Could you elaborate on what the yanli-jc wwx conspiracy is?

They are just generally in cahoots re: making sure he's safe and bringing him home, sometimes in defiance of their parents or society or just the likely fact of his death. The first time Wei Wuxian runs away Jiang Cheng wants to follow him because he's worried he'll get hurt. Jiang Fengmian says no, and when Jiang Cheng sneaks out in defiance of his father's wishes with his little rucksack in hand, Yanli is waiting at the gates to support him and tell him to bring Wei Wuxian home safe, implicitly siding with him against their dad in the matter of whether Wei Wuxian might be in real trouble and if so, whether Jiang Cheng's help might be valuable.

The second time is during the sunshot campaign while Wei Wuxian is missing- she comes in when he's brooding over Wei Wuxian's sword and tells him how grown up he is, fusses over him a bit and asks him to bring him back. Jiang Cheng fervently agrees, and looks actively relieved and pleased she's asking this of him- it's blatantly obvious he was going to do it anyway, but her support and faith mean a lot to him which I think is significant because he's usually so worried about failure and he knows Wei Wuxian has been thrown in the burial mounds and is almost certainly dead, but he's not actually frightened he'll fail her, he's just glad they're on the same page. He gets extra support this round because Lan Wangji is also refusing to believe Wei Wuxian is dead and taking joint missions to Yiling with Jiang Cheng and his own turn at sword brooding.

Breaking the pattern, in CQL she was originally going to go with him to talk to Wei Wuxian after he takes the Wens to the burial mounds but he kind of sneaks off without her when he sees her with Zixuan and then doesn't manage to bring Wei Wuxian home to her; she has a sad prophetic dream about it. The conspiracy is broken!

Until! They conspire to bring Yanli to Yiling so Wei Wuxian can see her wedding clothes. I personally think it's implied by the response to Zixuan's request for Wei Wuxian to be allowed at Jin Ling's hundred days ceremony that they were in on that together- either way they're both playing their part, because everyone from the Lan to the JIn know Jiang Cheng would happily take Wei Wuxian back and Yanli misses him. Whether they planned it or just moped really obviously is debatable buy money is on them being in on it together with Zixuan and maybe even Lan Wangji.

And then of course there's Nightless City, where Jiang Cheng notably does not try to get to Wei Wuxian but Yanli does, and then he finds him and loses him all over again so he can have a much more prolonged and less emotionally supportive round of refusing to believe Wei Wuxian is dead.

Bonus Round: The only time Yanli sends Wei Wuxian after Jiang Cheng it's when he's been captured by the Wen because he was already on top of the send Wei Wuxian home safe to Jiejie agenda.

#annnnd basically all of this is a cql exclusive! in the book there's no roadtrip we don't see yanli and JC interact during sunshot and she's #not there for the fall of lotus pier. and zixuan just writes a letter to wwx inviting him to the ceremony #whereas in the show you explicitly see him tell his dad that yanli #producer of heirs and legitimate grandsons #just has one teensie little thing that would make her happy #and lwj backs him up and writes the letter himself #i forget who says he can rejoin the jiang immediately if he gives up the amulet i think it's jgy and obviously a trap #but it's taken for granted that everyone from lxc to jgs knows jc will take him back if he's allowed to. womp womp also you get the shot of #JC and Yanli waiting for WWX together with Jin Ling when they get the news of Zixuan's death which is just. they wanted to introduce him to #jin ling together ;___________________; we three!!!

Leo and Sunny together gives me tons of feelings because at surface level, it’s just two very similar girls fighting over very childish things like who copied who and who likes Pepito more. But looking deeper made me realize just how similar they are.

It’s a funny coincidence that both Sunny and Leo have pivotal character moments when they interact. One right before and one right after.

Sunny’s is the mermaid family meeting with Tubbo before she was told about Leo’s prank, and it’s hard to watch. This little girl so desperately wants to be loved by others. She so desperately wants her other parents to meet her and take care of her that she’ll take any semblance of them and love it to moon and back. It’s too bad the remaining shards she has are horror stories and a body by the dock.

Leo’s happens right after saying “hola” and a few other words to Sunny and running away up the hill. When Foolish catches up to her, she’s already sitting in a chair and partway through watching a video. The video was an ai Foolish cover of Gary come home in spanish but replaced Gary with Vegetta (Vegetta vuelve a mí). Leo continues watching and it becomes apparent just how much she is affected by her other father’s disappearance. The depressing scene only darken when discovering that the ai cover was made a month before she disappeared. Two and a half months is a dangerously long time to hold out hope. Especially when it can all come crashing down on you in an instant.

Leo and Sunny are deeply lonely and crave the love and attention from their other parents that their single dads just can’t provide. They’re just a couple of girls god damnit let them live :(

Deacon willing to help people but doesn't recognize people so he doesn't remember what he did for who. So he just agrees and is like cool don't mention it then they mention it and he's like uhhhhhh.

However, that's other humans. He can identify the deities much easier because they have a unique glow. Like can actively tell Ymber "oh Lady Fulj just entered the city" and Ymber is like how the heck did you sense her that far away when I can't sense her that far away. It actually takes a while for Ymber to realize Deacon really doesn't know any of his coworkers and who he's talking to.

Fell asleep last night thinking about an au where Norman recovers from being the Green Goblin, but he ended up doing some really creepy stuff beforehand including attacking Peter as he was Peter Parker and not Spidey and then keeping him locked up for several days (Peter ends up with a few scars from it)

Norman avoids any jail time because he’s rich and revealed somewhat of the truth, that a medicine he was working on for himself had terrible side effects, no one knows about him being the Goblin, they only know about him attacking Peter

Peter is able to successfully get a restraining order against him tho, but Norman’s a jackass who keeps hanging out on the fringe of the distance he’s supposed to be at and speaking/yelling at Peter, stuff like “when you finally forgive me and drop this restraining order, I’ll be here with open arms,” and “Uncle Ben wouldn’t want you to hold this hate in your heart” and because of the previous mentioned richness, Peter can’t do anything unless Norman steps too closely

And tbh Peter mostly got the restraining order because he was worried it would look suspicious if “Peter Parker” didn’t seem too badly affected by things, since he was used to being attacked by Norman as Spiderman

But now that he’s keeping Norman away, even if he still hangs around, and he has visible scars from it that everyone can see, and everyone knows about the court case and what happened and keep asking him if he’s okay, he’s…starting to acknowledge that it all was traumatizing, not just the kidnapping event but the whole thing with the Green Goblin, that he was just pretending it wasn’t because he’s a hero, and people seeing how badly it’s been affecting him is actually healing in a way

#part of the au #was that Peter runs Parker Industries #and although most people are on Peter’s side #every time there’s a science event the people who set it up complain at him and try to get him to drop his restraining order against Norman #because they’re going to invite Norman #he’s rich and runs a science company #but they also have to invite Peter because even if it’s a small company he’s always putting out amazing inventions #and it makes it difficult for the organizers to plan it with the two of them always staying a certain amount away #so they’re dicks. #and Miles was upset that people could just harass Peter about his restraining order and that he’d have to deal with someone who hurt him #at this event #so he gets his dad involved as some unofficial security guard since Norman probably paid off all security at the event #which was really sweet of Miles but now Peter has no way of escaping as Spiderman #and then I fell asleep before figuring out how he’d get around that because if Miles is also at the event then his dad #would be paying attention to him too especially if Norman Osborn is nearby #so that’s why this section isn’t in the body of the post #I love Norman Osborn but sometimes gotta acknowledge he was a creep who greatly traumatized Peter #Peter Parker #Norman Osborn #Spiderman #spider man #spider-man #the green goblin

I have this kakagai prompt where everyone speculates about Kakashi and Gai, but no one knows they are actually married, except for Tsunade (because she had access to all files when she became Hokage) the administration chunin that processed the marriage documentation…and Lee. 

He figured it out at 12 and it was confirmed by Gai himself when Lee asked him. Later, Kakashi also confirmed it and that was it. 

So years later, when some powerful nobleman comes to Konoha, ready to negotiate an arranged marriage with the Rokudaime to either his son or daughter, Lee is very confused when everyone goes into shock after he kindly reminds the nobleman that an arranged marriage will not be posible because Kakashi-sama ( “Please drop the ‘lord’ part, Lee”) is already married to Gai-sensei because, well...wasn't that common knowledge?

i think there's probably something to be said about like. how a concerning amount of your own rights and life are locked behind red tape and prerequisite knowing how to do something "official" and how legal situations work and everything. as well as how technology is being integrated into it all. bc fundamentally a lot of people just will not be able to do these things without help and they don't know how to get that help and the members of ur community that are vulnerable to this like i don't know the disabled the elderly people whose first languages aren't english even just quote unquote "the uneducated" or those who struggled to get an education for any reason are all just CONSTANTLY being fucked bc the formula is locked away and those who put it in place just go "well you should have known". like how could you know what you DON'T KNOW. and these aren't a small percentage of people like i'd say it's literally just. laymen. people you know.

I promise you if you give people the benefit of the doubt, if you assume ignorance or misunderstanding instead of malice, if you make the effort to give and recieve clarity, if you listen to people's thoughts and explanations, you will see the world as so much less cruel than you had before. #bangles' post #this is about my dad #who last week had invalidated my chosen name as a not-real name and sought my permission to use my deadname when talking to the older gen #and today sat down with me to talk about my chosen name and what it means to me. he really sought to understand why i chose it #and he then not only apologised for misunderstanding the value of my name and for invalidating it #but also explicitly reassured me that im allowed to tell him if hes wrong #which is huge for him. hes never invited correction on something lile this before - something that he feels is a matter of principle #ie chosing a name with importance and meaning and serious intent #hes not perfect. he still holds dated beliefs that he hasnt truly examined or even allowed himself to question. #hes never been particularly emotional available or even very present in my daily life #but he is trying. and he does want to be better #and if both of us had given eachother the benefit of the doubt we could have had a much better conversation about my name #but still. talking about now its clear that he does genuiningly want whats best for me. he just needs to know that #im taling myself seriously enough that the ways he tries to help will actually be helpful #im rambling. anyway #give people the benefit of the doubt. i promise its worth it
