A piece inspired by some tags under one of my posts left by @stillangelxx (sorry 4 tag)
Explanation and very long Help Wanted 2 speculation rambles under cut
This rough piece can be taken as just your usual "save Cassie" AU, because it was kinda inspired by that- BUT it was made with some of the ideas left by Angel in mind, which were basically; What if Help Wanted 2 was split POV between Gregory n Nessa, and Cassie- where Cassie thinks she's the good guy and Gregory is the antagonist in her POV, only for it to be the complete opposite. It just,,, became way more disconnected from Help Wanted than it was supposed to- but it'll probably make more since if you read the thoughts I had to flesh out the idea, which are right below the line-
Honestly this whole piece was made as an excuse to ramble about the idea and my interpretation of how it could go as a (current)believer that HW2 is directly after Ruin, but then it got way too long to just add in a reblog- so now we're here with an original post instead!(hope that's alright,,!)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wrote all this at like 3am so cut me a little slack if some of it is incomprehensible- I tried cleaning it up but it's still late so I might not get some points across right
-------
Basic premise: Split POVs between 3 star fam and Cassie, where the 3 star fam has minigames much more grounded in reality as they venture through the ruined Pizzaplex in search of Cassie, while Cassie's minigames are much more VR/AR based as she finds herself wandering the underground of the Pizzaplex, just barely having made it out of the elevator crash alive, and now finding it hard to distinguish reality from VR/AR. -------
Gregory and Vanessa POV ideas
-Gregory and Vanessa's minigames are more Ruin based, little sections of them trying to survive the many threats of the ruined Pizzaplex. Though some fall into more classic Security Breach territory due to VR/AR shenanigans - -Their "Glitchtrap" is M.X.E.S, and their "tapes" are Parent Nodes. M.X.E.S is not a threat in the same way Glitchtrap was, just a looming figure trying to guide them down to the M.X.E.S room and getting stronger the more Parent Nodes they reactivate. - -Their POVs main hub and select screen area is probably a cam station near the entrance of the Pizzaplex - -We switch between playing as Nessa or Gregory depending on the level and the gameplay can switch up accordingly. Sometimes we're Vanessa trying to protect Gregory, sometimes we're Gregory trying to survive on his own, etc. Freddy might also affect gameplay, whether that be for the better like being the thing protecting us in the minigame, or for the worse- like somehow accidentally bringing more attention to us and making the minigame harder.
-------
Cassie's POV ideas
-Cassie's minigames are MUCH more VR/AR based, way more centered on the past games, specifically stuff like Sister Location and maybe Pizzeria Sim. - -She's having a hard time differentiating VR/AR from reality - -Her POVs main hub is probably either the room with the elevator or the Mimics lair where she first encounters him(speaking of which I have no clue where he went here but he's gone for now(physically at least)) - -Her "Glitchtrap" could be Gregory calling out to her, an illusion of him created by the VR world that's almost always there in the "main hub", while the voice is actually him- the echos of his calls just barely reaching her and repeating in her head, being embodied by the illusion of him creeping around in the "main hub". He's being genuine with a concerned tone asking where she is, but she thinks he's trying to trick her- probably back to finish her off after she survived the crash. - -Not sure what her "tapes" are… maybe things explaining patient 46/GGY/Rab that only further her thinking he's the antagonist? - -It's kind of hard to tell where Cassie is irl in the heavily VR/AR minigames, but if you look close enough in each level you can piece together where she is and how she's progressing through the undergrounds of the Pizzaplex
-------
The game has three endings; It ends with 3 star fam and Cassie meeting up in the M.X.E.S room, and branches from there.
We can see it from either POV depending on what POV we're in when activating the ending. 3 star fam enters M.X.E.S room and go to turn them back on, when Cassie ambushes them, jumping out of the Mimics lair and confronting them, starting a tussle with Gregory. There's no boss fight, just different outcomes to the confrontation depending on a few factors;
You 100% complete Gregory and Vanessa's POV and activate the ending before finishing Cassie's POV
You 100% complete Cassie's POV and activate the ending before finishing Gregory and Vanessa's POV
You 100% complete both POVs before activating the ending
Ending 1. Vanessa reactivates the M.X.E.S before something bad happens and M.X.E.S intervenes. Whatever "intervenes" means is up 2 you cause I can't decide - Ending 2. Cassie gets the upper hand(maybe literally if she has the Mimics severed hand as a weapon) and wins the fight. Again, whatever "wins the fight" means is up 2 you cause I can't decide - Ending 3. Gregory is somehow able to convince Cassie that he isn't the antagonist before something bad happens and they make up, turning the M.X.E.S back on and exiting the Pizzaplex
And honestly? I can't see any of these being canon- They're just kinda basic outcomes to the fight, but I can't imagine any of them being canon and where the next game would theoretically pick up from- Most likely it'd be something like "Gregory and Vanessa make it out almost unscathed, but aren't able to convince Cassie to come with them as she's still so stuck in the VR/AR world and the idea that Gregory is a bad guy, and she becomes the antagonist for the next game with this game being the build up to her next appearance and a deeper dive into her as an antagonist" That's what I think would make the most sense at least!
-------
ANYWAY!!! UHM-
If you're here then- thanks for reading my rambles!! Saw Angel's tags and immediately my brain started going crazy, and this was the result lmao
Don't really know what else to say other than credit to Angel for the initial idea, anybody else who's reading this should definitely go show them some love because her art is REALLY good!!!
Also hype 4 Pax West lets fucking GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I RARELY see people tackle potential parents for Daiya and Mondo, so here they are!
I imagine Cassie met Hideo when she was in high school, but Hideo was a lot older than her. Regardless of that they hit it off fairly well, but things started to sour once Daiya was born. Hideo was a more distant father and refused to run his family's motor business beyond riding a motorcycle, so he refused to take any jobs while Cassie was left jumping from position to position. Despite that, I think Daiya still really looked up to Hideo as this cool mysterious figure. Whenever they'd talk it'd be about manly shit. And bikes. So it was all the more traumatizing when he fucked off a few months into Cassie's second pregnancy. Daiya was 7. I picked the name Hideo because its meanings both fit him, and are DEEPLY ironic (excellent, fine/outstanding, hero, manly, husband, and man). It was just too perfect.
Cassie's dad studied abroad in Canada for a while, and while he was there he met the woman who would be his wife. She didn't have much family left in Canada, so they moved back to Japan shortly after Cassie turned 3. I think their relationship was far more loving and they both gave Cassie their all, but they pressured her in her schoolwork and her relationships, and that began to dominate over their love for her. I think Hideo led them to disown her due to the path she went down after meeting him. She was starting to reach her boiling point with him, but after he left, she couldn’t take it anymore. It was the straw that broke the camel's back, and Cassie began to take it out onto Daiya shortly after Mondo was born in a combination of anger and stress. She was never violent with him and broke down crying more often than not, but she still heavily pressured Daiya into becoming a better man than Hideo was and getting frustrated whenever he or his interests were mentioned.
Daiya ran away when he was only around 12, and Mondo was 4. It was impulsive and remained incredibly complicated until he died. A lot of Hideo and Cassie's personality still stuck with Daiya despite everything, and some of their teachings were passed down to Mondo (Did I base most of Cassie and Hideo on that one line of dialogue in the Ch1 investigation? Yes). Mondo doesn't really know what either of them look like aside from fuzzy memories of Cassie, but I do think that they know who Mondo is all too well. Hideo mostly doesn't care, but I think that time spent alone made Cassie feel like she could've given them so much more. She wants to reconnect with Mondo, especially after Daiya's death, but she has no clue how to do that, so in the end she just never even tries.
Design wise I wanted to make it clear that Hideo is. Kinda a scumbag? I don't think Cassie ever finds this out, but he's absolutely cheated on her at least once. Very real chance that Daiya and Mondo have some siblings out there that they don't know about. I also wanted him to be a pretty big influence on Daiya's style of dress, hence the hair being similar to a pompadour.
Cassie was designed to have a lot of features that'd be considered charming. She's got the big ol' doe eyes with subtle heterochromia, she's got freckles, a cute little nose, a rounder facial shape, etc. and etc. Like if i designed how she looked in high school before she entered her deeply problematic relationship, she would have to look really sweet and cute.
I'm a big fan of the idea that the orange part of Mondo's hair is actually the natural part, and it grew back out after she dyed her hair to look more like Daiya's, so she started to use that part for the pompadour instead. She also got Hideo's eye colour and pupil shape, nearly his exact skin tone, his nose, and Cassie's slightly rounder face shape, albeit a bit taller.
Daiya got a very similar hair colour to Hideo, nearly his exact facial structure, a mixture of both Cassie and Hideo's skin tones, Cassie's freckles, her big ol doe eyes plus their hazel colour, and her nose.

Alright, so I put together a Twitter thread about the recent queerbaiting that DC has pulled with Stephanie Brown and Cassandra Cain. It's an interesting and frustrating story so I decided to repost it here. There is a demonstrable shift in how the two have been written in Future State and beyond. This is a long post but I wanted to be thorough.
First, some background: One thing that frustrated a lot of fans about Steph and Cass's friendship between Batman and Robin: Eternal and the beginning of Joker War was that there wasn't much interaction between them at all. They became friends off-panel,  and Cass and Steph's relationships with Harper and Basil, and Tim respectively were much more heavily focused on than theirs. This led to the finale of Detective where they embrace feeling a little hollow for some. This changed w/ Joker War where we finally saw them being friends and they first started building hype to what seemed like an inevitable “Batgirls” comic.
Tumblr media
It should be noted that this period where they weren't interacting much was also the time where we first got textual indications that they're both attracted to women, though it was never "confirmed" in that exact language.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alright, preamble out of the way, let's get into the issue at hand. The story starts with Future State, which is really the REASON why everything else is so bad. The bait here is INTENSE. Throughout the story, Stephanie CONSTANTLY uses terms of endearment that are... well, it's literally just flirting. While it might seem like just taunting at first, the fact that she keeps doing it AFTER dropping her act says otherwise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This alone would've been pretty blatant subtext... BUT the comic goes further once Cass starts opening up about things. The implication is extremely strong here that the two were romantically involved before and, by the end, are heading towards that again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this point, the only thing keeping it from being official was confirmation BY the writer and sure enough... The editor for Batgirls posted this panel in direct reference to the upcoming book and the Future State writer retweeted it with the bi pride flag colors and two girls holding hands.
Tumblr media
That last bit is VERY important to remember going forward because some of what I post after this might not seem like bait out of context but remember this is the expectation Future State set: that Steph and Cass WOULD eventually get together.  With that in mind, let's look at Batgirls. First, the backup story leading to the ongoing comic itself, which features lots of affectionate body language and Steph and Cass sharing a bed at a hotel. Not inherently bait but in the aftermath of Future State it comes across as a reinforcement of what that comic had promised.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the comic itself, the most bait-y stuff isn't in the pages of the comic but in how it was promoted. The solicitations talk about "their love for each other" and how laying low is "that much easier to bear because they have each other".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Variant covers added fuel to the fire: Steph and Cass holding hands next to a pair of conspicuously rainbow-colored skis and Cass falling asleep on Steph's shoulder could be dismissed as a coincidence, but having them write "XOXO Cassie+Steph" on the Valentine's Day cover is... less subtle
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Within the pages of the book itself, the baiting is more restrained, restricted to Steph using some of the same flirtatious language as in Future State and a rather suggestive panel of their faces VERY close together as Cass holds Steph affectionately.
MOST of this stuff isn't particularly egregious individually, but when put together shows a clear pattern, and so it shouldn't be surprising that when THIS line showed up in the solicits for Batgirls #9, a lot of people had some hope they were FINALLY doing something.
Tumblr media
But nope. The solicitations for the next issue confirm that what's ACTUALLY happening is that Stephanie is being paired with a new male love interest who, based on the cover, seems to be Kyle Mizoguchi, brother of Maps Mizoguchi from Gotham Academy.
I think with all that put together there's a pretty clear case for this having been intentional bait on SOMEONE'S part. It's pretty frustrating to have your hopes built up (even to the tiny degree I allowed myself to hope) only to have one of the characters paired with the most random man possible.

The one reason why I liked Euphoria
Even though it's been a while since the show aired, I think it's important to talk about this at any time. Euphoria's not perfect. It sure has it's flaws, especially the S2. But that's not what this post is about (I'll get to that some other time, don't worry). What I wanna get into is one of the things I liked about it and the number one reason why I feel like it's important to watch.
All the characters you go through the story with are flawed, that much is obvious. Rue has mental issues and grieves her father's death, both of which she deals with by taking opioids. Jules has mental problems and a very complicated relationship with her own body. Cassie has dependence issues. Maddy has a toxic image of herself in her mind she wants desperately to achieve. Lexi is ignored and not appreciated and uses her bitterness to make the infamous musical. Kat has her internalized misandry. Cal has personality problems and a hidden regret for not being ever able to explore his relationship with Derek. Nate has the toxicity of Cal's views of the world to fight with and is scared to explore his own sexuality because of it. Fez can't escape the net of drug dealing he was caught up in as a young boy. Ali became an addict as violent as his father - the one thing he swore he'd never be.
What's the interesting part - what makes this show so fucking significant - is the fact that there is a great effort to tell us precisely why the characters are the way they are. What made them struggle and be imperfect. They've taken care of that by making every episode's prologue into a summary of each character's backstory. Now I'll admit - they aren't all 100% equal in quantity, some characters are given more space than others, especially in the overall story arch. But it's close enough to equal (in the S1 at least) for everyone to be able to get a good picture of them all.
This aspect of the show is by my standards the most fundamental part of it. I believe in determinism (and incompatible free will, I'll get to that in a moment), which is a term that gets misunderstood a lot, so let me explain it really quickly. Determinism states that all events are determined by the previously existing causes. That means everything that happens did so because of something. A person builds a house because his previous one got blown off by a tornado, for example. Now, determinism applied to people's actions (and there it gets to my own personal understanding of the term) means that everybody is not only heavily influenced by their surroundings, but actually our surroundings ARE what makes us. Everything we are, everything we do in life, is based on something or someone else. Every decision we make is acting upon our belief system that was created from our life experience - what our parents tought us (conciously or unconciously), what we learned at school, what people influenced us. Every time you decide to do something, the 'free will', as we call it, is actually just a bunch of patches of your life experience and knowledge and all of that is created by the context of your past. Taken to the extreme, I don't think we have any free will at all. This is of course highly philosophical and in real life people couldn't act upon this (by which I mean act like nobody has a free will and thus can't be responsible for their actions), because we wouldn't be able to function as a society. But that doesn't mean it's not true. For example every murderer, every rapist, every person deemed by society as 'pure evil' did what they did because something drove them to do it and they weren't able to decide otherwise because of their life experience. What they did was bad and it should be dealt with in some way, and although I firmly believe that punishment is not the answer, it is true that we should react to a bad behaviour. And we should do it with as full as possible context in our minds.
That's what I love about Euphoria. They tell you about the characters' actions, whether they be good or bad, and let you base your decision of what to think about them on what they've been through and on the real reasons behind what they're doing. That's also what made me actually like all the characters, not just have my favourites. Even though we might not like what they're doing throughout the show, their actions can be neatly traced back to their backstories, and yeah, I know this should be a standard in writing, but it sadly isn't, so I'm really glad to be able to experience it in the show.

Hi! I've been in the Hannibal fandom for two years now. Rewatched the show many times and yet Will Graham still confuses me like no one else. Hannibal's design is complex but somewhat understandable after watching the show again again. But Will's design is like a loophole. He can empathise with the killers. That means he can understand them. If he can understand them then why does it feel good for him to kill them? How does it work for him exactly. Does he feel for the killers? If he felt for the killers then what about his violent tendencies towards them?
I've always thought that he is like a God. A God of the killers. The killers offer him their design and he takes sacrifice in return of understanding. But how does his psyche work exactly?
Hello! Oh yes, Will is a very confusing character - it’s his defining trait, and I think that’s because he lies to himself, to others, and to us as an audience. He wants one thing, wants to want another thing, does the third thing, and making sense of it is a complex process.
I think Will’s empathy is a big red herring. I agree with Freddie here: he understands killers because he’s one. He has an almost supernatural gift that helps him recreate the situations almost exactly as they happened. He understands what motivates killers, he might sympathize with them, but I think he might also envy them their freedom to be what they are. They are a reminder of what he is and what he can’t allow himself to have. But most importantly, they are a way for Will to find a compromise with himself and feel better about his true self. Killing bad people is an excuse to justify his darkness, but I don’t think it’s a part of his design per se.
I agree with you that Will is like a God - he and Hannibal both are. That’s one of the things that separates them from others and elevates them above everyone else. Let’s make an overview of Will’s victims.
1) Hobbs. Hobbs was a monster and Will killed him. But it wasn’t about justice and righteousness, not according to him. Killing a person and feeling pleased that you saved someone versus liking the act of killing itself are drastically different things. Many police officers have to kill in their line of duty. Very few of them get off on the act of murder. Those who do are killers, and they are especially dangerous if they immediately try to follow it up with another murder. Will never once says he liked killing Hobbs because he made this world better. When asked, he says that he felt a sense of power. This is a motivation of many actual serial killers. If Will was just glad that he saved Abigail, he would know it's normal. He wouldn't have been almost on the verge of a break-down and haunted by Hobbs. So it’s not about helping others, it's about murder, even if the victim was a monster.
2) Stammets. Will had no reason to try to kill him (which he admits to doing). Based on his and Hannibal’s talk, he understands that he just wanted to feel what he felt after killing Hobbs, and this makes him panic. So again, no someone. He’s chasing the high of killing someone, and Stammets is the most appropriate victim.
3) Ingram. On the surface, it looks like Will wanted to avenge Peter and himself by proxy, hence pulling the trigger on Ingram. However, after Hannibal manages to stop him, days later, Will complains about losing a chance to feel how he felt when killing Hobbs. Murder high is his main motivation again - everything else is background or an excuse, depending on your reading.
4) Randall. Will threw away the gun on purpose to make the murder more intimate. This is not about justice and this is not about protecting himself because by doing this, he reduced his chances. Will also beat Randall up until he wasn't moving. There was no reason to snap his neck. Mutilation, cannibalism that followed, keeping his suit, admitting he enjoyed the murder and calling it his design - this is about murder and WIll’s love for it primarily. The design part is especially important: based on it, we can conclude that Will loves a performance just like Hannibal.
4) Chiyoh and her prisoner who Will set up. Chiyoh was innocent and didn't deserve to die. Her prisoner might not have been guilty - in fact, Will was the one to suggest that, and yet Will still set him up. It was a game and he was an observer - he lied in waiting for Chiyoh’s scream. He then turned the body of a losing party into art. Very creepy and very like Hannibal.
5) Chilton. Will clearly explained his motivation: he wanted Chilton to pay just because he wanted to be famous and messed with Hannibal by writing his ridiculous book. Will showed no remorse and admitted he did it on purpose.
6) Police officers he set up to be killed by cooperating with Francis. The ones he stepped over without a second look. They were innocent and they were a collateral damage. Will is a cruel God who doesn’t bother with mere mortals as long as it fits his purpose. In this case, his purpose was freeing Hannibal. Everything else was still a blur in his mind.
7) Francis. Enjoyed the murder, admired the blood, called the situation beautiful.
8) Bedelia. She's innocent in comparison to Will and his body count. If Will faced no repercussions and continued getting more and more people killed, she had every right to go free. But God doesn’t have to be fair, and Will proves it by targeting her.
What does it all say about Will’s design and philosophy? Apart from Godlike attributes and indifference toward collateral damage, I think Will is led by his bloodlust - he just tends to control it and direct it at specific targets.
Will might prefer to kill “bad people” in the first two seasons, but it’s the process of murder that excites him. So I see his righteous choices as a preference that helps him justify his dark nature partly, not the core reason for his violence. Hannibal seems to be moved by his interest in human nature and his hunter instinct, but Will, I think, is a truer killer because he actually feels drunk on murder. Unlike Hannibal, he looks downright euphoric when/after he kills Randall and Francis. In TWOTL, Hannibal is more focused on the fact that his dream came true and he and Will killed someone together, but Will seems primarily caught up in the murder after-shocks themselves. Hannibal thinks about Will, Will thinks about how beautiful blood looks under the moonlight.
So, post Fall, I believe that at first, Will will stick to killing bad people like murderers, but once some times passes, his need for justifications will fade. He’ll move on to rude people, only his rude will differ from Hannibal’s. Hannibal doesn’t differentiate between genders and ages, but I think Will will. He’s interested in a feeling of power, like he himself says, in a sense of dominance, so he’ll look forward to a fight. He won’t be interested in attacking a teenager like Cassie, for instance, because the power imbalance is too prominent. But as soon as someone more equal does something Will heavily dislikes, something that wakes his bloodlust (a personal insult, physical or verbal abuse toward other people/animals, etc.), he’ll attack. He’ll be careful - he knows how to avoid being caught, but it will still be unpredictable and passionate. Will is a storm to Hannibal’s calm.
Then there is unpredictability. Hannibal tends to plan everything methodically. The only times we see him being impulsive is in Europe, where he’s descending into self-destructive mode, so it’s not a norm for him. For Will, though? Will consists of unpredictability, and Hannibal is fascinated by it.I think Will is going to kill when an impulse strikes. For example, he might go shopping, without having any dark plans, and end up murdering someone because the circumstances pushed some unfortunate soul onto his path. Will might or might not display the body depending on his mood. Today he can be in an artistic mood, but tomorrow he’ll be in a violent and impatient one, wanting to destroy the body entirely and leaving a total mess behind.
How Will would prefer to kill? In my opinion, in an intimate way. It doesn’t mean he’ll be weaponless, but something like a knife would fit his tastes well. He’d be able to feel it plunge into his victim’s body, tearing through skin and muscles, etc. - personal and intimate. Akin to what he did with Francis - his feral half-snarl, the way he paused after stabbing him before opening him up - it was dark and mesmerizing. Will might get into strangling, too, because it takes a lot of time and it is even more intimate. It might end up being his favorite. So, I can see him using his hands or small weapons to fully sense what he’s doing to a victim. This is something that he has in common with Hannibal because from what we saw, Hannibal also enjoys more intimate and prolonged murders that give him a glimpse into a person’s pain and struggle for life.

Idea for a DC Comics Event Comic: “What if the super villains were the ones that go through a civil war between them instead of the heroes?”
Rather than an idea for the actual published material we get from the mainline of DC Comics as of ‘Infinite Frontier’and their upcoming ‘Dark Crisis’ Event this year, this pertains to a long series of posts on my blog in which detail an outline what I would’ve done if I were Editor-in-Chief at DC back when the 2011 reboot was initiated up to the present day. Needlessly to say, there’s already a lot that I have proposed and discussed among my colleagues and mutuals on this website. From the actual books in this hypothetical reboot that launch at first, ideas for storylines across various titles and much more, this hypothetical thought experiment has seen plenty, even it’s own first event comic ‘Dawn of Fire’
(More under the cut)
For reference in what this post relates to and for much more added context, the following links embedded in the titles should help with that:
- Initial Books, Teams , Creative Choices and Pitches for a reboot under my watch plus ‘Dawn of Fire’
- My ideas for the Superman books expanded.
- Blue Beetle book conservation between a friend and I.
- Nightwing: Clipped Wings and the crossover in the Batbooks it leads to, Blue Hawk Down. Plus this saga’s Big Bad and it’s aftermath for the Titans books.
I’m sure I missed a post or two but enough riff-raff, to catch us up to speed at this point
+ While the wedding set up at the end of ‘Dawn of Fire’ between Nightwing and Starfire will still happen down the line (Personally, I’d have finally go down with a four part crossover of Issue #75 of Starfire, Nightwing, Titans and Justice Titans, but we’ll discuss that later, patience ;-) ), delays and events in their in the meantime persist.
+ On that note of delays and events, Dick has decided to temporarily drop the Nightwing mantle due to the events of Clipped Wings and Blue Hawk Down until his emotional and mental health can recover. I’d decide to have him basically written out of the books until the the time is right. Till then, he’ll mostly focus on running Haly Circus whom he now has ownership and recently gave them a permanent home in Bludhaven. In Kory’s case, due to related to events on a joint Titans mission on Tamaran, she still operates as a local hero of Bludhaven by daytime while taking a temporary leave from the Titans for her own emotional recovery. In Dick’s place in protecting Bludhaven at night and leader of the Justice Titans, Tim Drake volunteers in taking the mantle. Terra (here heavily based on her 2003 Animated series counterpart, post-Judas Contract but kept hidden in-universe of this reboot out of guilt for what she did under Deathstroke’s apprenticeship)  will take over Kory’s role in the meantime.
+ Since Tim has taken over the Nightwing mantle, Damian returns from his solo hero work in Dubai, UAE back to Gotham to fill in as the Robin that fights alongside Batman. Young Justice though is still also led by Tim, though now that leadership is shared with Cassie Sandsmark aka Wondergirl.
+ Meanwhile, the ‘B-Team’ Titans are split up with Troia, Bumblebee, Herald and Tempest on one side, still operating under the traditional style of super heroics when crime fighting whereas Red Arrow, now going by Arsenal, has splintered off into his own faction of quasi-antiheroes including his ex Cheshire to partake in more proactive crime fighting measures, often more harsher tactics and intimidation stopping just shy of killing their enemies.
+ Finally, the Flash aka Wally West, recently traveled through space and time to pick up the Silver Age Teen Titans out of their time period into the current present in which they elect to stay and do what they can to both set this future right and learn from it to ensure such mistakes won’t happen once they return home; Tempest serves as tier mission control and teacher. As for Wally though, during a storyline in The Flash book, he loses his connection to the Speed Force and inadvertently gave it a super villain in a otherwise successful gamble to save his family.
Now for the build up to this event; Ever since the ending of ‘Dawn of Fire’, with so much of the Commonwealth's technology and pockets of mystical energy spread across the globe, numerous Earth based super villains have trying to get their hands on it for the individual and nefarious goals. For the longest time in this rebooted timeline, a good portion of the villains operated with insurance and protection under the Secret Society of Supervillains, an alliance between Lex Luthor and Ra’s al Ghul for the purpose of being an effective counter against the Justice League and the Titans. However, even prior but especially after the events of ‘Dawn of Fire’, a fracture begins to form between the two leaders of the Secret Society; Ra’s pertains his methods for the well intentioned goal of ensuring the planet’s environmental future even if human civilization and advancement must be dialed back a good bit while Lex firmly is set on a goal of having Earth become the primer planetary superpower of the DCU with him and himself at the helm.
The two begin forming their own core teams and alliances with other villains that match in line with their respective goals or at least a stronger connection with. As this went on, shortly after the events of Blue Hawk Down conclude with one of the hired villains from that arc, Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke the Terminator, realizing via the super villain grapevine of this shifting and splintering of villains into alliances. Once approached by agents of both Ra’s’ and Luthor’s factions on which side he can join, Deathstroke bluntly tells them both to not be approached again or else suffer consequences. He has no desire or time for this petty squabbling, he’d rather stick with an agenda of his own, operate on his own accord. Over time and the over the course of the leading up into the event proper, Slade is joined by more other like minded villains with have no desire to join Ra’s or Luthor; eventually this group forms into a faction of their own, equal in number and power to Ra’s’ and Luthor’s, with Deathstroke at the head of it despite not realizing it.
Thus, in the final two months before the event begins proper, the Secret Society of Supervillains is dissolved, leaving in it’s wake three villain groups:
The Light; Core members including Vandal Savage, Queen Bee, Cierce, Professor Hugo Strange, Ocean Master, Black Adam, and Ra’s al Ghul all each sharing common leadership. They are the ‘Anti-Villain’ faction, villains who do their deeds for a well intentioned or at least a reasonable enough cause. In this case, they share a common goal of bringing human civilization in which a more utopian vision in which lives in perfect harmony with the planet itself, seeing both Lex’s faction and the ‘Detective’s’ (Batman’s) Justice League as obstacles.
Definace; Deathstroke’s not so merry band of uncooperative villains who have no desire to join either Ra’s or Luthor, connected via their shared mutual defiance (as per their faction name) to anyone or anything lording over them. Above all else, these villains are in a meta sense the ones that were formally introduced from 1980 onward, representing the second half of DC Comics history, Deathstroke himself being the most prominent and one of the first. Other villains in this section include but are not limited to Blockbuster, Victor Zsasz, Maxwell Lord, Bane, Brother Blood, Anarky, Livewire, Lobo, The Wildebeest Society, The Fearsome/HIVE Five (Gizmo, Jinx, Mammoth, Psimon and led by Phobia) and Prometheus.
and lastly,
The Legion of Doom; Led by Lex Luthor with core members including The Joker, Cheetah, Sinestro, Gorilla Grodd, Black Manta, and Giganta, this group is the ‘Classic Villain’ faction in which through their own goals, agendas and in the Joker’s case a craving for fun in the chaos that comes from it all, they serve Luthor’s goal of turning Earth into an intergalactic superpower with him at the top, crushing any to all opposition that will stand in their way. Other notable members of this group include Doctor Polaris, Doctor Light, The Turtle, Captain Cold, Deadshot, Killer Frost, Solomon Grundy, The Penguin, Weather Wizard, Metallo, Parasite, Intergang, Amazo, and so many more.
As tensions rise between these three groups with their members from each running into one another during schemes and plots, an unwillingness to cooperate against the heroes and numerous conferences and reconciliation attempts ending in failure, a tiny spark can ignite this powder keg into an explosion of a crisis unseen in the DCU. A spark one final faction will use to its own advantage.
That group being the Court of Owls.
This cabal armed with highly skilled basically-immortal assassins at their beckoned call, for the longest time a true challenge for Nightwing and the Justice Titans, can see the figurative overcast, dark clouds gather and rather than go dark themselves until either an inevitable war or even peace between the factions eventually come through , they will instead initiate an incident that’ll get the factions to destroy one another , leaving only them as the premier foes of the heroes instead.
Thus, I now introduce this hypothetical Reboot’s second major event comic
WAR OF THE VILLAINS
In basics layman’s terms, the Supervillain equivalent of Civil War.
  - Much similar to ‘Dawn of Fire’, Issue #1 of this event is released on Free Comic Book Day
- In said first issue, an inciting incident begins the event proper when two D-List members of the Light and the Legion of Doom collide with each other during a plot in Bludhaven. Despite Nightwing!Tim’s efforts to quell the fighting and take them both down, one villain maims the other. Very quickly, almost over the course of a week, the two villain factions come to a head over this incident and it quickly escalates from there. Soon other clashes and incidents between the Light and the Legion of Doom start breaking out across the world, each with further damage, injuries and other grievous results. Finally, a chance meeting between Ra’s Al Ghul and Lex Luthor in light of the growing incidents, one last attempt to broker peace between them takes place at LexCorp HQ. To put mildly, it fails miserably, ending with Luthor ordering his security to fire tranquilizers at Ra’s with the latter naturally escaping. With that, The Supervillain Civil War has formally and finally begun, Ending issue #1
- While the four way war between Luthor, Ra’s, Deathstroke and the Court is indeed the main driving plot of this event, our focus characters will be Tim Drake, Roy Harper, Wally West and Dick Grayson with themselves, their respective teams and almost every hero they know in turn caught in the crossfire.
- As the plot and the conflict between the villain factions advances with all that it entails, our protagonists find themselves confronted with either a call to action that builds on their character development over the past few issues (ex. Dick overcoming of his trauma and self doubt now being brought up to its conclusion with a realization of needing to be the Nightwing people need once again) or a wake up call to their faults in which only worsen the crisis at hand (Roy’s Arsenal Inc. and his anti heroic attitude making him and his team prime targets for the Light, especially once Cheshire turns on him to join Ra’s)
- Issues #2 through #7 will focus on the various large scale battles between all four of these villain factions with further escalating actions and measures that put our hero protagonists both caught in the process but also steady yet assured character development based on the above described recent arcs and actions they themselves have taken.
- Also akin to ‘Dawn of Fire’, each issue Post-Free Comic Day will be release weekly, with a base price of only $0.99. The event will last a grand total of eight issues, taking only two months for completion.
- Writing duties for this event will fall upon one of the following three candidates: James Tynion IV, Greg Pak or Gene Luen Yang
- As for artistic duties, once more the eight issues will have four artists, with each one doing the artwork per two issues. In this case: Issues #1 and #5 will be done by Phil Jimenez, #2 and #6 by Eddy Barrows, #3 and #7 by Guilem March, and finally both #4 and #8 will be done by Greg Capullo
- Issue #8, the climax to the Supervillain Civil War with a final battle in Bludhaven will come down to a final four way duel:
Ra’s Al Ghul Vs Deathstroke the Terminator vs Lex Luthor vs The Court of Owls’ most well known Talon, William Cobb
…..Here is where another shoe drops; Starting from Issue #1’s up till Issue #7, an election for the fans will have these four and their respective factions be voted. The votes are submitted via online, by mail or submitting it directly in local direct market comic book shops. The winner of the fan vote will win the final duel, their faction being the ‘winners’* of the event, their respective villain team being once and for all the supervillain counter to the Justice League
*Only for the winner of the duel to turn around and find himself facing…two Nightwings, Tim and a returned Dick Grayson…also a Wally West with his connection to the Speed Force restored during the main series and Roy Harper back in the Red Arrow suit once again…along with them, their many, many, many friends, teammates and allies surrounding the victorious villain faction. Cue massive curb stomping that drives off all villains and the heroes triumphant
- For the aftermath, Dick, Wally and Roy finally return to their respective roles, reconciling and moving on with each of their respective issues with themselves and their friends, all rejoining the Titans once again. Starfire also takes a role once more being part of the Justice Titans full time.
- As for Tim Drake, while Dick does offer to split the Nightwing mantle between the two of them equally in light of events both here and in the run for the Nightwing book starring Tim, the latter politely declines, promptly and proud returning to the Robin mantle full time, rejoining both Batman and YJ.
- As with ‘Dawn of Fire’, other than the above and the winning villain faction being the JLA’s now most persistent antagonists, War of the Villains does not result in a reboot but a subtle amount of changes to the status quos of every single DC book in the line.
- That said though, unlike ‘Dawn of Fire’, this event does have tie-ins for a good portion of the books on the line; the main event mini series is the core with most of the actual character development and story of importance whilst the tie-ins simply expand it, taking a look at key skirmishes between villains of each respective hero that’s crossed over. For example, for the tie-in of the Wonder Woman book, it sees her trying to stop the fight between Dr Poison versus Maxwell Lord OR for Action Comics with each member of the Superman Family taking on key villains of their rouges gallery. However, none of the tie-ins should have critical plot points or contradictory elements for the main mini series
If you have any comments and constructive criticisms about this idea, I’ll gladly take them and then some. Likes, Replies and ESPECIALLY Reblogs are highly appreciated.
Thank you for your time reading this.

I'm still pissed off with the way Kon treated Steph when she was robin. Did he expect by interupting Steph out of nowhere and pushing her to speak will gain him an answer? He only cares about Tim, even justified being rude to the other batfam is alright. Actually I'm glad that Tim's paired with Bernard in his coming out issues, instead of Kon. Kon would be a possesive boyfriend, the one with terrible relationship with his boyfreind's family/friends.
Okay so like, I'm totally with you on the "Kon treated Steph as Robin in a super shitty way and that was uncool of him to do" concept, but I feel like the conclusions you're jumping to based on that are devoid of like... context. As if you're looking at just those few pages of him talking to her from Teen Titans Vol. 3 #13 and taking it at face value, rather than looking at it in context of the whole Teen Titans run up to that point... at least that's the way this reads to me.
Because while it doesn't excuse the behavior, there is context that's important for understanding why Kon is lashing out at the thought of Tim suddenly not being around, and it's not him being overly possessive or really even 'only caring about Tim'. At that point in canon, Tim is the only other person that knows Lex Luthor is one of Kon's genetic donors. This is their secret and something weighing very heavily on Kon (for good reason- Kon's fears about it do later come true), Tim suddenly not showing up and being apparently replaced by Steph means Kon needs to deal with it alone. That's what's got him so freaked and why he's lashing out. Again, not an excuse to be a jerk to her, but it very likely would not be his default behavior without that circumstance and I think trying to use this situation as a judgement of how Kon would be as a partner with Tim is unfair because of that.
In his actual longstanding relationship in canon (the one that wasn't with a woman way too old for him) with Cassie, he's... really not possessive like that. He's protective, even before they started dating during parts of the Young Justice era (because ya know Kon's previous girlfriend was murdered in front of his eyes while Cassie was present, that leaves some scars), but he's really not possessive or anything like that, not in any sort of unhealthy way. I think like, sure maybe back with Tana he could be more possessive (but in that same era Tim very much so was with Ari too over in his solo- that's much more of a 'how relationships were written in that era' thing than anything about either of them specifically as characters) but that's something that didn't stick around long as a trait.
Honestly off the top of my head I can't recall much about Kon's interactions with like, the Wonderfam while he was dating Cassie aside from Wonder Woman throwing him off the roof in TT Vol. 3 #5 (but that was like, before they were more officially officially dating and more so because Diana was mad Cassie was involved in the Titans at all), but overall there wasn't any specific animosity that sticks out to me. The only partner’s family he ended up on bad terms with was Tana’s because of how she died in a situation involved with him, they blamed him for what happened to her (this is something we’re told not shown though, in Superboy Vol. 4 #75)
idk, overall I just feel like while the first part of what you said is solid (because the way Kon treated her was shitty!) the rest of it is jumping to a lot of conclusions/the reasoning doesn't really add up. Like I think it's fine to be happy about Tim with Bernard instead of Kon if that's what you prefer, but liking it just to shit on Kon for this one specific situation feels really off to me.

I'm curious about the three bots you talked about do you mind explaining it to us more and draw them?
YES YES YES
Thank you anon I needed that reminder!!
To start off with: They already have names! The one Ford and Cassie are with is named Turing. The one with Compton and Helmut is Lovelace. And the one over with Bob and Lucy is Winograd, but I'll mostly be calling it Win-0 for ease.
Let's get into depth on these bots!!
TURING
(He/It pronouns)
To start off with, my inspiration for Turing's appearance is both Mo from Wall-E and Gir from Invader Zim. Turing is a small little guy and I love him so much.
Tumblr media
He’s got the same big head and big eyes as GIR. Very cutesy sorta fellow.
Tumblr media
Mo is this little dude, and I’m taking inspiration from the bottom half for that idea.
To quote my notes: “Turing is a pretty simple, first-string machine. It's designed to be a good buddy and a bit of a drone worker, so there's a lot like it around. Machines like Turing are found mainly on the red line, since that's where the most movement is needed. He looks like you'd expect machinery from Otto to look-- Retro futuristic, silvers and a tinge of color for style.”
My sketch really quick of how I view him is this:
Tumblr media
As you can tell, he’s a really small guy-- About the size of Dogen or the llike. The hat is still up for debate, but he’s mostly silver with a little bit of red, and he definitely has claw hands.
~
LOVELACE
(It/she/them pronouns)
My inspiration for how Lovelace looks is very likely based on the game I recently played, Tangle Tower. Specifically, Flora Fellow and Penny Pointer.
Flora has one specific animation I’d like to reference: Her hair animation.
Tumblr media
She’s nowhere near as grim as Flora, though, so another character I reference for her appearance is Penny.
Tumblr media
So, y’know-- As you can tell, she’s very flowy. Another thing I’d reference is fashion mannequins-- Though I’m not sure why. I don’t really know how to design her as well as the other two, to be honest...
My notes: “Lovelace is found on the green line, and is wearing flowing cloth. This model is frequently used to understand motion, plans, and to guide people through the museum. Lovelace can be overprotective of Otto. Even so, it does relax with the help of Helmut and Compton, and it shows them the real issues. This one is more electrical based, and it tends to move Very Fast around the place-- Helped by the monorails everywhere found by the green line.”
...To be honest, I’m really bad at drawing her, but I wanted to keep the electricity vibes throughout. More like 0tt0 in Cosmignon’s ideas, with metal hair like mail clerk fordbot. Mitten hands for sure.
Tumblr media
~
WINOGRAD
(It/them pronouns)
Win-0′s appearance is a lot harder for me to nail down the inspirations, but I know a couple places I get it from. First off, Hugo Cabret.
Tumblr media
I just really like a good clockwork automaton, y’know?
Another reference is the steampunk aesthetic of things. Win-0 is very steampunk in appearance, and might even appear a little like Cogsworth from Beauty and the Beast-- Short and stout, but very clearly not amused with these guys.
Another of the references I think I’m clearly leaning towards is an old book I read as a kid-- The Clockwork Three.
Tumblr media
That clear steampunk look, and the gears, and all that.
You could also say it’s referencing Steam-Powered Giraffe. Mostly with the brass goggles part, hehe.
My notes: “Winograd, or Win-0, is designed with a heavy emphasis on sight, and has brass goggles. Win-0 can be heavily judgemental of others, but it's one of a kind, designed with a more... clockwork focus. Win-0 is found on the blue line.”
Win-0 is one I can see very clearly, but... I actually can’t draw them, since I lack that ability. I wish I could, but... Nope. It ain’t coming to me. Sorry u_u;;
Thanks for asking about them! I’m happy to talk, though it might include a little bit of spoilers for my future ideas.

i knew you (ron weasley x reader) part 13
part 1/masterlist
summary: Ron inexplicably broke up with Cassiah Black of Slytherin house just days before their final year at Hogwarts, leaving them both with broken hearts and no future plans, but too stubborn and too proud to fix things. Will they find their way back together before the year ends, or will the end of their time at Hogwarts be the last time they ever see the each other?
general fic warnings: smut, drug/alcohol use, language
CHAPTER 13 - screaming color
But it's not forever But it's just tonight Oh, we're still the greatest The greatest ___________________________
Ron had avoided hanging out with Cassiah for a few days after the naked Quidditch incident. Frankly, he couldn't shake the image of her naked body out of his head and he knew he'd start blushing tomato-red from head to toe the moment he looked at her. Cassiah knew him so well and was so good at reading people that she would have known instantly why he was flushing. Just the idea of that brand of embarrassment had Ron's face flaming.
He recovered from his funk fairly quickly though, aided by copious amounts of bud and extensive, vivid sexual fantasies about imaginary women. Embarrassing? Yes. Effective? ...Also yes, apparently.
Just in time, too, because there was another Potions test coming up that week and after his humongous flunk on the last test, he needed Cassiah's help more than ever to bring his grade back up. She was such a good teacher; she was always so patient with him. In the past, she'd rewarded correct answers with kisses or by removing articles of clothing, but Ron had a sneaking suspicion that was off the table this time.
The point was, no matter how smart Cassiah was and how easily this stuff came to her, she never for a second made Ron feel stupid. On the contrary, she made him feel confident. She was the first person to ever make him realize that he was smart; he was a great communicator and very intuitive. Just because he wasn't a good tester didn't mean he wasn't intelligent. Cassiah had told him that he was smart in ways she could never be. That made Ron feel good.
And if Ron did a little advanced reading before their scheduled study session just to impress her... that was nobody's bloody business.
Despite the fact that he'd spent the last few days completely entranced by the thought of Cassiah, Ron actually felt pretty relaxed on his way to the Slytherin dorms. Even when there were underlying and confusing thoughts, things felt natural between them. There was an organic quality to their dynamic that he didn't even realize himself and wouldn't have been able to describe even if he did. All he knew was hanging out with Cassiah was easy and fun.
_____
Cassiah was surprised to find that Ron had beaten her to the dorms. She could see his ruffled red hair from down the hall, waiting out in the hallway for her to let him in. While Cassiah knew the password to the Gryffindor dorms ("Quidditch" wasn't super difficult to guess), Ron had no idea what the Slytherin passcode was. Because of Ron's never-ending feud with Malfoy, they hadn't hung out in the Slytherin dorms often enough for her to bother telling him.
They always studied at night, after the library was closed, so common rooms were pretty much the only option. This time around, however, they were meeting in the Slytherin dorms because Cassiah really didn't feel like running into Ginny or Hermione sober. This left Draco as the more amicable option, and he'd agreed to basically vacate the premises or hide in his room while Ron was there, and make sure the others did the same. The promise that he wouldn't get called a blood traitor by any random students really eased Ron's nerves about coming to see Cassiah in the dungeons, and he'd agreed.
And now this was going to be their first time hanging out alone since the breakup.
"Hey Ronald," she said in greeting, bumping into him lightly. "You weren't waiting long, were you?"
"Only a couple hours; don't worry," Ron deadpanned in return. She punched him in the arm – a very hard, muscled arm – for his sarcasm, but she also couldn't help but laugh. He never failed to make her laugh.
"Shut the fuck up," she shook her head, but she was smiling widely as she leaned in and whispered the password.
"No way! Your password is Quidditch, too?" Ron gasped with excitement as they stepped into the common room.
Cassiah looked at him like he had seven heads. "Merlin, no. Are you hard of hearing, Weasley?" she teased, "It's in Latin. It's practically impossible to guess unless you speak the language. Which I clearly don't, based on my marks in that class."
"Bloody hell, Cassie. You got a B–. Plus, we were fourteen. That was four years ago. Quit it with the melodrama," Ron rolled his eyes but his tone was playful so Cassiah knew he wasn't actually annoyed. She could probably count on one hand the number of times Ron had been genuinely annoyed with her.
Cassiah huffed and placed her books down on the coffee table, organizing them in neat stacks: "Just sit before I change my mind about tutoring you."
"Yes, sir," Ron joked, carelessly dropping his beat-up book bag onto the floor beside the couch and scooping out the contents before plopping them haphazardly onto the table. Cassiah winced at the pile of crinkled papers and bent notebook covers. Ron was so messy sometimes.
Cassiah wasn't a neat freak herself, but she liked to keep most of her belongings in pristine condition. She squinted and was pretty sure one of the notebooks had "PENIS" scrawled across it in Ron's abominable handwriting and then "BOOBIES" in Harry's neat block-print. But what else could she expect? Sure, they were in their last year and not children anymore, but Ron and Harry were going to be like this forever, probably.
"Where do you want to start?" she asked Ron, flipping through her notes quickly. They were color-coordinated.
"Everything," Ron grumbled, "I don't get the whole lot of it. Even when Neville and I are paying attention, I only remember the stuff when I'm doing it, and then I forget it the moment we walk out the door."
"Must be all the weed," Cassiah teased. But she was also probably just the slightest bit right.
"Very funny," Ron snorted, "Seriously, though. I have some notes, but I just never can tell what the important stuff is going to be, so I just end up copying almost the entire thing and I'm back at square one."
"Okay," Cassiah leveled with him, "Then we'll start at the beginning of this unit and just try to decide what's going to be important enough to be on the test. We'll focus on actually remembering the stuff later. Now c'mere."
Ron scooted closer to her on the couch and leaned over to share the textbook. They worked quietly for about forty minutes, completely focused. They had always worked fairly well together. Ron even corrected Cassiah on a few things, which made his chest swell up with pride.
After they finished one of the chapters, Ron leaned back against the couch, exhaling heavily. "I'm getting hungry. Do you have any study snacks?" he asked. When Cassiah just looked at him for a moment, he shrugged his shoulders, "Nevermind, I brought my own."
He reached into his bag and produced a whole array of sweet and salty snacks, spreading them out on the coffee table on top of the notebooks. "Snack break?"
"I guess it wouldn't hurt," Cassiah wagered, "Oh! Do you have–"
Ron beat her to it, holding up a bag of butterbeer popcorn. "Of course I do," he grinned.
She squealed with delight, grabbing the bag and opening it immediately. "Mmm," she murmured as she popped the first one into her mouth, "I hardly ever have these but Merlin they're good."
"Oh, trust me. I know," Ron agreed, stuffing his hand into the bag on Cassiah's lap, causing her to shriek and giggle as she batted his hand away.
"It's so good to be hanging out again," Ron said after Cassiah's laughter died down, "I really wasn't sure if we ever would after everything that happened."
"Well, we were friends first, right?" Cassiah gave him a half-grin through a mouthful of popcorn.
Ron scoffed. "Yeah, but I wasn't sure if you were going to ever want to be friends with me again after the fit I threw over you and Malfoy," he explained, and then fell silent. After a moment, he asked cautiously, "Whatever became of that anyways? When I asked him about it he just gave me some vague, non-answer about your relationship not being what it appeared to be."
Cassiah was floored. "You talked to him?"
"Long story. But answer my question!"
She sighed. "Well, I guess his answer was right. Draco and I were never like that in the way that you thought. We're just friends – entirely platonic."
Ron furrowed his brow, clearly perplexed, "So you guys never...?"
Cassiah snorted, burying her face in her hands in embarrassment. "Merlin, no, Ron. Nothing romantic ever happened between us. Or sexual, for that matter," she reassured him, and then added, half under her breath, "Nothing sexual has happened for me in a looong time."
"Hah. Me neither," Ron groaned, leaning back in his seat a little bit.
Cassiah's eyes widened a bit. She wasn't entirely expecting Ron to hear her. But to hear that he hadn't been with another girl was definitely an interesting surprise.
Ron must've been thinking the same thing: "I kind of would've thought that you would have, you know, been with someone. Malfoy or MacMillan or someone. I mean, guys were always hitting on you even when we were together. You have plenty of options."
She raised her eyebrows and grunted, "No opportunities have really presented themselves, unfortunately. It's just me and my lonesome."
Ron chuckled at that. "Bloody hell, tell me about it," he murmured. He waited a second, considering, and then said, "It's really hard, you know? Going from have sex every day or at least once or twice a week to just... nothing."
"Yeah, I'm sure it's really hard," Cassiah joked and Ron shoved her in the arm for her pun. "But I know what you mean. Sometimes it drives me crazy. I got so spoiled that now I feel like I need sex and I can't have it."
Cassiah looked up from her lap to see Ron's face aflame, suddenly aware of how close together they were on the couch. Ron was clearly caught off guard by how candid she was being about her needs. She knew she normally didn't talk like this, but he'd started it and it felt good to just vent.*
"That was never our problem, was it?" Ron said. The sentence itself was a joke but his tone was completely serious. "Sex, I mean..." his tone was gruff, almost a whisper.
Cassiah felt the energy shift in the room and her nerves start tingling. "No," she manages to squeak out, "Definitely not... You knew me in that way like nobody else."
She could've sworn she heard Ron let out the smallest groan. He always liked the praise.
Cassiah looked up at him through her lashes, feeling her heart pounding in her chest and hearing both of their breathing become a bit ragged. Ron was staring back at her with a look in his eyes that she couldn't quite comprehend. Needy but also controlled and–
"Oh, fuck it," heard him mutter and suddenly his hands were grabbing her face and his lips were crashing into hers and bloody fuck this time it was real, not a dream or a memory.
His hands on her face and gripping the back of her hair were rough as his lips slid against hers, his tongue licking against hers.
"Oh, Ron," she murmured into his mouth immediately and he let out a loud, unbridled groan at the sound of his name on her lips. That sound sent heat straight in between Cassiah's legs and she rolled her hips into the couch.
"C'mere," he growled, his voice gruffer than she'd ever heard as Cassiah felt his big hands grab onto her waist and roughly guide her into his lap. She let out a low whine when she could feel his length already hard and pressing up against her core. She rolled her hips down and shocks of electricity sparked through her body as she felt his hardness brush against her through the crotch of her leggings. The friction was so delicious that she kept rolling her hips again and again with Ron's hands on her waist guiding her in the figure eights he always used to like.
"Bloody fucking hell. I didn't know how long I've been wanting this until now," Ron panted, thrusting his hips up to make contact with the apex of her thighs. Cassiah ground down against him, coaxing a long, low moan out of him.
Ron reached up and moved his hands from her hips to her breasts, squeezing roughly and kneading his fingers into her flesh through her bra. He pulled the hemline of her shirt up to reveal her bra and then pushed her bra down as far as he could. He licked a circle around her nipple before roughly sucking it into his mouth, flicking his tongue over it again and again. Cassiah tangled her head in Ron's hair, panting heavily as she watched him. He was looking up at her with big blue-green eyes as he sucked her nipple into his mouth.
And then she was tugging his head back up to her mouth, reconnecting their lips briefly before pulling away again to say breathlessly, "Get me ready for you, Ron."
Rom growled, and Cassiah felt him throbbing at the mere thought of being inside her again after so long. She felt his lips trail over to the nape of her neck where he began sucking a harsh mark in just the right spot to send shivers down her spine. He licked a thick stripe over the mark before quickly turned to suck the lobe of her ear into her mouth.
"Ah," Cassiah gasped, the combination of his tongue and his hot breath on the shell of her ear making her wetter by the second. She could feel her slick forming a wet stain on the lap of Ron's slacks but she knew he'd love it when he realized. There was never anything that turned him on more than seeing how wet she got for him.
Cassiah didn't let up on the rotation of her hips on his thick length. She could feel him hot and ready in his pants. She had half a mind to climb off him so she could unbutton his pants and take him into her mouth so she could hear him completely lose control, but she wanted him inside of her even more.
She reached down in between them and cupped him over his pants, causing him to hold his breath. She gripped his length and gave it a squeeze. It felt huge and hard even through the fabric and Ron sucked in a breath at the contact.
She kept rubbing him in circles through his pants, pressing her thumb over where she knew the tip was every now and then.
"Harder. More. Tighter, fuck, Cassie, please," Ron was chanting, his lips still attached to her neck, which was covered in huge, dark bruises by now. Just the thought of that had her growing slick.
She pressed harder against his length, now running her hands up and down his shaft through his pants. She couldn't stand the tension and heat in her core anymore and started grinding down against his thigh as best as she could.
"Bloody hell, are you getting yourself off?" Ron moaned and when Cassiah gave him a wicked smile in response, he gripped onto her hips hard enough to bruise and let his head fall back as he let out a long, quiet "fuck yeah."
"You're so dirty," he continued, his voice ragged and rushed as Cassiah kept rubbing him faster, "So fucking desperate for me that you're fucking yourself on my thigh. I'm gonna make you feel so bloody good, Cassie."
His filthy words sent fiery heat all over her body and egged her on.
"O- Cassie, I-" Ron stuttered bucking his hips against hers. "Stop stop stop stop, I'm–"
But she didn't listen. His whines and his hot breath were too delicious and sinful for her to just stop. She never wanted him to stop making those greedy little sounds. It was rare he completely lost control like this.
And then she felt him go completely rigid, his fingers digging into her waist and his head falling back as he let out a choked "Ohhhh" and squeezed his eyes shut.
She didn't realize at first and kept pumping him through his pants until he rushed to say, "Merlin. Stopstopstop, just– Give me a minute, bloody hell..."
That's when she felt the rapidly growing wet spot on the front of his pants, and it wasn't from her. She stared down at it in shock. That had certainly never happened before.
When she looked up, Ron's face was flaming red. Before she could say anything, he was grabbing the blanket off the back of the couch and shoving it over his crotch as best as he could with Cassiah still on his lap. "B-bloody hell, Cassie, I'm so sorry. You know I never do that; it's just been so long that I just couldn't hold off. I-I tried to tell you to stop but–"
"Ron," she soothed, giggling softly, "It's okay."
"It's bloody humiliating. I'm a grown-ass adult and I just shot a load in my pants."
"Felt good though, didn't it?" she asked, and Ron nodded enthusiastically. "Plus," she added, "You know you'd think it was hot if I did that. And I happen to find it unbearably hot when you can't control yourself because I make you feel so good."
Ron stared up at her, the mischievous glint beginning to return to his eyes.
"Prove it."
Cassiah grabbed his hand from where it was resting on her waist and took two of his fingers in her own. She guided his hand down into her leggings, slipping his fingers under her panties. She shimmied a bit and then swiped their fingers through her sex. He groaned when he felt that she was dripping for him between her legs, his fingers becoming coated in her slick. They brushed against her swollen clit as he removed them from her panties and Cassiah let out a needy, high-pitched whine.
Ron locked his eyes with her and he brought her fingers to his lips, sticking them in his mouth and sucking them clean of her juices. That visual paired with the intense eye contact had Cassiah's sex throbbing between her legs.
"Wh-" she started, her voice shaky, "Why don't you take care of me until you're ready for round two?"
"If I fuck you after I just came I'm gonna last–"
"I know," Cassiah blurted out and blushed, ducking her head in slight embarrassment at the memory. There was a time over the summer when they'd gone for a second round immediately after Ron had finished and he'd lasted so long that she'd come about four times before he'd finished and she'd actually been crying from how oversensitive and fucked out she was.
"You naughty little slut," Ron murmured, his eyes bright with admiration, "I'm going to make you scream."
Before she could even respond, he grabbed her and swung her around, pressing her back into the cool leather of the couch as she pinned her wrists above her head with just one hand. She struggled against him, loving the thrill of the fact that his one hand could hold her down.
Ron roughly pulled her leggings and panties down in one motion, leaving them pooled around her ankles as she wrapped her legs around the back of his head.
She crawled up so her core was aligned with her face and he stared at her wetness with a hungry, animal look. He licked his lips and groaned, "Fuck, I missed this pretty pussy."
He delivered a tiny slap to her dripping lips and clit before running a finger through her slick and spreading it over her swollen clitoris. She was already a needy mess under him, whining and whimpering.
"How fast can I make you come for me?" Ron wondered aloud, "No one's touched you like this in so long." He circled his finger over her clit at an agonizingly slow pace and she rotated her hips, signaling for him to spread up.
"Have you been touching yourself?" he questioned her and she nodded quickly and desperately, wanting to answer his question so that he'd pick up his pace and give her a release.
"Merlin, you're so bad, Cassie. Such a bad girl, I fucking love it. I'm gonna fucking destroy you," he promised and she moaned.
Ron sped his fingers up to a torturously fast pace and Cassiah felt herself hurtling towards the edge. Her legs started to shake uncontrollably and her thighs clenched around Ron. Her back arched and her head shot back as she chanted, "Ronronron, bloody hell, I'm coming, I'm coming Ron..."
He kept stroking her through her climax until he could tell her was done, completely spent and relaxed back against the couch. But he wasn't even half done with her, and she knew it as he loomed over her, shucking off his stained slacks and his wet underwear.
He stroked over his aching cock as he towered over her, already hard and leaking at the tip after she'd made him come just minutes ago.
"On your hands and knees," Ron demanded, pumping his thick length expertly in his hand. Cassiah felt her heartbeat between her legs at the sight of him touching himself and immediately moved to follow his orders.
Cassiah braced herself on her elbows, leaning to arch her back and push herself closer to him. She looked back over her shoulder and saw Ron shifting to move up behind her. She bit her lip and looked up at him.
"Fuck," Ron murmured at the sight. "Get ready, baby. I'm not going slow with you," he said as he linked his tip up with her entrance.
"Would never want you to," she countered, pushing back against him, silently begging him to put it in.
Without any warning, he thrust into her in one push, giving her no time to adjust and as a result earning him a winded, shrill, "Ron!"
She could hear him chuckle slightly behind her and knew he smiling as he palmed the thick flesh of her ass in his hands, kneading it between his fingers as he caught his breath.
"Merlin, Cassie, you f-feel tighter than ever," he stammered as he started moving his hips, keeping up his promise of not going slow with her. His thrusts were short and rough. When he hit the right spot deep inside her, Cassiah cried out and pushed back against him to take him deeper and he kept up angling for that spot, earning the same reaction every time.
"Merlin, Ron, right there," she begged, circling her hips, "Please don't stop. Keep going."
"I couldn't stop if I wanted to baby. You feel so good," Ron responded, the loud smack of his hips slamming into her over and over echoing throughout the room.
Cassiah began to whine almost non-stop, obviously losing control, and he quickened his pace and went even harder on her than before, knowing from experience that this was just what she needed to come.
He leaned over her, his chest hovering just over her back so that he could place sloppy kisses along the back of her neck and her shoulders. She turned her head to kiss him but Ron had reached underneath her to begin playing her clit and instead, her mouth fell open and her eyes rolled back into her head. She came hard with a sob, her walls pulsing around.
But she knew Ron wouldn't be done with her yet. He started back up with slower, more thorough thrusts, pulling almost all the way out every time before pushing back in at an agonizing pace, but still just as hard as before. Their bodies jerked with every movement.
Ron fathered Cassiah's hair in a fist behind her head and yanked, pulling her head back and coaxing a sharp cry out of her. He was finally able to kiss her, and he pressed his lips sensually to hers. She moaned as he licked into her mouth, just as needy as she was.
She could feel her third orgasm coming on and knew that she wouldn't be able to hold out or handle another afterward. She clenched around Ron, circling her hips in rhythm with him, and panted, "Come for me, Ron. You know you want to. You've made me come twice, you're gonna make me come a third. You deserve it."
She knew his praise kink would take him right over the edge and it did. He let out an earth-shattering groan and cried out her name, finishing inside her and giving a few final thrusts before going still and collapsing on top of her back. They stayed there for a moment, no sound but the sound of them catching their breath for several moments.
"Bloody hell," he panted, peeling himself off of her sweaty back and sitting back on the couch.
She gingerly sat up too, still over-sensitive, and faced him. "You can say that again," she murmured.
"Bloody hell," he repeated, and Cassiah barked out a laugh, weakly punching him in the arm and telling him to shut up.
"You're so right," she conceded, "We may have had little disagreements every now and then, and you had to do what was best for you and end things but... Sex was never our weak point."
"Definitely not," Ron agreed, pushing his sweaty hair back off of his forehead before starting to get redressed. "Merlin, can we please keep doing this? I don't think I'll be able to handle it going back to my hand after this. I had no idea how much tension had built up until now," he admitted – more like pleaded.
"One hundred percent. Trust me, Ron. You know I always needed this just as much as you did," Cassiah said, fully dressed and pulling her hair on top of her head in a messy bun. "We just have to be cool about it. Friends can definitely have passionate sex and then be just that – friends," she explained to him, but it felt more like she was trying to convince herself.
"Totally," Ron was quick to agree, staring forward in a sexed-out daze.
"So long as nobody finds out, there will be no weirdness. Just two friends who also happen to enjoy having sex with each other in secret."
"Amazing, mind-blowing sex," he added.
"Uh-huh," Cassiah agreed, still not entirely recovered, "So it's deal."
"Yes," Ron finalized it, "It's a deal. Now let's get out stuff and get out of this common room before they get tired of being holes up in their dorms and wander in here. We've already pushed our luck enough."
Cassiah nodded, grabbing her books, "I suppose we have. But what about the test? We didn't finish studying."
"Cassie," Ron answered earnestly, grabbing her hand, "I don't care if I never pass a test again if I'm having sex that good."

CURRENT SECRETS LIST
This is a list of all of my characters’ current secrets. some of them don’t have secrets at the moment due to me either wanting to change them and never coming up with a new idea, but this will be updated as time goes on. (TW: topics of suicide, sexual harassment and abortion are discussed in this post. If any of these make you uncomfortable I highly recommend reading this post with caution, or to not read it at all.)
CHRISTELLE: Her family runs organised crime all along the country. Christelle, for the most part isn’t involved, but will lie for her family whenever she has to.
Tumblr media
PHOENIX: SECRET 1 (TW; SUICIDE): While Phoenix was in high school, she found out that her father was married and in a family which most of his assets went to, whilst still being with her mother and acting as if he was working away whilst he was actually living with his other family. One day, she approached him alone and threatened to tell both her mum and his wife. The next day, he had committed suicide.
The suicide, which also lead to the unfolding of his double-life, was publicised heavily in the Springs. Nix became known as the “other child” who resented her father, yet got the sympathy card with people oblivious to the fact that she was the one with the upper hand prior to her father’s death.
SECRET 2 (TW; SEXUAL HARASSMENT): Ever since her first year, Phoenix has been sexually harassed by her former gymnastics coach. In her second year she dropped gymnastics, but every now and again she ends up bumping into him. Even though she knows what’s going on is wrong, she fears that her reputation as a sportswoman will be on the line if she says anything.
Tumblr media
JIWON (TW; ABORTION):  In South Korea, Jiwon was in a private relationship with a socialite. Even though Jiwon was more successful, her ex influenced many aspects of her life leading up to their breakup. Shortly after her debut she found out she was pregnant and aborted the baby because her boyfriend said that he’d leave if she didn’t. However, not long after that he ended up leaving because she refused to back down from continuing her career as an idol.
The breakup was messy and as tempting it was for her ex to out Jiwon’s pregnancy and for Jiwon to out her ex’s behavior, they both know that each other’s move would cause serious harm to their own images, and have mutually agreed to stay quiet about it.
Tumblr media
DUYI: After drawing a red ball at his military draft in Thailand (meaning he had to do 2 years of military), Duyi renounced his Thai citizenship and fled to South Korea, knowing that his career as an idol was taking off. In response, the Thai government has banned him from ever going back to Thailand.
(Additional note: Since Duyi’s fixed age is 20 - turning 21 in March - this secret resets every year, with him having his draft during the first week of April)
Tumblr media
CASSIE: As a member of Christelle’s family, Cassie co-runs a money laundering scheme in some of the largest casinos in London with her brother. While she’s promised her brother that she’d take the fall if the scheme were to fall under, she’s made sure to clear her own tracks and keep track of everything that links the scheme to her brother (falsely) working alone.
Tumblr media
ISLA: When Isla was three she was abandoned by her parents in a busy tourist hotspot in Thailand while they were on an overseas holiday. Even though she was taken in by another family and has no recollection of who her parents were, the fact that she was abandoned runs deep in her, being diagnosed with a mild case of monophobia (fear of being alone). As a result, Isla has never had a consistent friendship group and has alway hid in the shadow of her adoptive brother, Chang-woo.
Tumblr media
NO SECRET:
KOBI: I did have her going deaf as a secret but I kinda want something new for her so I’m back to the drawing board for her in that sense.
HANEUL: He was originally going to be involved in the death of Jiwon’s parents but since I’ve kept delaying it the timeline for it’s kinda of fallen out of shape and it’s not really the direction i want him heading in.
SANGWOO: I'm still thinking of a past-based plot for him. He did turn down an offer into liberty in favour of staying in Seventeen, so I might have a secret based on the outcome of that?? idk we’ll see LMAO

3 and 19 for the fanfic asks 💕
3. Do you prefer canonverse or AUs?
I’m kind of an *insert ‘both is good’ gif here* when it comes to fic, but definitely leaning toward canonverse. I’m a little pickier with my AUs and really need them to be at least grounded in canon, personalities intact.
19. What’s your favorite character headcanon?
Which character hahahahaha? Okay here we go....
Karen Page: Karen hasn’t had a good night’s sleep since before her mother died, but it’s only after she reconciles with Frank and they start talking about their shared traumas that it gets easier. Having Frank in her bed helps too ;-)
Frank Castle: Frank doesn’t actually hate Matt--he respects him as a fighter, but can’t stand his moral code because it’s so opposed to his own “do what needs to be done” mindset. He does not like how Matt treats Karen though. Also, he and Elektra do meet and become murder friends. Karen and Matt both have no idea how to make sense of that.
The Lieberman Family: The reason why Frank didn’t call the Lieberman’s during TPS2 (LIKE HE SHOULD HAVE) is because after David was reunited with his family, he and Sarah made the most of their reunion and they had another baby (a girl named Faye Diza, for both Frank and Dinah), and Frank was not about to put them in danger again, especially not with a baby in the mix. Leo and Zach think it’s SUPER weird that they have a sibling with such a massive age gap, and they choose to ignore the how and why of it all happening—that’s what therapy is for anyway.
Our girl Kim Hart: Even though she doesn’t have her power coin anymore and is technically retired, she can still morph thanks to the Crane powers. She also still heals quicker than a normal person, which seriously helped her gymnastics career. And yeah, she did feel a little bad about it, but not bad enough not to compete.
Tommy Oliver: After reluctantly un-retiring in Dino Thunder, he does go looking for Kim and they rekindle their relationship and live happily ever after.
Tommy & Kim: After Zordon sacrificed himself at the end of the Space season, Tommy calls Kim, the first time they’ve talked in years, and they talk all night. They don’t entirely clear the air, but they do make clear that things would be different if they weren’t living on opposite sides of the country.
The entire Power Rangers in Space team: because they revealed themselves publicly to save the world, they’re the most famous rangers on the planet, and serve as a go-between between PR teams and major media outlets (you can really see me putting my PR hat on for this HC hahaha), especially when a new team comes along.
Ashley Hammond (PRiS): She splits time between Earth and KO35 because she, duh, is dating an actual alien (who is a human, because earth is not the only place humans live)
Astronema/Karone (PRiS/PRLG): After her tenure as the pink ranger in LG, she goes back to traversing the galaxy, using her sorcery powers for good (also, her abilities as a sorceress were not tied to her being evil) and there are MANY a crisis that she has stopped in its tracks before it could get as bad as the situations the Power Rangers have to take care of.
Cassie Chan: After the Space season, Cassie serves as Earth’s ambassador to the other planets in the system, which she does yes, because someone with space experience needs to do it (and Ashley’s too busy vacationing with her boyfriend on KO-35 and the other rangers are heavily involved with Earth’s recover), but also because it’s the only way she can think of to track down a wayward Phantom Ranger--who she ultimately does find, and they live happily ever after, splitting time between Earth and a recovering Eltar.
Y’all...I have SO many Power Rangers HCs
And because I recently finished From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and have some Geckos and Fullers on the brain...
Kate Fuller: Even though she wasn’t in control of her body when she was possessed by Amaru, she still retains Amaru’s sword-fighting skills (which, let’s be real, Seth is a BIG fan of) and her ability to sense Culebras when they’re nearby. She also doesn’t even bother with the guest room they set up for her when they get back to base at Jacknife Jed’s, and crashes with Seth in his room. It’s platonic at first, but they both can’t sleep without knowing the other is nearby since they both have terrible nightmares about the other dying—also since Seth wasn’t there when she did die, he has nightmares that embellish on what really happened, and since Amaru tried to drain Seth’s soul, Kate sees those nightmares too.
Seth Gecko: Seth feels like he SHOULD feel like it’s weird that Kate is sleeping in his bed especially after everything that happened leading up to them parting ways in Mexico, but then he remembers that he doesn’t give a fuck about what it may or may not look like, and having her in arm’s reach is better than any alternative (like her sleeping two rooms down, or her leaving with her brother after Matanzas, or you know, not being alive anymore, period). Also, Seth has bad anxiety, pretty much ALL the time, and it takes a while for him to reconcile the fact that his real life actually is one where he gets to rob banks and run a criminal empire with Kate AND Richie together, and it’s not like, a really awesome dream or something.
Richie Gecko: Richie LOVES picking up new and random skills from the people he feeds off of, including sleight of hand, how to throw a perfect spiral with a football, and accounting, so he can handle the books for both the legal and extra-legal sides of their enterprises. He also is the only one to work out of the lower levels at Jed’s because Kate refuses to go anywhere near Malvado’s old offices, and Seth doesn’t like being down there because it makes him think about how he got screwed over by Sonja and Kisa almost died.
Kisa: Kisa ultimately decides to embrace her role as La Diosa, and travels the country helping Culebras find their way. She sends the most wayward ones she finds to the Geckos, which Richie appreciates and Seth does, but refuses to admit it, because she and Seth have built up a semi-antagonistic understanding, where they don’t LIKE each other, but they appreciate the others’ skills. Sometimes she does creep in on his dreams to make sure he’s treating Kate right, which he is NOT a fan of at all, and usually leads to Seth yelling at Richie, demanding that he call her and tell her off. Of course, that gives her the chance to catch up with Richie, which is exactly what she wanted. She and Richie do eventually get back together, once they’ve both grown up a little bit and grown into their new lives.

Sparks
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Summary: You were found in the ruins of the city of Sokovia when Ultron attacked—a helpless, thrown out HYDRA experiment that was left to die. The Avengers take you in and love you as if they were your own. And though you love your family, a certain sophomore at Midtown High lit the real sparks within you.
Warnings: Minor Angst in the beginning, Fluff!, so. much. fluff.
Word Count: 6.5k (this was way longer than I intended it to be)
A/N: Sorry for the long exposition, but I feel like it makes it all worth it when Peter and Y/N meet. And I didn’t heavily edit it, so I’m sorry for that.
AU where Tony discovers Peter earlier, Civil War happens but all is forgiven, and Homecoming has not happened.
Tumblr media
There were loud booms and crashes in the distance. Flurries of terrified strangers ran past you. You didn’t know anything. Any of this. You placed your hands over your ears and closed your eyes shut. The screams. You couldn’t take the screams. You ignored the blood on your bare feet that began to run onto the dirt ground. Where were you? Where was your commander? You needed orders. Tears started to stream down your face.
“Hey Cap?” Tony flew down from the sky and landed on the once floating city of Sokovia. In the chaos amongst the terrified civilians, there was a girl. She couldn’t be more than fourteen. She looked normal—except for the red and yellow sparks that flew around her. Surrounding bits of debris floated around the girl, who appeared to be in agony as she sobbed on the ground. “I think I found something.”
“Hey, could I… ask you your name?” A tall, blond man in a blue suit sat down calmly in front of you. You backed away from him and cowered in the corner of your containment cell.
“Well, my name is Steve.” He reached his hand out. You refused to touch it. “We're here to help you.”
“Where's Mr. Strucker?” you whimpered. “He's my commander.”
“I-I um…” The man named Steve crunched down to your height. “Do you have a name?”
“I'm Soldier #82467. Experiment XIV,” you repeat what you were always referred to as. You were a number, not a name.
“How long has Mr. Strucker been your commander?” Steve asked you calmly.
Maybe this man could help you find your commander. Or was he the plague of the earth, as your commander always told you about? “My whole life. 14 years.”
“Do you know your birthday?” Steve continued.
You shook your head. You didn't know why that was important.
“I think we can give you a name. If you want one,” Steve said, with a small smile. You couldn't tell if it was genuine or not.  “Would you like a name?”
You slowly nodded your head. A name would be better than a number.
“Let's see what we can do.”
“Miss, could you sit here, please?” Bruce asked you. That's what Steve said his name was. It was strange to be on a first name basis with these men.
They were very odd. They weren't… intense like the men back home. They smiled a lot more too.
Bruce placed many strange items on you, similar to the doctors back at the base. The tools he used were cold, but you were used to being cold.
“Breath in, and out,” he said. Another man came into the room. He seemed older than the man who questioned you, Steve.
“Tony,” Steve approached Tony. “Did you get the results?”
“Yeah, Capsicle. She's definitely enhanced.”
“So what did Wanda say?” Bruce asked.
“She didn't know about her. They must have placed her away from the twins,” Tony answered. “And Nat is seeing if she can pull up anything on a Soldier—”
“Don't call her that,” Steve interrupted. He looked back at you. “We don't know her name yet, but she's a kid, Tony. Not a soldier.”
“Well, Nat is seeing if she can pull anything up on her in the old files that were recovered from SHIELD.” Tony cleared his voice and muttered a small, but sincere ‘sorry.’
The three men directed their attention to you. “Um, do you know what your powers are exactly?”
You hesitated before whispering softly, “That's classified.”
“You can tell us, kid. We're the good guys. The people you used to know, weren't very nice people. And we're trying to fix that,” Tony said, placing a hand on his shoulder in uncertainty. “If you tell us, we can help you control them.”
“They already tried,” you mumbled. “And they couldn't… I killed everyone who tried. I-I didn't mean t-to.”
“Hey, hey. Doll, it's ok,” Steve put a hand on your shoulder. You flinched at his touch. Sparks began to fly around you. Steve quickly moved his hand away and backed up. The sparks faded out.
“I don't w-want to hurt you…”
“Nat, what do you have on her?” Steve asked. Nat walked into the living room with a file in her hand.
She placed the file down and opened it up. Inside, there was very little, but enough to give them something.
“She never… had a name,” Natasha explained. “But they did label her. Project Y/N. Maybe we could call her that?”
“It's better than Soldier #82467,” Sam said from the couch.
“I agree,” Steve said. “How come Wanda never knew her?”
“Y/N said she killed everyone who tried to stop her?” Natasha pointed to a paragraph in the file. “They put her in solitary confinement for the past few months.”
“Do you think we can help her?” Clint asked. He always had a place in his heart for kids.
“We already have,” Tony said. He entered the room with Bruce. You trailed behind Bruce meekly.
“Hi, Y/N,” the redhead said. She gave you a tight-lipped smile.
“Is that my name?” you asked her. She nodded. You liked it.
“It's not perfect, but we gave her a cuff that can stop her powers from emerging when she gets stressed.”
“Can she use them otherwise?” Wanda asked. The rest of the Avengers had walked into the room to meet you
“Yeah, with practice I think,” Bruce said.
“What can she do, exactly?” Rhodey asked.
“It appears she gained her abilities from the mind stone as well,” Vision thought aloud. “I believe her powers were given to her recently. Definitely later than Wanda.”
“I've had them for about five months,” you told everyone. “I shoot sparks and I can create heat and fires. And I can move things—without touching them.”
“I know a man who is well versed in the Mystical Arts. His name is Stephen Strange. Perhaps he could help Y/N harness her abilities,” Thor suggested.
“Thor, that's a good—” The alarm blared throughout the tower. It startled you and sparks began to fly around the room. Part of Thor's cape almost set on fire.
“Like I said, it's a work in progress,” Tony yelled over the alarm.
“Suit up, Avengers!” Rhodey called out.
“Hey hey! We should call this chick Sparky!” Sam laughed at his own joke. Everyone glared at him.
You laughed quietly. Yeah, you liked the Avengers.
[One Year Later]
A lot had happened in a year: Steve found Bucky, the Avengers met Ant-Man, Wakanda had opened itself to the world, and you were succeeding in your training with Dr. Strange.
Steve and Tony were very protective of you and kind of acted like your dads—you even took Tony’s last name and he and Steve signed on to be your official guardians. Nat and Wanda were like big sisters to you and you told them everything. Bucky, Clint, and Sam were the “cool” uncles that you hung out with to get away with stuff and pull pranks. Rhodey taught you how to drive and told you funny stories about Tony. Scott taught you magic tricks and you were friends with his daughter, Cassie. You often helped Bruce in the lab with his research and he definitely taught you some sciency things. And you always helped Thor out because you were the only one who could help keep Loki under control; he had a soft spot for you. You also liked to help Vision in the kitchen. You made some mean cookies.
“Friday, where's Tony?” you asked, getting up from bed.
“Mr. Stark is on the bottom floor.”
You threw on a pair of loose shorts and a tank top and went downstairs to the foyer.
You walked to the main door to see Tony with a boy. He looked around your age. He had short, brown hair and a matching set of eyes.
“Sparky!” Tony called you over. You rolled your eyes at the nickname. You cannot believe that stuck. Sam sucks so much, you thought.
“Hi, Tony.” The boy looked at you and you returned his gaze with yours. He swallowed deeply. Your eyes widened.
SPARKS.
Your eyes widened.
“Peter, this is my daughter. Well, technically she’s Steve’s too, but she has my last name, so she’s like 60% my daughter. And drop the staring, Parker. She's off limits.” Tony gripped Peter's shoulder playfully. He blushed, still looking at you.
“Hi, Peter. I'm Y/N,” you squeaked. You smiled nervously at him. You didn't have much contact with people outside of the Avengers and Cassie was really the only person you knew who was close to your age.
“I-I'm Pe— I'm P-Peter. Oh wait, you knew that…” he stuttered. He closed his mouth and bit his lip. You thought it was cute and you lightly giggled.
“I said she's off limits, Parker,” Tony almost growled. You felt the embarrassment rise to your cheeks and suddenly you felt panic. There was something about that kid that threw you off.
“I have to go,” you mumbled quickly before scurrying away.
Peter frowned at your early leave. He gulped. Stupid, Peter thought. God, why can’t you just talk like a normal person?
“She's just a little shy…” Tony sighed. “Y/N doesn’t really know any people around her age. She’s fifteen, like you.”
“I-I didn't know you-you had a daughter,” Peter inquired. He thought you were really pretty and you didn't really look like Tony.
“She's not my actual daughter. I took her in,” Tony paused. “Do you remember Sokovia?”
It had been a couple of days since you saw Peter. Even though you ran away from him, you couldn’t stop thinking about him. You didn’t really understand why and when you went to talk to Nat about it, she just smiled and said that you had a “crush on him.” You didn’t know what that meant though. She said it meant you liked him.
You did like Peter, you didn’t like him the same way you did the Avengers. The Avengers were your family, but he wasn’t like that to you. It was a different kind of like. You regretted running away from Peter before you could really soak up his features. His brown eyes that had looked straight into yours. It made your stomach feel weird but in a good way. His lips were… nice, too.
You decided not to talk to your “dads” about it. It didn’t seem like something a person would ask their father figures about.
Summer was ending. Tony knew it was about time you’d be around people your age. Sure, the Avengers were good company and they were your family, but you needed to make connections on your own. You had lived with them for a year now, and Tony knew you were adjusting to your new life well.
You needed to go to school.
Of course, he knew you’d be just fine education-wise. Before they gave you powers, you were training to be a spy for HYDRA, so you were given a rich education. Tony and Bruce would often teach you about science and math as well, so you were definitely well off there. Making friends was the challenge—but Tony knew a certain high schooler with spider-powers and a large knowledge on pop culture who could help her out.
“School? Tony, are you sure? She’s barely been here a year. And she doesn’t even have her powers fully under control,” Steve argued. He walked around the kitchen counter to get a mug from the cabinet.
“Yes, I think she’s ready. She’s gotta make some friends, Rogers. And what could go wrong? It’s high school,” Tony shot back. “I just want her to have some friends her age. I mean, we may have to leave her behind one day. This isn’t safe work.” Tony frowned at the thought of leaving Y/N if something were to happen to him. She was his daughter.
“You know she’s just as much mine as she is yours. I get a say in this,” Steve countered. “I mean, I’m just worried for her.”
There was a long moment of silence. Steve looked down at his coffee in contemplation. Tony came closer to him before finally saying, “Do you remember when we found Y/N?” he asked.
“Of course I do,” he answered. He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
“And do you remember what you said to me when I called her ‘Soldier?’” Tony continued.
Steve realized where Tony was coming from. “I said, ‘She’s just a kid, not a soldier,’” he recited, like lines from a play. Steve sighed. “You’re right.”
“I know I am. We have to give her a chance to have some sort of childhood. Let her go to school,” Tony pleaded. His eyes grew with hope. Steve knew he couldn’t say no.
“Fine, but I want someone to look over her. She doesn’t know how to interact with people her age and I don’t want her to burn the school down,” Steve urged.
“I already have someone. You know the kid that stole your shield?” Tony laughed at the memory. Steve groaned.
“So we’re going to Queens?”
Peter had finished making his way around patrolling the streets of Queens as Spider-Man. He didn’t have much action today—just a couple of petty thefts. But for once, he was actually glad about the lack of opportunity. It meant he could swing around, daydreaming about her. Y/N Stark. Damn, she was pretty, he thought. Granted, his turned focus almost caused him to crash into a pole, but it was worth it. He hoped he would be able to see her again. Maybe next time Mr. Stark needed him, she would be there.
Turns out, Mr. Stark needed him right now.
“May?” Peter opened the door and walked into his apartment.
His aunt was on the couch. She turned to face him, “Hey baby. How’s Ned?”
Peter tossed his keys into the bowl next to the door. “Ned? Oh, uh. Ned—Ned is good. He’s fine. Hey, did you see that crazy car outside…?”
Tony Stark and Captain America were here. In his apartment. Two Avengers. At the same time. I mean, Mr. Stark had come by once, but he was here again—with Steve Rogers.
“M-Mr. Stark? Wh-What are you doing here? Uh, Ca-Captain,” Peter stuttered.
“Relax, alright? You should be used to this by now,” Tony said as he sat up from the couch.
“Tony Stark was talking to me about his daughter, Y/N,” May smiled at Peter and walked over to him. She gave him a hug, before quickly retreating. “Honey, you need a shower.”
Peter nodded silently and continued to stare at Steve freaking Rogers.
Steve, who was standing in the corner of the room, also walked over to Peter. He swallowed hard. “Hello, Mr. Parker.”
“Uh, hi-hi, sir.”
“Peter, I’m gonna hand it to you straight. We want Y/N to go to Midtown High,” Tony started. Peter zoned out every word after that. Y/N was going to school with him. He would be able to see her every day.
“Pete? Peter, are you even listening to me?” Tony asked, annoyed. Peter snapped out of his thoughts.
“What? Oh, yes, sir. I-I was listening.”
“Great, I thought you were drooling over my-our daughter,” Tony smirked. Steve glared at Peter.
“So, your Aunt has so graciously allowed Y/N to stay here for the school year,” Steve said, dropping the glare to thank his aunt.
Peter glanced at May, giving her a look of surprise. May smiled overly sweetly at him. Like she knew something he didn’t.
“Yeah, what, with the Avengers moving upstate and all, we wouldn’t be able to drive her down her every day and Midtown is a great school,” Tony added innocently.
Steve’s face darkened as he came closer to Peter. He went full-on dad mode, “Son, we want you to help her out. Now, she’s new to all this, like Stark told you, and we don’t want her to freak out. We’re giving you this responsibility. Do you think you can handle it?”
Peter nodded vigorously, “Yes. Yes, sir, Captain America. Yeah.”
“See? What’d I tell you, Rogers? He’s a good kid. He’ll watch after her,” Tony cheerfully patted a frowning Steve.
Tony turned back to Peter and his face too, darkened for a moment. Peter almost didn’t catch it. “No funny business, okay? We don’t want grandkids just yet.”
Peter blushed bright red. “Nope, no funny business. Got it.”
And with that, the two men exited the small apartment after thanking his aunt one last time.
May closed the door behind them and faced Peter. She smiled wickedly, “So, is she cute?”
“Wh-What?” Peter half-laughed to cover up his blush. “N-No, no. Well, I mean she’s not—not pretty, well I mean she’s beautiful, but not in a weird way! I-I mean. Wait, like she-she—”
“Okay, okay, baby. I get it. You love her.” May left him to process and walked into the kitchen.
“What? Wait—May!”
You looked out of the window of the car. You’d never been this far out into New York before. “Happy, are we there yet?”
“No, not yet,” he answered bluntly.
“Mr. Stark and Mr. Rogers are calling you, Miss,” Friday announced. You answered the call and your dads came onto the holo-screen.
“Hi, doll,” Steve waved at you. “How’s it going?”
“Well, the traffic is pretty bad, but we’re almost there,” Happy answered for you.
“Happy, what did I tell you about answering someone else’s questions?” Tony snapped at him.
“If someone calls me honey, sweetheart, or doll, it’s not for me,” Happy repeated.
“Anyways, we want you to know that Peter is a good kid, okay? He’ll help you around school. You have all the same classes as him, except one. So, he can show you around the school and help you make friends.”
“Yeah, I know,” you tried you sound annoyed, but you were teeming with excitement.
“If he tries anything, you tell us so I can—”
You interrupted Steve, “Hey hey hey, I get it. I get it. You know, you should warm up to him, dad.”
“I know, I just—” Steve sighed. “I just want you to be safe, baby.”
“I love you, dad. I love you, other dad,” you said, waving goodbye to them.
“Wait, am I ‘other dad?’ Y/N—” You hung up before Tony could finish.
Finally, you arrived at Peter’s apartment. Happy walked you up and left your bags with you, before leaving.
You hesitated to knock. Your hands shook with anxiety. You took a deep breath and slowly knocked.
A woman opened the door.
“Hey, you must be Y/N. I’m Peter’s aunt. You can call me May,” she told you. She shook your hand gently. “Let me help with your bags, honey.”
“Oh ok. Thanks, May.” You walked into the apartment and looked around. It was small, but it felt homey.
May placed your bags down near the couch and walked into the kitchen. “Oh sorry. Peter’s not here right now. He’ll be back tonight.” You nodded and sat at the dinner table. You were slightly disappointed, but still, you would see him tonight.
“I just ordered some pizza, so if you’re hungry, you can eat that,” May reminded.
Later, May had to run out for work but promised that Peter would be there soon. She already set up a small mattress for you next to the couch and taught you how to use the shower. So, you sat and waited for Peter to come while you ate a piece of pizza.
After two slices, you already felt pretty full, so you threw the plate into the sink, and got ready to take a shower.
Peter swung from the building across his apartment. He landed quietly on the fire escape in front of his room. Crime fighting took a little longer than expected today.
He felt pretty beat up on his side. Luckily, May wouldn't be able to see the damage there. It was definitely going to bruise.
He peeked inside the apartment to check if May was there. He heard the water running and assumed she was in the shower.
He crept into his room and slowly closed the door. He took his suit off and let it fall to the floor. Before he changed, he checked out his side. Yep, it was definitely going to bruise. It looked like someone colored his entire right side with a purple magic marker.
He slowly picked up his suit and winced at the pain of bending down. He had to stand still for a moment to bear the pain.
The door suddenly opened. In a panic, Peter threw his suit into his closet. It was Y/N, with nothing but a flimsy towel covering herself. And he was in nothing but his boxers.
Tumblr media
“Oh, sorry!” you squeaked out. Were you supposed to leave? Did you want to leave? “I-I just heard noise s-so I thought I wouldn't make s-sure N-no one broke in or-or some-something.”
You blushed at the sight of his half-naked body. There went that feeling again. The one that felt weird but amazing all at the same time.
“I-It's Okay. I thought you were May. God, I'm so stupid. I thought you weren't coming u-until later! And I-I just got home so I figured I'd change and…” If Peter was panicking before, he didn't know what this was. His cheeks burned. You looked really hot. Even though your hair was wet and you were wrapped in a towel, you were still really pretty. He once again realized he was in his boxers and tried to shift certain parts.
Suddenly, you realized you were staring at his body and quickly retreated, “I should go.” You turned on your heel and headed for the door.
When he heard the door close, Peter quietly groaned and collapsed onto his bed.
“Why can't anything go right? It's only day one and you're already messing up,” he mumbled into his pillow.
Slowly, he sat back up and ran a hand through his hair and over his face. “Mr. Stark said, ‘No funny business, Peter.’ So no funny business, ok? She's… just your roommate/friend… Your super pretty roommate.”
School didn't start for another week, so it gave you a chance to get to know Peter.
At first, he avoided you like the plague. You tried to get to know the boy, but he always made an excuse to leave. It upset you. You had started to think he didn’t like you the way you liked him.
But eventually, he warmed up and started to speak to you, and… smile. He had a nice smile. It made your cheeks hot and the fluttery feeling would come back.
He made you laugh, more than Clint or even Sam. He showed you a bunch of new things too: memes, vines, old movies (you liked Star Wars a lot), and The Office.
You met his friends, Ned and MJ. They were really nice to you. MJ even drew a picture of you. You were “hanging out,” as Peter called it, with them and at one point you had stepped out to go to the bathroom. When you came back, you overheard them telling Peter something that he strongly denied.
“No! I don’t. She… doesn’t like me like that,” Peter argued.
“Yes! She totally does. And you do too,” Ned pushed.
“Dude, you’re a bad liar,” MJ scoffed.
School started the next day and Peter suggested a good distraction for your anxious nerves. Tonight, you were watching Alien. And though you used to live in a place full of nothing of fear, you were still scared. Come on! The alien ate people!! It was freaky.
After a long stretch of silence, the alien popped out of nowhere and started to chase the people in the movie.
“Ah!” you yelped. You jumped and dug your face into Peter’s chest. He was just glad you couldn’t see his face. He was so flustered, he forgot how to breathe.
Finally, he managed to croak out, “A-Are you scared?”
“A little,” you whimpered. “I thought this was supposed to be a comedy.”
“I told you it was scary, Y/N,” he laughed. You continued to hide your face in his chest. Carefully, he placed his hand on your hair and began to pet it to calm you down.
A couple of sparks flew around you and Peter noticed it. “Hey, hey. It’s ok, Y/N. We can watch something else if you want. I don’t mind.”
Slowly, you lifted your head to meet your eyes with his. Your face was really close to his. Peter stared back at you in uncertainty. His eyes dilated and his mouth was tight-lipped. Your heart thumped in your chest and you felt the urge to close the small space in between you. You knew what a crush was now.
Suddenly, the door flew open. Peter jumped away from you and you sat back in your spot. It was May.
“What’re you two doing?” she asked.
“We were watching a movie,” Peter explained quickly.
“Really? It seemed like something else,” she chuckled.
“No! It wasn’t anything!” Peter yelled and retreated into the kitchen.
“What does she mean?” you asked, puzzled.
“Well—”
“No! Nothing, it’s nothing, Y/N,” Peter interrupted his aunt from the fridge.
“Ok, well I guess I’ll just let you two finish,” May said nonchalantly. She turned to Peter, “Don’t have too much fun, baby. You know what Mr. Rogers said.”
“I know! I know, May,” Peter sighed. Oh, that’s what she meant, you thought.
“I’m going to go to bed,” you blurted. Peter looked up at you from the fridge.
He frowned. “Oh ok, that’s fine. Um, I’ll turn the TV off.”
He switched the TV off and turned to his room. Before he went in, he turned to you and softly said, “Night, Y/N.”
“Night, Petey.” He gave you a small smile and entered his room.
You took a shower and changed into a thin white t-shirt and sweatpants. You tried to sleep, but your nerves got the better of you. You were really nervous.
After several hours, you gave up and crept into Peter’s room. “Peter?” you whispered softly. No answer.
“Peter,” you tried again as you closed the door and approached his bed. He looked really peaceful asleep. You hated to wake him up, but you needed to see his big, brown eyes again.
You slightly shook him until he woke up.
“Huh? What? Y/N?” Peter rubbed his tired eyes and sat up. “What time is it?”
“I don’t know. Like two. I couldn’t sleep,” you told him. You played with the hem of your shirt nervously. “I-I’m nervous about school.”
“Hey, it’s ok. School isn’t so bad. Kids’ll like you,” he assured. You placed your head on his shoulder and pouted.
“I-I don’t know. I’ve never gone to school before. I don’t know what to do,” you fretted.
“It’s easy,” he said. “I’ll help you out. You know, with finding your classes, homework, checking out books, all that.”
“Thanks,” you mumbled. You hesitated before saying, “Can I sleep here?” Peter could barely hear you.
“What?”
“Can I sleep here? Just tonight?”
“Um, yeah. Sure,” he breathed. Peter knew it probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do, but he wanted to be near you just as much as you wanted to be near him. Mr. Stark’s gonna kill me, but it’s worth it, he thought.
You climbed into bed with him and nuzzled into his body. He was warm.
“Night, Petey,” you yawned. You closed your eyes and you were out like a light. Peter, on the other hand, couldn’t sleep anymore. You were so close to him. You were sleeping right next to him. You were touching him.
Peter thought about you for the rest of the night. Not only were you beautiful, but you were smart, nice, funny, and dorky. He loved every bit of you. He knew there were sparks the first time he met you and with each minute, his affections only grew.
He dreaded the morning to come when you would both have to get up.
School wasn’t so bad. You had all your periods with Peter, except fourth period. So, you had some time to cope with that.
First period AP European History was fun. You liked learning about the history of Europe. You would often glance over at Peter and sometimes he would glance at you. You don’t even remember what the teacher said the homework was because you were too busy focusing on the piece of hair that stuck out on Peter’s head.
Second period Honors Humanities was too easy. You already read most of the literature the teacher said you were going to read. Lord of the Flies, Macbeth, The Odyssey, The Great Gatsby, Great Expectations. Done and done.
Third period Honors Pre-calc was incredibly boring. You already knew stuff like that up to the math of radioactive gamma rays and neutron stars. So, you spent the whole period messing with Peter using your powers. You rolled his pencil across his desk and untied his shoelace. He rolled his eyes playfully at you and made an ‘I’m going to get you back’ face at you.
Fourth period was when you had to leave Peter. He was in Spanish 5 while you were in AP French. Your fear subsided, however. You had grown used to other kids and French was easy. After all, you already knew that amongst seven other languages fluently. So it was a breeze.
Trying to find Peter at lunch was difficult and you tried to focus on controlling your stress so sparks wouldn’t fly everywhere. After about ten minutes of wandering around the school trying to find the cafeteria, you finally bumped into Ned and MJ, who led you to Peter. You opened your lunch to find a note that Tony had slipped into it somehow.
We love you, baby. -TS and SR
You smiled at the small note. You looked over at Peter to see him chewing on a PB&J sandwich. He was so cute.
“Subtle,” MJ whispered to you.
“What do you mean?” you asked nervously.
“Don’t worry. He likes you too. Trust me,” she winked at you. He liked you too?
After lunch, you departed from Ned and MJ and walked to PE. You were in deep thought the entire time. Peter liked you?
Finally, you made it to the gym. The teacher just let you do whatever you wanted for the first day, so Peter asked if you wanted to walk around with him, which you quickly agreed to.
“So, how was French?” he started.
“Facile,” you answered, smiling.
“Easy?” he asked. You nodded. A gust of wind flew towards you and you shivered.
“Are you cold?” he asked.
“Um, a little. But I’ll be fine,” you said. You brought your arms up to hug yourself for warmth.
“Here,” Peter slid his sweatshirt off. “Take this.”
You blushed. “No, it’s fine. Then you’ll be cold.”
“Nah, I’m fine. Take it,” he assured. Hesitantly, you took the sweatshirt and slipped it over your body. It smelled like him.
“Thanks,” you mumbled. There was Peter’s smile again.
After gym, you had AP Chem. Once again, easy A. For you and Peter. You guys even got to be lab partners. You messed around with each other while the teacher talked out how H2O and O2 yielded H2O2.
Finally, the day was over and you sat next to Peter on the bus. Ned allowed it. He sat with MJ. You were still wearing Peter’s sweatshirt and embraced the warmth it gave you.
Later, you were finishing up chem homework, when you heard a crash in Peter’s room. You ran in to see Peter in a red suit. He slid his mask off to reveal cuts and bruises all over his face.
“Oh my God, Peter what happened? What are you doing?” you sat him on the bed and examined his wounds.
“I-I was um…”
“Are you that Spider-Man guy?” you questioned him, shocked. “Is that why you were at Avengers Tower the other day with my dad?”
“Yeah,” he winced when you touched one of his cuts. You muttered a small ‘sorry.’
“Oh my god. My dad never told me,” you gasped.
“Yeah, he didn’t want you to know. I’m so screwed,” Peter said through gritted teeth.
“Let me help you, Pete. Should I—Should I get May?” you asked.
“No, May doesn’t know.”
“She doesn’t? Oh ok, well um… Do you have a first aid kit?” you asked in a panic. He was pretty beat up.
“Yeah, under the sink in the bathroom.” He lied on the bed and groaned.
You got the kit from the bathroom and proceeded to clean the cuts on his face.
“Ok, we’re done with your face,” you said, placing the cotton ball down. “Now take off your suit.”
“No, it’s ok. I got it, Y/N.”
“Peter, it’s fine. I got it,” you urged. You gave him your best puppy dog face and he couldn’t resist.
“Fine.” He slipped his suit off and looked away from you. You tried to ignore his toned chest and stomach and placed bandage wrap on his torso.
“Got beat up pretty bad, huh? Tough bad guys?” you asked to distract him.
“Uh not really. I got kind of distracted,” he laughed. Your hand slipped and he hissed in pain.
“Sorry, uh go on.”
“I um…” If you’re going to tell her, I guess now would be the time, he thought. “I was thinking about you,” he continued.
You dropped the wrap and opened your mouth slightly in shock. “What do you mean?”
“Well—”
“Kids, I’m home!” May opened the door. Yours and Peter’s eyes widened. He threw his suit out of sight and quickly slipped on some clothes.
May entered the room. “Pete, what happened to your face?”
“He fell!” you blurted out. “We were running during gym and he slid face-first onto the floor.”
You and Peter laughed nervously. “Yeah, I uh, fell.”
“Ok, be more careful baby,” May closed the door.
You ate dinner in awkward silence with May and Peter. You stared at your food the entire time. Peter glanced every now and again at you, but you refused to make eye contact with him. Did you not like him back? Great, he thought.
Peter laid in his bed wide awake. He couldn’t stop thinking about you and how he had completely screwed up your friendship. He needed to fix this. He got up from bed and walked into the living room.
He saw you, still in his sweatshirt, sleeping. He tripped over the couch and fell onto it.
“Oof!” You quickly sat up at the noise and sent sparks through your hands.
“It’s me! It’s just me!” Peter whispered loudly. You lowered your hand and sighed.
“Peter you scared the hell out of me.”
“Sorry,” he muttered.
“What are you doing here?”
“I-I um…”
“Peter… do you… like me?” you closed your eyes shut in embarrassment.
“I-I uh…” Peter blushed for probably the hundredth time this week.
You frowned. “I get it if you don’t.”
“What? No, Y/N I do like you! I like you a lot. Ever since I first met you actually. Even though you ran away and all but—”
“I like you too,” you smiled widely.
“I didn’t tell you because your dads said I couldn’t be with you,” Peter pouted at your fathers’s warnings.
“I don’t care what they say. I want you,” you whispered.
“I want you too.”
Your faces were really close. You were unsure of what to do next, but before you could decide, Peter closed the distance between the two of you.
Wanda had told you what kissing was but you never expected it to be this great.
His lips were soft and moved carefully as if he was scared of rejection. You pushed back a little and placed your hands on his face. He wrapped his arms around your waist and deepened the kiss.
Peter never wanted it to stop. He quickly ended it for a breath of air but crashed his lips back onto yours. His hands moved up your waist and into your hair. You wrapped your arms around his neck in reply.
“Go out with me,” he said, releasing you from his grasp.
“Like-Like on a date?”
“Yeah, we could go out and eat dinner and take a walk around Central Park or Coney Island and ride the Ferris Wheel or—”
“Yes,” you breathed.
“R-Really?” Peter was surprised you agreed.
You nodded in reply and kissed him again.
On Saturday, Happy drove you and Peter to the Avengers complex to visit. The Avengers greeted the both of you.
“Man of Spiders! Lady Y/N. It is wonderful to see you both,” Thor greeted.
“Sparky, eh how’s it going?” Sam asked.
“Hello, guys!” Wanda waved at you both.
You greeted all of the Avengers and lastly your dads.
“Hi, peanut. How was school?” Tony asked, giving you a hug.
“It was great. Peter really helped and he introduced me to his friends.
“Oh, that’s awesome, sweetheart.” Tony let go and turned to Peter.
“Peter, did you go a good job?”
Peter swallowed. “Uh, yeah. I-I think so,” he sputtered nervously. You hadn’t told them you were dating yet. Only MJ, Ned, and May knew.
“You think so?” Steve questioned.
“I mean, yeah—yes, sir. I think so…”
“Dad, lay off, will you?” You pushed against his chest to get him to back away from Peter.
Nat came up to you to give you a hug, but before she did, she stared at you for a long moment before yelling out, “You kissed Peter, didn’t you?”
“Wh-What? No, I didn’t,” You were bright red. Shit, shit, shit.
“What?!” Tony and Steve yelled simultaneously. They stared at Peter.
“Parker, what was the one thing I told you not to do?!” Tony yelled.
“Uh, n-not to-to—”
“Not to hook up with our daughter!” Steve finished.
“But I—”
“You what!?” Tony screamed. “You did it anyway. I trusted you, Peter”
“I called you son…” Steve growled.
“Hey!” you yelled over the chaos. “I like him, ok? And he’s a nice guy. Come on, guys. Let him be.”
“But-But he—” Tony tried to defend.
“But nothing! He likes me and he’s nice and smart and he makes me laugh, ok? He’s good. You like him, don’t you?” You gave them your puppy dog sad face.
Steve and Tony softened. “Ok, fine,” Steve raised his arms in defeat. “But I’m watching you son.”
“Yes-Yes, sir,” Peter stuttered.
“But don’t kiss each other in front of me please,” Bucky added.
In spite, you smirked and pulled Peter to you by his shirt and gave him a quick peck.
Everyone groaned.
“My eyes!” Clint yelled.
“Oh boy,” Bruce turned to the face the other direction.
“Aw,” Wanda clasped her hands to her chest.
“Just—Just fucking… kill me,” Tony said.
You leaned over to Peter, who was sweating nervously at Steve, who glared at him angrily. “I think they like you.”

Mind Games Over Matter
Hey there, misery porn. Are ya ready, kids?? Coz it's time for the really terrible stuff in Titans to set in~
Where better to start than with this cover~?
Tumblr media
Oh boy, this cover. Hang on, friendos. This is gonna be a rant~
Okay, first things first. The Tron look itself is not the problem. In all honesty, I think the Tron look is cool. Spider-Man had a Tron-looking suit for a while, his stealth suit, and it was really cool. The Tron look is not the problem! If they'd just kept it to Superboy, it'd be fine. The problem is that this is a team book. And just look at this team. Practically all of them are wearing black. There's some colour on the right, but let's look at the left for a moment. There's Superboy, whose colour is red. Red Robin, whose colour is red. And Wonder Girl, whose colour... is red. Or maybe two of them are scarlet and crimson.
Tumblr media
So, as a team, why does this look not work? Because they all blend together. Take the Fantastic Four, for example. They're a team that all wear blue uniforms. But they all look unique, don't they? Half the time, the Human Torch is bright red. The Thing wears the bottoms of the uniform, but is also still a rocky orange monster. Invisible Woman is usually a transparent white object. The only regularly blue one is Mr. Fantastic. Or let's go the other way: the Teen Titans animated series. Cyborg and Raven both have blue in their design, but they're very different blues. Starfire and Beast Boy both heavily use purple and green in theirs, but Starfire's official colour is orange, at least according to the theme song. Point is, it's not the uniforms themselves, it's the lack of unique looks among the team.
And to top things off, Kid Flash just got a new costume a scant two issues ago. Was that not good enough~? We had to turn him into a human light cycle~?
Anyway, we open on somebody's unfinished Animorphs fanfiction. By which I mean an actual horrific depiction of Tim Drake turning into a bird. This is presented to him as a loss of control, a fear of his. And we turn the page and we see the *next* thing wrong with this issue. Meet Omen. In previous continuity, Omen (AKA Lilith Clay) was one of the earliest members to join the Titans, way back in 1970. She was unnecessarily killed off in the godawful "Graduation Day", and only appeared a couple times after as a zombie or Black Lantern. So anyway, the New 52 brought her back as a villain.
Not just any villain, but now she's blonde with red tips on her fringe haircut, a tattered floor-length black dress, and her eyes stitched shut and bleeding. So in case you didn't yet think the New 52 was backsliding into edgy '90s shlock, here's your proof! And while Omen is tormenting Tim with visions, Cassie is trying to pound her way into their chamber. Bunker tries to pull her back, pointing out that the chamber is full of water and they should come up with an actual plan. Cassie's response is to gut-punch Bunker and tell him to stop telling her what to do. Oh good, what a lovely team dynamic.
After Solstice continues to be the level-headed one and points out that turning against each other is what Harvest wants, we cut back to Tim and Omen. Tim's returned to human, and he defies Omen by insisting she's not really an enemy, just another person Harvest has corrupted. She's annoyed by his fortitude and sends him away, opting to take Cassie to torment instead. And while she's taunting Cassie for her life choices, Tim is brought before Harvest, who also taunts him. Harvest then walks off, content to ignore Tim for now. Tim is then ominously fitted with his Tron armour. It's not even a bodysuit, it's like an actual breastplate.
Back with Omen, she's picking on Skitter now, experimenting with separating Skitter's bestial side with her human half. Human!Skitter gets all "reunite us, or life itself is doomed!", which Omen thinks is hilarious. I think it's hilarious too, because thanks to my foresight of having read the whole series, Skitter is probably the least consequential character in the story. Bunker suggests that it really sucks having your private-most thoughts invaded and turned against you, and Solstice mentions this is what Omen does to prepate those for the Crucible.
Tumblr media
We get a brief meanwhile of an investigation of the fight back in issue 5. Amanda Waller--who I actually forgot they turned skinny for the New 52--is leading the investigation, commenting on how metahumans are getting younger and younger. So, being Amanda Waller, she immediately defers leadership of the investigation to someone else, a guy named Agent Lance. Back in the actual story, Cassie and Skitter are being fitted for their Tron armour, and Tim stops by. Apparently he'd rather comment on Cassie's word choices than help her. I'm not sure I even buy his criticism that young people don't say "to boot".
Bunker and Solstice have a one-page conflict, where Bunker is upset that she didn't tell them the full extent of horrors that being Harvest's test subjects amounts to. She apologises, confessing that she was just so scared. See, that's all you need. I'm glad they didn't turn Solstice into their "manufactured conflict" go-to. While that's going on, Omen starts prodding around Kid Flash's mind. The amnesia thing kicks in, and whatever caused him to forget actually becomes a psychic backlash on her, repelling her from him. He dashes off and tries to take Bunker and Solstice to safety, only for both of them to be shot. That's when he wakes up suddenly, clad in his Tron armour, in the same room with Cassie and Skitter.
And while they're in there, Tim is doing his own heroic leader shtick. He infiltrates the other end of the base while Omen is working on Bunker. When she refuses to let him go, Tim lashes out--killing her. Except no. He suddenly wakes up back in the room with the others, still strapped to the table. Harvest himself enters, and reveals that the whole thing was essentially trying to push Tim to the limits where he'd kill someone. Harvest calls up another of his goons, Leash, who uses his powers to drag all the Titans along into the Crucible area, where the Culling will begin. That's a complaint for next time, but yeah. Here we are~
So yeah. If it wasn’t last issue, this is where the series really began its nosedive. For one thing, this is just a whole issue of tormenting our heroes, and that’s not very pleasant to read. Secondly, they reintroduce Omen--who has been dead for a whole nine years, by the way-- and make her a terrible, angsty, asshole villain. She is working for this Harvest goon for no adequately explained reason (a recurring theme, as we’ll soon see), and might as well have been a different character entirely. But no, she’s referred to as both Omen and Lilith in story, and since this is a Titans story, it’s pretty clear she’s the New 52′s interpretation of the real deal. I’ve read a lot of the 1980s New Teen Titans series and I actually really liked Lilith in those books. So this is just personally really disgusting to me.
And all of this isn’t even half as bad as what’s next, my dear readers. Because oh boy, it’s finally time. All this has been leading up to something called “The Culling”, and we’re gonna get into that next week~

🕊Cassie: A Caged Bird Set Free🕊
When it comes to Cassie, I do find it unfortunate that all she ever was associated with was being Diddy's girlfriend for a good chunk of her youth. I always felt she could have been a larger star had she gotten from under Diddy, but I always felt she had potential to take other paths in her career. I truly believe it was the lifestyle that kept Cassie with him, because she never struck me as a "happy woman" being with him. Diddy is a pretty toxic individual, that's plain as day, but I don't feel he would ever own up to abuse that he put ANY of his women through, let alone Cassie (when I say 'abuse', I'm speaking generally & not directly relating this to solely physical abuse). Seeing Cassie with Alex & her new family? THAT'S happiness. No matter what I pick up in the cards I put down, I refuse to deny the complete 180° Cassie's story took; from being on the arm of a powerful mogal, to being with a true soulmate & feeling the high of life. I always believed that Cassie was meant to have a certain lifestyle, & I never saw her wanting to be in the public eye all her life. I never wanted Cassie to stay with Diddy because I knew she was going to want her life back one day, & that's exactly what happened.
**DISCLAIMER**
I am not declaring, nor am I insinuating, that anything I say in my predictions are true accounts of any of the parties involved. This reading is for entertainment purposes only, & should only taken as such. All in good fun, folks 🤷🏾‍♀️🧿
🕊What is Cassie's default demeanor/personality❔
She has a lot of compassionate & divine/magical energy, & she is a person that is always seeking for knowledge. She truly has the best intentions in mind for other people, & she is the type of person to help those in need without expecting anything in return. She has woken up to her self & her own personal power, but she is denying her emotional truth. I get there might be a masculine energy watching over her as well, could be a family member or an ancestor. I feel like when it comes to how she is truly feeling, she is able to trick others into believing that she is okay, & I think she does a lot of that with her husband. He is very protective of her & she likes to ease his worries about how she feels, but I feel like he knows when she's trying to brush off her anxieties/sadness. She does this to avoid a confrontation or conflicting conversation that will upset her. She has coping mechanisms when it comes to leaving people out of her emotional current, & again, this is something that Alex is starting to notice. She is still holding onto her trauma & she hides it with excessive enthusiasm, but she could be coping with either depression or deep sadness. I feel she is coming out of it & she is slowly recovering because she still feels a little defensive when it comes to have something that feels like a blessing to be taken away from her; she has up an emotional wall but Alex is helping it slowly, but surely, come down. What is also showing up here is that she has a love for art of all forms, & she is even talented in many pursuits herself; I feel like she has many more (secret) talents that a lot of people don't know. We definitely don't know Cassie as much as we may seem, there is definitely so much more to her.
🕊What is surrounding Cassie at this time❓
I'm actually getting a gross energy trying to get to her (I have psychic reasoning to believe it's Diddy), & it honestly feels like it is something that's trying to distress her. I have a feeling Diddy, people from Diddy's camp, who are mutual friends of Diddy, or people close to Diddy, try to get through to her via social media, but they may be people trying to keep tabs for Diddy or he may be trying to get back in with her as a friend, through others. I feel she is suspecting that this person (we can speculate that is Diddy; this person has had a possessive, deceitful energy, & she has a history of love with) well try to gain sympathy for their past together in the public eye. She doesn't seem to trust this person due to a checkered past (now who else would that be?). Meanwhile, Cassie is in a more stable/secure place in her life, & this kind of stress is the last thing she needs. It really feels like a dark cloud that is looming over her & trying to get to her. Either she has been hearing from him recently or she is going to be hearing from him soon. I feel she tries not to let it get to her, but I feel it interferes with her focus on her marriage at times. She has been coming into her own since she released herself from the past, which allowed her to neglect herself by being devoted to a fault. Since releasing from the past, Cassie has been redirected on to her correct path all at once. I still feel she has her days, but her marriage with her husband helps her to heal. She's awakened a lot since Diddy, & she is seeing the truth of her past with him through the emotional fog. She's been working hard to heal her heart chakra, & she feels like she's finally reaching a place of emotional security. I feel a big worry for her is allowing herself to open to abuse, as she's done in the past. I feel there are times where she can't be open about these things with her husband because she doesn't want him to worry about that. She is wanting to move on from the hurt that has been having a hold on her, & she doesn't have any intent on rehashing her past, since there is a lot of sadness she still feels; stuff like trauma that doesn't go away overnight, that will take her some time to heal from.
🕊What was the relationship dynamic between Cassie & Diddy❔
I'll tell you there wasn't much love on either side of the fence within this connection. For Cassie, she is very artistically & intuitively inclined, & she was determined to make a stable foundation for herself. I feel like she was able to keep a professional relationship with Diddy & that was where she wanted to keep it. She even had an entrepreneurial spirit that had plans she wanted to execute. Unfortunately for her, Diddy was in a controlling energy when it came to what was going to be done with her career. Diddy on the other hand had every intention to fulfill a desire, or muse with Cassie. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that he had power to block any opportunities that she could possibly achieved without him. He himself was acting out through a childhood trauma & wounding. Diddy was dealing with a lot of demons (I won't say hes necessarily faced (all of) them) which allowed him to project his saboteur energy on to his relationship with Cassie, which also made its way into her career. Cassie was able to financially capitalize off of the way she looked without compromising the power of her own spirit; then comes Diddy. I won't say that she was forced to stay with him under his will, in fact she was free to do whatever she wanted, but only as long as it was with Diddy & it was within his personal restrictions. She's seen that man's shadow on many occasions, as we can imagine, & as she seen that overtime he allowed them to grow & thrive, much to her disdain. She has thought to leave the situation many a times before actually leaving. Diddy, in many ways, was trying to recapture his youth with Cassie, & it was actually a total drain of her own personal power. They created a toxic trauma/soul tie with each other, which is why Cassie is still uneasy about it & why it took her so long to leave. I don't want to speculate too much regarding pregnancies, but I see a miscarriage or loss of a child being what finally brought her to her senses. She knew she wasn't going to get anything good out of being with him, & she had intense feelings & reasons to believe that he wasn't going to change/grow with her. So their relationship wasn't on a lovey-dovey side, not even in the least bit.
🕊 Will Cassie & Diddy reconnect; as friends❓
For Cassie, right now is a no, & I don't think she's sure about the future for the time being. She's very cognizant of his power & what he is capable of, & she doesn't believe he will change.
As for Diddy, Cassie's expectations seem to be correct, he's not going to be able to grow enough for her. I feel like it will take him to open up his being to heal his trauma; he has too much pride to admit it to himself, let alone heal it. He would not reach out in a genuine manner right now, that's for sure.
🕊 What is surrounding Cassie & Alex Fine's marriage at this time❔
Right now, they seem to be hitting a rough patch, & it seems like there have been instances where Diddy, or people within his camp or close to him, has already trying to reach out & get in touch with Cassie. It feels like they've dealt with the 'elephant's in the room, which was the fact that she is still hearing from him, but Alex still feels a certain type of way about it, though he chooses to mask how he truly feels to his wife. He feels like he is fighting for her, or fighting to be with her, while Cassie finds this connection that she has with Alex to be a spiritually healing one; she has changed a lot, thanks to this marriage. She feels Alex/this connection has rescued her, & she believes this was a blessing/gift from her ancestors. I do feel Alex believes in Cassie's love for him, & he loves/trusts her in return; it's Diddy, & anyone associated with him, is what he doesn't trust. Alex feels Diddy is very unpredictable & unstable, based off of what his wife has told him, but I feel they have been open about nearly everything; what Alex DOESN'T speak on is his disdain & paranoia regarding the whole thing. He has a respect & recognition for her that he heavily rewards her with his loyalty. I feel he is a source for a lot of beautiful words & great advice to offer her as well, & she definitely learns from him, just as he learns from her. I feel Cassie's ancestors come to her & give her guidance dealing with Diddy's pop-ups & she is more aware of how to handle it; which is really to ignore him while she's trying to eject him from her system. It was a point where she would be on the verge of breaking down but her husband has been helping her through that. It really feels like they are trying to get over a dark cloud in their marriage, but they intend to be okay within the connection. I feel Alex has actually posed a threat along the lines of, "If you keep hear from them again, I'm going to say something", & I wouldn't be surprised if he already has. Overall, they're in a happy space together as a couple, & they continue to teach & uplift each other.
🕊 Will the Fine's marriage last for the long haul❓
There is potential for a long lasting marriage, but there is still this conflicting energy that is underlying & leaving one (or both) of them guarded. I'm getting that their meeting was destined & divinely orchestrated & it has room to go far, though there is still an unpredictability that needs sorting out. Despite there being the energy of opposites attracting one another, there is still love here that is unconditional. Concrete emotions/feelings have been established between them, but there is still external strife regarding an expected outcome (of a message). I feel legal action suggested to be taken after concern of this income. This feels like people who have caused stress or who was a part of her past life (with Diddy) that still try to reach out to Cassie, which causes her to have some stresses over it. I feel if a restraining order hasn't already been established, they are in talks with a lawyer about their options; they feel like Diddy is a huge concern for Cassie's mental/emotional health, as if he has ways of getting to her which she may be expectant of (I doubt any of this will be publicized, they plan to have a very private marriage life). I see her ancestors/guides pushing her to heal these parts of her that feels stagnant because of her past. Like I said before, she's getting there despite still having her moments. Despite dealing with this dark cloud energy, Cassie & Alex are actively building towards the future & have a 'wait & see' attitude about everything. There is emotional healing/purging that needs to happen before she could get into a confident place in her marriag, & the sense that she can brief about anxieties from the past. One thing I did see is that Cassie may want to branch out onto her own profession/career that she is passionate about but may be having some fears about how it will go & a part of her is worried that Diddy will be surface in her life in some way. Until she can heal from this trauma, she will be able to fully enjoy her marriage in confidence.
🕊 What lies in the future for Cassie + advice for her❔
Cassie will be facing her own emotional cycles, as well as fulfilling familial obligations. All of this new energy and experiences are able to be teachable on both ends of the spectrum; She is growing & learning with her husband & daughter, & she will be uncovering her true self in the process. She will be going through major changes/cycles that may take her through highs & lows, but it is all in an effort to achieve peace & balance in her life. She isn't finished with dealing with dark days where her emotions are uncontrollable, but she still plans to move forward. She's working through an energy that has made it hard to trust others, but Alex means her well so she is finding it easy to trust him, thereby learning to be open with others again in a more "organically Cassie" way. I feel there is a lot of inner turmoil that she isn't acknowledging or that she is holding onto. Caring for her daughter is helping to teach her patience and love in all forms. There is a duality that needs to be understood instead of oppressed. I also feel she has a lot of ideas/projects that she may want to invest in, but she never acted on that calling because of what she would be up against. I expect her to be very lowkey about her life in the public, as well as her marriage, & she may not even shared these passions or desires with many people. She believes she is destined to heal others through her own healing and that is her exact approach and motive from here on out (a career move she decides to take will probably be a reflection of that). She's allowing her ancestors/spirit team to guide her & she is working on her surrender to trust to the higher workings.
Advice: Cassie may be trying to heal a wounded energy child of hers. She may need to be careful expressing her pain or sadness their self destructive or uncontrolled ways. She has to be careful not to take on the world problems as her own, as well as an undiscovered or unexplored temper/anger that can build-up & manifest into something out of her control. There is also an issue of her being entrapped in her head that may be less than helpful to her. Cassie knees to allow all of herself to crumble what she is clinging on to so she can become inspired again; a 'destroy & rebuild' tactic. She should come to realize all in her life that is beautiful & find faith in being 100% open to any and all possibilities available to her. She needs to focus on lifting the veil around all that she use to allow as truth; she must have more of an questioning approach to everything. Anything unaligned with her spirit will need to be removed from her life, whether by her own doing or by the hand of spirit. She needs to approach things as a mediator for her own personal energy; she needs to be able to have neutral motives or fairness when it comes to herself & others, & she needs to establish the proper boundaries that will protect herself from those who mean her harm.
🕊 BONUS QUESTION:
😤 How does Alex Fine feel about Diddy + his kids (mainly his sons)❓
Alex feels Diddy is plotting behind the scenes, as he has actively tried to get under Cassie, & his, skin. He may be worried that Cassie's grief toward him is romantic, which is far from true. He harbors a lot of resentment for Cassie's past, & he doesn't trust that Diddy won't try to keep resurfacing. He also feels personally that Diddy thinks too highly of himself & his negative judgment of reality. He doesn't agree with his lifestyle, but he feels his motives/actions are coming from a hurt place. Alex's overall view of the Combs' brothers is that they are 'grown up products' of their father & to see them go down a certain route would be unfortunate to him. He also feels grief for 2/3s of the boys' loss of their mother (he slightly feels this grief for Diddy as well, which he feels contributes to his theory), & he finds it unfortunate they don't have a positive influence in their father. He does believe Diddy has some demons & darkness that dwells within him & that he is an unstable person.

Before the Re-read the Animorphs
Okay before I begin my re-read this is my thoughts on the main cast based on my memory of the last times I read the books (which varies between a few months ago for some and several years for others)
Let's get the hard one out of the way first. I'll start with my thoughts on Cassie. I make no secret that Cassie is the only Animorph I actively dislike. In a way it is tragic because as I've said before Cassie had potential as a character. A character with a very black and white viewpoint and a strong desire to stick to their point of view no matter the cost being confronted with the messy nature or war could have been a gold mine for interesting story lines. Instead Cassie is cast as the voice of morality and the conscience of the group which is a role she is absolutely terrible at. Because in the end she's no more moral than the rest of them (arguably actively even less moral) and her being right is more a function of being creators pet than any real logical story progression. Things work out for her because the creators say even when it breaks the story or contradicts established facts.
In Essence everything wrong with Cassie is everything wrong with the books as a whole which makes her a pretty big example of what not to do in writing. However, even if you ignore all that and focus only her personality she is still lacking. When first introduced Cassie is your typical childish self centered idealist. She puts great value on the things she cares about and tries not to thinka bout things that contradict that view point. Then she doens't really change she's a static character.
There is one redeeming factor about Cassie that is interesting but since it was unintentional I can't give complete credit to the creators for it. Cassie is a perfect example of everything wrong with Empathy as a stand in for goodness. Cassie is actually a very empathic character but she is also a very selfish character. Once she empathises with someone they become "Good" in her mind and she'll bend over backwards to justify making decisions that would negatively effect folks she isn't empathising with. It also informs how she is determined to stay in others good graces and only fights them when she can play the martyr.  Which reminds me of my wish that David had stuck around longer and been a foil to Cassie for a while because they really are starkly similar characters in most regards except Cassie has an almost over developed sense of Empathy (to the point she can be okay with horrendous shit if she empathizes with the ones doing it) and David has almost none outside of the things he cares out.  They are both also able to manipulate people to get what they want. And they read people very well to keep in their good graces or really hurt them if they piss them off enough.
But that isn't what this post is about so to sum up my view on Cassie is that she had potential but what we got was a horrendous character and the biggest disappointment of the books.
Now let's move onto another hard one to talk about and that is Tobias. When I first read the books oh so long ago I way over identified with Tobias but then I was a messed up lonely kid so it's not that surprising. Looking back on them as an adult it flew over my head back then how utterly fucked up Tobias is. This is not a healthy kid even before he got stuck as a hawk. Tobias was clearly already borderline suicidal even before the hawk thing and afterwards it and everything else in many ways turned into a much slower long and detailed decline into an early death. Tobias hated himself so he chose to give up all humanity forever. Which brings us to the problem with Tobias and that is the narrative never acknowledges how fucked up his situation is. Sure some of the other characters come close but they never fully grasp it.Tobias is in many ways one of the other great disappointments of the books because early on they clearly drop hints that he has a major role to play in things to the point where the freaking Ellimist preserves his existence by bending space time twice once to keep him around and then to ensure the animorphs happened and then the plot line is abandoned in favor of creators pet Cassie being the most important and special.
Now I love stories where the chosen one isn't that chosen after all but that needs to be intended from the beginning when you heavily lay on the foreshadowing that this is going to be an important element you need to address it. Instead the potential story line just peters out in a way that doesn't amount to anything not even a subversion. Tobias then sticks around to be a general misery magnet and to have the most unhealthy relationship possible with Rachel.
I mean I know stories change direction in production and over time and some times that leads to better stories and some times it leads to obvious dropped plot lines and a general degrading of quality. Animorphs sadly is in the second category.  Part of it of course was the real world rush to churn out the books for Schoolastic but parts of it were clearly the writers getting a bit too enamored of their pets and how they wanted things to end.
I'm getting off topic again. My view on Tobias is that he's an interesting character and one that you can pity but man is that boy fucked up.
Now let's move onto Ax the Andalite Animorph and the other one besides Cassie and Tobias who ends up kind of one note. Ax plays an interesting role since hes alien and the books do a good job of showing an alien viewpoint. Far better in his case than many of the other aliens. It helps that he's basically a slacker alien who was a poor student and probably only got brung along on the ship because his big brother pulled some strings.
Ax is also a prime example of another time when the potential of the story gets left by the way side. Ax's torn loyalties should have come up more than they did and should have had more lasting repercussions. Way too often he'll get reduced to joke one note status when he should be figuring into things more. I don't have much more to say about him since I really remember as liking him but thinking he was wasted several times.
And now we'll move onto Marco a character who when I first read the books annoyed the crap out of me but as I grew older grew on me a great deal. Marco is a wonderful example of a character who can be obnoxious to protect themselves and despite being the other creators pet he is allowed to actually change in ways that are both good and bad so he's not another Cassie. The fact he's even allowed to disagree with her at least temporarily and call her on her BS very rarely also helps. Marco is also very realistic in that he reacts like many people would and for a lot of folks it would take somethign that affected them personally to make them fight as hard as the kids had to end up fighting.
Of course there is still one irritating thing about Marco and that's how he's often forced into the role of the complainer is wrong some times for the others (esp Cassie) to be right. It's a role he shares wtih Rachel she'll suggest the violent solution so it can be rejected and he'll suggested the better strategic solution but it'll be rejected for being wrong.
So final thoughts on Marco slightly annoying at times but very realistic and really grows on you.
Now let's talk about Rachel and this is the character whose fate pisses me off the most. I have no problem with character death in a story but Rachel's death is treated by the creators as necessary and it bleeds into the narrative abit and that really pisses me off.  She's also unfortunately the one who gets the most chaotic characterization as depending on teh writer how aggressive she is varies. Not to mention the books that paint her as a control freak. Of course you can hand wave it as the stress getting to her in different less pretty ways but that raises it's own problems with with how the narrative treats her. She's often also used as a foil to shill for Cassie and that bugs me. She and her cousin get the most discussion of Cassie's moral superiority though everyone gets a turn on it.
And what is really sad is that she only gets to really call out Cassie and the others very rarely even though they are some of the most satisfying moments in the entire series. She's right when she calls out that the others need her to be the blood thirsty one. She's actually someone clearly sacrificing for the greater good but the narrative treats her as a blood knight. It really pisses me off and while her relationship with Tobias isn't even remotely healthy it makes a lot of sense because the others treat her as damaged and thanks to his neediness he'll never look at her as a monster like the others tend to do to make themselves feel better.
I'll make one final observation and that's that poor Rachel may have died twice in the series the first time being the starfish incident. Cause the Rachel that was split in half would never exist again. The two Rachels may have been re-merged but they had each had time to begin to diverge so what was formed out of them would be a new Rachel. Hell a lot of her issues later in the series could have been a direct result of that and it would make perfect sense.
Final thoughts on Rachel she deserved so much better and was probably one of the more selfless animorphs but gets written off by the narrative as just a blood knight too damaged to live.
Now let's move onto Jake who is actually my favorite character. I know a lot of folks find him boring and generic at first but that's exactly why he's the character that interest me the most because even more than the others he was just a kid when this mess started. You can see the seeds of who everyone else turned out to be in who they were at the start but Jake was just a kid who was slightly more mature and better able to mediate.  That got him forced into the leadership Role and from there for good or ill that's the role he got stuck with. Like Rachel he became exactly what the others needed him to be and at times it wasn't pretty.
I mean it's so easy to picture how the others would have turned out, Cassie would have ended up one of those activist who says a lot of good things but is very much a walking illustration of perfect is the enemy of good with her probably doing more harm than help to her causes by turning folks off with her my way or the highway stance.  Rachel would have excelled at whatever chosen path she took with incredible zeal and bending herself to be what folks in her life needed. Ax would have lived in the shadow of his brother as a semi competent warrior at best, Tobias would have remained very fucked up and Marco would have done what it took to not be poor and mask all his hurts with laughter and entertaining folks.  Jake on the other hand is the one that just sort of was. He could end up really generic or find something he's good at and make it his life.
Instead he was given the role of responsibility and for the most part he carried the burden though his putting Cassie on a pedestal constantly was one part character flaw and one part character shilling by the creators. It was a realistic flaw he liked her and wanted her to like him. That was very human and relatable but his constant support for some of her more stupid moments crossing the line into plot induced stupidity.
One part that is really sad is that he's often compared with Elfangor and the narrative takes the appraoch that he falls short but honestly to me Jake comes off as more of a success than Elfangor and I wish the narrative acknowledged it. Of course I'll share my thoughts on Elfangor in another post.
There is more I could go into but this post has gotten long enough for now so final Thoughts on Jake generic kid forced to grow up even faster than others. Has an irritating blind spot when it comes to Cassie but over all my favorite of the kids.
