>reiji was a misspelling - i forgot that the japanese for thunder was rai, not rei, so reiji ended up as reiji rather than something playing off being an electric type. a spikey design and feeling for the speech bubble to contrast circe. also thats a pecha scarf because i like not being poisoned. >circe, in mythology, is the daughter of the sun god helios. fire type, daughter of the sun, you get the idea. a more rounded and curly design and speech bubble to contrast reiji. i forgot if circe was wearing the band that increased attack or the one that increased special attack but she certainly is wearing one. >phosphor's name is taken from a game called Oneshot!! the lamp visible in the last page is inspired directly by the lamplighter guys lamp and their speechbubble features a lightbulb, a big plot-important object in Oneshot

>fey is a reference to maya fey from ace attorney!! a purple scrunchie to reference that maya is purple, a magatama both around feys neck and in her speech bubble because thats plot important. the chains in the speech bubble are also a reference to ace attorney and the magatama. the background silhouette is the hazakura temple gates because that case was sure memorable.

>basilisk is a reference to the common water basilisk! so hella water motif and an attempt to merge a wooper with a basilisk. hell yeah.

>rivulet!! rain world rivulet!!!! i gave rivus big ol eyes to a surskit and stuck their axolotl-esque whisker on top and put pink highlights to make a surskit design with a very obvious inspiration. i didnt want to go with a water motif cause basilisk already had that so i made the background silhouette rivulet the slugcat and gave the speech bubble a more wavey look for fun.

>(in hindsight basilisks (walks on water) and rivulets (axolotl) names should have been swapped. that wouldve fit better. but oh well it is what it is and i dont wanna change it)

Well the short of it that I can say as a Ground type expert is that frankly, most Ground types ain't good at either holdin' their breath underwater fer long or jus' plain breathin' underwater. Exceptions to this are the few Water/Ground types, so the Whiscash line, Seismitoad line, Gastrodon an'-

Biggest tell with whether or not a Pokémon is a Ground type though is whether or not it can carry an electric charge. Now I'm meanin' any electric charge, not just a strong one, so static electricity is usually what is used. It don't hurt much either--measurin' it in battle damage terms it'd only do one or two hit points a' damage if anythin' (two or four HP on a Water or Flyin' type). But on Ground? Zero.

The way most Pokémon Professors will do it though is a way that does no damage at all, an' it's called the "Thunder Wave method," which is... Literally what it sounds like. Use Thunder Wave, an' if it don't paralyze the Pokémon, then it's a Ground type.

an ungodly amount of grusha x maki rambles (+ maki x rika rambles) cuz its 12am in the morning (bear with me this post is chaotic and so many things are in brackets)

their ship name is poisonpear (maki specialises is poison type pokemon and grusha's name is pear in russian)

the two live in this cabin thingy??i forgot the name...chalet or something>?? (pls correct me) and their house is like at the peak of glaseado mountain

honestly i have no idea how the two met

there's a frozen lake behind their house and every now and then, the two would ice skate ther

grusha knits lil sweaters for maki and their pokemon

maki has this habit of pulling down grusha's scarf and kissing him

they also doodle on grusha's arm/hands a lot

grusha teaches maki swear words from his native language and maki does the same

the two throw snowballs at skiers (i love the headcanon that grusha throws snowballs at skiers)

ok, so this is gonna take a while to explain but basically...

it was during a party, Maki was dragged along by Ryme and Iono saying that they need to interact with people more

sometime during the party (when everybody was drunk), Maki was getting ready to leave when they saw Grusha

They thought that this was the perfect opportunity to make a new friend and there, thats how they met

ok so, my homosexual ass can't choose who maki should be shipped with so here's maki x rika content:

their ship name is spiceprincess (apparently rika's JP name is chili and thats a spice idk and maki - despite being mistreated in their childhood, was often called a princess. rika may or may not call maki princess as a form of endearment)

rika sometimes uses maki as an arm rest (she's like 5'10?? idk and maki's 5'5 ish)

honestly, this ship is angstier than poisonpear

rika is well aware that she has competition w grusha and she knows damn well she doesnt stand a chance

she knows that maki will always choose grusha over her and she tries to express her love for maki as much as she can via "platonic" flirting and whatnot

maki on the other hand, thinks that rika is just flirting with them for the hell of it and there's nothing deep behind it.

during that one party where maki met grusha, they also met rika there

after performing a short song on stage with Ryme, Maki's personality ig sparked rika's curiosity and she basically went up to maki and just started complimenting them

maki and rika often swap their glasses around with eachothers

they also have this habit of grabbing rika by the tie and pulling her in for a kiss

everytime maki does this however, they always end up getting kabedoned by rika :3

So, I got the new Pokeymans game.

After a bit of exploring I got a damn good one too. A Paldean Wooper which is ground/poison type instead of water/ground who also has an ability that lets it absorb water type attacks, eliminating it's biggest weakness to boot.

Thing is... this thing is the most literal definition of a Pocket Monster. o_o;;;

Every time I send her out with the R button she immediately runs to the nearest cluster of wild Pokemon, kicks the everloving hell out of them all, then stands there amid a pile of unconscious mud-splattered bodies with a big smile like 'Hyoomon! I do gud?!'

I fear what I have unleashed. ._.;;;

UPDATE ON WOOPY!

I went bought a kiddie pool for the time being till i can get a suitable pond for the little man! I set it up in my backyard in the afternoon, and had a little picnic outside with Cherie and Ciel. I put some eats for the Woopster and THIS GUY CAN RUN. He made a beeline straight for the kiddie pool and was having the time of his life! He eventually came out for some lunch and it was a lovely time. I’ve decided to name him Morceau, which is a polite term in Kalos for, uh, chubby. He’s so squishy and loves playing with Ciel!

hell yeah woopers Love water. u would not think so bc Ground type but no the guys love that shit. make sure to feed that baby whatever the heck he wants.

I’m terribly sorry; you must receive my messages at the strangest times of the day. I often send these right before I sleep at night, and the time zone difference between Paldea and Sinnoh is quite significant.

I have two questions for you. One where I’m shamelessly asking about myself and one where I’m not.

The first was only a result of my incompetence. I didn’t read the paperwork when I signed up for a Contest over in Hearthome, but am I allowed to Mega Evolve my Blastoise? I believe I saw a video of a Coordinator named Zoey Mega Evolve her Garchomp, but I can’t find whether she got disqualified on Groovyle.

Secondly, since you’re in Paldea, what the HELL is going on over there? One moment I just mind my business scrolling through MandibuzzFeed, and the next, I’m reading headlines about tiny, robotic Hydreigon and gigantic, primeval Jigglypuff. I mean, I did see some unfamiliar Tauros and Wooper when I was there last week, but that’s classic regional forms. This article's wording made it sound like something else.

To answer your first question, yes Mega Evolution is allowed! Contests are all about the spectacle, pretty much anything you can do with a Pokemon that's not directly harmful is allowed. (My sister told me she once competed against a Muk that had been dyed red, white and blue.)

To answer your second question, I don't know! I think my old friends, Turo and Sada, might have messed up their research and caused... whatever this is.

also i'm awake so quick updates on pokemon mystery dungeon stuff!

i did my first... minigame? of being the "gatekeeper". and i did so fucking badly i used a save slot so thankfully i didn't have too many issues but i have no idea how the hell a child is able to figure out those footprints with barely any assistance. it was insane.

turns out i like the dungeon part more than i thought! i enjoyed actual missions, i think i just really didn't love the tutorial of this game but once you could take job listings and blitz through a dungeon in 30-45 or so minutes and finish up 4 quests at once i was SO in. i'm a very goal oriented gamer i realized i do this in sims 4 too

MAJOR NEWS!!! we got a new party member!!! he is a Wooper named Pebbles :] also Gooby is getting better about not killing himself with the Take Back (?) move and is using Ancient Power again (thank GOD), also he's insanely powerful and super effective moves against him will do like 4 damage to his HP which is crazy? except this one water type pokemon will annihilate him i forgot its name but that was bad. also Miette (me) keeps falling asleep whenever she combats a polywrath which sucks so bad bc then she just dies.

also i got Gooby a scarf that makes him not get poisoned which is majorly cool because that happened to him once and i literally could not save him like the opening of the game again SUCKS you have NOTHING TO USE!!! SO HE JUST DIED!!! :(

last thing but the guy who has the storage place for your items and calls you pet names genuinely brightens my life i love him with my entire heart i hope nothing happens to him :( he makes me feel so comforted... i was scared the game would take your stuff but i remembered it's a childrens game hes just so nice 2 me... i kinda like loudred too..

Pokemon Scarlet playthrough part the 8th: fighting a giant elephant in the dessert, finding a bunch more stakes, fighting a chef, and destroying a DJ's car with one kick

So I explored the dessert thoroughly, I'm happy I found a Larvesta and a Sandile (I love those Pokemon). Then I went to face the Ground Titan itself, the giant Great Tusk.

I knew going in to Scarlet that the Great Tusk was going to be one of the titans. So I was excited to face my first paradox Pokemon. Great Tusk looks super cool. I choose Scarlet because I like the past paradox forms more than I like the future ones.

When Arven strolled up and was like "the hell is that? is that even a pokemon?" I was like "duh it is a Pokemon" I mean Great Tusk really isn't that odd looking for a Pokemon, just because you haven't seen it before doesn't mean it's not a Pokemon, Arven. I think it makes more sense to say that for the future paradox version, because it's a robot.

So anyway the battles with Great Tusk went well, I do think I was pretty much on level here but it's hard to say for sure. I used my Rock Salt girl did the 'ol Salt Cure + staling strat. Arven's pokemon got targeted and got takened out almost immiodtly. My Rocky Helmet also helped immensely.

Arven's dog is now doing just a little bit better, and Kori can now glide. I still don't have swimming yet so I can't get to the dragon titan... unless I can get somewhere high enough and glide there. It's worth investigating...

After this I did the water gym test. Gym Leader just runs out and forgets his wallet so I have too bring it to him. His wallet looks like a Venonat, it's very cute!

So I had to go to that port town to get it back to him but luckily I've already been there so I just teleported there. I teleported to the lighthouse, climbed up, then glided around the town with Kori before I went to return the wallet.

After battling his rude assistant and giving his wallet back, my gym test was to win an auction. I wonder what the usual water gym test is because this whole thing is kinda spur of the moment. But I win and he tells me he'll be at the gym. The auctions are now open I tried a couple but backed up because the number went to high for me to agree to the prices.

I haven't explored the water gym's town very much. The sandstorm is killing my frame rate. So I'm to try to get it over fast so I can get my frames back. But I did find one of those ominous stakes behind the gym. I'm also overleveled and have both an electric type and grass type, this gym should be easy. I'll continue writing after I do that.

So I went ahead and fought him with my grass cat, as expected it was easy. I just kept using Flower Trick and knocked them all down like bowling pins, no Tera needed. Flower Trick is looking like a really powerful move what with always landing a crit.

I fought Nemona afterwards, she was also pretty easy. I didn't even really need a heal, the only damage I took from the Water Gym fight was from the sandstorm. Her Goomy caught me off guard because of Sap Sipper, but I still took it out in on shot with Night Slash. The rest also got taken down with Flower Trick.

Crazy Hair Lady, also known as Geeta, also known as La Primera, also known as Top Champion, also known as Pokemon League Chairwoman, has taken a real interest in me. She gave me Tera Blast which is epic, I have no idea who I want to put it on though, so It's just sitting in my bag.

The sandstorm was gone afterwards so I was able to explore the town for real. I met a girl who would trade Paldean Wooper for a regular Wooper. So I decided to briefly go catch one. But it became more than a brief trip as I started to explore an area I hadn't before. The area with the big swamp. There was a couple of old Pokemon I caught along with the Wooper.

But most interestingly I not only found the Stake I already some-what knew the location of and pulled it out. But I also found three more while exploring around. Judging by the looks of the door, which I was able to check, I only need 2 more stakes pulled out to open it.

So yeah, I'm going to do that Wooper trade, and then I'm going to go do my next Star Base Raid. Something funny I realized is that I've almost come full circle, I'm nearing the other side of Mezagoza, the area where the Bug Gym was. Maybe that's why everything seems kinda underleveled to me?

So I fought the Dark Star Base. They were very easy, lol. Indeed, it looks like places closer to the school are a lower level. My Flamingo took out both of the Team Leader's Pokemon in one hit, it was kinda funny.

So apparently this DJ guy was the student council president before Nemona. But the rules he came up with were strict as hell. Honestly, am not surprised people didn't like him for that. He seems to have chilled a bit since then. It seems he also made the rule about handing over Star Badges, I think.

I become more and more certain that Penny, Big Boss, and Cass are all the same person. I don't know why Penny's putting on such theatrics though. Penny maybe just call off Team Star? Instead of sending someone to beat them up. She also saying that she wants me to defeat her as well after I'm done with the others. I don't know what her reasons are but I guess I'll find out.

Also Kori giving her licks like a giant friendly dog is adorable! Next I'm going to go face another gym, I think it was flying? I should also be easy considering how close it is to the school.
