melatonin will not get the best of me tonight. anyways random thought since i started properly rereading wings of fire recently. the books are a lot different than what i remember ??? especially the last couple of times i read the first book was in the graphic novel form.

its like so much was cut out and it doesnt feel that similar anymore. the dod siblings had genuine issues with eachother and even fought and that was barely in the graphic novel? there was even a whole scene in the original book where glory and tsunami faked glory running away just to see if clay actually cared about her. and that just wasnt in the graphic novel. feels like there was a lot of emotional stuff between the siblings that we missed out on.

random extra thing but i swear to god im not the only person that thought dune webs and kestrel were called guardians and not minders right? like i swear when i read that it was like someone stole my book and rearranged the words.

i also distincly remember queen scarlet being 126 years old i have no idea where that number came from but its been one of my most vivid memories about random background information ever.

speaking of that i remember like 2 or more seperate times i had a dream about wof where i was like in the book but also reading it,, like in the way where i think back and think "oh yeah that happened in the books. oh wait, no it was that weird dream i had a while back wasnt it" thats probably where scarlets "age" came from actually.

i have so many weird wof stuff i could say esp since ive been reading it for like half my life wow been that long already

character design is funny! so i gave nightwings fur under their scales that you can see on their underbelly, and then i decided to give farsight curly fur, and oops now nightwings have a rex gene like rats and cats do! and how the rex gene works (i think) is it's a dominant gene but if an animal gets two copies they're bald instead... and oops my hand slipped now morrowseer is bald and he's torturing people who have hair what did i do!?

And here are my notes on my inspirations and references. There's a lot of 'em, so instead of embedding relevant images one by one I put them in a callout sheet! For accessibility, I also included transcript (with bonus ramblings) below each sheet.

Ofuda circle modeled in Google Sketchup 2017, then lightly transformed in Photoshop to flare out. I tried my best to hand-draw these, but it the results came out really clunky and stiff. I figured if Mononoke shamelessly utilizes 3D in their show, I can too!

Krill and sky kid composition roughly inspired by the Ayakashi DVD cover illustration. On the surface level, the krill's black-and-red color scheme mirrored that of the bake-neko. Not to mention, in the world of Sky, the krill would be the best fit of a mononoke-like entity. The red background is also a nod to the red skies seen during a shard eruption in Sky.

Sky kid gesture based on the Festival Spin Dancer's Tier 3 poses and the Medicine Seller's iconic pose in the Zakishiwarahi episode as inspiration. This was the idea which springboarded this illustration into existence. I wanted to do my take of the Medicine Seller's pose, but in a more dynamic manner: rotate the pose to a profile position and set the ofuda in a diagonal, flared out arrangement.

Cape inspired by tenbin design featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie. This one's an interesting one - I wanted the cape to be a stiff material that doesn't "flap" when in flight - similar to the Aurora wing capes. It ended up looking like a kite of sorts, which I'm not entirely opposed to! I haven't had the opportunity to showcase the back view of this cape design, but I envision it having some mechanical aspects to it - the "wing" which are flared out in this illustration fold in like moth wings, and a little bell is attached to the "tail" part and it jingles a little whenever the sky kid flaps!

Bandana is based on the Scaredy Cadet's hairstyle from the Season of Assembly. Mask design utilizes the 2023 Days of Style mask and the Nintendo Pack mask as bases. Pretty self-explanatory. I basically went onto the Sky wiki and found the cosmetics that most closely matched what I was looking for. Then if necessary, I went to the Office space to do photoshoots to get the appropriate camera angles for them all.

Seasonal pendant inspired by the classic Medicine Seller's necklace and the eye motif featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie. Possibly the only one-to-one homage to the classic Medicine Seller design here, but his garnet necklace was too good of a match to the seasonal pendant. A side tangent: does the new Medicine Seller possess a necklace, let alone a mirror? So far all the shots of him don't feature it. Fascinating.

Dark dragon krill anatomy references a custom figurine crafted by @/escaflowne_n07 on Twitter. Until I found this, I was honestly at a loss finding reference for this - be it on the internet or during in-game photoshoots. The lighting on the krill in-game focused on its menacing silhouette rather than its structure. And not to mention, getting a close-up shot almost always set off the dark creature's aggro. I have no idea how this guy found the references to put this model together - well done!

Mantas, elder constellations, and sun dog references murals in the Cave of Prophecy. Krill aside, the overall illustration was leaning a little too much towards Mononoke so I tried finding opportunities to insert more Sky into it. Added bonus is that now there's storytelling in the background: during a shard eruption, a giant krill rises from the frothing waves of dark water to hunt down a flock of mantas.

Clouds behind the sun dog reference the ones featuring heavily in the Umibozu episode. This illustration has a lot of ocean theming, so I figured this would be appropriate.

Rendering style of the background is lightly inspired by the 2007 Mononoke illustration. Mainly having a 2D inked style to contrast with the more polished render of the sky kid. Funnily enough, this was a tertiary inspiration, which lead to the discovery in the next point!

Dark water waves and sun dog composition heavily references Hokusai's "The Great Wave". The waves were modified to be bottle-green of the Golden Wasteland's dark waters. The sun dog is in the spot where Mt. Fuji is in the original composition. these were all hand-drawn by the way! I merely emulated the style of the source material. As a side note, I also borrowed the spotted sea spray rendering for the krill's red spotlight.

Background pattern taken from the ofuda design featured in the 2024 Mononoke movie poster. Mainly to add some gritty texture to the sky. I worked pretty hard to replicate this ofuda design as a high-res asset so I wanted to use it more!

Prompt: Drunken confessions

To say you're a lightweight is to say the sky's blue. It's an endless source of amusement to the lads; all they have to do is sit back after a stressful mission, give you booze, and watch the fireworks — literally, when your magic sparks across the bar, little sparks crackling along the ceiling, growing wilder with each shot you take down.

Price smirks behind the rim of his beer as he watches you and Soap knock back shots of liquor in a drinking game, not even trying to understand the slurred tangent you're on; mages are nerds at heart, and the booze has melted your tough guy act and leaving you rambling on about the intricacies of magic. It's one of the things he likes about you, how passionate you are; a good treasure to keep in his hoard.

But Price figures it's time for you to go when you nearly set a trashcan on fire in the corner, your vision long since doubling, the alcohol burning in your mind so strongly a bit of your original eye color peeks out beneath the unnatural glow of mana in your eyes.

"Come on you muppet," He signs, tugging you up by the back of your clothing like you're a wet kitten. You whine and attempt to struggle, but his draconic strength far surpasses yours. "It's far past your bed time." He adds, a little rumble in the back of his throat making liquid heat pool in your belly.

"But captain-" You grumble, the world spinning like a kaleidoscope as Price pulls you out of the bar, enough sense in your brain to throw a middle finger at the rest of your team when they wolf whistle and holler.

"Not a pipe out of you." Price sighs, wing stretching out like a shroud around your back, trying not to pay attention to the way his draconic blood sings when you lean in close; trying not to think how well you fit against him, like a treasure he can hoard. "C'mon, I'll drive you home."

You mumble a few curses under your breath as he helps you into the passenger seat of his car, your inhibitions so lowered so that when he leans over to buckle your seatbelt you tilt your head, burying your nose into his neck and taking in his scent, the smell of musk and cigar smoke filling your senses. Price does his best to reign in his draconic blood, a flash flood of desire burning in his head.

"Easy there mage," He huffs and shakes his head, pushes you back into a seat with an amused snort, settling into the car. The drive back to base is like a blur to you, spent rambling about something even you can't remember as Price just hums in acknowledgement, occasionally having to swat away your wandering hands trying to grope his thigh.

Price has to carry you to your room as you're so drunk you can't stand straight, head nodding as you slowly fall asleep in the car before you even reach the gates. Price tries not to think of how well you fit in his arms as he hoists you up, holding you close to his chest. You head ends up laying on his chest, face buried in his neck.

"Hey cap?" You mumble against his skin, squirming a bit as he carries you.

"Yes?" He asks, heart beating just a little faster as you clumsily wrap your arms around his neck. You mumble something into skin, so soft and low even his advanced hearing can't pick it up, making his ears strain to hear you as he enters your room. "You need to speak up there, mage."

"I love you cap." You slur, so honest and loving, and Price nearly topples over, feet catching on a random piece of junk you've got strewn around your room. But you choose that exact moment to squirm and he ends up tossing you onto your bed, your hangs clutching him tight and pulling him down too.

"Fuck-you bloody muppet!" Price grows, shifting to put the tension off his wing from how awkwardly he'd landed. He attempts to get up, but you're stronger than you look when you want to be, clinging to him like a little koala with your arms and legs wrapped around him.

"Nooo-" You whine, burying your head into his chest, squeezing your arms when you feel his skin is as warm as yours, your mana and dragon fire so similar it's like there's no barrier between your chests. "Mhm, love you John," You say again, making his head short circuit for a few moments, draconic instincts sparking up, wing and tail wrapping around you.

"You-" He sighs as he catches himself, embarrassment blooming in his chest at how he's acting like a young welp. By the time he's calmed down, you've already fallen asleep and using his pecs like a pillow, snoring lightly as you drool over his chest.

"You. . ." Price hums, a small smile tugging on his lips. He shuffles in an attempt to get comfortable, your bed isn't made to house two people but you're cuddled up to him so closely it's like you two are one person. "Bloody mage." He huffs under his breath, his clawed hands carding through your hair, sharp fingers scratching your scalp.

A happy little rumble leaves his chest when you nuzzle closer, your body so warm thanks to the mana in your system. It feels. . . nice, more than nice, his draconic ancestry purrs in his ears and he pulls you closer so your head rests buried in his neck, your and his scents mixing together.

Chances are you won't remember any of this. Chances are you'll deny your words, say it was just belligerent nonsense. But for now you love him, and he leans in to nuzzle his cheek against your hair, big burly arms wrapping around your middle, whispering lowly in your ear— a statement. "Love you too, you muppet."

He can tell he'd created a demon instead of summoned one as soon as the pentagram on the floor starts bubbling lava instead of opening a portal.

And he drops the cast book to pick up the archives, falling over his boots to scramble across the chalk and avoiding singing his clothes, looking anywhere for his binding knife of his destruction ring.

But the burning starts building a form fast and without focus. Intention had already been set while he'd dazed away on a tangent.

You know, when I was workshopping Nikia, King's appearance was revealed as well as his heritage and I briefly worried I'd need to explain if she was a Lunarian or nah.

Apparently tan with white hair, black wings, and fire are key features so she's mostly safe from being mistaken for one. But it did occur to me that it'd be interesting if the people on her island were like, a cross between skypeians and Lunarians and that is why, over time, they get such big ass wings. Biology is weird, and even weirder in One Piece, so it's not so strange to consider that old genes are rising up after so long.

And while Nikia is pale with white wings, the sheer size would likely throw King off if they met. Like, he may think she's half or something, especially with that streak of silver she naturally has.

Idk, maybe in the future I'll do more with this neat detail. It'd be fun. A little zest. Maybe Nikia's family specifically has more Lunarian and that's why she's the first to be able to fly.

Side tangent, Thatch (and Izou to be honest) would not be thrilled King is curious about her. Very not happy, back the FUCK UP kinda not happy. I feel like King would make it a little weird out of a sort of endling syndrome. No, she's not full Lunarian or maybe not even close, but she's close enough for it to hurt.

Wings and Flight in Elden Ring

Misbegotten are feathered and have wings, although they are non-functional on all except the Winged Misbegotten. One of the main. places where they can be found is Castle Morne which is strewn about with many copies of a winged crest. This crest is just at the correct height to give the illusion that the player has wings of their own, when stood in front of - wings forged of metal. There seems to be a theme here connecting the concept of developing wings as "misbegotten" which can mean "an idea that is poorly formed".

Consider also the meaning of the word "imp". Because while the word can mean a mischievous creature or child, it is also an obsolete term for grafting plant buds. The term "imping" is still used today to describe the practice of repairing the broken wing or tail feathers of falcons - giving them wings. The Cat Imps have slender little wings and the Long-Tongued Imps have dragonfly/fairy shaped wings. The Fanged Imps have wings of various sizes between their appearances as statues for receiving stone sword keys, enemy types, fire pillars, spirit ashes, holding the books at the sorcerer rises, etc.

Wolf Imps do not have wings and neither do Elder or Corpse Imps judging by their catacombs statues. The linguistic connection of imping implies that grafting is at the very bedrock of culture in the Lands Between. Thinking back to the Misbegotten and Castle Morne, this is also the location where the Grafted Greatsword can be obtained.

The Crucible Knights use "Aspects of the Crucible" Incantations and from them are dropped the Tail, Horns, and Breath incantations. When fought, these Crucible Knights also seem to be using an "Aspects of the Crucible: Wings" incantation, but it is not obtainable by the player. This ties into a theory that I have about the general nature of the various equipment and items that we can see used by enemies throughout the Lands Between but are not obtainable. These items and incantations/spells are still considered something precious by Radagon of the Golden Order and the Elden Beast. Thus, the Wings incantation is unavailable because "flight" is in a subset of tools that only an Elden Lord can grant, and you are not Elden Lord (yet).

To explore further the meaning of wings leads to a tangent into Wizard of Oz theory. The north and purple-coloured country of the Land of Oz is called "Gillikin" and this is also the country from which the flying monkeys employed by the Wicked Witch of the West originate. The purple-eyed Demi-Human Queen in the Lux Ruins is called Gilika, and demi-humans in general have a design resembling a hairless cross between bonobos and wolf/rat (typical grunts have simian face & feet with pointed ears - the Queens, Chiefs, and runt subtypes like Boc have more elongated snouts of undefined species). No wings though. But that in itself is an interesting choice because as it happens the term "flying monkey" as used in the Wizard of Oz has been picked up as a psychology term meaning "people who carry out the work of a narcissist or an abusive person".

In the context of the above, it is notable that the witch queen of Raya Lucaria in the west also lives in a fortress guarded by winged marionettes in the similar spirit as winged monkeys. The west county of Oz is known for having the best craftsmen in the land, particularly tinsmiths. This is not to say that mapping the counties of Oz to some kind of 1:1 connection with Elden Ring is likely intended - the official map of the Land of Oz is itself a major source of confusion as it accidentally printed west and east backwards. On the other hand, Elden Ring does seem to use colour-coded regions in a way reminiscent of the Land of Oz - green for Limgrave, blue for Liurnia, red for Caelid, gold for Altus Plateau.

And for a final note, there are two demi-gods who sprout wings in their second boss battle phase - Malenia and Mohg. Of the two of them it is Mohg with his dark feathery wings that has the closest thematic connection to the Winged Fanged Imps and Misbegotten. And Malenia's butterfly valkyrie wings are something unwanted - manifestation of her blooming into a goddess of Rot in desperation. What unites both are their close ties to Miquella, who seemed to be in the process of trying to metamorphose and develop wings of his own.

What ever happened to prince Harry and chambermaid y/n? I figured since he wasn’t next in line to be king that he could be with y/n. It wouldn’t be as big of a deal… I assume Edgar would be upset, and his parents would be shocked and confused about the evolution of how their relationship came to be. I think the king would need longer to get over it.

I think the day their parents fully accept the news, they call Harry into the kings office or something and sit him down— to clarify if the relationship is suppose to be serious or not. When he explains his feelings, they didn’t really think he could be feel that way for someone. They nod to him and explain that she is relieved from her duties and can stay in the palace— in a newly located room, not far from his. Though we all know where she will be spending most nights.

She doesn’t understand when Harry comes charging to her with glee, taking her in his arms and swinging her around. He explains it all to her and she just stands there with wide eyes and confusion. She doesn’t understand not working, she’s never not worked. He tells her that she will be able to get eat her sweet treats more often and be with him even more—which makes her very excited.

She doesn’t like being in a different wing of the house. She isn’t used to not being in her original room, and she has to convince Harry she needs to spend the first night in the room his parents gave her. He reluctantly agrees, after the promise of playing with honey together later. There were people in her room, ready to help her start a fire, draw her bath and get dressed for the day. Some of the same people who had pushed their tasks onto her, the ones who had treated her so poorly. She didn’t hold grudges, it seems, but she can’t help but feel uncomfortable. She manages to urge them out of the room and does everything herself.

Of course, word gets back to Harry and his parents before breakfast is even finished cooking. His mother asks him why she sent them off, and if they were adequate enough. Harry knows the truth, but tells his mother that she has known these people far too long to have them wait on her. His mother hums and gives him a little nod as she accepts the explanation.

When she enters the room for breakfast, it’s awkward. Very awkward. She doesn’t know where to sit and when Harry pulls out her chair for her to sit, her stomach drops at the table when she sees all the forms and spoons—even at breakfast. She had placed table settings together for years, but she’d never had try and use it all. Harry would help her as conspicuous as possible. His mother offered for a manners course to help make her transition more comfortable. She declined not wanting to inconvenience anyone. Harry offers to take it with her to “refresh his memory” when he just doesn’t want her to be alone. He finally gets her all to himself, he doesn’t want to be away from her.

I went off on a little tangent lol like a happily ever after thing.

Okay okay one plot point for my One Piece Sound AU is that Zoro is a kendo instructor, and works at the dojo he grew up going to as a kid. Meaning he still works with his sensei Shimotsuki

What I can piece together with Zoro’s early life (I’m still in early one piece idk anything about that gets added to his backstory later) his parents died before the events of the story, so in my AU im going to take that to mean his parents died in some kind of accident when he was a junior in high school.

Shimotsuki took Zoro under his wing cus their families were close and Shimotsuki knew what it was like to lose family. He gave Zoro a steady job at the dojo, set him up with an apartment, and supported his passion for Kendo past high school.

but shit goes south when Zoro finds out he's pregnant and has to notify his work. So again I'm in early one piece, idk anything really about this Shimotsuki guy or what's in his soul, what I do know is that he's a sexist who told his own daughter she couldn't fulfill her dreams. So I think Zoro telling him that he's pregnant with no plans to get married or mate, he'd get on a moral high horse about it. Idk if it's close to canon but I'm okay with bending the personalities of minor characters for my own stories

Essentially, he tells Zoro he would have to give up his dream of being a competitive Kendo fighter if he goes through with this, and that he wouldn't support Zoro and his "lifestyle" so he fires Zoro from working at the dojo. Pregnancy discrimination is a very real thing, and like small tourists towns aren't exactly known for being supportive of unwed pregnant ppl.

Zoro's side of the story is all about his ambition and masculinity, while he goes through something where he'll be judged and made vulnerable, and I think something like this would be a massive hit to his ego and emotional state. It makes him bottle up more, while also making him lean more on the straw hats and Sanji.

When Sanji learns Zoro is now jobless, he offers to let Zoro live with him. They have a whole posturing match about it until Zoro agrees, but ONLY until he finds another job. The plot, as one says, has thickened.

I would say there are about like two months in between when Zoro finds a new job, and I do have some plot ideas as to what will happen in that time span, but rn the important thing is that he gets a job with Mihawk. Who's a fencing instructor and another strong male omega. Mihawk takes Zoro under his wing and lets him use the fencing space to practice his kendo but also shows him some things in the ways of fencing. I like the idea of Zoro having a strong role model to look up to. Like this male omega who's comfortable in his skin and strength and would never let anyone walk over him. Also, someone who doesn't coddle him just because he's pregnant and doesn't assume he doesn't know his own physical limitations.

this is a sidenote tangent: but it really pisses me off when ppl assume people shouldn't be doing anything physical while pregnant. sure avoid stressers, but if you were incredibly physically active before getting pregnant, it's fine if you keep being that level of active, and decreasing as your pregnancy progresses. exercise is great, and it's not other people's place to tell someone what is too much, it's their body!!!! sure Zoro probably couldn't do all-out kendo matches, but there is probably a lot working out he still does, and I already know he's annoyed by people assuming he's doing something wrong by working out.

Hii!! Small disclaimer, I’m actually not caught up with the anime, let alone the manga, at all, so most of what I say is based on snippets I get from fanfics and meta lmao

Hmmm this is really interesting. Short answer: I think with the way that Keigo has finally been set free (symbolically with losing his quirk, and literally from the HPSC (I think)), he’ll probably stop everything else related to Hawk’s job as well.

Slightly longer answer:

From Horikoshi’s perspective, Keigo has already served his original purpose as a character so it wouldn’t really make a difference either way canonically. If he does intend to have those ‘5 years from now’ snapshot, I feel like Keigo will be overseas travelling or something rather than modelling though, if just to be consistent with his theme of being set free. If not as a personal choice, ‘do it for the plot’ lmao. I do mean this quite literally though, because now he’s got so much potential for the ‘self-discovery slice-of-life’.

,,,, but I personally think this is a bit of a cop out choice for Keigo’s future.

I’m not gonna be the analyst who says ‘he never had a chance to make his own choices’ because technically he did. This doesn’t mean he made a good one, but if you step away from popularised fanon, he did agree to going with the HPSC because he wants to be a Hero and not because of his mum. This isn’t so much that I haven’t ‘read between the lines’, but that he never once looked at his mum or made reference to what would happen to his mum if he followed the HPSC. Unless ‘reading between the lines’ include fabricating entire dialogues under an assumption that Hawks was suppressing his memories, I think it’s safer to assume he just couldn’t care less loll. But that’s the thing; his whole life revolved around Heroes, whether as Keigo or as Hawks. Now that it’s been brutally and suddenly ripped out of his hands and NOT in the form of death like he was probably expecting? He has to find something else to do, whether it be modelling or travelling or being a librarian or whatever,,,,, that is, if we make an assumption that he can’t keep being a Hero.

Look, we know he wants to help people. Some might even say he’s kind (that might’ve been drilled out of it by HPSC’s cold blooded training, but hey, maybe it’s just buried really, really deep inside). If we look at this not from a story writing perspective but purely from the character Keigo’s perspective (a bit counter intuitive, I know but bear with me), I honestly think at some point in the far future he might try to pursue a career in Heroism/ the police dpt / the fire dpt (hAH irony)/ some kind of physically-inclined job that traditionally seeks to help people. I think most people tend to stick to things that feel familiar with them even if it’s an unconscious decision.

So how does this link to whether he continues modelling? (because I’ve totally been building up to a point and not just going off on a tangent lmfao)

I think a lot of the fandom sees modelling as Evil, whether this be because of the horror stories of modelling in real life, because of an understanding of mutant quirk discrimination, wing kinks, and thinking Hawks definitely didn’t like being seen in that light, or because of some mixture of other reasons. And I think that’s true in the sense that it probably wasn’t what Keigo had in mind when he first signed up to being a Hero.

With that said, I’ve seen a particularly well written fanfic (I forgot which tbh) where Hawks is explaining the importance of modelling in promoting a sense of safety in civilians, especially for Heroes with anthromorphic quirks, outside of just gaining popularity. Which I think is a really fresh and extremely valid argument. As such, modelling could be a very nice supplement to him regaining popularity or at least, regain familiarity with both the general public but also his roots of inspiring confidence and safety if he decides to pursue any of the jobs I’ve mentioned above.

There is a counter argument, especially for Keigo being a Hero, that the quirkist ideas are so ingrained him (subconsciously or otherwise by the HPSC) that being a Hero again, or just doing any job at all without a quirk probably never crossed his mind. And if he wanted to keep up with helping people, there are a multitude of other jobs he could do. (Which modelling still doesn’t quite fit but ehh maybe as encouragement to/ empowerment of quirkless people?). But, I think this is a rather naive and simplistic analysis of Hawk’s and Keigo’s character of a person too deep into fanon.

If there’s one thing Hawks fans can agree on, please let it be that he’s really freaking complex.

He’s seen the worst and the best of society. He’d just about experienced every facet of society possible as a person in the bnha universe besides being an Average Joe. And now, he’s about to head into the small undiscovered area of quirklessness. (We as readers get a bit of this from Izuku’s POV, but for Keigo this is about as novel as it gets). Speaking as a writer, whether modelling is part of that experience remains entirely on what you want to explore with Keigo as a character.

Ok, i have two scenarios about Belo’s behavior toward admin

He despise them of jealousy because he was a guardian by siadars side for centuries, so he knows more about Krulu, therefore is more competent for the role of a vessel, than some human he happened to pick. Either giving them cold shoulder, or talk shit behind their back

He is very clingy since he sees admin as the chosen one. He is blinded by loyalty so he doesn’t question his lord’s choice. Overprotective and follows them everywhere, especially when nobody asked him, sees everyone as a threat to his lord’s prophet so staff members went from just ignoring him to open enmity

Oh, the second one is definitely closest to the real thing.

You got one thing right, angels are not built to question their lords. Belo has grown a bit of a free wing ever since the gods abandoned the planet, which is what makes him question Krulu's deeds on Earth when he first encounters The Clergy. The thing is, that questioning, however healthy it may be for Belo as an individual, is almost immediately swallowed by the instinct to serve. He can't help himself. And the moment his brain clocks that Krulu is his lord, seriously questioning most things is out the window. Even if the higher goes directly against siadar standards, which Krulu does several times, it won't break Belo's rose tinted lens or loyalty.

As such, Admin's place is not questioned. He certainly didn't wish he was in their role, only humans make for 100% safe vessels and this one seems particularly enamored with his lord, as they should be. So really, Belo trusts this was the perfect choice for a host, but of course, he expects nothing less from his lord! Recognizing Krulu's situation as a banished one means recognizing that other siadar are out there, observing, and that makes Belo boil a little, because why couldn't they at least have taken angels with them?!- But that's a tangent, what matters is that he knows manifesting entirely outside of Admin will expose Krulu more, so in the angel's head, you must be maintained and protected forever.

You will be followed around, fussed over, protected against things you could easily dispatch of yourself, and isolated from others whenever possible. While some of this attention can be admittedly pleasant and spoil you, it also gets old quick. Especially when Belo starts chastising you about etiquette regarding gods and how you "mouth Krulu too much", to which you delight in giving snappy, dirty retorts just to fluster the angel. He says what you have with his lord is a lot more lenient than it should be, and you suppose it is, but he ought to take a step back and not be at everyone's throats.

The staff would get along with him, if the angel didn't act as if their every action was his personal business. Some workers like Grimbly, Sybastian and Fank-e just avoid him, Morell threatens to rip out his wings if he bothers him too much, Nebul is entirely ambivalent, Patches is one second away from setting him on fire, Vinnel will brawl with the angel if he complains during one of his shows again, Gallon tries to get him drunk so he'll shut the fuck up and give others some peace and Santi... Well, Santi has made it his personal mission to ruffle this man's feathers, in any way possible. Mr virgin fluffbutt should know better than to try to antagonize a lust demon. It's safe to say most can barely tolerate him and talk mad shit behind the angel's back.

Perhaps, if Belo didn't share most siadars' acidic views on monsters, he'd be easier to get along with. He himself passes as a monster, in spite of being a glorified, actually intentionally created lifeform, so it's almost ironic. Belo makes Admin's "team cohesion" practices and efforts a lot harder than they otherwise would be, needless to say.

Because of both your and the team's attitude, paired with his lord's almost dismissive regard of him, Belo feels mildly unwanted at The Clergy, and that drives him mad. Because if he's not useful, if he's not serving, then he's nothing. It's back to square one, that horrid emptiness when the gods were gone. He can't go through that again- So he figures he can salvage this somehow, with different methods of worship.

Could it be that if he offered his body, he'd be more accepted? If he gave his lord and their vessel the one thing no one else should even know of?

Maybe he's just been doing this wrong from the start, Belo thinks as he undresses and kneels on Krulu's altar.

Can I share a Pokémon related hot take?

*ahem*

I actually don't like Pikachu as much I as I used to, Pikachu is overrated. Eevee, the rest of the Eeveelutions, Sprigatito, and Lucario are much better than Pikachu. I'm so tired of seeing goddamn Pikachu everywhere, I don't care if Pikachu is Pokémon's mascot, Pikachu is overused and overrated. I'm okay that Sprigatito seems to be the new mascot.

I also think Charizard is overrated, like wow you guys sure love a flightless dragon. Like seriously, Charizard is fire-FIGHTING type instead of fire-flying type despite having wings? What bullshit.

Honestly, the only Pikachu I'm fine with is Detective Pikachu because they actually bothered to give him a personality besides being some cute tagalong mascot. Sure he tags along with Tim, but Detective Pikachu's technically the one leading in the game, telling Tim what to do, so they're more on equal grounds as partners.

But aside from all that, I think Pikachu is overused and overrated. I'll give an exception for Detective Pikachu, but aside from that, some other Pokémon deserves the spotlight. That's actually what led to me creating a parody webcomic called "It Ain't Easy Being Eevee," I got sick of seeing Pikachu everywhere.

As someone in the eevee community, this take is actually pretty common take. But you gotta realize that Eevee is ALSO everywhere. Eevee is officially Pokemon's second mascot, next to Pikachu and Charizard, there's a LOT of Eevee/eeveelution merch as well. (plus isn't eevee's personality just "cute"? ) I looked up Manetric on Toyhouse for character inspo and found out that I had more Eevee OC's on TH than Manetric had on the website period. Sprigatito is popular, yes, but that will most likely pass after Paldea is over with and we are on the next region. Like remember when Piplup was everywhere? Eevee IS more popular than Pikachu! There are several polls showing this, both official and unofficial. For example, here

In this docs link, it shows someone who got 52,000 responses for their favorite pokemon vote. Yes, Charizard was number 1, but guess what? Umbreon was number 6 and Eevee was number 9. Pikachu did not reach top 10. (they were actually Number 44) By family, eevee and the eeveelutions had the most votes out of every single pokemon family with a total of 2865 votes.

And like, there are sections of the pokemon fandom that hate eeveelutions/eevee for this popularity the same way as people hate Pikachu and Charizard for theirs, and these people say the same thing. They are overused, they are overrated, etc etc.

I'd say, "it ain't easy being Eelektrik or Silcoon or Baltoy" at least Eevee is loved by the masses and is also everywhere.... (ok I actually do like Baltoy LOL, but that's JUST ME)
