“Who is wise? He who learns from every person, as is stated: ‘From all those who have taught me, I have gained wisdom.’
Who is valiant? He who subdued his [natural] inclination, as it is stated: ‘A patient person is better than a mighty man, and he who masters his spirit is better than one who conquers a city.’
Who is rich? He who is happy with his portion, as it is stated: ‘When you eat of the labor of your hands, you will be happy, and it will be good for you.’ ‘You will be happy’— in this world;’it will be good for you’ - in the World to Come.
Who is honored? He who honors others, as is stated: ‘I will honor those who honor me…’ — Ben Zoma The Ethics of the Fathers

wtf even is hermeticism? I heard of a comic book that showcases hermeticism, and it turns out it was mostly cabala and some stuff about higher dimensions, and the fuzzy line between stories and reality.
The thing about the fuzzy line between stories and reality cropped up in a youtuber's analysis of a different comic book series that revolved around hermeticism, like empowering yourself by telling a story.
Is it like, tricking reality into being a different way by acting on the basis of the Nous?? Is that how Hermes Trismegistus became a god, by ascending to and becoming one with the Nous/Monad/whatever?
If he never existed, the stories about him created him, on the basis of the Nous?
Hermetica is a body of ancient texts attributed to Legendary Sage Hermes Trismegistus. They're extremely difficult to date, and you see guesses anywhere from the 4th century BCE to the 4th century CE.
Hermeticism is quite eclectic. It exists as a blend of Greek, Egyptian, and Jewish, and other north-African mythologies and philosophies all rolled into one. The important thing to remember, is that Trismegistus is portrayed as being the source of all wisdom ever forever. All knowledge came from him. Everything cool or interesting about Egyptian, Greek, or Jewish theology is supposed to be his doing.
Hermeticism is a blend of several different religious currents that would be difficult to summarize in a tumblr post, but Hermetic doctrine is honestly less important than HOW Hermeticism syncretizes these disparate currents into a single theology. Its VERY good at sniffing out similarities between theologies, and gluing them together. Additionally, it really likes math. Hermeticism is really good at using math and science to reinforce its mythology.
So when people say "Hermetic" they generally mean one of three things:
1 - Classical Hermetica, as in the ancient body of work attributed to Hermes Trismegistus.
2 - Renaissance Hermetica. The theology was lost for a hot minute, and reintroduced to Europe in the 15th century via a weird Italian named Ludovico Lazzarelli. This was the first guy to identify as a "Hermetic Christian." (There were also some Islamic mystics around the 8th-10th century who really liked Hermetica, but they're oddballs even by the standards of Islamic mystics. #isma-ilimoment)
3 - "Neo-Hermeticism" This is the version of Hermetica that came back in the 17th-18th century. This is where you got folks like the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, who rediscovered just how good Hermetic theology was as a conceptual mortar. They just went hog-wild with it. That's where you get "Hermetic Quabbala." Europe at the time had just seen an explosion of interest in ancient Egypt, and thats why a lot of Quabbalistic texts have a bunch of Egyptian stuff.
So the stuff about higher dimensions and the lines between reality and fiction? That sounds like 1970s Chaos Magic, which itself was highly influenced by Hermetica, specifically Neo-Hermeticism.
As for the nature of Trismegistus himself, even classical Hermetica has like nine different backstories for him. Depending on the text, hes Hermes, Thoth, a combination of Hermes and Thoth, a normal sage who was very wise, a man who achieved godhood, the tutor of Moses, etc, etc. There's no set mythology for Trismegistus beyond "Legendary Sage of Sages."
I'm gonna plug my patreon here because I'm writing about Trismegistus in an alchemical context on Patreon right now.

Famous Jewish royalty and nobility as Disney Princesses:
Tumblr media
Growing up, I loved Disney Princesses, but I never saw any representation of Jewish princesses. Which was a shame, because I grew up with stories of strong Jewish women, I just never got to see their stories in mainstream media. I have two younger sisters, and I wish they could grow up seeing just one Disney Princess from our culture and heritage. So, being an artist, I decided to take the five classic white princesses, and redesign them to be five strong Jewish royalty and nobility. I decided to represent a large swath of time periods and locations, just like Disney Princess stories cover different time periods and locations, and to celebrate the diversity of Jewish history. So, let's go!
Tumblr media
Queen Esther
For Cinderella, I chose to depict Queen Esther, because they both share themes of concealing one's identity. Esther is the heroine of Megillat Esther, a book in the Tanakh. She was forced to become the wife of the Persian king Achashverosh, but because of it she was able to save the Jewish people from genocide at the hands of Haman. Queen Esther might be a "typical" choice, but I think that not many people truly appreciate her and her story, despite how well-known it is.
Tumblr media
Qasmuna
For Belle, I chose the poet Qasmuna, because Belle is a studious woman, and Qasmuna was a scholar and a poet. Qasmuna was an Arabic-language Andalusian poet during the middle ages. Not much is known about her, but she is one of the very few recorded Jewish Arabic-language poets of her time. Some sources attribute her to having been the vizier Shmuel HaNagid (Samuel Ibn Nagrillah)'s daughter, making her the closest to royalty as was possible for a Dhimmi at the time. I depicted her wearing lavish clothing, but also wearing a yellow shawl and a gold calf necklace to signify her Dhimmitude.
Tumblr media
Licoricia of Winchester
For Aurora, I chose to depict Licoricia of Winchester since Disney's Sleeping Beauty takes place in England. Licoricia was a 13th century English businesswoman and community leader. She funded and lent money to prominent gentile figures at the time, including King Henry III. She is considered one of the most influencial Jewish women in her time. She was murdured, possibly in a robbery, but her murderer had never been found or held accountable. I based her outfit off of the recently unvailed statue of her in Winchester, England.
Tumblr media
Queen of Sheba
For Ariel, I chose to depict the Queen of Sheba, since they both traveled long ways to a different place. The Queen of Sheba is mentioned in the Tanakh and Apocrypha, as well as folktales. She traveled to the Kingdom of Israel to meet King Shlomo and test his wisdom. Many have attributed her to being the woman voice in Shlomo's Song of Songs. She was a powerful and wealthy leader, and almost managed to best Shlomo in knowledge. According to tradition, she converted to Judaism and travled back to Ethiopia and led her people towards Judaism.
Tumblr media
Queen Shelmazion
For Snow White, I chose to depict Queen Shelamzion. Queen Shelamzion was one of the last independent Jewish rulers of Judea before the total Roman takeover. Roman sources absolutely smeared her name, likely because Shelamzion was a powerful Jewish woman who opposed the Roman occupation. However, Shelamzion was a good rular, who attempted to make peace among her people, and is credited with saving seventy sages from Roman slaughter. It is said that because of her righteousness, during her rule, it rained only on Shabbat so that farmers would not miss out on needed worktime due to the rain, since they weren't working on Shabbat anyway, and that the harvest in Judea were always bountiful.
I hope you learned something and appreciate my depictions of Jewish Disney Princesses :)
I have a ko-fi if you'd like to tip, but there's absolutely no obligation.

I’m always a bit nervous to talk about being Jewish on the internet. In part, I’m afraid of getting outright antisemitic harassment, and in part it’s because a lot of positive discussion of Judaism ends up getting hijacked by oblivious goyim who turn the discussion sour, no matter how well-meaning they might be.
So, it makes me really happy to see you writing openly and unabashedly about being jewish. Whether you’re writing from a place of celebration, social-media-exasperation, sorrow, joy, education, frustration, or any of them at once, it’s always good to see people talking openly. I’m starting to think that I could follow your example, and be a bit less anxious.
I know I’m just a tumblr stranger, but I want say thank you. Even the little things help! :)
aw, thanks for the sweet ask! being jewish was definitely the least and most 'minor' piece of my identity until uhhhh yknow. nazis started being real again. but i remember slamming into this weird realization a couple years ago that i had put a lot of effort into learning to respectfully depict black people, because i wanted to be a thoughtful and conscientious ally, and because i firmly believed that fantasy and science fiction should belong to everyone... but i had never even once thought of drawing a man that looked like my family.
like, i thought i was white. and then i thought, i'm white and jewish. and then i thought, what if i drew this podcast character as jewish? what if i drew him as if he looked like my uncle or my dad or my brother? and then i felt, immediately, reflexively: absolute terror.
generational trauma, growing up in the shadow of the holocaust, living and working in the midwest, you just... you hide that part of yourself. you survive. you don't get loud and proud and angry. you live like a mouse, in the corners, in what space you gnaw out for yourself.
i still don't wear a star of david. so many of my coworkers wear crosses but so many of my coworkers have guns. i think of wearing a gold star around the people who i've already cheerfully told i was gay, and my hands sweat. i think everyone who goes outside with that kind of target on their chest is phenomenally brave.
there is a bone deep terror in me of my own jewishness, of when i'll have to pay for it, of what the bill will be, of what i might do or say that's a little too loud or clumsy or obvious or true, and thus sign my own warrant. jews are so brave and so strong to keep living through all this but like have you seen the midrash? have you seen how many generations of our sages left behind the distilled wisdom of a lifetime and it boiled down to be secret, be safe.
jewish representation is so fucking fraught! the theif, the banker, the pedophile, the goblin, the bones in the oven. we don't often get to tell our own stories, or wear our own faces. and even when we have the opportunity, it's terrifying. we flinch. how jewish is superman, really? our hero, our ubermench, the most famous converso. we joke around, we make coded allusions, we minimize.
it's hard to walk into the spotlight and smile when you don't know if you're in a theater or a prison yard, you know?
so. i don't know. i don't know! sorry to explode on you! i'm going to a christmas party at a bar tomorrow. i live in indiana and work a blue collar job with guys who think trump was a whole lot of fun but invited me specifically and promised to buy me a pint. there'll be ax throwing and free drinks and i'm probably going to have to explain hannukah for the fifty millionth time. second verse, same as the first, a little bit louder and a whole lot worse.
the sages write: be secret, be safe. survive. but even with all that weight, you've got to be brave, you know? i think you know. you can't live your life in the dark. you can't make art from the fetal position.
even the mouse deserves a day out.

ok so this is less a zionism question and more one related to judaism as a whole, but: the hebrew calendar is currently in the year 5784, yeah? but of course, that doesn't necessarily mean jewish history is necessarily over five thousand years old- jesus's birth precedes christianity in its current form by at least a couple of centuries.
but here's the thing- one post, whose actual content i don't recall, happened to mention that jewish history is three thousand years old. This is where my question gets specific enough so that you'd be able to answer it in a tumblr ask.
you see, the author of one of my favourite books of all time, Sun Tzu, is rumored to have served under Hu Lu of the Wu kingdom, which would put his life at about 500-400 b.c.e. Did judaism exist during that time? could Sun Tsu have credibly met a rabbi in his lifetime (ignoring the Huge distance between the levant and china, of course)?
(also, i know like. Very Little about the history of that area so sorry if my question is stupid or offensive in some way. was the Temple already built there and stuff? were there already people keeping kosher? that sort of stuff)
So let’s start here: that post is incorrect. It’s closer to 3500 years, and the reason it’s not more than that is because before that we were still Canaanites. (Torah claims we defeated the Canaanites. The truth is more like “we were a small sect of Canaanites who out-babied all the other Canaanites.”)
As for whether Sun Tzu could have met a rabbi…no, but not because we weren’t around then. Sun Tzu’s life falls smack in the middle of the return to Jerusalem; Judea had an extremely small population at this point (the whole country is estimated at no more than 30,000 people, with only a single city—Jerusalem), but it did exist as a Jewish nation under Persian rule. We were very much around. But rabbinic Judaism—which is the modern form of Judaism, and what people usually mean when they say “Judaism”—didn’t exist until after the fall of the Temple in 70CE led to the end of blood sacrifice, and the beginnings of the concept of what we today call “rabbis” didn’t exist until the mid-100s BCE. We do have some men older than that who we call “rabbi” sometimes in modern discussion, but this isn’t any kind of official title—it’s more a mark of respect for their great wisdom and learning (like having an honorary doctorate degree). Far more commonly, these men are called the sages, or were kings.
That isn’t to say there’s no chance of Sun Tzu having met influential figures in Judaism, however. Torah was first being written down right around the time he lived, and it so happens that a lot of Jews were in Babylon at the time. Depending on how far he traveled (if he did), he could absolutely have met some of the Jewish figures codifying Torah and the Mishnah, and since some of our earliest fragments of Torah are written on papyrus rather than parchment, it’s even possible he read portions of it. This is doubly true because Israel-Judea is a linchpin between three separate continents: Europe, Africa, and Asia-by-way-of-the-south (nobody was crossing the Alps in 400BCE). That’s why our particular patch has been so fought over throughout history—for most of history, he who controlled Jerusalem controlled international trade. Could some of our writings have been included in a trade headed east? Absolutely. It wouldn’t even be that weird for a few stray copies to have not survived—keeping in mind how many more forms of media and record we have today than we’ve had throughout history, and how much easier it is to make those records, it is still estimated that over 99% of all media and records made in human history are permanently lost. Yeah, totally, Sun Tzu could’ve been like “are there wise men in these western countries? Bring me their writings” and read them and gone “huh, neat, I’ll have to think about that” and then because his scrolls got eaten by bugs and he didn’t use MLA format nobody would ever know. It’s extremely likely that’s happened with many writings from many places throughout history. And yes—it’s equally possible that a few stray Jews became merchants or great travelers and made their way to China and we don’t know because their publicity agents sucked. That is, unfortunately, the case with most of history. We find half a dozen puzzle pieces from a picture we know must contain at least five thousand pieces and we’ve got to reconstruct what it looked like and hope a seventh piece turns up somewhere. So is it likely Sun Tzu met Jews? Not at all. Is it impossible? Absolutely not.
Now as for what Jews were doing at the time…first, I’m going to say the idea that ancient Jews all did exactly as Torah said to do all the time is a lovely fairy tale. I think those of us who did most of our study of the ancient world in sixth grade during our Egypt phases tend to forget that then as now, people were people everywhere you went, and “the [insert ancient race here] people believed ________” is a convenient oversimplification. There would have been varying degrees of observance just like there are today, and I suspect that’s even more true in the peasant class; you’re not making your kids go hungry so you can sacrifice an expensive calf. But this WAS the period when we started getting a unified “this is what we are supposed to do, here, we wrote it down for you” practice, so here are some examples:
1) this is the period when the Jewish pantheon—yes, that was a thing—got collapsed into a single god, the one we now call the One G-d, Adonai. (Yes, the one with the Y-name, no, I’m not saying it.) This is why in some portions of Torah G-d is referred to as Elohim—El was originally another god. The “im” ending is a plural.
2) the rules of Temple sacrifice were formally codified. This isn’t to say it was a free-for-all before this time, but your options were…squishier, so to speak.
3) THE RULES OF KASHRUUUUUUUUUT this is when all of that stuff got written down and formalized. Before this things like not eating pork would have existed, but they would have been more of a cultural taboo than a religious law. This probably reflects why some parts of kashrut, or kosher, laws are so weird in Torah. Like—it tells you some birds are kosher and some aren’t, but it’s super vague on which is which. That makes a lot more sense if “everybody knew” what was and wasn’t taboo. Sort of like how if you open a cookbook and see a recipe asking for two eggs you automatically look for a chicken, not a goose.
4) a lot of laws just didn’t exist yet, or didn’t exist in their modern form. For example, the law against mixing meat and dairy at this point applied only to mammals, and it referred only to how it was cooked. You couldn’t cook an animal in its own mother’s milk. If the ancient Judeans had had ancient chicken alfredo, that would’ve been fine. The rabbis of Talmud (by that point they were actual rabbis) expanded this law due to a superseding law whose name I can’t remember at the moment but the idea of that law is “don’t do anything that could look like you’re breaking Jewish law even if you’re not.” Since you can’t necessarily tell what a meat is without tasting it, or what kind of milk a dairy product has come from without tasting it, the expanded law says “just don’t eat meat and dairy together at all, it looks bad.” Other laws that exist now but didn’t then include the creation of an eruv and all laws surrounding Chanukkah, which celebrates events that didn’t occur until the 300s.
So TL; dr: yes, in theory Sun Tzu could have met Jews, or at least read our earliest writings; the Temple existed (although at that precise moment in time it was very small and not at all grand); and the laws of Judaism-as-we-know-it were just being formalized after a thousand years of oral tradition, so we were doing some stuff and not other stuff.

okay so i was reading the wikipedia article "jews as the chosen people" and there's this section, which starts with
According to the Rabbis, "Israel is of all nations the most willful or headstrong one, and the Torah was to give it the right scope and power of resistance, or else the world could not have withstood its fierceness."
which is kind of a fun post. its like rock lee and the training weights (well not really). anyway this seemed really odd so i checked the source, its bezah 25b, which is a section of the mishnah (called egg cuz thats the first word), anyway i went there and its kind of bizarre? its like, rules about what to eat but theyre mixed together with metaphors about god and the nature of the religion? its confusing and strange. the section this is from is more focused thogh:
The Gemara considers another aspect of the character of the Jewish people. It is taught in a baraitain the name of Rabbi Meir: For what reason was the Torah given to the Jewish people? It is because they are impudent, and Torah study will weaken and humble them. A Sage of the school of Rabbi Yishmael taught the following with regard to the verse: “From His right hand went a fiery law for them” (Deuteronomy 33:2); The Holy One, Blessed be He, said: Based on their nature and character, these people, the Jews, are fit to be given a fiery law, a hard and scorching faith. Some say a different version of this baraita: The ways and nature of these people, the Jews, are like fire, as, were it not for the fact that the Torah was given to the Jewish people, whose study and observance restrains them, no nation or tongue could withstand them.
And this is the same as what Rabbi Shimon ben Lakish said: There are three impudent ones: The Jewish people among the nations; the dog among animals; and the rooster among birds. And some say: Also the goat among small cattle. And some say: Also the caper bush among trees.
(side note: the dog is surely one of the least impudent animals. they can be trained, almost uniquely so! maybe they used to be more impudent)
The Nation of Israel is likened to the olive. Just as this fruit yields its precious oil only after being much pressed and squeezed, so Israel's destiny is one of great oppression and hardship, in order that it may thereby give forth its illuminating wisdom.[27] Poverty is the quality most befitting Israel as the chosen people.[28] Only on account of its good works is Israel among the nations "as the lily among thorns",[29] or "as wheat among the chaff."[30][31]
other ways jewish people are like olives: mediterranean. olive skin arguably. salty. mostly water by mass

I think perhaps the most radical idea I have, as a theist, is the notion that there are no spiritual masters and no souls that are superior.
Because, really, in my mind, believing that there are superior souls leads us the the conclusion that there are inferior ones, too.
And really, inferior or superior in what regard?
In wisdom? In power? In what? And what consequence? Are those inferior people individuals we simply do not need to give our attention, notice, or time? The people whose voices simply don't matter? And how will most people decide? Probably, they'll just assign spiritual inferiority to whomever they already ascribe general inferiority, IE, those whom they oppress.
"Who is Wise? One Who Learns from All People." (Ethics of the Fathers, Pirkei Avot 4:1)
I would propose to you that every person has a different type of wisdom. No one's voice is meaningless. No one's perspective is utterly without merit. Some people are evil, and you do need to take that into account. However, there is no one, I would posit, that has nothing to teach you.
Moreover, look at mythology. So often, the gods are disguised as humans, and no one is the wiser. Zeus disguised himself as a beggar. Demeter applied for a job as a nanny.
And I would go so far as to say that gods are not superior in any absolute sense, but rather, they highly developed wisdom of a very particular type.
This applies even to Hashem, who may be able to wright realities from void, but spent thousands of years relying upon the common sense of the Jewish people, and upon prophets, and sages.
When we cease to put our gods on pedestals, we also cease to push them away from ourselves. Questioning is engagement, and when we hear a voice we cannot question, we are not in relationship with that voice. It's background noise, just as much as the authoritative voice on the TV telling you to buy this or that product.
And for that reason, the Zohar tells us that our questions rise before Hashem as incense.
Our job is not to venerate, or "respect," but to engage, so that we can gain wisdom, and share it.
Be fearless before whatever god or gods you believe in. They will love you for it.

Jewish Tradition vs $ionism
“Behold- to fear he Master is Wisdom, And to depart from evil is Understanding” (Iyyov/Job 28:28)
In the Torah, Talmud, Rishonim, and the Kabbalah of our Fathers, ‘the Ends’ do not ‘Justify the Means’. Only through the proper means can ends be achieved. We learn this from many verses [such as the rejection of Israel’s sacrifices and observances on account of their sin]:
"כִּי אִם-תַּעֲלוּ-לִי עֹלוֹת וּמִנְחֹתֵיכֶם, לֹא אֶרְצֶה; וְשֶׁלֶם מְרִיאֵיכֶם, לֹא אַבִּיט"
“Yea, though you offer me burnt-offerings and your meal-offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace-offerings of your fat beasts.” (Amos 5:22)
“Bring no more vain oblations; it is an offering of abomination unto Me; new moon and sabbath, the holding of convocations--I cannot endure iniquity along with the solemn assembly.”
(Isaiah 1:13)
“And you have brought that which was taken by violence, and the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering; should I accept this of your hand? says HaShem”   (Malachi 1:13)
And this principle underlies many Talmudic discussions, such as what R. Yohanon said in the name of R. Shimon Ben Yahoi on waving a stolen lulav.
“[It is unfit] because it is a mitzvah that comes [fulfilled] by means of a transgression.”
(Sukka 30a)
“Similarly, an etrog which is not orlah, or money given to charity that has not been acquired through theft and their like. For Orlah is of the three completely unclean kelipot that can never ascend into holiness, as is written in Etz Chaim [Shaar 49 ch.2]. Similarly, [this applies to] any precept involving a transgression, heaven forfend.” (Likkutei Amarim ch.37)
"וּכְמַאֲמַר רַבּוֹתֵינוּ־זִכְרוֹנָם־לִבְרָכָה
'לֹא הוּכְשַׁר לִמְלֶאכֶת שָׁמַיִם אֶלָּא טְהוֹרִים וּמוּתָּרִים בְּפִיךָ':"
“As our Sages state: ‘For the ‘work of heaven’ [i.e., mitzvah objects] only that which is pure and permissible to eat may be used.” (Likutei Amarim ch.37, Shabbat 28b)
Furthermore,  this principle also is critical to the discussions of redemption and reward discussed in the Mishnah,
“Ben Azzai said: Be quick in performing a minor commandment as in the case of a major one, and flee from transgression; For one commandment leads to another commandment, and transgression leads to another transgression; For the reward for performing a commandment is another commandment and the reward for committing a transgression is a transgression.” (Avot 4:2)
And the discussions about proper purity of the garments of the soul, such as proper kavanah [determined-focus], these being critical and consequential in the mitzvot performed, and correct passion, and so on.
“And thou shalt love HaShem your G-d with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.” (Devarim/Deuteronomy 6:5)
“But the word is very nigh unto you, in your mouth, and in your heart, that you may do it”. (Devarim/Deuteronomy 30:14)
“Yet, nevertheless, it has been said that prayer or any other blessing, said without kavanah, is like a body without a soul.”
(Likkutei Amarim ch.38; see Yeshuot Meshicho, p12a; Shnei Luchot Habrit, vol.1 p. 249b.)
“Not so in the case of the science of the nations; thereby, one clothes and defiles ChaBaD [Wisdom, Understanding, and Knowledge], which is his Divine soul, with the impurity of the kelipat nogah [the translucent husks, i.e. overdoing the permissible to the point of transgression] contained in those sciences, whither they (the sciences) have fallen, through the “shattering of the vessels,” out of the “hinder-part” of Wisdom of holiness, as is known to the students of the Kabbalah.
“unless one employs them [these sciences] as a useful instrument, viz., as a means of earning a more affluent livelihood with which to be able to serve G-d, or unless he knows how to apply them [the sciences] in the service of G‑d or to his better understanding of His Torah, e.g., [he utilizes mathematics to better understand the laws of the Sanctification of the New Moon.]
“This is the reason why The Rambam and Ramban, of blessed memory, and their peers engaged in them” [in the sciences—since they were able to utilize this knowledge in the service of G‑d and Torah, as physicians committed to healing.] (Likkutei Amarim ch.8)
And the sages have said that all sins, except for a number of them, have a remedy, but the inherently impure sins, such as idolatry, illicit sexual relations, and bloodshed, distance a person from holiness, heaven forbid, as the kabbalists have transmitted.
"הֵם אֲסוּרִים וּקְשׁוּרִים בִּידֵי הַחִיצוֹנִים לְעוֹלָם"
“These are tied and bound by the ‘extraneous forces’ [the kelipot] forever.”  (Likutei Amarim ch.8)
“It follows, then, that the person who does violate G-d’s will is greatly inferior to and more debased than the sitra achara and kelipah, which are called avodah zarah and “other gods”.
" וְהוּא בְּתַכְלִית הַפֵּירוּד מִיִּחוּדוֹ וְאַחְדּוּתוֹ שֶׁל הַקָּדוֹשׁ־בָּרוּךְ־הוּא יוֹתֵר מִמֶּנָּה
וּכְאִלּוּ כּוֹפֵר בְּאַחְדּוּתוֹ יוֹתֵר מִמֶּנָּה חַס וְשָׁלוֹם
“He is separated completely from G‑d’s unity and oneness even more than they are as though denying His unity even more radically than they, Heaven Forfend.
“This is similar to what is written in Etz Chaim, Portal 42, end of ch. 4, that the evil in this corporeal world is the dregs of the coarse kelipot, it is the sediment of the purifying process, and so on.” (Likkutei Amarim ch.24)
It will continue to be  shown, the content and the context of our actions in the world of action have dire consequences, in terms of a Jew’s connection to their Father in Heaven. The principles identified above stem from [combating] the role of the completely impure kelipot in the scheme of redemption, as the kabbalists explain:
[when they will refrain from transgressing] the 365 prohibitions, to restrain the 365 blood vessels of the animal soul in the body so that they do not draw nurture or receive vitality by means of such transgression from any one of the three completely unclean kelipot, from which are derived the 365 Biblical prohibitions, and the Rabbinical prohibitions.
“the vitalizing soul could no longer ascend to G‑d, having been tainted by the impurity of the three impure kelipot, which can never be elevated, but must be nullified and utterly destroyed, as is written, ‘And I shall banish the unclean spirit from the earth’.”
(Likkutei Amarim ch.37, Zechariah 13:2)
And the sins of the entire people of Israel also delay the Messianic Era. For when a person willfully sins, he draws vitality by his own will from the impure husks, becoming a vessel for the husks rather than a vessel for the Holy One, Blessed be He. And since all of Israel is commanded to be 'a light unto the nations', the sin of the world corresponds to the sins of the seed of Israel, according to the status of the husks; they must earn The Messiah through service to G-d, as is learned from all over the Tradition.
"מקדש ראשון מפני מה חרב? מפני ג' דברים שהיו בו: עבודה זרה וגלוי עריות ושפיכות דמים... אבל מקדש שני, שהיו עוסקין בתורה ובמצות וגמילות חסדים - מפני מה חרב? מפני שהיתה בו שנאת חנם. ללמדך ששקולה שנאת חנם כנגד שלש עבירות עבודה זרה, גלוי עריות ושפיכות דמים
“Why was the First Temple destroyed? Because of three things which prevailed there: idolatry, immorality, and bloodshed... But why was the Second Temple destroyed, seeing that in its time they occupied themselves with Torah, mitzvot and acts of kindness? Because baseless hatred prevailed. This teaches you that baseless hatred is equal to the three sins of idolatry, illicit relations and murder.” (Yoma 9b) [The Kingdoms and Temples were taken away as direct result of the sins of the children of Israel]
“Now this ultimate perfection of the Messianic era and [the time of] the resurrection of the dead, meaning the revelation of the Ein Sof-light in this physical world, is dependent on our actions and [divine] service throughout the period of exile. For it is the mitzvah itself that causes i.e., creates its reward.” (Likutei Amarim ch.37, Avot 4:2)
“It follows, then, that the person who does violate G‑d’s will is greatly inferior to and more debased than the sitra achara and kelipah, which are called avodah zarah and “other gods.” He is separated completely from G‑d’s unity and oneness even more than they are as though denying His unity even more radically than they, G‑d forbid.” (Likutei Amarim ch.24)
And another important principle to mention now, linked to the previous ones, is the sacred and fundamental principle of the Preservation of Life, whose transgression is extremely severe: For no person can rectify bloodshed without submitting to Justice, as it is written in Parshah Noah, 'Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed, for in the image of G-d He made mankind.' [Genesis 9:6]. Therefore, bloodshed is one of the most impure transgressions, and the Rabbinical tradition is to avoid it at all costs, even unto death, heaven forfend. And in Jewish Law, we are never permitted to kill anyone extra-judicially, and it would be deemed 'willful murder', heaven forfend.

“You shall not kill.” (Shemot/Exodus 20:12)
“One who fatally strikes another party shall be put to death.” (Shemot/Exodus 21:12)
“If any party kills any human being, that person shall be put to death.  (Vayikra/Leviticus 24:1)

“With regard to all other transgressions in the Torah, if a person is told: Transgress this prohibition and you will not be killed, he may transgress that prohibition and not be killed, because the preservation of his own life overrides all of the Torah’s prohibitions. This is the halakha concerning all prohibitions except for  idol worship, forbidden sexual relations, and bloodshed. Concerning those prohibitions, one must allow himself to be killed rather than transgress them.” (Sanhedrin 74a)

“A Sanhedrin that executes once in seven years is characterized as a destructive tribunal.
Rabbi Elazar ben Azarya says: " A Sanhedrin that executes a transgressor once in seventy years”.” (Makkot 1:10)
“True, we find a principle that saving a life overrides other prohibitions, though not the prohibition of idolatry, and similarly, the law sometimes calls for one to commit a transgression rather than be killed.”. (Likkutei Amarim ch.24)
The tradition is clear concerning ‘Jewish’ heretics and atheists, immersed in the wisdom of the nations and in twisted philosophy, who lead other Jews astray into the sitra achara [other side], which is the utterly impure and forbidden kelipah [husks of the hinderside of Holiness], heaven forbid. They must be rebuked and resisted, and this is a commandment, not 'baseless hatred', which we are commanded not to do.

“Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate You?
And do not I strive with those that rise up against You?
I hate them with utmost hatred; I count them my enemies.”
(David HaMelekh, Psalms 139:21-22)

“Rabbi Yishmael said: The fact that the names of G-d in the scrolls of heretics may be burned can be derived through an a fortiori inference: Just as to make peace between a husband and his wife, the Torah says: My name that was written in sanctity shall be erased in the water in the framework of the ordeal of the sota; these, the heretics, who impose jealousy, and hatred, and conflict between the Jewish people and their Father in Heaven, all the more so of them. And with regard to them, the heretics, David said: “For I hate those who hate You, God, and I fight those who rise against You. I hate them with the utmost hatred, they have become enemies to me” [Psalms 139:21–22]. And just as they are not rescued from the fire, neither are they rescued from a rockslide, nor from water, nor from any other matter that destroys them.”
(Shabbat ch. 16)
“As for the statement by King David, peace upon him: “I hate them with a consummate hatred,” (Psalms 139:22) reserving no love for them whatsoever; this refers only to [Jewish] heretics and atheists who have no part in the G‑d of Israel, as stated in the Talmud, top of  ch. 16 Tractate Shabbat.” (Likkutei Amarim ch.32)
"לֹא-תִשְׂנָא אֶת-אָחִיךָ, בִּלְבָבֶךָ;"
“You shall not hate your brother in your heart.” (Vayikra/Leviticus 19:17)

“He came before Rabbi Hillel. He converted him and said to him: That which is hateful to you do not do to another; that is the entire Torah, and the rest is its interpretation. Go study.”  (Shabbat 31a)
And it should not need expounding, that the tradition confirms the calamity of the Shechinah's [The Divine  Presence] exile due to the sins of the people of Israel, heaven forfend. Every individual of Israel can drive away the Divine Presence with their deeds, heaven forfend.

“...Which is the mystery of the exile of the Shechinah (the Divine Presence), as our Sages have said: “When the Jews were exiled to Edom, the Shechinah went into exile with them” [Megillah 29a]. It is to say, [in terms of] one’s service [to G-d], this statement means that when one acts like “Edom,” the embodiment of evil, when he sins, he degrades and draws down to there [to Edom, to the kelipot] the Divine spark which vitalizes his nefesh, ruach, and neshamah within him [with G‑dly, holy life; In this way, the Shechinah within him is drawn into exile]. What constitutes “exile” in this case is the fact that the Divine spark gives life to his G‑dly soul, which is clothed in the animal soul of kelipah situated in the left part of his heart, and as long as he remains wicked, the animal soul reigns over him, dominating his “small city” [body, in distinction to the Divine soul reigning over the body]. Thus, the Divine spark within his G‑dly soul is in exile in the kelipah of his animal soul.”  (Likkutei Amarim ch.17)

What can be the end for a nation of Israel that sins and continues to sin, if not further Exile as previously stated? And what can be the Knowledge and Deed of a Jew, if their Wisdom and Understanding are corrupted? And what if a Jew prioritizes the philosophy that 'the end justifies the means', heaven forfend? Would they use their study of the sciences of the nations to aid in the service of HaShem? Or would it be used to justify transgression, sin, Edom, the Other Side, and true evil?

Rabbi Elai said: In three matters a person’s true character is ascertained; in his cup, [i.e., his behavior when he drinks;] in his pocket, [i.e., his conduct in his financial dealings with other people;] and in his anger. And some say: A person also reveals his real nature in his laughter. (Eruvin 65a)
“A man who invents a terrible explosive does more for peace than a thousand gentle apostles.” -[Father of Political $ionism] Theodor Herzl Diaries, May 1895
“In Paris, then, I gained a freer attitude toward anti-Semitism which I now began to understand historically and make allowances for.” -Herzl May 1895
“However, anti-Semitism, which is a strong and unconscious force among the masses, will not harm the Jews. I consider it to be a movement useful to the Jewish character. It represents the education of a group by the masses, and will perhaps lead to its being absorbed. Education is accomplished only through hard knocks. A Darwinian mimicry will set in.” -Herzl May 1895
“Throughout our two thousand years of dispersion, we have been without unified political leadership. I regard this as our chief misfortune. It has done us more harm than all the persecutions. This is why we have inwardly gone to rack and ruin. For there has been no one to train us to become real men, even if only out of imperial selfishness.” -Herzl 2 Jun 1895
“Out of this proletariat of intellectuals I shall form the general staff and the cadres of the army which is to seek, discover, and take over the land.” -Herzl 3 Jun 1895
“We shall probably model the constitution after that of Venice” -Herzl 7 Jun 1985
“German Theatre, International Theatre, Operas, Operettas, circuses, Cafe Champs Elysees” -Herzl 7 Jun 1985
“We must not only copy Paris, Florence, etc, but seek a Jewish style expressive of relief and liberty” -Herzl 8 Jun 1895
“The anti-Semites will become our most dependable friends, the anti-Semitic countries our allies.” -Herzl 12 Jun 1895
“By “G-d” I understand the Will to Good! The omnipresent, infinite, omnipotent, eternal Will to Good, which does not immediately prevail everywhere but is always victorious in the end. For which Evil, too, is but a means. How and why, for example, does the Will to Good permit epidemics to exist? Because epidemics cause musty old cities to be torn down and new, bright, healthful cities to come into being, with inhabitants who draw a freer breath. Thus, anti-Semitism, too, probably contains the divine Will to Good, because it forces us to close ranks, unites us through pressure, and through our unity will make us free. “From the very start of $ionism, prominent Jewish leaders viewed it as a rejection of Judaism itself. The chief rabbi of Vienna, Moritz Gudemann, denounced the mirage of Jewish nationalism. “Belief in one G-d was the unifying factor for Jews,” he declared, and $ionism was [and is] incompatible with Judaism’s teachings.” -WRMEA, Israel and Judaism by Allan C. Brownfeld
“In 1929, Orthodox Rabbi Aaron Samuel Tamarat wrote that the very idea of a sovereign Jewish state as a spiritual center was “a contradiction to Judaism’s ultimate purpose.” He declared, “Judaism at root is not some religious concentration which may be localized or situated in a single territory. Neither is Judaism a ‘nationality,’ in the sense of modern nationalism, fit to be woven into the three folded-ness of ‘homeland, Army, and heroic songs.’ No, Judaism is Torah, ethics and exaltation of spirit. If Judaism is truly Torah, then it cannot be reduced to the confines of any particular territory. For as Scripture said of Torah, ‘Its measure is greater than the earth.’(Iyyov/Job 11:9)” -WRMEA, Israel and Judaism by Allan C. Brownfeld
“One of the leading Jewish theologians of the 20th century, Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel, who marched with the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. for civil rights for all people, said, “Judaism is not a religion of space and does not worship the soil. So, too, the State of Israel is not the climax of Jewish history, but a test of the integrity of the Jewish people and the competence of Israel.”-WRMEA, Israel and Judaism by Allan C. Brownfeld
“Rabbi Israel Meir Kagan [Chofetz Chaim] received protests from many rabbis concerning his silence and lack of objection against the leaders of the $ionist movement as well as against the mocking of religion. By nature, Kagan was a man who avoided quarrels, and in the dispute over the $ionist movement he tried to avert further altercation. Nevertheless, "his heart was broken upon hearing that the leaders of $ionism [were] leading Jews astray in the colonies in Palestine and at home from the ways of the Torah; [...] Kagan's stand was this: He denied "young scholarly-religious students under his jurisdiction [permission] to follow in the footsteps of the irreligious $ionist leaders”,  [Lester Samuel Eckman , The history of the Musar movement, 1840–1945]
"It was not worthwhile to become another Albania, or even another Belgium, after nineteen centuries of suffering. A state must be established on Torah foundations." [Chofetz Chaim]

“On June 27 Miriam Adelson, wife of billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson and  major contributor to Trump’s campaign, as well as  Birthright Israel and $ionist causes, proposed that the story of Donald Trump, “hero and patriot,” ought to be added to the Bible. Her article, entitled “A Time of Miracles,” appeared in the Israeli daily newspaper Israel Hayom, which her husband owns and she publishes. The paper supports Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, opposes the creation of a Palestinian state and supports annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank. -WRMEA, Israel and Judaism by Allan C. “U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, who is an ally of the Israeli settler movement and opposes the creation of a Palestinian state, referred to the relationship between the [apartheids] U.S. and Israel as an “altar of holiness” and the new U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem as a “shrine.” At a ceremony in Jerusalem, he declared that [apartheid] Israel “was on the side of God.” The U.S. and Israel, he said, should grow even closer, which would be a sign of “holiness.”” -WRMEA, Israel and Judaism by Allan C. Would they care to practice sexual morality, or fall into the completely impure and illicit sexual activities?
Jewish Community Watch says 32 pedophiles moved from countries around the world to Israel in the past decade from 2016. Since 2014, more than 60 people accused of child sex abuse have evaded justice in the US and fled, making the Israeli regime a sanctuary for sex offenders.  “Many of the accused pedophiles go on to abuse children in Israel, such as the case of Jimmy Julius Karow. Karow sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl in Oregon in 2000, but before being indicted in the US, he converted to Judaism and fled to Israel. Two years later, he was convicted of child molestation in an Israeli court for a separate case, and was released from prison after serving time. In 2021, Karow was sentenced to 13 years in prison in Israel for raping an Israeli child, but he is yet to receive justice for his assault on the 9-year-old American girl, whose family has demanded for him to be extradited to the US with no luck thus far. Karow had been successfully evading authorities in the US and Israel for over two decades, and he is not alone.  “Another example is a Brooklyn Rabbi who sexually assaulted three young relatives as young as five years old, and was able to evade justice in Israel for over a decade. Rabbi Gershon Kranczer, who was also a former Yeshiva school principal, abused the young girls from the 1990s through the late 2000s, and fled to Israel the same day his abuse was reported in 2010. He also changed his name and managed to evade capture for 10 years. “Jewish sex offenders who obtain Israeli citizenship through the Law of Return, are not under any restrictions in Israel despite the restrictions they face in the countries where the sexual offenses were committed. Precariously, Israel also has a private national sex offender registry which only the Israeli police and prison services can access. This list, however, only documents convictions in Israel, and does not show their previous convictions. Therefore, pedophiles can still obtain a “Letter of Good Standing” from the police, clearing them to work in schools with children. In addition to this, there is no obligation in Israel to even warn residents about the presence of sex offenders in the community, making it easier for child abusers to find sanctuary there. https://tmj.news/israel-pedophilia/ Therefore, Israel has failed to protect it’s own women and children from abusers, p*dophiles, and r*pists.
“Currently, the age of consent in Israel is 16 for all genders. However, that age of consent can go as low as 14, provided the other sexual partner was no more than three years older and both parties consented. But according to [Avi] Maoz, the Justice Ministry is trying to change this to an age gap of five years.  "A 19-year-old man can have consensual sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl and won't face criminal charges," -Avi Maoz, Knesset Member against this change. www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-741881
“Where do we position, and how can we understand an event in which a Palestinian man was forced to commit a sexual act with a donkey by a border police officer?” (Abu a-Rob 2003)
Rela Mazali's short story “Income Tax, Ramallah” (2019) is a poignant illustration ... It recounts a testimony her partner disclosed to her about what he witnessed during his reserve duty, shortly before the first intifada and when Israel started taxing Palestinians living in the occupied territories. The testimony reveals how a Palestinian man who couldn't pay his family's taxes was allegedly offered to bring his two daughters with him and in return have his debt removed. The man's pleadings did not help. The next time he showed up, he was accompanied by one of his daughters. The soldiers then promptly announced that they were taking a break and will not be receiving anyone. They went with the woman behind a curtain, and the break ended only after both went out. Mazali's partner told her he realized what had happened only once the first came out buttoning his trousers. Mazali's tale-story is not only a testimony of rape and extortion that wasn't filed into any human rights organization. It also exemplifies how sexual violence, how rape, in this case, is tailored into the bureaucracy of the occupation that hunts Palestinians and makes sure—perhaps, especially in cases in which physical force wasn't used—that such an event is more likely to be buried than reported.  www.berghahnjournals.com/view/journals/conflict-and-society/9/1/arcs090105.xml#bib45

Why Is Israel Still Covering Up Extrajudicial Executions Committed by Israel?
“Dead babies, mothers weeping on their children's graves, a gun aimed at a child and bombed-out mosques - these are a few examples of the images Israel Defense Forces soldiers design these days [and have been for decades], to print on shirts they order to mark the end of training, or of field duty. The slogans accompanying the drawings are not exactly anemic either: A T-shirt for infantry snipers bears the inscription "Better use Durex," next to a picture of a dead Palestinian baby, with his weeping mother and a teddy bear beside him. A sharpshooter's T-shirt from the Givati Brigade's Shaked battalion shows a pregnant Palestinian woman with a bull's-eye superimposed on her belly, with the slogan, in English, "1 shot, 2 kills." A "graduation" shirt for those who have completed another snipers course depicts a Palestinian baby, who grows into a combative boy and then an armed adult, with the inscription, "No matter how it begins, we'll put an end to it." www.thepeoplesvoice.org/TPV3/Voices.php/2009/03/26/we-are-the-nazis-of-our-time

“One of the most common questions anyone who has ever written about Palestine or engaged in debate around the Palestinian-Israeli conflict would regularly face is “Why do they [Palestinians] teach their children to hate?” This question is a favoured rhetorical tool of the pro-Israel propagandists because it neatly encapsulates a host of Orientalist and racist implications while never actually making them explicit. By asking this question one is implying that Palestinians do not love their children the way every other culture loves theirs. The question dehumanizes Palestinians and casts them as other and alien, in effect blaming them for their own oppression. “...Another problem is the fact that “The daughters of Israel” is seen to represent only Jewish Israelis and not Palestinian citizens of Israel, even though around twenty per cent of Israelis are in fact Palestinian. Palestinians are thus marginalised and excluded. They are not seen to be legitimate citizens of the state of Israel. They are outsiders and alien to the [Apartheid] of Israel. “...The fourth and final trope is the representation of Palestinians as a demographic threat. There is nothing new in this statement, it is however extremely problematic [AND ANTI-SEMITIC]. The portrayal of Palestinians as a demographic threat is very commonplace in Israeli political discourse. While this description can be traced back the early years of the Israeli state, It was first the Koenig Memorandum in 1976 and then Benjamin Netanyahu in 2003 who mainstreamed the use of the term in reference to the Palestinian citizens of Israel. www.ceasefiremagazine.co.uk/israelis-teach-children-hate/

"In the name of the Israel Settlement, these last three months have been a profound and intentional sin against our fathers' teaching, the Preservation of Life. With thirty thousand human souls perishing in this period, impurity will spread upon the entire faith and upon the innocent. Over half of the slain in Gaza are children.
Not only this, but a Wicked and Tyrannical Sanhedrin that decrees the mass extermination of peoples without just trial in every decade, and commands their execution. The last hospital in Gaza has been completely destroyed. Entire families have been utterly obliterated.
Palestinians cannot breed within themselves a hatred for apartheid Israel more than apartheid Israel itself does. The continuous abuses and sickening tortures inflicted upon the Palestinians they capture still overshadow and defile any transgressions the Palestinians have committed, in any political group. The number of people living in torture and dying from torture in Israeli detention was the central factor in the world's radicalization against Israel before October 7th, and these deaths too must be counted as willful murder. For it justifies its torture methods with a department of physicians, an ugly science of the nations, a disgrace and a perversion of science that is being further driven into evil rather than Holiness. The fact is that in every single decade of the history of Israel, there are cases, showing that this is not a new phenomenon.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, said HaShem of hosts,
that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land,
and they shall no more be remembered;
and also I will cause the prophets
[those who protest against Edom: the Intermediates/Beinonim and the Righteous/Tzadikim]
and the unclean spirit [bound together with the Edom-obsessed Fully Wicked/Rashaim]
to pass out of the land.” (Zechariah 13:2)
“Indeed, the  beginning of the mitzvah of Teshuvah (Return/Repentance) and its core is a true and wholehearted return to G-d”. (Iggaret HaTeshuvah ch. 4)
“However, the true and direct path to the lower level of teshuvah (return or repentance), …, involves two general elements.
“The first is to awaken supreme compassion from the Source of mercy for one’s Divine spirit and soul, ... “As the verse states: ‘He shall return to G-d, and He will have compassion for him’
(Isaiah 55:7) …
“The second element [in one’s preparation for a true and direct path to repentance] is to crush and subdue the kelipah and sitra achara [the otherside, evil]” (Iggaret HaTeshuvah Ch.7)
“The mind, by virtue of its inherent nature, is master over the left part of the heart [the center of passion], the seat of the animal soul, whence come one’s mundane desires and evil thoughts, and over the mouth and the other bodily organs, which are the instruments of action.
“This is true of everyone except he who is truly wicked [that is, not the beinoni/intermediate who is considered “like a rasha/wicked person” but one who is truly a rasha; in his case, it cannot be said that his mind is master over his heart].
“Like our Sages state that “the wicked are under the control of their heart” (Bereishit Rabbah /Genesis Lot 34:11, 67:7), but their heart is not under their control at all—they are unable to master the desires of their heart, for their mind has no active control over it. This is a punishment for the enormity and potency of their sinfulness.
“The Torah does not speak of the dead, that is, those wicked ones who are considered dead even during their lifetime. Indeed, it is impossible for the wicked to begin to serve G‑d, that is, to observe the mitzvot out of a feeling of love and fear of G-d, without first repenting for their past.
“In order to shatter the kelipot that were made by their sins, which form a sundering curtain and an “iron wall” that interposes between them and their Father in Heaven, By means of contriteness of heart and bitterness of soul over one’s sins,
“As the Zohar interprets the verse “The sacrifices to G-d are a broken spirit, a broken and contrite heart…” (Tehilim/Psalms 51:18) For through one’s breaking his heart, the unclean spirit of the sitra achara is broken,
“(See Zohar on Parshat Pinchas, p. 240, and on Parashat Vayikra, p. 8 and p. 5a, and the commentary of Rabbi Moshe Zacuto thereon).
“This is the lower category of repentance, whereby the lower letter hey [the final letter of the name 4 letter name of G-d ‘Havaya’, representing the Divine Presence,] is raised up from its fall into the forces of evil [the kelipot],
“Which is the mystery of the Shechinah (the Divine Presence and Revelation of The Holy One in our World) in exile, as our Sages have said: “When the Jews were exiled to Edom, the Shechinah went into exile with thsem.”
“In a spiritual sense, in terms of one’s service to G‑d, this statement means that when one acts like “Edom,” the embodiment of evil, when he sins, he degrades and draws down to Edom, [to the kelipot,] the Divine spark which vitalizes his nefesh, ruach, and neshamah [with G‑dly, holy life. In this way, the Shechinah] within him [is drawn into exile.]
“What constitutes “exile” in this case is the fact that the Divine spark gives life to his G‑dly soul, which is clothed in the animal soul of kelipah situated in the left part of his heart, and as long as he remains wicked, the animal soul reigns over him, dominating his “small city,” [his body]. Thus, the Divine spark within his G‑dly soul is in exile in the kelipah of his animal soul, and nefesh, ruach, and neshamah are thus held captive in exile under it.
“When the heart of the rasha is broken within him and thereby, the spirit of uncleanliness and of the sitra achara are broken [and the forces of evil]  dispersed,
then [the lower hey of the Divine Name, the Shechinah]—rises from its fall and stands firm, as discussed elsewhere [such as Zohar,  Iggaret HaTeshuvah, Reishit Chokmah, etc].

This is the halakha concerning all prohibitions except for  idol worship, forbidden sexual relations, and bloodshed. Concerning those prohibitions, one must allow himself to be killed rather than transgress them.” (Sanhedrin 74a)

My conception of God, is, after all, Spinozistic and also resembles the natural philosophy of the Monists.” -Herzl 14 Aug 1895 [Evil to be permitted to be committed by people?]

But the rabbis will be pillars of my organization and I shall honor them for it. They will arouse the people, instruct them on the boats, and enlighten them on the other side.
The student of the Chofetz Chaim, Rabbi Elchanon Wasserman, saw Nationalism as a direct threat to the status of Torah as the foundational factor of Jewish life. [Kovetz Maamarim].
The Rape-culture evident in decades old, still ongoing Israeli Soldier Custom clothing tradition: “There are also plenty of shirts with blatant sexual messages. Will they take measures to do not that which is hateful unto their fellow and their neighbor, for this is the commandment? Will they govern in a nonviolent and G-dly way?

“Peled-Elhanan’s book was a major study of 17 Israeli school textbooks on history, geography and civic studies. As you can see from what she says in the interview above, she came to some stark conclusions. “She explained that not a single one of the schoolbooks included “any positive cultural or social aspect of Palestinian life-world: neither literature nor poetry, neither history nor agriculture, neither art nor architecture, neither customs nor traditions are ever mentioned.” “Of the rare times that Palestinians are mentioned, it is in an overwhelmingly negative and stereotypical fashion: “all [the books] represent [Palestinians] in racist icons or demeaning classificatory images such as terrorists, refugees and primitive farmers — the three ‘problems’ they constitute for [Apartheid and European-Colonizing-outpost-in-the-East] Israel.” www.middleeastmonitor.com/20190726-how-israel-teaches-its-children-to-hate/ [The Palestinians literally obey the agricultural law of the land, as described in Bereishis/Genesis, whereas Apartheid Israel does not, bringing in European and American crops.

Idolatry, Illicit Sexual Relations, Bloodshed, and Baseless Hate: their sins have long reaching consequences that will even demerit the Children of Israel from deserving the Messianic Age, driving the Children of Israel further into exile, and with it, the Divine Presence into Exile as well. G-d fearing Jews as well as all  G-d fearing people must condemn the $ionists, and repent of ever having supported it and not rebuked it, as it written,
"לֹֽא־תִשְׂנָ֥א אֶת־אָחִ֖יךָ בִּלְבָבֶ֑ךָ הוֹכֵ֤חַ תּוֹכִ֨יחַ֙ אֶת־עֲמִיתֶ֔ךָ וְלֹֽא־תִשָּׂ֥א עָלָ֖יו חֵֽטְא"

There is ever only one possible way forward, no matter how ugly things may seem to be, no matter how defiled and impure the garments of the soul of Israel may become. For through G-d’s Will, Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, will G-d’s ends be fulfilled. The Two kinds of Repentance, as explained in Likkutei Amarim and elaborated in Iggaret HaTeshuvah. This much is clear: $ionists must repent of the wicked intrinsic in $ionism, for behold-
“And it shall come to pass in that day, said HaShem of hosts,
that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land,
and they shall no more be remembered;
and also I will cause the prophets

The problem with "don't mix seeds" is everyone took that one and ran with it. And that caused massive ecological destruction all over the world.
Ancient people didn't have all the answers because they were human, too, just like us.
took that and ran with that is a Jewish problem. fun example- many Russian Jews who observe Kashrut do not eat lentil in Passover due to the fear it was in the same bag as wheat.
look, you do not go against he word of sages. but the sages are not here to tell us we interoperate them wrong...
the trick with ancient wisdom is to understand the context. take the useful stuff and ignore the rest.

"American Civil Religion" is grossly fascinating as a concept to me. Its shitty. It's fascist. I was raised in it. It still holds power over me in ways I hate. But It's inherently goofy... the only people really inducted Into it are like boy scouts and kids who were made to do student government in elementary school. Despite being obviously Christian the adherence to the first ammendment has turned it almost secular and, I think I could say, nontrinitarian? Like there's really only the One God in American Civil religion and as long as you are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, or otherwise Very Monotheistic its okay to worship him however you want. "jesus" isn't really a factor in it, just "God". Being an Athiest, however, even a culturally Christian one, is less acceptable. The flag is a holy icon, one with an intricate series of Rituals only rrally enforced by the initiated. Native Americans are treated like wise sages whose wisdom was passed on directly to the founding fathers (and I should note my absolute distaste in this practice here-- American Civil Religion really is awful in most cases but this one always makes my skin crawl). The military might as well be priests, because all of the "rituals" in American Civil Religion are directly tied to military practice. But that only really extends to officers and the ones in ritual... out of costume soldiers or those in normal combat gear aren't sanctified in the same way. Any career path is lauded, however, at least as Long as you are both upper middle class and providing a direct service to the country. Weirdly it almost sees businessmen as outsiders-- sometimes trustworthy, but the private citizen who isn't involved in the Scouts or VFWs or something are taught to be almost like sheep that one must protect. That's the point of the religion, to protect and serve "America's citizens". Or, more accurately, the state itself, but thats obvious. Actual conservatives and especially rural ones have a much different idea of Patriotism, I think. They don't trust the state, only the soldiers and the land they stole. They also want everyone to be conservatives. They value individual freedoms (as long as you use them to be an evangelical gun toting farmer). Meanwhile in American Civil Religion... you can be a Democrat, you can live in cities. They don't mind, and often do, appeal to the capital L "Liberals". They just want you to respect and revere the senate and capital buildings as places of worship. A different kind of patriotism. The only laws or religious observances seem to be the laws of the federal government itself, and perhaps whatever someone who outranks you tells you to do. I wonder how many people even really grew up with it as their only religious Influence, like I did? Is this what the elite politicians are raised to believe by their elite politician parents? Or do they just grimly control the strings, donating to ROTC programs and performing flag burnings for 90 year old veterans to boost vote numbers? Or is this religion purely for shitheads named Eric whose parents were rich and who could never understand why his attitudes towards money and race and politics were off-putting to his poorer friends? (And the friends who in turn didn't realize yet why Eric's money and spoiledness off-put them so much?) Hopefully the whole damn thing gets dismantled soon enough I will never have to find out, but until that day I will remain distantly intrigued.

Lag Ba Omer
The Counting of the Omer:
According to the Torah (Lev. 23:15), we are obligated to count the 49 days between Passover and Shavu'ot, this is the Counting of the Omer. The counting is intended to remind us of the link between Passover, which commemorates the Exodus, and Shavu'ot, which commemorates the giving of the Torah and helps us remember that liberation from slavery was not complete until we received the Torah. The Omer is a semi-mourning period in which we spiritually cleanse ourselves in preparation for receiving the Torah and haircuts, shaving, listening to instrumental music, or conducting weddings, parties, and dinners with dancing are forbidden.
Lag B'Omer:
Lag is a transliteration of the Hebrew letters לג that represent the number 33. Lag B’Omer is the 33rd day of the counting of the Omer.
On Lag B’Omer, Jews all throughout the world commemorate three events:
1. The cessation of the plague that killed 24,000 of Rabbi Akiva’s students
2. The end of the Bar Kochba rebellion against Roman occupation of Judea
3. The death of an incredible Torah Sage, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai (thought to be the author of the Zohar).
Jewish spirituality, Jewish history and the fight for sovereignty in the Jewish homeland blend into one on Lag B’Omer.
Rabbi Akiva was an ardent supporter of Shimon Bar Kochba, who in 132 C.E. led a ferocious but unsuccessful revolt against Roman rule in Judea. Many of Rabbi Akiva’s students backed the revolt and were killed along with thousands of Judeans when it failed. The Talmudic rabbis, still suffering under Roman rule and cautious about referring openly to past rebellions, may have been hinting at those deaths when they spoke of a plague among Akiva’s students.
Tradition says that, on the date of his death, Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai revealed the deepest secrets of the Kabbalah and thus Lag B’Omer became a day of celebration of the great light (i.e., wisdom) that Bar Yochai brought into the world.
Lag B’Omer is commemorated by bonfires and children playing with bow and arrows. Religious tradition says that this is to celebrate the life of Shimon Bar Yochai, the light he brought into the world and celebrate the end of the plague that impacted our nation so greatly. Zionist tradition says that the bonfires are in memory of the rebels who used fire signals to announce the beginning of the rebellion against the Roman occupiers.
No matter which aspect you focus on regarding Lag B’Omer, this holiday is a reminder of the fires of the Jewish spirit that reside in us all.

Idk about "Most Dangerous" but off the top of my head:
Astrology and like concepts are spiritual ideas which must be respected to the point of letting people do phrenology
Antisemitism is fine as long as you treat Jewish people like magic sages full of mystical wisdom

The Curse of Ham - Many Christians, Jews, Muslims and Occultists agree - Hidden Truth? - People don't want to talk about it because it's politically incorrect
Tumblr media
He said, “Cursed be Canaan; lowest of slaves shall he be to his brothers”. He also said, “Blessed by the Lord my God be Shem; and let Canaan be his slave. May God make space for Japheth, and let him live in the tents of Shem; and let Canaan be his slave”. (Gen 9:25–27, NRSV)

Sanhedrin 108b
The Gemara asks: And from where do we derive that it was prohibited for them to engage in intercourse while in the ark? The Gemara answers: It is derived from that which is written: “And you shall come into the ark, you, and your sons, and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you” (Genesis 6:18); and it is written: “Emerge from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you” (Genesis 8:16). And Rabbi Yoḥanan says: From here, the Sages derived and said that it was prohibited to engage in intercourse while in the ark, as when Noah and his family entered, the husbands and wives were listed separately, and when they emerged, the husbands were listed with their wives.
The Sages taught: Three violated that directive and engaged in intercourse while in the ark, and all of them were punished for doing so. They are: The dog, and the raven, and Ham, son of Noah. The dog was punished in that it is bound; the raven was punished in that it spits, and Ham was afflicted in that his skin turned black.
Tractate Sanhedrin
Folio 108a
Our Rabbis taught: Three copulated in the ark, and they were all punished — the dog, the raven, and Ham. The dog was doomed to be tied, the raven expectorates [his seed into his mate's mouth]. and Ham was smitten in his skin.
In the biblical narrative when Abraham enters Egypt, he tells his wife Sarah to tell the Egyptians that she is his sister, lest they kill him. Rashi comments “I have long known that thou art fair of appearance: but now we are traveling among black and repulsive people, brethren of the Ethiopians [Kushites], who have never been accustomed to see a beautiful woman” (Rashi on Gen. 12:11).
(Abarbanel on Gen. 10:1). A few sentences later, he comments on Ḥam’s descendants:
And you will see how the characteristics of these three fathers are found in the nations which come from them, for from Ḥam comes “Kush and Egypt and Libya, and Canaan” [Common English Bible, Gen. 10:6], for they are all until today ugly looking and their figures are black as a raven, steeped in licentiousness and drawn after the animal lusts, lacking intelligence and knowledge and lacking [political] states and the degrees of good qualities and bravery (ibid).
The Encyclopedia of the Jewish Religion refers to Moses Maimonides as “the symbol of the pure and orthodox faith.”
He wrote:
“…the Negroes found in the remote South, and those who resemble them from among them that are with us in these climes. The status of those is like that of irrational animals. To my mind they do not have the rank of men, but have among the beings a rank lower than the rank of man but higher than the rank of apes. …”
According to Wiesenthal Center historian Dr. Harold Brackman, Rabbi Judah Halevi and Maimonides were “the two greatest thinkers the medieval Jewish world produced,” and “virtually the only point” on which they “agree is that Blacks are biologically inferior.” Both based their “wisdom” on Talmudic authority.
Abravanel wrote that because of Ham’s crimes against his father, Noah, God cursed Ham’s descendants to be “black and ugly” and have “animal lusts, lacking intelligence and sciences and lacking political states.”
Book - The Curse of Canaan: A Demonology of History (1987)
Garnier continues, p. 78 of "The Worship of the Dead": "We have also seen that Osiris was black, or of the Cushite race, and this was characteristic of the Egyptians. Herodotus speaks of the Egyptians generally as black and wooly haired. There were two races in Egypt, the Mizraimites, who first colonized the country, and the black Egyptians, the latter receiving their name from Aegyptus, the son of Belus, i.e. Cush. There can be little doubt, therefore, that Aegyptus, the father of the black Egyptians, and son of Belus, is the same as the black Osiris." On p. 92 Garnier informs us: "The Aryan immigration and Brahmanism were subsequent to that of a Cushite race more or less hostile to them and their religion. We find Aryan traditions speaking of themselves as white and the Dasyns as black, i.e. Cushite." Garnier quotes a description of the Cushites as follows: "They call them demons and devil-worshippers, and lascivious wretches who make a god of the Sisna, the Lingam, and the Phallus."
In talmudic literature, Cushi always means a black person or the negro race. Cushite is synonymous with black. (Yar Mo'ed Katan 16b).
Rabbi Morris Jacob Raphall of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in New York
“[I]t remains a fact which cannot be gainsaid that in his own native home, and generally throughout the world, the unfortunate negro is indeed the meanest of slaves. Much had been said respecting the inferiority of his intellectual powers, and that no man of his race has ever inscribed his name on the Parthenon of human excellence, either mental or moral.”
Rabbi Isaac Mayer Wise was the FOUNDER of Reform Judaism, which is today practiced by most American Jews.
But those men have only a figurative connection, for Rabbi Wise viewed Blacks as “representing all that is debased and inferior in the hopeless barbarity and heathenism of six thousand years.” He defended slavery, saying that “The Negro was never free; and his bondage in Africa was simply duplicated in a milder form when he was imported here.”
Many believe that Ham raped Noah and therefore received a curse.
Bereshit Rabbah
The Sefaria Midrash Rabbah, 2022
“Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his youngest son had done to him” (Genesis 9:24). “Noah awoke from his wine” – the effect of his wine ceased from him. “And knew what his youngest [hakatan] son had done to him” – his disqualified son. That is what is written: For the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too small [katan] to contain...” (I Kings 8:64). “He said: Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves he shall be to his brothers” (Genesis 9:25).
“He said: Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves he shall be to his brothers” – Ḥam committed the sin and Canaan was cursed? This is astonishing. Rabbi Yehuda and Rabbi Neḥemya, Rabbi Yehuda said: Because it is written: “God blessed Noah and his sons” (Genesis 9:1), and a curse cannot be in a place where there is blessing. That is why he said: “Cursed is Canaan.” Rabbi Neḥemya says: Canaan saw and told Ḥam; therefore, one ascribes the curse to the corrupt one.
Rabbi Ḥiyya bar Abba said: Both Ḥam and the dog engaged in sexual relations in the ark. That is why Ḥam emerged darkened, and the dog is exposed when mating. Rabbi Levi said: This is analogous to one who imprinted his own coinage [with his image] inside the king’s tent. The king said: ‘I decree that his face should be blackened and his image defaced.’ So, Ḥam and the dog engaged in sexual relations in the ark, and that is why Ḥam emerged darkened, and the dog is exposed when mating.
Mar Ephrem the Syrian said: When Noah awoke and was told what Canaan did Noah said, Cursed be Canaan and may God make his face black (sawwada allāhu wajhahu),í and immediately the face of Canaan changed; so did the face of his father Ham, and their white faces became black and dark (wa- āda bayā wajhuhumā sawādan wa-qatamatan) and their color changed.
Indeed, the tradition makes an appearance later in the same Syriac Christian world. Ishodad of Merv (9th century, bishop of Hedhatha) records it, although not accepting it: When Noah cursed Canaan with eternal slavery, he says, ìinstantly, by the force of the curse… his face and entire body became black (ukmotha). This is the black color which has persisted in his descendants.
Similar stories are told by many others. One of the earliest is transmitted by the 3rd-4th century Samaritan, Marqe: ìWhen Kush saw the nakedness of his father, he was cursed and he wore darkness (wlbö qblh) ñ he and all his descendants forever.
As an example, I quote Wahb ibn Munabbih (d. ca. 730): ām the son of Noah was a white man, with a handsome face and a fine figure, and Almighty God changed his color and the color of his descendants in response to his fatherís curse. He went away, followed by his sons, and they settled by the shore, where God increased and multiplied them. They are the blacks (sūdān).
Origen (c. 185-c. 254):
For the Egyptians are prone to a degenerate life and quickly sink to every slavery of the vices. Look at the origin of the race and you will discover that their father Cham, who had laughed at his father’s nakedness, deserved a judgment of this kind, that his son Chanaan should be a servant to his brothers, in which case the condition of bondage would prove the wickedness of his conduct. Not without merit, therefore, does the discolored posterity imitate the ignobility of the race [Non ergo immerito ignobilitatem decolor posteritas imitatur] (Homilies on Genesis 16.1).
Eutychius, Alexandrian Melkite patriarch (d. 940): “Cursed be Ham and may he be a servant to his brothers… He himself and his descendants, who are the Egyptians, the Negroes, the Ethiopians and (it is said) the Barbari.”
Ibn al-Tayyib (Arabic Christian scholar, Baghdad, d. 1043): “The curse of Noah affected the posterity of Canaan who were killed by Joshua son of Nun. At the moment of the curse, Canaan’s body became black and the blackness spread out among them.”
The Syrian Christian scholar Bar Hebraeus (1226-86) writes:
“‘And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and showed [it] to his two brothers.’ That is…that Canaan was cursed and not Ham, and with the very curse he became black and the blackness was transmitted to his descendents…. And he said, ‘Cursed be Canaan! A servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.’”
According to Catholic mystic Anne Catherine Emmerich, "I saw the curse pronounced by Noah upon Ham moving toward the latter like a black cloud and obscuring him. His skin lost its whiteness, he grew darker. His sin was the sin of sacrilege, the sin of one who would forcibly enter the Ark of the Covenant. I saw a most corrupt race descend from Ham and sink deeper and deeper in darkness. I see that the black, idolatrous, stupid nations are the descendants of Ham. Their color is due, not to the rays of the sun, but to the dark source whence those degraded races sprang."
Scholars frequently cite the Chronicle of the Discovery and Conquest of Guinea, by Gomes Eanes de Azurara, written in 1453, as the first documented example of these ideas coming together as a justification of Early Modern slavery. In it, Azurara identifies Black Africans living in Guinea as the descendants of Ham, whose slavery is a result of the Biblical Curse of Ham:
"And here you must note that these Blacks, given that they are Muslims like the others, are in any event the slaves of the latter by ancient custom, which I believe to be because of the curse that Noah cast upon his son Ham after the flood, by which he cursed him, that his generation be made subject to all the others of the world."
The Muslim commentator Ibn Mutarrif Al-Tarafi, writing in Sevilla in the eleventh century, repeats the tradition that Ham’s semen turned black as a punishment for disobeying God on the Ark, but changes Ham’s crime from having sex with her during a period of mandated abstinence to beating her, swapping out sexual incontinence for domestic violence as supposed characteristics of Black Africans:
"Qatada relates that there were only eight people on the Ark: Noah, his wife, his three sons Shem, Ham, and Japeth; Ham hit his wife on the Ark and for this reason Noah asked God to turn his seed black, and that is the origin of the Blacks (al-Tarafi 69)"
The Biblia de Alba or Biblia de Arragel was a collaboration between Rabbi Moshe Arragel and an anonymous Christian cleric or clerics and is unique in its ecumenical approach to combining Christian and Jewish commentaries on the Torah. In any event, Arragel equates the offspring of Ham’s son Canaan with the Muslim Black Africans of his own day. He writes: “And Canaan was a a slave of slaves, and some say that they are the Black Muslims, who are slaves wherever they be”
Blavatsky's Secret Doctrine "Mankind is obviously divided into god-informed men and lower human creatures. The intellectual difference between the Aryan and other civilized nations and such savages as the South Sea Islanders, is inexplicable on any other grounds. No amount of culture, nor generations of training amid civilization, could raise such human specimens as the Bushmen, the Veddhas of Ceylon, and some African Tribes, to the same intellectual level as the Aryans, the Semites, and the Turanians so called. The 'sacred spark' is missing in them and it is they who are the only inferior races on the globe, now happily – owing to the wise adjustment of nature which ever works in that direction – fast dying out. Verily mankind is 'of one blood,' but not of the same essence. We are the hot-house, artificially quickened plants in nature, having in us a spark, which in them is latent" (The Secret Doctrine, Vol. 2, p 421).
Allan Kardec: "Thus, as a physical organization, blacks will always be the same. As spirits, they are unquestionably an inferior race, that is, primitive. They are true children to whom very little can be taught. But, through intelligent care, it is always possible to modify certain habits, certain tendencies, which already represents a progress that they will take to another existence, and that will allow them, later on, to take on an envelope of better conditions. Working for its improvement, one works less for its present than for its future and, however little it is achieved, for them it is always an acquisition. Each progress is a step forward that facilitates further progress."
“They are beings so brute, so unintelligent, that it would be a vain effort to try to instruct them. They are an inferior, incorrigible, profoundly incapable race.” The theory that we have just presented allows us to look at them in a different light.. In the question of the improvement of races, it is always necessary to take into account two constitutive elements of man: the spiritual element and the corporeal element. It is necessary to know both, and only Spiritism can enlighten us as to the nature of the spiritual element, the most important, for being what thinks and what survives, while the corporeal element is destroyed."
“As soon as young black people reach the period During puberty, we witness a phenomenon identical to that which occurs in monkeys. From now on, the intellectual faculties remain stationary and the individual, like the entire race, becomes incapable of any progress” (Leçons sur l'homme. p. 253).
"This answer is more sensible than it seems at first glance. Certainly the Spirit is never black. He means that, as a Spirit, he no longer has the humiliations to which the black race is subjected."
"Black people can be beautiful to black people, like a cat to cats; but they are not beautiful in the absolute sense, because their features are coarse, their lips thick, they reveal the materiality of instincts; they can perfectly express violent passions, but they never the delicate varieties of feeling and the modulations of a high Spirit. This is why we can (...) consider ourselves more beautiful than black..." - Posthumous Works, chap. “Theory of Beauty”.
Book: Illuminating The Darkness: Blacks and North Africans in Islam
In contrast to the story found in the Bible, the Muslim versions of the story state that Ḥām’s descendants will be cursed with black skin. The curse of Ḥām fable is cited by many medieval Muslim writers and Qur’ānic exegetes as the cause of the darkness of black peoples’ skin. Early Muslim scholars such as Ath-Tha‘labī, Al-Kisā’ī, Ibn Kathīr and Ibn Qutaybah all narrate the story in their works. Ibn Jarīr aṭ-Ṭabarī reported the fable in his magisterial work on Islamic history, Tārīkh ar-rusul wa’l-mulūk The History of the Prophets and Kings’], “The people of the Tawrāh claim that this curse was because of Nūḥ’s invocation against his son Ḥām
Simeon Doggett:
"Simeon Doggetthis prophetic denunciation is, that the posterity of Ham would become a degraded, servile race, and eventually fall under the domination of the descendants of his other sons, Shem and Japheth. This extraordinary prediction has been wonderfully verified. The posterity of Shem spread over Asia, while that of Japheth possessed Europe; to whom Ham’s posterity, the miserable Africans, have for immemorial ages, been in slavery, either as conquered nations, or as individuals transported to America, by the sons of avarice."
—Simeon Doggett Two Discourses on the Subject of Slavery (Doggett 1835, p. 6)
Thornton Stringfellow: "Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. These three sons are declared by the Almighty to be types of the several nations that would descend from them. They are made typical representatives of superior, inferior, and medium nations. Their several localities were selected of God for each class of these nations to occupy on the globe, and their habitations were adapted to their type of character."
(Stringfellow 1861, p. 34, emphasis mine)
James A. Sloan: Black, restrained, despised, bowed down are the words used to express the condition and place of Ham’s children. Bearing the mark of degradation on their skin, they are restrained from being on an equality with their more favored brethren; they are often despised and prevented from intermarrying or mingling with the white and red races, and finally they are bowed down to the authority of their superiors without successful resistance.(Sloan 1857, p. 80, emphasis mine)
According to Sloan, black skin palpably expresses “the condition and place of Ham’s children”. It is a physical “mark of degradation” that renders their subordination to other races visible. Moreover, the descendants of Ham are “despised” and placed in a permanent posture of obeisance; they are “bowed down” to the superior “white and red races”. For Doggett, Flournoy, and Sloan, black skin is an indelible mark that signals the accursed and enslaved status of Ham and his descendants.
Samuel Cartwright:
Samuel Cartwright (1789–1864) speaks at length describing the physiological differences between the Black and White race:His lips are immensely thicker than any of the white race, his nose broader and flatter, his chin smaller and more retreating, his foot flatter, broader, larger, and the heel longer, while he has scarcely any calves at all to his legs when compared to an equally healthy and muscular white man. He does not walk flat on his feet but on the outer sides, in consequence of the sole of the foot having a direction inwards, from the legs and thighs being arched outwards and the knees bent. The verb, from which his Hebrew name is derived, points out this flexed position of the knees, and also clearly expresses the servile type of his mind. Ham, the father of Canaan, when translated into plain English, reads that a black man was the father of the slave or knee-bending species of mankind.(Elliot 1860, pp. 710–11, emphasis mine)
Cartwright’s vulgar description is similar to Van Amringe’s assessment of the Canaanitic species. Regarding spiritual character, Van Amringe provides the following list of characterizations:Attributes equally undeveloped. Inferiorly mental; not originative, inventive, or speculative; roving, revengeful, predatory, and highly sensual; warlike and destructive. (Van Amringe 1848, p. 75)
Regarding physical character, he observes: Sluggish sensibility, approaching to torpor; dark or black skin; hair black, generally woolly; skull compressed on the sides, narrow at the forehead, which slants backwards; cheek bones very prominent; jaws projecting; teeth oblique and chin retreating, forming a muzzle-shaped profile; nose, broad, flat, and confused with the face; eyes prominent; lips thick.(Van Amringe 1848, pp. 75–6)
For both Cartwright and Van Amringe, the lips, nose, feet, legs, and knees are part and parcel of the curse. These physical features mirror the inner mind and inferior character of Africans. As seen earlier with Priest, Cartwright bases his interpretation on the Hebrew term for “Canaan” (כנען), which he understands as “the father of the slave or knee-bending species of mankind”. Elsewhere, Cartwright renders Canaan as “submissive knee-bender” ((Cartwright 1851, p. 68); quoted in (Peterson 1978, p. 73)). What these examples underscore is that biblical interpretation was not ancillary to the racist thinking that permeated antebellum society. The Bible was an important vehicle in creating and maintaining the racial hierarchy of the American South.
The move from curse to color is taken a step further in the writings of Stringfellow. He asserts that the curse is manifested by the moral character:
For Stringfellow, the curse of blackness is not merely physical; it affects all intellectual, moral, and mental capacities. In this way, Ham’s inferior status is passed down through his lineage in the very “character of his descendants”. In much the same way, Morgan John Rhys (1760–1804), a Welsh Baptist minister, associated the curse with other physical features including hair: “Where a curse is, a mark you think will follow. The colour, shape, and even the hair on their heads, prove the poor Africans to be children of the curse, and fit for nothing but drudgery and slavery” ((Rhys 1798); quoted in (Goldenberg 2017, p. 219)).
Josiah Priest
“It was from the lips of this man [Noah] that the everlasting God chose to announce the curse or malediction of servitude and slavery upon Ham and his race, as it is written, Gen. ix, 25—27.”
“HAM is the man who is denounced with his posterity, who were to become the slaves of the posterities of the two other races, and among themselves; for the text says, they should be the "servants of servants," as well as the servants of the hired servants of the other races, as is the fact in all countries, and has ever been thus.
It is not our opinion that for this one act of Ham that dreadful curse fell upon him and his race. It was not for that one act alone, but on account of his whole character and nature (which one act was, however, in awful keeping with his previous life), that the curse of slavery was entailed on his race.
The curse, therefore, against Ham and his race was not sent out on the account of that one sin only. But as the deed was heinous, and withal was in unison with his whole life, character and constitutional make, prior to that deed, the curse, which had slumbered long, was let loose upon him and his posterity, as a general thing, placing them under the ban of slavery, on account of his and their foreseen characters.
Noah did not and could not, as a holy and good man, have pronounced that curse in a vindictive and furious manner upon Ham. No, this he did not do; it was very far from being thus. When the great Patriarch was moved upon by the Holy Ghost to speak as he did on that occasion, we have no doubt but he did it with real pain and sorrow of heart, and yet it must be done, as it was dictated by the influence of the Eternal's mandate.”
Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406) Kitab al 'Ibar
P126
“We have seen that Negroes are in general characterized by levity, excitability and great emotionalism. They are found eager to dance whenever they hear a melody. They are everywhere described as stupid.
p127Masoudi (16) took it upon him to look for the cause that produces by the Negroes that light handedness, the constant pleasure they radiate, but for all solutions there is only a word from Galen (17) and Al-Kendi (18) after whom their character goes towards a feeble brain, from where comes feeble intelligence. Their words do not prove anything and are without value.”
Al-Masudi mentions that after the birth of Ham’s black son (Kush), Ham (Noah’s son) wanted to kill his wife, but Shem tried to stop him by reminding him of his father’s curse, so Ham became angry. Then Satan fomented discord between the brothers and pitted one against the other. In the end, Ham had to flee to Egypt; his children were scattered, and he continued his journey westward, till he came into the Sūs-al-Aqsa.14 While black Hamites scattered in the African continent, the Shemites dispersed in Arabia and Palestine, and Japheth’s descendants settled in the north.

The second story (Midrash, Genesis Rabbah 36.7), in an elaboration of the biblical narrative in Genesis 9 (“And Ham saw [Noah’s] nakedness”), assumes that Ham castrated his father Noah. In retaliation Noah said to Ham: “You prevented me from doing that which is done in the dark [the sexual act], therefore may your progeny be black and ugly.
The idea that black skin came about due to a change in seminal composition had wide currency. See the church father Origen’s Commentary to Song of Songs 2.2: “Among the whole of the Ethiopian race...there is a certain natural blackness because of seminal inheritance (ex seminis carnalis successione nigredo), that in those parts the sun burns with fiercer rays, and that having once been scorched, the bodies remain darkened in the transmission of the inborn defect (infuscata corpora genuini vitii successione permaneant). Die griechischen christlichen Schriftsteller der ersten drei Jahrhunderte (Leipzig, 1901- ) 33:125. R.P. Lawson translates: “natural blackness inherited by all” and “bodies that have once been scorched and darkened, transmit a congenital stain to their posterity” for the bracketed words. Ancient Christian Writers (Westminster MD, 1946- ) 26: 107. Similarly, Hippocrates, Airs, Waters, Places 14, Strabo 15.1.24, Herodotus 3.101; cf. 3.97, Aristotle, Generation of Animals 2.736a, 10-15, and Democritus (H. Diels and W. Kranz, Die Fragmente der Vorsokratiker (Berlin, 1951-52) 68A141. In a Persian version of $abar•’s History done by Abu Ali Mohammed Balam• (10th century), we find the same idea of altered genetic composition.
Elaborating on the biblical story, Balam• says that Noah cursed Ham and said: “‘May God change the semen of your loins.’ After that all the people and fruit of the country of Ham became black.” M. Hermann Zotenberg, ed. and trans. Chronique de Abou-Djafar-Mohammed-ben-Djarir-ben-Yezid $abar• traduite sur la version persane d’Abou-Ali Mohammed Belami (Paris, 1867-1874) 1:115. 14 Precisely the same explanation for Aphrodite’s (the love goddess) title as the “Black One” is given by Pausanius, the Greek geographer of the second century CE: people make love in the dark (Description of Greece 8.6.5). The Sanhedrin passage is paralleled in the Jerusalem Talmud, Taanit 1.6, 64d.]
The first text is from the Zohar, a thirteenth-century kabbalistic work: And Ham was the father of Canaan (Genesis 9:18). [I.e.,] the refuse and dross of the gold, the stirring and rousing of the unclean spirit of the ancient serpent. It is for that reason that it is written the “father of Canaan,” [namely, of Canaan] who brought curses into the world, of Canaan who was cursed, of Canaan who darkened the faces of mankind.... “Ham, the father of Canaan,” that is, [the father of] the world-darkener.23

Berakhot 5a: 5. "A bitter, bitter pole."
Tumblr media
A reseph is a "recipe", which is just another term for the Torah, which means "instructions" except now, instead of whipping up a sweet sweet, cake, we're making something bitter:
5. And Rabbi Yitzchak said: Everyone who recites a Kiryat Shema on his bed is a miser in the right hand.
As it was said: "And the sons of Resheph will lift it up as a fowl", and there is no "fowl" but the Torah, as it is said: "Fix your eyes on it and it is not".
And there is no "reseph" but a harmful one, as it is said: "A slanderer of hunger and heat is reseph and a bitter pole."
It is interesting to note the Jews and Greeks did not exactly see eye to on the incorporation of fertile adolescents into society due to restrictions about this in the Torah, but in the Mishnah, the interpretation is much more liberal, stating the proper "lifting up" of a dove boy is an important stage of development.
Notice the terminology is not overtly sexual or rapturous and indeed it is not; the language states one cannot heap responsibility on a boy just because he has a pair of hairy walnuts and then demonize their God-given purposes so long as certain expectations are met.
Our Jewish sages were wise and prescient. The entire Mishnah is dedicated to the onset of Three Shifts in human consciousness and composition necessary to bring about Mashiach. Oppression of others based on issues that pertain to sex have been a huge problem for societies for thousands of years, and in no way contributes to brotherhood or Mashiach.
This section is therefore harshly critical of the use of shame towards sexuality, unless it gets out of hand, in which case, one should resort to the instruction in the Torah as to how to reinstate oneself.
The Values in Gematria for the above verses are:
a. The Value in Gematria is 5485, הד‎חה‎‎, dismissal.
"Human nature and human reason are not inherently evil. Human beings naturally care for one another and are outraged by injustice. Human reason has produced a wealth of wisdom.
But the human mind is easily bribed. When morality becomes inconvenient, we find ways to dismiss it. When ethics get in our way, we find reasons to change the rules of the game. And when it comes to people who are outside of our clan, tribe or society, we simply determine that they are not human like us, and everything is justified.
That is why it is vital, especially today in a global society, that we accept a single Authority, one who is neither human nor elected by humans, and whose word is eternal and immutable."
b. The Value in Gematria is 9208, טב‎אֶפֶסח, tbafesach, "the Passover."
c. The Value in Gematria is 3531, גהגא‎, gaga, "the map of the roof".
We have observed how the manifestation of fertility in a boy is a crossroad- he will either become noble or cooked depending on the influences around him. Even if there are an abundance of educators, role models and men and women with good senses of humor about human sexuality, virginity is not an easy time. Being a virgin and being trapped in Egypt- in a society that is tyrranical or immoral is a death trap.
The final exit is the same as the way out of Egypt. To cross the Jordan at the proper time, and put an end to one's virginity when one is prepared is the same as making the preparations for Shema At Midnight. Both require one to lay back on one's bed and entertain belief in the Mishnah, the road to Mashiach.

2 Kings 16: 10-14. "The Sketch."
Tumblr media
No, we are not talking about Chris Colfer. This is discussion here involves what is called Kabbalah. Kabbalah like Tantra, which involves Mandala, "the map" or "the zone". It is much more than data visualization or guided meditation. The goal is to use various configurations of the alefbeis to wake up the sentient aspects of the brain, sort of like splashing fertlizer on plants.
While the process of reading and writing anything involves "mapping" or "zoning" Kabbalah using the Torah and the books of the Tanakh does far more than to teach us to imagine something that can only take place in the mind. To make it work, Jewish sages say you need to read the Torah and all scripture in fact along four dimensions called pardes:
Jewish Bible interpretation methods classify four such stages or levels: P'shat (straight, direct, literal), Remez (hinted-at), D'rash (inquire, seek) and Sod (secret, mysterious). These four levels are called PaRDeS for short, as an acronym.
In the following section, the process begins with a sketch of an altar. The altar is not real, but sketching the altar in the mind as the script, the interpretations and the Gematria state will turn it into an object lesson that diminishes a portion of the wavelength of a sinful animal man, and tune him up to the higher magnitude of a sentient man.
Each one these Kings, Princes, Captains, etc. is an object lesson that illustrates conversion from one to the other, sometimes back and forh. In this case Ahaz, who grasps, was trying, like a retarded caterpillar to go back into the egg stage of his life rather than the coccoon. Then he comes up with an idea for how to make up for lost time:
10 Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He saw an altar in Damascus and sent to Uriah the priest a sketch of the altar, with detailed plans for its construction.
11 So Uriah the priest built an altar in accordance with all the plans that King Ahaz had sent from Damascus and finished it before King Ahaz returned.
12 When the king came back from Damascus and saw the altar, he approached it and presented offerings[a] on it.
13 He offered up his burnt offering and grain offering, poured out his drink offering, and splashed the blood of his fellowship offerings against the altar.
14 As for the bronze altar that stood before the Lord, he brought it from the front of the temple—from between the new altar and the temple of the Lord—and put it on the north side of the new altar.
Ahaz realizes if he goes to Uriah, "the flame" he will become who he is meant to be. He goes to Damascus, the traffic circle in life where one can go around and take a different route, and meets with the King of Assyria, who has put him in bondage. Hesketches out a plan for a new kind of altar. Uriah the priest agrees with the concept:
"The verb אור ('or) means to be light or to give light; to shine. This verb's primary derivative is the expectable noun אור ('or), meaning light.
The 'metaphor' that relates light to wisdom may not be a metaphor, or at least not to the ancients. In our article on the verb נהר (nahar), meaning both to flow and to shine, we show that the ancients had a surprisingly solid grasp of Relativity Theory."
Ahaz's request for his freedom is granted. His sketch becomes reality and he is allowed to move his new altar beyond the Bronze Altar.
The Bronze Altar is what becomes of a pale pasty lad who climbs Sinai to meet with Ha Shem on Horeb. The Light of Ha Shem on Horeb is said to bronze the skin like all good Jews possess.
To move past the moment one sees God on Sinai is always the objective. If we examine the places in the Torah where Moses meets with God and then read on, we learn our real perfected human self takes a long time. But first, all doubt about the existence of God has to be whet, tested, and changed. This requires movement beyond the tent, the shul, the altar, even the Torah itself towards the North, where what God knows what man can come to know become one.
So, really, a sketch of this is all we will really ever have until we actually do it. While it is the ultimate experience of the sublime, to be caught in the gaze of Ha Shem, one must still return to this plane of existence and its troubles and that, not firm knowledge and experience of the Presence of God is what requires adjustment not the other way around.
Human beings are capable of some truly amazingly despicable things, and the themes around them are not at all like those one is exposed to by the Eye of Ha Shem. The conclusion one draws about God and what differentiates Him from us is His value system.
One can say after exposure to Ha Shem "I now know this Person. He is my friend" and all will understand exactly what that means where mankind is failing to sketch him properly.
The Values in Gematria for the above verses are:
v. 10: The Sketch of the Altar. Now an Altar is a dividing line. Any thing that separates the man from the beast is an Altar. From the first fresh scent of our first smelly locker room sweat sock to the end of a World War, Altars are instruments of change, planned and unplanned. Which is better is decided between you and the Rabbi.
The Value in Gematria is 9904, טטאֶפֶסד, tatapesd, "you will lose."
Altars are for giving things up, not praying for more:
v. 11: The Altar is Built. the Value in Gematria is 6271, ובזא‎‎, and baza, "and in this..."
v. 12: When the King came back... one must naturally come back from a turn, AKA Damascus. The Value in Gematria is 4444, dddddd, or "Six Doors" AKA Six Days, which means we are always starting a Day 1 and ending Day 6 in some aspect of life; Shabbat, the fruits of the actions are also always happening. We observe Day 7 very formally as this is what is necessary to force civilization to recognize the place in which it lives and how its current fate is coming to pass.
Altars play a significant role in the observance of the Days of the Week and finally of Shabbat.
v. 13: Burnt, drink, grain, and blood offerings. These are discussed at length in the Torah but they are respectively:
Burnt- stop sinning.
Drink- go do something nice for someone else.
Grain- teach yourself something new.
Blood- be happy.
Things changed in Egypt. Humanity learned how to institutionalize sins God said were forbidden in the Age of Abraham and was not going to forget. So the construction of Altars and the performance of the Sacraments were instituted by Moses in hopes of what is called Mashiach, complete obsolesence of the sins men keep alive through habit and culture.
The Value in Gematria is 5497, the 16th.
"The ayin is the sixteenth letter of the alef-beis. According to the AriZal, the ayin is a vav contained in a nun. The nun represents humility. The vav signifies Torah, which descends from Heaven to earth in its inherent design of a hook or a chute. Vav also has the gematria of six. This represents the Six Orders of the Mishnah, the Oral Law. Only an individual who is unassuming, who has the humility of the nun, is fit to acquire the higher level of the vav, the “crown of Torah.”
v. 14: As for the Bronze Altar... the Value in Gematria is 9253, טבהג‎, tabhag, "the cook."
Only God can cook the mind and turn a man bronze. Even if we go to shul or mosque or church every week and study the scripture every night, only God can invoke the sentient spirit of man, and it must be done without help, only with intuition. The former are the diving board, but if man is to enter the pool, he has to jump and this he has to do alone and unaided.
So the Sketch begins in the mind when we start reading the Torah and concludes later in life after we finally get it and no longer need to rely on others to be fully constituted human beings made in our own image which, if done properly, will come to resemble God's as well.
