ego = thoughts, beliefs, the mind

whats your name? how old are you? those answers "you" gave where the ego's answers. ego is the false identity. consciousness is all you are. the answers that ego gave are not real. the ego itself isnt even real.

after learning about non dualism and consciousness, "you" might think its hard to understand but guess what... thats the ego talking. theres nothing difficult about understanding non duality but the ego and mind makes it seem harder bc it over complicates everything (aka makes "you" overthink things and ask unnecessary questions).

even if you dont understand non duality, you are still always consciousness. you are still always aware. everything is still not real. its the ego that "doesnt understand" this yet for your true being, consciousness, thats all you know, thats all you are.

the ego is what makes "you" ask questions like "how do you manifest using non dualism?" "how do i get what i want?" "how this, how that" even when i write the answer in front of you...

once you imagine a desire, it exists instantly but the ego tells you that there is a separate reality (example: the "3d") where you "really" get your desire. the ego tells you that your desire needs to be reflected to this "reality" for "you" to really have it. the ego sees imagination as a fake reality and this "3d" as the "real physical reality" even though its all consciousness, its all imagination and its all reality with no separation.

if the ego doesnt understand consciousness, theres no need to sweat, but it is interesting once ego understands. just remember that everything is imagination -> imagining a dog is the same as having a dog in the "physical reality" ... ego makes that hard to grasp but either way its true. dont stress about not understanding non dualism. little by little it will start to click believe me... the ego is not the real you in the first place so theres no need to stress.

lesbian related discourse tires me out sm. first it was aro/ace lesbians then it was nonbinary lesbians then it was he/him lesbians and it/its lesbians and now its bi/pan/mspec lesbians like when are all of you going to realize that the lesbian experience is extremely diverse and has never been as strict as "women who only identify as women who love exclusively women who only identify as women". like this goes for many identities but lesbians end up at the forefront a lot and it makes me wonder if any of you actually give a shit about queer history because istg lesbian separatism has been reinvented like 50 times in the past decade.

stop convincing each other that the queer experience is nothing but strictly defined boxes and labels that can always be condensed into one sentence. lesbians can experience a lack of sexual attraction and a lack of romantic attraction and lesbians can be nonbinary and lesbians can be gnc and when you actually go into what those last two mean you should realize that yes this means sometimes lesbians are men because genderfluid and bigender and trigender and transmasc and whatever gender lesbians exist and when you actually goes into what THAT means you should realize yes actually people combining labels like mspec and lesbian makes perfect sense because of fucking course orientation and gender and whatever else you consider to be apart of your queer experience is all fluid its all up to personal interpretation

its not shit like bi lesbians or mogai or aroace people or gnc people or "trenders" or it/its users or whatever fucking bonafide weirdos that are ruining the community its the people who want to sort everyone into neat little boxes because they cant handle that sometimes you arent going to understand other peoples experiences. its fine if mspec lesbians dont make sense to you. its fine if it doesnt make sense to you how someone could use it/its, if it doesnt make sense how a lesbian could consider himself transmasc, if it doesnt make sense how someone could seriously mean "my gender feels like a star", if whatever queer experience you run into doesnt make sense.

someone's identity does not have to make sense for you to respect them as a person and realize that exclusionary behavior is nothing but a crabs in a bucket type mentality. not only have "weird" queer people existed since fucking forever, but even if they didnt the human experience is diverse and we still dont know everything about the world and why the fuck would you decide that no actually if it cant be understood it must be bad and you need to find out reasons for it to be bad. focus on the people who are actively hurting others, taking advantage of vulnerable people, dont become one of them. dont become one of the people who scorns anything they dont understand and hurts innocent people in the quest of getting rid of anyone who they deem is abnormal. its fucked up and being any type of exclusionist is fucked up.

bi lesbians, as an overall community, is just a bunch of people who decided that a complicated label fits their complicated attraction and thats Fine. it is literally fine. being a lesbian was never about being strictly a woman who strictly loves other women who are strictly women. its about loving women in a gay/queer way, whatever that means for the individual. if an individual person is using it in a transphobic way, then thats a fault of the person, not the label. but at its core, all the identity is about is about recognizing that attraction is complicated and identity is complicated and not everyone is comfortable putting themself in neat boxes for other people to scrutinize until they Get It.

to any mspec lesbians (and hell, any mspec gays) who are reading this: im proud of you and theres nothing wrong with recognizing that your identity is complicated and maybe even contradictory. its Your experiences and no one has the right to say that youre inherently a bad person simply because they heard some strawman arguments and decided to believe in fallacy over reality. and because its probably obvious why im making this yeah maia arson crimew is literally fine its an absolute legend actually and i hope that its okay. fuck anyone who was a piece of shit to it because they cant handle someone being openly complicated and contradictory and unabashedly "Weird"

The first time you encounter the spider-boy was on a particularly stressful day. You just finished texting Miles that you needed a breather and wanted to hang ontop of your apartment rooftop for a few hours, just to clear your mind.

To your surprise, it seemed like the Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman coincidentally swung by your rooftop and needed a break too.

That sparked a rather.. interesting dynamic between the both of you. You were sort of taken aback on how fond Spiderman seemed of you, since he'd visit almost every other day.

For starters, hugs seemed to last far longer than they needed to when it came to you. You've seen his public appearances, how the exchange seemed to last a mere second with his fans. However with you, it lingers. It stays for almost two seconds longer and almost as if he's starved of such affection.

Secondly was the way he'd swing by at the most random and ungodly hours of the night to knock at your window and go; "I made you a playlist :)" while you just have to let him in and listen to the whole thing with him. You have no idea how he knows that you barely sleep either.

Thirdly is the way he'll always try to put a smile on your face. It'll always be your favorite thing whenever there's a silly thing going on and he looks at you to see if you saw it too, just so he'll see you laugh and laugh along with you.

And one of the more embarassing things to mention were the public appearances. You and Spiderman often went on hangouts, (he called them dates and you unintentionally friendzoned him) and even if you do your absolute best to avoid it, you'll always find paparazzi spotting the both of you. But even amidst the crowd, you can see how his attention is fixed on you. As if nothing could break his gaze if attempted.

You won't ever forget the time that Miles, your best friend and long term crush asked where you got the keychain on your bag from (which was a gift from Spiderman after he pointed at matching keychains and practically declared to everyone in the store he was buying it for you) and you answered: "Someone special to me." You noticed a bit of a glint or glow in his eyes, almost as if he was happy for you.. for some reason.

Though you did admit you found it a little strange.. your best friends sudden Q&A sessions about Spiderman, you mean.

"What do you think about Spiderman?"

"Pretty cool superhero, amiright?"

"His costume does NOT look like hes bleeding from his armpits, surely you'll agree?"

You find it odd but brush it off, at least you're done with class for the day and get to meet with the center topic of every question Miles has asked you today.

"Spiderman." Smiling as he swung onto your rooftop, he arrives on time with the same flashy landing. "(name)!" There he goes to practically tackle you into a hug, squeezing you tightly as you can see the joy in his eyes. "I know that it's only been a few minu- ahem. hours.. since we last saw each other, it's been so lonely!"

You raise a brow in amusement, chuckling a little at his antics. "Aren't you the Spiderman? I'm sure you have a lot of friends or fans who'd love to see you." You inquired but he shakes his head a little and sighs.

"Well yeah.. of course I do, but you're the one I wanna spend time with."

"..That's so unbelievably cheesy-"

"Shut up!" He demands, causing you to laugh at his almost instant embarassment. "You know, my best friend was asking so much about you.. I think he's your biggest fan." You add to the conversation, leaning against a safety fence as he chuckled. "Really? What gives you that idea?"

You huff and cross your arms. "Just.. weird questions. What I think of you, if you're cool and if your costume looked like you were bleeding out if your armpits."

"What did you answer?"

"I didn't answer any of them," You say with a huff, already feeling a headache coming in right after recalling that memory. "But I do think you're bleeding out of your armpits."

"RUDE."

It doesn't take a genius to tell he's unamused even under the mask, how his eyes looked spoke enough volumes. The iconic 'are you serious.' look was evident enough and it makes you giggle, giving him a light nudge. "I'm kiddinggg... kind of."

Spiderman chuckles and crosses his arms, looking at your fit of giggles and smiling softly under his mask. "Cute."

"I'm curious.. you talk about this friend of yours alot.. Miles, isn't it? What's he like?" He asks curiously, knowing damn well he just wants to hear what you say about him to other people. Was this the best way to do it? Not exactly, but curiosity kills the cat.. or whatever the saying is.

"Did I not tell you about him? Well.. he's a bit of a clutz.. rather clumsy at times, usually bumping into me or something.."

Miles was going to pretend he doesn't know the reason he does that is to just be able to be super close to you.

"Sometimes he's a little bit reckless, usually a very messy guy and leaves a mess whenever he goes over to my house.. However, despite all of that.. I really really like him."

What.

"You like m- Miles ???"

He watches you smile fondly at the sky. "Yeah. A lot."

If only you could see the face he's making under that mask, a mix of fluster and absolute joy at those words. You actually liked him. "Well.. what stops you from telling him?" Miles inquired, watching you sigh and bury your head into your hands. "And what? Get badly rejected and lose my best friend? Nah man.. I can't lose him, not like that."

"Hey, look at me."

He places his hands on your shoulders, making you look right at him as he gives you a reassuring squeeze. "You don't have to be so afraid, I don't think there's much to lose.. who knows? Maybe he feels the same."

You chuckle a little at the idea, completely clueless to how excited Miles was gonna be once he gets that text from you. "Thanks, Spiderman."

"You're welcome."

I deserve financial compensation every time I have to read a post that posits that Jason is actually the good big brother that's there for his siblings and Dick is the big mean golden child that can do whatever he wants and turns his siblings away when they need help. Well, I mean, I know- you don't read the comics AND you take everything at face value. I get it, when I first entered the fandom- the way people talk about Dick and Jason and Tim and Damian? They'd have you believe that Jason and Tim were delivered to Earth by angels with a chorus singing in the heavens and a light following them everywhere their delicate, innocent feet went. Everything they do is either Justified or Morally Correct. Nothing is Ever Their Fault. They deserve your sympathy and awe, and nothing short of worship is an attack on their character. They'd have you believe that Dick is a Monster, that Everything is his fault, that he's an inherently bad and selfish person because He Tried but He Didn't Devote Himself Entirely to Jason and Tim and Thats Bad and He Deserves To Be Punished For It and that Damian is a Demon, that he's always going to make the choice that serves himself and hurts others, that even though he's a 10 year old boy with a complicated, abusive upbringing, Everything is His Fault Entirely and He Doesn't Deserve Understanding or Mercy.

That's what you see and hear when you enter this fandom. And unless you actually read the comics or do the research by looking through blogs with meta commentary on the comics (with panels provided) or interact with fan media that is based on the comics And Not The Fanon- this is the false opinion that remains.

It drives me crazy that people refuse to engage with the actual canon of something they claim to be a fan of. What are you a fan of if you have no idea what you're talking about? It drives me crazy, because theres so much of this fanon content, you have to literally dig and dig and dig and dig and dig and dig to find the truth. And the truth is so Unbelievably, Undeniably

I’m getting ready for tonight while listening to some music. I can’t stop thinking about marc though.. but I guess that’s a problem for in an hour.

Okay i’m finally ready and hear the bell ring, I look out of my window and see Liz. I run downstairs and open the door. ‘Hi future mrs Guiu!’ she says teasingly, ‘Liz oh my god shut up.’ I reply. I mean not that I wouldn’t like it.. but still.

‘Are you ready to go y/n?’ ‘Yes Liz’ I say and we start walking to the party. Luckily Mateo only lives like 7 minutes away from us. As we enter his house we see Lamine and Hector and greet them. We talk for a bit but then I really needed to go to the bathroom. ‘I’ll be back in a few minutes, bye!’ I say.

I’ve been at Mateo’s house a few time so luckily I know where the bathroom is.

After i’m done I wanted to walk back to where my friends were but then a guy walked up to me. He’s quite tall and attractive.. but nothing next to Marc though.

‘Sorry.. i’ll be back!’ I say to the guy who’s name I didn’t even get. I walk towards where Marc was walking and see he’s with our friend group.

‘Hi..’ I say. ‘You took long, thought you were making out with someone for a minute’ Liz says and I can see Marc getting more annoyed.. ‘Wouldn’t be surprised at this point.’ Lamine says jokingly and I reply ‘Don’t be mad at me because you cant pull Lamine.’

‘I’m going home, you coming with me Hector?’ Marc says all of a sudden. ‘Oh yeah sure.’ Hector replies. ‘Oh.. ehm, bye Marc.’ I say but he ignores me, maybe he just didn’t hear me.. but then again when the rest of the group says bye he does say something, odd.

A few hours later the party is done and me and Liz walk home. ‘Liz? After I went to the bathroom a guy walked up to me.. we started talking and he seemed interested.’ I say. ‘Oh my god really? Im so happy for you!’ ‘Thank you, don’t think Marc is happy for me though. He saw us and didn’t look too excited for me.. and when we both were back to our friendgroup he also looked annoyed and ignored me.’ I say. ‘You know what that means right y/n?? He likes you.’ You see, I really love Liz.. but sometimes she IS delusional because there’s no way.

The next day I wake up and luckily it’s still weekend. I open my phone and decide to text Marc since we were supposed to hang out today.

HONESTLY?!!!!! we have a complicated relationship. i really like zhao as a villain and i say that so very honestly. i think people make him out to be a lot stupider than he really is but at the same time he really is stupid in the way that evil men are always stupid. i think hes extremely despicable and hideously vain and his vanity clouds his judgement and causes him to make rash decisions.

this is all stuff we know about him already though its just that somehow that makes him come off as less scary to fans somehow?? but theres nothing scarier than a big loud man with a temper when youre a teenager with trauma from a dad like ozai. that agitation he so easily draws out of zuko is familiar to me.

i think that the way he makes himself seem SOOO above zuko while simultaneously licking ozais boots to get more power makes him even more ridiculous. and in an ironic way yeah because of all that i think hes a moron but unironically no i dont think hes stupid at all. it doesnt take a stupid man to work your way through the viper nest thats the fire nation high court. i dont think it takes an idiot to find wan shi tongs library and somehow manage to slither back out alive despite clearly lying to wan shi tongs face under his own roof. i dont think it takes an idiot to deduce who the blue spirit is. however it DOES take an idiot to think that killing the moon spirit to be rid of waterbenders when you come from a literal island nation in the tropics and your military relies heavily on its navy and you LITERALLY are using an armada to launch this grand attack

and the fact that zhaos ambitions were centered on making himself more powerful and admired and he was doing literally everything to get zuko out of the way to make that happen when zukos reasons for capturing aang were so much more desperate and sad (not that that makes it ok but yall know what i mean). well im glad u asked here are some books NOT on coquette booktok (and one that is)

u have to read lolita by nabokov thats what kickstarted the subculture a difficult but beautiful read nabokov is a true word smith and theres only one other author who crafts imagery on his level

and that author is TONI MORRISON. if you want a book on female friendships, isolation, magical realism and truly unhinged female characters read sula. this is my favorite book of alllll time truly nothing comes close at all the titular character is so interesting is blunt and sensual and odd just like her best friend nel and this is a book i have to read to truly experience

if you loved lolita and want a story similar but about black girls read the bluest eye. this has two major TWs of csa and rape but toni does an amazing job at unpacking generational trauma, cruelty, colorism and desirability and how that effects young black girls esp dark skin black girls. i recommend it to non black coquettes all the time bc some (a lot) of them need to learn some empathy for their black sisters

bonkour tristesse is a quick summer read written by an actual 17 year old in the 1960s about a young girl living a bohemian life with her father until he behins dating her deceased mothers best friend and and she does anything she can to stop it. i read this in a day it was so fun and the author being a teen when she wrote it gives the main character and interesting voice

the moth diaries which i just finished like 4-5 hrs ago is a sapphic gothic novel set in a boarding and day school focusing on the boarding students and their isolated existence its really good def a psychological thriller and you’re left unsure what is real and what is the unnammed narrators psychosis. you can feel her slowly losing her sanity on the pages

stolen by lucy christopher is an older YA novel abt a young girl kidnapped by an older handsome man who she develops stockholm syndrome for. its told with the framing device of a letter its all in past tense and its set in the australian desert so lots of tension here

pure consciousness and observation

ive had ppl ask what what exactly is consciousness and what does it mean & ive had them ask about how to “observe” to get their desires. youre already over complicating it so lets strip all of that away.

nothing is real. anything you deem as real is false. even your thoughts doubts and fears, ego or subconscious is your “false” self. you are only consciousness. things do not exist without you being aware of them first. so awareness = consciousness.

you probably live in a house with a toilet but were you aware of it a few seconds ago? (maybe) but if you werent, since your attention or awareness is on it you are conscious of it so it now exist for you.

so can you “manifest” as pure consciousness? no. to manifest means you are required to do something. youre not required to do shit if YOU dont want to. you are the source. but can you get what you want as pure consciousness? yes absolutely.

you already ARE that. you are consciousness meaning you are everything that could ever be. if u want an “sp” then you have them simple. if you want money then you have it simple. there is no need to separate reality into dimensions that is the opposite of non dualism. you are one

how do you do it? this is where observations come in. theyre not a technique. you dont need to go “hm im going to observe this and get what i want” thats unnecessary. the moment you are aware of it, it is yours because it is you.

if you like walking then go for a walk. observe the trees and the grass. just stop thinking you need to do something or be something when you already are. you can observe whatever you want and youll notice a lot of things that felt very real to you disappear.

if you still are looking to get something then return to your natural self; the observer. life happens thru you not to you. observe your walls or your hand or whatever you want. you dont need to fight your thoughts, just observe them and let them pass. theyre not real anyway

useful(useless) popee the performer OC guide/tips!!!!

hello everyone!!! my name is dishka, and im an PTP fan since 2019! recently, i did an OC and thinked alot, looking at ptp characters to make it more canon-like. soooo i wanna share what i noticed in characters designs that may be useful for making OC's! lets start

APPEARANCE: based on colors, mostly.

okay, let's take a look at PTP characters:

so, when you first looking at those characters, you can mainly notice the colors, maybe. its like 3-4 main colors(not taking shades of one color as different. also im not sure if white counts!). there is ALWAYS some print on outfit(stripes on popee's jumpsuit, stars on kedamono's shorts) or its just double-colored(papi's jumpsuit). i guess i should say there's something like a main theme in character. even if im not sure about "animal" theme(because kedamono is just a straight up wolf and popee is still a human just in animal outfit), theres space theme in papi and marifa(who wasnt in the show but i still count her!!)

i also may say that her colors is limited too, so this works with all characters, yeah. ALSO i noticed that everyone has something on their head(mask/hat), so i guess that's important too, even if maybe not necessary. to quickly show how I did it, i'll just leave my oc here:

so, basically, theres limited colors, a theme, i also added this neck thingy to match circus better... and i did it kinda close to ptp author's artstyle bc i wanted to.

PERSONALITY/STORY: short af

so umm theres not alot to say about how to be with a personality but there's always like maybe 2-3 traits in character, like they are very simple, nothing too complicated. ofc you can do it as you want, but if you wanna make your oc as close to canon as possible i recommend not overdoing their personality & story. just think of like... how are they acting near canon characters maybe?? what would they do in different situations?? where they came from, why are they in the circus?? and something basic like that.

im sorry for complaining about this again and im gonna remain frustratingly vague as usual but to me it feels like there are some fundamental misunderstandings when it comes to jaime and some of the things that are being explored in depth in his arc and how, and a lot of that misunderstanding is deflected with the “redemption vs no redemption” discourse where that very concept isnt even meaningfully defined, especially in the context of his story. his character is very often simplified down to an extreme (and also confused) dichotomy that does nothing but force all discussion of complicated characterization, themes, and actual difficult choices being made (and why, and how those choices are restricted by external or internal factors, and what desires of his are selfish or commendable) to a halt by virtue of being frustratingly reductive. like a lot of ppl just dont engage with this character properly because of the “complex asoiaf characters being locked inside of fandom created boxes they dont fit” phenomenon. one of the greyest characters in asoiaf is just not allowed to be grey because of the redemption dichotomy. he either has to be a golden retriever with no agency of his own when it comes to the evil he does or enables who is only making selfless choices since jumping into the pit (as if this kind of simple linear trajectory is a requirement for an arc to be one thats exploring reformation and the struggle with atonement & redemption, among other things) or a morally black villain with all of his redeemable and heroic aspects diminished, whose difficult position of being in the middle of a lot of conflicting oaths that is full of moral grey area (so many vows speech) and cannot be made to compromise — as well as his house (including his 8 year old son) being under existential risk — is just outright ignored, his internal conflicts, guilt/shame, and self reflection misconstrued, his development denied, and everything he decides to do being read in bad faith to neatly fit a specific narrative that actively rejects the questions proposed through his character arc (that the author himself openly talks about in interviews, if you still refuse to believe it is the intention). and please stop acting like george is even trying to give you a straightforward easily digestible and resounding yes/no answer to these questions. like theres an actual allergy to complexity here, and i cant even act shocked when i see some of the most basic aspects of his character being missed. and for me it is especially easy to recognize when certain talking points are being regurgitated rather than actually thought about meaningfully or independently bc ive seen every opinion on him under the sun, and it is really not that hard to spot

before u start, ur gonna need yarn and a crochet hook, u can watch this vid to like know everything abt that before u do start

right so this playlist on yt has everything u need to know, obviously u don't need to do the small projects in between or at the end

Heres how to do a slip knot (the way u start ANY crochet project) in an easy way and not in an overly complicated way like how everyone else does

Just watch the first part of the video on how to do the slip knot

And here's a vid that shows how to do a magic ring using the chain 2 method, which trust me, will make ur life SO much easier

U will also need to learn the magic knot, which is how u join 2 different yarns together but u can do that later or js watch a tutorial on yt when it comes to that. (U can watch Bella Coco's vid on that)

All right so these r the basic things ull need to know for now, and only rlly need to know the 6 main stitches (chain stitch, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet) and how to increase and decrease (there r 2 types: regular decreases and invisible decreases) to crochet like any project. Obviously some projects will need a complex stitch here or there but it's not anything that u can't watch a tutorial for.

U will also eventually need to learn to read patterns, as there are abbreviations for the stitches. Theres also smth known as crocheting in the front and back loops but that's nothing to worry about since it's not a stitch, but just a loop in where to place ur stitch in. l'll putapicture of the abbreviations, since they're also used in yt tutorials

Club crochet (for amigurumi, which is the Japanese word for plushies)

Hooked by Robin (for amigurumi)

WAHOO SOL BACKSTORY TIME. Well . More like Sols Deal with pandemonium. her entire childhood can wait for another day. this is her ass

First I need to give some context to the kingdom she lives in. Its a giant (and I mean HUGE. thousands of people live on it. you see those little lines of the sides? those are Trains to take you to each section. if thats a better size comparison) heres a drawing of it

Praecanema was founded and built by a supposed “great scientist” named Velda.

This giant hunk of metal roams around in a polluted desert, keeping the people inside safe from the outside air. Science is very important here, and your worth is dependent on your contributions. The kingdoms symbol is the trifecta, and its used to represent the scientific process (problem, effort, solution). The kingdom itself is anti magic, and has a superiority complex over magic users. Everyone here is kinda a massive asshole.

This was all instilled into their brains through Veldas propaganda. Why is she so anti magic? Because shes a Fraud. Infact, she uses magic Herself. She never was a great scientist, she has been harnessing the power of an entity to give her the intelligence to do any of this in the first place. This entity is also helping this giant machine to run. It was never organic fuel, it was Magic. To keep anyone from finding out, she turned her kingdom against the concept of magic entirely.

Time skip a couple of decades, and this entity is starting to grow tired of Velda constantly taking advantage of it. Veldas power over it id starting to slip. With no entity, theres no one to run the ship, and with no ship, theres no protection from the outside air. Everyone would have to evacuate, and Velda would lose her precious kingdom and reputation. She needs a new fuel source before this entity detaches from her entirely, but since shes a fraud scientist she needs Help.

This is where Sol comes in. Its not uncommon from people on this ship to be crazy, but Sol fits under the Crazy Crazy. Known to take her experiments to far, and getting herself hurt in the process. Shes also been in trouble with the law on multiple occasions. So basically, the perfect candidate for Velda to pull into her experiment. Not only has she been know to do crazy things in the name of science, shes also Completely Disposable if something goes wrong. No ones gonna miss the criminal.

Sol has constantly been belittled and is always fighting for peoples respect, so when Velda offered her to opportunity to work on a project with her, she was Thrilled. The leader? of our kingdom? wants to work with MEEE?? THAT’LL SHOW THE HATERS.. So, Sol accepts.

Sol is also currently living with her childhood best friend (they are yuri.. but its. Complicated…) Dia. Sol has only ever had Dia to rely on, so the two are very close. Heres an img of her . her relevancy will come later

Anyways. Sol was instructed to keep this project a secret by Velda. She said it was to keep panic off the streets, but it was definitely just to cover up all her lies about magic.

The experiments started relatively tame, trying to convert organic resources into fuel. Nothing was working, none of it was powerful enough to run the entire ship. Unknowingly to Sol, this was because it wasn’t built to run on organic sources, it was built to run on Magic.

After tireless research, Sol exhausted all her resources. Hope was Slim. Or so she thought🤓☝️. One night at a bar, Sol drunkenly gets into a conversation with another scientist. Vaguely mentioning how her project is failing. The scientist brings up the ideas of mixing magic and science offhandedly, but it sticks with Sol. (fun fact, the scientist was illusioned in by Pandemonium (lore here if u haven’t read it https://www.tumblr.com/weedsmokingbfs/732808761161465856/not-my-ass-already-forgetting-important-lore-he its probably best to read this rq if you haven’t already) in order to set up his plan for later)

Reluctantly, Sol brings up the idea to Velda. Velda pretends to be hesitant, but its Relived Sol brought it up First. Velda pulls the “well i wouldn’t usually want to.. But if its the Only Way to Keep Everyone Safe🥺” card. So she gets to work on experimenting with different types of magic.

Originally just with the idea of casting spells on the ship, but she quickly realizes this would require a constantly influx of magic that would just be to draining for someone to do. The ship is also so large it would require Multiple People casting spells all throughout the day, which isn’t feasible. Then she moved onto the idea of harvesting magic from magical plants, or items, but over time the magic would weaken or fade out entirely. She needed an Infinite Magic source.

During all of this, Sol was being horribly overworked. She was growing more irritable, and was being a massive dick to Dia lol. Dia knew she was snapping because of all the work on her, and told her that maybe she should step down from this mystery project. Sol lost it on Dia, saying they were jealous of her. She had worked so hard for respect for so long, and now, she “had” it. Why couldn’t they just be happy for her? The argument got worse, and ended with Dia saying until Sol gets her shit together, shes staying with her mom. Sol was back to being alone.

This is when things erm. start to get a bit dark. Sol has an encounter with an immortal magic user, and realizes hey Wait a Minute. This is an infinite magic source, they cant die because they have magic keeping them alive, so no matter how much magic you harvest from them, the source Renews itself. Sol brings it up to Velda, not fully sure about it, since it requires human experimentation. Sols crazy but maybe not torture an innocent person crazy. Velda who does not give a Fuck immediately pressures Sol into it. Hinting that things may not go very well for her if she Doesn’t Comply. Sol instantly starts to feel some regrets but Whoops we are in it now boys.

She gets to work and kidnaps the immortal, and begins experimentation. Harvesting magic from the immortal, as their body continually regenerated itself. Low and behold it Worked in powering the machine. The problem is One immortals magic is not enough. It could only fuel small parts. She needed multiple. But its not like a handful of immortal magic users are just lying around anywhere.

This is where Pandemonium comes in, striking up a deal with Sol. Promising with Sols help he could possess the bodies of people, making them immortal through his magic. As long as Sol promised not to kick him out of the bodies. He claimed he was trapped inside mirrors, (the surface he can Naturally traverse) so Sol letting him into these bodies would benefit him too. (he’s LYINGG!) She takes the deal, and helps him into the bodies of some innocent people to become apart of the experiment. Yayyyyyyyyyy.

Her mental and physical health massively declined during this time, turns out being around lifeless bodies all day n experimenting on them is Really Draining! But Sol is to deep in it now, and the pressure from Velda only grows. Erm. Things get worse though.

Dia, collecting some of her things from Sols house, stumbles across papers of the work shes been doing. (once again Pandemonium let Dia find these. just the next step in his story) Her curiosity wins and she reads them, they dont reveal the full situation, but raise concerns. Dia investigates further, not fully knowing what shes getting into. It ends with her finding out about the human experimentation, to her disgust. She has bigger problems now though, because she was Also Caught, she manages to escape in time but now Velda knows Dia knows. Velda knows the only way to keep this project safe, is to “dispose” of Dia. Sol, fights aside, doesn’t want Dia to fucking Die. So she tells Velda she will take care of Dia.

Sol isn’t sure what to do, or how to protect Dia, until Pandemonium comes to her with an idea! Oh boy. Pandemonium tells Sol to let him possess Dia as well, and add her to the experiment. She wont have to kill her, and Dia will totally be unconscious and not in pain!!! 😁 And once everything with Velda calms down, Pandemonium will let Dia go :3. Sol is hesitant, but sees this as the better option to her dying. She accepts, and Dia becomes another body in the experiment.

Time goes on, Sols practically at her limit. Overworked and guilt ridden. Anything would push her over the edge. This anything, happens to be one of the people waking up during the experiment, crying and sobbing about how much pain they are in. (lowkey… i think its Dia. because im Evil.) Turns out, everyone could feel Everything Sol was doing. She was unknowingly Torturing them. She fucking snaps, and decides shes Done. She doesn’t care what happens anymore she cant go on like this.

Erm. If you remember, the premise of the deal was that Sol wasn’t allowed to force Pandemonium out of the bodies, or else the deal would be broken. And thats exactly what she does. She frees the possessed people, and the deal is broke. Pandemonium now owns Sols soul and drags her off to puppet hell.

Erm. This feels like a depressing ending but um. her story is not over… its just not finished yet because she exsists in a dnd campaign 😅 so i have to. Wait. LMFAO. I have more lore for her puppet days, but ill wait to explain it till i get to chesils lore. THIS IS ALR SO LONG

one of the first ideas that came to my head when i first read this when it was sent in a few hours ago is that theres some level of disconnect... for lack of a better word. i mean toby himself doesnt feel pain, and he has mixed feelngs about it. on one hand he knows it makes him different and that often makes him feel like an outsider. on the other hand, he uses it as an advantage to power through things. the topic is complicated with him, and when it comes to you he doesnt fully understand why you're so careful with yourself; its not as if youre made out of glass

not to say that he completely invalidates your pains. no, i think the opposite would be true. he cares about you a lot and hes going to hold onto you, and not let go. he is clingy and he is going to be obnoxious about it

i think he makes little notes to remember what helps with you (the admin totally isnt self projecting and giving toby horrible memory, definitely not), as well as leaves little notes for you to find throughout the day. cute ones, encouraging ones.. a little clunky and awkward but hey its the thought that counts!

^usually does the little notes for you on days where hes not going to be available for whatever reason, be it he needs to be put to work or what. honestly i dont think its uncommon for him to go MIA for a few days at a time given the nature of his work as a proxy

totally doesnt shoplift things that you like/will ease your pain. meds, snacks, stuff like that. that he paid for, obviously! nooo its not weird that hes asking to hide out at your house for a few hours he didnt do nothing!

offers to do your chores and stuff (with varying success) so you can lay down and rest. tends to only really offer them on your worse days, again in part to him not fully being able to grasp the level of pain youre in every day. hes trying his best!

gets you movies and games.. sometimes books, heating pads/blankets, things like that as well

less of a comfort guy and more of a distraction guy, definitely not a solutions guy; asides from getting (stealing) things for you, thats about where a lot of his comfort/solutions end, hes more so better prepared to keep your mind off of the pain with conversation and jokes and the aforementioned movies/books/games

definitely helps him to understand if you explain whats going on with you, be it simply saying whats hurting and why or even explaining your diagnosis, gives him something more solid to digest and work off of instead of just basic labels

i said i would make this post, so here i am. here is the red guy analysis, starting with this qna answer from baker terry. i talked about this question before, it was “whos your favorite to write for?” and after a bit of debate the answer ended up being red guy for pretty much everyone. i mentioned that, but i left out this answer specifically because of how significant it is. im gonna go on a bit of a tangent here, but i promise itll come back around and make sense

this is what ive been saying about red guy!! hes been going through a constant character arc that never reaches its completion because he is torn down again and again. “hes sensible and together until he isnt” is such a good description, because he might be the MOST normal character but he isnt truly normal. not really. thats very important.

i think red guy is a realistic character, a very human character, and the thing about people is that we’re not as normal as we think. there are differences about all of us that don’t quite fit, and some of us moreso than others, but that is the true normal. true normal is to not be normal. that is what red guy represents to me. we relate to him and think he is sensible because he is, but that doesnt mean hes free of oddness altogether. thats what makes him even more relatable.

but he doesnt realize this, hes riddled with insecurity, and THATS what makes him the way he is. he doesnt quite fit anywhere. hes out of place in his own world, and hes out of place in every other world as well. he doesnt enjoy the house, and he tries to run, but even when he runs he doesnt like what he finds outside. he’ll never find a place where he perfectly fits. he’ll try, but he’ll fail.

but thats another thing. because he doesnt fit anywhere as he is, he usually tries to fit in instead. the characters around him (the fax machine thingy, the trash can, lily and todney) they all tell him that theres something wrong with him and the way he lives, that he could be better, that all he has to do is listen to them and he’ll be normal and respected. and so he does. he listens to them and tries his best to be happy with it. hell tell himself that hes normal and everyone loves him now. that weird people are below him, that nothing is wrong with him because hes perfect. he wont believe it, he’ll be unhappy playing pretend, but at least hes better than everyone else now. at least hes the most normal one. at least hes normal, right?

but then he’ll end up back home, and things will go differently tomorrow. there could be a day where hes waltzing around in clothes, masking who he is and pretending to like it. but then there could be a day where hes coming to terms, where he looks in the mirror and he doesnt care much what others think anymore. where he’ll say “im not supposed to wear clothes, this is the way i look” finally sticking up for himself. he’ll start being kinder, to others and himself. he’ll start being more honest, more open, more loving. he’ll still be as average and monotone as ever, but he’ll be slightly different. he’ll be happier with himself as he is, he’ll ACTUALLY like himself instead of just pretending.

but happiness doesn’t last in a house like theirs. his memory loss will rip away at the realizations he has. he’ll go right back to being bitter and miserable. i dont believe the house is in a timeloop, i hate that theory with a burning passion, but thats besides the point. timeloop or not, he’ll be built up, and then the next day he’ll be knocked back down. he never reaches a point where hes fully happy and i doubt he ever will. i doubt any of them ever will. it makes me so sad, but at least he gets close enough.

in conclusion, duck and yellow guy are very nonsensical and complicated characters, but red guy is too, just in a calmer and more easy-to-understand sense. just because hes the regular, human kind of complicated does not mean he isnt worth analyzing. i wish people would see him as more complex instead of just “relatable depressed tumblr sexyman” like if yall paid attention youd realize that yes, he pulls off the suit, but hes miserable in it. it’s literally him masking. i wish people paid more attention to these things. no shame if you dont, hes supposed to be a more chilled out character compared to the other two, so its natural that people wouldnt think as hard about him. but hes not as smart and reasonable as yall give him credit for, he is until he isnt.

or, if we want to go with the gayer conclusion:

hes YOUR babygirl because hes hot in a suit, but hes MY babygirl because he thinks electricity is magic. because hes an embarrassment to everyone around him. because he doesnt like wasting food or making a mess. because all he wants is a family, and he already has one, but its not normal or functional enough for him. because he smiles more often than everyone thinks. because hes actually kind of an asshole but duck outshines him in that department. because hes selfish and yet he dislikes himself. because he is complicated in the most human way, with a little bit of an inhuman thought here and there. because i am in love with him im just going insane now i need to shut this shit down. ive gotten my point across. goodbye, i love you ! hey sorry im bringing up an ask thats about a week old but re: rinne amagi transmasc thing:

the whole "going against your family's expectations/leaving your home and becoming who you want" could be read as trans metaphor (so could his old more fake persona of "good guy idol" vs his current "fuck you i do what i want attitude" come to think of it)

when it comes to rinne calling niki wife, its not funny if nikis transmasc and rinne isn't it just feels kinda mean tbh. however trans dude calling cis guy wife is funny (better yet: niki transfem/nb egg. rinne is chipping away at that shell more every day)

i like the idea of both amagis being transmasc, fic i havent posted yet but follows this general plot with little amagi bros: "hey im a boy now" "woah thas so poggers,,, i wish i could do that" "Boy Do I Have News For You"

its actually not a hc ive seen that much compared to other trans hcs, fics with trans rinne are few and far between. and i think there should be more

yeah i can sorta see where youre coming from . i hc niki as transmasc agender and rinne as cis*. theres nothing wrong with using feminine terms for a transmasc person as long as theyre comfortable with it. i think niki is fine with it but only if its rinne, because he knows rinne doesnt see him as a girl and is using it as a term of endearment rather than a method of degrading him. so its something of a pet name for them rather than a word that means something . as for fanfics i wouldnt know cuz i only read doujinshi (i hate reading anything without pictures)

* hes cis by definition but his relationship with his gender is more complicated than this. a better term might be "cis+" if that makes any sense. i hc a lot of characters this way
