You don't know me but I'm a friend of a friend of yours and I've followed your art for many years now. seeing everybody finally latch onto your world and characters the way they deserve makes me extremely happy and feel a bit like a proud uncle
Ooh, things are getting very cryptic. Thank you, mysterious secret uncle!

What do you think the former hashira were like? Cuz there has got to be at least one round where they’re mostly women, there has to be I refuse to believe it doesn’t exist
What other branches breathing forms were lost to time?
Did there once exist a water pillar with all the violent rage of an ocean storm balanced out by a more tempered and polite wind pillar (lesbian wives anyone?)
Just imagine somehow summoning their ghosts and they 1: looks oddly similar to giyuu and Sanemi and 2: are disgustingly in love with eachother (I just think it’s be funny
We’re their other breathing forms lost to time? We’re some rediscovered? Was there once anyone who held the same name as “insect” or “most” pillar but it branches off from a completely seperate breathing form? How were they different?
May I please see more thunder hashira please I just I want please the world building I must just the possibilities man
Who were the other pillars who fought alongside Urokodaki and Jigoro and presumably have passed? WHO WERE THEY

You? Supposedly thinks about the Roman Empire a few times a week
Me? 24/7 running theories in my head about the sea peoples that contributed to the Bronze Age collapse
We are not the same

You know what I learned today?
At one point, Red Hood had a fucking sidekick
How? Where did Scarlet come from? Where did they go? What was their gender? Their backstory? Their motivation? Were they actually a kid sidekick or just short compared to the absolute tank that is Jason Todd post resurrection?
What happened there
AND WHY THE FUCK DOES NO ONE TALK ABOUT IT

Did you know that Kubo originally intended for Gin to be creepy and off-putting and was very surprised that he turned out to be very popular with the ladies? It seems a very Gin-ish thing to do, just win over the female fans without even trying. Peak troll energy.
I mean, Gin is creepy and off-putting but that is definitely part of his charm. He’s a fun character and tbh it’s surprising Kubo didn’t think Gin would be popular with women. The whole Aizen crew could seamlessly be implanted into an otome.
He’s the classic trope of light-hearted, casually cruel trickster who has a personal connection (usually to MC but in Gin’s case to Rangiku) that betrays a depth of feeling & sensitivity. He’s also pretty!!!
Kubo trolled himself by being a champ at character design lmao.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.

"life doesnt get better, you just get stronger" does NOT include ages 11-17. life does in fact just get better from there. those years are dogshit. like, you do get stronger but its mostly just a factor of not being 11-17 anymore. positive thinking helps but it doesnt fix whatevers going on at 15, you have to brute force through that one raw

You should draw that girl with missing teeth. You should draw that girl with a crooked nose. You should draw that girl with a double chin. You should draw that girl with fat on her body. You should draw that girl with a buzz cut. You should draw that girl with large eyebrows. You should draw that girl with a lazy eye. You should draw that girl with large nostrils. You should draw that girl smiling with gums. You should draw that girl with body hair. It's enrichment for her, treat her right

Yall wanna hear a kinda funny, kinda sad story about my grandmother and hetero-normativity?
Ok, so... when my grandmother was in her 50s (I was an infant), she met a woman at the Unitarian Church. And, as can happen when you meet your soul mate, this event made it impossible for her to deny parts of herself that she had fiercely hidden her whole life.
All the drama- their affair being found out, the divorce with my grandfather, the court battle over who got the house, happened while I was a baby. Even in my earliest memories, it's just Mama Jo and Oma, and my grandfather lived elsewhere (first his own apartment, then a nursing home, then with us.)
But here's the thing- no one ever explained any of this to me. No one ever sat down and was like "hey, Rosie, so do you know what a lesbian is?" It was the 90s. It was Texas. I think my mom was still kinda processing all this, and just assumed that like... I was gonna figure it out. Don't mention it, let it just be normal. Like I think my mom thought that if she explained the situation, she would be making it weird? I dunno.
But like. In the 90s, in all the movies I had seen and books I had read, do you know how many same sex couples I had seen? Like. 0. Do you know how many "platonic best friend/roommates" I had seen? A lot. I had no context, is what I'm saying.
I literally thought this was a Golden Girls, roommates, besties situation until I was like...I dunno, 11? 12?
It was actually their parrot, an African Grey named Spike, imitating my grandmothers voice saying "Johanna, honey, it's getting late", that triggered the MIND BLOWN moment as I realized that *there's only one master bedroom and it only has 1 waterbed* when all the pieces finally clicked.
Anyway. I think it's a real important thing for kids to know queer people exist, for a lot of reasons, but also because kids can be clueless and it's embarrassing to have your grandmother be outted by a parrot because everyone just thought you'd figure it out on your own.
Tumblr media
Anyway, here is my grandma and her wife, my Oma, after they moved to Albuquerque to be artsy gay cowboys and live their best life. They helped run a "Lesbian Dude Ranch" out there (basically just with funding and financial support. As Oma has explained "traditionally, most lesbians don't have a lot of money" so they wrote the checks and let the younger ladies actually run the ranch.)
