The way Will Smith has been treated after the Oscar incident, compared to how Ezra Miller is getting treated shows the vile double standards present in Hollywood and society; it screams white privilege.
The double standards in Hollywood are blatantly clear; it merely takes someone with eyes and a brain to see it.
I do not agree with either of their actions, but in terms of who should be ostracised from Hollywood, it should definitely be Miller not Smith.
R.I.P lookieheremanimtiredsoshutup, gone too soon😔💅
So I wanted to know how long it took for Thetis to write Patroclus’ name, and she mentions that Pyrrhus was dead and that was the reason for her visits to Achilles resting place…
On google it says Pyrrhus died when he was around 46; meaning that Patroclus’ spirit was left wandering/trapped between worlds for 34 years!!!
IT TOOK 34 YEARS FOR PATROCLUS AND ACHILLES TO BE REUNITED!!
Someone tell me rn that I am wrong because this is destroying me😐
I just read tsoa and I have thoughts so more under the cut if you wanna read
- at first I thought Patroclus was a bit empty as a character but as the book went on I realized that he didn’t seem to have a lot of good qualities because that’s how he sees himself and the book is in his pov
-There’s only one bed in the cave oohhhh
- Patroclus is so down bad
- He’s more “submissive” than in other tellings of the Iliad
- I thought there would be way more sex scenes considering what people have said about the book but the ones that were there were nice (although I really would have appreciated an olive oil lube reference)
- Patroclus is so relatable with wanting to die after doing physical activity lol
- It was good at the beginning, meh in the middle and great at the end
- If I didn’t get the fact that feet were used as a metaphor for weakness I would have thought Patroclus had a foot fetish. He talks about Achilles feet all the time omg
- The way Achilles was so playful as a kid (pressing his nose against patrocluses to wake him up, tugging his feet) but is changed by the war but Patroclus still loves him all the same.
- The parallel between Patroclus helping Achilles put on his armor and then kissing him before the battle and then Achilles doing the same for Patroclus.
