This game story may not be in harmony with the lore, but it shows Alucard just as beautifully. The voice cast, the gesture, the gothic beauty. His everything is majestic. Dracula is iconic as usual. We love the father and son duo 💙 of this game. Their dialogue exchanges. 😇

Atleast this is better than that cringefest.

Zobek for the ask thingy

The Bastard man himself, Zobek.

favorite thing about them: I do feel like he pulls off the villain Death very well. Like, He's charming and genuinely in LoS1, I didn't realize until much later in the game that he was actually the third and final Lord of Shadow!

least favorite thing about them: Why did Marie have to die for you to do your thing Zobek? Huh? Why did you have to mind control Gabriel in his sleep to kill both Marie and Claudia? Huh?

favorite line: ok. I can't find the exact quote without digging through gameplay footage, but in one of the much later loading screens of LoS1, which are narrated by Zobek, he says something along the lines of, "The Prince of Darkness arrives, with Death close beside him." Which is what clued me into Zobek not being who he was supposed to be.

brOTP: the other Lords of Shadow. They were definitely drinking buddies.

OTP: Weirdly enough, I don't have one with him. I could definitely see that, if Zobek didn't try to fight Gabriel and lived post LoS2, him and Dracul would become fuck buddies of sorts.

nOTP: Again, not really anything coming to mind really.

random headcanon: Zobek went into hiding for a little while, before coming back to the Brotherhood of Light, and he was the one who spread word of Dracul amongst the villages.

unpopular opinion: He doesn't swear much, if ever. Maybe a "Shit" or "Damn" or maybe "Bastard" on bad days, but like, I think he swore like... Once in game?

song i associate with them: I'll probably come back to this part, because I genuinely don't have a song in mind.

favorite picture of them: there's something hella unsettling with this image. Like, this is Death. This is also the best image of his true form from LoS1, because he looks a little.... Goofy in game.

I just saw the ask you got about N!Death and like... God, my brain really shut out his inclusion in the series.

But like? His plan to torture Dracula for all of eternity and use him to bring him souls to eat? So... Zobek, without any of the manipulative villain asshole charms.

Like, they literally made LoS!Death, but didn't have the budget to bring Patrick Stewart to the voice booth, so they made him THAT. But I do agree with you, his voice clips sound like they're from Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel.

Hazbin Hotel is NFCV if it was actually good (and had a slapper OST) 👍

Jokes that would get me doxxed out of Twitter aside, from what you say it seems that NFCV applied the "we will fix the stupid games!" process to LoS as well, except they were even more dishonest about it because they never admitted that they took inspiration from that series.

I don't blame you for forgetting about N!Death. While his presence was foreshadowed through all S4 (and ngl his Librarian form in the Infinite Corridor was pretty cool), S4 is such a snoozefest that it makes his grand arrival have the pathos of a wet fart. Great boss for N!Trevor to fight after twiddling his thumbs for 3 seasons :V

It doesn't help that he manipulates St. Germain for his plan, and St. Germain is S4 is... well, as I linked :P

The story is divided into three phases and ten arcs. The initial part of the story is all about the early interaction of Sesshomaru with the Soul Reapers, Hollows, and the Soul Society. It all started when Sesshomaru's Tensaiga was stolen by someone in order to lure him to the present in the Hueco Mundo where he met Tia Halibel who was looking for her missing friends Mila Rose and Sung-Sun. This phase will show the development of the main pairing along with some side pairings and conclude with the introduction of Infernal Demons and the fulfillment of the destiny of the Feudal Era.

Afterward, the story will move into the middle phase where Dracula, Zobek, Angels, and some more characters from the Bleach universe will make their debut. There will be serious changes in the Soul Society and with the arrival of the Quincies, things will conclude in the '1000 Year Blood War Arc'.

In the final phase, every mystery and truth will come out in the light and there will be a direct intervention of powerful forces of the world such as Gods, Satan, etc. in the lives of all of the main characters of the story which will be concluded by the 9th Arc, leaving 10th Arc for an encore.

I know a lot of people don't like it but Lords of Shadow has probably my favorite Belmont and Dracula. This man truly just wanted to live his life with the one person that made him happy and at every possible point was denied that. They lied to him about being able to bring her back, he got roped into becoming an immortal for the sake of the world around him, robbing him of the chance to see Marie in Death. They took his son into hiding and sent him to battle Gabriel and he didn't find out who he was until the man lay dying in front of him. He just barely managed to save his life, and the thing he became just wailed in anguish the moment he awakened. The world conspires to take everything from him when he wanted so little.

By the end of it he is brought into fighting alongside his most hated enemy, because Zobek promises that he can finally kill Gabriel and set him free. The world has ground this man down until he just wants it to stop.

Idea: Castlevania AU with Jaune as Dracula but it's Lords of Shadow

Jaune as a brooding traumatized and grieving Gabriel Belmont on a quest to bring his wife back to life. His journey as he slowly uncovers long hidden secrets and slowly doubts himself and God and ends with him hating everything and becoming Dracula.

Now all I need are characters to take the roles of Marie Belmont, Zobek, Carmilla, Claudia, Laura and Cornell

LOS Maria fic Chapter 2

The grand plan that was 500 years in the making worked with very minor hitches. Satan and Zobek had fallen, destroyed. For good. The plan only faced near failure when Alucard was possessed. Truly something he should have accounted for but the past cannot be changed. In his musings, Alucard watched humanity from the shadow he hid from. The mortals traveled with a lightness that could only come from the bliss of ignorance. It inspired envy in the safety it provided. 

The technology that humanity created, inspired by their creativity was limitless. Truly spanned as far as they could push the concept of possibility. Magic was pushed to the side, yet, or because of it life flourished by creating impossibilities. 

The Belmont duo settled in a town a far distance away from the castle and the city within. The town was built on the burned remains of a small village, once consumed by illness, then fire, and nature after that. The city was small to the one on the castle foundations but no less lively. The unnatural lights colored the night sky and hid the stars at night but light meant safety. The lively nature of humanity brought a smile to Alucard’s face. 

As is the case with every day, night soon followed. The moon shone in its full glory. 

Alucard lacked his father’s ability to travel in broad daylight, and necessity made him travel and wonder under the stars and moon. The freedom was all-consuming and worth more than any jewel he might see.

The town, given its historical and woeful history, had statues and memorials of those who helped the ill and pained. All of them were from different times in the town’s history, and the details of what they looked like became distorted. Too many bore the torches in their visages, hinting at the truth about fires. The names and the dates were written on placards next to them, but Alucard paid them no mind. He may have met them in his time of wandering the earth, but it was irrelevant. They were remembered for the fires. The moon’s light made it easier for him to see around him, and the calmness allowed him to sense if an enemy was approaching to ambush him.

Alucard found himself in front of a bronze statue, nearing two centuries old at this point. The dates carved into the statue told of a woman nearing her third decade, dying in 1800, yet the statue had her looking barely old enough to marry. There was a softness in her hair and face, and her hands folded in a prayer stance. Her build was thin, and frail, wearing a dress made of cloth, the bronze molded to be blowing in a wind that only the artist could see, and perfectly curly hair poking out of her hood. Her eyes were serenely closed. 

Alucard placed a hand over the placard, the words on it telling of a sweet person, who saw the best in everyone, staying with the ill and dying. He smiled wistfully. The sound of cooing doves caught his attention. It was rather strange to see a daylight creature singing at night. He looked towards the sound and saw a feminine figure wrapped in white cloth, with doves on either side of her. Blued steel covered her knees and shoulders, as well as the boning in a waspie, which was gold in color, matching a mental face covering, hiding her nose and mouth. Her hood was pulled over her head, her main cloth was white with black trim, and feathers etched into the cloth. She was perched on the roof overlooking the statue, too far away to see her eyes under her hood. The two figures looked at each other for a moment before she stood up and walked out of eyeshot for him. 

“There are many heroes memorialized here, and yet I find you at the feet of a saint.” The dragon, Dracula, Gabriel Belmont, said, breaking the silence. 

“I met her before the statue was built. The statue and sweet words written about her leave out her temper and how headstrong she was.” Alucard took his hand off the placard. “Her kindness could never be overstated.” 

“Then tell me what they won’t” Dracula smiled. “You’ll honor her better than that will.”

Ok. Last Lord of Shadow! Everyone, I want you to meet Zobek! This is the LoS universe equivalent to Death! He is voiced by Patrick Stewart and if Zobek was real, I would 💯 fist fight him.

He is in both games, because Gabriel didn't defeat him in the LoS1. He is Gabriel's 'ally' in LoS1 and helps him complete his journey. He is also the one who implanted it in Gabriel's mind that the God's Mask could bring Marie back. He is also the Narrator for LoS1. It gets revealed later on that Zobek mind controlled Gabriel in his sleep to kill both Marie and Claudia. He is the reason that Gabriel stopped sleeping. He also killed Baba Yaga for some reason? His necromancer underlings are also incredibly difficult, and one of them makes what is known as the Dracolich Titan.

Now, in the second game, he is a wealthy business owner, and has a Lieutenant that follows Dracul on occasion to help find the Acolytes. Zobek gets Dracul to help him by offering eternal death to him. He would use the Vampire Killer on Dracul, if he will help Zobek find and defeat the Acolytes. The Lieutenant, on the other hand, is stated to possibly be a collection of souls in armor that is forged by abyssal armor and uses the Masamune. However, at the end of the LoS2 DLC, where you play as Trevorcard and face off against the lieutenant, Trevorcard defeats them, and disguises himself as the Lieutenant to keep his eyes on Zobek.

In the end, when the last Acolyte is revealed and disappears to summon Satan, Zobek comes forth in the form to finally face off against Dracul.

This fight was SO difficult. It didn't help that the controller I had used, wound up stick-drifting. However, when Dracul defeats Zobek, they go to stab each other, and Dracul is just quicker than Zobek. This gives Dracul access to the Vampire Killer, to finally put an end to Satan and save humanity one more time. In the end, Zobek was a character that actually did fool me the first time I played LoS1. I genuinely thought he was a good guy, and it turns out, he was only using Gabriel to gain what he thought was the God's Mask, but instead was the Devil's Mask.
