#we barley have a sense of how they feel about each other

I just love it when I see upcoming indie creators/artists make drawings or a chart of what the dynamics are like between each of their main characters, going into depth about how each character bounces off of one another and how they see the other, because I’m SO used to a certain indie cartoon NOT doing that at all or exploring it. ☺️

I loved your answer about the Bennetts and it makes me curious how you feel about how the originals show handles/barley mentions them
Honestly relieved.
Let's be honest, The Originals didn't handle POC characters any better than TVD did. So I know they would have handled it just as poorly. Don't even get me started on how the show treated Marcel and Vincent or any of the many women of color they killed off for the plot.
Now in reality (if the show was real), the Bennetts would have been all over New Orleans. The show really said the Bennetts were in the Americas before Europe had even invaded and then pretended that the Bennetts didn't have ties to nearly every coven in North America. We know they were focused in Salem until they were run out and found their way to Mystic Falls. But we also know they are often not found together and we see them in so many cities, so it would make sense that they would have ties to most of the covens. Especially in a city like New Orleans that is flooded with magic. The Bennetts would have found their way there at some point.
The Mikaelsons also have a long history with the Bennetts so even if the the Bennetts hadn't already been in New Orleans, I would think the Mikaelsons would have dragged them into their drama at some point. Now I could see the Bennett witches fleeing the city as soon as the Mikaelsons landed knowing they only bring pain to witches. But if the Bennetts had been there, they likely would have prevented the Mikaelsons from settling.
There were so many times throughout The Originals that they were stumped and the audience was yelling at the characters because Bonnie already solved these problems in TVD. Now I don't compare witch powers because the show is so inconsistent with power level that I don't think it's possible, but Bonnie was a powerful witch who would have been incredibly useful. A witch whom the Mikaelsons were all very aware of.
A couple of moments where I was expecting Bonnie to get dragged in or at least mentioned:
When Hope was sent with Rebekah. They said she was cloaked by a witch but the Mikaelsons didn't have a witch in the family yet. Who would they have trusted to do it? Who would be powerful enough to make the New Orleans coven/Esther unable to track her? I could see Klaus calling Bonnie up with all kinds of threats to cloak Hope.
When Freya was in the chambre and Hayley was trying to bring them back. She mentions she had a witch but doesn't name one. This would have been an easy moment to mention the Bennetts. After all, Hayley knows Bonnie and could have tried to plead with her to help. She could have at least started there.
The most ridiculous moment is at the end when they die to kill the Hollow, like Bonnie hasn't been creating worlds to trap souls in for years. Bonnie and Freya would have been a cool team-up moment at the end to save the day.
I do think it would be hard to explain why Bonnie was willing to help them at any point, but that goes for any witch. None of them wanted to help the Mikaelsons but did so for various reasons.
TVD created this long history of Bennett witches that constantly interacted with the Original family and yet were not mentioned once throughout their show. It just made no sense.
I don't ship Bonnie with any of the Mikaelsons for many reasons but I think it would have been such a good story to see her come to New Orleans and interact with Marcel, Davina, Vincent, etc. I think they would have welcomed her in as a fellow Mikaelson-anti and I really wanted to see Bonnie with more witch friends. They could have taught each other so much.
But personally, I wanted Bonnie and Enzo to leave the MFG behind and start their own life. I could see Bonnie bringing her distant relatives together and finally creating a home for the Bennett coven. She deserved that way more than continuing to get tied up in the vampire drama.
Thanks for asking! Bonnie is one of my favorite TVD characters and I don't talk about her nearly enough.

can you write an xavier thorpe x reader who is native and a witch. i never see any native readers on here and im native, black and latina. and although i'm also latina and black i barley see any native and i want my native besties to feel incluced.
Although it definitely would be better for you and your native besties and more accurate for an actual native to write a fanfic like this, I WILL TRY MY BEST!!!! Sorry if it came out too Scooby Doo/Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Spooksville, I hope you like it though.
Wendigo
Paring: Xavier Thorpe x Native!Reader
Summary: There is a new monster in Jericho that has replaced the Hyde.
Warning: Maybe spelling errors. Since I am not native, please correct me on ANYTHING that you find wrong or inaccurate
A/N: the lore of the monster has been taken out of Native American lore and little bit from Supernatural.
Like many witches, Y/N used herbs to make potions and follow spells in her spell book. She was following the steps correctly and was about to say the incantation when Enid comes bursting in her dorm.
“Y/N, Y/N, you would not believe what happened.” Enid said, out of breath.
“What happened? Did the Hyde escape?” Y/N asked.
“No, but now there’s a new monster. People have gone missing, no one knows what it is but these people have started going missing when we were on break. I swear if Jericho starts blaming Nevermore again, I am going to die.” Enid said.
“Okay, relax, does Wednesday know about this monster?” Y/N asked. That’s when Wednesday came in with Enid’s laptop.
“I started looking at Jericho’s news website, trying to find any other missing persons report, so far we are dealing with a Hyde, they haven’t killed. So far, they’re just missing.” Wednesday said.
“If they’re just missing, then how do you know it’s a monster instead of it being normal?” Y/N asked.
“27 people have gone missing, Y/N. 27 people. All 27 of them had families who claimed they were going on hikes or walks in the woods at night, claiming it calms them.” Enid said.
“Who the fuck goes to the woods at night?!? Like common sense people!” Y/N exclaimed.
“It’s Jericho, I don’t think these people have common sense.” Wednesday said and Y/N shrugged, agreeing with her, “I say we head to the woods and see what’s out there.”
“You have learned nothing from the Hyde, have you?” Y/N asked Wednesday.
“Try living with her.” Enid said.
“Well I’m obviously not going alone. I’m not dragging Eugene with me again, you two are my closest friends, if you bring it up again, I’ll deny everything. Y/N, Can you ask Xavier to come with us?” Wednesday asked.
“Sure, hopefully he says yes.” Y/N said.
Now in the art shed.
“Absolutely not!” Xavier shouted.
“Oh come on, Xavi, please come with us.” Y/N said.
“I mean nom there’s no way you’re going on a an adventure with Wednesday Addams, Eugene almost died.” Xavier said.
“But he didn’t! Come on, just come with us.” Y/N begged.
“Alright, fine.” Xavier said and Y/N kissed him thank you.
“Perfect! So here the backstory: people have gone missing, almost 30 people in the last 3 weeks have gone missing in the woods. Granted, they’ve gone at night so that’s their fault, but there’s no way it’s a coincidence.” Y/N explained to Xavier.
“Fine, so are we going tomorrow?” Xavier asked. Then Wednesday and Enid entered the art shed.
“We’re going tonight. We’ll hide in the trees so we could see the creature.” Wednesday said.
“I’ve been working on an invisibility potion, maybe we could use it too, better our chances.” Y/N said.
“Alright, Let’s go, here are some flashlights.’ Wednesday said, taking out four flashlights from her backpack. They decided to walk to the Jericho woods. Then a twig snapped. Enid held onto Xavier’s arm.
“Did you hear that?” Enid asked frightened.
“You stepped on a twig, Cupcake.” Y/N said. They walked further into the woods when there was a loud growl.
“What was that?” Enid asked.
“That’s definitely the monster, quick, drink the potion and climb the trees!” Y/N exclaimed. Each person drank the potion and climbed different trees. When Y/N made it to the top, she saw the monster. It’s bones were showing, the monster looked like an ashy gray color, the footprints it left behind were bloody. “It can’t be.” Y/N whispered and the monster growled again and walked away, everyone got off their tree. “We need to go, now.”
“No way, we need to follow it.” Wednesday said.
“You Don’t know what it is Wednesday!” Y/N shouted.
“Oh, and you do? Enlighten us, Y/N.” Wednesday said,
“It’s a Wendigo, okay? My parents have told me stories about the wendigo back on the reservation, now let’s go before it comes back.” Y/N said,
“What’s so bad about a wendigo?” Xavier asked.
“It’s a cannibal! And if you haven’t noticed, it’s about 13 feet tall! It will kidnap us, take us to its cave, and feed off us, now please, let’s go back to Nevermore.” Y/N said. They walked to Nevermore and stayed in Xavier’s art shed to talk about the wendigo.
“What’s the story behind the Wendigo? When I was searching the book of outcasts, it never mentioned a wendigo.” Wednesday said.
“It’s from Native American folklore, according to the lore, Wendigos should be out in Canada or the Great Lake Region, even Minnesota. I don’t understand how a wendigo can end up in New England, though.” Y/N commented.
“If Wendigos are not supposed to be in Vermont, then how come there’s one here?” Enid asked.
“I Don’t know, maybe this person turned into a Wendigo, I don’t know what else could have happened.” Y/N said, pacing back and forth, she have heard of Wendigos, but she never knew they existed. Doesn’t matter if she was a witch or not, Wendigos are a completely different territory.
“How does someone turn into a Wendigo?” Wednesday asked.
“Okay so back when there were super cold winters and people such as native Americans and settlers were stranded, there was no food, they could build a fire, they couldn’t hunt. They got extremely hungry and resulted to cannibalism. Of course there are myths that say if you eat human meat, it gives you…abilities. Like you’ll be superhuman technically speaking. The only problem is, once they resulted to cannibalism, it’s hard to stop and then the more you eat human flesh, you become something nonhuman, ergo, the Wendigo.” Y/N stated.
“I’m gonna be sick, how can someone result to cannibalism?” Enid asked.
“How should I know. Wednesday, do you think you can use your psychic power to see how this Wendigo came to be?” Y/N asked.
“I’d have to touch something. Xavier, you must have at least a sketch of the Wendigo or where it may be hiding.” Wednesday said.
“I’ve been having dreams about a monster, I just never knew what it meant, never had dreams this intense since the fucking Hyde. Here’s some sketches, look at them and see if you can find anything.” Xavier said. The girls looked at the charcoal sketches and Wednesday could identify a cave.
“This cave, I know where it is. Back when Tyler was helping me, before I knew he was the Hyde, we were in this part of the woods. If the Wendigo is there, my visions could tell.” Wednesday said.
“Great, now Let’s go to our dorms and try to sleep, we’ll have to go tomorrow morning to the cave,” Y/N said.
“Why the morning?” Xavier asked.
“Wendigos only come out at night, obviously. Wednesday touches the cave, she gets a vision, we kill it.” Y/N said, they went to their dorms but Y/N went to spend the night with Xavier.
“I’ve been thinking about the Wendigo, how are we going to kill it?” Xavier asked.
“Well according to the lore, they can be killed by silver.” Y/N said.
“Like werewolves?” Xavier asked.
“Okay technically anything Can kill a werewolf because they’re fucking human, but yeah, silver kills most supernatural creatures.” Y/N said.
“And how do we get our hands on a silver bullet?” Xavier asked.
“They’re Kinda pricey, we also need our hands on a gun and I don’t think anyone will sell us a gun.” Y/N said.
“We’ll figure it out tomorrow. Good night.” Xavier said.
The next day, Wednesday got up early and went with Enid to the woods.
“Why could Y/N and Xavier come with us?” Enid whined as she was treading through the woods.
“Y/N is sleeping in Xavier’s room, I am not interrupting that.” Wednesday said,
“Okay but Y/N actually knows about the Wendigo.” Enid said.
“I researched about the Wendigo as well. She’s right, morning is our best option to find it’s cave. While Things is off doing his five finger discount thing to get us a gun and silver bullets, I’ll do my vision, and we can fill them in when we get back to relax.” Wednesday told Enid. They made it to the cave and Wednesday had her vision. In the vision, it showed how the Wendigo came to be.
A Vermont winter, before the outcast burning. The person was with other people, they were very cold, it was windy and snowing, many people couldn’t take it anymore. Those who passed out from the cold, was sadly victim of the man. He built the fire, roasted them, and ate them. Weeks later, though winter has ended, the man still craved human flesh, he continued to kill and eat more people until meh because the Wendigo. Crackstone blamed Goody Addams for creating the monster when she had nothing to do it. Wednesday came to.
“Well now i know why there’s a Wendigo in Jericho. Let’s go before it notices we’ve been here.” Wednesday said. Enid and Wednesday quickly went back to Nevermore by Uber and came bursting into Xavier’s dorm, startling Xavier and Y/N awake.
“What the fuck?” Xavier asks, rubbing his eyes.
“Thing is getting the gun and the silver bullets, I hade a vision about the Wendigo, this creature is really old, Crackstone old, we need to kill it before other people go missing.” Wednesday said.
“Okay fine. So Wendigos hibernate every few years, it’s still winter so Wendigos are active right now.” Y/N comments, sitting up.
“And since they were hibernating when the Hyde was in town, the Wendigo woke up very hungry.” Xavier commented.
“Hence the 30 missing people. But if it’s winter, does that mean all those people are actually dead?” Enid asks.
“Yeah, they’re dead now.” Wednesday said, “but how do you know it hibernates every few years?” Wednesday asked.
“If they only hibernated for months like bears do, then Sheriff Galpin would have been on high alert, there would be a town curfew, and there would have been missing persons reports every year but the oldest missing persons report I could find online was 2010, saying they have gone to the woods to catch fireflies or some shit like that.” Y/N said.
“So we either kill the Wendigo now or..”Enid started.
“Or let some other group of Nevermore kids kill the Wendigo in 13 years.” Y/N said.
“Better today so the Wendigo doesn’t kidnap other people.” Wednesday said. Right on queue, Thing entered the room with a plastic bag, with a gun and silver bullets. “This is what we’re going to use to kill the Wendigo. I know how to shoot.”
“I could distract the Wendigo if necessary. Especially since you have to be within close range of the Wendigo to shoot it’s heart with a silver bullet.” Y/N said.
“Why do you need to be close?” Enid asked
“The density of silver bullets are not as heavy as a lead bullet, therefore don’t have as much power, closer range means better chances.” Wednesday explained. “And we’ll go tonight.”
“So get up and get dressed, we have to go to class.” Enid said, leaving the dorm with Wednesday. Y/N used magic to out on her uniform.
“I’ll meet you downstairs for breakfast,” Y/N said, kissing Xavier goodbye.
The school day was normal, Y/N was sitting next to Xavier, they were good, when it was lunch time, the four of them sat at a table together to discuss the plan. When the time actually came to execute the plan, everyone was very nervous. Even Wednesday was nervous about what would happen tonight.
“Okay, I have a spell book full of defensive spells, also some healing spells in case anyone is hurt. Hopefully we don’t need those.” Y/N said
“The monster is 13 feet tall, we’re in the trees. Enid can’t wolf out on command which is very disappointing, Xavier has silver tip arrows, Y/N have magic, I have a gun. We go in different trees, Enid can stay with me.” Wednesday said.
They go in trees, a perfect height for Wednesday to shoot it’s heart, they heard the Wendigo roar. The Wendigo was far away from Wednesday tree so she couldn’t shoot it. Y/N had to use magic to try and push the Wendigo closer to Wednesday. When that didn’t work, Xavier used his arrows. So Y/N and Xavier were both attacking the Wendigo until it was close enough for Wednesday to shoot it and the Wendigo fell, causing the trees to shake. They all got down from the tree.
“What do we do with the body?” Xavier asked.
“We burn it. Incendio.” Y/N said and everyone stepped back as the Wendigo was set on fire.
“We’re never going to have a normal school year, are we?” Enid asked.
“We’re outcasts who go to a school for outcasts, school will never be normal.” Y/N said.
“Will people notice if we just leave it burning?” Xavier asked.
“Probably, but who cares, let the police take care of this, let’s go.” Wednesday said and they went back to Nevermore. “Thank you for helping me by the way,”
“Wow, the Wednesday Addams thanking us, I can’t believe it.” Y/N said and Wednesday shoved her. “But no problem.”
“I’m definitely going to have nightmares about the Wendigo, it’s face is so, deformed.” Enid said.
“Welcome to my world,” Xavier said. Enid and Wednesday went ti their dorm while Xavier and Y/N went to the art shed. “How was your your first time fighting a monster?”
“Awful. I like the research portion, hate the fighting.” Y/N said,
“Hopefully this is the last monster we’re facing…until next year anyway.” Xavier said.
“Not funny. But thank you for agreeing to help us.” Y/N said.
“Like I was going to let my girlfriend put herself in danger without me.” Xavier said,
“Anyway, it meant a lot. You gonna sketch the monster again?” Y/N asked.
“I’m thinking about sketching you.” Xavier said.
“Oh, am i your muse?” Y/N asked jokingly.
“You are actually, yeah.” Xavier said, leaning in to kiss Y/N softly but passionately.
“If we keeping going like this, you won’t stop.” Y/N said. Xavier began sketching Y/N and then showed his finished product to Y/N. “Looks beautiful.” Y/N then kissed him, it was nice to have a soft moment like this after risking their lives tonight.

This represents my personal perspective on the matter, so please don't interpret it as a factual statement. It's an opinion, and there may be exceptions if you explore thoroughly. However, I find the otome isekai genre quite monotonous. The recurring theme of recycling concepts, reusing character designs with a prevalent "same face syndrome," and the prevalence of protagonists resembling each other, particularly the Duke of the North archetype with that clichéd Idol haircut, contribute to a sense of staleness. The majority of flawless female leads with 99% being blonde, with a few exceptions, adds to the predictability.
For me, the transmigration or reincarnation concept caught my attention around 2018, starting with works like "Who Made Me a Princess" and the infamous "They Say I Was Born a King's Daughter," even though I admit my taste was not the best back then.
The idea of taking over someone's body and living their life fascinated me. What made it unique was the perspective shift, allowing us to see many previously despised villains from other stories in a new light, experiencing the narrative from their point of view.
But, this is when it started getting old real quick. My god, how many fucking times am I going to see a good heroine turned evil and the villainous be taking the leftover men from the heroine side and forming a harem. The villainous unfortunately can't be nuanced because all these stories do is just make shit black and white. Our MC can't be held accountable for what they did but sob hard enough and we get an ally to ride behind her.
You know what's incredibly frustrating? These Korean women from the 21st century keep transmigrating into these villainous roles, and it's just downright irritating. They either come off as overly naive or stick to the tired narrative of being an office worker who suddenly becomes wealthy and tramples over others. It lacks uniqueness, and seriously, what do we really know about the female lead (FL) beyond the prologue? Who is she? What's her home life like? Does she want to return? These are questions I want answers to, but we're not given the chance because the focus remains on the villainous character. Even that aspect isn't executed well; they end up softening her character and making her more compliant than she was in the original story just to avoid a bad ending. I'm more intrigued by understanding the backstory of the actual original villainous character.
The male lead (ML) seriously disappoints. I get it, this genre revolves around romance, but let's get real for a moment—do we genuinely care about this so-called "romance"? What truly matters is the chemistry between characters that makes us feel, cry, and get infuriated, and that's what a story should evoke. Worse than a bad boy ML is a downright boring male lead. Whether it's the Duke of the North or any other generic character, they all feel like mere props catering to the female lead, and that's painfully dull.
I couldn't care less because these MLs exist solely to assist her in everything, whether it's for revenge, to play the savior, or to be the healer. Nothing feels genuine; there's no emotional investment in the romance for me. I'm not overjoyed by the idea of them being together. Many readers seem more fixated on their aesthetics and how well he serves her, but let's be honest—their designs are unimaginative, resembling countless other MLs and MCs. Frankly, I wish more effort were put into creating distinct and captivating characters.
No matter how much one might criticize the toxicity of old-school Shojou romances and the portrayal of male leads, I absolutely loved it. Sure, the romance might not be ideal, but that's precisely what makes it fun and enjoyable to read. The characters have their quirks and distinct personalities, creating their own unique dynamics that add to the charm of the story unlike the former.
Transmigration/Reincarnation is so barley touched in a genre surrounding that very concept. It's like they dip into a puddle but don't expand on the horrors or intrigue of anything really and they be explaining everything from the prologue instead of letting us breathe. We don't settle or sit with the characters and writers are far more interested in miscommunication. It's why I like manga because you get beautiful scenes of just peace or character introspection than you would in colored format.
If there's one story that truly captivated me and made me fall in love with this particular brand of Otome Isekai, it's "A Stepmother's Märchen." It may not be a masterpiece, but the deliberate and slow-paced narrative, reminiscent of a novel, along with the meticulous attention to depicting a semi-realistic high society, drew me in. The story offers complex and conflicted characters, and the stunning art, which interestingly mirrors European illustration outside of the main cast, adds to its appeal. Of course, it's not without its flaws, but the beauty of the narrative has made it stand out to me even years later. It's not a one-note copy it did it own thing that I wish OI did more.
Kill the Villanous,
Death is the ending the villanous
I appreciate how these stories took the isekai concept and added their unique twists. It's refreshing, and I wish more writers would follow suit. While I understand that Otome Isekai is primarily about wish fulfillment, I also crave narratives that offer more than just that. A well-crafted story with thoughtful character development would be a welcome addition to the genre because it sticks out to me more. I don't remember OI titles but for me to remember those is because the concept were different from the usual OH no I woke up in the villain body.

cw: fox god au, fluff, poly (ingo/reader, emmet/reader) zoroark hybrids, Emmet content is light
It had been weighing on your mind ever since you had met the two fox gods in their rural, isolated village. They both appeared young in their Zoroark forms and their human ones, too, but it was obvious they had been around for over two hundred years. That was, after all, when your past life had fallen. Even so, however, they were obviously older than that.
Asking them would have been the obvious solution, but they both seemed genuinely unsure. You had actually asked Emmet who could only shrug and say that it had been a long time. Ingo had agreed with his thoughts. Being around for so many centuries, it would only make sense that eventually you would stop keeping count. It still made you curious.
You managed to capture Ingo as he rested on the veranda, watching as the garden began to bloom with greenery. Spring had fully come, bringing warmth and colour. You sat beside him, offering a cool cup of barley tea for him. He gave you a gentle glance, fluffy tail swishing lightly. A light breeze blew through the area. Everything was utterly peaceful now. How they went about bringing you back into their life would never be something you would agree with. You did feel happiest with them.
“What's your earliest memory?” you asked him, wondering if that could give you any idea just how far back their lives went. Ingo brought his hand to his chin and hummed in thought for a moment.
“I suppose it was scaring off a Fearow that had tried to attack Emmet after he got injured during a hunt,” he answered with a tone of nostalgia, “He looked so afraid, and I felt myself completely protective of him.” You could not see Ingo filled with such aggression. In all the time you had spent with them, he always appeared to be the more passive of the two.
“… Anything with humans?” you tried again. Attire and building structures could give you a better idea. His face darkened.
“I do believe those stories would be quite depressing,” he shook his head, “There is no need to taint such a pretty day with them.” With his reply, he brought the chilled beverage to his lips and drank it. You sighed. Their weariness towards humans would have had to originate from somewhere. You watched the garden fill with playful Zorua kits. They chased after bugs and each other.
“I've decided you are half a millennia old,” you nodded, “You and Emmet are old men, after all.” Emmet said that himself. It was not a rare response for him to refer to himself as an old man. Ingo sighed.
“… We were only alive for a few decades before meeting you,” he continued, “Emmet and I had never taken a mate before you, nor had we settled down our shrine location.” You turned to him, a bit in awe. They had somewhat regaled to you as to how your past life had met them. It seemed overly romantic. What with you taking in a Zoroark form Emmet on death's door and nursing him back to health. They distrusted humans by that point, but you had become their only exception. You began giggling, catching his attention once more.
“You two really mated for life, huh?” you wondered why they never gave up waiting on your reincarnation to find another mate. If you were their first, you supposed they had no interest in anyone else at all.
“Truthfully, I was not entirely on board with the idea of having a human as a mate,” Ingo's face was bright red as his ears pressed against his head, “I believed you to be Emmet's passing fad, but his love for you was strong. Your kindness won me over, too…” Your chest grew warm at his words. Reaching over, you grasped his hand tightly and rested your head on his shoulder, the silken fabric of his robes cool to your skin. He grasped your hand back and watched the garden at your side.
“Verrrry true,” Emmet suddenly called out from behind you both, startling you apart, “Brother was convinced you were playing us! I told him you were earnest.” The younger fox god's arms came around you, his tail wagging quickly. “I loved you all along,” he cooed and pecked a kiss on your cheek, “Unlike him.” Ingo rolled his eyes and took another drink of his tea.
“… By that, he means he enjoyed spending his ruts with you most,” the older twin snarked back.
“He says that like he didn't cry and scratch at our bedroom door before becoming your second mate,” Emmet stuck his tongue out at his brother. Ingo looked mortified.
Soon, the garden's peace ended as two brothers battled each other. You watched with a small smile on your face.
This shrine truly had become your home.

When you think about it Crimson and Sans share a lot of mannerisms and are generally... Kind of similar in small ways? They wear the same complex expression when you ask about their past, they barley let their true emotions show on their face, they are always on the lookout for attack, and they both seem like they'll always know more then us. Their fighting matches up perfectly with each other and they seem close in the most hateful way possible. When we watched them fight when we were trapped in the red string, watching them felt like that's what it's always been. Them for all of eternity. I feel like we're kind of an outsider to both of them? It makes me feel... Strangely jealous.
here's some cool art of the scene I drew!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
they're married to an eternal slaughter of each other but divorced recently after meeting y/n mutually cheating 😔/j
or could just be interpreted as the salty exes who murder each other on a regular basis!/j
or maybe they are still married to be each other's enemy and you just somehow became a part of that mess???/j
something about the deep history between these two mortal enemies gave you a faint sense of being... left out? as a stranger. you had only known sam's for a few months...
while crimson seemed to know... almost EVERYTHING about him (all to the extent of his accurate battle prowess timing danger and habits... his tastes, his interests his mindset... even his deepest darkest secrets that he had YET to show.)
sans also seemed to know crimson like the back of his hand, rightfully predicting them... making up a carefully set trap using you as bait and they fell for it...
you'd never know sans as well as crimson... and never know crimson as well as sans seemed to know them...
crimson did say they had outlived the world by multiple lifetimes... had they known each other that long? not just one but multiple lifetimes? how long had this been going on???
and yet crimson insisted on pulling you into the drama? to spice things up?
you furrow your eye brows. this was probably some sort of clown show for them to indulge themselves in drama and watch the chaos ensue. not like you could do much against it. you'd use it and take what you could to gain an advantage...
you recall asking them something."do you want to turn me crazy too?'
"of course not, that's too cliche. you're the hero aren't you goody two shoes?"
you were? thinking of yourself as a hero was ironic since it was you who basically freed a chaotic evil entity at the world... what hero does that!?
crimson and sans had a lot in common and among them was their tendency to make you want to punch them in their mysterious smug face... a light bap for sans and a heavy punch for crimson of course.
wait crimson wouldn't feel pain... what was even the point of hurting them??? they also get a light bap you decide.
you felt a bit overwhelmed. coming in between these two felt... like a lot of pressure. despite being told the summary of their dynamic you STILL felt like that extra person who would join a friend group that had known each other for years, awkwardly looking at them glaring at each other without knowing the context or punchline if the jokes they'd say...
or well, the insults they'd throw at each other...
it was mostly one sided... crimson just tanking everything and laughing it off as if losing a limb or two was an average Tuesday...
you really didn't get it... it was horrible to watch them fight... but to them it must've felt... normal? casual?
as if it was a well practiced common practice such as one would chop off one's head as a gesture to say hi or hello or would probably stab the heart as a goodbye...
was that just... their thing?
if you didn't see the blood splatters you would have considered it funny... but it wasn't. it was in fact very graphic.
you almost wished you could unseen it and forget the fact that at certain glances it almost looked... beautiful.

Dungeon Meshi Thoughts 02
Tumblr media
Okay, I read another batch of chapters and finished Chapter 28 where they just finished the Dragon fight. And I need to get some thoughts out cause I am filled with "DREAD". Am I just traumatized from other things because I feel an immense sword of Damocles hanging above these character's even though it's mostly just been happy meals together paired with some questionable morals. Also you fans who've replied or dm'd me are really good at keeping a lid on stuff, which I appreciate, cause yall are being cryptic in ways I can't decipher. I feel like spoilers might be a part of reading this so I'll keep in-depth thoughts below the 'Keep reading'.
Tumblr media
Love this goofy dude.
Okay, first of all I just want to touch on the immaculate vibes and execution around the sharing of meals. And discovering things through them. Because the core concept of this manga is cooking and learning about creatures no one else has explored, it's able to double up and hide the other core concept. Which is learning about others through sharing a meal. Love is found in sharing food with others and this manga shows that off brilliantly. They sit around a meal and talk and laugh and learn about each other. This manga also executes the goading of friends into eating questionable food so well it sometimes feels like an episode of Parts Unknown. But through cooking together and sharing ideas and that downtime together we find out about our characters in such a gentle way and it's just such a good way of showing it that I'm in awe. But it also only works as well as it does because of the central conceit of it all. I scream at the brilliance.
Tumblr media
And speaking of learning about the character's, I am so curious about every single one of them. Especially Senshi. Because he's drawn in such a way that most of his expressions are hidden, he seems enigmatic and detached but his consideration for others and his harmony with the dungeon betrays a sense of empathy. But I wanna know more!!! Like why is he living in the dungeon? Who were his companions? Why does he hate magic? So mysterious and I want to know more.
Also a part of me wonders if I'm reading too much into it or having totally wrong reads like maybe Senshi is just an outright psychopath but I don't think I am because the trail of breadcrumbs I've been following has seemed very purposeful so far.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And speaking of breadcrumbs, It feels like some really dark stuff is being laid out. Like souls can't leave bodies? What in the necromantic hell is going on there? The worldbuilding of this all has been absolutely phenomenal. Like the slow building of spirits to the concept of resurrection that was used as a punchline before being fully explained and then used in the context of a political tool and the master of the dungeons power was pulled off subtly and expertly. It still feels like it's in wait of a payoff so I'm looking forward to how that goes. But this explanation of dark magic that Marcille uses also feels like a tee-up to something deeper.
I also wonder what the payoff of the other adventuring party is goin to be? The ones that Laios's group already passed a few times and stole barley off of. It feels like some misunderstood revenge might be in store for our party.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay, so is a dark elf just literally a brown elf? We going oldschool DnD rules (we'll save the drow rant for another time), huh? Jokes aside, this line kinda keyed me into something weird. Dark Elves exist but common people don't know what it means and soon after we get a proper introduction of the kid in the painting but in current times. And it makes sense they haven't aged as much because it was also pointed out how different races age differently. So maybe this elf rose through the ranks of the royals, became court magician and became the master of the dungeon. And being a reader of Solte the Traveller and it's isekai shenanigans makes me wonder if the underground castle was isekai'd into this world from another, cause how do you not notice an entire underground civilization under you?
Tumblr media
Also this moment. Is everyone in love with Farlyn/Falin(wikipedia says Falin so I think I'll stick to that)? But her coming back into the group makes me wonder about the dynamic. I thought she was the common sense of the group since it's immediately after she's gone that Laios starts eating monsters and thinking about going solo into a dungeon, but after coming back, she's totally cool with it. Also she seems too gentle to be putting Laios in his place so I wonder if it was one of the other two party member's that aren't with them anymore? Maybe the guy with a crush on Falin that we haven't seen since he split? Anyways, I love Falin and the rest of the group so much already, they're all really unique and likable in their own ways while having flaws.
Tumblr media
And speaking of flaws, this guy. I love him so much. Up until the above panel he was a whimsical, daring, detached, morally ambiguous, and hilarious bastard to me. And then this panel happened and now I am fully in. This recontextualized Laios's whole demeanour and also shed a light on how exhausted and haggard the party actually was. It seems that the way the world works in this manga demands a certain sense of detachment from it's inhabitants to stay sane. Death is usually not permanent and weird edible monsters are everywhere and a whole-ass economy has popped around invading this anomaly that just one day appeared in the ground. And our heroes tackle this detachment with humour. But we see how tired they get. Hell it was the first thing they mentioned in the first fight with the dragon. And how desperate they get as they get closer to Falin. The cracks in their whimsy start appearing and bags form under eyes and concessions are made. And when Laios finally hugs Falin I realize that his upbeat attitude the whole way through was hiding his desperation and the weight of having two lives placed on him. That desperation hits a crescendo when he literally jumps in a dragons mouth just for a chance at getting his sister back. They all became desperate. Marrcille used forbidden magic and Chilchuck put himself actively in harms way. They dredged through bones. I am so invested right now. And writing this helps me feel each beat even more. Also one last note. Falin is like half-dragon or something now? She has the magic storage of a dragon or just dragon magic or forbidden magic? That little tidbit is definitely leading somewhere. ALSO WIPE AWAY THE MAGIC CIRCLE BAD ELF ALREADY FOUND IT!!!

Now I'm just upset I sent like 1k words of lore and it ends up being a ghost? Tumblr??? Why??
Anyways yeah poor Waffles was created so I can show that the clans really want to scare the kittypets away and stuff.
Dunno what happened with the humans and honestly don't care to create a reason so they just disappeared one day. Many cats did start crying and that's how the kingdoms formed at first. They started forming groups to support each other because a lot of cats did have deep emotional bonds with their owners.
They learned how to open the bags and cans and breaking out their trapped friends inside of the homes that were locked. (The raccoons helped by smashing in some windows lmao).
Tiny doesn't exist because I fused him with Rusty and that's why Scourge as we know doesn't exist in Kittypet Kingdoms.
The dogs were kind of peeved off on the behalf of their packmates and some who knew how to eloquently speak cat almost went off on a clan cat before being dragged back.
Barley and his barn are neutral grey area for the kingdoms and the clans. They respect this dude's wish to live in peace.
Also, the kittypets found a way to use fire. It's just the raccoons perfected it and then it went from there.
The clan cats were absolutely offended to try and be bribed with "trash" when I have read your twolegplace culture and they were being bribed with what these cats considered treasure. Their toys. Their special little blankets. Even their cans of tuna.
Most of the kittypets were offended the fuck off and had to be dragged back by force to not cause a fight.
Waffles is scarred for life and while he does joke about it from time to time. It was rather truly traumatizing to have him be pinned down and feel his tail be torn away from him to send a message to the other kittypets. He was kind of never the same.
They could've taken his eye. One of his ears. Given him a nasty scar on his body but they took his tail and that's what makes it worse. He was created to show that most of the clan cats can't be reasonably be reasoned with.
He walked in on a Gathering, they heard him out. They heard the humans are gone and most of them agreed that, "Hmm, yes, the twolegs are gone we can take the land for ourselves and go back to the times before all of this. Starclan sent this as a message for a brighter future. Come here little kittypet. Here's what's gonna happen if you and your little friend decide to stay and not leave when asked."
That's haunting!
God, that fucking sucks dude I'm sorry that ended up happening. Tumblr sucks ass.
Honestly I don't mind that there isn't a specific cause towards the disappearance of the humans, I think it adds a bit of mystery that won't be solved. Poor Kittypets though, imagine one day you find your house empty with none of your Housefolk in sight, I like how that led to the formation of the Kingdoms, it builds a sense of community and builds a strong bond between those who were affected the most.
I feel like I remember you talking about making "Scourge" some kind of patron to the Kittypet Kingdoms but I could be misremembering, feel free to correct me on that. I think Tiny and Rusty being put into one character for this AU can lead to a lot of interesting ideas. It's good to know that Barley is just trying to live in peace and the Kingdoms respect his wishes (surprised the Clans respected his wishes but I digress). I'm sure that the raccoons helped the Kittypets with how to safely create fire without burning themselves. I'd imagine that while yeah, the cats have thumbs, with your word about Racoon thumbs generally being more capable, I think that it'd be hard for cats to hold tools to make fire.
I would very much imagine some dogs holding every fiber of their being back from mauling a clan cat to death, I don't blame em. Also makes a lot of sense for the Kittypets to be offended back at the fact that the Clans considered their prized possessions and treasure, "trash". Again, don't blame the Kittypets who wanted to beat the fuck out of the Clan cats, but also they're stronger than me, it would have been on sight for me.
Poor Waffles, man. I guess sometimes you need to show the unwilling and violent nature of the clans through some form of writing. But also, fuck, imagine how horrible he feels after realizing that he gave the Clans vital info about the disappearance of the Twolegs and feeling like he's the cause of their frequent raids and attempted take-overs of some of the Kingdoms. He feels like he's doomed them all.
Overall this is such good ideas you got cooking up! Really gets you thinking about something else too. How many cats in the Clans don't share the same sentiment towards the Kingdoms, how many cats in the Clans are tolerant of them? Are they scared to voice their opinion because they fear punishment? Such a terrifying idea.

I'm very bored rn so I'mma give my opinions on ships in RBA (Rescue Bots Academy) plz don't take this the wrong way, this is just my opinion on them , its not to offend anyone
(Medshot)
Ever since I heard this was a thing I couldn't stop thinking..... OF HOW IT MAKES ZERO SENCE!!!!
I'm sorry to all my Medshot shippers, but, I just don't see it at all
To me I see the two having a very close brotherly bond if anything at all
But I do have to say, the fan fiction.... It's ok, I gotta give credit where credit is due
Over all its a 4/10 for me
(Hotshot x Whril)
This ship was a ship that I completely saw all the way through
The way they come in contact with each other is cute
And the fact that Whirl was the first one to greet him in the first episode, and at the end of season two we see them (the writers knew what they were doing 100℅
Even in one of the episodes, when Hotshot was throwing a cube around (somewhere in the first few episodes of season one) and then help Whirl understand how to catch the cube!! That was too cute for me!
But then.... They have, to me, that "were the chaotic duo" feel to it, and later on... I don't really sense any like... "Let me find out more about you so we can become closer friends" of you know what I mean
Over all its a solid 8/10 for me
(Hoist x Whirl)
Let me just say, I DON'T SEE IT!!!
Yes they care for each other and in season two they become closer, it's still doesn't give me that "oh I like her/him more than a friend"
I admit that when Whirl was feeling doubt in herself thinking she wouldn't get a the mentor she wanted and Hoist was comforting her, it was cute but... He was just giving her a pep talk to make her feel better
Over all like a 4-6/10
(Wedge x Scorch Worch)
How tf does this make any sense!?!?! They barley interact with each other!!!
Other than them both having a fear of heights they have nothing else in common
Again gotta give credit were credit is due, the fan fic of the two are good
But you will never convince me to like this
-25638909753125800742114690652158903/10
Now for my top three ships
(Whirl x Scorch)
Lots of ppl don't ship them, I understand why but....
I LOVE IT!!!
The character development between the two its just giving
And not to mention, Scorch only called her fly girl when it's just the two of them!
THEN WHEN THEY MEET AGAIN HE DOESN'T SAY IT!?!?!?
Like huh!?!?!?
How you can say it when y'all alone but not in front of the others!?!?!?
And don't get me started on how the two ditched Hotshot by going for a race around the track!!! And then left Hotshot in the dust!!
Hotshot, I'm sorry to say but... You get no glitches (bitches)
And in the same episode, Scorch is HELPING WHIRL WITH HER FEAR OF DRIVING!?!?! And Whirl helps him with his fear of heights!?!?
And they hugged!?!
When we first see Scorch he doesn't hug Hotshot back, but when Whirl did HE HUGGED HER BACK!?!?!?
Boi! If you can't hug your friend that you knew for years, but you can hug this girl that you've barely interacted with, that says a lot about you
I will take this ship down. To. My. Grave.
100/10 for me
(Whirl x Brushfire)
I see it
Brushfire looks like she's always flirting with Whirl
And I heard that when spinning someone's blades it's a sign of flirting on Cybertron
AND THAT'S WHAT BRUSHFIRE DOES TO WHIRL IN THE END!!!
I'd think they'd make a good couple but for now just friends
Over all 9/10
(Hotshot x Wedge)
Let me just say, this one is the most beautiful thing ever
If anything this should be the top ship
If you rewatch RBA YOU CAN SEE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!!
10/10 boi

Together Again
13th Doctor X Wife!Reader!
Y/n - Your Name, H/c - Hair Color
Y/n's eyes flutter open. With a strong intake of breath she sits up and looks around. The last thing she remembers is the explosion and Bill bringing her back to the Tardis, before she passed out. Y/n is a different form of a time lord.
She is a healer. Meaning the she can heal her body and anyone else. Therefore she doesn't die and can stop people from dying. She grew up with the Doctor and they had many adventures together. Eventually those adventures caused love to blossom between the two.
Y/n has been through every regeneration. Every new face. Of course this never bothered her. She has loved each new doctor because she knows deep down that her doctor will never change. Now as she sits on the floor of the Tardis, Y/n can't help but wonder where her doctor is. Why the Tardis seems to not be stabilizing.
Sighing, the h/c woman stands, grabbing her side in the process in pain. She slowly walks to the console before heavily leaning on it.
"Where are we?" Y/n wonders loudly.
In return the Tardis gives a low groan. This causes the woman to scoff and roll her eyes.
"I do not need attitude from you" Y/n sighs as she sits down on the floor and lays her head against the console.
Y/n sits there running her glowing hand over her side trying to heal her broken ribs as much as she can. Definitely going to take longer than that to heal. As she does so, y/n tries to figure out how she is going to find the doctor and if she can get the Tardis to stabilize.
Y/n eyes become to heavy for her to keep them open. Slowly she closes her eyes as she lets sleep consume her. Hours later the doors to the Tardis open slowly. The doctor steps in slowly looking around.
"You've redecorated" the doctor states with a soft smile.
Just then she notices a figure laying on the floor. Gasping, the doctor runs over to the figure and lifts her up into her arms.
 "Y/n" she says softly.
As gently as she can, the doctor shakes the woman in her arms. Steadily, Y/n's eyes open. After registering who was holding her, y/n breaks into the biggest smile.
"Y/n" the doctor sighs out. "Doctor" y/n smiles.
Quickly, y/n wraps her arms around the doctors neck and let's a few tears fall.
"I thought I lost you again" y/n whispers.
"Who? Me? Course not. It's going to take a lot more than that to be ride of me" the doctor states causing the other woman to laugh.
Just then someone clearing their throat grabs the attention of the two women on the floor.
"Oh! Right!" the doctor stands up, pulling y/n with her. "Welcome to the Tardis fam!" the doctor smiles. "Care to introduce us doctor?" Ryan questions. "Oh right! Sorry bout that! Fam, this is Y/n, my wife. Y/n this is the fam! Ryan, Yaz, and Graham" the doctor introduces everyone.
"It's lovely to meet you all. Hopefully the doctor wasn't to much trouble" Y/n smiles at them all. "Sorry... You have a space ship...And a wife??" Graham questions with wide eyes. "It's also a time machine" Y/n adds as the doctor wraps an arm around her wife.
"Right that makes sense. But you're married? And you're the Y/n the doctor kept talking about?" Yaz asks with a smile. "That would be me/that would be her" the doctor and Y/n answer at the same time.
"Right how about we get you lot home" the doctor walks over and starts up the Tardis. A little later as everyone has settled in, Y/n was standing looking at the readings on the Tardis when she feels a set of arms wrap around her.
"I was so worried. Last I saw you, well you were on the ground barley breathing" the doctor whispers softly. Y/n turns around and looks up into the doctors eyes. "Well now I am here and so are you. Neither of us is going anywhere. Together again" Y/n smiles as she leans in and kisses the doctor.
"I love you" the doctor smiles. "I love you to the moon and to Saturn" Y/n smiles. The doctor grabs Y/n's hand and pulls her off, down the hall way of the Tardis.

Okay I don't really like what we constitute as Joel's failures. He didn't fail Ellie here in any way. He forced himself up with a knife wound barley healed, hunted men down and fought tooth and crawl to get to her.
Joel didn't fail by not getting to her. When should he have? When he was unconcious the first time she went out? When she put a knife in his hands and told him to fight before running away on horseback when he was barley concious? When he had to take time to learn where she was to get to her?
And by the time he did what NO ONE ELSE could, she had killed David just seconds before as he tried to assault her. That's not failure and there is no theme of Joels failure.
Joel sees his failures as such beacuse of trauma and guilt. You as the audience should not be agreeing with him, you do realize?
Joel was holding injured Sarah in both arms calmly reasoning with a soldier only to have both of them be shot for no reason. How is that Joel failing her?
Joel didn't hear the guy coming up beside him until the door kicked in beacuse behind the walls of a door and building his hearing wasn't as keen on that side. And Ellie chose to intervene instead of waiting for Joel to get the upperhand. How is that Joel failing her?
Ellie didn't tell Joel that Sam was infected and he was literally being held at gunpoint after being shot at by Henry when he went to save her when Sam inevitably attacked her. How is that Joel failing her?
Joel and Ellie being surrounded by people on horseback with guns when he was forced to put his down. And the dog sniffing Ellie but if Joel intervened he'd get shot and likely Ellie too. How is that Joel failing her?
Joel protected Ellie to the degree he didn't even feel himself being stabbed because he was so focused on her saftey.
Joels monologue to Tommy about failing her, both Sarah and Ellie is not what you should take away. Its Joels fear through trauma that he thinks everything is his fault because trauma induced guilt blinds the truth of your own nobility.
Joel didn't fail Ellie here, either. They are a team. She escapes David, and Joel finds her at the same time and saves her from falling into the pit of lonely traumatized despair such an event may have. As a r/sa/csa victim I can tell you that Joel didn't need to physically save her. His quiet and gentle love is exactly the opposite of failure.
Ellie does need Joel. Don't mistaken her being able to escape David and his men for not needing Joel. If Joel wasn't there in that moment? She would have been traumatized for life. But now she remembers that event ending in the arms of a father who actually loves her. That's not failure.
Joel does not have a theme of failure and thinking so is missing the point entierly. The theme is Joel's trauma has warped his sense of self and sees failure where there is none and that by letting Ellie in he understands the truth. Ellie doesn't "not need Joel sometimes". She does because Joel has never failed her. If you asked Ellie if thats what she got out of this situation, that she was okay without Joel's help and that he "failed" to get to her in time?
That little spitfire would tell you to go fuck yourself. This was long but I'm sorry all this mentality does is reduce Joel's trauma to "what a trauma victim thinks of themsleves is truth" and says that Ellie doesn't actually need Joel when the whole point of the fucking show is no.
No they need each other desperately and neither of them have failed the other.

“Can you just befriend her “
“Even if I do I’ll still see her at work”
“Work what do you mean work”
“She’s my boss where you not listening when I told you a quarter of what she does”
“Not really “
“Your making this argument worst now yes she is my boss but we barley see each other unless we have a meeting and she’s making sure I’m doing good”
“Meeting “
“Yes meeting like I said she is my boss”
“So that means you 2 are in a room with eachother”
“Yes”
“So basically you guys are fucking at work”
“So you really can’t trust me “
“I trust you just not with shuri”
“ yeah shuri is flirtatious but I turn her down every time so why don’t you trust me”
“It’s hard to explain”
“Just explain why you don’t trust me with shuri”
“Because you can be flirtatious which can lead on to cheating “
“So what I’m hearing is you think ima a cheater every time I with shuri”
“No I’m saying you working for shuri can lead to cheating”
“So you want me to not pay bills “
“No you need a job of course “
“Exactly I need to work with shuri”
“No just get a new job”
“Ky talk to me and be honest what is it with you and shuri”
“You got 5 minutes to explain or I’m going to either my friends or my moms house for the next couple nights “
“We-Wel-Well I can’t give a valid reason”
“So you can think oh y/n’s going to cheat but you can’t give a good reason “
“Shi I guess”
“You sound stupid as fuck”
“No I don’t “
“Yes you do your making all these ideas in your head thinking about how I could cheat with shuri yet I told you multiple times how I don’t love her”
“It’s not stupid it’s an observation”
“Well for the next couple nights have A observation on why half the bed is empty”
During the whole conversation you where packing your bags while ky was trying to stop you. You decided you where just going to go to a hotel and stay their for a while because ky needed to understand some things before you could plan the rest of your wedding.
You where going out on a Sunday partying on a Sunday.Do you have work tomorrow hell yeah . Will you go to work drunk, probably .is this a bad idea ,Definitely.
You and Danny where making your way to the club.Danny was your closest friend and you knew each other since kindergarten. “You look so good tonight but the club is probably like empty it’s Sunday”
The club was in fact not empty and quiet it was crowded and loud You didn’t want to drink due to you not wanting to go to work drunk.
They played practice by drake slowly mixing into back that ass up . You would twerk but your skirt was to tiny for twerking ,to much twerking and it would just show ass. Instead you where just going to grind but not to much you still had a fiancé.
No one was behind you until you felt a hand on your waist. The single hand started to make you arch. You started hearing “ohs” and “ahs” lights start to flash .you become confused at that reactions. You turn your head seeing the queen.
I “Shuri what are you doing”
“what are you doing “
“Huh”
“You have a fiancé and your at a club what are you doing “
“Argument”
“May I ask what about-”
“You”
“Me, I feel honored”
“Yes you”
“Why”
“Kyrah”
“What about her”
“She doesn’t believe we can be friends”
“Why”
“Look ,I came to the club so I can forget her I don’t need you to remind me”
“Being feisty huh”
“You would say”
Shuri’s head lays on your shoulder as you guys dance together.Shuri knew how to hold you right. She know her hands placed on the right place could make you melt.
You did miss the world you and shuri created with good and bad times funny and sexy .
Right now you and shuri both where in the world y’all created .

Changes/ things in season 3 that I disliked
the positive season 3 post I made  if you would like to read that as well or instead I will be adding both to that post and this one when part 2 comes out
no im not going to talk about the goddamn costumes, everybody has, I agree and im sick of seeing it  they look cheap and  bad, they need more color they need to look somewhat period appropriate, moving on
We got alot of amazing bonding moments with Ciri and Yennefer but I wish they would have kept the scene where she saved Ciri from the Wild Hunt.  We already got lots of Geralt Ciri bonding moments, we needed as much stuff with Yen being Ciri`s mother as we could possibly get and that was one of the best scenes,
(side note of the stuff we did get while I appreciated and “ my ugly one” scene it felt very random and out of place  especially with how dolled up they made Freya look, she didnt need to have any makeup on I would have liked to see her more tomboyish look from the books)
TWN usually knocks casting out of the park but Robbie Amell  as Gallatin felt so out of place with his acting and trying to hide his accent, and much like the problem with blood origin looks nothing like the other elves and his scar is barley noticeable
I knew he was going to die from when I heard they were going to use an original character instead of  Isengrim or   Iorweth they really did learn from the  Eskel incident. while I didn't like his character his death leads to some amazing character stuff with  Cahir, grappling with his sense of self and loyalty to Emhyr  since they need to have another reason why he changes sides later because of the age gap between him an Ciri in this version
Dijkstra here just doesn't feel like Dijkstra
normally I don't really care if a character doesn't look  exactly like their book counterpart, but    Dijkstra being a huge imposing pigish man is part of his character,   Graham McTavish isn't doing a bad job, there are a few good scenes and he has good chemistry with Cassie`s Philippa but he just doesn't have the right sarcasm,  snark and attitude for the character, even their dynamic is off they’re equally stubborn, arrogant, conniving, and equally think they’re the one dominating the other , book and game  Dijkstra stole every scene he was in and was one of my favorite characters this version is mostly boring
( sidenote but I didnt mind the whipping scene it was clearly not meant to be sexual or that they are in a sexual bdsm  relationship but that Dijkstra is a   Flagellant and that its a stress coping mechanism they engage in as they must trust each other in the underground world)
Tissaia and  Vilgefortz being lovers and  Tissaia`s seemingly ooc behavior
now to be fair with the intrigue aspect of this season I think they might do a bait and switch with this either  Tissaia Is acting this way to lead him on and try to stop him, or  Vilgefortz has control over Tissaia in some way ( he is arguabley the most powerful mage in the world even if she also is)
either that or they put them together so it makes more sense for her to side with him/ Nilfgaardian since they established her as much more an active in this version and not just someone wanting to remain “neutral” like in the books
I just hope that her “ending” has as much impact as it should considering what an important character they made her
Episode 5 is a mixed bag
while there were definitely things that I loved about this episode like the tender  yenralt moments and the use of dialog from the book, as well as the concept of the framing device from the book, but it got way too repetitive in parts, the Valdo song was fun but it overstays its welcome
this episode reminds me of the Leverage episode  “ The Rashomon Job“ while that episode changed things things up every time it went back and told the story from another characters point of view this one doesn't do anything all that creative with it, and your stuck watching a bit of the same exact  scenes over and over again with slightly more information
I imagine this episode will work better when the full season out and we see what its all building up to
and I said I wouldn't  mention the costumes but, the ball was the one time the consumes had to be really stunning, where is all the color, its so dull looking, why do they look like they are doing a red carpet event in the 90s
and I didn't  think it was possible to make Anya look anything less than stunning but this is by far Yennefer’s worst look, it bothered me more than any other visual in the season, nothing works about it, shes supposed to be in a gown with her hair down but she look like a cross between a taky 70s Cher impersonator and a low budget bollywood star
( can some one please draw the TWN actresses in what they are described as wearing in the book like Keira in the green tulle top, Sabrina in the black chiffon blouse and a crimson skirt or Philippa dress lined with diamonds and ermine fur, I will commission you  )
the  casting of  Margarita Laux-Antille completely backfires due to how they wrote her character
Casting a plus sized black woman as a character that is described as white, and extremally conventionally attractive, to spite the gamer dudebros, is a move I like to be clear I love the diversity this show has given us  incredible actresses like Anya and  Anna and Mimi that in past years would have been looked over
but unfortunately they make her character conform to the “ angry black woman stereotype” and hit Ciri despite her character in the books who could be described  as “sweet” and “the cool teacher”   hopefully we will see her  character more like the books with the lodge in the second half of the season
and just general “sins of the father” stuff that is from the books but isn't given proper context for show only fans to understand
like the discussion about aelirenn leaving out that older elves are infertile, or    many things about Aplegatt and his role in the story, the “ my ugly one” line feeling really out of place im sure there is more but thats all I can remember for now,

INTERVIEW WITH ALEX HØGH ANDERSEN: GEEKINESS, CREATIVE URGE AND LIFE AFTER THE VIKINGS
“I'M BASICALLY A HUMAN BEING WHO NEEDS TO BE STIMULATED ALL THE TIME. OTHERWISE I GET CRAZY IN THE HEAD.”

A prison in Riga.
Facial prostheses that begin to bubble below the surface due to sweating, resulting in eczema and barley grains, while a slightly uncomfortable wig keeps sticking to the face - buckets of water and dirt are thrown at the body to make it look like a longer stays at Hotel Tremmely.
A tangle of days, where in one moment you have to tighten your balls so as not to shout in frustration and in the next moment it is hilarious.
The Viking - The Fall of the Drug King was pure rock-n-roll, where the Danish actor Alex Høgh Andersen is highly topical.
Alex Høgh Andersen no doubt knows most from the magnificent period series, Vikings, where he plays the ruthless anti-hero and complex character Ivar the Boneless - almost before he was established as a name back home in Denmark, he never became an important face on a of the greatest series of the time.
We have taken a chat with Alex to hear if he has found a foothold again after the era with the Vikings came to an end and what the future holds for the budding actor and creator.
Alex is a man with a lot of iron in the fire.
In addition to acting, which is his primary career, he is also a co-owner of a watch company, Oliver Green, as well as an ambassador for charities and an ambassador for the Youth Red Cross - and he loves to nerd photography, movies and all sorts of little niche things that just suddenly dumps in front of him from time to time.
In short: it's in progress!
But those are good, important things that make sense to Alex.
Today, Viaplay premieres one of the great documentary series, which goes by the name: The Viking - The Fall of the Drug King.
It goes in depth with the hitherto unheard of story about the drug king Claus Malmqvist, who through a lot of testimonies, evidence and documents from the trial brings new life to the story of one of Denmark's biggest drug criminals - told raw for the unsuspecting in a combination of interviews and fictional creations of reality.

Man flirting and rock-n-roll on the set
It is a series that has been 15 years in the making, where journalist Jeppe Facius has tried to get Malmqvist to speak and agree to tell the story of how close he really was to the million dream, the pension and the happy family life - but loses it all in a final fad, where the ghosts of the past emerge and strain legs for the future prospects.
Goodbye to the millions, the wife and family life - 16 years later he is a changed man who is ready to tell his story to his son.
But it goes deeper than just a gangster's memoirs. In the role of a young Malmqvist, we have Alex Høgh Andersen, who must visually demonstrate some moments and reflections in Malmqvist's turbulent life - and Alex loved the format right from the start.
He already knew the director, Peter Anthony, who made the documentary 'The Man Who Saved the World' - which Alex himself considers a small stroke of genius in the industry.
“It combines documentary and fictional scenes - but makes it look and feel like a documentary throughout. That authenticity is something that is piss-hard to recreate - and therefore it was drone-interesting to be part of The Viking.”
To get completely under the skin of the character and the phenomenon that Claus Malmqvist is, Alex started meeting him for small sessions out in his house in Valby.
Or at a sushi restaurant with a bottle of room to share. Or for a chat over a Paella in Malaga.
It was about looking at each other.
“It has taken a lot of man-flirting to get him to talk.”
He asked at least as many questions back to Alex to find out who the little kid was who was running around and had to portray himself.
“It's a huge privilege to be in my industry - when in the world would you be able to sit down and talk to a former drug lord over a cup of coffee?”
Via a solid round of 'ask me about everything', he got closer to the person, but Claus is a complex person who prefers to keep the cards close and let others speak for him.
“It's not always easy with Claus. But fortunately he has been very involved in the project - it was rare that he was not on the set when we recorded the scenes.”
And committed? It was him.
All the way down to such an extent that he commented on the details of a sex scene where he gave tips and tricks on how it really went under the duvets in his time for Alex.
“It was a great pleasure to hear him explain how he has sex!”
Claus was basically a rock sitting in his armchair - you knew he was sitting with all the cards for the story, but he was hard to wake up in front of the camera.
Maybe it was a defense mechanism. Maybe it was something that came too close at times anyway.
It was an interesting task as an actor to experiment with the balance between the documentary and the fiction, as actors are used to a narrative from start to finish - here Alex instead had to live out the impact on Claus' life, which then had to be realized through an understanding of, what was really going on with him in the given period.
It was almost impossible to get into character long enough to gain a foothold.
“It was a difficult format as an actor. There were no bound stories, and I knew very little about the story - the script was constantly rewritten.”

A creative provincial kid with fire in his ass
Like so many others in the creative profession, his fascination with creating something and entertaining is rooted in a fundamental inability to sit still on the chair at school.
His mother tried to find a channel through which Alex could get an outlet for his energy level, which in Alex's own words tended to a diagnosis - and here the mother found the solution.
He was enrolled in some local theater in the city.
Even he thought it was fucking annoying.
Where he came from in Skælskør, they played either football or handball as a young boy.
“Suddenly I had to stand on the stage with jazz hands - it was very strange, I think. But momma knows best. I absolutely fell in love with the concept and remembering lines, meeting new people and performing on stage.”
Then he entered the Fairy Tale Theater, where he was simply confirmed that he was on the trail of the real career. He then took the step into Film and Media Studies at the University of Copenhagen to focus on all the fronts that he found interesting to immerse himself in.
Deep down, he was still a provincial boy at heart and a little pessimistic about the glamorous life as an actor - so he should have a safety net at the time.
“Acting is one of the most relentless industries one can be in. So I always had in my head that I should have something to fall back on.”
For him, he still had the attitude that the trip to LA with all the industry, the glamor and the wild Hollywood life was something distant to him.
So rather a Tuborg Classic at the local bodega with friends.
But all of a sudden, it was not so much a question of whether he should travel to Hollywood - Hollywood came to him.
He got the role as one of Ragnar Lodbrog's sons in Vikings - Ivar den Benløse.
Originally, he applied for the roles of the other boys in the son of Ragnar, until a producer came and tapped him on the shoulder, indicating that he should try to go after Ivar.
When Ragnar's throne was taken away from him during the Vikings' bloody course of action, the sons took over the limelight, of which the notorious anti-hero snuck into the hearts of viewers as the bestial, vulnerable and deeply conflicting male character Ivar the Benless.
And here Alex was thrown headlong into fame.
Fans chasing him on the street and millions of followers on Instagram.
But for him, life is not tied up in glamor, stellar reputation, the pursuit of followers and fame on social media.
“At that point, I'm very boring and classic in terms of how I perceive an actor. I do not think people should see that I eat an avocado food before I go into the set. People do not need to know who I am - I need to stay as neutral as possible in this world where everyone has their own channels.”
For him, it is about holding on to the joy of work and not being seduced or corrupted by the pursuit of prestige in the world and social media.
But fame has also brought a lot of good with it, and Alex stands stronger than ever in relation to the next step in his career.

In the wake of the Vikings
After 3.5 years of filming in Ireland with the Vikings, one thing was seriously cemented for Alex.
“Now I'll damn well have to bet on that acting hallucination. Now it's going too well for me to ignore.”
In his own words, Alex calls himself a greenhorn at the point where the Vikings' career began.
And even though it was a huge step up the career ladder to step into Ivar's universe, it all happened at the right pace.
But it was still a huge upheaval in his life.
To start on such a large and comprehensive job that takes all your time and makes you drop out of university and travel to a foreign country as a 21-year-old.
That you suddenly have to act on social media with campaigns, SoMe appearances and hardcore fans pouring in and stopping you on the street.
“We had already been working on our roles for a year before we were announced to the people. So we had just landed in our respective roles and universes.”
Fortunately, Alex always has a base at home in Denmark, where the population is a little more relaxed.
“I've been to places in the world where you can not sit in a bar without people queuing up for an autograph. Here, Denmark is much more down to earth.”
And it made him think about who he really was and where he stood in the entire entertainment industry.
It may be that he was a big thing in the big world, but how did it fit together here in Denmark?
“The funny thing about such a huge series is that it is primarily the audience that sees it - not so many industry people.”
So even though Alex can boast over 2 million followers and an immortal character in Vikings - it's not necessarily the same as the industry people trooping up in front of his door with one script after another.
“There was a fun transition phase where people just had to realize that I was done with the Vikings and still 'existed', so to speak.”
After Corona, he's in a really good place now, and it's going on. Maybe also a little too much at once if you ask Alex's closest, but he feels very privileged and feels best in a controlled chaos.
It was great for him to return to the Danish setting on Ole Bornedal's 'The Shadow in My Eye', which was a somewhat different genre than he had been used to for many years.
Again as an antihero who is ultimately the kind of character that interests Alex higher than others.
“The most interesting characters are those where the actor is in doubt about whether they should stick with the character or not - and can make the audience ask questions about themselves.”
Now Alex has reached the point in his life where he has plenty of time to choose the right projects that can pave the way forward for his career.
“Now it's really about finding interesting projects that challenge me. Now it's about convincing the industry and the audience that I can do much more than shouting and screaming in Icelandic with blood on my face.”
Tumblr media

Photography as a stimulus
“I am basically a human being who needs to be stimulated all the time. Otherwise I will go crazy in the head.”
In addition to the noble acting, Alex goes to great lengths to take pictures.
He has, so to speak, always taken pictures and began to seriously find interest in capturing snapshots at the age of 13 years.
Photography is for him a form of self-therapy.
When he worked at the Vikings, he was on the set every single day and there is a lot of waiting time. He just walked around the set when his name was not on shot for the day's recordings and snapped loose by various extras with beards down to the navel and in full makeup.
Here he began to seriously dive into portrait art and capture faces. He used the time to immerse himself in photography to capture moments.
And that's really the essence of his work - whether he's in front of or behind the camera - to create.
And before it sounds too snobby and high-flying - then we are also talking about something as simple and value-creating in everyday life as collecting LEGO.
“As recently as yesterday, I had a little session in the LEGO store, where I dream away to the famous Millennium Falcon on the shelf.”
Basically, Alex is a nerd by the grace of God.
When it's not just about photos and movies, he just suddenly and spontaneously discovers the love of basketball.
Or American football. Right now it's a lot about Formula 1.
And that is also reflected in his bid for what his dream project would be if he had free play.
“Then I transformed myself into a Sith apprentice or Sith lord in some Star Wars universe. Probably not a series, but a new trilogy and try to rectify the last three disasters in the franchise.”
A talk that could continue for an eternity between two nerds and which resulted in a series of less flattering adjectives about the new trilogy.
A talk that rhymes with religion-brainwashed jedis, measuring pee men with the movie budget and painful misunderstandings to fans.
We'll take it further in a dedicated article for another day, Alex!
Right now he has a lot of projects, both at home and abroad, that are on the horizon, which he - for good reasons - can not unveil yet.
What he can reveal, however, is that on the next project, he has moved behind the camera to direct his first TV series with his friend Magnus Haugaard.
“We got a stupid idea that turned out to be a really good idea.”
He has already got the director elements under his skin, as certain days on the recordings for the Vikings were shrouded in spontaneity, rock-n-roll and learn-by-doing.
“Stop now, where we had many days at Vikings, where me, another actor and a brand new, piss-nervous director stood in the morning and had to make a scene work from a first draft.”
He can find out.
He has learned to make scenes work, instruct himself and the scenes. The script front and framing a scene with words is where he lacks a little more knowledge.
He has already made a small short film, which according to Alex will NEVER see the world - and that it is obviously for the best.
While we wait to see what the next steps in Alex's career will be, from today ( 28/4 2022 ) we can watch his new TV series The Viking: The Fall of the Drug King on Viaplay.
We say thank you for your time and look forward to standing first in the ticket queue for your upcoming Sith movie!

I know that tonight we have two lone star episodes, and who knows what will happen there, but, could it actually be that s4 of freaking Lone Star was overall (because there were storylines that made no sense like the Carlos being married) way better than s6 of OG?!?!? How is that possible?!? I can't believe it, but at this time, I will say it is, and that is mind blowing
Sorry I didn't get to this before but...I honestly got whiplash from BOTH LS and OG's finales and neither in a particularly good way. I said in another post that it was odd that LS was supposed to have a wedding ended up being depressing AF for like, 99% of the 2 hours while OG was supposed to be suspenseful and everyone in major danger and then it was like, 15 minutes with cool stunts but barely a chance to feel an emotion before everyone was saved much less hit an actual emotional beat, and the last 20 was them pretending nothing bad just happened and everyone was fine so they could make time for their 25 guest characters and forced LI's.
I will say that I don't fully take issue with the CONTENT of the LS finale (still not happy about Gabriel's death after barley getting to see him and Carlos talk and share scenes just the two of them but I can deal with it and GOD Rafa is a force to be reckoned with), so much as I think it was WAY too much/too heavy to pack into the end of the season and should have been spread out to give those really emotional storylines some space to breathe and to not clash so heavily with the fun, joyful vibe I think they WANTED to have for the wedding.
the OG finale needed to focus so much more on the firefam being hurt and in danger and talking to each other! Remember when Hen got trapped in the earthquake and the team is frantic looking for her? And we KNOW she makes it out, but she leaves that voicemail for Karen that absolutely reduces me to tears every time? Remember when Buck gets crushed and how everyone is vibrating trying to get to him and we see Maddie watching him on TV and the crowd rushing in to help save him? This episode could have had that same kind of emotional build, with the bonus that this emergency actually has every main character re-facing a trauma of theirs! There was SO much they could have done! Hen was the first out, but she was heavily concussed and we could have seen Buck needing her help to get Eddie and her not being able to and him having to leave Eddie to go save Chim, and we could have had more with Athena having to sit by Bobby and not be able to help him and the team fighting together to get to him. I just....don't understand how you have the whole setup for a PERFECT episode right there and then...don't do anything with it. It's 6x11 not focusing on the firefam and their emotional moments with their Buck all over again!
ANYWAY. I'm glad it's hiatus time. I'm gonna read some fics and maybe finally work on mine too. ABC, ball is in your court.
