The Inheritance
Guys, I keep messing up the timeline. So here we go. Christian, Geri, and Mitch find out about Lorenzo and your parents disowning you at your last F2 race. Max finds out about Lorenzo in this chapter (although not written in detail). Max then finds out about your parents in chapter 18 “All For You.”
This is proof that I listen to my readers :D @dreamy-state-of-mind asked to see how reader bought her cars and this chapter was created! I can't do every ask for an idea but I try to listen to what y'all want!
Y'all are being fed...two chapters in a row (which means the next one won't be out for a little bit - so I apologize!)
Like always comments, questions, concerns, reblogs, and likes are always appreciated! Enjoy!
TAG LIST IS CLOSED
Your hands were in your pockets as you walked around the open room. You had somehow lost Max, Vito, AND Christian. It wasn’t like you meant to walk away, you just did on accident. How could someone know that the foreign car dealership was this big. Well, you would know, but that’s beside the point.
It was quite cold in Germany. Thankfully, you had packed extra layers, something the men seemed to not know how to do. You were sure that Max would have worn his Red Bull polo if you didn’t mention to Kelly where you were going. Sure, he could dress on his own, but who would want that?
Your eyes gazed at all of the cars on the floor. Most were the common stock models. Audis, Mercedes, and even Volkswagens littered the area; yet, the cars you were looking for were nowhere to be found. You kept heading in the same direction, hoping to at least find a familiar someone who looked like they worked there.
Your ears picked up on some German words. Feet taking faster steps, you rounded a corner. Ah, there they were.
Somehow you completely missed seeing that the Porsches would be in a different room. You gingerly stepped farther into the vast open-ceiling room. Your hand itched to touch them, but you knew better.
Looking at the cars brought back some great memories of the first time your godfather took you here. Yes, he could have gotten any Italian brand of car that he wanted. Everything was at his fingertips. Yet, he brought 11-year-old you to Germany to get his imported cars.
Your eyes landed on a familiar model. If you thought hard enough, you could hear the imprints of Lorenzo’s and your laughs as he took you to do donuts in abandoned parking lots.
“A beauty isn’t she,” a voice scared you, causing you to fall on your ass. Your cheeks burned at the thought of being caught. Yet, when your eyes met familiar friendly ones, the redness left.
“Hi Seb,” you greeted as you took his outstretched hand that he offered. He pulled you to your feet and into a hug. After you were done, you pulled away to turn back to the car. This time, you let your hand gently grace the older door.
“Enzo had one,” you simply stated, leaving it at that. Most knew you didn’t like to talk about the man, since it brough on so many emotional memories.
Sebastian took a couple steps and stood next to you.
“Do you still have the keys to the garage?”
You grinned up at the German ex-driver. “Of course I have the keys. You know he left me the entire house.”
He bumped your shoulder, head jerking to lead you away from the car. You followed without hesitation.
“What do you plan to do with it?”
You cocked your head in thought. “I’m going to keep it for now. I don’t want to sell it. It’s not like I need the money anyway.”
He chuckled. “I forget that you’re like a multi-millionaire at 20.”
You just shrugged. “Not my fault that I was basically his only family. I never asked for it.” Your eyes dropped to the shiny floor below. A hand was placed on your shoulder.
“I know. I’m glad that you’re well off. Makes me feel better about not seeing you as much.” A sad smile graced his face as he looked at you.
You tried your best to give him a genuine one in return. “I’m doing much better than I was.”
“Have you showed Max your vast array yet?”
“Nope.” You popped the ‘p’. “I plan to soon, actually. I told him that I needed to go to Italy after this.”
Seb raised his eyebrows, but didn’t say anything else. You went to talk, but familiar voices echoed in the big room.
“Kid!”
“Seb?”
Your head whipped toward the sound. Ah, there they were.
And they brought an assistant with them.
Max and Christian looked at Seb in question as Vito brought the German into a big hug. You stood toward the side to watch the two friends reunite. The assistant took this opportunity to approach you.
“Ah Miss L/n, so good to see you again!”
“Again?” Max questioned, looking at you.
The assistant turned to the Dutchman. “Yes. Miss L/n has been a patron at this establishment for years now.” He turned back to you. “I have the two models that you called ahead for. I will lead you to them.”
The man turned on his heal and began to walk deeper into the room.
Sebastian was now talking to Vito and Christian, which led to Max walking by you.
“I didn’t know you’d been here before.”
You looked up at him with a sly smile. “My godfather bought a lot of his cars from here and would take me with him. Some of the cars at the front are a part of his collection that I donated when he passed. He left me so many, I didn’t know what to do with them.”
Max stopped in his tracks as you kept walking. Once he got over his shock, he sped up to catch you.
“So many?”
You placed a hand on his shoulder.
“Maxie, how much money do you think I have?” you asked, an innocent look on your face.
“Couple thousand?”
You shook your head.
An eyebrow rose. “A couple hundred thousand?”
Another shake as a mouth dropped.
Max looked around before whispering, “Millions?”
“Bingo. We’re going to tour my house when we go to Italy.”
You kept on walking, leaving the even more confused Dutchman.
“House?”
A few steps more and you had caught up with the group of four men. Christian whistled at the sight of what lie before him.
“Thank you Mr. Klein,” you shook the assistants hand as you looked at the two dark green cars in front of you. “Did the payment go through well?”
The man nodded. “Yes it did. Mr. and Mrs. Fischer send their best regards and also thank you for the donation.”
The four men (minus your manager) gawk at you. Yet, you were too busy beaming.
“I’m so glad. Tell them that I will reach out the next time I’m here for longer. I want to see their children again, I miss them.”
With a couple more goodbyes, weird stares, and going over plans to ship your Porsches to Monaco and England safely – you were on your way to Italy.
Thankfully Sebastian wanted to join, saying something about how he hadn’t seen the house in forever. Which brought on more questioning looks from Max.
However, Christian had to sadly say goodbye as he had a connecting flight to go somewhere else for business. You promised you’d send some pictures when you could.
A chauffer had met you at the airport, names written in fancy calligraphy on a starch white piece of paper.
The man gave you two cheek kisses as you greeted him.
“Guido! Come stai amico mio?” (how are you my friend?)
Max couldn’t wipe the look off his face as you began to talk to the older gentleman in perfect Italian. Vito only patted his shoulder.
“You’ll get used to it. She’s definitely someone to unravel. You’ll get there.”
The four of you then followed the man to the Rolls Royce that was waiting in the parking area. Suitcases were loaded in, and the three of you were on your way to your house.
Or, more like mansion/estate/castle that Max found out as the car pulled closer. He turned to you.
“Kid?”
“Inheritance Max. Inheritance.”
Your door was opened once the car was parked. Multiple people came out of the house, wanting to greet you.
“La mia famiglia! Mi siete manvati tutti!” (My family! I’ve missed all of you!”)
A couple of the staff took your bags as you walked through the giant doorway. Once you were through, you turned around and opened your arms.
“Max, welcome to Casa di Lorenzo Alessandrino.”
Max’s head was in a state of looking upwards as he walked in. He would have held his mouth open, but the interior seemed to demand respect as power and poise dripped from its walls. Now it was turn for Max’s hands to itch, wanting to touch everything.
Once everything was settled, you gave Max a tour as Vito and Seb went to go get some drinks. Your fingers twirled a special key ring as you led Max to your garage.
You turned to him and gave a smile. “You ready?”
Let’s just say, Max was not ready to see so many cars. Max let his jaw drop.
The garage was deep and long, probably housing close to 40-ish cars. Your eyes glimmered as you looked at the older cars that you missed dearly.
“You can go look you know,” you told Max as you made your way down the little staircase to the floor. Your heels clicked and echoed with each step. Max was quick to be on your tail. The Dutchman made his way quickly to each car, stopping for only a second before getting distracted by the next.
You hummed as you looked at the empty spot among the Ferrari’s on the back wall. You pointed to it when Max came up beside you again.
“The only car Lorenzo never had in his collection was the F40. I need to talk to Charles or Carlos about seeing how I can get one ethically. I want to complete the collection, but not pay far more than what it’s worth.”
Max nodded, soaking in your words. He was about to say something, but a flash of orange caught his attention. His eyes sparkled as he looked at the spaceship looking car.
“What kind of car is that?”
You smirked as you gazed on your most prize possession.
You walked closer and clicked the keys, making the car roar to life only for a second. (You don’t want to give you and Max monoxide poisoning.)
Your hand ran over the orangey hues that covered the car.
“This is the Apollo Project Evolution.”
Max looked down at the hyper car.
“What that a V12?”
“Yep. A Ferrari V12 to be exact. Three million dollars, one in ten made, over 700 horsepower, and completely street legal. I’d take you for a ride, but I would rather keep this between me and whoever knows about it.”
You turned on your heel to start walking toward the door where you walked in. “I bought it because it reminded me of the spaceship from Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Max snickered as he could imagine you at 14-years-old, watching that movie and falling in love with the space craft. Then, he imagined you last year, trying to find out how you could get your hands on it.
He took one last glance at the big room, before following you back into the house. He softly shut the big door behind him.
“Does Arthur know about this place?” he asked as he caught up to you, not wanting to get lost.
You softly smiled at him. “Yes. I brought him here after Lorenzo passed away in 2020. I just didn’t want to be alone. Vito was here as well.”
Max returned your sad smile. You and Vito had told him about the place on your way here. Tears were shed, hugs were given out, but you’d get through it.
But then he suddenly pouted at the thought of you not bringing him here earlier.
You tutted. “Don’t worry, Charles hasn’t been here if that’s what you’re pouting about.”
That brought an instant grin to his face. You rolled your eyes at his childishness. Soon, you joined Vito and Sebastian in the kitchen. Aperol Spritzes lined the kitchen counter. Your hand reached one, before Vito was thrusting an different one into your hands. You pouted when you realized that yours was probably nonalcoholic.
Sebastian snorted. “Let the kid have one.”
“Vito, what do you think they do for podiums? Make sure mine isn’t actual champagne?”
Vito rolled his eyes and handed you one from the kitchen counter. You quickly smiles and took a sip of the bubbly drink.
“So kid, did you show Max the garage?” Sebastian raised an eyebrow as he took a sip of his own drink.
You nodded as you placed your cup down. “Yep!”
“And the track?”
“You have a track!?”

20 Tarot Interpretations of The Moon
Tumblr media
Description, situation or advice
The subconscious. Deep psychological desires, needs, fears, insecurities, projections, triggers, repressed issues
Nightmares and dreams. What you need to address in your waking life can appear in your dreams. Sleep problems, insomnia
Hidden things and secrets. Hidden enemies, hidden factors, hidden motivation, or an implication that there are unknown aspects that are influencing the situation
Thus it can also indicate deception and illusion. The situation is not what it seems, or your understanding of the situation is skewed
Avoidance. Consciously or subconsciously not wanting to address the root cause of the current issue, or not wanting to see what you need to see. In special cases, cognitive dissonance
Confusion, uncertainty, vagueness, blocked intuition. A person may find this difficult to express/tell people and may choose to keep this to themselves
It can also indicate emotional distress; paranoia or trust issues, anxiety, expecting danger from the environment, feeling conflicted
On a positive note it can indicate psychic abilities or the time when your intuition is heightened. It is similar to having your gut feeling telling you to be careful or alert. Just make sure to not mistake fear/insecurity for intuition
Healing or integration of the shadow self; a message to confront and heal the parts of you that have been influencing you negatively (particularly the ones that feed your fear). Spiritual growth
The moon cycle, menstrual cycle
Tumblr media
Personality traits
Intuitive and perceptive: an ability to scan for danger and sense what is missing in the picture, they may not be able to put it into words but they can feel it
Psychic: they have psychic abilities and experience psychic phenomena; eg. telepathy, precognition. They may also get messages from dreams and feel connected to the moon
Private: someone who keeps to themselves or keeps parts of themselves hidden. Some of them may do this to protect themselves from danger (i.e self-protective)
Mysterious: someone who has layers to their personality and may appear mysterious and difficult to understand. Enigmatic, or tortured artist vibe
Sensitive: highly sensitive to the subtle changes in energies and can be easily affected by those (eg. getting physically ill by being around people who have negative intentions)
Creative: since they have a lot of things they carry in themselves, instead of communicating those directly they may choose to express themselves through art (poetry, music, visual art, etc)
Deep and empathetic: someone who seeks to understand things deeply, they may be attracted to the shadow aspect of life and people with flaws. They can be brooding
Introspective: someone who has the ability to look within and understand their inner world and unconscious patterns in their life
Truth-seeking: someone who desires truth
Avoidant: instead of truth-seeking, some of them are avoidant and emotionally unavailable to protect themselves (despite having strong emotions)
Extra: some of them won’t feel satisfied until they find the ugly ‘truth’ about a situation. They think that ugliness or negativity is a definite proof that something is real or true, the absence of it feels like a deception to them. So they might tell themselves that a negative thing is real despite it not being real. It’s creating their own enemy as a preparation, this act may be motivated by a need for self-protection or other subconscious things.
Wanting a situation that is clearly positive to be negative is not seeking truth or being real. There are two ways we can lie to ourselves; denying the existence of something that exists, and making up the existence of something that doesn’t exist.

Nooo don't get rid of the athlete/soccer player option!! ;___; It's my favorite!
I like the whole "This is a fine hobby but not stable/viable as a profession" theme going on with it and the musician route, with stakes much higher in soccer route due to possibility of injuries/wear and tear and age working against you.
And even if you have a college degree, your time to obtain "experience" gets limited and your chances to land a "proper (read: well-paying)" job gets smaller in the post-athlete era.
And let's face it: it doesn't have much wealth in social currency as far as where your family is concerned so you have family pressure on that frontier too (as seen with the auntie at the dinner).
With music, it takes connections but mostly luck and right timing: fame can happen at any age, especially in today's world. But sports have a bit of a time limit for reasons mentioned above.
MC does it all in a different country, away from their family too. So it all adds a different dimension to their struggles.
It's a headcanon but I also see both soccer/music routes MCs as struggling with feeling like a financial and emotional burden on their loved ones. They are constantly on the move, going from gig/match to another, photo ops/training camps/studio time, dealing with media, not much money earned due to amateur status which is also an issue when you are living in New York City, which is notoriously expensive to live in. So there is a lot of relying on Nat financially while not being able to return it equally, causing the relationship to fall apart regardless of how you feel.
If you play as queer, there is also that specifically in the soccer route. You are also canonically POC and an immigrant which is another thing that would make your path to success difficult in those (if not all) fields in the USA.
I like the whole "This is a fine hobby but not stable/viable as a profession" theme going on with it and the musician route, with stakes much higher in soccer route due to possibility of injuries/wear and tear and age working against you.
Ooh, I agree with the first one (and I think that vibe is paralleled with the "goddamn you became the wrong kind of doctor of the PhD student" and the "why do you have to be CEO of a shitty start-up (your own shitty start-up) instead of just work for a legit big company with iron-clad legitimacy".) And I really love the idea of 'wear and tear'/injuries and "you're not young anymore, and if you're not yet established, you might as well give up" (which adds an extra layer to MC's existential late-20s crisis and pressure to have a stable relationship too).
I also see both soccer/music routes MCs as struggling with feeling like a financial and emotional burden on their loved ones [...] So there is a lot of relying on Nat financially while not being able to return it equally. If you play as queer, there is also that specifically in the soccer route.
OK these two points I didn't think of, and I especially love the Nat part. I might add that in as a reason why y'all drifted apart when I next have the time to do some edits. It definitely is exactly the sort of 'adult' problem that... while Nat would never voice out loud / explicitly say is a problem, it does, as you say, put strain / pressure on the relationship and on MC esp. for MCs who feel like they need to pull their own weight.
But yes thank you for batting hard for the soccer player option.
I will consider keeping all the options in so long as you guys are OK that PhD student and singer will get significantly more extra scenes with Nat and Shay respectively.

@jegulus-microfic august 29 — walk — 1197 words —mention of sex but only because wolfstar are being desperate little shits aka summer holiday shenanigans
James hears Regulus quietly humming to himself where he’s walking a few paces in front of him, letting his fingertips slide against the sun warmed metal of the fence separating the property from the sidewalk.
They’re on their way to the little mart around the corner, more specifically the pizza place adjacent to it.
“Cheaper that way,” Sirius had mumbled into Remus’ mouth while they continued to suck at each other’s faces. Meaning, cheaper than with extra delivery fee, meaning leave us alone it’s about to get very not-PG13.
Regulus had started to look increasingly horrified and James had thought they deserved half an hour to themselves since Remus had only just gotten home from a week-long hike with his dad. They’d started to lean horizontally on their towels next to the pool when Sirius had blindly fumbled for his wallet and thrown sixty bucks in the general direction of his little brother and James and so they were on dinner duty while the other two made up for missed time.
James had quickly grabbed his smokes from the garden table and slipped into his old Adidas slides while Regulus had already fled for the front gate.
He lights himself one now before he slips the pack back into his swimming trunks. Regulus throws a glance over his naked shoulder at the sound of the lighter and lets himself fall back to sidle up next to James.
James grins as his cheeks hollow around the inhale and Regulus keeps looking at him out of the corner of his eye.
They both know Sirius would rather throttle him before he lets Regulus bum a cigarette but James had always had a weak spot for the younger boy.
Regulus shamelessly uses that for his advantage, of course.
Blinks dark lashes up at James with those icy blue eyes of his and the faintest layer of freckles dotting his regal, sunkissed nose and simply plucks the cigarette right out of James’ mouth before he can inhale properly a second time.
“Those aren’t good for you, y’know,” Regulus says matter-of-factly and then brings them to his own lips, humming obscenely around the first drag.
James’ lips twitch amused as he tries reaching for the smoke again, “Oh, and they are for you, right?”
Regulus leans away as he continues to suck in greedily, “Ah-huh,” voice husky around the lung full of smoke before blowing it out, “I’m younger than you, old man. My body can easily take it.”
James hums, grin widening, “Oh, yeah,” moves in closer and ducks his head, delighted in the hitch of Regulus’ breath, “What else can your body take?”
Regulus glares at him through the flush intensifying his sunburn, “Wouldn’t you like to know, Potter?”
James steals his cigarette back, “And what if I said I did?”
Regulus does a little growling noise that James finds startlingly sexy. Not his fault Regulus looks so edible when he’s flushed.
James snickers before he takes another long drag and then passes it back over to Regulus who takes it immediately. “How about a Thank you?”
“I literally hate you.”
“Sure you do, love,” James smiles and then pushes a palm against the warm dip of Regulus’ back to steer him around to the pizza place he nearly walked past, “Now, chop chop. Daddy is hungry and the pineapple doesn’t slice itself.”
What can James say, he craves Hawaii today.
“Most vile, revolting, disgusting, heinous—
“Oh, that one’s new.”
“—horrendous, appalling person on earth.”
They place their order, which they’re told takes 20 minutes so they decide to head over into the little grocery store because Regulus craves fruit suddenly and James could do with something cold to drink anyways.
Regulus bullies James into buying a whole pint of blueberries,
“You’re going to get a stomach ache.”
“No, I won’t. I know what I’m doing, Potter.”
“Yeah, ’cause you know so well what your body can and can’t take, don’t yo— Ouch! Fuck, Reg, that was hard. Heh, apropos hard, when you were bent down at that shelf earlier—”
“Don’t fucking test me, James.”
and James retaliates by digging his refridged beverage chilled fingers into Regulus’ slightly sunburnt shoulders just when they exit the store.
He makes a high-pitched yelping noise and dances out of James’ reach only to hiss and jump right back into the shade of the building, grappling at James’ arm, “Shit, fuck, the pavement’s hot.”
James, because he can, walks right past him to the little bench on the other side of the sidewalk with a shiteating grin. Plops down and throws a blueberry in the air before catching it in his mouth.
Regulus scowls at him and waits for an old lady to pass between them before he throws up a middle finger.
James throws his head back with a cackle and then stands back up and walks over to Regulus.
Before this one can even get a hint of what James is about to do he quickly closes the last step between them, bends down and throws Regulus over his shoulder without preamble.
“James,” he cries out, “Put me down— Are you insane? James—”
“Quiet back there,” James demands playfully with a quick slap on Regulus’ ass. He does, much to his credit, albeit the broken choking noise.
James dutifully sets him down on the bench, not quite able to help the warm feeling pooling in his chest at Regulus’ flushed and disheveled state. Cocks his head to the side with a grin and wonders if you can get that much blood into your cheeks from hanging upside down for barely five seconds.
Predictably, Regulus hits him again but James is so gleeful it doesn’t even hurt.
They wait a few more minutes for their pizza to get ready, sharing another smoke in peaceful silence before they’re called inside.
When they step back outside, Regulus regards the sidewalk warily.
James ends up giving him a piggy-pack ride on the walk back home.
It’s a bit much, honestly.
Regulus’ lean, naked chest pressed against James’ equally nude back. The way he can hear the other boy munch and suck and lick the blueberries from between his fingers. The way his limbs cling to James’ body tightly.
Regulus only extracts himself from James once they’re past the gate, demanding for him to go ahead and check if Sirius and Remus are done lest the images burn themselves into Regulus’ retinas forever and continue to haunt him in his nightmares for as long as he lives.
They are not done yet.
James involuntarily gets a good glimpse at Remus’ pale ass and Sirius’ hairy shins crossed around it.
He'd thought it was an All Clear since he didn’t hear any debauched noises. Turns out Remus was just busy mouthing at Sirius’ chest with his hand wrapped around this one’s throat.
Yup, James is definitely gonna have some weird, vivid dreams for the unforeseeable future.
Regulus tucks his lips in when James comes back shaking his head.
They spread themselves out on the curb, legs stretched out and pizza boxes in their laps.
Regulus snatches James’ drink halfway through their meal and James confiscates the blueberries when Regulus keeps snacking on them.

This is such a vague question but how did you do it? I'm assuming therapy helped a lot but like. Idk did you have to unpack all of the trauma or like. Idk. It sounds like a whole lot of effort and honestly congrats. I'm just curious how you managed to achieve it
Yes thank you so much for the question!
So I started EMDR therapy in April 2022, which is a type of therapy that helps process and desensitize trauma memories, and negative beliefs held due to trauma. You don't need an exact clear image/memory of the trauma for this to work, and in my experience it worked really well for my complex/ongoing traumas (ex. neglect and long term bullying) as well as for our "one time incident" more PTSD-like traumas.
shortly after beginning EMDR, a lot of our DID symptoms began to fluctuate, some weeks they were really bad, some they were noticeably much better. this is because EMDR doesn't only happen during sessions- your brain actually continues the reprocessing being the scenes in the background, which can cause extra stress in the meantime! but the end result is worth it.
of course, EMDR comes with a lot of safety measures and checking in before starting the therapy to make sure you are safe, and have a plan if things get to be too much.
I'd say maybe a few months in, we had a big even we dubbed "the fusening" in which many of our fragments "gave up" their form as they no longer felt it necessary to stay separate. some "larger" and more dominant parts fused at this time too, some 1:1 with another part, and others just seemed to dissipate.
I'd say by 4-5 months in we'd gone from over 90 identified parts down to a nebulous 30-50. We were also nearly (80% of the time?) always blurry, so it was hard to identify who was left.
we also identified some new parts at this time, who had been dormant and stuck behind a layer that previously was not able to contact us before processing trauma.
we stuck around 10-20 parts for a whole, working our way through traumasostly chronologically, and hit some big targets. it was hard and exhausting work, and left me on edge almost 24/7. but I could tell despite the exhaustion, I was getting better. I was still getting amnesia, but switches and headaches were much less noticeable, we were no longer finding new parts or splitting new parts, and it felt like I had the control to find healthy coping mechanisms on my own with out my brain trying to cope for me (by splitting).
these past few months I've actually been on a break from EMDR- my therapist noticed my avoidant behaviours to dealing with a lot of the trauma I faced from my parents, and I have a big school exam coming up. so we left it for the summer, to reconvene in October after my exam.
at that point I'd had about three alters left, two nearly identical, the current host and a similar alter, and in the process of trying to meld, and one of the earliest alters and most developed, and distinct we'd had.
in the meantime, I started regular talk therapy with a new therapist, less intense but to hopefully get some help with non trauma processing based issues, maybe try to grapple some of the parental issues without trauma targets.
We focused a lot on identity, as, despite having over 90 at one point, I felt completely lost! I didnt know who I was, what I wanted, and who I could be if I let myself. I was trying my best to "go along with the flow", but I didn't realize that didn't mean I had to like *everything*, even if I was open to new experiences!
I learned how to be on my own and still have fun in the absence of other people. I started broadening my horizons and going to local punk shows and learning it was okay to not be mainstream and still be safe! I came out to more people about my gender identity and started the process to transition medically, and started being more open socially about being gender non conforming. I learned I really, really, hate cooking, and that's okay.
about a few weeks ago, I had a falling out with my parents. I won't go into detail because I don't think it's relevant, but I decided our relationship wasn't healthy, and I cut them off for good. I'd previously done this two years ago as well, but we reconciled and tried to make it work. but this time, it was clear the only person that was interested in changing to make things work was me, and after finally getting a taste of figuring out who I could be, I was done sacrificing myself for the sake of making them happy.
stem, the last part to fuse with beau, held pretty much all the resentment for sacrificing ourself and not getting to be ourself. she held all the bitterness, the teenage and adulthood angst, all the rage. she'd been very stubborn about it all. to the point where beau as the host (this is getting confusing to type- I'm both sten and beau now. I'm one. but I'm trying to talk from beaus perspective about stem), had finally said "look. I know we wanted final fusion. but I'm okay if you want to stay stem and we'd changed our minds. we don't have to final fuse to still be an advocate for compassion towards those who choose final fusion, and we're not betraying ourselves or anyone else if we stay separate."
stem said "thank you" to this, which was the first time she'd shown any genuine positive emotion towards beau or the rest of the system. (she was a persecutor at one point, turned to no role/sort of protector ish role).
beau was shocked, as he never thought stem would let go of the bitterness she'd held to the rest of the system, the fact that she'd gone dormant and lost the host role at one point, and many other traumas.
there was genuine understanding and compassion towards each other as individual parts.
that night, stem was around and feeling list and hopeless about the reason we'd cut off our parents again. we vented to our friends, they listened, validated our feelings and... we felt better. the feelings laid to rest a little, though the grief was still fresh.
we left the conversation, and noticed we had a headache+foggy feeling we usually associated with a split. we commented to a friend we may be splitting, which hadn't happened in a while, but was understandable with the stress we were dealing with
except. it wasn't a split. we fused. stem was heard by herself and her system, and validated and respected by her friends. despite losing her adoptive family (not blood- we were adopted at birth), stem had found acceptance and love from our new chosen family and friends. that was enough to let go of the hate and bitterness and rage and let herself be one with the full range of emotions and personhood final fusing could give us in this way. I also use Stem as a preferred name in addition to Beau now, which I feel is fitting. I'm them, they are both a part of me even though we're all one now.
I hope this answered your question! one other thing to note, through a lot of hard work and cooperation, we were previously able to fuse a fragment and an alter together before any therapy, with a lot of help from those who'd already experienced fusion. it's not impossible to fuse some alters on your own. (though I would say it would be very unlikely to final fuse without outside help)

Fic Writer’s 20 Questions!
Thank you so much @whatwouldvalerydo for tagging me in this game - the original post was getting very long so I thought I would post separately.
How many works do you have on A03?
18!
What’s your total A03 word count?
789,856
What fandoms do you write for?
Harry Potter, including spin offs
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
The first five Hexley Saga stories, though not in order. In descending order it goes: Mystery, Portrait, Figures, Forest, Staircase.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do, because I appreciate every comment I receive. I am slow to respond, because I don’t always see them when it’s convenient to reply, and then I forget what I have or haven’t replied to. I’m very disorganised.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I’m not sure if any have truly angsty endings, I tend to like my angst mixed with happiness and humour for something bittersweet. In that vein, maybe Into the Light of the Dark Black Night. However, The Wilderness Years ends on an open and not overly optimistic note.
What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Again, not many have a wholly happy ending… Probably the Hexley Saga, though there is a touch of sadness even to that.
Do you get hate on fics?
I haven’t done, no. I’ve had readers (understandably) drop out after one specific character death, but no actual hate for it. I guess there’s a first time for everything.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I have done, once or twice. I’m not good at it. As for what type… Bad smut? Awkward smut? Idk, I’m just too British for this.
Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
… I’m not even 100% sure what this is so I’m going to say no.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
A touchy subject. No, I haven’t, but I have had and occasionally continue to have issues with aspects of my stories being taken and put into others’ works in ways that have made it obvious that it isn’t a coincidence, but not in ways that I have felt justified in reporting plagiarism on any publishing sites. I have, however, learnt how the Tumblr block button can come in handy.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No. When in France this spring I considered translating the Hexley Saga into French to help me get my language skills back up but I quickly realised how much work this would be and decided against it.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes - When Stars Ignite was (and still is) a collaboration between me and @lifeofkaze. It was (and still is) an amazing experience and massive learning curve.
What’s your all time favorite ship?
Forever Gomez and Morticia Addams.
What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Whichever one I’m currently writing - I get to the point in every long form story that I think I’ll never finish it. So far, I’ve proved myself wrong.
What are your writing strengths?
Generally: I’m dedicated and very deliberate in my approach. For every single choice I make in my writing, I have a rationality behind it. There is a lot of method in my madness. Also, when I get the wind in my sails, I’m speedy.
Technically: characterisation, humour, emotionality, dialogue.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Generally: good old impostor syndrome and being an incredibly disorganised person.
Technically: action scenes, angst, smut.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Ahh, this is awkward. I actually… am not a massive fan of this. Before you call me a hypocrite (which is a fair criticism here), I think foreign language dialogue is great when it works, but when it’s not done right, it’s completely alienating for a reader and can ruin the story. And it’s hard to get right. So, although I do use it, I don’t enjoy using it, because involves so much work and causes so much anxiety.
My rule when I do use it is that it has to add an extra layer of meaning and enjoyment for people who do understand it or want to look up the translation without taking away from the meaning and enjoyment of people who don’t. I have broken this rule once, because sometimes it’s fun to break the rules, and because I wanted to alienate my readers. I’m actually really proud of the effect it created, so here is a link to this rule-breaking.
First fandom you wrote for?
Jill Murphy’s The Worst Witch, circa 2001.
Favorite fic you’ve written?
That’s a mean question. The answer is probably On This Wild Night, but that one isn’t published yet, so I’m going to choose a few. Figures in the Shadows, because it was the first one where I first felt like my style came naturally to me, Eggshells because it was the first one created in a moment of inspiration, When Stars Ignite because of the friendship that was strengthened in the writing process, Learning to Fly because Charlie Weasley, and Return to the Riddles, because finishing the Hexley Saga was such an achievement and the culmination of two years of hard work that I really hope paid off.

Strange Love Chapter Eleven
Tumblr media
AN: Two chapters in one week? WHO IS SHE? She's highly motivated :D So i created a D&D character for this chapter and her name is pronounced like Agnes and Anita blended. Her tribe is the same tribe that Galadriel of LotR belongs to cause I'm a nerd. This chapter was so much fun to write because I love playing Dungeons and Dragons and getting to basically DM a chapter of my own was super thrilling and super stressful. I apologize in advance if it's bad or not well done but I hope you all like it. This chapter is dedicated to @mvnsoneddie86 for asking so kindly to see a D&D chapter so I hope I delivered. Please let me know if you like the series and if you'd like to be added to (or removed from) the taglist ;)
Your DND Cheat Sheet:
*DM stands for Dungeon Master
*Initiative basically means the order of who fights in what order and when it's on your character sheet, it gives you an advantage to add to your roll.
Word Count: 5443
October 20, 1985
It was a perfect autumn day : rainy enough that it created a perfect background noise, cool enough you needed a few extra layers. Classes were easy and lazy since it felt like everyone was falling into their seasonal slump, especially with the away football game being postponed due to inclimate weather. You, however, were on cloud nine while eating your lunch at your usual table but this time you were by yourself since Ali and Robin were working on their debate notes over women’s rights in the workplace. You were reading a Jackie Collins novel while listening to Prince’s Purple Rain album, minding your own business when you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned to the direction of the source and saw two welcome faces: Mike Wheeler and Dustin Henderson in a pair of matching Hellfire Club shirts. Dustin lived a few houses down from you ever since you moved to Hawkins so you would babysit the boys often over the years and had helped them with missions that may or may not have involved interdimensional monsters so needless to say, you would do anything for the little shits. Judging by the looks on their faces, they needed something. You paused Prince and removed your headphones.
“Hi boys, how are things?” you ask.
“Things are great,” Mike said quickly.
“Mike, stop lying. Shit’s horrible Y/N; we need your help. Lucas can’t come to Hellfire tonight because of some family obligation thing so we’re totally screwed and we’ve been asking everyone–”
“Not everyone Dustin,” Mike interrupted.
“Yeah we have! The geeks, the jocks, the drama kids, the band nerds, hell you even asked Nancy,” Dustin nearly yelled.
“Dustin, volume!” you say loudly in your Mom voice. He ducked his head at the sound of your tone.
“Sorry, it’s just we’re desperate and you played with us a few summers ago so I thought maybe you could help us out this once,” Dustin said. You pondered their ask heavily. You had played a couple of campaigns with them when Mike and Will would DM and you did pretty well. The kids would be more than happy to explain anything you didn’t understand and would be your biggest cheerleader when you did well with your rolling. But the thing is Eddie. You hadn’t told him you played yet and were keeping it closer to the chest for some reason but what better opportunity?
“Alright I’ll do it but I’ll have to run home to find my character sheets first thing after school,” you warn, “You also cannot tell Eddie that it’s me.”
“Yes! Agneta of Lothlorien is back!” Mike yelled.
“Thank God! You’re really saving our asses from getting chewed out by Eddie again,” Dustin said.
“Anytime boys. Just tell him you guys have the substitute handled and leave it at that. Now can I return to my lunch since I won’t get a real break today?” you ask sweetly.
“Yeah of course. See you later this afternoon Y/N!” Dustin yelled as they walked away triumphantly to the Hellfire table across the cafeteria. You returned your headphones over your head and pressed play on the cassette player, enjoying the rest of your pizza in peace. The bell rang once you got to the beginning of Darling Nikki so you paused it again, gathered your stuff and headed to your locker. You got to your locker and spun in your combination, a note immediately falling out of it when you opened it. You looked around to find the culprit but were unsuccessful so you opened it.
Wanna ditch 6th period and get stoned? Meet me in the woods after  ^Eddie^
You laughed at his little demon drawing and made a change of plans as you grabbed your camera and put away all your books. You closed your locker and went to fifth period with your mind going all around Eddie. When the bell rang to release you to sixth period, you made a beeline to get out of there. You were giddy and excited to see your best friend/crush for the first time that day. You made a quick stop at your locker to grab your Walkman and put away your bag before closing it and making your way towards the football field, Darling Nikki playing through the headphones. The rain had stopped but the skies were still perfectly dreary. It took the entire song to get to your secret spot: an abandoned picnic bench in the middle of the woods behind Hawkins High. You got closer and could tell Eddie was there already by the smell of the burning marijuana coming from the area you were walking towards. You laughed to yourself at the thought of him sitting there getting impatient waiting on you. You caught sight of Eddie dancing around the bench with the joint in his mouth and he looked so hot in his Hellfire shirt like a leader of his pack, maybe a Danny Zuko in another universe or time period. You made your way to the opening and a twig snap alerted Eddie to your arrival. He looked up surprised but his body language softened at the sight of you.
“Hey Y/N. How was class?” Eddie asked as you walked up and put your camera and Walkman on the table of the bench.
“Class was alright. I was able to cruise through thanks to the weather so thankfully it’s been an easy day. How’s your day going?” you ask.
“It’s going alright. I decided to skip shop class earlier to work on the campaign a little more,” Eddie admitted.
“Oh yeah it’s Hellfire Night. So what’s on the agenda for tonight?” you ask innocently.
“The boys are gonna be fighting a pack of kobolds tonight if they can pull through with this goddamn substitute,” Eddie said frustratedly as he took another hit off his joint. It took everything in you not to laugh or blurt something out about tonight.
“”Oh, have some faith in them; they always pull through,” you offer.
“You’re probably right. I just hate playing a player short,” Eddie admitted as he passed you the joint.
“Would it help if I promised that things will work out in the end?” you ask as you take a hit off the joint.
“A little yeah because I know you won’t lie to me,” Eddie said.
“That’s absolutely right,” you say as you exhale your hit and take another before passing it.
“So they’re currently at this village called Makbar and they have to find a pack of kobolds who moved into a local cave and need to be evacuated,” Eddie explained as he took a hit.
“So they need to fight the pack in order to move on to the next quest,” you state, following what he’s saying.
“Exactly.” he says. Easy Peasy, you thought to yourself.
“Sounds fun. Maybe I’ll guest someday once I learn more about it,” you say.
“You can ask me anything and I’ll help you out along the way. There are no stupid questions in this game,” he says as he passes you the joint.
“I’ll keep that in mind. So your job is just to keep game play going on and play for the bad guys?” you ask as you hit the joint.
“Yeah pretty much. This one time, I wrote a plotline that was more complex than I originally intended and I ended up having to play out 3 bad guys and like a few dozen goons on top of wrangling the group. It was hectic and exhausting.” Eddie said with a laugh. You were hung on every word he said and the more he talked about his hobby, the more mesmerized you were by the boy.
“So what are your plans for tonight since I know tonight is your self care night or whatever,” Eddie said as he watched you inhale.
“Probably just do my nails and hang out with Norm. Maybe I’ll finish the book I was reading at lunch,: you say thoughtfully.
“Sounds like a very You night. Could I stop by after Hellfire to smoke you up?” Eddie asks.
“Sure I’d love that Eddie,” you say as you finish the joint.
“I’ll be there by around 9:30.” Eddie said.
“So what time does Hellfire Club usually start? I never see you immediately after O’Donnell’s on Fridays so is it like immediately after school or do you just go set up first?” you ask curiously.
“We usually start around 3:30 or 4,” Eddie says “I usually take awhile to set up so it depends on the day.”
You smile at him. “So are you feeling better about tonight?” you ask.
“A little, yeah thank you. It felt like I was being anxious about nothing and when I get anxious, I get a little fidgety and angry,” he states.
“And that’s okay. Everyone’s response to stress is always different. Mine is to shut down and hide so I can cry and disassociate,” you say as he laughs.
“Thanks for the warning,” he says.
“You’re welcome. Alright Eddie, if I’m gonna be ditching class, I think I’m gonna beat the traffic and head home. I gotta run Norm and I was gonna try to clean the house for when Mom gets home,” you say as you get up and walk over to him.
“Okay Y/N sounds like a plan. I’ll be over after D&D,” he says, offering his open arms for a hug which you gladly accept. You wrap your arms around his back and he immediately pulls you as close as possible. You take a deep breath, relaxing in the embrace. He always feels so safe.
“Tonight is gonna be okay, Eds. Don’t stress yourself out over it. It’ll all work out,” you say as you pull away enough to look in his eyes.
“You’re sure?” Eddie asks, his eyes revealing a small amount of anxiety.
“Positive. Pinky promise?” you say offering your ringed left pinky as he takes it in his right pinky.
“Alright now get outta here. Norm is waiting on you,” Eddie said, letting go of you. You smiled at him and let go of him to go grab your camera.
“Hey do The Thing!” you say as you hold your camera up to take his photo. He flicks his tongue out of his mouth and makes Devil’s horn with his hands. You snap the photo with a wide smile and lower the camera, getting your Walkman ready.
“I’lll see you tonight Y/N” Eddie yelled before you put on your headphones, the sounds of When Doves Cry starting as you walked away.
“Sooner than you think,” you muttered to yourself as you continued down the path towards the exit. You get out of the forest and immediately start towards your car at a quick pace. You had a lot to do in a short amount of time. It took mere minutes to get to the library entrance where you parked at and unlocked your car, getting in. You take off your headphones and pause the album. You start the car and are flooded with the sounds of a-Ha’s Take on Me. You smiled and reversed out of the parking spot and took off towards home. As you drove, you drummed along to the song having absolutely no worries.
“Take on meeeee, take meeeee onnnn. I’lllll beeee gooonee in a day or twooooooo” you sang as you made it towards your house. You were a little nervous to play again after so long but you were more focused on the look on Eddie’s face when he sees you’re the sub. Would he be mad? Would he play it cool? Would he be happy? Would he be excited? Your mind raced with possible scenarios as you finished the drive home. Once there, you parked and sprinted to the door, unlocking it. The happy boy Norm was excited to see you as he raced up the stairs with you, hopping on your bed.
“Sorry boy, no walk today. I’ve gotta do stuff,” you say as you go to the bookshelf, looking for your purple folder. You grab it and double check the contents, satisfied to have your character sheets in it. You put it on the desk and change into a pair of acid wash jeans with rips in the knees, a Van Halen shirt and your favorite Vans. You grab a hair tie, your folder and a pencil before heading back down the stairs. You double check Norm’s food, which is still half full, so you decide to leave it and replenish it when you get home. You go to the door and grab your keys again, leaving as quickly as you arrived.
When you arrived back at the school, everyone was leaving or already gone so you parked in your usual library spot and shut off the car. It was still a gloomy day outside so you guessed that everyone was heading out to whatever party was tonight. You got out of your car and saw Mike and Dustin waiting out front for you. You smiled at them as you walked up.
“Hey guys. Are you ready for this?” you ask.
“Hell yeah! Thanks for doing this Y/N. You’re really saving us from Eddie’s wrath,” Dustin says.
“Oh it can’t be that bad Dustybuns.” you say.
“No he’s right Eddie would have been pissed at us if you hadn't said yes,” Mike agreed.
“Well it’s not like I was doing anything tonight so I’m more than happy to help. Shall we?” you ask as they nod and lead the way towards the drama storage room. You were still nervous but it was more of an anxious nervous. When you walked down the hall, you had a sudden wave of confident wash over you and you started to strut a bit. Why were you scared about your best friend finding out something about you? If anything, it would make you closer. You could hear Eddie laughing with some of the group already. You opened the doors for them to go first.
“Wheeler! Henderson! I see you’re brave enough to show your faces. You better have delivered on a sub,” Eddie said in a dramatized deep voice.
“Oh we have a sub alright,” Dustin said as you walked in behind them. The doors closed behind you as the group looked at you, shocked.
“Guys this is our old friend–”
“Y/N!” The guys said in unison at the same time.
“Hey guys. Nice to see you all again,” you say with a smile.
“This is the sub?” Eddie said, still shocked to see you.
“Yep. She played a few campaigns with us over the years. We vouch for her.” Mike said. You smiled at the boys as it warmed your heart to hear them fighting for you. You look from them to Eddie and he looked so different from the Eddie you had seen mere hours ago. This Eddie was looking at you like you were another person. The look he was giving you was a mix of arousal, impression and contemplation. Being under his gaze causes you to bite your lip.
“So what’s your class traitor? Level one human with a bard background?” Eddie joked as his friend laughed, appeasing their Dungeon Master.
“Actually, Edward, my name is Agneta of Lothlorien. I’m a level 15 Half-Elf Cleric. I’m a healer but don’t you dare underestimate me again or I’ll fuck you up with my poisoned daggers,” you say in a stern voice causing them to stop laughing and look at you in shock as Eddie left his throne and walked towards you. You stayed in your spot, holding your ground as he got to you with a sexy smirk.
“So is that why you were so interested in the campaign earlier,” Eddie whispered, just loud enough for you two to hear.
“No, Eddie. I care about you and your interests, you ass. Plus maybe I wanted to see one of your cute little campaigns Eds,” you say with a wink and a bite of your lip. You could see Eddie’s demeanor change: he’s challenged and he’s turned out, quite the deadly combination for a Dungeon Master. He offers his hand with that same damn smirk.
“Welcome to Hellfire Club” he said with a wicked smile and you took his hand, shaking it before dropping it and going to the empty seat between Mike and Dustin. Eddie took his seat in his throne and got right into it. He summed up the adventure the boys had last time and you had met them in a tavern, offering them services to help the town of Makbar. They accept your help and you six head into a forest where all of a sudden, the pack of kobolds spots you closing in on their cave.
“So we have to kill them in order to complete our quest” Dustin says to you while Gareth is taking his turn.
“Sounds good. Any idea of a plan?” you ask
“Not a single clue,” Dustin says.
“ROLL INITIATIVE!” Eddie yelled as you all groaned in unison, some swearing as they grab their D20s and roll.
“14” Gareth says.
“19” Grant said.
“12” Jeff seid.
“16” Mike sighed.
“11” Dustin yelled “Son of a bitch”
“8” you say with a laugh. Of course THIS is where the dice would betray me, you think to yourself.
“That’s good though because we can all fight then on your turn, give us all the heals,” Mike said to you as Eddie rolled for the monsters. You took a look at Eddie and enjoyed seeing him focused on one of his favorite things. He almost had a dark glow to him.
“Alright, Grant you first. What are you gonna do?” Eddie asks.
“I’m gonna use my 30ft of movement and run as fast as I can towards the kobolds with my sword drawn,” Grant says. By the time it was your turn, everyone had taken 10 of Armor damage and a few extra hits.
“So Agneta, it’s your turn. What would you like to do m’lady?” Eddie asked, relaxing in his throne as he watched you go through your spells.
“I’m gonna cast Heal at level four and give everyone some energy” you say.
“You’re not gonna attack?” Eddie asks.
“Oh I can Dungeon Master? I thought it was one thing per action,” you say.
“I’ll let you get a swing in,” Eddie offered.
“Alright, how close is the nearest one to me?” You ask, standing as you analyze the board.
“Bout 25 feet,” Eddie says.
“I’ll loose 3 arrows at it,” you say as you start to roll out your attacks “That’s a Nat 20, a–”
“Don’t forget your modifier!” Dustin whispered.
“That’s a 22, an 18 and an 8” you say confidently.
“The 22 and the 18 hit so roll your damage.” Eddie says, writing down numbers behind his screen.
“That’ll be 10 damage” you say.
“Nicely done Agneta!” Dustin says.
The game went on like this for hours, you healing them as the battle wore on and getting a few hits in. It got down to the last kobold and you had taken out one of its wings thanks to a well shot arrow so it couldn’t fly away. Everyone was getting their hits in and you were doing your best to heal.
“Y/N take a Wisdom saving throw” Eddie says.
“Why?” you ask confused.
“Because the monster's attention turned towards you,” you roll an 18 and add your wisdom modifier.
“21,” you announce.
“You’re safe for now. But what are you gonna do since it is your turn?” Eddie asks.
“I’m gonna run a blade through the fucker’s head,” you say as they all cackle; Eddie’s more sadistic. You roll the dice and watch as it rolls across the board, gaining momentum. You all watch as it finally lands, a 20 facing up.
“CRIT HIT!” you yell.
“Holy shit she did it!” Gareth yelled.
“We did it!” Mike yelled, hugging Dustin.
“QUIET! M’lady how would you like to kill it?” Eddie asks as the cheering ends and all eyes are on you.
“If I may, I’d like to borrow Gareth the Great’s longsword and kill it that way?” you ask, looking between Eddie and Gareth.
“Oh go for it,” Gareth said.
“Alright so Agneta of Lothlorien walks up to Gareth the Great, grabbing his offered longsword and runs up to the remaining creature , like a Valkyrie leaping into battle with a mighty roar, she drives the sword into the kobolds head, this clearing out the cave to completion. Because of your party’s bravery, she offers you solace for the night at the King’s Castle for he will have a mission for you on the next session,” Eddie concludes with a clap as everyone congratulates each other and chats excitedly.
“Thanks Y/N! You were really awesome tonight!” Mike said as he patted your shoulder, too cool to hug you in front of his new older friends.
“You’re welcome. I honestly forgot how fun it was so thanks for asking me. Do either of you need a ride home since I’m feeling generous?” you ask as you pack up your papers.
“Only if we get those diner fries we used to get when you’d babysit,” Dustin counters.
“Okay fine. I could go for some fries after a long night’s battle,” you say as they cheer.
“Hey Y/N. Come here for a second?” Eddie asks as his friends clear out.
“Go ahead and start the car. Just start it; I swear to God if you so much as move it an inch, I’m borrowing Gareth’s sword and slaying you next,” you threaten as you give Dustin the keys and they nod, running out of the room quickly.
“You did great tonight Y/N. I had no idea you played,” Eddie said as you walked towards him.
“It was only a few campaigns but I guess I did play enough to get to level 15 so…” you say with a laugh.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Eddie asked.
“I wanted to surprise you and I was gonna tell you eventually but then the boys asked me at lunch to sub and I knew if they didn’t get one, you’d be stuck one man down so I offered my services. Besides, it was the best Friday night I’ve had in a while,” you say.
“Yeah? Are you thinking about joining my club?” Eddie asked excitedly.
“Only if you make me one of those cool Hellfire shirts,” you counter.
“Deal. Now get out of here; you’ve got children waiting for you.” Eddie says
“No, let me help you clean up as a thank you for letting me play tonight,” you say as you start to put the miniatures in a box.
“Five minutes then you gotta take the kids home,” Eddie says sternly. You nod in agreement as you work in a comfortable conversation, gushing about the campaign.
“For the record, I wasn’t going easy on you. I treat all players the same,” Eddie says.
“Thank you Eddie, I really do appreciate that,” you say genuinely.
“Here, this is good enough for a clean up job. Let’s get out of here,” Eddie said, grabbing his DM stuff and putting it in a black backpack with one strap broken.
“If you say so. Are you still coming over after I drop the kids off?” you ask.
“Of course,” Eddie said as he picked up his backpack.
“Give me like 30 minutes to get home since I promised them food and Mike lives further from me than Dustin does.” you note.
“Alright Princess, sounds good: Eddie says before laughing.
“What’s so funny?” you ask
“My princess slayed a dragon tonight. You see the irony right?” Eddie asked as you walked down the halls and you couldn’t fight the smile on your face when he said My Princess. Like you were his for a moment. You wanted to live in that moment forever.
“Hmm…I guess I did, didn't I? You say coyly as you walk outside. You didn’t see any cars out there except your car and Eddie’s van a ways away. But you could hear the boys jamming out in your car to Starship and you laughed.
“They’re good kids,” Eddie says watching them jam out in your car as you got closer.
“Yeah they really are,” you say, “They’re little shits but they try to do the right things and that’s what really matters.”
“That checks out,” Eddie says as you get to the tail end of your car.
“So I'll see you soon. Please drive safely.” Eddie says as he grabs your hand.
“Always especially with Wheeler’s back seat driving,” you say, squeezing his hand.
“I’ll be at your house as soon as I run this stuff to my trailer,” Eddie says as he hugs you goodbye. It felt just like it did earlier that day and you welcomed the sensation again. You hugged for a bit before pulling away and going to the car door, opening it and receiving wolf whistles in exchange from the children.
“Shut it!” you yell in the car as you wave bye to Eddie, who laughed and returned your wave as he headed to his van. You closed the door and looked over, seeing the boys already staring at you.
“What?” you ask.
“What’s up with you and Eddie?” Mike asks, looking at you weird.
“What do you mean? We’re–”
“Nope. Don’t say friends because I’ve seen Eddie with friends and that’s not it,” Dustin says.
“He’s my best friend guys. So what if we hug and hold hands? He helped me through a really rough patch this month and he wanted to hang out tonight anyways,” you say.
“How often do you hang out?” Dustin asks.
“Like every other day when he’s not at Hellfire or Corroded Coffin practice.” you say.
“Face it Y/N: he’s into you,” Mike said from the back seat as you reversed and pulled forward, starting towards the Daylight Diner.
“He’s not,” you say.
“Do you not like him cause it’s obvious you do. He’s over every other day by the way,” Dustin announces to Mike in the back. You look over at him sternly. “I have eyes Y/N and I know what his van looks like. Guys don’t just spend all their time with a girl unless they are into them,” Dustin says.
“Then what do I do, oh wise ones?” you sass as the song changes to one you don’t know.
“Ask him out. Tell him how you feel,” Dustin says.
“Anything so we all don’t have to suffer through whatever is going on here,,” Mike said.
“Okay do we not remember how you ditched everyone for El last summer or–” you say as Dustin laughs loudly.
“BUSTED!” He says.
“That’s–”
“Different? No it’s not. It took you two years to admit you liked her so you don’t get to talk anymore bud,” you say with a laugh. You put in your tape to kill the awkward silence, the sound of the Ramones filling the car. You sang along to Blitzkrieg Bop with the boys and it changed to a more poppy punk song.
“Hey little girl I wanna be your boyfriend, sweet little girl I wanna be your boyfriend. Do you love me babe? What do you say? Do you love me babe? What can I say?” you sang as you pulled up to the diner. You parked and all got out. You opened the diner door for them and headed straight for the diner.
“Hi sweeties. What can I get for you?” the waitress asked.
“Can I get 4 orders of fries and 3 cokes?” you say, fishing out some money and handing it to her. “No change, the rest is yours.”
“Thank you honey. I should have that in a few minutes,” the waitress said as she walked away.
“So what do we do if we find out Eddie does like you?” Dustin asks.
“Then you keep it to yourself. We’re big kids who can figure it out on our own.” you say,
“Yeah that’s not gonna happen,” Mike said.
“Which part?” you ask.
“The ‘You’ll Figure it out on your own’ part. You saw what happened with Steve and Ali” Mike said.
“Okay that’s true but how would I go about doing that? Girls don’t ask out guys.” you say.
“Write him a letter telling him how you feel.” Dustin recommends. You look at him for a moment before the waitress returns with your food. You grabbed it and got up.
“I’ll figure it out guys I promise. Now let’s get you home so I can finally relax.” you say.
“And see Eddieeeeee,” the boys tease as they run to try and get shotgun.
By the time you got home, Eddie hadn’t arrived yet so you changed into a pair of pajama pants and put your hair up out of your face. Soon enough, you heard a van pull up outside playing loud rock music, signaling Eddie’s arrival. You had left the door unlocked so moments later, you heard it open and close, Norm barking once or twice in excitement.
“Hey buddy. Where’s your mama?” Eddie asked as he pet the dog.
“I’m upstairs, come on up.” you yell from your room opening the window to help air out the room from the incense and the smoking you were about to do. You heard Eddie bounding up the stairs.
“Hey you! Get the kids home safe?” he asked as he entered the room, sitting on the bed.
“Yep. We stopped at the diner so one of those fries is yours actually,” you offer as you light the candles.
“I will inhale those after I roll these joints,” Eddie says as he grabs the book from your nightstand and his black lunch pail.
“So what’s the plan for Halloween next week?” you ask as you walk over to the bed.
“I was gonna stop by the parties and try to make a little extra cash then see what you were doing.”” Eddie says, grabbing his weed and papers.
“I was gonna dress up and maybe see what Ali and Robin were gonna do. Probably best if I avoid parties for now.” you admit.
“A wise decision. Wanna have a movie night?” Eddie offers.
“Only if we get to watch Rocky Horror Picture Show. I’ll let you rent whatever bullshit horror movie you want but you’re watching it with me,” you say.
“Okay deal.” Eddie says as he’s rolling the first joint. You wait for him to finish both joints as he hands you one of them and puts the other one in his mouth. You offer him a lighter after lighting yours, inhaling a decent sized hit. He lights his and inhales, holding it for a moment as you both exhale.
“What are you gonna dress up as?” Eddie asks.
“I’m gonna be Columbia from Rocky Horror. The redhead in the shorts from the movie.” you say with a smile. “What are you gonna be?”
“It’s a surprise, '' Eddie said with a wicked smile.
“Okay I won’t ask any more questions,” you laugh.
“Good because I won’t answer them,” Eddie said, taking a hit.
“Did you hear about Metallica coming to Indianapolis in January,” you ask excitedly.
“What? NO! Are you trying to go?” Eddie asked excitedly.
“Oh absolutely. I’ve already started to save for a pair of tickets for us,” you say.
“I can pay my way Y/N. Don’t worry about me,” he says, patting your thigh but leaving his hand there.
“Okay well we better buy them before Thanksgiving,” you note as you take a hit.
“We will don’t worry!” Eddie says. You enjoy the moment of silence while you two smoke your joints just relishing in each other’s company. It was one of the rare relaxing moments in both of your lives and you both looked forward to it. You finished your joints and put them in the ashtray by your bed.
“I should get outta here. I gotta be up early so I can cook Wayne breakfast tomorrow morning since he’s been working a lot lately,” Eddie said, getting up off the bed.
“Let me walk you out so I can lock the front door behind you,” you said, getting up as well, “That’s really sweet that you’re cooking for your uncle. I should probably do the same thing tomorrow since he’s coming over tomorrow.”
“Yeah? What are you guys getting up to tomorrow?” Eddie asks as he walks down the stairs.
“College applications. He’s coming over to help my mom and I weigh options.” you say.
“You sound thrilled,” Eddie says sarcastically.
“Don’t I?” you say equally as sarcastic as you open the door.
“See you on Monday then?” Eddie asked.
“Yeah I’ll see you on Monday Eddie,” you say, hugging him.
“Sleep tight princess,” he says in your ear before pulling away with a smile and closing the door. You lock the door and go back upstairs to lay down, the events of the day running through your head as you fall asleep.

I forgot I finished it.
Fantribe time, because why not. So...
Ashmanes
Tumblr media
Ashmanes is a tribe evolved from common ancestors with MudWings. Separated long before the Scorching due to continental drift. Their home island, Algid, is now located in the Arctic Circle.
Because of bad conditions this tribe became primarily subterranean. They used their wings to support body weight while diggnig. After a while wings evolved into an additional pair of talons. Nostrils are located on the front of a snout and have muscles that open and close them to prevent from inhaling dirt or smoke. Not only their scales remain fire resistant, but they also have an extra layer of thick down, protecting them from both heat and cold. Neck fluff is the longest, often resembles lion manes or thick clouds. Pregnant females (picture) normally grow thicker layer of down on their bellies by 16-18th month.
Newborn dragonet's down is long and soft, has properties of cotton. As it sheds, it can be used to make fireproof yarn. Aspiring designer, Icebreaker, makes dragonet down clothes embroidered with sun silk (flamesilk) produced by his friend Mothflight of an unknown tribe (Silkwing). Humans stuff their clothes with down, but normally use adult fuzz, as it's less expensive.
Can't breathe fire, exhale poisonous (stil easily flammable) vapor instead. It has the same effect as pepper spray and doesn't cause long-term injuries, unless you're allergic.
Ashmanes are much larger than any Pyrrhian tribe, five year old dragonets are just as big as an average adult Mudwing. 15-20 y/o dragons are normally as big as Morrowseer, but they grow very slow after that. They are exceptionally fast runners, can cover large distances without taking a break, even at night. Thanks to their heat isolation they can take rest in the middle of an Arctic desert.
Part of their brain responsible for fear and agression is significantly smaller than in winged dragons, which makes them more social. They are very accepting of firescale refugees making their home on Cold Sun Peaks. They believe that they should not interfere in the ways of evolution and aren't hostile towards dragonets with differences. In the ff, a couple of Ashmane twins, Claybelly and Rippletail reveal their ability of echolocation after Rippletail is blinded by a flock of vulture terns, trying to save a dying MudWing later named Leaffall. Twins wonder if they can be a start of a new evolutionary branch.
Ashmanes as accepting as they are, still have strict rules regarding dragonets and parenthood. Hurting, abandoning or killing dragonets is punished several times more severely that the same crime towards an adult. The same rule applies to pregnant females and Pyrrhian eggs. In the ff a MudWing slave trader named Root is violently shredded by Rippletail, who says that it is more merciful than what the other Ashmanes are going to do with him for trying to abduct Leaffall's sister and daughters. Orca and Scarlet would be resurrected just to have their butts handed to them.
Ashmanes are placental, which means they give birth like most mammals do, instead of laying eggs. Dragonets are born blind and covered in long white fuzz. They shed on their second month of life, getting their adult colors. Ashmanes are normally painted in colors of smoke: black, usually with white or spotted mane, gray with warm or cold hues, or melanistic. Erythristic colors like chocolate brown, cream or red are very rare. Cases of albinism were not recorded, dragonets can keep their white down because of disorders, but scales under them are always colored.
Names are usually chosen after the second month. Ashmane names are very much similar to NightWing names, but instead of personality qualities they describe dragon's appearance. Cottonheart (on the picture) has thick curly mane that resembles cotton, Prince Snowberry kept his white down and looked like he was covered in snow. Crowflight is solid black, Queen Curlymoss has long curly down peeking through her scales, siblings Sunpool, Rippletail and Claybelly have ginger markings that resemble water ripples and dirt splatter. Coalfoot is solid gray except his black feet. When winged dragon joins their community, they can, by choice, have a new traditional name or keep their own.
Dragonets don't necessarily require milk, as they normally eat chewed up or mashed foods, like ground beef and mushroom puree (thought Ashmanes are live bearing, they are not mammals and don't have milk producing glands), but they aren't lactose intolerant and can digest animal or human milk.
Agate mountain collapse and Nightwing Island eruption lead to a devastating earthquakes on Algid, that ruined underground palace, burying alive the entire Royal Family, except for a newborn prince, who got trapped in a small chamber with unnamed pet scavenger. She recently lost a baby and saved prince by nursing him for several days. She later died of dehydration, just before the prince was found. This event led to accepting scavengers as a sentient life and implementing ruler regarding parenthood.
Unlike Mudwings, Ashmanes form families with their children and grandchildren. One family can own a large part of a cave, sometimes one family-owned cave net can stretch up to 4 kilometers and house 20+ residents. Sometimes they join families if one of the couples is unable to have dragonets or if someone they know is having trouble raising babies alone. For example, Claybelly, who has an extra X chromosome and is unable to have offspring, and his wife Micadust, who is also infertile, join Cottonheart after she lost her dragonets' father to an incurable meningitis epidemic. Rippletail and his Metamorph (Silkwing) friend Mothflight, on the other hand, adopt a bunch of orphaned dragonets they took away from Root.
Now, Royal Family doesn't take part in politics and only exists as a part of elite and ancestors of a prince nursed by unnamed Mother. The tribe is ruled by Head Council consisting of five dragons. Every settlement has their own Council department.
Ashmanes can use both front and middle talons to manipulate objects, which lead to significant technological progress. Fifty years before the War of Sandwing Succession, the tribe has entered the industrial era. Ashmanes have several large factories producing rubber, building and insulation materials, steel and machine tools, guns and gunpowder. In 5000's the first power plant powered by a volcano was build. Just after that, another power plant on abandoned Nightwing island started to grow.

Unit Teambuilding - Ball Guy
Hey guys, who do you think the first male NPC character added in will be?  I know some people were counting on Punk.  Maybe the Backpacker from Gen 7 that works with Kiawe?  Maybe Youngster Joey?
No.  It’s Ball Guy.  I hate memes, actually.  And don’t think I don’t see the extra meme layer.  “But he’s a Pokeball guy so-” there are other Pokeball Pokemon, and they gave him the Amoongus on purpose!
General Overview So Ball Guy and Amoongus.  Apparently a Poison support, where his trainer move applies randomized effects, then gives all three of restoring 10% HP from himself, removing all status conditions from the team, and +1 crit for all allies.  The random effects are listed out better on Absol-utely’s page, but it’s a wild drop table of a 75% chance to roll a +1 team buff to a random stat, a 10% chance for either stacks of both moves up next or restoring 20%HP, and a 5% chance for Supereffective Up Next for the team.  He gets two tiles that can potentially boost offenses.  Potentially.  Also random along the core five stats.  Everything this dude does is wildly randomized, to the point of uselessness.  So why is he limited?
Because Clear Smog.  Clear Smog removes all buffs from an opponent.  It’s only 2MP, but he also applies a status to whatever hits him, choosing Poison, Paralysis, or Sleep at random.  When he hits a foe that’s afflicted with status?  Regains 1MP.  So Clear Smog is infinite reuse so long as your foe can be hit with one of these status effects, and his trainer move can be refreshed infinitely as well.  The big question on my mind is, does it allocate intelligently?  Like, Tornadus for example.  If Tornadus hits, is this considered always paralysis, or will it sometimes roll Poison and do nothing?  If the latter, Ball Guy is wildly inconsistent even in his one niche use, and is possibly the least worth it unit ever designed.  If the former, though?  Now we’re talking about potential Gauntlet use.  And his grid has built-in Vigilance, Impervious, and Interference Immunity.  With Status Immunity as a lucky skill, he covers every conceivable base.
Ball Guy is fascinating.  Like, if it were any actual character, I think I’d be in love with a kit like this.  It’s so bizarre and niche, yet has wildly strong coverage options.  Like, this shit?  This dude is a king in Gauntlet.  In one grid, you get Vigilance, Impervious, Interference Immunity, Status Immunity Lucky Skill, and +1 to both defenses each time you use Clear Smog, on a guy with 300+ defenses and 800+ HP when EX, who can also heal 10% HP every other action if desired.  Against any stage, you can drop tools to get Master Healer and make it 20%.  This guy is a delightful tank who, over time, can build up just about anything.  And since his trainer move can be called, I’m inciting violence by saying “It’s like SS Blue but if Blue were in any way consistent.”  But, there is a tradeoff.  This dude is absolute garbage in CS.  Slow-ramping defensive buffs means he can and will get bowled over by offensive parameter CS.  He takes six turns at minimum to cap crit for the team, which is unreasonably slow.  He can only work with the most self-sufficient of strikers.  His ability to apply status also means he has to neglect the no status parameter that’s often free money, but what status he hits is random so he doesn’t support units that need something specific like Emma.
All this to say, Ball Guy has merit, but was hit with a wild amount of inconsistency that would be exciting to my primal instinct to cause mayhem, but given how expensive this month was, I don’t think I can justify it.  Like, sure, he has some neat applications for Gauntlet, but like...what utility does he have above the Galar Champions?  Against Leon?  Against the upgraded Gloria?  Even Anni Raihan got an expansion that makes him an ideal tech for two types of weather.  Ball Guy just can’t compete with the strength of what else is available right now.  Sorry, Ball Guy.  Another time, perhaps.
EX and Move Level? Oh yeah, he’s support, so 3/5 would be demanded.  And it’s...pretty necessary.  Without the obscene tools on his 3/5 grid, Ball Guy is really bad.  You’re losing out on the tools that make him viable, and keeping only the inconsistencies.
Team 1: Ball Guy, SS Hilda, Tech Ninetales SS Hilda’s perfectly self-sufficient on offense, and just needs Cobalion’s gimmicks checked.  Ball Guy’s guaranteed random status means he can always hit Cobalion for something, facilitating SS Hilda’s damage.
Team 2: Ball Guy, Elesa, Volkner/Tech Lickitung Provided his skill works in the way desired, Elesa’s grid expansion allows her to answer Tornadus really effectively, between much improved DPS with better healing and less recoil.  Volkner is Terrain, Lickitung is defense debuffs.
Team 3: Ball Guy, Shauntal, Viola/Tech Lickitung Uxie has high resistance to status that can cause problems if it builds to immunity.  With random application, Ball Guy ensures Uxie will always be hit with some kind of status.  All we need then is the trap condition, which Viola or Lickitung can provide.  Shauntal is a fairly self-sufficient buffer, and should in theory be able to handle it.
Team 4: Ball Guy, Alder, SC Ingo/Ramos Azelf’s debuffing of defenses can be really severe, but Impervious blocks those debuffs outright, allowing him to theoretically stay in the game, despite his pathetic healing.  Alder self-buffs perfectly and can hit really hard.  SC Ingo powers up the Bug stuff, but Ramos is the sleep chain that carries.
Team 5: Ball Guy, NY!Lisia/Diantha/C!Marnie, SS Wally/Erika Cresselia and Latias, as the problem children, are the most significant options answered by Ball Guy’s Clear Smog.  NY!Lisia and Diantha are good self-sufficient buffers with the Fairy typing that allows them to hit Latias’ later phases hard.  Champion Marnie obliterates Cresselia, and thanks to Buddy move, is pretty efficient at trucking the sides in Latias’ fight as well.  Wally is Fairy Zone, but also should be split up, so maybe consider Erika for special defense drops instead.
Final Thoughts “Did you really write more for Ball Guy than Champion Bede?”  Look, Bede’s easy to apply and is broad in his utility.  I don’t have to write many for people to get the picture.  It’s when someone has specifics that we have to talk, and Ball Guy only has specifics.  And he lives and dies by those specifics.  But also, if you pull him, tell me how sick it is.  I’m genuinely curious if he felt worth it to those who got him.

Day 15
Now that I have recovered from my ‘until 3 am writing binge’ over a D&D campaign, I want to talk about Strixhaven. Because it bothers me, also because I damn well paid for it and will probably only use the items and spells because it is a very overwhelming adventure module.
It’s also an adventure module with issues.
I’m always hesitant to talk about issues with following adventure modules; especially ones that are very large like Curse of Strahd or Strixhaven. Because I recognize that because I didn’t write it, I don’t know what went on in the head of the person who did. I also assume that people who playtest these modules often play in a particular way that I may not, or they just have more experience than I do in prepping. But oh my god! Strixhaven is incredibly overwhelming in scope and design. I know it’s supposed to be this bigger than life academy but it resulted in such a large scope. Like, between the four colleges, there are 4-5 staff members creating at least 20 staff in total. Now, I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to use all of the staff, it depends on where your players want to end up in terms of their college, but it just is so much.
(I wish adventuring modules would have a section on how to do a session zero for that module especially for newbies.)
Side Note: Strixhaven does have a section that reads “Session Zero” but it’s merely to suggest extra playing rules, and doesn’t go into the finer details of what your players should know before starting the campaign and what can be kept to yourself. And what you should be talking about to set the tone.
For Chimera Academy, the campaign I made, there are only 8 teachers, with 4 other staff members, rounding out their number to 12. Now that is still a lot of staff, but it helps that I'm not bouncing around between four colleges or houses.
Which brings me to the fact it has this college system. I blame Harry Potter for this trend, this need to have players or students be sorted into a dorm/house/college based off of traits. It adds a layer of complexity that no one needs. Now if you were doing a Harry Potter knock off campaign that would be different because almost everyone has read Harry Potter and knows about the four Houses so you wouldn’t be working with anything complex. But when you have unique Houses (to lack a better term) with their own traits, that is more information you need to impart on your players without overwhelming them.
I didn’t bother for Chimera Academy; while there are three Houses (because chimera the mythical beast is made up of three animals), there is nothing special about them and which one you end up in is by lottery (or special request if needed).
The other thing I want to mention is the relationship rules in Strixhaven. Now, you don’t need to use the relationship rules, but I do want to point out how problematic they are. The Bane Boon you could get if you don’t have a negative relationship with another person, results in actions that are bullying in nature. I know, the Bane Boons are meant to hamper players in some way, but if you read it in the context of a school, they’re horrible. Singing lyrics that are rude to people, causing others to refuse to help you in your research, being ignored by certain circles, or not served properly in establishments, those are all things that bully people into isolation. And these are fellow students who have power over you because they have connections you do not.
If your players don’t care about the role play aspect of it, or they’re fine being put into a position where they’re pretty much socially and emotionally bullied, sure, but yea, I was not happy with that rule set and reading through those even though I knew I didn’t have to use them.
My final issue with Strixhaven is just the set up. It’s weirdly too prescriptive in trying to shove an adventure into a school setting, but at the same time it doesn’t give enough direction. And the result is this silted adventure where the campus/school life doesn’t feel lively enough. It’s hard to, unless you’re an experienced DM (this is not a module for first time DMs) you won’t know where to start. You don’t want to railroad your players hard into the adventure, you want to give them the chance to explore and experience this amazing school and world.
And to be honest, I don’t know how to solve that for another person. I know how to solve it for myself, because I’m writing my own campaign, so I know exactly where everything is and how everything fits together. For myself, I’ve done a few things.
First, the first day of the school, I’m going to give the players a choice of three activities they can do. These activities are run by older students, giving the players reason to interact with older students. They introduce the clubs and it sets up the kind of environment they’ll be staying in.
Second, is that I know the motivations of all my teachers. All my teachers are written by me in two ways, the first is the general background of the teacher. The thing that everyone sees or hears about, the second, is a DM only background, which also includes their motivations. Why they do, what they do and what are they doing?
Which by the way, works for me, but I suspect may run into the same problem of, this is just too much information if I gave it to someone else to run. Though it does make me want to see if I could organize it and set it up in a way that someone else could run this. Maybe that’s a thought for future me.
My campaign is more of an intrigue campaign which I’ve never done before, so we’ll see what happens.

Got a couple new additions to my ever expanding Power Ranger collection this week...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First was the Blue Ranger from Dino Thunder, who I had added to an eBay watchlist and then the next day the seller was like "hey, want a 10% discount?" out of nowhere.
Which brought the price down under $20 soooo... yep, went ahead and ordered right then.
Tumblr media
That shield is such a great design. I like spikey shields, and with this one the spike on the end (for stabbing) is retractable!
And then today, somebody else was waiting for me at the post office...
Tumblr media
LORD ZEDD!
...who shipped super fast, so he ended up being my first figure from the MMPR line. (I have the "remastered" versions of the original Black and Yellow Rangers on the way also, probably arriving by Thursday.)
He's pretty damn impressive. Such a close likeness to how the suit on the show looked. He looks menacingly BIG next to the rangers, too -- even the taller male rangers look noticeably smaller in comparison, between the bit of extra height and how thick his limbs are. I really like how his tubes are flexible and stretchy enough to move along with his limbs without any issues when posing him... I'd expected him to have a bit more limited range of motion than the Rangers because of those tubes, but they really don't hinder his movement at all.
In addition to the Z-staff (a requirement for any Lord Zedd figure), a couple different hands, and a red lightning effect piece, he even came with one of the grenade thingies he throws down to enlarge monsters!
About the only other thing he could've had would be that snake he sometimes transformed his staff into when he was just sitting around and not needing to zap anything with it, but I'm sure there's tons of plastic/rubbery toy pythons out there that could work for that.
Tumblr media
And now I have somebody a whole lot tougher than a single Cog for the rangers to fight! No MMPR figures yet, but I figured Tommy having a rematch with Zedd after getting the Zeo powers made sense.
(In the background here is my sage plant, which my younger sibling commented "looked like Zedd must have thrown one of his magic embiggening grenades at it." 🤣 That plant has done a LOT of growing lately due to rain and warmer weather!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Between how Zeo was described as an overall upgrade over their previous powers and the fact that Zedd seems extra vulnerable to the energy of the Zeo Crystal for some reason (trying to grab it in the past was what caused him to lose his outer skin layer and end up as a cyborg-skeleton-meatman!), I feel like maybe Tommy could get a solid win the second time around, rather than struggling for a while and only managing to push Zedd to retreat by breaking his staff.
Tumblr media
...but if all else fails there's always the Ivan Ooze maneuver.
Tumblr media
"Aaaaggggh! You win this round, but you haven't seen the last of me, Power Rangers! Hahahaha - ow my balls - haha!"

I'm definitely old now
In 2023 I struggled to reconcile my desire to stay out late at night and make memories with my desire to have a restful sleep schedule. In my 20s I would regularly leave the house after 11pm because many spots and events don't get lit til around 12am. In 2023 I think I pretty much always chose sleep over staying up. Was supposed to go clubbing for my friend's birthday party, and I really wanted to go. But I probably wouldn't have been home til 3am, which would inevitably cause me to wake up early to go into work after some sleep-deprived days. I'd risk making mistakes at work or thinking too slowly at work, which could cause patient harm. Then I'd go home from work and be too tired to meal prep, work out, clean, study, etc. so that day would be wasted. And it'd take prob a few days to correct the 1 night of staying up too late. So i told him wouldnt be able to stay up late for clubbing, and in a way i shocked myself at how unfamiliar this new me is, given how much i loved going out dancing.
The Killers have a special place in my heart because their music transports me back to the middle school version of myself. I listened to Hot Fuss so many times in middle school and the drama spoke to my angsty, emotional, and insecure self. that younger version of me who constantly dreamed about a grander life. When they came to SF, I knew that it'd mean so much to go to their concert; I have this obsession with nostalgia and attaching sentimental significance to certain things so I can commemorate memories and try to relive or reexperience them. (yes i realize that was extremely redundant word choice but idc bc i gotta head into work in a bit.) But I decided with difficulty to miss their concert since I had early morning work the next day.
I have extra special fond memories of NYE in past years- gathering with lots of strangers, dancing, bundled up under thick layers and scarves to ring in the new year. in those moments that you're gathering and celebrating and chanting the last ten seconds of the year out loud in unison with everyone around you, you KNOW you're going to remember those exact moments of revelry and joy for years to come. but i turned down my friend's invitation to celebrate this year because i had work in the morning on New year's day.
These are just some examples of when me in my 20s might have leaned toward going. While I admit the clubbing may have been the pursuit of hedonism as dancing is joy found in a simple act of moving to music and allows me to leave all my worries behind off the dance floor, the concert was more about nostalgia and NYE was more about creating memories. In 2023, there were many other times when I consistently chose over and over again to NOT stay out late. Mainly because I felt an obligation to be responsible for my job. friend invited me to watch a movie that starts at 7pm next Friday--I told him I'll have to sit this one out because idk if i'll even be awake by the end of the movie.
a 7pm movie on a friday evening is too late for me now... welcome to my 30s.
I've recently started to reframe my perspective on getting older. im obviously starting to realize now that I feel way more wrecked on 5 hours of sleep than i used to. body aches appear spontaneously now. the appearance of my body and face is not what it used to be. but im actually really appreciating the present, because i think about how in my 40s I'm going to WISH I could be back in my 30s. And in my 50s I'm going to think man I really had it good in my 40s. So thinking of future me makes me appreciate the body I have today, and I actually feel grateful. I'm quite proud of shifting my perspective because when I was like 28-30 I used to feel miserable about the thought of getting older. I had best fully appreciate this time now, because it will slip away into the past, so I want to savor it all now while Im lucky enough to have it. i will say the weights ive been lifting have been the heaviest theyve ever been, so there are small victories.
My really dear friend is in her 90s and has sciatica. She has been in a lot of pain. But the other day I received a package from her in the mail. She'd sent me pecan pie and cookies. To know that she baked a pie and cookies and packaged them up and shipped them over to me from San Clemente, all despite her sciatica pain, is one of the most meaningful acts of kindness i've received. As i get older I also better understand just how much love is delivered through food. anyone who has cooked and prepared food for me, i realize how much it takes to do that and the abundance of love that is poured into and expressed through food. im so inspired and touched to witness that kindness and am grateful our paths crossed.

When to Replace Your Roof
Introduction
As a homeowner, there are few things more devastating than the discovery that you have a leaky roof. If you live in an older home, your roof may be over 20 years old and need replacement. You can check out our list of warning signs below to see if your roof needs to be replaced right away or if it can wait until next year.
Tumblr media
The roof is over 20 years old
If your roof is 20 years old or older, you may need to replace it. A roof's lifespan is usually 20 years, but there are a few variables that can affect this number. For example, if you live in an area with harsh weather conditions or frequent storms, a lot of sunlight and heat exposure can shorten the life of your shingles.
If your house's roof has been leaking for some time now and you haven't had the money to replace it yet—or even if it hasn't leaked yet but isn't giving off any warning signs—you should consider replacing your entire roof sooner rather than later. If water damage occurs inside of your home due to a leaky ceiling (and let's face it: who wants mold growing on their walls?), then not only will you have to replace that portion of the structure, but there could also be electrical wiring issues as well as mold growth around electrical outlets and switches that could lead to fire hazards down the road.
Missing shingles
If you can see the roof decking, or if you can see nails holding shingles in place, it’s time to replace the shingles. You may also want to call a professional if:
Your roof is missing more than one shingle.
The nails holding the remaining shingles are visible.
Shingles are curling or blistering
Shingles that are curling or blistering can be caused by heat, moisture, and sun exposure. Blistering indicates that the asphalt used in your roofing shingles has become brittle, making it vulnerable to cracking and tearing. Blisters indicate that moisture is getting under the shingle and causing it to expand. This makes them more likely to pop off during high winds or heavy rainfalls.
If they’re not replaced soon enough, these cracks can cause the integrity of your roof to deteriorate quickly—and even lead to leaks! Curling or blistered roofing shingles may also result from poor installation: if installed too close together or in an area subject to extreme temperature fluctuations (like a deck), they may warp over time due to improper ventilation between each layer of shingles.
Cracked shingles
While cracks in shingles can be caused by a variety of factors, including age, weather, and improper installation, one of the most common causes is an ice dam. Cracks in shingles that are due to this should be repaired immediately. If you have a small crack between two shingles, you may be able to patch it yourself with asphalt-based roof cement (similar to what's used on driveways).
Granules in gutters
If you have granules in your gutters, it's time to replace your shingles.
Shingles are made of asphalt and can be recycled. Most shingle manufacturers will recycle them for you, leaving only the plastic stripping around the edges of each piece that's no longer useful. The process is simple: collect all of your old shingles and take them to a recycling center or drop-off location near you (check with local hardware stores). Then, order replacement shingles from a supplier or contractor. They'll come in bundles with instructions on how to install them yourself or hire someone else if need be.
Don't just throw away those old shingles! You never know when you might need an extra layer of protection for your roof against hail damage at some point in the future
Outside light shining through roof boards
If the light is shining through the roof boards, it's a sign of a leak. A leak can be caused by a damaged or missing shingle. The water damage may be minor—the ceiling may only have small stains and signs of mold growth—but if left unchecked, those stains and molds can quickly spread throughout your home.
If you notice any leaks in your roof, contact us immediately for repairs to save yourself from expensive water damage bills!
Watch out for these warning signs of roof damage and replace your roof before it leaks.
If you notice your roof is over 20 years old, it may be time for a replacement.
If there are missing shingles, this indicates that the underlayment has been damaged and needs to be replaced as well.
Shingles curling or blistering are a sign that moisture is getting into the underlying wood and causing rot.
Cracked shingles indicate that water has penetrated under them and caused damage to the wood underneath. This can lead to leaks in your attic space, which can damage insulation and cause mold growth if not repaired quickly enough.
Granules in gutters also signify damage; if granules haven't been cleared out regularly, they can build up over time until they overflow onto your driveway or sidewalk below—a surefire way to let passersby know there's something wrong with your home's exterior!

I suggest using hot hands! When I worked at a fresh amazon they'd stick me in the freezer cause they fucking hated me cause I didn't take the job seriously, I was there for an extra quick cash grab, and it was like... A Deep Freeze. They Made Us put on PPE, like the big huge thermal suit, gloves, and all that shit. I'd have to take breaks every like 15-20 minutes cause my eyelashes would fucking *freeze shut* if I didn't. It was unfun. But hot hands helped IMMENSELY with any frozen hand problems. Just pop those suckers in your gloves and your good until they wear off and then just get some new ones. I think I'd use two of them for the few hours I was in the freezer!
>.the problem is that to do ANY work in the freezer. .aside from just. .moving boxes around. .we have to operate a TOUCHSCREEN device.<
>.personally. .i would like to take the entire corporate team who decided this was a good idea. .and lock every one of them in a freezer for two hours. .and force them to do my job while wearing the sort of ppe i have access to.<
>.since we have to bring our own coat, gloves, etc. .they're getting walmart's twenty dollariest coat and a cheap pair of knit gloves layered over a cheap pair of fingerless gloves.<
>.i will be shocked if i still have prongs by the time we get paid next. .i am demanding we spend the money to at least get touchscreen compatible gloves.<

How are you treating your warts? Up to 10% of the people in the world have warts. It goes up to 20-30 percent among school-aged children. Even though warts are not cancer, they need to be taken care of right away. Why? Because warts are very easy to spread!

Is Smootag Skin Warts Remover the best way to get rid of warts? Why not read this review on Smootag and find out for yourself?
How do Warts Occur?
Warts are caused by an infection with the human papilloma virus (HPV). This virus makes the top layer of skin make too much of a hard protein called keratin (epidermis). The rough, hard surface of a wart is caused by the extra keratin.
Warts are contagious because the virus that causes them is easy to pass from one person to another. If you touch someone with warts, you can get them too.
Warts can show up on any part of the skin, but they are most often found on the hands. They can also hurt the knees, feet, genitalia, and face.
When the human papillomavirus (HPV) gets into a cut in the skin, it causes a skin infection that leads to warts. Warts are very easy to spread. The virus can move from one person to another or from one part of the body to another by:
Contact with a wart directly.
Shaving
A contaminated towel, doorknob, or shower floor can be touched.
Cuticle picking and nail biting.
Intercourse with a sexual partner (genital warts).
Who is at risk of getting Warts?
Warts can happen to both men and women of any age. But kids are more likely to get warts because they cut themselves a lot. Still, warts can happen to anyone. People with autoimmune diseases or weak immune systems, like the elderly, are more likely to get warts.
The Smootag wart remover works for people of all ages, which is good news. Men and women of all ages, both young and old, can use this tool to get rid of warts.
How can one prevent Warts
Here are some steps you can take to lower your risk of contracting the virus or preventing warts from spreading:
Try not to shave over a wart.
Don’t do things like bite your nails or pick at your cuticles.
Don’t share towels, washcloths, clothes, nail clippers, razors, or other personal items.
Don’t pick at someone else’s wart.
Use condoms and get the HPV vaccine to avoid getting genital warts.
Plantar warts won’t spread if you keep your feet dry.
Try not to cut or scratch a wart or pick at it.
When you use a public locker room, pool area, or shower, you should wear flip-flops or shoes.
What is Smootag?
Smootag is a revolutionary device that easily reduces warts making your skin smooth and blemish-free. Smootag is a wart remover that acts mechanically on the lobanillo, cutting off the blood supply from which it feeds and causing it to fall off in a few days. It works cleanly and efficiently.
When treatments have been applied that burn the flesh, either with creams or with extreme cold, you can get to splash healthy skin and cause pain. The Smootag wart remover device works slower but does not cause any pain.
Benefits
REMOVES WARTS FROM THE SKIN: Restores smooth skin and gives you an even complexion free of unsightly warts.
NATURAL PROCESS: Procedure free of toxic and chemical ingredients, for a fuss-free application with no side effects.
A SIMPLE, EASY METHODOLOGY: By simply leaving the ring on the neck of the wart, it will detach from your skin in a matter of days.
HARMLESS AND PAIN-FREE: You won’t experience any burns or injuries. At the end of the natural process, the dead skin falls off by itself.
SCAR FREE RESULTS: Thanks to its micro ring procedure it leaves no scars or visible marks.
PERFECT GIFT: The perfect gift for family members and friends!
How Does Smootag Work?
Tumblr media
The tool consists of micro rings that are implanted at the root of the wart, blocking the blood supply.
This means that warts do not receive blood and little by little they begin to dry up and change color, until finally after a few weeks they drop off.
We emphasize the importance of implanting the micro ring correctly in the neck of the wart so that it can effectively apply pressure and block the blood flow. If the ring is placed incorrectly, it will not work.
