It’s spooky season so here are some webtoon recs

apologies in advance for the low quality images some of them are locked behind paywalls now (on the kr app the translated ones should be fine) and I was too lazy to go through all the chapters for the good panels

Ghost Teller- I’m so biased but this is one of my favorite webtoons. Summary in one line: ghosts go to therapy

Real summary: various ghosts (s1 is eastern ghosts, s2 is western ghosts) tell “human stories” (like how we talk abt ghost stories lol). the art is amazing, and all the episodes are all pretty solid. even if some stories are predictable you still feel for the characters (although personally I prefer s1 over s2)

Sweet Home- some of you might have seen it on Netflix but whether you watched it or not I highly recommend the webtoon (I have issues with the adaptation but that’s another story)

basically people suddenly start turning into monsters and the survivors of this apartment try to survive together. except the mc shows signs of becoming one of those monsters which creates unrest amongst the survivors. not going to get too into the monster part bc spoilers but the webtoon explores what people would do for survival so you get to see scummy ppl, kind ppl, all trapped together and try to survive 👍

the art style captures the story’s spooky/horror vibe so well. I didn’t include Bastard on the list (the previous webtoon the same author and artist worked on) bc it’s more of a psychological horror/thriller than creature? horror but if it sounds interesting or you liked sweet home I highly highly recommend Bastard as well.

+) There’s also a prequel called Shotgun Boy that’s more about the creatures’ origins

Surviving Romance- despite the title there’s little to no romance although it can probably be read as sapphic if you’d like. if you read makeup remover it’s by the same author. I’ve also seen some people compare this to orv but I can’t speak for that since I haven’t finished orv… haha

one line summary: mc gets isekai’d into a romance novel except it suddenly turns into a zombie apocalypse

long summary: mc is the mc of a romance novel but on the day she’s supposed to receive a confession from the male lead, there’s a zombie outbreak. she already read the novel so she knows the story and characters, but literally everybody that’s not the love interests don’t like her bc that’s how the mc of the novel was written. she finds out that the day resets when she dies but she doesn’t really care until someone she doesn’t know the face of saves her and she decides to find that person and make sure they make it out alive

even if you don’t like isekais (I personally don’t) it’s worth a try. it plays around the isekai premise well and the fourth wall moments were just *chef’s kiss* the impact of those moments especially when the webtoon was still ongoing was 🤌

the cast is primarily female characters, and despite the cast being on the slightly larger side, each of them are distinct from one another and the characters designs are very cute and colorful. overall it has an unique premise that it delivers pretty well on

Night of Shadows- kinda underrated tbh. mc has prophetic dreams, creatures from her dreams start appearing irl, and she’s the only one that knows how to deal with them.

mc is great. she’s strong, smart, and knows when not to give a fuck. the other three characters of the main cast are also pretty strongly established, and the plot and pacing are pretty good. this is the only one on the list that’s still ongoing (currently on hiatus after s1)

You twist the knobs on the microscope, and carefully notes are scattered around the walls of your lab. “Ah? The whole reason you and spidey became friends recently is that you were kidnapped by Doc Ock. Somehow he got hold of some old studies of yours and thought he could use “another brilliant mind” of course you said no you weren’t gonna help with his evil conquests and then, well he kidnapped you, forcing you to help him kill Spider-Man. Then Spider-Man saved you but pretty banged up in the process, you felt pretty guilty so you decided to help him with his gear and occasionally with taking down criminals- with science of course!

“Right right, sorry again..” you shrugged, still not facing him, pretending to be busy scribbling away so he won’t see your flushed face. A light thud hit the table, “I bought us tacos from your favorite place” you smile, you only told him about that place when you were trying to keep him from passing out from blood loss. You had read somewhere that you should keep talking to a patient to keep them from flatling, you were surprised he still remember considering he was fading in and out of consciousness.

You turn to face him, “You only buy those when I’m gonna have to do extra hard work” you bite your lip as you speak, if he didn’t have a mask on you’d swear Spider-Man was checking you out.

“I-uhm! Yeah haha, I do actually have work for you” he pulls out a vial from behind his back (where the fuck did he even hide-?) handing it to you, and you examine it holding it up to the light. “What is it?”

Spidey tsked, pulling himself up on your desk to sit while pulling his mask up to chomp on a taco. “Well, it’s a liquid version of a gas the green goblin used today on a crowd of people when we were fighting.” He stated, swallowing a bit of taco. “Once they were sprayed they became incredibly violent. It took me 2 hours just to web everyone down!!” Your eyes widen and you put down the vial cautiously in a container. “It wore off after a while but, I think we should try to reverse engineer it, perhaps even make a calming spray to combat it..!” He pulls down his mask and dusts off his fingers. “Ready to get to work?” His white lenses half-lidded in question, you nod. “But first lemme eat some tacos I’m starving!”

You stretch, looking at all the progress you and the spider made. He had stepped out to do patrol, but he helped you make a lot of progress with the serum. Who knew he was so smart? You kinda assumed he was a jock, not like dumb, but not genius smart. You chew on your pencil, enough about Spidey, focus on the task at hand, Y/N. You stare blankly into the microscope again, the red liquid turned into a delectable bubblegum pink now. You and Spider-Man figured out a way to make the serum “attack” Serotonin receptors, effectively making it, well, a stronger “happy gas” to combat Goblin's next attack.

You fall back into your chair sighing heavily, and you stare at the ceiling. You wish you could talk to him more, spidey only really came when he needed to pick your brain, “because two geniuses are better than one!”. You chuckle to yourself, It’s almost been a full year of knowing him now, your eyebrows knit in the thought of the times you had to patch him up at the lab and occasionally at your house. It took a while for you to open up to him, considering he’s a superhero they tend to attract trouble so you tried not to be TOO involved, strictly business on your side. Of course that didn’t last long, he was too sweet for you to keep playing coy. Yes, the time you spent with him was little and far in between but every laugh and stupid story he told in that short time made you fall more and more.

Fell on you! You get knocked out of your state of shock by Spider-Man’s groans again, gripping his side. You rush over to him, “I’m fin- healing already, it's just a flesh wound.” His hands whip towards you pressing his hands on your arms with a crushing force. “Weneedtoworryaboutyouthehappygasgotyouwhatare-” spider speaks faster than you can keep up. You try to calm him down by gripping his shoulder.

“Spidey, sh. I'm fine! See??” You stood up quickly dusting yourself off, you helped him back on his feet as well.

“God, this is all my fault. I should have been fast enough to catch you, I’m sorry” The masked hero ranted to the ground he was too ashamed to look in your eyes.

“It’s not your fault I’m clumsy, Webhead” you sighed, and looking back at your research, one test tube survived the fall. “Plus, I’m fine!” You gently grabbed his head lifting it to look into the white eyes (soulless) eyes.

“See?” You start doing the robot dance, it was something he did when you were sad and always made you laugh. You get a small chuckle from the sad man, You pause carefully before continuing.

“Spider, please be honest with me..That- catch me comment, that wasn’t really meant for me was it?” You're coaxing the answer out of him slowly, as he looks back at you and then back to the ground.

“I- yeah.” He sighs, you don’t remember grasping his hands but somehow he holds your hand in a vice grip. “My, uhm. First love.. she died- I wasn’t fast enough to catch her, she-“ he stops himself, you from breaking away from his bruising grip to hug him pulling him to your chest.

“It’s okay, we don’t need to talk about it anymore, okay?” He nods as steps away from you. “I’m sorry about- I shouldn’t tel- I don’t know why I-“ You put your hand up “Nope! We express our emotions here! You should never apologize for that. Especially considering all you do for this city.” You could tell he was smiling, even if you couldn’t see it.

You rush to get your feet to touch solid ground as Webhead gently sets you down on the fire escape, you’ll never get used to soaring through the sky. “T-thank you” you grip his chest, and his logo twists as you bunch it up, god you fucking hated heights. “I would open my window but I'm a little scared to move haha.” He exhaled through his nose, snickering. “Hey, hey I got you” he bends down as he pulls it open, you sit on the window seal and slide in, thankful to touch actual solid ground. Spiderman turns to leave but you grab his hand, “I-uhm.” Shit, you really didn’t have a plan to make him stay. “I- should check your wounds to make sure they’re okay.” He laughs.

“I assure you I’m fine, honey.” You felt a zing through your body straight to your clit, you have to stop yourself from moaning. God, keep it together!

“I-uhm still would feel better if I check” you fiddle with your clothes letting go of his hand.

“Mm, I think it’s something else.” He sits on your window seal, and you step back.

You bit your lip, why were you acting like this? This is definitely not normal.. that’s when it hit you. The liquid, you and spiderman thought you only neuralized the angry effect on the liquid which is why nothing happened to you after it fell on you. I guess you could check that theory off, clearly, something was happening.

“Spider-Man, the serum..I think it’s affecting me. When you touch me I get ..hot..” you could barely get words out.

“You- you should leave spidey, this could be dangerous, even contagious.” You hug yourself, the heat was getting unbearable but you couldn’t undress in front of him, that was a line you aren’t willing to cross, yet. You also needed to run a few tests on yourself to make sure this- sickness wasn’t permanent.

If anything I think you should speak more, because I love everything you write (and draw.) You've been one of my biggest inspirations to go back and give all of my ocs actual stories instead of just designs.

In fact, ever since you mentioned having non-fpk family ocs before, I have been incredibly curious.

Please feed me all of the information like a bird feeding its young, except its letters going into my eyes instead of food going into my mouth

you have no idea how much that warms my heart, i'm really flattered that you see me as an inspiration. it's all i could really ask for

i do have some ocs, yeah. though i will say, the fpk au characters are definitely outliers when it comes to the amount of personality and lore they have. most of my ocs have very basic backstories, and many of them only do because i used to roleplay as them with my friends. a lot of my original designs that i'm attached to don't even have names, let alone personalities

since i'll be posting a lot of pictures, i'll throw this under a read more so it's not too long

i guess i'll start with my oldest oc, a lion king character who used to be my "fursona" (well not exactly, since i've never considered myself a furry. but persona wouldn't fit here) years ago, back in 2012 i believe. she went through a lot of changes over the years, but i've settled on a design that i really like

her name is swahibu (used to be swahili, i wasn't particularly creative, and i changed it recently since it was a bit awkward for her to be named after the entire language hahaha), and she has a little brother named kobe. their lore isn't anything too elaborate, they're essentially scar's grandchildren who used to be outlanders, but after the events of the second movie joined the pridelands. swahibu is bitter and a bit mean, but cares very much about her little brother. she got her scars in a fight with rogue lions which unfortunately ended with their mother's death, so they're now on their own. kobe is a smart cub, and brings a bit of joy and innocence to his big sister's life. as they both resemble their grandfather more than they'd like, they're often the object of nasty comments from those who lived under his tyrannical rule, though they do eventually earn the pridelanders' respect. not much else to say about them, except that i like to hc swahibu as gay. also, they have a very simple family tree that i made to show what their parents looked like, here (might not work if you don't have a deviantart account, but i'm not sure)

next up, there's a character i've considered my persona for quite some time, and one i used to put in many funny scenarios with my friends' ocs. he also changed the most out of all of them throughout the years, and recently i gave him a more furry like design as i hate drawing human faces haha

his name is rick, and he's a hybrid of all kinds of different animals. he's very laid back and lazy, though the fact that he's a hybrid gives him some animal-like traits and behaviors. he used to have a backstory but it's kind of stupid so i'm considering changing it, but he was basically created in a lab and then released after it was shut down. now he lives on his own with his cat, jon. he's one of those characters who are very flexible, so if i wanted to, i could modify him to fit into any scenario (for example, he used to have an assassins creed universe version which i used for roleplay years ago hahaha). not much else to say since i'm still in the (slow) process of changing him

i also have a lot of dragon characters, most of them were made for the purpose of a larger roleplay story with my friends. in general i take 'dragon' as a very vague term, since to me a dragon can look however you want and all those classification rules are kinda stupid. but you'll still a bit of, idk, i guess a paleoart like direction for their designs, since i like speculative biology and such. also, some of these originated as heavily based on some of my favorite characters at the time, you'll see that with the first one especially

his name is stark and he's probably the dragon that has the most lore behind him. i won't go into too many details regarding the backstory since it's long and very connected to the roleplay (you know, bit of a "you just had to be there" moment haha). but tl;dr he was taken in by a village and raised from hatchling, so he's very docile and a little bit confused. the village was attacked and he was able to survive, but one of his legs was scarred pretty badly, so he noticeably limps while walking. he's a semi-aquatic dragon, so he's an excellent swimmer. funnily enough, he went through a complete "reboot" a few years ago. in the original rp, he was a massive asshole, he'd hurt others for his own amusement and was generally very aggressive and not pleasant to be around. also, he had a prosthetic leg, though i scrapped that as it was far too advanced for the setting i envisioned him in. i much prefer this direction, i love my giant himbo gator-dragon. and i wonder how many of you can guess what character was the inspiration for his appearance (it used to be a lot more obvious in his first design iterations)

(and no, his wing isn't missing. this is just to show his back haha)

these next three don't really have too much backstory to them. well, except for the first one, his name is ithaar, and he was one of my first ocs ever. he went through a massive redesign quite recently, so he has close to nothing in common with his first iterations. the other two characters, eurus and ash, were made for rp purposes quite recently, and so don't have too much lore behind them

ith is a bit of a coward, he struggles with his self-confidence and believes everyone sees him as insignificant due to his small size and inability to fly. he can camouflage, though, so he's a lot cooler than he thinks. also, he moves by hopping around like a little kangaroo. his design is very dromaeosaur-like, with short stubby arms and yi-qi inspired wings

eurus is very pterosaur-like, though much larger than even the largest azhdarchids. he doesn't like the company of others, he's a bit of a loner (with trauma!). he may seem mean on the surface, but his past experiences make him unable to walk past someone who's in need. not quite a gentle giant, though. i think it's easy to see which pterosaurs in particular were the inspiration for his design, though his crests are very dilophosaurus-like

the last one is ash, and she's the newest addition to the roster. her rp session was very short and didn't really add much to her lore, but she's generally a huge jerk who likes annoying others and stealing from them. but of course, it wouldn't be an oc of mine if there wasn't some trauma involved, and she's no exception. she believes she doesn't fit anywhere, she felt rejected by her own kind for her unnatural abilities (she can move things with her mind), and so she copes with it by being a prick. her design was inspired by junker queen from overwatch haha

i also have four night fury characters i made during my httyd phase, and i redesigned them about a year ago to be a lot more "natural" in their appearance. they used to be quite a bit more colorful back in the day, and not in the good way haha

their names are vel'ri, sherok, atis and marivo. no real backstory, just vibes. the first one used to be my "main" character during the httyd phase. vel'ri and atis are female, sherok and marivo are male

and lastly, some non-dragon characters. these don't really have any backstory that i think is worth sharing, but i still love them very much

this one is named rugat and they're a genderless, shapeshifting magma alien thing. i don't know what they are. i just really like their design. they're aggressive, but they have a soft spot for small, weak creatures. god knows what their reasoning is, but i thought it was a cute personality trait

and these two are named lox and bagel. they're a ragarox, an original species i made years ago when it was cool and hip to have a closed species. they're eyeless cave dwelling lizard things. very chubby. these two guys are not related but they hang out all the time. 🏳️‍🌈 perhaps?

lox, on the left, is the more active and territorial of the two. but he's also super affectionate towards bagel

bagel, on the other hand, is the couch potato. very round and chubby, 10/10

as a fun fact i like to think their long tongues have very distinct smells. lox's smells like lime, while bagel's smells a bit like blueberry

and lastly, here are two unnamed characters. i like their designs but i haven't had the chance or inspiration to think of any details about them

the first one is an okapi-like thing. with a kitty face. the second is like a weird mix between a ceratopsid and some kind of mammal

oh and, here's some redesigns of old dragon characters that i forgot to mention earlier. they used to be very different (all but one were inspired by other characters, but you can't see it on their current designs), and i don't have any backstories for them yet. their names are also going to be changed, so consider them nameless for now

(fun fact: the top left one was one of the first iterations of eurus' design, but i decided to turn it into a different character cause i still like it)

What are the origins of Augustus and the Chosen respectively, when did they first meet each other and what is their dynamic?

Ok so

The Chosen:

His first appearance was in a smosh Vegas episode. 'Playing Blackjack in Viva Smosh Vegas' (Sept. 2020)

How Shayne came up with the character is kinda interesting. Because he was supposed to play Aunt carolyn in that episode, but they didn't have her wig on hand. So he had to come up with something on the fly. He had a vague idea that he wanted to play a character like this already tho. He didn't have a name however, and like he came up with the name "Spencer Agnew" on the fly while being asked the question in the video. That's why a bunch of people think he was supposed to he a parody of Spencer when that was actually never the case. I think that is also the reason they don't bring up that name a lot anymore and just use "The Chosen".

Augustus:

Augustus is a actually a lot older as a character than The Chosen. But he is in a lot less videos.

His first video was 'DAMIEN KNOWS DA WAE' (Jan. 2018). A vr chat video.

After that he appeared in a bunch of maricraft videos. A minecraft let's play series on smosh games back in the day. There bunch of stuff got established about the Character and a bunch people think he got created there because they don't know about the vr chat video . He didn't get a look till 2020 though. Until then he was just a voice and name.

Augustus full name is Augustus St. Cloud and he definitely got heavily inspired by the Venture Bros Character with the exact same name. Damien never talked about it but it is a very strong educated "guess". They got the same first and last same, as well as the same voice and a couple of character traits.

Nintendogs:

They got posted only one day apart as well. In Nov. 2021. The ship name nintendogs came to be because in the Gamestop Video they play nintendogs together

I love their dynamic so much because they are both insufferable nerds. Also the competitive nature of their relationship. My favorite awful guys.

My hopes to ever get then in a video together again are not that high. Honestly I thought Augustus wasn't even going to show up again till the TNTL appearance a couple of days ago.

But a boy can dream.

hiya tobias, ive been following you on tumblr for a bit now and just wanted to hop on by real quick to say that i had bought a character design from you on twitter almost 5 years ago now (a purple and pink dragon/wyrm/creature) that has since become one of my favorite characters and is very important to me. i had moved away from twitter pretty soon after buying them from you, so when i realized recently you were on tumblr i was ECSTATIC. its been SUPER cool seeing your recent works because you were a huge reason why i decided to get serious about my art in the first place! you were both directly and indirectly a huge influence on my development as an artist, both because ive always loved your work and ALSO getting that dragon design i bought from you was sort of a catalyst that made me want to improve my art, just so i could draw that guy better!! ive had more than one "breakthrough" while drawing that design specifically haha ANYWAYS, you dont have to answer this at all if you don't want to, i just wanted to let you know that you're super cool and so is your art and designs! also sometimes personally i like to see designs ive made that belong to others are still out in the wild, so i thought id let you know that this one's been very well loved and appreciated!! i even painted him recently when i was testing out a new set of oil paints c:

Has anyone done this for ikepri? — Artbreeder series — (Pt. 1)

Okay, so I was bored and instead of finishing the new chapter, I decided to go to artbreeder and expirement... All day. So after some struggles, I made all 8 princes + Sariel and Rio.

In the future should I make Silvio, Keith and Gilbert too? And Emma? I had fun and I'd do it again. Maybe even for other Ikemen games lol.

But nvm, now I present you 10 ikepri characters by artbreeder + my after touch in Autodesk. (I had to do it, usually for their eye colors.)

(His hair is kinda weird, I had to touch that up, since it didn't quite reach his neck. Also, in general I struggled to make his features look right, I'm still not 100% into it, but I had to stop somewhere eventually haha.)

• Chevalier Michel

(Again, the hair. I swear I had to mix almost all of them with females to achieve some longer locks, since a lot of them have that going on. Also, his hair doesn't really reach his eye, and it's curly, but it is what it is...)

• Yves Kloss

(Okay, he was the first that I did, and I still love it! He's one of my favorites, I love how he turned out. Btw, I had to draw his earring, because it was impossible to edit that. So that's why it looks out of place. He looks so sassy tho.)

• Nokto Klein

(He kinda looks like a woman, to me? I had to mix him with multiple females to make his longer hair possible. But I don't hate it. And again; I edited his eyes myself. He kinda has that resting bitch face here, and I'm living for it lol.)

• Licht Klein

(I struggled with him too, to make his features look right and somewhat similar? I had like 3 tries, where I mixed everything into it, but I actually created this on accident, kind of half-hearted. But in the end I liked this the best because he resembles Nokto and they actually look like twins. Plus I had to edit his eyes, beauty marks and hair a bit. He looks soft uwu.)

• Jin Grandet

(Would it be a surprise if I'd say that I struggled with him too? I had to search for really manly prototypes and match them together, but in the end I don't hate how he turned out either. His hair is more brown than it should be, his eyes too, but I don't think it's that bothersome. Ultimate manly dude. Kinda looks like a Daddy material xd.)

• Luke Randolph

(Okay, OKAY. I'm in LOVE! He's my favorite, hands down! I actually made two versions for him; one with a smile and the other as a neutral expression but his smile is everything! I love it, he looks so precious! I might change to his route after this oof.)

• Clavis Lelouch

(I couldn't quite catch his features, his aura/vibe - if you will - well at first, but after some tries it came out good. I think. I also had to mix him with women, mainly because of his purple hair. I edited his eyes and beauty mark, but I was lazy to do his hair properly. He also has two expressions; Neutral and a mischievous one. ;))

since you've been playing elden ring, do you have a favorite npc so far?

Haha, my pace at discovering more of Elden Ring is SNAIL slow. And I don't mean moderately fast snail-like mobs in ER, I mean real life snails. xD So, my knowledge is still lacking. But with what I DO know, I think I can pick a favourite already!

This might come off as a surprise, but this...

...SELLEN!

Honestly, so far I liked her the most! She gives me very strong Imposter Iosefka vibe (in the scenario if after having made enough Emissaries, the Imposter also joined with them to be several small ascended people hiding in a trench coat pretending to be one BIG ascended person…). Whereas she is still, of course, a unique and interesting character on her own! It is just this kind of a female character after knowledge beyond human plane that reminds me.

I am particularly fond of the madman/woman/person characters who want to know the eldrich truths of the universe, no matter how horrifying they are and no matter what taboos they have to break, and what they have to give in exchange. I also can respect the type of 'scientist that is not above trying their own medicine' because, again, she becomes The Orb herself xd Her sassy and blunt attitude is also very appealing for me, she is a confident character with a very certain motivation! I do also enjoy how no matter what scroll she is given, her reaction is that she is familiar with this sorcery, so she is already very educated!

I've posted my analysis how in Bloodborne, Willem and 'original' Choir (from which only Yurie remains) prioritise ascending humanity and leveling with the gods as people, whereas the Choir as it is later tries to TRANSCEND humanity, and will break any taboos, just like Mensis too. In there, I actually sympathise with Willem's side and see Choir as reckless and desperate fools. But in Elden Ring, for some reason, I actually sympathise with the ideas of Sellen (and her teachers, Azur and Lusat) more instead, whereas seeing how Caria family goes about the glintstone teachings as kinda weak. Not REAL researchers. It is very funny and I can't even explain why I am so inconsistent all of a sudden; doesn't help that Rennala herself gives strong Willem and Yurie vibe! Truly, the magic of narration can make EITHER side feel more sympathetic than the other o_o"

Also, I've learned that initially her Witch's Glintsone Crown was named Grana Glintstone Crown, but it was patched out!

I feel like developers initially did want to make Sellen as important as someone who had her own school and the crown made in her likeness was a common wear too, but it never picked up because… well, her line of studies contradicted with Caria's family agenda and restrictions too much? It is one thing to just explore rocks from space, but completely different one to try and BECOME one! But I decided to go with 'they retconned the idea' rather than with 'they obscured the idea'. I mean, how exactly people would follow this "school"? They'd just become rocks lol. It is not really studying the object when you become the object.

I also honest to god cannot recall this particular shade of green glintstone anywhere else - not in an environment, nowhere on Graven Scholars, and there are no spells or staff associated with this color. So I feel like it is artificial and created BY her; would go with theme of her experimenting with turning people into seeds of a star. Heck, maybe this glintstone also had an… organic origin, too. So it cannot be turned into a weapon (unlike staffs of Azur and Lusat that ARE made from existing cosmic material), but only serve as cathalyst for intellect and sorcery of THE caster.

Also I just gotta say, I really appreciate how in these spheres everyone is always having the both horrified and awe-full expression, but she looks really blissful and calm x) She actually gave a realistic, adequate estimate towards how much she wanted to become one with the cosmos xD Lore says that even Azur and Lusat were devastated when they witnessed it, so she is arguably MORE of a madwoman than those two. Love this about her so much.

Honorable mention: so far, Nepheli is my second favorite. Her design definitely beats everyone else's amongst NPCs yet, but also she is just really appealing character. Badass warrior with two axes with great honor and will to go on no matter what, who is also very sensitive and compassionate at heart, is in touch with her vulnerable side, grieving the fallen, strong but not invincible… It is a very good example of how TO write a strong and badass female character; the power is not to be a solid brick that never cries but to be able to connect with one's insecurities and still get back up. Her being heartbroken when her father figure turned on her was very moving, for some reason this way she feels stronger than if she just got up and kicked Gideon's ass and hated him forevermore after that. I just live for this balance of both big muscles but ALSO a big heart.

Dorothea MoonWater/Moonseeker Mugle AU:

“Hey, Dorothea, do you ever stop and think about me?

Honey, making a lark of the misery”

I was listening to Dorothea by Mrs. Swift the other day and suddenly this AU idea was born:

Walburga was once a famous actress that had fallen under obscurity and wanted her children to pursue a career in the model/movie industry. So, she decided to raise them in a restrictive way since birth. Sirius obviously couldn’t handle that treatment so he left after sometime but Regulus stayed with their mother (kinda similar to canon).

Our lover boys had their first real interaction under the bleachers, Regulus was thinking about showing support to his brother during a game but decided to back off in the last second and Remus was never the biggest fan of crowds so he decided to follow his brother’s friend to see what was going on. Two introverts sharing an awkward moment but that doesn’t necessarily felt bad in their personal opinion, something has changed that day.

Those two become friends and closer after some other experiences and meetings, bonding over academic stuff, books, weird tv shows, love for cats. Their relationship grows in a good slow-paced way until both of them were aware of their own love feelings. Remus decided to confess first expecting the worst (he’s so oblivious sometimes) but it was Regulus who had initiative for their first kiss. Due living in quite a small town they had to be really careful, specially about Black’s mom, her sons not being straight would never be something okay for Walburga considering she believed and planned for the future, Regulus sadly never had the courage to talk about that to anyone besides his closest friends and Remus.

Their love create a cute love bubble but soon Remus slowly start to notice how much pressure is put over his boyfriend shoulders, everything revolving around him being the perfect boy to please his mother wishes. One day, after Regulus prom has passed, they were discussing about the future, their relationship and career plans. It doesn’t ends well, they get into a big fight and after that happened they stop talking to each other with Walburga deciding to move to a big city to focus on her son’s career as a future celebrity.

“I love performing, i love acting, the atmosphere, all the praise and applauses. It’s been like that for such a long time, just because I talked to you about some minor insecurities it doesn’t mean that wouldn’t be a good future for me.”

“Of course not, I know you had a lot of good moments and how much talented you’re, I was sitting in the front row of that play last month remember Love? You know I’ll always support your decisions, don’t you Reggie? I just want you to think if they’re truly yours! I want you to be the happiest and content possible, that you’re doing it for you, not for her but for you own good…”

Some time is passed, Regulus really become famous showing up on tv and commercials, his face is all over magazines and outdoors, now living in a big city and never coming back his hometown. However, miles away from there, in a old small town, everything they did, the time spend together, all the love and memories their shared still is so vivid in Remus mind. Even after all the years passed without communication, Lupin still remembers how they would be going for hours just talking about their favorite books, favorite nerdy tv shows, their kisses and secret dates…

As for Regulus? He tells himself how much lucky he’s, how he’s living ✨the dream✨daily. But sometimes, when his deep thoughts starts bubbling into his mind, Black thinks about missing every day that one person who truly got him, the one who saw behind his facades and fake smiles (but that’s talk for some other time)

(Was it at least decent? That’s my first AU idea so sorry if it sucks haha)

1. What’s your favourite sims death?

Probably fright, cause the animation is so funny like they have time to pause and check their pulse before dropping dead

2. Alpha CC or Maxis Match?

I can tell this is aimed at TS4 haha I had to google Alpha CC to check I knew what it meant - So semi-realistic? I mean obviously I lean towards Maxis Match, but if I like how something looks I’ll use it even if it’s not from the same style.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

No, that actually happened to Klothilde because she kept eating fish and it takes so long for them to eat fish that she got fat after eating it once lol - But TS2 fat meshes aren’t even really fat, so it doesn’t make much difference to me heh

4. Do you use move objects?

Only for placing deco things, cause I don’t want to end up placing a chair or something that’s actually inaccessible and not find out until after I’ve built everything else around where I placed it

5. Favorite mod?

No Red Pause Lines, cause it’s 500x more annoying if I have to crop that out every time I take a screenshot

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

University, I pretty much got all the TS2 stuff as it came out heh

7. Do you pronounce “live mode” like aLIVE or LIVing?

aLIVE, but I think about it more like how a TV show says “We’re live” or something since that’s where the game actually progresses in time

Cirrus! There’s some close seconds, but Cirrus actually has history in my game versus just being a face I liked, and the way her parents’ genetics created the little side smirk she has that I don’t think I could recreate in CAS

I did when I was 13 - I was exactly at that age where child sims felt too young to represent myself, but teen sims felt too old. I went with a child sim just for the proportions lol but yeah that was the last time I was interested in making a simself.

Um black? That’s always the default color I pick when doing any sort of dress up game

Both, I like building but I like to play the lots I build. And when I’m playing, I think of what kind of builds would be fun to play, and so the gameplay also inspires my building.

Kind of? I’ve made clothing recolors, makeup, hair recolors, etc. but I haven’t done anything besides sharing lots/sims in a while.

16. Do you have any simblr friends/a sim squad?

Not particularly, I have mutuals that I always like seeing on my dash/activity but I’m not the most talkative person on tumblr lol

Technically yeah, it’s my “personal” YT account but 90% of my videos are of The Sims.

I used to do more semi-realistic CC, just based on what I’d accumulated and liked the look of at the time. I still have a lot of that CC in my Downloads, I just don’t use it as often anymore as more recently downloaded Maxis match stuff.

idk, I think I have one but I’ve never shared anything for TS4 so it’s kinda useless lol

22. Who’s your favorite CC creator?

Ooh that’s a tough one, @platinumaspiration comes to mind cause I really love how bright/colorful a lot of their CC is and I like a lot of the clothing/hair styles :)

I explained it here sort of a few years ago, but I have a newer version of Photoscape and I don’t have access to Photoshop anymore. I still do the highlight/shadow tweaking stuff, but I use Photoscape to do that now.

25. What expansion/game/stuff pack do you want next?

Well obviously that’s not a question for TS2 lol but something that both TS3 and TS4 have that would’ve been cool in TS2 is careers that you can actually play/interact with instead of the sim disappearing for 8 hours.

26. What expansion/game/stuff pack is your favorite so far?

Nightlife, I love everything about the themes/aesthetic/gameplay, it has objects/features I use more than any other EP to this day, it’s just exactly my style.

I figured now would be as good a time as any to feature some of my writings, both old and kinda/sorta recent. We’re seeing a new influx of people coming to Tumblr (as well as some old folks returning, welcome back!) so...hey! I write stuff sometimes! Or I used to anyway, haha. Being creative is hard.

Ahem! So, without further ado, here are the links to the various XIV-centric fics, bits and bobs I’ve done over the years. Most are here on my tumblr, but AO3 links will also be provided too, especially for most of the FFXIVWrite entries and for stories I kept strictly over there. These will also be listed in order of when I wrote them...if I can remember right anyway, lol.

Long May She Endure - written after my first long(ish) fic, Rumors, this is a prequel to that story. Takes place in the aftermath of Ala Mhigo’s liberation, Ahlis and Aymeric spend some time together to eat, drink, and reflect. (AO3 link)

Rumors - The first day of liberation for the city of Ala Mhigo and her people and the Warrior of Light finds herself in the middle of a contentious rumor. Drama, gossip, a spar and someone gets punched (almost). First long fic I’ve written for Ahlis so I am a bit partial to it, haha! (AO3 only)

Proficiency - An experiment with imagery and insinuation. Ahlis and Aymeric practice archery in the Shroud...honest ;) (AO3 only)

Song of Eld - This had plans to become a longer story but I never got to finishing it. Meant to be a fluffy Starlight fic for Ahlis and how she was given a very pretty harp as a gift from House Fortemps (with a little help from a certain lord commander as well). (AO3 only)

This Cannot End in Happiness - Another standalone and experimental drabble I did early on about uncertainty within a relationship. I don’t consider it “canon” but an idea/theme I was playing with. Adult themes, but nothing explicit, and short. (AO3 only)

FFXIVWrite 2017 - My first FFXIVWrite and one of my favorites. All of these entries are on my tumblr, where they were written originally, but it’s easier to read them in one place like AO3. My FFXIVWrite entries are called ‘Exploration of Character’ on AO3 because that’s normally what my focus is for my FFXIVWrite entries.

Mandragora - Aymeric returns to Borel Manor to find an unexpected visitor waiting for him. Years ago there was a pretty well-known Aymeric blog/role player here on tumblr that had the personal headcanon of Aymeric’s “cantankerous cat” having the name Mandragora. Loving this idea, I asked for permission to use it for this story. (AO3 only)

Beyond The Closed Door - Originally an except from a much longer story I had in the works that forever remained in the outline stage. It was to be a fic where Ahlis and Aymeric take a jaunt around various locals (their “wild Eorzean adventure,” as it were) while exploring character growth as well as their growing (and unspoken) feelings for one another. It was an ambitious idea at the time, but it never got off the ground and this is all there is, alas! (Tumblr only)

FFXIVWrite2018 - My entries for FFXIVWrite 2018, all on AO3. Since the first FFXIVWrite was so fun I decided to try it again!

Of Moogles and Mail (Part 1 & Part 2) - Embroiled in the conflict to liberate two nations under Garlean rule, the Warrior of Light has had little time for personal mail or correspondence. Upon returning to the Rising Stones it would seem the post moogles, entrusted to ensuring the mail of Eorzeans everywhere, created a bit of a snafu for the hero. I have a (personally) amusing headcanon that Ahlis, while she enjoys receiving letters she is terrible at writing them herself. This is a two-part story which is technically a continuation of both ‘Long May She Endure’ & ‘Rumors’ that begins when conflict with the Garlean Empire is coming to a head. Meant to be a comedic piece, I had a lot of fun writing it. (AO3 link)

The One Who Stood Alone - After the initial push against Garlean forces within the Ghimlyt Dark, the Warrior of Light feels the impact of finally--truly--being the last one standing. Or is she...? This was a very cathartic piece to write that corresponded to a very emotionally charge moment in XIV’s main story (patch 4.5 man, hooo...). It felt good writing this one, and I used this momentum to continue with my next story to a personally satisfying climax. (AO3 link)

Gods Help Me - The Warrior of Light prevents Ser Aymeric from leaving the infirmary, not until she wants him to. I think that’s pretty self-explanatory, huehuehue. (AO3 link)

FFXIVWrite 2019 - My entries for FFXIVWrite 2019. Also on tumblr, but for the sake of ease I placed them on AO3 as well.

The 30 Day WoL Challenge - A tumblr based writing exercise I decided to attempt randomly. Still happy (and a little unsure of where to go next) with where my last long fic left off I went the fluffy route and wrote many Ahlis & Aymeric-centric bits, despite the theme being WoL-centric (it still counts!).

FFXIVWrite 2020 - This was the FFXIVWrite that I did not put on AO3, oops! I managed to do all entries this year as well, but they’re all only on my tumblr.

FFXIVWrite 2021 - I only ended up doing a few entries for FFXIVWrite for 2021; my motivation and writer’s block was rough.

FFXIVWrite 2022 - This year’s FFXIVWrite was another I did not finish entirely, but I did about half of the entries. I had ambitious goals for this one, which ultimately didn’t pan out, but that’s ok! This was my first attempt at doing all first person style entries, which was fun to do for a little while. The Journals - I started this series during Stormblood and the 3.x patch series. These journals cover the span of story from 4.0 to 6.0, numbered based on the patch number. I don’t know if I will add more of these in the future for Endwalker, but you never know! All of these are on tumblr, not on AO3.

bready steady go, world's end valentine, underwater prom queens but specifically the symphonic metal cover, honestly the metal covers for all of these r so good, i have like 10 it means everything covers but i dont remember being the hugest fan of the original at least when i first heard it? it's kinda tame, by your side.... but one of the covers, oh the deeper well osts like numbers and sinking, final duet is pretty, you were wrong go back, i remember really liking wandering rose when i was first playing the game, i think tee hee time is pretty good i haven't really listented to it though i was too busy fighting for my fucking life, good morning i guess, and also my time ofc but i don't really consider it an omori song i consider it a bo en song

a lot of my hcs have spoilers/heavy topics in them & i have a lot mainly focused on post true ending, so if anyone's interested hmu haha (i am normal)

but for some small ones i have. aubrey and kel are gym bros but instead of motivating each other by being supportive they set incredibly unrealistic goals and make it a medium-stakes competition to get them the fastest. mari gave a lot of her old clothes that didn't fit her anymore to aubrey: after she died her clothes were either given to aubrey or donated to a goodwill or something & aubrey bought a bunch back with her own shitty customer service job money. speaking of mari and aubrey, wouldn't it be fun if they used to paint their nails together at sleepovers and as a child aubrey painted her nails a lot bc it reminded her of the fun sleepovers with mari but after mari died she stopped because it reminded her that everyone who loved her was essentially dead, even if they didn't really die

30 why is omori special to you?

honestly im not even sure. maybe because of the guilt and the grief. there's just something i really really love about media with a 'i loved you more than myself and i hold myself responsible for your death regardless of whether or not it was my fault, so i've sealed away all of my trauma and created a happy world where you and i and everyone we love can live together forever'.... in fact before i even knew about omori i created a story that follows more or less that exact premise, and im still working on it today (not that im ever going to finish it).

maybe it's also bc the friend group & the situation reminds me a lot of a certain friend group that i had that i was still processing the fallout from when i first played the game? or maybe i just like angst lol

quick doodle separation featuring post bis fawful design concepts

design notes before headcannon infodump the left fullbody is reminiscent of his dark appearance but none sleeve and is kinda like his "i'm feeling especially confident today" fit and the right fullbody is self explanatory

additionally his glasses are now a lavender tint bc of residual dark star corruption adding a bit of red into his normal blue color

✶ After the events of BiS, Fawful did die. However, I really like the idea Super Paper Mario implemented, where characters who died, or "game overed," are sent to the Underwhere, and villains whose games end are basically trapped by Jaydes for eternity. Unless they escape of course. If a prisoner does manage to outsmart her and escape, Jaydes will respectfully let them live another life, knowing full well they'll be back eventually for her to punish ;)

✶ Fawful escaped the Underwhere and wound up getting ejected in the Mushroom Kingdom. He couldn't go back to the Beanbean Kingdom since he was a wanted criminal, and he couldn't stay in the Mushroom Kingdom for the same reasons. Therefore, he hopped a Bonneton airship and completely vanished off of the radar before his old enemies could find him again.

✶ He met up with Midbus again in the Sand Kingdom, surprisingly on a Bonneton delivery ship he snuck onto where he worked as a heavy lifter. Midbus left his job to stay with him, still extremely loyal even after he thought he was dead for years.

✶ Fawful ended up opening a repair shop in New Donk City after attempting to work under an engineering corporation, but quickly grew frustrated at how they "restricted his creativity." He still makes the occasional weapon to sell on the black market for emergency cash (and for himself).

✶ Leftover remnants of the Dark Star still live inside of him. It grants him a VERY weakened version of its abilities, but he can still kick ass in a fight with them. His main ability is creating dark lightning, but he can also summon the portals he used in his boss fight in-game. The portals have to be within his eyesight, however (if you've watched Wakfu, it's kinda like how Yugo's portals work). He’s very bad at controlling both powers, though, with the lightning either being only a singular spark or a sudden explosion of electricity, and the portals rarely teleporting him where he wants to go (has almost died multiple times from teleporting off of cliffs accidentally).

✶ Absolutely adores capes. It makes him feel powerful.

✶ Nearsighted as hell. Cannot see anything without his glasses unless it is inches away from his face.

✶ Has a bad overbite. If he closes his mouth fully, his upper row of teeth will stick out. (ik in-game art lines up his teeth n stuff but SHUTUP fawful with overbite is hella cute)

✶ Loud. Shouts constantly. Doesn't give two shits about what people think of him. Very quick temper. Literally vibrates like a chihuahua if he's not doing something. Absolutely feral.

✶ short king ✨✨ (i have no idea what the average size/mario’s in-game height is i’m not making an estimate but he’s definitely shorter than mario)

✶ I am hitting him with the aroace beam actually, as I do with all my favorites.

✶ Appreciates Midbus's company a lot. Sure it was only strictly professional (as professional as an evil villain with a lackey can get) at first, but he's glad that he has at least one friend. (i cannot see this as a potential ship at all like no way in hell). Midbus helps with his anger issues by listening to him scream-vent and acting as a punching bag since Fawful has no physical strength whatsoever.

✶ Toadsworth occasionally visits him once he discovers he's alive again. This is another whole big headcannon that I never shared with anyone where Toadsworth started this whole villain monitoring thing where he documents and keeps a watch over all of the villains the Bros/Peach/Bowser have faced over the years. They're tea besties.

✶ Those are slippers he's wearing. Not even actual shoes, just straight up slippers that you'd wear around the house while you get ready for bed. He is a fashion disaster and shouldn't be allowed to dress himself. He doesn't go outside of his house/shop often anyway.

✶ If he and Dimentio met, Dimentio would probably try to kill him on the spot, especially with the headcannon I have where Dimentio's death made him "lose" all of his magic while Fawful's death granted him magic. (lose is in quotations because it's more like he subconsciously forgot how to use it again, kind of like how Zuko "forgot" to firebend in ATLA season 3)
