Decided to turn my late kitty into a Lackadaisy character for fun.

Madam Stella, the fly on the wall. She always has one ear turned for new gossip, but her information isn't free. She knows something about everyone. But frivolous gossip is merely a hobby. Nobody actually knows what she does for a living, especially considering she's single and filthy rich. Hmmm. 🤔

Please keep in mind, I've only watched the pilot animation and the teaser for season 1, so please don't spoil me on anything. I'm waiting on the hardback volumes from the backer rewards to read it! But just based on what little I know of this series, I ADORE it!!

i decided to answer this for all of my yandere ocs bc im a sucker for found family/single parent tropes 🫶 cw! spoilers for future ocs + mentions of child neglect

🚼 the yanderes x single parent darling

⛪️ | abraham would be a bit surprised, to say the least. but he comes from a community where people get married and have kids the moment they’re out of high school (if not the moment they become adults) so while he would be sort of caught off guard, he’d adapt pretty quickly. he’d definitely fantasize about becoming a little family unit, probably even subtly propose the idea of expanding every so often. he wouldn’t exactly love your child — at least, definitely not the way he loves you — but you wouldn’t be able to tell with how well he treats them.

🚬 | the delinquents would be more like four older brothers more than anything. theyre all a bit too young to take on a proper parental role, nor would any of them have a real desire to, but they’d definitely have fun sharing their singular shared braincell with your kid. your child would probably grow up to be a massive little troublemaker thanks to their influence, but that’s why you love them, right? if the other parent is still involved one way or another though, they’d immediately put a stop to that. no reason to be involved with your ex now that they’re in the picture.

🌲 | mykolas would be curious of your child. he’s never seen such a young human up close before (considering he was always accused of eating them) so having a chance to actually be around one would be a new experience for him. he’d quickly start to refer to your child as his own, calling them his cub more than their name and carry them around on his shoulders or head whenever they go out together. it wouldn’t be uncommon to see him protectively curled up around them while they’re taking a nap.

🪸 | similarly to mykolas, the mermaids would be sort of curious about your child, though arguably less so as they have seen human children before. they have a very vague understanding of how to care for your child and would constantly search the sea for things that could come in handy for caring for them — you can expect to have a constant supply of eroded toys and suspiciously good quality clothes for them. they’d also try to teach them things that they’d teach the fry of their pods, though obviously they can only do so much teaching something that isn’t meant to live in the sea lol.

💪 | valentina grew up as a parentified older sibling, so while she wouldn’t particularly enthused about taking the role again so soon after getting out of it, she’d be capable of adapting to the role. she knows how to take care of a child and would ensure your kid’s cared for when they’re being watched by her, but she probably wouldn’t be able to establish much of an emotional connection to them without making an active effort to. but she does love children, so she’d learn to love yours too.

👑 | althea would hate your child. plain and simple. she’d view them as the living embodiment of you not keeping your promise to her, of you giving your love to someone else before she had the chance to have you to herself. while she’d never overtly mistreat your child, she’d be incredibly cold toward them and try to find reasons to avoid interacting with them. they’d be spoiled relentlessly with the hopes that if she gave them everything they’d need to live, neither you or her would have to deal with them.

🥩 | rhodes wouldn’t think much of your kid for the most part, but they’d express a gentle fondness for them the few times they do meet them. they’d affectionately greet them, offer them a treat, and hold a little conversation with them to keep them busy for a bit while you run errands or eat or whatever you need to do. they’re kind of awkward with children given they have nothing in common with them and have little experience with them, but surprisingly they’re a natural with yours.

🫀 | melchior has no interest in human kids. therefore they wouldn’t care much for yours, seeing your child more like a pet or something along those lines rather than a sapient being. their treatment of them would reflect that; they wouldn’t be necessarily mean or anything, but they’d be a bit patronizing and talk at them more than they’d talk to them. it isn’t out of malice, they’d genuinely think that that’s how you interact with children and any attempts to correct them would be met with confusion and frowns.

🕷️ | the alt kids would be wonderful parents to your kid. they’d more or less be sort of a mix of abe and the delinquents, but with the added bonus that they’d care deeply for your child as they’d see them as an extension of you rather than a mix of you with someone else. they’d come up with a system to help your child have a good upbringing and stick with it — faust would take up helping them study, anton would teach them manners and etiquette, and delta would help them with their social life. they’re so good for you and your child, see? they live for the idea that them treating your child well and loving them will make you love them all more in turn.

Well. Not new. I’ve had Grey for a while but never got around to making their introduction LMAO but here we go!! They’re probably my favourite oc besides Step ofc. Lore beneath the cut (for anyone interested!!)

I have. No idea where to start LMAO but I’ll try to make this short and concise for everyone’s sanity. Might make a more cohesive version later. Here goes:

Grey was built as an early generation two iterator, the second oldest in their local group. Their initial name was Solace in Absolution, or just Solace for short. Their local group goes as follows, from oldest to youngest:

“Wander”ing Asunder - he/him - late 1st generation

“Solace” in Absolution - they/them - early 2nd generation

Disruption of “Clarity” - he/they/vir - mid 3rd generation*

“Drift”ing Petals - he/him - late 3rd generation*

Clear Golden “Sky” - she/it/they - mid 4th generation

*Clarity and Drift had their projects started at the same time, but Drift’s took longer to complete due to the rough terrain and bitterly cold tundras surrounding their can.

Solace was never well acquainted with their local group and was appointed as an honorary group senior because of Wander’s inability to lead. They never really clicked with their group either due to their cold pessimism.

They never really liked the ancients due to their admins, (guy #1, whom I haven’t named yet) and Effervescent’s combined efforts to make them feel like Shit™ !!

After a while, the desire to just up and leave became unbearable.

However, another member of their High Council named Paradox (design still pending) saw their laments in a pearl, took pity on them, and gave them pirated instructions on how to go off the string, basically.

Idk, don’t ask me how that works because I’ve got No Idea.

While the ancients are still around, Solace… Doesn’t really know what to do with it. They just kind of modify the blueprints a little more to their desire. (And yes, those claws are just as sharp as they appear to be.)

When the ancients dipped, they saw their chance and decided to leave!! But not before they have a spat with the entirety of their local group and get their seniority status revoked lol. But they’ve left now and there’s no going back. And. Well.

In hindsight, this was a terrible decision for everyone involved.

Immediately after their departure from their can, they are attacked by another iterator. They’re nearly killed before a patrol of scavengers take notice, and a particular scavenger named Lindel saves them and chases the other iterator off! Unfortunately this event also just cements their hate of other iterators outside their local group :(

They join the scavenger patrol and are adopted + named Grey by the scavengers!! Wahoo!!

(The art here is a little outdated but the lore is still applicable!)

The scavengers teach them how to make bombs and sharpen rebar to make spears, and, in turn, Grey teaches them how to make electric spears, flashbangs, and singularity bombs from the rarefaction cells of killed iterators :) friendship yippee!!

And. Yeah! That’s what I got so far :) One more thing…

Unfortunately I don't know any that would work well for male/masculine characters (though some of the following could work, especially if the character is very young)

Okay okay okay I just I need to let out all these ideas I have for one singular TF2 OC

Keep in mind that I've never made an OC before so if this is really shittily written and thought out that's why

Okay so her name is Bella. At first it was just a few thoughts like: haha I wonder how spy would deal with a random child or lol I bet pyro gets along great with kids. Then I got an idea. What if I gave Heavy a FOURTH sister, and the reason we didn't see her during the comics is because she was busy playing with dolls in her room. She's a little girl, so what if she managed to sneak herself into all of Heavy's luggage and undetectedly be carried back to America with Heavy. Stuff happens, yada yada, she ends up staying at the base with all the mercs.

I just. I think some mercs would end up having great bonds with her, and others (Spy the sly and Medic gaming) not so much. Take Engineer for example: I think he'd definitely be too happy about not being the shortest person there, so much so he'd probably pick on her a little about her height. But I also think he'd make a great father figure and would end up teaching her a lot inside the workshop.

Scout would probably have an older sibling type vibe to him, same goes for Pyro. While Pyro would play with her and enjoy doing kid stuff, Scout is an overconfident white boy who would take on a "mean" older brother role. He'd be an absolute dick, same as he is to everyone, but I think he'd have his moments where she and he could connect.

Medic. I have SO SO SO many ideas for this. Heavy is her older brother, yeah? She snuck into his stuff and came with because she was afraid of being away from/losing him. Now this psychotic German comes along and is taking all of Heavy's attention. How is Bella gonna react? Poorly. She's probably jealous and will glare at poor Medic when his back is turned. I think the two have a bit of friendly(?) competition going on.

Soldier is... Well... The Uncle™. He dated her sister Zhanna some point (due to me being a Freedom Fries enjoyer, Zhanna and Soldier split up but are still friends :]) so she probably likes having him around. He frequently went to her home in Russia to see her sister, so it's expected that Bella and Soldier are a bit close, because he's probably still considered a part of the family by Zhanna. Soldier will make her medals every time she does something patriotic and frequently teaches her about (incorrect) history. He has also taken her rocket jumping a few times, unbeknownst to Heavy.

Demoman probably has around the same deal going on as Soldier. He's friends with Soldier, so he's automatically okay in her book. Sometimes he'll sneak her a sip of his scrumpy, and he tells her what "a good laddie" she is everytime she runs him an errand or gives him a hug. These two have a very friendly bond I think.

Spy is... Well... A sneaky 🚩French🚩 man. While he also hangs around Soldier a lot, I have a feeling Bella and him just generally avoid each other. He's not very good with kids (cough cough the Scout situation cough) and probably isn't very fond of them either, and She doesn't like him because he's rude and kind of creepy. He can just disappear whenever he wants and lurks around in the shadows in his spare time? Hell no. She is generally uncomfortable around him, and Spy is... Spy.

Sniper. Actually, despite what most would think, I think these two would be pretty okay with each other. Not as close as Bella and some of the others of course, but they co-exist contently. They're very similar. She doesn't talk much, same as Sniper. She's a bit introverted. She likes avoiding confrontation. The two just have mutual respect for each other. Sometimes she'll find him sitting on the roof of the base and they'll just lay there silently together, simply enjoying the company. I think I'll have the most fun drawing her and Sniper's moments together.

WOW that's a lot of words. Conclusion: I want the mercs to take care of this kid. If you have any questions about her, I'd gladly answer an ask. (PLEASE TALK TO ME I'M DESPERATE :])

My Characters

Thought I might as well do this since I like how a few of my in-game characters turned out, so here's my roster so far (subtracting a few that are in limbo). Tried to put it in order to most to least used. I'm not one to make my in-game characters as OCs, but I still like to give them a name/aesthetic/theme that matches together (and colour-coordinated) so it sort of seems like they could (also for fashion wars reasons. Name above their respective images below). Also I like giving them singular names. (oh gosh I really hope this automatically shrinks the length of the post bc it's not giving me the "Read More" option >_>') My Main: Vespaura (Mesmer/Mirage). Crystal Bloom/Branded themed. Still waiting for proper crystal aesthetic looks lol (none available in game atm are what I'm looking for). I'm pretty much on her almost all of the time since I'm a ho for Open world and I love GS lasers, clones, portals, and evasion hax (I'm squishy so I need the survivability and sustain, and I tag almost everything, so it works well when doing metas and stuff).

Mourynn (Necromancer/Scourge) - This is the one I took my OC's name from lol, so it's funny seeing her in game bc I forget sometimes lsjflksf. I Tried to make her look like an infected/toxic/poisonous Awakened Nightmare Courtier Duchess, and the squiggly tentacles are meant to portray turning into the necrotic glider below. I really wanna get her a bunch of Mordy and Zhaitan leggies (one day~)

Ferahla (Revenant/Renegade) - I actually updated her back piece and colours a bit since this new back piece was released bc it fit her look much more. I tried to make her look gnarly (also this outfit makes her look a bit nakey, but I'm kind of okay with that tbh alsjflskdjf), and I'm trying to match her to the Chuka leggy for whenever I get around to finishing it. Renegade is also one of my favourite specs cuz I like being at ranged and having the support of Kalla and her Lesbian Warband.

Faihan (Ranger/Soulbeast) - I still adore her look and her name is one of my favourites too. I was sort of going for a pheonix/firebird Hunter (bloodborne) kinda vibe. I couldn't decide between capes so she has one for Power and one for Condi. Also it's tricky to dress for leather armour, so I like how this turned out.

Vaipaura (Mesmer/Virtuoso) - All my mesmers have similar names bc I think it's funny to headcanon they're just different AUs of each other (not gonna show Chrono here bc she's in Limbo. Her name is Vastaura). I wanted to give Vaipaura a Regal Canthan Noble Madam kinda vibe (also I just love the combo of this outfit and backpiece). She also has Exordium cuz it also matches this look too. However I still heavily prefer playing Mirage bc despite this one being great for DPS and very neat. It's just super squishy with not a lot of survivability/sustain and no clones to distract, and it feels so slow, but regardless it is still fun to play as well (I just miss spamming dodge all the time :( I also miss my clones)

Mortesque (Necromancer/Reaper) - I'm not 100% sure if this will be the final look for her or not, but I was mostly just trying to match her to Zhaitan's Bite when I finally unlocked it a little while back. As you can tell I really like greatswords (the only 3 leggies I have are GS lol)

Shroudryss (Thief/Specter) - My newest sapling. I'm stll not 100% sure about the outfit, but it'll do for now. Specter is really fun!! I really like fancy magical mobile classes. I need to play thief way more tbh since it's more of less up my alley (this one will be my first to go to)

Jadesta (Engineer/Mechanist) - Her name and look are very on the nose. HOWEVER I am proud of the name I gave to her mech: Caladborg (also I really like the Aetherblade look here and at least it's easy/fun to give her stuff for fashion wars)

Prismysta (Revenant/Herald) - I wanted to make her fit the pretty pearlescent look of Glint's facets, and I did want one light-themed cute character. Also there was just so many pretty pieces that wouldn't work with Vespaura that I thought it'd work well for her!

Hexirax (Thief/Daredevil) - I still super need to change her name bc it for sure as hell does not suit her at all lmao!! But since I still needed a pink Sylvari, I thought it would be funny to make it my Daredevil (also the weapon worked well for this so I made her Sakura themed. Her outfit is still subject to change if I find something better)

Vallotash (Guardian/Dragonhunter) - Still not sure what to do with her yet (might switch her elite spec, idk yet), but I'm still super proud of her name and I forgot I made this look on her. I like the colour combo, and I still might keep it (subject for change tho, but I don't hate it)

On Rain World's Iterator Names

Aside LttM whose name doesn't quite fit my model, other iterator names seem to be following a [descriptor] [noun] format, where nouns can be either singular or plural and descriptors can be one or multiple words (eg. Seven Red Suns) and can include negations (No Significant Harassment).

Considering our "sample" common descriptors seem to include colours and numbers, as well as potentially "-ing" form of verbs (i don't remember how those are called. lol). Adjectives, generally.

A few iterators seem to be named using a modified convention/system, [blank] of [blank] like Sliver of Straw.

(As for coming up with names: the string of words can be anything, but i would personally recommend staying clear from anything too odd (and "odd" is subjective. One of the characters literally has BOTH "significant" and "harassment right there, next to eachother)/hard to pronounce (eg. One of my iterator OCs is named Three Braided Disks instead of three Woven Disks to streamline pronunciation, but that's a me thing) amd I like to stay mindful of numbers of syllables and where stress is so that it sounds nice.)

About: Esther was born on March 20th 1994, in a very small rural community outside of Atlanta, Georgia to the local pastor David Shea and his wife Mary. She's the youngest of three, her sister Sarah is ten years older and Michael is four years older. She didn't fit in very well as a child due to being skipped ahead several grades. Her parents did the best they could to make her childhood a happy one and for the most part succeeded despite their deep poverty. She graduated from Harvard University at eighteen with her Ph.D in Psychiatry, focusing on childhood and religious trauma. Esther participated in competitive archery while in University and was champion three years in a row. She met John Seed in a nightclub not long after, and they dated for a year before she moved to Montana. During that year she'd worked as a social worker but quit from burnout when the systems flaws kept her from saving a child in an abusive home. She and John married and lived very happily for around two years despite her passive aggressive conflict with Joseph. Until one night after an argument with Joseph went too far. She and John attempted to leave Eden's Gate and Hope County but Joseph ran them off the road into the river. Now three years later the Reaping is in full swing, John and the rest of the county believe she's dead. And she's trapped in a bunker by Joseph with her children working to escape. Esther is 5"0, 98lbs, long copper red hair, big brown doe eyes. Fair skinned and covered in freckles with an hourglass figure. A fairly small, delicate woman. She has two tattoos given to her by John. The Seven virtues in latin under her right breast and a small bumblebee with John's initials on her pelvis. Later in her story she has the word PRIDE carved into her left shoulder blade by Joseph.

Does your OC have anything to share?: "Esther is an accomplished archer and equestrian. She is quite good at mounted archery and being as petite as she is she favours stealth and ambushes if she has to fight."

About: She's from the post-canon au of Far Cry 3 where Jason becomes a merc! Filipino Aeta girl, she's also a starting journalist and meets Jason and his team in the middle of a warzone in Southern Philippines. she's very sweet, polite and always optimistic, she also doesn't seem very smart because of that but she is. she knows how to handle a bow and arrow and Jason teaches her how to use guns in their story.

Anything else we should know?: "she's very small! like say about 5'1 or so. so it's possible she could use her size to her advantage LOL"

About: wes beltran considers himself a generally calm person, and this is true until his friends are in danger. staci and joey are his only family in hope county, and he'd do anything for them. after the seeds take them from him, his singular goal is to rescue them at any cost. at first, he agrees to help the resistance, because the more people fighting the cult the better, but the second any task doesn't directly help him get joey back from john (his first goal), he'll ditch it. he doesn't want to waste time, he wants to get right to joey, and also get his hands bloody punishing the people who have hurt her. after he gets accustomed to his brand new bloodlust, he prefers to use knives/blades/shovels to kill cultists over guns. it's more personal and painful for them. this is especially so with john seed! killing him from a distance with a gun would take all the reward out of killing john. also, it turns out that john seed's obsession with him scratches a very particular, desperate, life-long need inside wes to find someone who loves him more than anything, and his priorities after he rescues joey starts to blur into something that includes soaking up john's obsessive love forever and ever so he can (maybe, possibly) finally feel so full of love he'll never starve for it again! that's not to say john and wes don't beat the shit out of each other, because they do, most notably at wes's confession where wes beats john over the head with a metal pipe to rescue joey, and at wes's atonement, where john tattoos wes and then wes hunts john down until john gets the upper hand and steals him away to his bunker where, you guessed it, they beat the shit out of each other again. when marshal burke dies, wes blames the resistance. staci suffers near-death torment at the hands of jacob seed, and wes can't reconcile this with the idea that the resistance cares at all, because he's so sucked up in the well-being of his own two best friends. eventually, consumed with his mutual obsession for john seed, wes joins the cult and becomes john's right hand man and favorite chosen. he doesn't particularly take pleasure in torturing or killing innocents, but his loyalty to john has cemented itself and he'd do anything for him, just as he'd do anything for joey & staci. plus they still get to make each other bleed without politics also boomer is his bestie :)

since you have a lot of thoughts of whats out there in the toontown universe i wanna throw my 2 sents: so "toons" is short for carTOONS, the much is obvious. but as you & i both know cartoons can be so much more than your typical loonytunes slapstick humor. so i like to think there are other islands out there which represents a different genre, such as: a fantasy adventure land, a sci-fi land, a western land, a horror thriller land, a rom-com land, a detective mystery land, a preschool land. so on so forth. with all their own unique animation styles. with the only consistent thing is that all the land's inhabitants are anthropomorphic animals (GOLLY sorry if this is long)

this MAY be ttcc specific but aside from some ttcc details, this could apply to just... toontown in general. but i am a ttcc blog and that's my hyperfixation so that's what i'll talk about.

i love that idea! honestly, something like that is what i've had in mind, too! maybe not everything being placed on island - but a majority of them being. (perhaps similar themes being on bigger islands or just masses of land with some wilderness and such between?)

i already have my idea for a prehistoric toon land, but it's also still based on your looney tunes type cartoon - just populated completely by dinosaurs! it's where my OC, archie archaeopteryx comes from.

an idea like this in general would allow for a lot of interesting places to be made, stories to be told, characters to be made... all that could eventually get into toontown and interact with our typical toons and interact together in interesting ways and have jokes and themes based around their different animation styles and genres.

it would also let the toons to be expanded upon even more, since, in my opinion at least, ttcc can lack that a little bit in some ways. (but going out of my way to look at toons a bit more rather than just the cogs does bring some small interesting things into the light, even if just singular pieces of dialogue, lol. sadly, i don't have examples on my mind right now.) i'm a big cog fan and all, but i wanna see more from the toons! but then again, we play in the role of the toons - so i suppose that's our stories to tell! :]

I also like the idea of everything being anthro animals (ignore the fact i'm a furry for a second) it just allows for more fun, diversity, and just consistency. human-ness being reserved for cogs is what makes this work more in my opinion, but even with that not even all cogs are humanoid. (i am so glad ttcc brought us more robotic cog designs!!)

but the sheer contrast of a human-like robot interacting with ANY cartoon animal is what works in it's favor, y'know? makes the division more clear - even if there's a lot of stories and themes of these lines being blurried more. (like cog and toon friendship -> william and rain, misty in general, whatever dave has for the player toon, thomas warming up to the toons...) which i really like! gives more ideas for stories to be told and explored, and question the laws and logic of the world.

i guess this could also explain art style changes and design choices - like, for example, i don't exactly like the way flesh colored snouts look, it just doesn't fit my art style and so i leave them out. obviously, that's for all toons i draw - and honestly all art styles for just our regular toons are to be loved and celebrated. but y'know, this doesn't have to be! just a little idea i wanted to throw on the table as well.

one thing that could be interesting would just be different medias - i know toontown is a 3d game based on traditionally animated cartoons - but imagine the mixing you could do in art and in story telling! a classic cartoon coming across a pixar-esque cgi animated cartoon and them interacting, both baffled by one another - but still connected by their tooniness deep down!

it's a really interesting idea i like, thank you for sharing this with me and letting me ramble a bit! now, i'm going to list some genres or artstyles that i would like to see! based VERY OBVIOUSLY on my personal interests.

old kids edutainment game, i'm talking 90s - early 2000s. the jankier animation, bit-crushed voice acting, pretty off-model art... but all just very jolly and meaning to educate a young audience! could mix in cgi elements as well, since old games like this would have this. and y'know, some of these would be based on pre-existing thing.

honestly, just old games like that in general... the type of ones you don't see a lot, especially when spoken about online between more mainstream gaming places... but games you probably owned! games of mysterious origins, with very good charm tied to them despite their obvious lower production value... but maybe also something like pf magic petz! oh i'd die i'd love to see petz toons running around - except perhaps more anthro, but still four-legged since there are cartoons of non bipedal animals living more human-like lives.

just... digital in general? perhaps low poly cgi... listen i just like old games and their vibe. but we could do modern animated cartoon toons! both things from studios - but also indie things!

eastern european slav cartoon toons - hey, that's where i am from! i grew up with a lot of cartoons from here (czechia), russia and poland! (these being the most notable obviously) and... the themes, animation styles and vibes are very different to anything anywhere else in the world! i would love to see that! obviously, this is hinted at older cartoons - but newer modern ones could apply, too! i'm just unfamiliar with those.

a bit more on the previous topic, since my country has a big history of this type of animation... stopmotion and/or claymation!!

i'm NOT a comic book person, but oh my god would comic book toons be interesting to see! i don't even mean super hero - just comic book style in general! comes from someone who's only comics they read and own were like... my little pony, astérix and obélix, tom and jerry, smurfs and some ducktales. very toony things!

now, most of these relate to art mediums and art styles... i think those are a bit more interesting than genres, since after all art is an art medium, and genres come second. soo many possibilities. thought there are some genres i think would be interesting to see!

detective/noir type toon world? a mysterious place filled with crimes and mysteries to be solved! could make call-backs to things like scooby-doo, too!

kid's cartoon, like you've said! something cute, fluffy, there to entertain the whole family and teach the kids a valuable lesson. not to be a bluey enjoyer on main here but... bluey toons. that would be very very cute, i think.

on that note, one could argue there could be an adult animated cartoon place, but considering a place like toontown we probably want to keep things pg 13... maybe not! but it's still a possibility - as long as you take inspiration from good animation made for adults. i will not be naming any names here...!

okay, this one is MORE an art genre/style thing but... illustrated children's book type thing? maybe not for VERY young kids, but still filled with fun stories and anthro cartoon animals regardless! could appear as 2d cutouts.

medieval toons, but in the art style of medieval styled drawings...! based on old tales and fables! could also mix with some fantasy elements, of course!

PART 1: Chapter 3 -

Error: Friend not found.

Throughout time, it was believed that bridges were gateways to other realms and dimensions, and this is what some people believed supernatural creatures such as ghosts used to cross into the world of the living.

Now would be a good time to be anyone but me.

 Chills swept up my spine and down my limbs as I felt frozen in place at the sight before me. Mind clouded with anxiety and confusion, I racked my brain to see if I could come to even a singular conclusion to why Kay had evaporated into thin air.

Breaking through my fuzzed up thoughts, I went with my first idea. Sprinting to where I had last seen her leaning on the other side of the bridge, I practically threw the top half of my body over the edge.

My wide eyes glared into the depths below, scanning intently for any sign that she had fallen in. A circle of ripples, bubbles, anything! But to my bewilderment, nothing revealed any indication that she had landed in the water. Well, now that I come to think of it, if she had fallen, there would’ve been at least some noise. Whether it was a splash, or her screaming as she fell.

I breathed a small sigh in relief as I semi-ruled out the possibility. But the unease swept back like a wave, as I remembered that I was currently alone, in the middle of the woods, with nothing but a thin waterproof coat to keep me warm.

The next couple minutes was spent retracing my steps as I returned to the clearing, the whole time I called Kay’s name, straining my ears through the noise of the birds and trees for any sort of reply.

I eventually returned to the bridge, with the intent of returning to the car park to see if Kay had ended up there, and worst case scenario, report her missing.

I switched on my phone’s torch, in order to navigate my way back in the now dying light, whilst nothing but panic pumped at high speed through my veins, my head still clogged with questions about what happened.

Tears pricked at my eyes at the thought of my missing friend and being alone in the middle of nowhere. Nothing like this should happen unless it was a horror movie! What caused her to disappear? How did she vanish so quickly and quietly? I wiped at my glassy eyes, black mascara now smudged on my hand and probably my face. I pushed on and started my way over the bridge.

It was now dark, with only my phone bearing a sphere of light to illuminate what was in front of me. I lifted my head to look ahead, only to stagger to a stop, shock crashing over me for the second time this evening - only this time it was impossible to try and come up with an explanation.

It seemed to shimmer and glitter in the light of my torch, and all I could do for a moment was peer at it with nothing but bafflement as I tried to wrap my head around what I was witnessing. A shaky breath rattled through my lungs as I shuffled a tantalising foot forwards. Call me dumb, but crossing this bridge was my only way back, and this thing completely blocked the path.

It looked like a wall of some sort – transparent – as I could just make out the other side, but it swirled and morphed between white and grey, as if someone had taken the world’s biggest liquid veil and defied gravity by hanging it up in the middle of nowhere. Scanning it whilst moving my phone about, I theorised that this could most likely be behind Kay’s bizarre disappearance.

I slowly lowered myself to the ground, patting my hand about on the wooden floor for a stick I had spotted earlier whilst keeping a firm eye on the veil. I soon felt the knobbly bark and wrapped my hand around it before gradually straightening back up. I held it up in front of me, as both defence and a prodder and inched it forward with my shaking hand until it was no more than a half inch away.

Gently swaying the thin branch from side to side, I cautiously edged it closer each time, making the crazy decision to see if I could swirl what I guessed was liquid within this mysterious wall. That was, until the stick finally came in contact.

I let out a sharp cry of alarm as the stick was torn out of my hand and with a flash, it was gone. I let out a hiss, grimacing as I felt a harsh burning and opened my hand, only to see gashes where the branch had torn at my skin as the veil sucked it in at the speed of light. Clenching my jaw and taking deep breaths through my nose, I tried to put pressure on the wounds in an attempt to stop the blood that was now oozing out and running down my arm.

But what was most important, is that I now had a clear idea of what happened to Kay.

With newfound determination, I strode up to the veil, eager to find my friend. Coming face to face, it was only when I went to step forward, did I hesitate.

What if something bad happens as soon as I stepped through? I didn’t want both of us to go missing without a trace. What would become of our family, and other friends? I didn’t want to put that type of trauma on them! However, it would be worse if I returned alone, I don’t think Kay’s mum would ever forgive me for losing her daughter.

Coming to a final decision, I faced back towards the wall, trying my best to keep myself from faltering.

“I swear down if I don’t come back from this they better put me on Buzzfeed Unsolved.” I muttered to myself.

Reaching out again with my bleeding hand, I decided there was no turning back now, and with a deep breath, I touched the wall.

With a ferocious jolt, my feet were swept from underneath me, and before I could let out even a scream, I was thrusted forward into darkness.

I apologise in advance for spamming you with reblog notifications, but I was wondering if you happened to have any fav Astarion fics? I've poked at a few but most don't fit my desired 'aesthetic' and I think we have similar tastes. I am unashamedly over here scrounging for content until release so your blog is already a spring in a desert.

Oh don't apologize, I'm thriving off your tags, LOL And I totally get what you mean, I have really specific tastes and it's been hard finding fics or heck, even other people on the same wavelength. There are two I really like from very early on in EA. They're not exactly like the kind of thing I would personally write, I just think they're incredibly unique and well constructed: Pearl Necklace by apple_thief (Wyll x Astarion. His personality is different from what most people are used to. It's more frantic and feral, which I like) The Pale Elf by Ruler_of_Nope_Island (Solo fic that reads almost like a grim fairytale. Mind the tags, it does get graphic)

I'd also recommend these Astarion x OC fics that kept me warm and fed all these years: Sic Semper Tyrannis by fennorians Road to Nowhere by @rheilea

i totally get the stress of putting so much of your soul into a fic and being scared to let other people see it. it’s absolutely terrifying!!

that being said PLEASE post snippets if you feel comfortable. you’ve basically described my absolute dream eddie fic that i didn’t even know i dreamt of BUT I DID!!!

i can't put into words how overwhelmed i am for everyone who has reacted so kindly and has been so encouraging upon learning about this lil side endeavor of mine. genuinely. you guys are just the best.

a lot of the chapters written so far are focused on world-building (although they do feature el and max!!! and mention steve!!!), so i don't want to bore you all with snippets of that. HOWEVER, the snippet below is our introduction to eddie haha. (god, is it always this terrifying to share ideas with the class? lol)

the premise/background you need here is: sera/sarah is our main oc, who is a witch. her father has been trying to marry her off under the guise that she is a princess (it is truly a whole thing with so much lore haha). and finally, finally, a suitor has responded and agreed: prince steve harrington. to retrieve her from her home village, he's sent out his... knights :-)

“You directly disobeyed me, and there will be consequence-” 

Sera was unflinching at her father’s threat until the interruption. 

The seated knight, the boy whom she could only see the hair of, speaks up before her father finishes his promise of the violence to come in privacy.

“Now, now, Richard,” Sera chokes at the use of her father’s name, “That’s no way to speak to a future Queen.” 

All the air vacates the room. All that remains is the calm timber of the seated man, still ringing in Sera’s ears as she watches her father’s face grow red with embarrassment. 

She takes the final steps necessary to be even with the desk. To see the face of the perpetrator who had so casually chosen to speak to her father in such a way. 

He’s gorgeous. In a soft yet authoritative way. His cheeks are slimmer than the other boys, a face drained of youth and replaced with sharper edges that hold just barely more bite than his fellow knights in the room. The bite is given even more life by the painfully casual confidence he’s carrying. There lies a singular indent on his right cheek, a hollow crater from a crooked smirk that her eyes catch onto before his low voice sounds again, directed at her and not her father.

“You must be Sarah.”

He pronounces her name the same as everyone else, but she knows he’s unaware that it’s a nickname for a longer name. He’s saying it as it had read on that letter; a final transformation of Seraphina Alarie into Sarah Delvaux. An alias, for safety as her father had insisted. For the first time in her life, she’s not addressed by the name her mother gifted her with. A name she’d never been able to fill out properly, wearing it like a baggy hand-me-down rather than growing into the implied sophistication. 

She wears this new name no better. “I am. And you are?” 

“Edward,” he stands, wasting no time in extending a hand to her. She doesn’t take it, “Sir Edward, of Domitro. I serve Prince Harrington,” his hand doesn’t waver, only remains outstretched, not receiving the message, “Which means that I now serve you, his soon-to-be-wife, as well.”

My Introduction

Greetings, everyone. I am currently making this account after my underling, Ares, had given me the idea. He had told me it would be good publicity. You may call me Silas. I own a small temple on the outskirts of Sinnoh. Please visit us if you need a place to share concerns, get a hot meal, or rest your head for the night. Or, you can stop by to leave an offering to one of the shrines we host. We have shrines dedicated to important Pokemon from all regions. I'll be waiting. ... Apparently I need to add more than that to my introduction- more about myself, according to Ares. Well... I am a young adult, and I originally was from Johto. I moved here due to circumstances that aren't necessary to share. What I do like to share, though, is love and joy. I believe strongly in the power of Pokemon- there is so much that we can learn from them, and I earnestly believe they are much greater than us humans. I take care of Pokemon residing around the temple, some injured, some just wanting a friend. I do not consider myself a trainer, though I have a close bond with a certain Chingling. ... PRT DOC: TORONTO CAPES

hey so some of yall may have seen the post I made a little bit ago about a parahuman OC organization document that spiraled into something larger, and well, its not quite 100% ready to be posted in full yet, but I've got enough info that I feel like is worth sharing that I'm gonna share it, ill be putting all under a cut because even though this is all truncated from the actual doc, its still pretty damn long and I don't wanna annoy people LOL

So the general idea that I was following while making this was that Toronto is a city with a fairly large cape population, but doesn't have many "top tier" villains (I.E. Lung, Skitter, Kaiser etc etc,) which made it a breeding ground for corporate teams (ignore the fact that i only have one corpo team put together right now... haha...ha... anyway)

Protectorate/Guild Capes

TAKEAWAY, a Master who creates vaguely bipedal minions who transport any person they touch into an empty pocket dimension before vanishing. Her minions look like they're made of stained glass, and are often malformed in some way, like only having one arm, or non functioning wings instead of arms.

SLUICE, a Breaker who turns into a living waterspout, and can shoot crystals that explode into a thick layer of ice and frost from her hands. Power is altered in high heat or cold, heat reduces overall effectiveness of her ice crystals, but enhances her Breaker state's durability, while cold limits her mobility but powers up her crystals.

WINGMAN, a Tinker who specializes in rocket powered flight. Not great in a straight up fight, but even just flying can be enough to give an advantage. He cannot build explosives or payloads

WARDS

ASSEMBLY, another Tinker who builds small, single function drones that automatically sync up with each other. Absolute nervous wreck and definitely not ready to take up position of team leader when her colleague graduates

EXOMORPH, a Changer whose altered form receives a random suite of adaptations depending on the environment he's fighting in. Adaptions range from gills and scales, to a prehensile lounge, to numerous independently moveable eyes. Leader of the team and a bit of a hardass.

SERAPHIM, the youngest and newest member of the Wards, a multi-trigger who can nullify a set amount of incoming force, create fragile projection arms from her body, and heat metal to scalding temperature with a touch. A runaway from a rural cult, has trouble opening up to others.

SIDEWINDER, a Mover who gains superspeed coupled with intangibility, but only in 5-7 second bursts. Jokester of the group, harbors a very unsubtle yet somehow unnoticed crush on Assembly.

CORPORATE TEAM: COSMOS UNITED

One of the first teams to set up in Toronto, used to have a strict space/star related theme, but has generally lost that as founding members died and new members came in

STAR STUNNER, leader of the team and the last living founding member, her power lets her shoot thin lasers from her fingertips that bounce off of hard surfaces and numb/paralyze organic targets

GRAVITAS, newest member and second in command, though Star Stunner is the leader of the team, Gravitas is the face, she's charismatic, attractive, smart and courageous. A flying artillery who can charge her blasts to make them stronger. Was a Protectorate member but left after a disagreement about costume design.

APASTRON, a Tinker/Shaker who builds devices that "unfold" existing rooms into larger, labyrinthine forms or shrink multiple rooms into a singular hallway. (in layman's terms, its a portable Backrooms generator) used to be a small time criminal who created hideouts and drug dens, decided to switch sides after realizing he wasn't going to be able to keep track of all the devices he'd set up for people.

ORBITAL, a Shaker who redirects projectiles and drags loose items along with them. Technically semi-retired due to a leg injury but he insists on showing up for work anyway.

HELIOSPHERE, a Blaster who creates columns of light from the sky that gradually intensify in destructive power the longer they're active. As her power causes lots of collateral damage, she doesn't see much action anymore

INDEPENDANTS

FORGEHEART, Case 53, regurgitates molten metal, and can shape it at will. A non-combatant unless forced to, he prefers to make elaborate metal sculptures and donate them to public parks, hospitals, and the like. Proportioned like an exaggerated fantasy dwarf, stout arms and legs with broad shoulders and a large potbelly, with onyx black skin and glowing veins.

VILLIANS, THE OLD GUARD

A multi-provincial group that was formed by a crime lord who saw what the Elite were doing and thought "hey that sounds like a good idea!" got a Cauldron vial and became a Thinker who analyzes the structure of other powers. (sir not appearing in this post, because he does not operate out of Toronto, and this is already way too long)

IRON KRAKEN, the head of the Toronto branch, a Changer who becomes a massive morass of metal tentacles, his power functions almost like a reverse Lung, it starts off incredibly strong, then gradually shrinks and grows weaker, requiring at least a few days before it can be used at full strength. It essentially builds up strength while not in use, then burns through it's stockpile while active. The longer he goes without using it, the stronger and longer lasting it will be

VISCERAL, Brute/Striker who enhances and transforms bladed weapons by coating them in her own blood. Blades that are saturated in her blood become larger and sprout uneven blades from their sides. Her brute power gives her powerful regeneration, but numbs her sense of pain, as a result, she's somewhat a masochist. (I do have a trigger event for her written up, but its a tad... intense so I wont tell it unless someone specifically asks.)

RONIN X, A tinker with a powered weaponry specialization. can build a lot of different things, but with the caveat that anything he builds has to be connected to a battery or generator in order to function. Has support from other Tinkers in the Old Guard. Chose his name because he thought it sounded cool.

KILLSWITCH, time delayed Blaster. Creates spheres that hover in place, before shooting off in a set direction for a set distance. Spheres annihilate all physical matter they touch. Probably the most lethal parahuman in the city.

TURNCOAT, a Master who commands a single, invisible monster minion. The minion is non human in shape, very strong and durable, and can move faster than a car.

THE LOVEBOMBERS

Less of a gang and more of a disjointed group of junkies and hedonists. Led by a trio of Masters. Not considered a significant threat, they mostly just make a nuisance of themselves and disrupt the general public

HEART NUKE, the leader of the parahumans in the group, can induce and intensify a specific emotion in someone by touching them. repeated contact intensifies the emotion further. Unbeknownst to anyone other than him, his power has a secondary affect, anyone who's emotion is heightened to a certain point will literally explode, with anyone whose caught in the blast also having the same emotion heightened.

EUPHONIC, an always on power that causes anything she says to sound reasonable to the listener, can be resisted if the suggestion is too out of character or if the listener has strong willpower. Dresses in intentionally shocking and revealing clothing.

IDOLIZER, can force any and all individuals within 12 meters of himself to pay attention to him, to the exclusion of all other tasks. dresses in flamboyant and attention grabbing outfits.

Last Song: well I've been listening to a Playlist while I've been Working on this so I'll hand you Two: started writing to Sleep Walking Orchestra (Bump of Chicken) and ended on Nonsense Bungaku (Eve)! Both are solid imho hahaha. The first is the opening to the Dungeon Meshi anime (very solid and fun show. Oooo you want to watch it so bad) and the 2nd is the Result of me going on an Eve deep dive a couple months back lol

Favorite Color: I'm fond of actually. A Lot of shades of blue tbh! Aquamarine, Peacock Green/Teal, and Indigo are some particular shades that come to mind. I also love Raspberry/Wine red!

Last Book: hmmm let's see the last time I read A Book was Little Thieves by Margaret Owen! It's a retelling of the fairy tale The Goose Girl from the perspective of the maid who stole the princess's identity and its hella good if you like that good good folk fantasy magic!

Last Movie: uhhhHHHHH I Think??? It was Your Name? No wait it was Astro Boy (2009) with a friend of mine because we were reminiscing about nostalgia and realised we both remembered watching and enjoying it but not remembering Anything about the plot lmao. The pacing was like 500 mph but the animation aged pretty darn well! Storywise Defo had potential and I'm always a sucker for taking the sand a story was made of and seeing what kinds of castles could have been built

Last TV Show: Pluto on Netflix. Oh my god. Just watched Ep 6 last night and I'm ready to Not Be Normal (have not been normal since ep 1 but that's besides the point). Defo the kind of show that is to be Savored I Don't recommend binge watching it space out those 8 1 hr long eps so you can properly appreciate and process it. It's good I highly recommend it if you're into a good sci fi fantasy! How many sad dads can a singular mini series have. The answer is Yes

Sweet/Spicy/Savory: I tend to prefer Sweet>Savory>Spicy! I Do have A Spice Tolerance to some extent, but if given the choice I tend to prefer it light! (My Sweet tolerance is actually pretty pitiful but that doesn't stop me from eyeing all the pretty cakes and candies LMAO)

Relationship Status: I have Two Hands and I'm using them both for tax fraud >:'D

Last Thing I Googled: 'Shinji in Chair Meme' (searching for a reaction pic to send to a friend wrt ^Pluto)

Current Obsession: in case you haven't guessed already. Not being Normal about Pluto ncsvdjf. I'm also super into Kirby and the My OCs fandom (always rotating my and my buddies' OCs in the cranium condominium all the time all the time)

Looking Forward to: finally digging into and clearing out the sheer Mountain of WIPs I have accumulated :') holiday stressors are now over which means I can get working! (I am sincerely excited bc I've been looking forward to seeing some of them completed for a long long time hahaha) also got some future cosplans in the works! We'll see what comes out of it! 👀
