Headmate Verbality Coining Post
[pt: Headmate Verbality Coining Post /end pt]
Bodily nonverbal systems have stated that nonverbal is a term exclusive to those who are bodily unable to speak at all times. As such, these exist now.
Nonvocal - a headmate who is never able to speak regardless of the body's verbality
Semivocal - a headmate who is only able to speak a little regardless of the body's verbality
Demivocal - a headmate who is only able to speak some regardless of the body's verbality
Vocal - a headmate who is able to speak a "normal amount" regardless of the body's verbality
Hypervocal - a headmate who speaks more than most people regardless of the body's verbality
Vocalflux - a headmate whose ability to speak changes regardless of the body's verbality
I don't care who uses these, just know they were made by a pro-endo! :D

Just saw a low support needs person claim that support levels are ableist because "there is no real difference between level one and level three autism"
Bro. You are so wrong,
Support needs aren't comparing autistic people to allistic. It's compared against other autistic people. A level three autistic person is going to have substantially higher support needs. It's not ableist to say this. It's not ableist to say someone has higher support needs than you.
Please, for fucks sake, stop erasing high support needs autistic people from discussions. They're autistic and human too. They exist. They are on here telling you this.
Stop fucking pretending that a low support needs autistic has the same needs as someone high support needs.
I'm medium support needs. My milestones and accomplishments look a bit different than a low support needs person. Going to a restaurant and not having a meltdown within 30 minutes is a significant achievement for me. Going into the store by myself and buying three items is a significant achievement for me. Saying anything to a stranger is a significant achievement for me. Remembering to go to the bathroom, eating, and drinking water is an accomplishment.
My friend's brother is very high support needs. He will never be able to live independently. He is nonverbal. He cannot read. He can't write. He can't spell. He can't learn sign language. AAC for him is offering two hands, a verbal option for each hand. Left hand for no, right hand for yes; left hand for iPad, right hand for toy (as examples). That is his only way to communicate.
He is high support needs. That is not ableist to say. That is a fact. His severe intellectual disability is inherently connected to his autism. There is no end to his autism and then start to his ID. They are connected.
Anyways. I'm just sick of seeing low support needs autistics claiming that "y'know one day I could be level one and another I'm level three." It just doesn't work that way. Level 3 autistic people don't have days where they could be seen as level one or low support needs. They are visibly disabled and even if you have zero knowledge of autism, you can still tell they are disabled.
I type better than I speak. My friend speaks better than he types. His brother can't do either.
Stop erasing high support needs autistics.
To the high support needs autistics on here (because they do exist on here, they aren't hard to find), please correct anything I've said that is wrong. I am still learning, and want to be a good ally.
I'm not tagging this with nonverbal, or high support needs, because that's their place. I'm not nonverbal, I'm not high support needs. Those aren't my places to post. That is their space.

it's okay to be nonspeaking.
it's ok to be semispeaking.
it's okay to be hyperspeaking.
if you deal with verbal communication issues. if you are selective mute. if you use AACs/TTS. that is okay. how you communicate is up to you. it should be your choice. no one should force you to use your mouth parts for communication. you shouldn't have to pay to communicate.. but we do.
Shane prefers AAC/TTS apps. texted based, picture based, of both. they are unreliably verbal
A lot of system members uses AACs/TTS to communicate. Some alters fully can communicate verbally "normally." some can talk, but prefer AACs/TTS. some are nonverbal, semiverbal. or semispeaking or nonspeaking or unreliably verbal, verbalflux/altverbal, it depends on the alter who wants to use which term.
and no you cannot "go" nonverbal or semiverbal. it's verbal loss or shutdown. you can only "become" semi or nonverbal pretty much from regression. we use to use "go semi/nonverbal" but we now know it is a constant state.
no matter what your verbal abilities are, you are valid. those autistics out there with different verbal abilities, you're doing great!! - The Dreamdrop System

hi guys, i've never coined anything so lmk if i do anything wrong !
i wanted to coin a new term related to nonscribal and verbalflux because i haven't seen a term that describes some of my own and my friend's experiences
SCRIBALFLUX: a term for when your ability to produce written or typed language fluctuates between different states, such as having no, some, or full ability to produce written language

forgot made this TikTok... still true sadly
[Video ID: a video with text over a video of Jeremy walking with the camera pointing at the ground so all we can see is the sidewalk and Jeremy's legs going in and out of frame. The text over the video reads:
I swear, sometimes low support needs autistics are straight up worse than autism mommies and that is saying something
literally saying shit like
"Well bc i say this symptom doesn't exist, it doesn't and you're actually low support needs"
"autism isn't a disability"
"traits, not symptoms"
"different brain, not disorder"
"[insert symptom] doesn't exist"
"well maybe we're all a little high support needs"
"see because i feel like this, once every 2 years, that obviously means im high support needs"
"well, you dont act like me so you're not autistic, just [r word]"
"just stop stimming, come on its voluntary, it isn't fucking tics"
"ew why are you acting like that, that isn't normal"
"see, i dont act like that so that obviously means you have the ability to not act like that"

Hi momo! So, I have a question on what are good terms to refer to someone who is regularly speaking but it's exhausting, sometimes cannot speak, and has a disconnect between their brain and mouth. I'm autistic, low-mid support needs, and I just had someone yell at me on tiktok for using nonverbal to describe those situations. I will say I did not take it well after they went from the comment section of a video to harassing me on my videos, just bc I've had people not take my disability seriously and I'm not in autistic spaces bc online communities stress me out most of the time. So, after reading through articles and posts on tumblr (which I feel more safe on), what do you think describes my experience? Bc I don't identify with selective mutism
Hello friend! First how is you? Hope is well ^_^
Ok so, first momo understand feel and think know what mean! Basically nonverbal people prefer we (semiverbal, full verbal, etc) use terms like "verbal shutdown" or "speechless episode"!
"Mouth and brain dissconnect" this sound lot like apraxia but apraxia is constant state as far as momo know! Could also be just shutdown/post-meltdown speech loss.
To describe verbality as whole momo would advice search up "demiverbal" or "verbalflux"! There some other verbal terms that momo not can recall right now tho, that may even apply :D
Momo not judge use nonverbal term in past specially if want learn because momo was like that too! Momo used be very stubborn about it actually :0 was tumblr friends who educate momo :)
Remember momo not professional or inside you head tho! So please reseach before :)
Hope is help, friend !

Semiverbal or verbal flux?
Hi!! So I’m a self dxed autistic adult and I have difficulty speaking sometimes! I use AAC as well. Usually when I’m upset or stressed I completely stop talking, and there are some situations where I just feel like I can’t or shouldn’t talk. It’s mostly when I’m triggered but not always. Sometimes talking just feels like too much for me. But whenever I am verbal, I usually talk way too much and end up getting griped at or called annoying. What should I consider myself? Am I semiverbal? I’d like to hear some opinions!

Hey can semi verbal beings — especially ones who can get more 'talkative' — help me out with something? I've been struggling with verbal labels, as I don't know where I lay. The best way I can describe my ability to speak is being 'set off' which can either be positive or negative, and I'll speak a lot (or at least it feels like a lot for me. It feels like a warm up where I'll notice my vocal cords burning after a bit like an overheated engine). Otherwise I'm mostly a listener and will answer in short sentences. I also experience verbal shutdowns, where I can push through if I really have to (I've gotten better at this over the years). I've always been like this the more I think about it; I've had someone say that I 'never felt the need to fill the silence' and I was always predisposed to just... not speaking in class but I don't know if that's because I was pushed away by my peers often and just gave up lol.
I've considered demiverbal and even verbal flux, but that doesn't quite feel right either. I'm like a blend of demi and semi verbal and I've been calling myself semiverbal for a bit, but I keep feeling like I don't struggle enough to fit that label. So yeah, that's my situation lol, I would like some help with this and even consolation.
