“i hope u die” lame, boring, unoriginal. “i hope ur favourite mostly female show’s top category on ao3 is f/m or m/m” horrifying, blasphemous, tragically realistic, no way to survive.

the fact that i was so excited at the beginning of this arc because it seemed like we were going to get a starclan-less political mystery drama and i actually liked the writing of river……….. is it worse to have loved and lost or never loved at all
I still maintain that this arc started off strong. Others in my "orbit" don't like Nightheart but I am a fucking bastion. A wall. A Tower. I think he could have been fascinating if handled with more awareness, set up as someone who causes most of his own problems, failing to live up to his familial legacy as a descendant of Firestar and lashing out at everyone who's just trying to connect with him over this sensitivity.
Between Mistystar's literal collapse, Tigerheartstar's good intentions paving the road to hell, Lightleap struggling with feeling inadequate, the radicalization in ShadowClan... the arc had so much going for it, man.
But no. It's godless heathens. The solution is StarClan again. We thought we were getting a grounded mystery only to be lifted off the ground like a lawnmower in a 7-second vine. Alas.

I don't know why "[insert creepypasta character] wouldn't treat you like that, they'd abuse you!" Is even an argument in the first place? Like yeah sure, maybe, but I like imagining otherwise?? Let people be, a lot of people in this fandom have been seeing them as their comfort characters since they were like nine, why do you care?

Thinking about how Tigerstar’s “true love” is Sasha yet his favorite child is Brambleclaw
Hawkfrost is Sasha’s son, Brambleclaw isn’t.
When Tigerstar looks at Brambleclaw he sees only himself, there’s no Goldenflower in him.
However, each time Tigerstar looks at Hawkfrost, he’s staring into Sasha’s blue eyes.
Tigerstar went against the very beliefs he killed others for when falling in love with Sasha. Sasha brought out his hypocrisy & that weakened his authority.
Hawkfrost was born out of an affair Tigerstar would consider shameful & sinful. Tigerstar killed Stonefur for being a half-clan cat. He tried to kill Stormfur & Feathertail for the same thing. And he HATES Kittypets.
And yet, he made Hawkfrost. His own little half-clan demon that he fathered on a Kittypet.
Brambleclaw was bred to be his perfect son. Goldenflower was nothing but a “proper” womb for his “heirs”.
Tigerstar may have loved Sasha as much as someone like him possibly could, and I believe a small part of him loved Hawkfrost as well, or at least wanted to, he kept him by his side after all
but Tigerstar’s ego can’t allow him to love anyone more than he loved himself, his pride, & his ambition.

I have a question: I haven't read DOTCs but I have read the guides, and the guides Grey Wing is my fave and I've been warned he gets absolutely destroyed in the DOTCs books..so, what are the differences in Guide Grey Wing and SOTC Grey Wing?
BOTC!Graywing only has about a paragraph or so of information on him, and it points towards him being an ancient warlord type. I really like and miss this version, because it reminds me of something straight out of the Seven Military Classics.
We know that he was specifically an ancient leader of WindClan, back before leaders took -star as part of their names. Using some simple deduction from the history we know from SOTC, this means he was a leader before there were official Clans, and before Windstar. Just warring groups without borders.
Onestar refers to him as a tactician, and explains that he invented the practice of strategic placement using stones and drawings in his den like a little kitty war room.
These tactics mostly have to do with battling in open fields, so we can assume;
There were a lot of battles taking place in the moor
Graywing the Wise was involved in a lot of battles, so he could develop and test these ideas.
It's not much, but it's interesting. Paints this idea of a Moorland Warlord... Moorlord, if you will.
DOTC!Gray Wing has a couple of scenes where he's talking strategy or vaguely referencing a tactic, but he spends 3/4ths of his VERY short life having meltdowns at the idea of combat because Hurting My Sweet Brother Makes Us Just As Bad :(
(Camera pans and Sweet Brother Clear Sky is tying a woman to train tracks and cackling maniacally)
MOST of his life is this. He's like 2 years old when he dies of asthma and he only started having opponents to plan battle against in the last few months.
Most of the fights he's involved in before that are spontaneous-- and even less are commanding armies as was implied in BOTC.
He also half leads "WindClan". He's a joint leader with Shadowstar for a while. Anyway, DOTC also tosses him a pity mate because his first two love interests got fridged. His adopted kids like their abusive biodads more; one of them even vows to avenge Tom the Wifebeater, a man she met once who got her mom killed.
Aaaand that's the difference. I think it's obvious I like the BOTC take more.

When he closes the door behind him, and opens his mouth to say, “Can I –”, Erin says it first.
“Can I?” she asks. And before he can answer, confused by the way she mirrors his words back to him as if he didn’t even say them – is he sure he said them? – his back hits the door.
She’s kissing him, hands already in the hair at the nape of his neck and she’s pressing closer and her hands are on him, bracing herself as she leans against him on tip toes, and all he can smell is whatever scent her shampoo is or maybe it’s her perfume, all he knows it it smells like her.
This is – not what he expected.

My view of how this kiss from Making Moves (my fanfic co-written with the talented @areseebee) might have looked at the moment Erin kissed James when he was least expecting it!
