Badlands, Leena has cultivated an image of strength and sharpness like the blade of a knife, furthered by the electrostatic shield she wears to protect herself from iron and her general monochrome fashion sense. She's smart, and a good actress, but when it comes down too it, too serious to live up to her ruthless reputation. She has no desire to visit death on anyone, not knowing what she knows.

While Leena may seem wise beyond her years, almost infinite in wisdom, she's far from it, often prioritizing a small handful of people over the greater good. Her two softest spots are her privateer West, and Gadiel Mendoza, her android companion and idea-springboard. She'd do anything for either of them, and especially Gadiel, including make decisions that go against her better judgement. She's in love with him, but seeing as he's technically her officer, she doesn't know how to broach the subject.

Leena spends most of her time handling the egregious amounts of paperwork West tends to accumulate, or wandering the public sections of Giant's Tenement interacting with her subjects. When she's not doing that, she likes to read, and to play games like cards and chess. She's also a bit of a martial arts nut, mostly because she saw a few too many Beltan action-operas as a kid. She used to sit in front of the television every night to see Two Monks of Chalk Cliff and she still owns every Mira Aulikki movie. She's going to make Gadiel watch all of them at some point.

every so often i chug the holmesdoc juice a little too hard and have insane discord convos with mutuals and conspiracy theory board connect characters that have no business connecting and

anyways i managed to talk myself into phantom/musashi where musashi is phantoms cristine but he recognizes her specifically as not like the real christine who was actually a person that phantom knows doesnt love him but rather the idea of what christine is in phantoms head as this perfect idealized person who never really existed nor actually loved him despite saying she does and combining that with how the one and only musashi who truly reached zero was the one that never existed and the one who despite not existing still loves the world that she wasnt meant to exist in all the same even though her very existance is rejected by it quite literally the stage director who can slip in and out of the performance he never had a part in but comandeered all the same and the vagabond who jumps between worlds she doesn't belong in and continues to love despite it killing her where both phantom and musashi love too much but for phantom its an uncontrollable urge that is outright insanity born entirely out of passion and for musashi its a genuine love of people and worldy experiences that also borders on insanity born from passion and guda/phantom/musashi is guda existing as this person who very much isnt christine and phantom does his best to love them as himself and love guda as themselves and musashi as this perfect master of their craft who checks every box on what a christine should be but the simple fact that she would actually genuinely love him meaning that theres no way she could ever be christine and being faced with the truth that yeah, people can love him for Him where musashi would have a like recognizes like moment of erik also seemingly being non-existent due to the mask and the role of phantom of the opera meaning he cant ever exist individually and yet even if they cannot exist as themselves in tangible permanent ways the love they have for people is indeed real no matter how twisted or fleeting also something something the end of olympus where musashi cuts the void quite literally being her final performance built upon countless useless and meaningless struggles that are not in any way meaningless and her sword reaching the void and dying knowing she will have saved the person she loved = phantoms endless struggles for love all culminating in him dying the moment christine kissed him because after a life of pitiful experiences where his only worth in the eyes of others was in his ability to perform he was finally loved as himself even if only for a moment

It's been about a minute since I've drawn some of my characters and Gren and felt like doodling them up and in anime style too. Will also be including some small details too.

Lyla & Grendel met when they were kids briefly some time ago. Years passed before their worlds would collide. They wouldn't be an official couple until centuries later. There is a prophecy attached to the pair, claiming they'd be the saving grace among the world and beyond, bringing an ancient evil to its knees & make giants fall.

Lyla is half witch and half werewolf. Her father is the descendent of Fenrir and her mother is the daughter of Satan himself and a woman who sold her soul to obtain powers and control.

Next is Bradley Mann (one with the mohawk) He's 850 years old, is half Vampire on mom's side and Satyr on his father's side. Brad is pansexual. He's been friends with both Lyla and Gren since the early 1300s; the duo met Brad when he was set to be hung for petty crimes but was saved by Lyla. The trio began a small 'bounty hunting' gig, developed by the Church, in hopes of keeping peace among all living beings.

Next is Clyde, 'Pinky', the son of Dracula. He's half Vampire and half human. His mother passed during child birth and was raised alone by Dracula. He's 900 years old. Clyde is a soft spoken and a kind hearted person. He came across Lyla and the others when they were traveling through Europe on a job. During the 1950s and 60s, Clyde lived in a van and along the beach. He's a talented artist and enjoys playing guitar. He's straight.

Bruce (one in the beanie) is half Centaur on his father's side and vampire on mom's side. His mom had a one night stand before her wedding night; the man she was set to marry understood and raised Bruce as his own. Bruce use to be in the mafia and was known as the 'Silent plague.' Bruce crossed paths with Clyde when he was traveling in the mountains of Italy and the pair eventually collided with the others and worked beside them. He's a talented opera singer, great with weapons but is painfully shy. Bruce is bisexual. He's almost 1,000 years old.

Last is Tyson 'Dice', the half brother of Lyla. He was conceived before meeting her current husband; it was a night of passion with a vagabond Vampire and she's never seen the man since. Dice is half witch and half Vampire and is quite powerful like his mother. He's very close to Lyla and is protective of his sister. He's the current owner of 4 leaf clover, a tattoo parlor opened up by himself, Brad, Clyde and Bruce. He's homosexual. Dice is 950years old.

"A lone wolf and one with a broken heart will come as one to stop a power thought to be gone. They'd be followed by a wild fire, the roar of a Lion, the call of a single Raven & the blowing wind of a lost soul."
