Kinda reanimated of this clip from the finale.

It’s always wack how they animate his wings. Most of the time they don’t look like they’re a part of him. The clip above doesn’t really show it, but they don’t look right to me. Most of the angels wings don’t to be honest.

Also this rough animatic of Adam fighting chimera Charlie.

And a bunch of sketches.

Some Lute doots and demon Adam. Still working out her design. Trying to make the angels lean more towards birds with many of them looking like specific birds. May make her look like a shrike or some kind of raptor, but I’m still tinkering with it. Ended up accidentally making her look like an owl.

The more I write his character the more the more Homer references sneak in. I feel like it fits for how I'm rewriting Adam though.

Honestly I'd put in the whole episode of Homer the Heretic if I could, I think it really fits him.

Meet Vox!📺

Made my own take on Vox for fun! This one was really fun to do!📺

Wanted to go for a mix of 50s salesman and modern TV show host. He’s a man of show and business afterall!

Made his screen a mix of 50s TV and modern flat-screen . Show even with a his new trends, fads and updates he's still a product of his time📺

Replaced the bowtie with a tie. To parallel with my Alastor more and neckties were the iconic 50s vibe and allude to him being a big businessman.👔👨‍💼

For his color scheme, ngl I always liked Voxs, especially since it has good contrast to Al, @the-burd-lord suggested I'd go with RGB theme, colors on display screen. Ngl I was conflicted what colors to go with for the vees(Primary, Red blue purple etc). But then I realized when u mix those colors u get those other colors and then I decided to give the Vees two main color themes for each. One for show, the other their true colors! I also looked at 50’s colors for inspiration, mixing it with a more modern electric ZAP! ⚡️ also looked at his pilot colors.

Vox advertises with bright electric blue like cyan! In reality, he's a dark sad blue.

Val advertises with passionate and romantic red but really he's a deceitful toxic yellow

Velvet advertises with elegant purple/magenta but known truth an envious and materialistic green.

Wanted his look to parallel Alastors, keep the vibe of dressing like him but also looking like his own brand! Both have Wave symbols as well as symbols relating to their special media, Alastor radio 📻, Vox TV 📺. Power buttons on his suit, TV waves in his tie, like a satellite📡 🛰️ ,

even incorporated his Logo. Love it!!!! Wanted Vox to give off a newer, brighter vibe! Show he��s keeping up with trends more than Al, staying relevant. Like those TV product ADS!!!!!!!!

Added sharper edges! Sharp guy!

Gave him a bigger build. More square shaped square along with his facial features for a robotic feel◼️🤖📺

Went more with his old Shoe design, but made them white with red.also added more stripes like the OG.

Removed the top hat to make his antennae look like a hat itself, along with making the V symbol.

For his time the pinstripe suit Def fits him, removed the long coattails.

Small post on my redesign of Rosie. Decided to make her more like a vulture, specifically a Black Vulture as they’re known to engage in cannibalism. Not live cannibalism, but they have been seen to eat dead members of their own species.

It’s at this point I’ve realized how much I’ve made the cast more anthropomorphic, and it just kinda became unintentional cause I like drawin’ critters. But it’s also fun to give them more distinctive silhouettes and deeper meanings through using these animals. Even if most of them were from the original designs, it’s cool to give a deeper meaning to some of them.

Was originally going to make her a mantis, but many people have went the insect route. Also gives me another excuse to draw more birds.

Probably wouldn’t change much about her character, although I have leaned more into the Southern Belle aspect of her character. Also would get rid of the weird Bostonian accent she has in the show. As much as I like the voice I just don’t think it fits.

Some lil bonus info, cause I have also changed the town although I still have yet to make background redesigns. She’s still the head of the town and has overlord status, and she’d normally run it with her partners who always seem to pass before her. She will eat her deceased partners once they pass out of respect, and as a memento to them she keeps some of their feathers to use as the headpiece for her hat.

The town still looks and acts friendly under the guise of “southern hospitality.” Everyone in the town is also an animal that engages in cannibalism, so you’ll have the classic ones like mantises, frogs, and many fish species; but you’ll also find more unconventional ones like lions, leopards, and hamsters. All giving off the guise of this nice cute animal town that leaped out of a storybook, but in actuality is full of cannibals.

Making a post specifically on her and Alastor’s dynamic since I thought of a silly thing.

Within the dynamic of the gang it's assumed that Alastor is the most powerful within the group. This is until Charlie reveals her chimera form to destroy Adam. After this Alastor becomes slightly intimidated by her, but now knows that her powers are only physical. When in actually her true terror comes from her mental manipulation.

So another one of my inspirations that I neglected to mention in my last post for her was Paprika.

Absolutely love this movie and highly recommend you watch it! But one of the things I implemented into her character is her ability to wander into others dreams and even manipulate them.

She senses something is up with Alastor, and although she knows he has no desire to go to Heaven she wants to help anyway. Since he's hesitant about regular therapy, Charlie suggests her version of "dream therapy."

Suffice to say it does not go well.

He gets stuck in a seemingly endless loop of reliving his death at the hands of Charlie. With him sometimes ending back in the hotel and being offered dream therapy again and him denying and dying each time.

It's also just such a funny character interaction for Alastor to be afraid of Charlie, the one everyone assumes is harmless and could never hurt a fly.

It's also a show of the more Charlie becomes comfortable with her powers, and push towards getting directly involved in helping people, the more uncanny she becomes. As before purgatory she was always more of a passive character.

Alastor's show of affection is if he's willing to touch someone or not. There's also the humor in that they can't really kiss each other cause neither of them have actual mouths.

It's like when cats sit on the radiator to get warm. Watching his husband while he’s in charging mode cause he doesn’t need to sleep.

Don’t know what would fully be the buildup to it, but Alastor would eventually be driven to have a full breakdown wherein he is finally emotionally vulnerable to Vox. It’s the last wall in their relationship to break down as Vox was vulnerable with him, Alastor must also be in turn.

Dude still needs therapy though.

Might change the suit at some point, but this was done on a whim to test out colors. Think I finally nailed down her palette with the yellows and red trim and undershirt.

Since this was made on a whim. Unsurprisingly based it after limal spaces. Mainly the famed back rooms image and hotel hallways.

I want her to look like she made her clothes out of the carpets and walls.

She would eat the mildew from the rugs.

Design and flat colors for comparison.

Other variation with the yellow undershirt, but it blended in too much with the skin and made the reds pop in an bad way. She looked too much like wallpaper.

Also made her skin more pink, but to me it made the reds pop out in a weird way, and looked too organic. Although not gonna lie I’m kinda warming up to it. Let me know what y’all think?

Was going to put this in the big Charlie post but I reached the image limit, so I'm making it its own post.

Made a redesign of her battle armor from the Finale.

I have so many qualms with this design, the first being that it doesn't look practical as battle armor. It looks like nightwear more than anything.

@dnpanimationstudioclone recommended I base her design after a WW1 nurse and it fit her super well. Mainly to show how she's more support during the fight as she really doesn't have any physical attacks that aren't basic party tricks. For my rewrite it also harkens back to when she was a volunteer nurse during exterminators.

Decided to giver her extra armor with chin mail underneath, but it ended up accidentally looking like a crusader. Although the theming of a crusader doesn't work, visually it fits so I'm keeping it.

Love the overlord Nifty concept with her au and just went ham of drawin the sketches! Love having an excuse to make a wack creature design.

I like the integration of kaiju into her lore, especially since it was a genre that had gained popularity back then. And to add the theming of her character with them is neat :D

HUGE Spoiler alert!!!! Hazbin Hotel @the-burd-lord made these concept designs for me as a gift, I treasure them greatly💖 Their designs inspired from Centichoro from One Punch Man. The other character in the drawings is my take on Alastor!🦌📻

With the reveal of Husk being once an Overlord I like to believe the same with Niffty but rather than gained her power from souls(talked about this with @a-sterling-rose, she was an immensely powerful sinner like Alastor, but alas her form was far too big and scary for people to want to get close to and she was all alone…until Alastor came along and offered her a deal he’d provide a more approachable form in return for her eternal service).

One idea. I imagine she was once a regular sinner like everyone else but was still a centipede like demon so it wasn’t easy to gain peoples trust due to her scary appearance. But one day some overlord or jsut really strong demon or hellborn tried to attack her and in defense or just acting on first instinct…ate into them and ended up becoming stronger and scarier looking in the process, driving even more people to see her as a threat and try to attack only to well…think the Hungry Catepillar but more gruesome and scary.

I can imagine she used to live in the outskirts of the pentagram or underground somewhere as Centipedes can burrow. Occasionally some try to get close to gain power or try to kill her but failed. She was very lonely💔💔💔 Warning scary images.

A lot of her looks meant to be hiding what she is. Disguising her extra limbs as hair, her body’s color scheme based on a centipedes, poofy dress that could cover extra, even the bug design could be Interpreted as a long centipede. I was also going for a subtle sharp, mini legs for her apron ruffles, giving off her trying to look sweet and soft but could also be interpreted in another way…

I read and learned from a @lovesart23 redesign vid for her that, she was meant to be based on B-Alien Movies. LOVE that and I tried it myself(hardest part was figuring out what bug to make her and what themes to go with) but I ended up going for another Sci-Fi route. Kaiju/Giant Bug monsters. Creatures like Godzilla or those giant bugs creatures like “the Tingler” 1959(which was a centipede monster I read). I figure it’d connect well to both her struggles of fitting in but also her Japanese Roots.

There’s even a Yokai/demon based on the centipede known as the Ōkumade! I imagine Niffty’s true form is basically a giant monstrous looking centipede.

Finally am confident enough to post my redesign of Charlie. Buckle up cause it’s a lot!

Kept her simple since I think her original design is kinda alright, but went with the doll aesthetic more.

Made her design simple enough for it to stand out in most any environment within Hell. Should probably have made a colored version for her, but I'm keeping the white and pink from her original design, but making her outfit yellow to compliment the reds of Hell and the blues of Heaven.

Here’s the newest design although I'm still fiddling around with different variations for the marks on her face, shown later in this post. Might lean towards stop motion look with how the mouths of the characters are always a separate segment from the face.

Eventually she goes from bellhop to more of a concierge roll as she gains more confidence in running the hotel, and eventually becomes the defacto ruler of Purgatory.

More on that later.

Also lil Lucifer resign too. Might make a whole post about him, but the basics are that I decided to go more “biblically accurate” angel for him.

He made Charlie's body, with Lilith drawing up the design for what she would look like. Overtime Charlie got to choose what she wanted to look like. She has accrued many bodies over her thousands of years of living.

Their relationship is close as although they don't see each other in person as often, Charlie always makes time to have at least one phone call a week with her dad. Especially with his worsening depression.

He doesn't fully believe in the hotel idea, but he’s willing to support his daughter anyway he can. Although he is hesitant when she requests to have an audience with Heaven as he knows how fickle they can be.

Especially when her first meeting with an angel is spent talking about rock bands.

I also changed up what Charlie is as not only is she a doll, but she is also the manifestation of “free will.” Spawned from Lilith and Lucifer’s union being an action that goes against "god's plan."

Although she barely remembers it, her actions caused Adam and Eve to eat the apple. She partially made the hotel out of guilt for condemning humanity, feeling as though she has to make it up to the sinners she condemned.

This makes her super hesitant to push the patrons to get help as although she knows that it'll help them in the long run it must fully be by their own free will to want to change. This hesitance also leads her to not fully interfere in their afterlives either, even when she knows a push is all they'll need.

She is able to literally be anyone or anything, and she is scared of this fact. Kinda getting decision paralysis. Also being that she is a being made out of pure energy this essentially means she's a bomb.

This is the result of what happens to her once her form is broken.

These are the old designs, went with a more streamlined look later.

Heavily inspired by the final form of the Princess from Slay the Princess. A game I highly recommend!

When in her "chimera form" she accidentally kills Adam, leading her to take him on as a guest at her hotel. It also leads her to convince Heaven and Hell to use Mount Purgatorio for her new liminal hotel. Kinda using Adam as a bargaining chip to show heaven that if angels can fall, then that doesn't mean sinners can't climb up the mountain to Heaven.

Overtime, with more horror influences I kept adding into her character and design I accidentally just made her into a creepy doll with some analog influences.

(It's almost like my subconscious is trying to tell me something 🤔)

Vaggie and her scary gf.

Decided to go for a more psychological route for Charlie’s abilities and personality. On the surface appearing normal, but still standing out in most environments because of her simplicity. That there's just something about her that doesn't quite fit anywhere.

Her character finally clicked for me after watching Paranoia Agent. She's not really based off any characters from the show, but some of the themes and imagery are baked into her character.

Along with the banger opening.

Eventually she builds her hotel in purgatory, and essentially becomes its ruler. Much to the chagrin of Heaven, who still only sees her as a demon. Even though she was technically born in the heavens.

Even though Charlie uses Adam as a bargaining chip they don't really care that he fell. But they don't want to be proven wrong either, so they reluctantly agree to the idea.

Also lil bonus of Charlie and Vaggie in nightwear. Gotta make another post for Vaggie, but I’m still working some things out with her story and character.

I apologize if so much of this post made no sense. I didn't realize how much I had written for Charlie. Although makes sense as she is supposed to be the main character.
