I just want to publicly apologize to Lyney and Lynette for the awful way that Traveler reacted to their backstory.
Traveler does not speak for me!! 😭

We need more No Hard Feelings AUs
The possibilities are endless.
There doesn’t even have to be an age difference. The plot is just fun enough that you really only need two characters who come from very different lives.
Person A, who’s awkward, socially isolated, and is practically (or is) a virgin.
Person B, who’s the polar opposite—confident, charming, and broke (but has a healthy sex life).
Person A’s parents (or friends) hire Person B to “date” Person A with the promise of a car or money or whatever fits the universe.
The story doesn’t even need to be about sex. Person B can also be hired to be Person A’s friend, in order to help them learn to socialize. :)
Person B falls in love with Person A and along the way, helps Person A gain confidence, etc.
Person A finds out about the deal. Angst ensues. 😱
They break up, make-up, the end! What’s not to like?
Take this as my cue to encourage you to watch the movie if you haven’t already!! It’s hilarious, lovable, and oh so fun!

Barbenheimer weekend was AMAZING 🥹💕
However, I’ve been seeing a lot of posts about Oppenheimer that are irritating me, and I just wanna make something clear:
OPPENHEIMER IS NOT ABOUT THE ATOMIC BOMB.
Yes, it talks about the atomic bomb, because it’s an important part of Oppenheimer’s life, but the bomb itself is a small part of the movie. The subject of the movie is the title: Oppenheimer. It’s a movie about him.
It’s about his genius, his flaws, his stress and anxiety, his guilt, his relationship with his wife (someone give Emily Blunt an Oscar), and his guilt about the atomic bomb, and the trial. A lot of people are assuming it’s about the bomb, because of the promotional poster, but the man was called “the Father of the atomic bomb.”
Also, people saying that they’re no Japanese people in the film…why would there be? It’s not about WW2, it’s about Oppenheimer. His life, the work that went into making the atomic bomb, and all the issues and arguments that went into it. It would be insanely rude and insensitive to show that part of it, because the movie isn’t about the bomb. The most they would’ve showed is the bombing and then y’all REALLY would’ve been mad.
If you don’t wanna see it, by all means, don’t watch it. However, don’t say, “they’re praising the atomic bomb and then dropping it,” because that’s not what the movie is about AT ALL. If anything, it shows how much guilt and regret the physicists/scientists felt during creating it, and how much they felt after it was dropped.
The movie is a biopic about a man, not a bomb.
Also, Barbie was the shit and you should all watch it.
Both movies are a 10/10.

Oppenheimer is about J. Robert Oppenheimer. We know that a-bomb was fucked up and the effects aren’t just centered around the Japanese bombing because the radiation seeped into the nearby land and water, and hopefully someone will do something about the fallout of the Trinity Test, but the movie is a biopic on Oppenheimer. You can’t expect everything about the aftermath of the Trinity Test and the bombings to be displayed, and I think it was a good move not to show the aftermath of the bombs in Japan.
There is a disconnect between the Americans and what happened in Japan. The movie shows that. We know it’s super fucked up and the movie says that too. I feel like people should watch it instead of blindly saying “Oh it’s American propaganda” because it’s not. If you come out of this film thinking there was a hero, you definitely missed something vital there.
I don’t know why this keeps happening, but I’ve seen this happen with Multiverse of Madness as well. Oppenheimer is a film about Oppenheimer. Sure, maybe it sucks ass that some of the side characters (Florence Pugh’s specifically) weren’t super fleshed out, but you can only put so much into three hours. You can’t fit every perspective, every event, into this film, especially when it’s specifically about Oppenheimer.
Also, it’s a very shitty move by Warner Bros to release Barbie on Oppenheimer’s release date and hype it so much, especially after Nolan very explicitly left them because of the streaming thing which hurt the people making these films. I’m proud of the internet (dear god I never thought I’d say this) for more or less marrying the two films instead of starting a rivalry. But to those people being mean to this movie because of loyalty to Barbie AND with no genuine criticisms of the film, please don’t.

Love that Oppenheimer is a deeply disturbing horror movie about a man forced to accept that he is, in a person, the representative manifestation of mankind’s evil in committing one of the greatest horrors of human history - LITERALLY acting as the modern Prometheus, tormented by his sins for the remainder of time. Knowing that he will never be pitied and his actions will forever be utterly unforgivable because the blood of genocide and the potential of total human annihilation will eternally drip from his hands.
But also the simultaneous indictment by the film that to blame a single person for the Manhattan Project is to refuse to accept your own capacity for great evil if the ends ever seem to justify the means, and the culpability of every member of a species that lets itself create something so unspeakably terrible.
Hate that twitter’s take on such a nuanced and brilliantly handled examination of those issues is “movie bad because protagonist not evil enough.”

What’s most annoying about alicent is how she keeps blaming rhaenyra for her father’s actions. Rhaenyra was not the one who made you ‘comfort’ the king and forced you into that marriage. Your father did. Rhaenyra was not the one who made you paranoid, bitter and angry. Your father did. Rhaenyra never posed a threat to alicent’s children whatsoever. Otto manipulated her into thinking that she did and she ran with it and channelled all the anger and bitterness she felt about how her life had panned out onto rhaenyra. Rhaenyra told one lie, a lie that did not affect alicent’s life in any shape or form. Sacrifice? Duty? Nobody asked that of you except your father!

Literally. Why would she throw the competition? The whole reason ROC pushed so hard for her to compete was because they wanted the Russian sweep 🤦🏻‍♀️
The girl is having the worst week of her life. Even the strongest full grown adult would crumble under that pressure. And Kamila is a child in a foreign country, with her family at home, and she’s been there for weeks.
I don’t think Kamila was throwing the competition? You can see how devastated she was. Is it not just possible that putting the weight of a scandal and her coach’s reputation on her shoulders might have made her really fucking stressed? Like can we chill with the conspiracy theories for a minute?

The more I see about Sasha’s reaction, the more sense everything makes. At first, I’ll admit, I was shocked, mostly because of the way it was being shown. But she is the only one without a gold medal. I think this goes back all the way to the free in the team event, when they found out who will compete so last minute. There are probably so many more deeper reasons as well, regarding the training camp.
And Anna’s reaction, or lack of one, makes so much sense as well. Anna has always seemed like such an empathic person, and she is the one person who has been friends with all of them (Sasha, Aliona and Kamila). Shit. This is so messy.

Agreed 1000%
Well
IOC, ISU, WADA, USADA and all disgusting journalists, congratulations to you all. I hope you’re all proud of yourselves.
You f*cking broke her. You broke a 15 year old girl, whose only fault was representing Russia. Oh, I’m sorry, ROC. Somehow, I suspect that if she was from ANY other country on this planet, this so called “doping scandal”(aka the clown show) wouldn’t appear out of thin air.
This is school of life for Kamila. I hope she comes out of it mentally stronger than ever. But, wow, what a mess.
Congratulations to Anya, Sasha and Kaori.
