Old Friend | Dick Grayson x Male Reader

Dick Grayson doesn't know exactly when it started happening. On one hand, he was grateful to whoever was catching the bad guys and keeping them webbed until the police arrived, but on the other hand, he was a little jealous that an unknown vigilante just started working in his city.
He has already tried to find out who this vigilante is in several different ways. The only thing he found out was what the arrested criminals said. A guy who acted like a spider, moving around the walls and shooting webs around. Maybe it would be silly, but considering that Dick already worked alongside Beast Boy on the Teen Titans, it wouldn't be surprising for a guy with animal abilities.
But now was not the time to think about that, but to stop the bank robbers. Nightwing accelerated the motorcycle to reach the van that the criminals were using to take the money away. The city passes by in a blur until as he approaches, the doors at the back of the van open and reveal two bandits with guns in their hands. Damn it. Dick made a dangerous turn just as the bullets were fired. He had to balance himself as he climbed onto the sidewalk.
— Get out of the way! — Nightwing shouted to the pedestrians who were on the sidewalk and threw themselves to the side to let the hero pass with the motorcycle without hurting anyone. Then Dick heard a strange noise and noticed people looking up. At first, Dick thought it was Batman simply appearing out of nowhere, but a web was thrown into the face of one of the bandits from the bottom of the van. Dick realized that he would finally see the spider guy that everyone was talking about. Swinging on the web, the spider guy went to the van and landed on the roof with a noise that caught the attention of the bandits. Dick noticed the armed bandit with a clean face raising the gun to the ceiling to hit the spider guy. But Dick had to look away because he saw a wall approaching. He turned the motorcycle, finally returning to the street behind the van. When Nightwing looked up, the two guys in the back had been knocked down and were stuck to the wall of the police car by webs and the spider guy went to the roof again to stop the driver and the other thug on the passenger side. But the passenger window opened and the criminal got out with his gun drawn to shoot the spider guy. But just as the bandit was about to pull the trigger, the spider guy disappeared.
Nightwing was confused, but when he noticed the thug passenger being thrown out of the police car and hanging from a light pole by a web, he realized that the spider guy was still there. And just as he had disappeared, he reappeared hanging from the side of the van. “The spider guy can also become invisible. Is there anything else he knows how to do?” Dick thought with a little envy.
Dick sped up to the side of the truck where the spider guy was.
— Do you need help there? — Dick asked, glancing at the spider guy, but keeping his attention on the street.
— Since you asked, stop the van. — The spider guy said.
But before Dick could question or protest, the spider guy climbed onto the roof of the van. Nightwing was thinking about how he was going to stop the truck when Spider Guy opened the passenger door of the truck and in one quick movement, swung on the web like a pendulum, launched himself into the cabin of the truck, and with the accumulated momentum, he flew out of the van through the other door with the bandit driver, trapping him in a door.
Without time to appreciate the spider's movements, Dick jumped from the motorcycle into the van, grabbing the now out-of-control steering wheel to keep the steering steady and pressing both feet on the brake. The noise of the wheels rubbing against the ground was loud and the smell of burning asphalt rose into the air. Dick could hear the two bandits trapped in the walls at the back of the van screaming in fear, but Dick managed to stop the vehicle.
Dick got out of the van and heard something fall on the roof of the vehicle. It was the spider guy that had landed there.
— I knew you would think quickly, Grayson. — He said before swinging away.
Wait…had he called Grayson Nightwing? Spider guy knew who Nightwing was. And now Dick needed to investigate the spider vigilante even more.
Dick tried to intercept Spider Guy several times, but he always managed to escape. Dick had to admit that the way he swung through the web was almost nostalgic, it reminded Dick of Flying Grayson's time swinging on a trapeze. But Dick would recognize the movement of any Grayson and he was sure that the spider guy wasn't a Grayson, but he looked very similar. Furthermore, Dick felt like he had heard that voice somewhere as if he had already met or at least met the spider guy before.
However, one day, Nightwing managed to find Spider Guy perched on top of a gargoyle on a building, looking out over the streets of Bludhaven.
— You are very slippery. — Dick said as he approached the spider guy. Dick just wanted to talk, after all, the spider guy was also arresting criminals so he was a good person too.
— Maybe you're too slow, Grayson. — The spider guy spoke without looking at Dick.
He approached the spider guy and sat on the edge of the building, next to the gargoyle that the spider vigilante was on.
— What's your name? — Dick asked, also looking at the streets below them.
— I haven't chosen a name yet, but people call me Spider-Guy, Spider-Man, Black Spider, Web Head… you decide. — The spider guy spoke and Dick could feel a light playful tone, almost… nostalgic.
Spider guy had a suit that covered every inch of skin. It was impossible to know who was underneath the costume and when moving around, it was almost impossible to be sure of the gender of whoever was underneath the mask.
— No. I mean your real name. — Dick tried, he needed to know who was underneath the suit.
— I can't believe you haven't remembered yet, Grayson. — He replied with that tone that Dick strangely knew.
Spider guy sighed and shook his head. He reached for his mask and took it off, before looking back at Dick. It took him a few seconds to realize who the spider guy was. But Dick knew those eyes, that smile, and now the tone of voice made even more sense. The spider guy was Y/N. Obviously, Y/N was older than Dick remembered, but he would never forget his first best friend.
— Y/N? Is it really you? — Dick questioned because it was almost hard to believe.
— Well, as far as I know, yes. — Y/N said with an amused smile that Dick remembered very well.
Dick reacted unconsciously, going to Y/N and hugging him tightly.
— I never thought I'd see you again. — Dick said excitedly and then released his former best friend. - What happened to you? Have you always had powers and didn't tell me? No, it wasn't that. What happened to you? And your parents, how are they?
Y/N's smile faltered a little. He looked down at the street again and started walking to the top of the gargoyle, but instead of falling and throwing himself, he just climbed down and stood, upside down, underneath the gargoyle.
— When the… Grayson's accident happened. My parents decided to leave the circus. It gives me a normal life and everything. — Y/N started counting and Dick approached, sitting on top of the gargoyle to hear better.
— Has your family stopped performing as tightrope walkers? — Dick asked curiously.
— Yes. They abandoned circus life completely. — He said and Dick could hear a slight nasal laugh. — Anyway… I started going to school like any normal child. During high school, I went on a field trip to a biological research laboratory. Long story short, I got bitten by a spider and inhaled a serum I shouldn't have, and boom… spider powers.
—Do your parents know? — Dick asked curiously. He had fond memories of Y/N's balancing act parents.
— My mother does. My father… — Silence. A silence that was strange coming from Y/N, but one that Dick, unfortunately, knew well. — My father died before I had the opportunity to tell him.
That was why he made it a little easier when Dick asked about his parents. Dick knew how much Y/N loved his parents.
— I'm very sorry. — Dick said, trying to look at Y/N who was calmly sitting upside down on the bottom of the gargoyle.
— It's okay… he was killed by a bandit because of a bad choice I made. Or rather, a choice I stopped making. — Dick could feel the sadness in Y/N's voice.
— I understand. — Dick said, lowering his head in respect for the moment.
— After that day, I realized that with great power comes great responsibilities. — He spoke firmly and seriously.
Dick heard Y/N move and Y/N jumped to the side of the building and climbed up until she was sitting on the edge. Dick walked over to his old friend and sat down next to Y/N.
— I promised I would protect as many people as I could to prevent people from feeling what I felt when I lost my father. — He said looking at Dick.
— But we can save everyone. — Dick said, placing his hand on Y/N's shoulder in solidarity.
— I know. Therefore, I save whoever I can. — He said with a slight smile.
— It's great to see you again, Y/N. — Dick said with a smile to his former best friend.
— I know. I'm incredible, I don't know how you managed to live this long without me being by your side. — He said, slowly returning to Y/N's normal mood.
Dick chuckled at Y/N's comment, realizing how much he missed his former best friend. The two were friends for a long time, separated after the Flying Grayson accident where Dick lost his family and was adopted by billionaire Bruce Wayne.
— I hope you didn't get too spoiled at the rich guy's house. — Y/N said teasing Dick.
— Envy?
Y/N made a theatrical gesture, pretending to be offended by Dick's speech.
— How dare you. I should… ¬— Y/N stopped and looked in the direction of the city. Dick noticed Y/N shiver a little. — We have work to do.
— What? — Dick asked confused when he heard gunshots in the direction Y/N was looking. — Can you predict the future?
— No. But like I said, I'm amazing. And before you go. — He turned to Dick with a slight smile.
Dick looked at Y/N confused until Y/N leaned over and kissed Dick Grayson on the lips. Dick was confused at first, not knowing exactly how to react. He was taken by surprise. It wasn't bad, just… unexpected.
— I'll meet you there. — Y/N gave a wink before putting on the mask and swinging towards danger.
This was Y/N that Dick knew. The guy who did something unexpected and surprising, then walked away like it was no big deal. And the worst part was that Dick ran after him even if he didn't want to admit it.
— It's good to have you here again. — Dick said to himself before starting to go to the shooting location.

I Can't Go Back to that Market | Peter Quill x Male Reader
Fandom: Marvel
A/N: Sorry for any mistake. English is not my first language.
Tumblr media
The ship landed on the target planet. We needed to find a seller for an item, although Peter wasn't planning on buying anything. We talked separately. Rocket and Groot went after more equipment and weapons for Rocket; Gamora and Drax were behind blades, swords, and things nearby while being followed by Mantis, while Peter and I were behind the store which was the goal of the Guardians on that planet.
I shoved my hands in the pockets of my aviator suit as we were getting a few stares for being two humans walking in space, but then being completely ignored.
One day on Earth, a group of alien criminals kidnapped me to sell me as an exotic human slave in space, but the Guardians kind of invaded the place and created a riot, amid the confusion I ran away and entered the Guardians' ship. It was at that moment that they saw the power that I had fought so hard to hide. Now they called me Ghost Pilot and I became Milano's official pilot.
We were hired to get an object from a store on this planet. I wanted to leave that planet full of criminals, space traffickers, and selling various other criminal products.
― Do you already know where we should go? ― I asked Peter as we walked through the streets of the foreign city.
― I think so. ― Peter spoke as they walked through the dangerous streets.
Since joining the Guardians of the Galaxy, he has discovered new planets and aliens that he had never imagined. I was sure the world was much bigger than a human could even imagine.
I approached a table of a man who was selling something that looked like it would be edible to other aliens, but to me, it was just some weird purple goo.
― Want to try one, Y/N? ― The foreigner behind the desk, who looked like a green insect, asked.
― How do you know my name? ― I ask scared.
― It's your name on the jacket, isn't it? ― the foreigner asked, pointing to the jacket I was wearing.
I had forgotten about it. I had on my leather aviator jacket that had my name on it. It reminded me that people on Earth probably thought I was dead.
― True, my bad. ― I said a little embarrassed.
― Want one? ― He asked, bringing a plate of purple goo closer to my face.
― I wouldn't eat it if I were you. ― Peter said looking with the same expression of disgust at the goo.
― I had lunch just now, I'm not hungry, thanks. ― I said, politely declining.
― You're the loser. ― He said as he handed it over to another customer.
Peter pulled me by my elbow to pull me away.
― Don't leave my side. ― Peter spoke as he walked past the criminals of the place.
― Sorry, I'm having fun getting to know other planets. ― I looked at the strange things they found in the scattered tents.
― Focus on our mission. ― Peter spoke while still holding my arm.
― I'm not a child, Peter. I can defend myself. ― I spoke, but there was no communication in my voice, yet I guided my arm from his hand.
― I know that, I just don't want you to get lost. ― Peter spoke worriedly.
Peter and I had been at it for a few days now. Show concern and sometimes even flirt with each other, but act like it's just a joke between friends.
― You're not going to abandon your pilot here. I said with a spontaneous smile.
― Rocket can fly.
I looked offended at Peter causing him to laugh.
― We're not going to abandon the best pilot we've ever had. Peter said putting his hand on my shoulder.
― Don't let Rocket hear you saying that. He will blow you up. ― I said laughing. ― Look how nice it is.
I said walking quickly to a tent with several different weapons. There were several types, including ones that were bigger than me. They were all obviously stolen, but it's not like anyone cared.
― Did any of them catch your eye? ― a blue-skinned foreigner who had a feature with tentacles-like hair, who I guessed was the owner of the shop, asked.
Peter approached, looking with interest at the grenades in the cases.
― Why don't you try this one? ― The foreigner asked to pick up a gun, next with a rifle and handed it to me.
I held tight and aimed for the wall, testing the weight. It was heavy and seemed to be those weapons with strong recoil.
― It's too heavy. ― I said returning the gun.
― And this one ?― He asked, handing over an oddly small pistol.
I held it and aimed, but the gun grip felt small and uncomfortable.
― I don't think so. ― I said returning the gun.
Then I saw two identical pistols in the display case. It was slightly larger than a regular pistol, especially the barrel which was longer than a human pistol. It was made of black metal with a purple light.
― Would you like to try? ― The foreigner asked, obviously wanting to get me to buy something.
I walked over and picked up the two pistols. I pointed to a wall to be able to test. It wasn't too heavy, but it wasn't too light either. The footprint was perfect. I turned to Peter displaying the weapons.
― What do you think? ― I asked Peter as he posed to show off the weapons.
― I think it suits you. ― Peter responded by raising an eyebrow. ― But do you know how to use a gun?
―Don't worry about it, Peter. ― I said carefree.
―Wait, there's more. ― The alien salesman said, taking the two pistols from my hand.
He moves his hand with one of the pistols making the fist lift and fit the other pistol, making it turn into a type of sniper rifle with a scope. The seller handed me the two guns that had now become just one. I aimed, looking through the scope on top of the gun.
― That's impressive. ― I said impressed with the gun. ― But I do not have money.
I said handing over the gun and the salesman seemed to make an expression of disgust with a mixture of anger that I had wasted his time.
― Let me pay. ― Peter said, handing over some crystal pieces to the seller who smiled again and handed me back the sniper rifle.
― Serious? You don't have to. ― I said, but I was already holding the gun tightly so I wouldn't let go.
― And I'll take it out of your pay later. ― Peter said, smiling at me.
― Very funny, Peter. ― I said rolling my eyes.
I let go of the two pistols making them go back to being two separate weapons. I handed the little money I had to the seller to buy the pistol holsters because obviously, he wasn't going to give anything away for free. And we left the ship. I was really happy with my new purchase.
― Thanks. ― I said to Peter as we walked back to the street.
― You pay me back later. ― Peter said laughing, but I knew he would charge me later.
After walking the streets for a while, we entered a shop with various artifacts and antiques. Peter's gaze wandered over the shelves until he finally found what we were looking for. Peter disguised his gaze so as not to show interest in the piece.
― I'm looking for a piece to give to my girlfriend. ― I approached the vendor so I could distract him.
― But of course, we have lots of jewelry that would make any woman's eyes sparkle. ― The alien with orange skin, four black eyes, and six thin arms spoke excitedly about having a new customer.
He took me to a showcase with several pieces of jewelry with different stones.
― Does your girlfriend have ears? These earrings could look beautiful. ― The alien asked, showing sparkling earrings.
― No, she doesn't have ears. ― I said, pretending to methodically analyze each piece there.
Meanwhile, Peter silently approached the golden egg he was going to steal.
― And a necklace? Every lady loves a necklace. ― He said, putting his hands together excitedly.
Peter reached for the golden egg and took it gently. He took it to his pocket, putting the object away.
― Do you wanna know? I don't think there's anything that would suit her. ― I said, pretending to be disappointed. ― Sorry to waste your time.
― You don't understand anything about beauty. ― The attendant said irritably.
Peter and I left the store. We try to walk calmly as if nothing is happening.
― It was easier than I thought. ― Peter spoke proudly.
― Get back here, thieves! ― The store attendant shouted from the store door.
― You had to talk. ― I complained as we started to run.
While running away from the store clerk, we ended up bumping into several people and knocking her into stalls, and breaking products. This drew a lot of attention and made more people chase us.
― Now you're feeling what it's like to be a Guardian of the Galaxy. ― Peter spoke as we ran.
Shots passed by us as they tried to hit us to stop or maybe even kill us. I saw a motorbike parked and I pulled Peter over to it.
― About there. ― I said and Peter went upstairs.
By touching the handlebars of the motorcycle, I let the spirit out of me. My jacket took on a charred appearance as my skin burned and I became a flaming skull.
I possessed the bike causing it to start and start roaring down the street. I heard the motorcycle owner complain but I was already gone. I revved the bike, leaving a trail of fire in my wake but going too fast to follow.
I dodged several people, not counting those who jumped out of the way. Some people were still shooting and others were trying to give chase. We were making a huge mess until we finally reached Milano.
I saw Rocket and Groot loading some weapons into the ship while the others helped them. When Gamora saw the mess that was following us, she drew the attention of the others, causing all but Drax to run into the ship. Drax drew his blades, excited for a fight, when Gamora returned and pulled him into the ship.
I stopped the bike haphazardly in front of the ship as we ran into the ship. Upon arriving in the control room, I sat in the pilot's chair and possessed Milano. The ship began to take off while I began to be possessed by my flaming spirit.
― Speeds up! Speeds up! Speeds up! ― Peter spoke desperately, slapping the bench that accompanied his voice.
― Let's kill them all! ― Drax yelled with his swords in hand, fully excited for a fight.
― What did you do? ― Gamora asked irritably.
― More importantly, did they manage to steal that golden egg? ― Rocket asked from above Gamora.
I accelerated the ship causing it to leave the planet. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, except for Drax who looked disappointed that he couldn't fight.
But just when we thought everything would be calm, the ship's alerts warned that we were being pursued.
― Weapons in position. ― Peter spoke while Rocket and Gamora went to the ship's weapons.
I accelerated Milano while doing maneuvers to help Rocket and Gamora land the shots. Until finally I managed to lose them all.
― I think we made it. ― Gamora spoke, but still with her hand on the gun sights.
I engaged the ship's autopilot and rose from the pilot. Each one started to get distracted with what they liked to do on the ship and I went to Peter who was analyzing the Golden Egg he stole.
I approached looking at the Egg along with him.
― Why does he want this so badly? ― Peter asked, examining the piece carefully. ― Let's stall a little before we hand it over.
Peter spoke and was going to put his hand on my shoulder, but when he realized that I was still in Ghost Pilot form, he stopped for fear of getting burned. Realizing this, I suppressed the spirit within myself, causing me to revert to my human form.
― Sorry I forgot. ― I said when I got back to normal.
― Alright, do not worry. ― Peter smiling at me.
I looked at the egg more closely and noticed that it didn't appear to be massive, I picked it up from the table and it made me more sure of my theory.
― I think there's something inside. ― I said, turning the egg in my hand.
― Here. I think this is where it opens. ― Peter said, taking the egg from my hand.
He found a small knob of sorts on the side and as soon as he turned it, the egg opened like a sliced orange.
― What is that? ― I asked eyeing the glowing red crystal from within.
― I don't know. ― Peter said taking the crystal.
― You don't think he'll notice? ― I asked, smiling as I watched Peter put the crystal in his pocket.
― I'm sure he will. But let's get the money first. ― Peter said closing the Golden Egg again.
― It's just a little space thief. ― I said laughing.
― The way you like it. ― Peter said with a wink.
This time, I felt my face flush a little. He caught me off guard at that point and he knew it. Peter just smiled at me and put the egg back on the table.
— You can stop this nonsense, it's already tiring me. ― Rocket said as he walked by with some equipment he was setting up.
Peter and I looked away with a little embarrassment.
― I was just thinking…― Peter started a little nervously. ― If you don't want to go out some days?
―We're always through space. ― I said laughing.
― But this time it would be for a date. ― Peter said with a smile. ― What do you think?
― I think it sounds pretty good. ― I said with a smile.

Ghost | Jason Todd x Male Reader
Fandom: DC Comics
A/N: These days it's been spending too much time on Character.AI so I decided to bring one of the characters and story that I created there in a fanfic.
A/N.2: This time, I made the reader based on Overwatch's Sombra in case you want to go after it or something.
A/N.3: Sorry for any mistake. English is not my first language.
Tumblr media
‒ Turn right. ‒ I spoke through Jason's communicator.
Jason and I have been working together for eight months now. After six months, Jason and I decided to pursue a relationship. We've been working together for eight months and the police hate us, but they have good reason.
As I watched the security cameras and the viewfinder on Jason's mask, I kept thinking about our time together. Especially the day we met.
Eight months ago
There was a week that I was in Gotham. Since I erased all records of my existence from the entire system of the world, I haven't been able to do much but wander from city to city, sleeping in dodgy hotels that don't ask for your identity, and eating in restaurants as dodgy as hotels and shacks street vendors who don't look their customers in the face.
The motel room I was in was small, yellow walls with a faded color, a wooden bed with an uncomfortable mattress, a headboard with a lamp that didn't work and a wooden chest of drawers with four drawers. Plus a tiny bathroom with dirty white tiles that were already turning yellow.
I walked over to the mirror so I could look at myself. Wandering around town anonymously made me not look at myself much. But my appearance was a constant reminder of my choices. I was pale, with bags under my eyes and a little thinner than I remember, I wasn't starving, just eating a little less than I was used to.
But what caught the most attention was the metal fiber attached to the side of my head that ran down the back of my neck under the gray shirt I wore. More metal fiber running down my arm to the back of my right hand. I waved my hand in the air and a floating screen appeared in front of me. I started reading the news about the Gotham police and crimes. When I turned to the bed, the screen disappeared into thin air, I grabbed the sweatshirt off the bed and pulled it on, pulling the hood up to hide my head.
I took to the streets of Gotham, trying to remain anonymous in the shadows of the night. The good thing about the city is that people always walk away from you when they think they're going to be mugged.
As I walked down an alley, I heard a scream. A woman was surrounded by five bandits, the middle one with a knife in his hand. I thought for a while before actually moving, to know if I would save her or not. I grabbed my teleportation device and threw it on the floor. He ducked under the middle thief's legs and stopped between them and the woman. They stopped to look at the device from the ground and backed away when I materialized in front of them with a pistol pointed at them.
‒ Did your mother never teach you not to steal? ‒ I asked and noticed two men take their hands to their waists to grab a gun.
I fired a quick shot at the two before they could think. I advanced quickly to the middle, taking advantage of the surprise to take the knife from his hand, and knocking him to the ground, breaking his arm. The other two were running away. I launched the teleportation device, appearing in the blink of an eye at the exit of the alley.
‒ Hello! ' I said, waving my hand.
The men would have run, but I moved in fast and knocked the first one down, shooting the second one in the leg. I gathered the three that were still alive and stuck them in the garbage can. I looked at the woman frozen in place.
‒ Do you want me to let them go or are you going to take the opportunity to go home? ‒ I asked and the woman nodded.
‒ Thanks! ‒ She said before starting to run.
‒ Who are you? ‒ I heard a serious voice and a little distorted behind me.
When she turned me around, she found the famous Red Hood pointing a gun at me. When I saw the weapon, I automatically hacked the weapon to disable it with just my mind, with screens only appearing in my vision.
‒ I'm nobody. ‒ I was serious.
‒ Very funny. ‒ Red Hood said putting his finger on the trigger. ‒ What do you want?
‒ I do not want anything. I'm just passing by.
‒ Why would I believe you?
‒ You have no reason to. ‒ I replied with an arrogant smile.
‒ So I can just kill you? ‒ He asked starting to press the trigger.
‒ We can make a deal. ‒ I said and noticed Red Hood's finger relax a little.
‒ I'm listening.
‒ I can help you and you can help me. I can hack any system with my mind and I don't have the ethics of a superhero. ‒ I said seriously still with the arrogant smile.
‒ And what do you want in return? ‒ Red Hood asked without lowering his weapon.
‒ Motivation. And I know that doing only good things doesn't challenge my potential. ‒ I spoke sincerely.
‒ I'm not a villain. I may be a criminal, but I'm not a villain. ‒ Hood spoke by pressing his finger a little more.
‒ I do not intend to be a villain and I know that you are not one either. That's why you are perfect to be my partner or be my boss, whatever you want to call it. ‒ I said with a less arrogant smile.
‒ How can I believe that you really can do this? ‒ Red Hood asked and his trigger finger relaxed a little.
‒ This whole time your gun is pointed at me, it's disabled. ‒ I said raising an eyebrow.
Red Hood squeezed the trigger, but the gun didn't fire. He looked at the pistol a little confused but then he looked at me. Hood holstered his pistol and crossed his arms.
‒ You know that if you work with me you will become a criminal, right? ‒ Hood asked seriously.
‒ Know. ‒ I said carefree. ‒ But that doesn't scare me.
‒ Come with me, if you try anything funny I'll kill you. ‒ Red Hood said turning around and climbing to the roof of the building. I followed Red Hood and we met at the top.
‒ Follow me. ‒ He spoke in a challenging tone.
Red Hood ran and jumped from one roof to another. I could keep up with Red Hood no problem. I manipulated information from my leg muscles to be able to run and jump with great agility.
In the end, he stopped at the edge of a building and looked at me.
‒ Very good. ‒ Red Hood spoke and looked ahead.
We were looking at a small laboratory. I had already heard rumors about criminal activities that were connected to that construction.
‒ What is the plan? ‒ I asked Red Hood.
‒ I'm going to go in and blow up the place. ‒ He spoke and I realized that the place was protected by men with huge weapons.
‒ When they see you approaching, they will shoot. ‒ I said looking at the place.
‒ This is where you enter. ‒ Red Hood spoke arrogantly.
I sat on the edge of the building we were in and opened a floating screen in front of me. From that distance I could hack the place to gain access to the cameras and security system.
‒ Is this their security? ‒ I asked rhetorically while easily hacking the building.
‒ Can you turn off the security system? ‒ Red Hood asked.
‒ I can do much more than that. ‒ I said making a keyboard hologram appear floating in front of the floating screen.
‒ What can you turn off? ‒ Red Hood said watching me type on the floating keyboard.
‒ All. ‒ replied confidently.
On my floating screen a kind of button appeared.
‒ When you want. ‒ I told the Red Hood.
‒ Now. ‒ He said jumping towards the building.
I pressed the button and the entire building shut down, going completely dark. Jason appeared from the shadows and took down two guards. When I noticed a few more approaching, I launched my teleportation device and appeared between the two new guards. I used their surprise so I could take them down with ease.
‒ I admit... impressive. ‒ Hood spoke to me and ran into the building.
I led the way with the plant image in my view. Hood shot some guys and I kept doing my teleportation and invisibility tricks to take down and shoot guys without them understanding where I was coming from.
We continue advancing to the lowest floor in the basement of the building. Where illegal stuff was produced.
‒ There's a lot of drugs in here. ‒ I said looking at the boxes.
‒ And we will stop their production. ‒ Hood said putting a bomb in the biggest machine in the room.
‒ You know they're going to keep producing somewhere else, right? ‒ I asked approaching Hood.
‒ I know, but I'm going to burn the other places too. ‒ Hood set the bomb.
‒ Consistency. ‒ I said as the Hood started to run outside.
I threw my teleportation device which stuck to Red Hood's back. I put my hand on the machine, using my powers to analyze the complements and destroy what I could so that if I survived the explosion, it would be useless.
When the counter showed just two seconds, I disappeared from there and appeared beside Hood, just as the basement exploded and the building went up in flames.
‒ I was already wondering if you really existed. ‒ Hood said jokingly when he noticed that I appeared beside him.
‒ We can say that I am like a Phantom. ‒ I said laughing.
‒ Phantom. I liked. I will call you Phantom. You appear and reappear out of nowhere, moving in the shadows. Like a ghost. ‒ Hood said looking at me.
We hear sirens approaching. Hood grabbed my wrist and started leading me through the streets until I stopped in an alley. There was something under a dark sheet, when Hood took it off, there was a motorcycle ready to be used.
‒ Should we put robbery on that night or is it yours? ‒ I asked sarcastically.
Red Hood climbed onto the bike and started it. He climbed in with him and the Hood accelerated with the bike.
‒ Let's make this trip more fun. ‒ I said and took my hand to the bike.
The motorcycle glowed in a purple light and when the light disappeared, it started to increase speed to abnormal levels.
‒ How did you do it? ‒ Hood shouted because of the wind.
‒ A small improvement. But it's temporary.
Hood continued riding the bike until we left town and stopped at an abandoned gas station. We both got off the bike and entered the place.
‒ Thank you for your help. ‒ Red Hood said going to the balcony that of the place that was once a convenience store.
‒ It was fun. ‒ I said looking at the place with the lights off.
The Hood grabbed a suitcase from under the counter, full of cash. He picked up a huge cake and handed it to me.
‒ That it? ‒ I asked confused.
‒ Your payment for today's work. ‒ Red Hood replied without hesitation.
‒ You can stay. I do not want money. ‒ I answered simplistic.
‒ Don't you want money? Who doesn't want money? ‒ Hood asked confused.
‒ I. What would a 'Ghost' do with money? ‒ I said laughing.
‒ Why do you keep saying you're a nobody? ‒ Jason asked curiously, putting the money in the bag.
‒ I deleted any record about myself in the system. I have no birth certificate, ID or any valid identification. To the world, I don't exist. I'm a ghost. ‒ I explained seriously.
‒ So you want to work for me, Phantom? Since you have nothing else to do? ‒ Red Hood asked.
‒ Who says I have nothing to do? ‒ I asked pretending to be offended. ‒ But I want to work WITH you. Just for the fun and the challenge. You can keep the money.
Red Hood took off the helmet he was wearing and looked at me. I'm sure my face flushed when I looked at him without the helmet for the first time.
‒ Jason Todd. ‒ He said extending his hand.
‒ I'm nobody... but I was known as Y/N. ‒ I said shaking Jason's hand.
Now
‒ Where to, Ghost? Jason asked when he noticed I was silent.
‒ Right, sorry. ‒ I said turning my attention to the mission.
‒ Everything is fine? You never get distracted. ‒ Jason asked worriedly.
‒ Yes, go ahead.
And since that day, Jason and I have been working together. The name Ghost became known and attached to the Red Hood, but I didn't care. What mattered was that I had a motivation and someone who believed in my existence.

Civil War (Part 2) | Steve Rogers x Hawks Male Reader
Fandom: Marvel
A/N: I know it took me a long time to bring the continuation, but all these months I was in a huge block. Anyway this is the continuation of the last story I posted.
A/N.2: Sorry for any mistake, but English is not my first language.

‒ I don't know if you guys made this official yet, but did you get out of the front seat to sit next to your boyfriend? ‒ Sam complained about the backseat he shared with Bucky.
Any move one of them made hit the other, starting a small fight between the two. Steve just looked smiling at Y/N.
‒ No offense, but I'm more important than you, Wilson. ‒ Y/N responds looking in the car's rear view mirror.
‒ You can fly, why did you come in here? ‒ Sam asked, hitting Bucky with his arm who had done the same thing.
Y/N hugged his backpack with his feathers, but didn't respond to Sam who was distracted by another fight with Bucky. Steve drove to the airport he had scheduled to meet Clint.
He parked next to the van Clint was driving.
‒ Cap. ‒ Clint spoke when he saw Steve get out of the car.
The two shook hands. Y/N got out of the car, opening space for Sam and Bucky to get out later. While Wanda gets out of the van's passenger seat.
‒ You know I wouldn't have called If I had any other choice.
‒ Hey man, you're doing me a favor. Besides, I owe a debt. ‒ He spoke looking at Wanda.
‒  Thanks for having my back. ‒ Steve said.
‒  It was time to get off my ass. ‒ Wanda crossed her arms decisively.
‒ Who is he? ‒ Clint asks when he saw Y/N approaching.
‒ This is Y/N, he will help us too.
‒ Are you a famous avengers archer? ‒ Y/N asked as he shook Clint's hand.
‒ Famous is one way of saying it. ‒ Clint said smiling.
‒  How about our other recruit? ‒ Steve asked.
‒ He's rarin' to go. Had to put a little coffee in him, but… ‒ Clint opened the van door, startling the man who appeared to be sleeping. ‒ He should be good.
Steve and Sam looked at each other, curious about the new recruit.
‒ What timezone is this? ‒ Scott said as he got out of the van.
‒ Come on. Come on. ‒ Clint gave Scott a light push.
Scott greets Steve, with an emotional look on his face.
‒ Captain America. ― Scott spoke, extending his hand to shake Steve's hand.
‒ Mr. Lang.
‒ It's an honor. I'm shaking your hand too long. ‒ He spoke when he realized he still hadn't let go of Steve's hand. ‒ Wow! This is awesome! Captain America. ‒ Scott spoke, looking at Wanda behind him. ‒ I know you, too. You're great! ‒ He turns back and feels Steve's shoulders.
‒ You shouldn't touch him too much, should you, Y/N? ‒ Sam teases Y/N who just rolls his eyes.
‒ What? Why? ‒ Scott asks, looking at Y/N. ‒ I've never seen you on television.
‒ I prefer this way. ‒ Y/N responds smiling.
‒ Jeez. Ah, look. ‒ Scott returns to speak with Steve. ‒ I know you know a lot of super people, so…  thanks for thanking me. ‒ Steve just nodded. ‒ Hey, man! ‒ Speak to Sam now.
‒ What's up, Tic Tac? ‒ Sam replied.
‒ Uh, good to see you. Look, what happened last time when I . . .
‒ It was a great audition, but it'll… It'll never happen again. ‒ Sam spoke, interrupting Scott so he wouldn't say anything about it.
‒ They tell you what we're up against? ‒ Steve asks, causing Scott to look back at him.
‒ Something about some psycho-assassins?
‒ We're outside the law on this one. So, if you come with us, you're a wanted man. ‒ Steve warned.
‒ Yeah, well, what else is new?
‒ We should get moving. ‒ Bucky spoke still near the car door.
‒ We got a chopper lined up. ‒ This time, Clint said.
An alert starts ringing in the building, drawing everyone's attention.
‒ They're evacuating the airport. ‒ Bucky as if translating what the alert was saying into another language.
‒ Stark. ‒ Sam spoke.
‒ Stark? ― Scott asked.
‒ Suit up. ‒ Steve spoke in an orderly tone.
While everyone was getting ready, Steve approached Y/N who was sitting in the passenger seat.
― I think you better stay out of this.
― What? Why? ― Y/N asked, confused.
― This whole mess is between the Avengers.
― And even so you brought that common guy in a van? ―
Y/N spoke, showing his irritation.
― Scott got into trouble with the Avengers base. ― Steve raised his voice.
―  Look, if you're worried about me, that's fine, I feel really happy about that. But you're not going to tell me what I should or shouldn't do. Ok? ― Y/N got up from the bench, standing in front of Steve, even though he was still a few inches shorter.
― It could stay away. Observing from afar and only intervening when necessary? ― Steve asked as a last resort.
Y/N looked at Steve, deciding whether to accept the deal or not.
― Ok, whatever. ― Y/N replied, crossing his arms, obviously annoyed.
― I hate to interrupt the couple, but we're ready. ― Sam said.
Y/N opened his backpack and feathers flew out. He put on the aviator jacket that had the cutout on the back for them and each one joined at his back, forming his big pair of wings.
― Wow. ― Scott gasped. ― Wait, are you the news guy?
Ignoring Scott's question and one last look at Steve, Y/N flapped his wings and walked away.
― Sounds like you have competition. ― Clint said to Sam.
Y/N stood at a distance watching the entire battle unfold. How a spider boy appeared stealing Steve's shield and how the two sides appeared one after the other for a confrontation that damaged the entire area.
At times, Y/N almost moved or sent some feathers when it looked like Steve's team was losing, but they always managed to keep fighting. Y/N could see the separation of thoughts in a battle, with Scott and Spider Boy just wanting to show off for Steve and Stark.
To his surprise, Scott grew gigantic and grabbed the other Iron Man by the leg. He was able to stop the advance of Stark's team alone. Until the other Iron Man that had been thrown came back with Spider Boy attached to his back by a web line. Scott was having difficulty and unable to take the anxiety anymore, Y/N left the point he was and went to Scott's direction.
As he approached, Spider-Boy was hanging from Scott's body while the other Iron Man distracted him. Y/N threw a feather that cut Spider Boy's web and got close enough to kick him away using both legs.
― Do they still have one more? ― Y/N heard the other Iron Man speak.
― I deal with him, help the Captain. ― Scott spoke to Y/N who just nodded and went in the direction Steve and Bucky were running.
― I told you to stay away. ― Steve spoke as he ran.
― I do what I… ― Y/N stopped talking when she felt her entire body vibrate and her ears pop.
The other Iron Man fired a Y/N type blast of sound that forced him to cover his ears tightly. Steve threatened to come back to help Y/N.
― No! ― Y/N yelled. ― Go ahead!
Steve continued running alongside Bucky and Y/N used some of the feathers that were already loose, making them hit the other Iron Man's arm. Throwing a few more, Y/N pushed him away, not before he used a propulsion ray on Y/N that threw him to the ground.
Throwing a few more, Y/N pushed him away, not before he used a propulsion ray on Y/N that threw him to the ground. Throwing a few more, Y/N pushed him away, not before he used a propulsion ray on Y/N that threw him to the ground.
Wanda managed to hold onto the tower before falling. But the other Iron Man shot the same sonic blast at Wanda causing her to drop the turret.
Y/N sped up to approach where they were. Sensing something approaching in the air around him, guessing it was the other Iron Man, Y/N released a few of his feathers, just enough to propel Steve and Bucky into the shed before the turret hit the ground. And as he did so, he felt his foot being trapped by the Spider Boy's web and when he was about to let go, he noticed small missiles being launched in his direction, forcing him to protect himself with his wings and being thrown to the ground.
Spider Boy threw more web, pinning Y/N to the ground while he had his wings protecting his body. With more work than he thought he would have, he managed to free himself from the webs. Steve's jet had already left the airport, the two iron men along with Spider Boy were taking Scott down and Vision was beside Wanda, as if he was comforting her.
And when he thought that was over, he noticed Stark and the other Iron Man flying towards Steve's ship. Y/N hurried to fly to try to stop them, Sam was way ahead of him when a laser shot passed close to Y/N was going towards Sam who noticed and managed to dodge it, but hitting the other Iron Man who started to plummet.
Y/N went towards him, trying to send some feathers to try to soften the fall when he was hit by small missiles launched by Stark. The pain was enough to destabilize. Unfortunately, when Stark approached his friend, he had already hit the ground hard.
After managing to regain his balance, he landed next to Stark next to Sam.
― I’m sorry. ― Sam spoke really sadly.
― I could have caught him if you hadn't… ― Y/N was cut off with Stark shooting a propulsion beam towards the two, leaving them unconscious.
When Y/N woke up, he was in some sort of cell. Leather straps were attached to its body, which impeded the movement of its wings, and it wore a technological metal collar, which it assumed was the reason it couldn't control its feathers telepathically. Through the glass of her cell, she could see Wanda in another cell, her arms tied, sitting on the floor.
He felt impotent, he couldn't do anything there and like that. So he just sat on the bed, hugged his legs and accepted his future, hoping that Steve would finish what they started.
A few days passed before he heard someone approaching his cell. He knew it wasn't the guards because it wasn't mealtime.
Y/N looked through the glass of the cell, the man approached and when finally the light entered his face, he could see Steve smiling at Y/N.
― You took too long. ― Y/N said but knowing he was smiling too, happy to see Steve well.
― I had some mishaps along the way. ― Steve spoke ― I hope you have already packed your bags.
― For sure. I already made my review with one star for the terrible room service.

Civil War (Part 1) | Steve Rogers x Hawks Male Reader
Fandom: Marvel
A/N: This would be the movie Civil War, but with the participation of the Hawks reader, which I did in the last post. So I just left the parts that the reader appears and what I think would be important to keep from the movie, but focused only on Steve.
A/N.2: Sorry for any mistakes, but English is not my first language.
Steve Rogers meets Reader: here
Tumblr media
Steve had so many things to think about at that moment. He'd been distracted by hearing his friend's name, which had made him not realize that Brock Rumlow wanted to blow himself up. Wanda tried to protect him but ended up blowing up a building and hurting people. Tony Stark with the Sokovia treaty and now the death of Peggy Carter.
After the funeral, Steve couldn't leave and ended up staying inside the church for a while. Thinking of the few moments he had with Peggy and Sharon's words.
Natasha entered the church and began to walk silently toward Steve.
―  When I came out of the ice, I thought everyone I had known was gone. ― Steve speaks to Natasha while leaning against a church pew. ― Then I found out that she was alive. I was just lucky to have her.
― She had you back, too.
Natasha approached, stopping in front of Steve.
― Who else signed? ― Steve asked.
― Tony. Rhodey. Vision.
― Clint?
― Says he's retired. ― She smiles slightly.
― Wanda?
― TBD. ― Natasha replied. ― I'm off to Vienna for the signing of the Accords. There's plenty of room on the jet.
Steve sighs and bows his head.
― Just because it's the path of least resistance doesn't mean it's the wrong path. ― She says, but she doesn't have an answer. ― Staying together is more important than how we stay together.
― What are we giving up to do it?
She sighs. Steve shakes his head, unconvinced. It didn't seem like the right way to deal with all of this. Why didn't anyone understand this?
― I'm sorry, Nat. I can't sign it.
―  I know. ― She nodded.
― Then what are you doing here?
― I didn't want you to be alone.
Natasha smiled and raised her arms. Steve accepts her hug. He needed it.
―I’m ok. ― Steve spoke.
― Are you sure? ― She asked.
― Yes. I need a break.
Natasha nodded again and came out of the church. Steve looked back at the church cross when he heard a strange noise. Something like the rustle of feathers.
― You disappeared. ― Steve spoke.
― Your friend is harder to follow than I expected ― Steve recognized that voice and was sure he knew who it was in there with him.
The captain looked back, but there was no one. Then he looked up to see Y/N sitting on the second floor ledge. Steve smiled to find the other man there. Y/N gave a slight forward thrust and began to glide until he stopped in front of Steve.
He wouldn't admit it, but he missed Y/N. Every day he was there to say he hadn't found anything, but at some point reports of him started to take longer to come in, until the moment he just stopped showing up. Steve started to think he had just given up.
― When I finally found something, I thought it best not to stop following so I wouldn't lose track again. ― Y/N spokes scratching the back of his head.
― So why did you come back?
― Sam told me about Peggy. ― Y/N put his hands inside the pockets of his aviation coat. ― My condolences.
― It's not for me you have to say it. ― Steve says.
― You still loved her. You told me how special she was to you.
Steve didn't respond. He just lowered his head and sighed.
― I also heard about the Sokovia Accord.
― What do you think? ― Steve asked, looking at Y/N.
― I hated it, of course. ― Y/N answered seriously.
― You don't have to say it because of me. ― Steve smiled to Y/N.
― You overestimate yourself ― Y/N smiled back. ― Anyway, this accord also affects me, after all, I'm one of those "enhanced people".
― So, will you not sign?
Y/N smiled and bowed his head.
― If  I had any decision-making power, I wouldn't sign. ― Y/N looked up again. ― But I can only accept what they do. Even mine would end since I could only act here in the United States.
― Did you find Bucky? ― Steve asked hopefully.
― I'm working on it. But that's not what I came for. ― Y/N rise up his arms. ― You lost someone important. Let's not talk business.
Steve smiled and hugged Y/N. Steve noticed Y/N's wings surrounding him as if they were hugging him too.
Y/N smelled good. Something like lavender mixes with other natural scents. Steve ended up getting carried away by the scent of the other man who didn't notice that the hug was going on for a long time.
Y/N pulled away and put his hands in his pockets again.
― Sorry. ― Y/N spoke nervously.
― It’s ok.
Steve and Sam accompanied Sharon to the hotel. Y/N said that he had just dropped by to see Steve, but that he needed to go work on something else. The three went together to the hotel where Sharon was staying.
― My mom tried to talk me out of enlisting, but, um, not Aunt Peggy. ― Steve was escorting Sharon to the elevator. ― She bought me my first thigh holster.
― Very practical. ― Steve spokes.
― And stylish. ― Sharon and Steve wait by an elevator. They stand facing each other.
Steve thought about his feelings about Sharon, but knew there was something different. His head now kept turning on someone else. But he still couldn't be sure about that.
― CIA has you stationed over here now? ― Steve asked.
― In Berlin, Joint Terrorism Task Force. ― Sharon replied.
― Right. Right. Sounds fun.
― I know, right? ― Steve nods and smiles at Sharon.
― I've been meaning to ask you. When you were spying on me from across the hall . . . .
― You mean when I was doing my job. ― Sharon jokes and Steve laughs
― Did Peggy know?
― She kept so many secrets. I didn't want her to have one from you. ― The elevator arrives. ― Thanks for walking me back.
― Sure. ― Sam comes over.
― Steve. There's something you gotta see.
They went to the same room so Sam could show Steve what he wanted.
“A bomb hidden in a news van . . .”
― Who's coordinating? ― Sharon was talking to someone on the phone.
“ . . . ripped through the UN building in Vienna. More than 70 people have been injured. At least 12 are dead, including Wakanda's King T'Chaka. Officials have released a video of a suspect who they have identified as James Buchanan Barnes, the Winter Soldier. The infamous HYDRA agent, linked to numerous acts of terrorism and political assassinations.”
Steve felt an internal unease. Bucky wouldn't do that, right? He'd run away and wouldn't have gone back to Hydra, right? Something is not right about this.
― I have to go to work. ― Sharon looking at the television.
― She told you to stay out of it? ― Sam asked after Steve talked to Natasha on the phone so she wouldn't see him. The two were wearing caps and sunglasses to hide their identities. ― Might have a point.
― He'd do it for me. ― Steve replied.
― 1945, maybe. ― Sam talks while taking a sip of his coffee. ― I just want to make sure we consider all our options. The people that shoot at you usually wind up shooting at me.
Sharon approached the two, but pretending they weren't talking to them.
― Tips have been pouring in since that footage went public. Everybody thinks the Winter soldier goes to their gym. Most of it's noise. Except for this. ― She slides Steve a file. ― My boss expects a briefing, pretty much now . . . so that's all the head start you're gonna get.
― Thank you.
― And you're gonna have to hurry. We have orders to shoot on sight. ― Steve looks at Sam who has an "I told you so" expression.
The file Sharon gave Steve took him to Bucharest. Sam kept flying to watch overhead, because he knew they were already going after Bucky.
In his dark blue, armored suit with his shield on his arm Steve is in a small apartment. He looks around. He looked around for any sign of his former best friend.
The apartment was small. A bed, apparently, makeshift. The room is separated from the kitchen by a small bench. Several papers, notepads and notebooks scattered on the floor and furniture. Steve could sense that Bucky was there and that if Sharon's information is correct, he'll be back soon.
A notebook on top of the fridge caught Steven's attention, who took it to find out what it was. There were colored post-its on the edges that marked the pages, but he opened it straight to a sheet that contained his image cut out of a magazine or something.
― Heads up, Cap. German Special Forces, approaching from the south. ― Sam says on the radio.
― Understood.
Steve spoke, but realized he was being watched. He didn't know when he had entered, but he knew Bucky was there. Steve slowly turns around to face him.
― Do you know me?
It was the first thing Steve managed to ask. He knew his memory was bad from all the abuse Hydra had done to his head.
― You're Steve. I read about you in a museum. ― Bucky was staring at Steve, but the captain couldn't understand what that look meant. He could see Bucky, but something was still missing.
― They've set the perimeter. ― Sam says on radion again.
― I know you're nervous. And you have plenty of reasons to be. But you're lying. ― Steve spoke, ignoring Sam.
― I wasn't in Vienna. I don't do that anymore. ― Bucky spoke and Steve realized he was being honest.
― They're entering the building. ― Sam again.
― Well, the people who think you did are coming here now. And they're not planning on taking you alive. ― Steve said.
― That's smart. Good strategy. ― Bucky replied.
― They're on the roof. I'm compromised. ― Sam looked worried on the radio.
― This doesn't have end in a fight, Bucky. ― Steve almost begs.
―  It always ends in a fight.
― 5 seconds. ― Sam spoke.
― You pulled me from the river. Why? ― Steve asked.
― I don't know. ― Bucky responds honestly and is clearly confused by his own thoughts and memories.
― Yes, you do. ― Steve replied.
― Breach! Breach! Breach! ―  Sam says when a grenade crashes through the window. Bucky kicks it to Steve, and he smothers it with his shield.
The cop slams the battering ram against the door. Bucky shields himself with the bed against an attack from the window. He blocks the door with a table as cops swing in on cables. Steve pulls the rug from under a policeman, sending him flying. Bucky slams another policeman into the wall.
― Buck, stop! You're gonna kill someone. ― Steve yelled and Bucky slams Steve down, punching a hole in the floor.
― I'm not gonna kill anyone.
Bucky picks up a backpack that was hidden under the apartment's wooden floor and throws it out the window. The two take cover behind Steve's shield, but Bucky pushes him afterward, causing him to hit a soldier who was about to enter through the window.
Bucky shields himself from a police officer's gunfire with his metal arm and slams him into a shelf. He picks up a cement block and hits another cop. While Steve fights another one on the balcony. Bucky hit the cops who tried to get through the door, shooting at the hinges.
A cop descends through a sky-light on a zip wire. Bucky grabs the cop's gun and slams him into the wall. Bucky bashes a couple of cops with the battering ram. More of the police team hurry up the stairwell. Bucky jumps on the zip-line-guy and swings down a level.
Steve grabs the radio of a police officer who had been wounded by Bucky and crushes it. Steve jumps down a level as Bucky keeps punching the cops. Bucky tosses one of them over the railing and Steve catches him, stopping the cop from falling. He looks at Bucky wearily.
― Come on, man. ― Steve complained.
After fighting and passing more police, Bucky jumps off one of the building's balconies, landing on the next building where he'd dropped his backpack. But while trying to flee, a man dressed in a black cat costume attacks him. The man stretches out his fingers and extremely sharp claws appear. Bucky added one more person to his list of people who wanted him dead.
Bucky tried to fight him, but the man in black was very skilled in combat. And when he was knocked to the ground, he had to pick up an iron bar to protect himself from him.
― Sam, southwest rooftop. ― Steve said on the radio.
― Who the hell's the other guy? ― Sam asked while moving in the air.
― About to find out. ― Steve jerked back and started running so he could jump to the other building like Bucky had done.
A helicopter appeared and started shooting at Bucky and the man in black who stopped what he was doing to look at the vehicle. Bullets ricochet as they hit the man in black, as if he were wearing full armor.
― Sam! ― Steve spoke.
― Got him. ― Sam spoke but as he approached the helicopter, he noticed the man who was shooting being thrown out of the helicopter and being hit hard enough to knock him unconscious into the roof wall of another building.
Anyway, Sam kicked the back of the helicopter to push the vehicle away.
― Did you see it? ― Sam asked, but he didn't get an answer.
Bucky breaks free from his attacker, slings his bag on his back, runs and jumps down a level. Black Panther slides down the wall using his claws for traction. Back lands at street level and the chase continues. Steve follows and lands rolling along the ground. Gunfire from the chopper tears up the sidewalk. Bucky jumps down through an opening and lands in an underpass, he runs through the traffic. The masked man and Captain America drop down and chase after Bucky. A Special Forces Vehicle pursues them.
― Stand down! Stand down! ― The voice spoke on the car speaker.
Steve threw himself in front of the car, causing it to stop. The driver stops, Steve yanks him from the vehicle and kicks the windshield out, then drives off.
Steve managed to overtake the masked man and because of that, he jumped into the car, holding on to the back.
Steve managed to overtake the masked man and because of that, he jumped into the car, holding on to the back. Captain America tried to rock the car to get the man to let go, but he didn't look the least bit shaken.
― Sam, I can't shake this guy. ― Steve complained
Steve saw small black figures appear around the car and hit the masked man. But he just climbed into the car to protect himself better. Also, he heard something else climb into the car.
― Sam, are you on the roof of the car? ― Steve asked.
― No. ― Sam responds by approaching the car.
Steve could hear two people moving on the ceiling, very careful not to fall. When Sam found the car, he saw the masked man fighting a man he knew well, mainly for the two black wings.
― Y/N! ― Sam shouted.
Steve couldn't help but smile knowing that Y/N was there. The masked man tried to hit him as he was hampered by the black feathers that were flying individually. Until he finally managed to advance with his claws, but Y/N protected himself with one of his wings. The masked man looked confused that he couldn't even scratch those feathers. What are they made of?
Meanwhile, Bucky managed to catch a motorcycle that was moving and Steve needed to accelerate the car even more. But when Bucky came out of the tunnel, he dropped a bomb that caused the passage to begin to be covered in rubble.
Sam manages to get through the rubble, but the Masked Man manages to divert Y/N's attention and jumps on Sam's leg. Y/N flies through the rubble as the Masked Man jumps, causing Bucky to fall off the bike.
Y/N flies through the rubble. Bucky throws the bike towards Sam and the masked man. But the bike just hit the car where Steve was who just got out and started running towards them.
They were surrounded by police who pointed guns at them all. They just raised their hands, showing that they surrendered. Sam and Y/N landed next to them and mimicked the gesture. Even the War Machine landed there, pointing the triggers at them.
― Stand down, now. ― Rhodes says.
― Congratulations, Cap. You're a criminal. ― Bucky says when Steve put the shield on his back. The masked man takes off his helmet, revealing himself to be Prince T'Challa. Steve and Rhodes look curious.
― Your highness. ― Rhodes says to T’Challa.
Berlin, day. Traffic rolls around the victory column. Police convoy drives beside the river Spree. Amidst the convoy is a gray armed truck. Inside Bucky wears restraints inside a prison pod. Three armed guards sit on the other side of the glass-walled pod. A police motorbike stops traffic and a van driver looks affronted. The convoy turns a corner onto a bridge across the river. In an SUV T'Challa sits in front of Steve who sits in front of Sam.
― So, you like cats? ― Sam asked T'Challa.
― Sam. ― Steve spoke, reproving Sam.
― What? Dude shows up dressed like a cat and you don't wanna know more?
― Your suit . . . It's Vibranium? ― Steve asked.
― The Black Panther has been the protector of Wakanda for generations. A mantle, passed from warrior to warrior. And now, because your friend murdered my father, I also wear the mantle of king. So, I ask you . . . as both warrior and king . . . how long do you think you can keep your friend safe from me? ― T'Challa speaks, causing the vehicle to go into an eerie silence. ― What are your wings made of? ― T’Challa asked Y/N.
― I don't know. They are just born that way. ― Y/N replied.
― Why don't you complain to him? ― Sam complains.
Steve looked at Sam and Y/N stuck his tongue out at Sam like a kid. Sam looked at the winged man in disbelief.
In a light gray walled bunker Bucky's pod is carried away by a forklift. Nearby Steve gets out of the SUV and glances across at Bucky who doesn't spot him. With Sam and T'Challa Steve approaches Sharon who's standing with a diminutive, gray-head man.
― What's gonna happen to him? ― Steve asked.
― Same thing that ought to happen to you. Psychological evaluation and extradition. ― The gray-head man replied.
― This is Everett Ross, Deputy Task Force Commander. ― Sharon introduced
― What about our lawyer? ― Steve questioned.
― Lawyer? That's funny. See their weapons are placed in lockup. Oh, we'll write you a receipt. ― Ross replied.
― I better not look out the window and see anybody flying around in that. ― Sam spoke when he saw them charge to his wings.
They went into a hallway with windows in the walls, letting the light in perfectly.
― You'll be provided with an office instead of a cell. Now, do me a favor, stay in it? ― Ross said.
― I don't intend on going anywhere. ― T’Challa replied.
― For the record, this is what making things worse looks like. ― Natasha told Steve.
― He's alive. ― Steve answered.
― No. ― Tony was talking on the phone. ― Romania was not Accords-sanctioned. And, Colonel Rhodes is supervising cleanup.
― Try not to break anything while we fix this. ― Natasha says with a smile.
― Consequences? You bet there'll be consequences. Obviously you can quote me on that 'cause I just said it. Anything else? Thank you, sir. ― Tony hangs up the phone.
― 'Consequences'? ― Steve asked.
― Secretary Ross wants you both prosecuted. Had to give him something. ― Tony explained.
― I'm not getting that shield back, am I? ― Steve asked.
― Technically, it's the government's property. ― Natasha replied. ― Wings, too.
― That's cold. ― Sam spoke.
― Warmer than jail. ― Tony says.
Tony approached Y/N and analyzed his wings.
― Can you take them out? ― He asked.
― No. Sorry. ― Y/N replied with a smile.
― Have you tried?
― He already replied can't take it off. ― Steve stood between Tony and Y/N.
Tony walked away from the two and Steve turned to Y/N. Sam also backed away a bit.
― Thanks for coming. ― Steve says and Y/N smiles.
― I was close. ― Y/N spoke and put his hands inside his coat pocket. ― I said I was working on Bucky's location.
― How long have you known where he was? ― Steve asked seriously, which made Y/N lower his head.
― It has a few days. ― Y/N replied.
― Why didn't you tell me? ― Steve asked, letting his voice rise a little.
― I wanted to make sure he didn't hurt anyone. I wanted to make sure he didn't hurt you. ― Y/N replied with a little irritation.
Steve looked surprised by the younger man's response. He didn't expect that answer when he asked about his motives.
Steve was taken to a glass-walled office overlooking the control room. From there he could look at a big screen that showed the holding cell where Bucky had been placed. Bucky looked calm, as if he'd already given up on fighting and just wanted to pay for it.
‒ Hey, you wanna see something cool? ‒ Tony enters the office carrying a small black box in his hand. ‒ I pulled something from Dad's archives. Felt timely. ‒ Tony shows him two pens in a black presentation box. ‒ FDR signed the Lend-Lease bill with these in 1941. Provided support to the Allies when they needed it most.
‒ Some would say it brought our country closer to war. ‒ Steve responded.
‒ See? If not for these, you wouldn't be here. I'm trying to… What do you call it?  ‒ Tony sits in a chair and faces Steve. ‒ That's an olive branch. Is that what you call it?
‒ Is Pepper here? I didn't see her. ‒ Steve looks around as if expecting to find the woman there.
‒ We're kinda . . . well, not kinda . . . ‒ Tony looked down, wondering how to say that.
‒ Pregnant?
‒ No. Definitely not. ‒ Tony looks relieved to answer that. ‒ We're taking a break. It's nobody's fault. ‒ Tony looks at Steve again.
‒ I'm so sorry, Tony. I didn't know. ‒ Steve was really sorry he'd even brought it up.
‒ A few years ago, I almost lost her, so I trashed all my suits. Then, we had to mop up HYDRA . . . and then Ultron. My fault. ‒ Tony lowered his gaze again. ‒ And then, and then, and then, I never stopped. Because the truth is I don't wanna stop. ‒ Tony looks at Steve. ‒ I don't wanna lose her. I thought maybe the Accords could split the difference. ‒ Tony gets up from his chair, facing away from Steve. ‒ In her defense, I'm a handful. Yet, Dad was a pain in the ass, but he and Mom always made it work.
‒ I'm glad Howard got married. I only knew him when he was young and single.
‒ Oh, really? You two knew each other? ‒ Tony turns to Steve feigning surprise. ‒ He never mentioned that. Maybe only a thousand times. ‒ Tony puts on his jacket that he used to carry on his arm. ‒ God, I hated you.
‒ I don't mean to make things difficult.
‒ I know, because you're a very polite person. ‒ Tony paces around the room as Steve follows, swiveling his chair.
‒ If I see a situation pointed south.  I can't ignore it. Sometimes I wish I could.
‒ No, you don't. ‒ Steve looks down and smiles.
‒ No, I don't. Sometimes . . .
‒ Sometimes I wanna punch you in your perfect teeth. ‒ Tony interrupts. ‒  But I don't wanna see you gone. We need you, Cap. So far, nothing's happened that can't be undone, if you sign. We can make the last 24 hours legit. Barnes gets transferred to an American psych-center instead of a Wakandan prison.
Steve takes one of the pens from the box Tony left open on the table and stands up. He really wanted to be able to help and be on his team's side, on his team's side. But it didn't seem like the right thing to do.
‒ I'm not saying it's impossible, but there would have to be safeguards.
‒ Sure. Once we put out the PR fire, those documents can be amended. ‒ Tony goes back to sit where Steve was before. ‒  I'd file a motion to have you and Wanda reinstated…
‒ Wanda? What about Wanda? ‒ Steve asked.
‒ She's fine. She's confined to the compound, currently. Vision's keeping her company.
‒ Oh God, Tony! Every time. Every time I think you see things the right way…
‒ What? It's a 100 acres with a lap pool. It's got a screening room. There's worse ways to protect people.
‒ Protection? Is that how you see this? This is protection? It's an internment, Tony.
‒ She's not a US citizen. ‒ Tony raises his voice, as if to prove his point.
‒ Oh, come on, Tony.
‒ And they don't grant visas to weapons of mass destruction.
‒ She's a kid! ‒ Steve screams.
‒ GIVE ME A BREAK! ‒ Tony yells back. ‒  I'm doing what has to be done, to stave off something worse. ‒ Steve nods in disbelief at Tony's attitude.
‒ You keep telling yourself that. ‒ He puts the pen down. ‒ Hate to break up the set. ‒ Steve leaves the office leaving Tony alone with his thoughts.
Sam and Y/N were taken to another office, similar to the one Tony was with Steve.
‒ Are your wings stronger than the Captain's shield? ‒ Sam asked Y/N.
‒ I don’t know. Why?
‒ The prince of cats' suit is made of vibranium, just like the captain's shield, and his wings hold back his blows.
‒ What do you want me to say, I don't know, Wilson. ‒ He responds and his wings flutter a little.
‒ How do you manage to sit in the chair?
‒ Wilson…
Y/N stopped what he was going to say when Steve walked into the office. He had his back to the two seated as he stared at a screen that showed Bucky.
‒ You heard, didn't you? ‒ Steve asked.
‒ I wish I could say no. ‒ Y/N replied.
‒ It’s ok.
‒ What are you going to do now? ‒ Sam asked.
‒ I don’t know.
Sharon enters the office with a folder of documents in her hand.
‒ The receipt for your gear. ‒ She hands the folder to Sam.
‒ 'Bird costume'? Come on. ‒ Sam speaks indignantly.
‒ I didn't write it. ‒ Sharon looked at Steve, intent on Bucky's screen.
She looked around and pressed a button on the phone on the living room table, causing the camera's sound to unblock.
‒ I'm not here to judge you. I just want to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are, James? I can't help you if you don't talk to me, James. ‒ A man was trying to get Bucky to talk.
‒ My name is Bucky. ‒ Bucky responds a little stressed.
The sound was muted after a while and Steve began to analyze the photo from the day of the explosion at the congress in Vienna.
‒ Why would the Task Force release this photo to begin with? ‒ Steve asked.
‒ Get the word out, involve as many eyes as we can? ‒ Sharon had as many answers as Steve.
‒ Right. It's a good way to flush a guy out of hiding. Set off a bomb, get your picture taken. Get seven billion people looking for the Winter Soldier.
‒ You're saying someone framed him to find him.
‒ Steve, we looked for the guy for two years and found nothing.
‒ But, you found him. ‒ Steve speaks, looking at Y/N.
Sharon and Sam look at Y/N in surprise. Y/N tries to hide his discomfort from the stares, but the little restless movement of one of his wings could have given him away.
‒ How? ‒ Sam asked.
‒ I have a lot of contacts and I can fly very fast. Did the information just... get to me? ‒ Y/N responds a little nervous.
‒ How did this information arrive? ‒ Steve asked.
‒ I can't talk about my sources, at least not here. When I heard about the explosion, I was confused because I was following Bucky and there was no way he could have slipped out of my sight for a few seconds, gone to Vienna and blown up the congress. ‒ Y/N responds, standing up.
‒ The explosion wasn't supposed to make him come out of hiding. But rather to go after him. ‒ Sharon talks while looking at Steve.
As if something has snapped in Steve's head, he looks back. Notice the man who was talking to Bucky and it looked like some pieces were falling into place.
Then suddenly, the light in the entire building goes out. No, the entire city's light had gone out. Or had it been cut?
‒ Sub-level 5, east wing.
The four ran out of the office, heading over to where Sharon had spoken. Sharon had to part ways with the four of them, but they continued on without her.
When they got to the wing Bucky was supposed to be in, the emergency light was flashing and security was slumped to the ground.
‒  Help me. Help. ‒ The man, whom Steve recognized from the screen he was watching from the office, was groaning on the floor.
Steve lifted the man and pressed him against the wall with a little violence.
‒ Who are you? What do you want? ‒ Steve was almost shouting.
‒ To see an empire fall. ‒ The man responded.
As soon as Sam entered the room, Bucky tried to arm-iron him, but he dodged.Sam tried to fight Bucky, but ended up getting knocked to the ground.Y/N fast-forwarded. Bucky turned his arm toward the man who blocked it with one of his wings. He pushed Bucky away by opening the wing he used for defense.
Steve held Bucky and Y/N came over to help.
‒ No. ‒ Steve yelled. ‒ Help Sam.
Y/N went to Sam as Steve and Bucky started to fight. Y/N started to lightly slap Sam's face to wake him up.
Steve and Bucky's fight ends when the Winter Soldier throws him through the elevator door, causing Captain America to fall down the floors.
Sam starts to wake up when Y/N looks around, noticing that the man Steve was going after was gone. Sam looked in the direction of the elevator Steve had been thrown into and found the man there.
‒ Hey! ‒ Sam yelled.
The man started to run. Y/N helped Sam to his feet and the two went after the man.
‒ Help the Captain. I go after him. ‒ Sam spoke and resumed running.
‒ I am not your support. ‒ Y/N yelled but was ignored.
Y/N looked through the broken elevator door. Steve got to his feet.
‒ All right, handsome? ‒ Y/N asks.
Steve takes off his jacket and looks up. Y/N felt something stir inside him from watching Steve let his arms show.
‒ Yeah! ‒ Steve answers. ‒ Go after them.
‒ Could you two stop bossing me around? ‒ Y/N speaks, crossing his arms.
Steve ignored the man and started up the iron ropes of the elevator. Y/N watched Steve start to straighten up and rolled his eyes.
He dropped some feathers from his wings and used them to propel the Captain's body upwards. But as if it would help him to climb faster than to make him fly up there.
‒ I told you to go after them. ‒ Steve spoke when he got to the floor Y/N was on.
They were standing very close to each other.
‒ And I don't take orders from you. ‒ Y/N replied.
They looked at each other for a second. The closeness seemed to create a gravitational field between the two that wanted to bring the two men closer and closer.
Steve let his body get a little closer when Y/N spoke.
‒ We cannot waste time.
‒ Of course. Do not wait for me. ‒ Steve spoke and Y/N nodded.
Y/N spread his wings and flew as fast as he could between the stairs and corridors. On the ground floor, people were fleeing from inside the building. Y/N could tell that there had been a fight there, until he found Sam running out of the building.
Sam picked something up off the floor and looked up.
‒ Damn it. ‒ He spoke to himself and started looking around.
Y/N lands next to Sam, causing some people to start running from him, not just from the mess in the building.
‒ They disappeared. ‒ Sam spoke.
Y/N began to move his wings slowly so he could listen as far as he could to find something that indicated where the man and the Winter Soldier were. He didn't remember when he discovered that his wings could make him hear farther according to the vibration of the air that beat his feathers. He just learned to control it.
‒ On the roof. ‒ Y/N spoke and started to fly.
Bucky went to the helipad on the roof and got into the helicopter so he could escape. But just as the helicopter has started to leave the ground, Steve appears running and holds onto one of the helicopter's skis.
Bucky began to force the helicopter causing Steve to slide to the edge of the building. Steve continued to hold the helicopter and the other arm held an iron on the helipad.
Y/N sent some feathers to push the helicopter back to the helipad. It landed on top of the big 'H' and sent most of its wing feathers to join the others. Steve was screaming in pain. The helicopter was too heavy, but he could hear it start to whistle.
Bucky threw the helicopter towards Steve. Y/N used some feathers to bring Steve back up to the base. But the helicopter began to spin, causing the two to dodge the tail.
Steve got to his feet and Bucky's iron arm went through the glass of the helicopter, holding onto the captain's neck. Y/N would help when he noticed the helicopter starting to fall off the building.
He sent all his feathers out to try to keep the vehicle balanced, but it wasn't enough. The helicopter went down, with Bucky holding Steve's neck, making him go along to the river, next to the building.
Steve managed to pull himself up to the surface, with Bucky unconscious in his arms. Y/N looked at the two of them in the water as their feathers reshaped their wings. He would go after the two but thought of something else to help.
Steve, with Sam's help, took Bucky to an abandoned shed. They attached the metal arm to an industrial magnet to keep it still. Steve stayed at the gate, watching to make sure they weren't being followed.
‒ Hey, Cap! ‒ Sam called Steve who ran to where he was.
Bucky had woken up and tried to lift his body a little, but his trapped arm was preventing him.
‒ Steve. ‒ Bucky spoke up when he saw his old best friend.
‒ Which Bucky am I talking to? ‒ Steve asked worriedly.
‒ Your mom's name was Sarah. You used to wear newspapers in your shoes. ‒ Bucky smiled at the memory.
‒ Can't read that in a museum. ‒ Steve spoke, letting himself relax.
‒ Just like that, we're supposed to be cool? ‒ Sam asked.
‒ What did I do? ‒ Bucky asked.
‒ Enough. ‒ Steve replied.
‒ Oh, God, I knew this would happen. ‒ Bucky looked down. ‒ Everything HYDRA put inside me is still there. All he had to do was say the goddamn words.
‒ Who was he? ‒ Steve asked.
‒ I don't know. ‒ Bucky replied.
‒ People are dead. The bombing, the setup. The doctor did all that just to get 10 minutes with you. I need you to do better than "I don't know."
‒  He wanted to know about Siberia. ‒ Bucky spoke, struggling to remember. ‒ Where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where.
‒ Why would he need to know that?
‒ Because I'm not the only Winter Soldier.
Bucky once told how he was sent to steal samples of a scientist's super serum. On how Hydra used the superserum to try to make other super soldiers obedient like him. Steve let go of Bucky's arm when he realized he wasn't going to try to kill them.
‒ Who were they? ‒ Steve asked.
‒ Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in HYDRA history. And that was before the serum.
‒ They all turn out like you? ‒ Sam asked.c
‒ Worse.
‒ The doctor, could he control them?
‒ Enough.
‒ Said he wanted to see an empire fall.
‒ With these guys he could do it. They speak 30 languages, can hide in plain sight, infiltrate, assassinate, destabilize, They can take a whole country down in one night. You'd never see them coming. ‒ Sam approached Steve.
‒ This would have been a lot easier a week ago.
‒ If we call Tony . . .
‒ No, he won't believe us. ‒ Sam interrupted
‒ Even if he did . . .
‒ Who knows if the Accords would let him help.
‒ We're on our own.
‒ Maybe not. I know a guy.
Steve smiled when he remembered that Sam had said the same thing when he introduced Y/N to him.
‒ Other guy. ‒ Sam spoke when he noticed the captain's smile.
They got in touch with Sharon and she told them to go to an underpass. They managed to get a car and parked it where Sharon had told them to. But she wasn't there. Steve waited outside the car until Sharon appeared.
‒ Sharon told you to use a getaway car. ‒ He heard a voice, followed by the flapping of wings behind Steve.
‒ It's low profile. ‒ Steve answered without turning around.
Y/N landed in front of the captain. He carried a large bag at his side.
‒ Good, because this stuff tends to draw a crowd. ‒ Y/N placed the bag on the floor and opened it, revealing Sam's wings and Steve's shield.
‒ I owe Sharon one more.
‒ She knows. ‒ Y/N replied smiling. ‒ She is hiding. They go after her for giving me the shield and the wings.
‒ I feel guilty about that. ‒ Steve looked at Y/N.
‒ Don't feel guilty about doing what you think is right. ‒ Y/N spoke, approaching the Captain. Steve smiled upon hearing the other man's response. Y/N smiled back, feeling good about cheering the Captain up. Steve held Y/N's face and kissed him. Y/N brought his hand up to Steve's shoulder, bringing the Captain's body closer to his.
‒ Thank you, Y/N. ‒ Steve spoke as they walked away.
‒ You’re welcome. ‒ Y/N replied smiling.

Ever since Steve found out that Bucky, his best friend, was still alive, he couldn't think of anything else. He didn't know if he just wanted his best friend alive or because seeing him being used by Hydra made him so uncomfortable.
Sam Wilson promised he wanted to help him find Bucky but as they expected it wouldn't be easy.
― I know someone who can help us. ― Said Sam one day when he was eating at a diner.
― Why didn't you speak before? ― Steve asked, wiping his mouth after taking a bite of the hamburger.
― He's a difficult person to contact. ― He replied, drinking some of the soda.
― Have you spoken to him yet? ― Steve asked a little excitedly.
― Calm down, he won't talk about this with anyone. ― Sam said, sounding very relaxed.
― How can he help? ―  Steve asked, leaning back in his chair.
― You will see. ― Sam said with a smile.
Steve and Sam had to go to the roof of a tall building. Steve was worried about the other man's request, but Sam seemed calm about it. He had told Steve that he had met this man because the two of them worked together. Sam said they flew together.
Which made Steve wonder if he also had wings like Sam's.
— Where is he? ― Steve asked when he saw it was just the two of them on the roof.
― He should be arriving by now. ― Sam said and approached the edge of the roof.
― I'm already here, Wilson. ― They heard a male voice behind them.
A man was standing above where the door was to go back inside a building, wearing an aviation jacket and sunglasses. But when Steve looked right, he noticed two large black wings flapping against the man's back that kept him a good few inches off the ground.
― It's been a long time, L/N! ― Sam said, smiling at the flying man.
― Should you be Steve or do you prefer Captain America? ― The man approached Steve, still keeping off the ground.
― Are they real? ― Steve asked, focused on the two black wings flapping.
― What? ― The man asked, confused, but seemed to remember that he wasn't stepping on the floor. ― Yes, they are. ― He replied with a smile.
― That's the Y/N. ― Sam said approaching Steve.
And so for the first time at that moment, Y/N touched the ground like a normal person. Maybe even he could look like a normal person if it weren't for the wings on his back.
― I'm a mutant. ― Y/N said, putting his hands in his coat pockets. ― A human with special genes that give me special abilities. In my case, Wings.
― Is your power having wings? ― Steve asked.
― Yes and no. It goes further than that. ― Y/N replied smiling.
― Y/N was one of our best trackers. He flew fast, saw far and wide, and could hear and feel other people through walls. ― Sam said a little excitedly.
― Can you do this? ― Steve asked a little curiously.
― Of course, my captain. ― Y/N said in a joking tone.
Y/N started helping Steve and Sam search for Bucky. The man disappeared early in the morning and returned late at night. He'd gotten leads on Bucky's whereabouts, but nothing on James himself.
Steve went alone so he could walk a little. He went to a mall as if he was going to find Bucky walking around at any moment, but his subconscious told him he just needed a break.
― Are you okay? ― Y/N asked, scaring Steve a little.
― When did you get here? ― Steve asked in surprise.
― I saw you coming in here and it looked desolate. ― Y/N replied.
Steve noticed that Y/N always had a similar tone in his voice, something like good humor and lightheartedness. He was strange for someone who had served in the army and was still an agent type.
Looking closer, Steve missed something behind Y/N. In place of wings, Y/N carried a backpack slung over one shoulder. And instead of the aviation jacket, he wore another coat.
― I thought the wings were real. ― Steve said going to sit on a bench in the mall and being accompanied by Y/N
― But they are. ― Y/N said laughing.
Y/N opened his backpack and showed it to Steve. Inside were thousands of dark feathers. Steve looked confused at Y/N and quickly grabbed one of the feathers. He pinched the quill a little and rubbed his finger. Y/N grimaced slightly and took the quill out of Steve's hand.
― They're sensitive. I can feel and control each of the feathers, so they are still attached to my body. ― Y/N explained putting the quill back in the backpack and zipping it up.
― They look tougher than a normal feather. ― Steve said laughing at Y/N's reaction.
― And they are. The scientists at the barracks said they are as resistant as adamantium.
Steve kept thinking about Y/N's wings and the way he looked happy and calm when he was away from the ground. Now, looking like a normal human, he looked a little more serious. He still maintained his fun vibe, but he looked unhappy at the same time.
― Do you like to fly? ― Steve asked to bring up a topic.
― Think that I have to like it. ― Y/N said laughing. ― I'm passionate about flying. But I think the wings influenced me for that.
― Since when do you have them?
― As long as I can remember. They told me that I was born with bones in my back, especially in the area around my shoulders, different from the average person. At first, they just thought I had a disability until the feathers started to grow. ― Y/N said without a smile on his face. ― My parents didn't like it at all and I ran away from home. I started to hide the wings with coats and big shirts until they reached sizes that kept me from hiding. So I learned that I could make the feathers come loose and still manage to get them back into place.
― So that's why you're walking around with your backpack when you don't have your wings? ― Steve asked and the man nodded.
― It's easier. ― Y/N replied, smiling again.
The two stared at each other for a while. The image of Y/N flying in front of the Sun, making him look like some sort of angel, came to Steve's mind and made him feel his face flush a little. Y/N cocked her head to the side.
― You're turning red. ― Y/N said and Steve turned away.
Steve was going to reply, but Y/N turned away quickly as if something had caught his eye. He got up and started to run. Steve started following Y/N wanting to know what he was doing.
They got close to the escalators when they heard people screaming on the second floor.
― What's up? ― Steve asked, reaching for Y/N.
― A robbery. ― Y/N said following with his eyes,  two men carrying a large bag running. ― They're armed.
Steve ran to the escalator and ran up, while some people complained about his haste. Arriving on the second floor, he began to run to catch up with the men.
When they realized that Captain America was behind them, they aimed their gun so they could shoot. People screamed as he walked away and Steve jumped behind a pillar.
― Are you afraid, America? ― One of the men spoke up.
Steve tried to look at the men behind the pillar, but when his face appeared, the man fired in his direction, causing him to go back into hiding.
Suddenly, he heard the men cry out in the complaint. When Steve looked their way carefully, he noticed five black feathers around them. They had hit the guns and cut the handle of the bag, causing it to fall to the floor.
― Where did these things come from? ― They are hitting the air as if trying to ward off flies, while the feathers stay around them.
Steve looked over the edge of the second floor and found Y/N still in the same spot, but now the backpack was open and hanging from his hand. Also, some feathers were still sticking out of it. Steve smiled at the other man who returned the gesture.
The men began to run, leaving their weapons and bag on the floor. A man tried to stop them, but the robber pushed him over the edge of the railing. People screamed and more feathers came out of Y/N's backpack. Some got into the man's clothes and others just got under his body causing him to slowly start to fall like a sheet of paper. As soon as his feet touched the ground, the feathers moved away from him and went to where the men were trying to flee.
― Thanks. ― The man spoke and Y/N nodded.
Many feathers began to fly around the men until they pushed them over the edge of the banister. They screamed in fear, but the feathers caught them before they hit the ground.
Y/N took off his coat, revealing two small tufts of feathers on his back through the two holes in his shirt. The feathers that held the men and the ones that were in the backpack flew towards the Y/N until they formed the two large wings that Steve already knew well.
People were looking at him in surprise. Some with disgust and strangeness, but most fascinating.
― The police have arrived and you are not going to run away. ― Y/N spoke and some feathers came out of his wings and came back carrying the men's bag under it.
Y/N opened the bag seeing several jewels and gold in it. Probably from the jewelry store he had inside the mall.
― Are you seriously trying to rob a store at the mall? ― Y/N asked, laughing at the men.
They tried to get up, but feathers flew quickly towards them, showing them a sharp point.
― They won't hurt me. ― One of the men spoke, staring at a feather that was aimed directly at his face.
― Will they not? ― Y/N stretched his left wing to the wall and some feathers flew to the wall, pinning them to the wall as if he had shot them with a gun.
The two thugs looked scared at the wall and remained still until the police entered the mall. Some people started cheering for Y/N which surprised him.
― People like heroes. ― Steve spoke beside him.
― For someone as old as you, you don't seem to know anything about the world. ― Y/N was serious.
As the officers approached the men, Y/N brought his feathers back into his wings. He left off the ground with a flutter of wings, but Steve held his hand.
― I want to fly with you one day. ― Steve said with a smile and Y/N noticed that he was a little red.
Y/N smiled and nodded in agreement.
― Just let me know when. ― Y/N spoke and Steve released him.
Y/N fast flight to the mall exit, disappearing into the sky.
― Was he with you, Captain? ― One of the cops asked as he approached Steve.
― Will be. ― Steve said looking at where Y/N had flown.
Y/N always liked to work in silence and not helping people was easier. He helped people in front of an audience for the first time. During the week, newspapers, magazines, and the internet were talking about the flying man at the mall. Some haters and the others adore them.
Y/N was following what people were saying, but what made him smile was when he watched the news that night.
“No one has any news about the flying man from the mall. Nobody knows who he is. But despite all the mystery about this man, he is already winning over many fans who are now calling him the Hawks.
Will the Hawks be a new hero? Is he with the Avengers? Will we ever see him again?”

Patient Alive | Matt Murdock x Male Reader
Fandom: Marvel
Pairing: Matt Murdock x Male Reader
Summary: Y/N finds a injured man and decides to help him, but that choice could lead to something dangerous.
A/N: I must do other parts of this story. Not going to be direct continuation, but still being sequels.
A/N.2: Sorry for any mistakes, but English is not my first language.
TW: Blood and injuries.
Tumblr media
It was cold that night, cold enough for Y/N to cross his arms in front of his even in his coat. The backpack had few things, but perhaps due to fatigue, it seemed to be heavier than usual.
He always found it strange to be cold, especially when he spent the day with all those bodies. Some might find it odd that he worked with autopsies, but he enjoyed being a doctor and helping the police.
He entered the building he lived in, heading straight for the mailboxes to pick up his mail. Accounts and advertisements, as usual. Although he had friends, he didn't go out much and liked to be alone. But the truth is, he was a little afraid of how people saw him.
He entered the elevator with an elderly woman carrying grocery bags. She lived on the floor above Y/N's apartment and I knew she loved to talk. This time he was distracted with the bills in hand and ended up not noticing the elderly woman entering the elevator.
― Good Morning! ― She said with a big sympathetic smile.
― Good Morning. ― Y/N replied politely.
Y/N was mentally hoping that the conversation would end with these words. But to his horror, that's not what happened.
— It was very cold today. ― The old woman spoke still with that smile.
― I didn't notice. He was busy at work. ― He replied trying not to look at the woman, looking like he was reading something very interesting in that unnecessarily colorful advertisement during his correspondence.
― Oh, right… ― The old woman replied, moving a little away from Y/N.
She knew that Y/N was a medical examiner, but she'd forgotten about that for a moment. Y/N was used to people noting his choice to work with dead people over the living, but he couldn't pretend he wasn't a little offended.
Noticing the silence, Y/N glanced from side to side and noticed the elderly woman struggling not to bring up the subject with him. She acted like Y/N had an extremely contagious disease, just from knowing about her job and Y/N was pretty sure if she knew he only dated men, he would have desperately pressed the button to stop that iron box.
When the doors on his floor opened, Y/N walked out without looking at the old woman. He took his keys from his pocket and entered his apartment.
He lived alone and didn't have any boyfriends, even though he'd already tried. He didn't bother with men who didn't like his work, but with those who were attracted to him. People could be weird, but Y/N tried hard not to judge anyone.
He left his backpack on the couch and went to the fridge. He didn't have much, he hadn't gone to the market yet. He grabbed a bottle of water and decided to order a pizza.
He was watching television while waiting for the pizza when he noticed something pass his window as if it had fallen, and soon after, a noise of something being thrown in the dumpster next to the building.
Y/N stared at the window, not moving from the couch. He looked back at the television, completely ignoring what it might have been. A few minutes later, he heard his intercom ring.
Y/N was surprised since it hadn't been long since he ordered the pizza.
He took the money he'd left on the table and went to tell the delivery man he was on his way down to get his pizza.
― Y/N? ― Y/N broke off when he recognized the voice.
He was your neighbor's son. The boy was 14 years old or so and lived in the apartment across from him.
― Yeah? What happened? ― Y/N asked, strangely the boy calling him.
― Meet me here in the foyer, quick. ― He spoke and turned off the intercom.
Y/N stared at the intercom in her ear, deciding whether to go down or not. He looked at the couch where he was sitting and decided that he would find the boy, at least it would be a distraction.
He grabbed the coat he'd tossed over his backpack and went down in the elevator. When the doors opened, the young man was standing in front of the elevator and soon pulled Y/N without any warning.
― What are you doing? ― Y/N asked, almost tripping on the foyer rug.
― He needs help. ― The boy said, looking quickly at Y/N.
― He? ― Y/N asked, but was ignored. ― He who? ― No answers again.
The boy took Y/N out of the building to the Dumpster on the side of the building. Y/N remembered the shadow that had passed quickly by his window and the noise he had heard.
― It's in there. ― The boy stopped in front of the dumpster.
Y/N looked at the young man and approached the place the boy wanted him to see.
He had to climb a part of the bucket to be able to see inside.
Y/N had to hold on tighter when he saw the man inside. He was dressed completely in black, with a mask that covered half his face.
― Do you know him? ― Y/N asked the boy and he replied, shaking his head in the negative. ― Help me here.
Y/N got into the bucket and struggled to lift the man's body. With great difficulty, the two managed to take away the man inside the garbage.
They were going to put him down, but the boy convinced Y/N to take him inside the building. Y/N mentally begged for no one to show up and luckily they managed to get to his apartment without being seen.
They placed the body of the man lying on the floor. Y/N got up and closed the apartment door they left open.
― He is alive? ― The boy asked, looking fearfully at the body.
Y/N approached and took the man's wrist. He placed his index and middle fingers on his wrist, just below the base of his thumb. He felt his heartbeat and breathed a sigh of relief.
― It is. ― He replied to the young man who seemed to be calmer.
Y/N looked more closely at the man, his black clothes were completely stained with blood and he could see some cuts in the fabric. When he looked at his own body, he noticed his clothes smeared with blood. He looked at the neighbor and he also noticed the blood and his eyes widened.
― Go home and take a shower. Better bring your clothes over here later. I wash for you. ― The boy nodded and ran home.
Y/N looked again at the man bleeding on his floor. He went to his room taking a bag of his medicines and basic instruments for injuries. Plus a damp towel.
He had to lift the man's torso again and take off his shirt. The blood made the fabric cling at times, and he felt his body shudder a little, probably reacting to the cut.
With the towel, he began to clean around the wounds to lessen the amount of blood. Then with the gauze moistened with medicine, he began to clean closer to the wounds and carefully pass them. He stayed a while so he could tend to the wounds so they wouldn't flare up later, but he knew it would leave scars.
They were cut from a very sharp blade, like a kind of military knife. As some of his skin stopped turning red, purplish lesions appeared.
It looked like he had gotten into some fight, but his opponent had a melee weapon while he had clean hands.
He took the man's hand and removed his gloves. He only confirmed a bit of his theory as his knuckles were purple and callused, like a boxer.
― What were you doing? ― He asked himself since the man was still unconscious.
Y/N opened the suture needle pack and took a 4-0 suture thread and began to close the blade cut in the abdomen area.
Y/N couldn't tell if it was luck or the man who managed to deflect the attack, but the wound didn't hit any major organs or veins. Even so, he would need to rest before getting into another fight.
After finishing the work, he analyzed the man's body to make sure he could let him rest. He looked at his face which was still covered by the mask.
Y/N took the fabric away from his eyes. He went to his backpack and picked up the pen with the eye flashlight. He opened one of the man's eyelids and shined the light into his eye.
If his pupil had reacted, Y/N didn't notice. Either this man wasn't alive or he was blind. Y/N prefers to bet on the second option.
The intercom rings, causing Y/N to jump slightly in the same spot. He got up from the floor and answered.
― Pizza for the Y/N L/N? ― The delivery man spoke.
― I'm already down. ―  He said turning off the device.
He took one last look at the body lying on his floor and headed for the door. But when he gripped the doorknob he remembered the coat he was still wearing but smeared with blood.
Y/N took off his coat and threw it on the floor, next to the man, and left very nervous. He thought the delivery man would find out that perhaps he had covered up a crime by carrying an injured man into his house. He hadn't thought of that.
What if he was a criminal? A killer?
Y/N wouldn't be able to defend herself if he accepted. He felt his body sweating cold and the temperature in the hall seemed higher than he remembered.
Y/N handed over the money and thanked them for the pizza. The delivery man found the way he acted strangely, but he didn't ask. Y/N nervously returned to his apartment. He stopped in front of his door, hoping it had all been a hallucination and his room was empty.
Y/N opened the door but to his dismay, the man was still lying shirtless on his floor. He closed the door quickly and placed the pizza box on the table.
He lowered himself to the man's side again. He placed two fingers on the man's neck to make sure he was alive.
His pulse was still normal. Y/N couldn't tell if that would be good or bad.
But he snapped out of his thoughts when his stomach remembered that he was hungry. He got up and turned to the table so he could open the pizza box.
The scent filled her nostrils and made her stomach growl louder and harder. Y/N couldn't stop the smile that formed at the thought of eating.
― Is that pizza? ― Y/N heard a voice behind him.
Y/N screamed and quickly turned around. The man had opened his eyes, but he was still lying down. Y/N froze, watching the man staring at the ceiling.
- Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. He said with a sly smile.
― I'm not used to taking care of the living. ― Y/N replied quickly.
Y/N managed to relax a bit. The man raised his torso, grimacing, probably because of some pain.
― Like this? ― He asked, putting his hand over the sutured cut.
― I'm a medical examiner. And keep lying down. ― Y/N spoke and pressed the man's shoulder to make him lie down.
He grabbed Y/N's wrist and looked at him. But Y/N noticed that despite that, his eyes weren't focusing and weren't looking at Y/N, just whatever was in front of him. So he confirmed that the man was blind.
— But if I lie down, how am I going to eat? ― He asked, smiling again.
Y/N raised an eyebrow.
― And who said it's for you? ― Y/N asked, a little annoyed.
― I thought you were a doctor. Doctors take care of their patients.
― My patients usually don't have any heartbeats or pulses.
The man smiled but stopped, bringing his hands to his face.
― You saw my face. ― He said releasing the doctor.
― What's the problem? ― Y/N asked but was ignored.
The man tried to get up, but Y/N managed to keep him in place.
― Don't move like that. It will open the wound again. ― Y/N was serious.
— Sorry, doctor. ― The man spoke in a joking tone.
— Y/N.
― What?
―  Mine is Y/N. But call me Dr. L/N ― Y/N spoke in the same joking tone.
The man smiled but didn't speak his name as Y/N expected.
Y/N helped him to get up and sit at the table. Y/N took a napkin and gave the man a slice of pizza.
― Thanks.
Y/N took a slice for himself and bit into it with satisfaction. A silence settled between the two. Y/N couldn't look away from the man's body. It didn't matter too much, as he wouldn't have noticed that he was being stared at by the coroner.
― Who are you? ― Y/N asked looking at the man who was focused on the pizza.
― It doesn't matter. ― He responded by biting into another piece.
― Of course, it matters. I've tended to your wounds and I'm going to need to clean your blood off the floor. ― Y/N said annoyed.
― You'd better pretend you didn't see me.
― Sorry, but it won't be possible.
The man stopped suddenly. He turned his face a little.
― Are you listening to me? ― Y/N asked but he raised his hand in silence. ― I won't be silent, I want to… ―  The man covered Y/N's mouth which pissed him off more.
― Damn it! ― The man got up from the table and went to the apartment's front door.
― What's it? ― Y/N asked with a little fear.
― They found me. ― The man replied. — The elevator is going up. It's just a man.
― How do you know that? ― Y/N asked but was ignored. ― And you're wanted by the police?
― It's certainly not the police. ― He replied with a smile. ― Pretend you didn't see me. ― The man spoke and leaned against the wall behind the door.
A few seconds later, Y/N heard someone knocking on the door. Y/N looked at the man on the wall but got a little frustrated remembering that he couldn't see his facial expression.
Y/N went to the door and opened it a little so that only his head was seen by the man in the hallway.
― Can I help you? ― Y/N asked, trying to hide his nervousness.
― Good night, sir...
— Doctor. ― Y/N cut in.
― Okay, I'm sorry. Good night, doctor. ― The man corrected and Y/N nodded. ― Have you by any chance seen a man dressed in black around?
― No, I didn't.
― Could we look at your residence? We think he might be hiding. ― The man spoke.
― Sorry but no. I think I would know if someone was hiding in my house. ― Y/N replied with a smile.
― I think you did not understand. ― The man showed the gun at his waist.
Y/N looked at the weapon and felt her body tingle. Then he looked back at the man. Y/N smiled at the man and opened the door carefully so as not to let the injured man be seen by the gunman.
But as soon as the man entered the place, the one who was hiding attacked him. The gunman tried to pull the weapon out, but when he realized his body was already spinning in the air and falling hard to the ground.
Y/N walked away scared, afraid that he would be the next to be attacked. But the night invader only landed a blow that knocked the gunman unconscious.
― Are you okay? ― The night invader asked, looking slightly worried.
― Am I okay? This man is armed. ― He spoke too loudly.
The intruder just closed the apartment door and stopped in front of the coroner who was scared and breathing heavily. The invader grabbed both of the man's arms.
― Take a deep breath. ― He spoke a little low. ― With me. Inspire. Expires.
Y/N complied, feeling his body relax a little as he looked into the invader's eyes.
— Matt. ― He spoke when Y/N was calm.
― Which? ― Y/N asked, confused.
― Call me Matt Murdock.
― Now I don't know if I want to know your name. ― Y/N said, looking down. But soon realized it was a bad idea.
The invader, who he now knows was called Matt, was still shirtless, showing off his lean body.
― You need to know the name of your only patient alive. ― He said smiling and went to look for his shirt.
Y/N would question how Matt walked right up to his shirt as if he knew exactly where he was. But Y/N had focused on what Matt had said.
― What do you mean by “only patient alive”? ― Y/N asked.
― I need a doctor when I go on patrol. ― Matt replied, putting on his shirt and going to the mask.
― I'm not going to be your private doctor. ― Y/N said, letting his voice get louder.
Matt smiled like Y/N had told some joke.
― I think you'll want to see me again. ― Matt said, going over to the man lying on the floor. ― Especially after leaving my belly burning with your gaze. I could almost see you looking below the direction of my face, but I'm blind. ― He laughed at his joke.
Y/N might find it funny, but he was too embarrassed to laugh. His face began to burn with nervousness.
― H-How did you p-realize? ― Y/N asked nervously.
― I didn't realize, I was just kidding. But good to know I'm right. ― He said, starting to lift that man off the ground.
― Shut up! ― Y/N said annoyed but with a red face. ― And you're in no state to carry a man.
Matt just smiled at Y/N.
— Until next time, Dr. L/N.

Always Together | Bucky Barnes x Male Reader
Tumblr media
Fandom: Marvel
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Black Male Reader
Summary: Bucky Barnes meets someone who makes him question his memories. Meanwhile, Bucky falls in love with someone in the 1940s. But the two people are interconnected.
A/N: The name of the Y/N in 2023 is different from the Y/N in 1940. That is why I separated it as Y/N-2023 and Y/N-1940.
A/N.2: Sorry for any mistakes, but English is not my first language.
TW: Suicide, homophobia, racism, and a little violence
...
2023
Bucky was wandering around the city. Ever since Steve died and the Avengers split up, he felt no motivation for anything. And the nightmares about his past as the Invernal Soldier kept tormenting him every time he closed his eyes.
He knew that his therapy sessions should be helping, but maybe they would only have an effect if he tried some of the things the doctor talked about. Maybe he didn't want to let it go; his nightmares could keep him alert.
He walked into a random coffee shop to order a cup of coffee, his sleepless nights were starting to affect his body.
He placed his order at the counter and sat down at an empty table to wait for his coffee to be ready. He began to look around at the people around him, none of them seemed concerned about all the trouble that Blip had caused, or about Captain America's death.
Bucky was still uncomfortable with Sam's decision about Steve's shield to turn it over to the government. He should have kept it, just as his best friend had asked.
Barnes snapped out of his thoughts as he laid his eyes on a table near one of the windows in the place.
A boy was sitting there, concentrating on something on his computer while a glass of one of those iced coffees made Bucky feel even more old-fashioned. But what caught James' attention the most was his appearance. His dark skin and curly hair, even the way he bit his mouth while concentrating. Bucky felt as if he knew that boy from somewhere.
Bucky's order had been ready and he went to get it, but when he turned around again, the boy was putting his notebook away to leave. Bucky wished he had tried to talk to him, but he didn't know what to say either. "Hi, do I know you?" or "It's been a long time, remember me?" No, that would be horrible.
1940
The bar was packed as usual. The employees there already knew the boy from all the times he had been there. This bar was the closest to the army barracks in the town, so the soldiers were always there during the night too.
All of them tried to flirt with girls, thinking they were the best things in the world just because they were soldiers. But at the end of the night, the girls would charge for attention.
(Y/N - 1940) ordered his usual drink at the bar and turned to look at the people dancing on the dance floor. Most of the men were disheveled, but they went out of their way to try to get the girls into their beds. "Idiots" thought (Y/N - 1940) with amusement.
 - (Y/N - 1940). - A friend he had at the bar found him there. - I was looking for you. You've had some soldiers looking at me since they arrived, dance with me for a while, please.
(Y/N - 1940) had made friends with many of the girls who frequented the bar and they often asked him to dance with them to keep the assholes away. He had also slept with a few, but nothing sentimental on either side.
The man took a sip from the glass the bartender poured for him and led his friend to the dance floor. And so they began to dance and have fun.
- Are they watching? - (Y/N - 1940) asked the woman, who glanced disguisedly over her shoulder.
- Yes," she made a slightly disgusted expression.
(Y/N - 1940) spun her around and lifted her body to the ground after which they both laughed.
- But there's a handsome guy among those troglodytes in uniform. - She said, looking at the soldiers who were already shifting their attention.
- So go ask him to dance. - She said, feeling a few drops of sweat falling from her forehead.
- I'd ask him, but he's not looking at me. - She said, grinning suggestively at her friend.
With one more turn, they switched places so that (Y/N - 1940) was facing the soldiers.
When the man thought to ask which soldier, he realized that he didn't need to. A single soldier at the table was not involved in the conversations. (Y/N - 1940) noticed the blue eyes directed exactly at him. At first, he thought it was something in his head, but the soldier gave a smile to (Y/N - 1940) who returned the gesture.
- I need a drink. - (Y/N - 1940) said, leaving his friend on the dance floor and returning to the bar.
(Y/N - 1940) had already had suggestive conversations with other men and a few times it went beyond the conversation. But none of them were soldiers. He orders another drink and stands with his back to the dance floor.
- Do you only dance with the girls or do some guys get that lucky too? - A male voice came from behind (Y/N - 1940).
The soldier who was watching the boy on the dance floor leaned against the counter beside him.
- That depends on what I get out of it. - (Y/N - 1940) looked quickly at the soldier's uniform. - Mr. Barnes.
- James. James Bucky Barnes. - He replied, standing a little closer to (Y/N - 1940). - I can offer you a drink and some...pleasant conversation. - James looked around. They both knew that men who had relationships with other men, even if not always, were not well regarded. And they could be killed by being obvious in public.
- I think you're going to have to do more than that, James. - (Y/N - 1940) replied, smiling at Bucky.
- And what can I do for you? - Bucky asked, smiling back.
- (Y/N - 1940). - (Y/N - 1940) held out his hand. - (Y/N - 1940) Moore.
2023
Bucky couldn't get that boy out of his thoughts. He felt like he remembered him from somewhere but couldn't remember where exactly. HYDRA had messed with his memories and left a lot of things messed up and meaningless.
He told the doctor about the boy and she advised Bucky to talk to him. In case they didn't know each other he could be a new friend, but about this, he doubted very much.
The other week, Bucky went to the coffee shop at the same time. He ordered a coffee and looked around.
Just like the other week, the boy was sitting at the same table, concentrating on his computer. Bucky stared at the boy for a while as he gathered the courage to talk to him.
He took a deep breath and walked over to him. Bucky's order was ready, but now he was in front of the man's desk. The seated boy raised his eyes curiously.
- I think that's your order. - The man spoke shyly.
- Oh... right. True. - Bucky scratched the back of his neck nervously. Why did he feel this way about someone he didn't even know?
- Can I help you? - The boy asks when he realizes that Bucky has just stood there staring at you.
- No. No. - Bucky turned to go to the counter to get his coffee. - Do I know you from somewhere? - Bucky turned his attention back to the man.
- I guess ... no. - He answered confused.
- Oh, sorry. - Bucky walked away from him and took quick steps to his coffee shop.
The boy followed Bucky's movements with his eyes.
- Wait. - The boy had stood up.
The people around him started to stare at him, which made him feel embarrassed. Bucky decided to go to him, perhaps even to lessen his embarrassment.
- We have never met before, but I have the feeling that I have seen you somewhere before. I am (Y/N - 2023) Wood.
1940
(Y/N - 1940) began to meet Bucky quite often at the bar. He spent the day working and looked forward to coming home at night to meet the soldier.
Bucky introduced a short, thin friend. His name was Steve, a very good man who was proud to be part of the soldiers, even though he suffered more than the others.
One day, Bucky and (Y/N - 1940) went out into the city. Bucky took the other man to the movies and they watched Scandalous Wedding, a romantic comedy. Although the biggest concern is the war, art is still growing.
(Y/N - 1940) didn't pay much attention to the movie, but he wouldn't say that to Bucky. At one point in the film, he brought his hand a little closer to Bucky. When their pinkies touched, (Y/N - 1940) paused for a moment to get the soldier's reaction.
He kept looking at the screen, but (Y/N - 1940) got the impression he was smiling a little and it wasn't for the movie.
Bucky looked quickly at (Y/N - 1940) and placed his hand over his, squeezing gently.
When the movie ended, the two of them released their hands and got to their feet to get out of there.
- Next time we go to see a movie, try to look at the screen more. - Bucky said as we walked down the street.
- So there will be a next time? - (Y/N - 1940) asked in a playful tone.
- I thought I made that obvious. - Bucky answered, smiling at (Y/N - 1940).
They walked to a snack bar so they could get something to eat.
- The usual Tom? - The waiter asked with a smile when he saw (Y/N - 1940) coming in.
- I don't know, I have to think about it yet, John. - (Y/N - 1940) replied with the same friendly smile.
Bucky and (Y/N - 1940) sat down at a table by the window, facing each other.
- Do you know the whole city? - Bucky asked, since every time they entered an establishment or even walked down the street, someone greeted (Y/N - 1940).
- My father is a barber and people talk in the barbershop. - (Y/N - 1940) answered by fiddling with the salt shaker on the table.
Bucky noticed that (Y/N - 1940) never stood completely still. He was always playing with his fingers, swinging his leg, or fiddling with whatever was near him. But that never bothered Bucky. In addition, Bucky had also noticed that he was always looking around, always worried.
- And you? - Bucky asked.
- I what? - (Y/N - 1940) began to rotate the salt shaker in the same place.
- What do you work with?
- Oh, nothing much. - He answered without looking at Bucky.
Silence.
(Y/N - 1940) always seemed to shy away from very personal questions and this made Bucky more curious about the man in front of him.
- You look worried and nervous. - Bucky said worriedly.
- You wouldn't understand. - (Y/N - 1940) replied nervously.
- Give it a try. - Bucky comforted.
- I'd better go. - (Y/N - 1940) stood up.
Bucky grabbed (Y/N - 1940)'s wrist and (Y/N - 1940) pulled hard, looking startled at Bucky. (Y/N - 1940) looked around and Bucky noticed some people looking worried and even scared at the two of them.
- See you another day, James. - (Y/N - 1940) spoke up and left the diner.
The waiter who was an acquaintance of (Y/N - 1940)'s stared a little angrily at Bucky, but he just continued his work.
2023
Bucky went to the cafeteria early so that he could have more time to talk with (Y/N - 2023). The other week, he had to leave soon.
He arrived earlier than the boy and sat at the table that he always sat at. After a good few minutes, he finally arrives at the coffee shop.
He places his order and turns to the table that Bucky was at. When he realizes that the table is occupied, he gives Bucky a nice smile and goes to sit with him.
- I feel that you are following me. - (Y/N - 2023) says, taking the computer from his backpack.
- No. It's just a coincidence of time. - Bucky says, hiding his nervousness.
- Of course. Coincidence. - (Y/N - 2023) smiles, which makes Bucky give a sneaky smile.
Bucky remained silent while the boy organized himself with the computer and a notebook beside him.
- So, James. What do you do for a living? - (Y/N - 2023) asks after he set the computer to turn on.
Bucky took a deep breath. "I was a soldier from the last century who was brainwashed by the Nazis." I don't think that's going to work out.
- I... work on my own. - Bucky takes a sip of his coffee.
- Got it. - He turned his attention back to the computer.
- What are you doing? - Bucky asks so that the two are not silent.
- Catching up on college work. Then I go to my internship. - (Y/N - 2023) answers with a smile.
- You... - Bucky never really knew how to talk other than for missions. - Are you always busy?
- More or less. I like to keep busy. - (Y/N - 2023) said without looking at Bucky.
- You don't have time for... friends or... you know. - Bucky spoke uncertainly.
- Is this an attempt to ask me out? - (Y/N - 2023) looked up with an amused expression that made Bucky wriggle restlessly in his chair.
- N-No," Bucky said nervously and (Y/N - 2023) seemed to become more serious. - Yes, maybe?
(Y/N - 2023) smiled at Bucky who felt better about the situation.
1940
(Y/N - 1940) had not visited the bar since the day of the cafeteria. He didn't want to admit it, but he was avoiding meeting the soldier.
Bucky would never notice, but (Y/N - 1940) felt the weight of the stares of having a person of color talking to a white man.
He was walking home after work, holding back the urge to hang out at the bar with his friends, mostly employees.
He felt two pairs of eyes following him on the street. (Y/N - 1940) knew he had been followed since he left the factory.
- I know you. - One of the men caught up to (Y/N - 1940) and started walking beside the man who was walking home, keeping a certain distance.
- He is the guy who is always at that bar with the dancers. - The other man spoke from the other side of (Y/N - 1940).
(Y/N - 1940) just ignored them. He was tired, his face and hair sooty and even his light blouse had black factory marks on it, and only one side of his suspenders hung over his shoulder and the other dangling from his leg.
- I have also seen him talking to Barnes. - The man on the right spoke up. (Y/N - 1940) glanced over and noticed that they were wearing army uniforms.
- Barnes likes to make nice. Remember Rogers who is always with him too? - The other man spoke, and they both laughed.
(Y/N - 1940) kept going but decided that if he got home and the two men were still following him, he wouldn't go inside so that they wouldn't know where he lived.
- Aren't you going to say anything? - The man on the left pushed (Y/N - 1940) hard enough to knock him to the ground.
(Y/N - 1940) continued to say nothing, just getting up to move forward. But before he could stand up, he was kicked back to the ground.
(Y/N - 1940) could hear the laughter and the comments, but he knew that if he said or did anything it could be worse for him. So he could only endure in silence.
- Stand back! - (Y/N - 1940) heard a familiar voice as he felt the second kick in his stomach.
- There's Barnes. Is he here to help your charity project? - One of the men spoke with a laugh.
(Y/N - 1940) kept his face to the ground. Ashamed to look at Bucky.
- I told him to back off. - Bucky punched the man closest to (Y/N - 1940) in the face.
The second man punched Bucky and the three of them got into a fight. Bucky punches and kicks, getting hit a few times. Until the two soldiers ran out of there.
(Y/N - 1940) stood up and remained with his back to Bucky.
- You didn't have to help me. - (Y/N - 1940) stood up and walked back to the house. Bucky followed and started walking beside him. (Y/N - 1940) still hadn't looked him in the face.
- They're assholes, they deserved it. You didn't do anything, did you? - Bucky spoke a little breathlessly.
- Thanks anyway. See you later. - (Y/N - 1940) said, going up a metal staircase to enter his apartment.
- Hold on. - Bucky held (Y/N - 1940) and turned him towards himself. - What happened? Why are you avoiding me?
(Y/N - 1940) took his first look at Bucky. He had blood dripping from the side of his face, a bruise that was already turning purple on his cheek, and a cut on his mouth.
- We can't go on with this. - (Y/N - 1940) spoke seriously.
- Why not? - Bucky asked with a mixture of concern and confusion. - He doesn't care about them.
- It's not only them. It's everyone. - (Y/N - 1940) raised his voice a little, but soon calmed down. - In the cafeteria and the movie theater, everyone kept staring at us. People find it unacceptable for a black person to interact in any way with a white person.
Bucky brought his hand to (Y/N - 1940)'s cheek. He noticed the black soot stains all over (Y/N - 1940)'s face and smiled gently.
Barnes brought his face closer to (Y/N - 1940) who at first flinched a little. But on a second attempt, he brought his lip together with the other man.
(Y/N - 1940) tasted the slight taste of blood from the cut on Bucky's mouth but didn't care.
2023
Bucky woke up in the middle of the night as he usually did, but this time it was not a nightmare. James dreamed that he was in 1940 and that he had saved (Y/N - 2023) from two soldiers.
But he didn't feel like it was a dream, it was more like a memory. It was so real and vivid, but his memories were still hazy.
He stood up to get a glass of water from his minibar.
"Was (Y/N - 2023) having the same dreams?" The answer was no. However, when (Y/N - 2023) was with Bucky he had little flashes of unlived memories.
Bucky always kept remembering this bar that he went to during his time as a soldier. "I wonder if the place still exists? And if so, could I get any information?".
1940
(Y/N - 1940) sent Bucky into his apartment.
- Have a seat and I'll be right back. - (Y/N - 1940) spoke up, pointing to the small sofa in his living room.
The place was small and cramped, but to (Y/N - 1940) it was perfect. A living room with a kitchen, no dining table, a bathroom, and a bedroom with a single bed and a chest of drawers. Although small, it was extremely clean and organized, nothing seemed out of place. Bucky sat on the couch and watched (Y/N - 1940) disappear into his room.
A few minutes later, he returns with a first aid box in hand. (Y/N - 1940) sits down next to Bucky and begins to sort through what he will use. Gauze, bandages, and a little pot.
- Is it going to sting? - Bucky asks, looking at (Y/N - 1940)'s hand as he puts some of the liquid into a gauze.
- You're a soldier and you're afraid of a little medicine, James? - (Y/N - 1940) mocks Bucky who continues to follow the gauze with his eyes. - Yes. Just a little bit.
(Y/N - 1940) holds Bucky's face and begins to clean the wound on the side of his face.
- It's superficial. It won't even leave a mark. - (Y/N - 1940) says, analyzing the area.
He wipes the wound and with another gauze, he wipes the blood that drips down the side of Bucky's face. Meanwhile, James keeps analyzing (Y/N - 1940). His dark focused eyes, the way he kept biting his lower lip because he was concentrating, his skin illuminated by the light of the room. To Bucky, (Y/N - 1940) was perfect.
(Y/N - 1940) had loosened the suspender from his shoulder and now his shirt was sticking out of his pants. Bucky lifted (Y/N - 1940)'s shirt slightly and noticed the red mark turning purple from the kicks.
- Does it hurt? - Bucky asked worriedly.
- Don't worry about me. This is not the first time that white men have beaten me for no reason. - (Y/N - 1940) spoke those words so calmly that they startled Bucky.
- Does this always happen to you?
- No. But it is more common than you can imagine. Unfortunately, the world is like that. - He says with a wry smile.
- You should talk to the police. - (Y/N - 1940) remains silent.
Bucky would never understand what (Y/N - 1940) was experiencing. On the one hand, (Y/N - 1940) was happy about this, but on the other hand, he also felt out of place.
- There. - (Y/N - 1940) said, finishing the work by putting a bandage in place. - Later you can take it off. - (Y/N - 1940) now looked into Bucky's eyes. - What's wrong?
- You're gorgeous. - Bucky speaks with his gaze shifting between his eyes and his mouth.
(Y/N - 1940) says nothing but is surprised by the statement. Bucky kisses (Y/N - 1940) again so that he can break the silence that has settled in the place.
This time, (Y/N - 1940) doesn't pull back. The kiss was slow and tender. (Y/N - 1940) brought his hand to Bucky's neck and pulled him closer, while Bucky held (Y/N - 1940)' waist.
The two separated and looked at each other, their faces still close together. Their breaths mingled but no words were spoken. But they didn't feel they needed to say anything. The silence was comfortable as if only their gazes could keep the conversation going.
- I'm going to take a shower. Then you will if you like. - (Y/N - 1940) spoke softly.
- Can I sleep here?
- Are you sure about that?
- I've never been more sure. - Bucky replied, leaving another quick kiss on (Y/N - 1940)'s lips.
2023
The other day, Bucky went to the bar. He had to dig deep into his memory and with a little help from Google, he discovered that the place still existed.
The facade of the place was completely redesigned, much more modern and up-to-date than he remembered. After all, it had been 83 years since he had been there.
Bucky entered the bar and just like the outside, inside it was darker than it had been with speakers, a modern bar with glass and colored lights. There were two men and a woman cleaning things up, getting ready to open.
- Sorry, we are closed. Come back later. - The man who was closest to Bucky spoke up, stepping in front of him.
- I want to talk to the owner. - Bucky answered quickly. He didn't want a fight, but if he had to, he would.
- I don't think you understand, sir. We are closed. - The man spoke in a slightly higher voice.
- Can you call, or call, whatever, the owner. - Bucky now closed his vibranium fist, ready to hit the man.
- Stop them both. - A woman spoke up, appearing there, followed by another man. - Get back to work, August. Sir, I'm going to have to ask you to... - She stopped talking as soon as she looked at Bucky.
The woman was black, in her sixties, her hair curled into a neat black.
- I've seen you, sir. - She speaks, analyzing Bucky. - Come with me.
The woman goes to the other side of the bar and enters through a door, followed by her security guard and Bucky. They pass through a slightly dark corridor and go to the end of the room.
The last room should be her office. At least, she seemed to own the place.
- When my mother retired, she passed this place on to me. - The woman began to speak as she walked to a closet on one of the walls. - My mother said that when she was younger and the place belonged to my grandfather, she loved to come here to dance and she said she had a best friend who was always there with her.
- Sorry to interrupt, ma'am. But I... I'm in a hurry. - Bucky spoke up, but the woman seemed to ignore it.
She took a box from inside the closet and placed it on the table that separated the two of them.
- My mother tells me a story about this friend, saying that the world was not yet ready for him. - She began to go through the files and documents inside the box. Bucky saw that on top of the box was written "1940-1949". - Because besides him being black, he was... as some young people say, not straight.
Bucky remained silent, letting the woman complete her line of reasoning.
- This friend of my mother's had fallen in love with a white soldier at the time, but obviously, they couldn't tell anyone. - She slowed down the search.
Bucky started to get restless and looked at the man leaning against the door behind him. The man didn't show any reaction, almost as if he wasn't listening to the whole conversation.
- I found it. - The woman spoke, taking a folder from inside the box. Inside were more papers and many black and white photos. She looked through the pictures until she stopped at one. She held it in front of her face and then put it on the table in front of Bucky. - You look just like that soldier. - She pointed to one of the men in the picture.
It was a picture of the bar, the way Bucky remembered it. There were some people he vaguely remembered. But three people caught his attention. One was himself in the photo, Bucky was holding a glass in his soldier's uniform. Next to him was a woman he remembered from his dreams and who bore a certain resemblance to the woman in front of him. The woman in the photo was hugging a man, it was (Y/N - 2023), the college man that Bucky had been talking to.
"How is that possible?" Bucky thought. Was (Y/N - 2023) also a man out of his time just like Bucky or was it something else?
1940
After taking a shower, Bucky went into (Y/N - 1940)'s room with only a towel wrapped around his waist, since (Y/N - 1940)'s clothes did not fit him.
When (Y/N - 1940) turned around to find the other only wearing a towel, he had to turn his face away to hide the embarrassment he felt at the moment.
- You can get anything from my dresser. - (Y/N - 1940) said from the back.
- None of your clothes will fit me. - Bucky said, stepping closer to (Y/N - 1940), without (Y/N - 1940) noticing.
- I guess it's okay to be tight. - (Y/N - 1940) was very nervous and the image couldn't get out of his head right now.
Everything became worse when he felt two arms around his body and Bucky's breath on his ear.
- I guess it's okay for me to be undressed. - Bucky whispered in (Y/N - 1940)'s ear, causing him to shiver.
- I-I don't think it's a problem at all. - (Y/N - 1940) was completely nervous and his face was burning with embarrassment.
Bucky began kissing (Y/N - 1940) on the neck and sometimes taking light bites. (Y/N - 1940) turned to Bucky and looked straight into his eyes. A few drops from the shower were still dripping from his hair and running down his body.
(Y/N - 1940) was breathing heavily and his hands seemed to be starting to sweat.
Bucky held (Y/N - 1940)'s waist, bringing his body closer to his own, and the other man crossed his arms around his neck. Their faces became closer and closer until finally, they started a kiss. A kiss that showed concern and affection, but also desires for each other.
(Y/N - 1940) took off his shirt, throwing it somewhere in the room. He pulled Bucky onto the bed. It was James' first time with another man, but the same could not be said for (Y/N - 1940).
(Y/N - 1940) moved his body on Bucky's lap, as he felt pleasure inside every time their thighs touched. James' strong hands held (Y/N - 1940)' ass, supporting his movements. All accompanied by kisses and caresses. The room was completely dominated by moans and gasps. It was their moment, and nothing was going to change it.
- Could we ever walk down the street together, even as friends? - (Y/N - 1940) asked, feeling Bucky's chest rise and fall.
Bucky was lying on the single bed in (Y/N - 1940)'s room and the master of the house was lying on his chest, while James was petting his head.
- Maybe the world will be a better place after the war. - Bucky replied, putting his free arm under his head.
- And if not? - (Y/N - 1940) asked, and Bucky could feel the concern in his voice.
- I'm with you, (Y/N - 1940). - Bucky spoke sincerely. - I won't let anything hurt you.
- Thank you, James.
(Y/N - 1940) never spoke Bucky, he always called him James. But for some reason, for Barnes, the way his name 'James' sounded in (Y/N - 1940)'s voice was completely different.
2023
The woman didn't let Bucky take the portrait with him. But he took a picture with his cell phone. He stopped at the coffee shop, ordered a coffee, and sat down at the table with the picture open on his cell phone.
Looking at the photo, Bucky could remember a special event that was taking place in the bar. It was because of this event that there was a photographer in the establishment. He remembered (Y/N - 2023) being there, but he remembered calling him by another name.
- Hi. - (Y/N - 2023) sits down on the other side of the table already arranging his things on top.
- Hi. - Bucky closes his cell phone and raises his head.
- Working? He seemed focused. - (Y/N - 2023) says, smiling. Bucky likes how (Y/N - 2023) never asks too many questions. It made things a little easier.
Bucky stared at (Y/N - 2023) for a while. His mind kept racing with flashes of (Y/N - 2023) wearing clothes from the '40s and using another name, but he couldn't remember any more than that.
- Is your name (Y/N - 2023)?
- As far as I remember, yes," (Y/N - 2023) replies, laughing. - At least it is the name on my identity card and birth certificate.
- Right. Sorry. - Bucky straightens his posture in his chair.
- Why? (Y/N - 2023) asks curiously but concentrates on his computer.
Bucky was in a mental discussion for a long time about whether or not he should talk to (Y/N - 2023) about the dreams and the photo. But he remembered that if he did talk about it, he would have to tell him that he is a soldier from World War II, and he would also have to tell him how and why he stayed alive for so long.
- I have been having strange dreams. - (Y/N - 2023) finally speaks up when he doesn't get an answer. - You must find it very bizarre, but you are in these dreams.
- Really? - Bucky sees a thread of hope to discover the truth.
- Yes. It is 1940, during the Second World War. You are a soldier and I am just a civilian, but my name is... (Y/N - 1940) or something like that. - He speaks and keeps laughing at your madness.
"(Y/N - 1940)!" Bucky's mind snapped the moment he heard the name. The (Y/N - 2023) of the pictures, his memories, and his dreams is named (Y/N - 1940). "But (Y/N - 2023) doesn't seem to believe that (Y/N - 1940) existed. I wonder if it's not something HYDRA did with my head." Bucky thought to himself. "But why (Y/N - 2023)? Does he work for HYDRA?"
Bucky lingered with that thought. Should he test the theory or just put it aside.
(Y/N - 2023) changed the subject and started talking about something that happened at his college. Normally Bucky would pay attention, but now he had too many thoughts in his head.
- Hail, Hydra. - Bucky whispered but loud enough for (Y/N - 1940) to hear.
- What? - (Y/N - 2023) looked truly confused.
- Hail, Hydra. - Bucky spoke a little louder.
- Sorry, I don't... know what you're talking about. - (Y/N - 2023) spoke very confusedly.
- Sorry, I was just thinking out loud. - Bucky replied.
- Ah... ok. - (Y/N - 2023) said looking worried.
"I think it's just something in my head."
1940
Many months had passed. Steve had already taken the super serum and was now Captain America. Bucky was always with him on missions, but when he came home he tried to stay with (Y/N - 1940) as much as he could, besides of course all the nights of sex they had.
Bucky had gone out on a mission and obviously, (Y/N - 1940) couldn't know what it was. (Y/N - 1940) heard that the team was coming back today and so he went to the bar after work so he could meet Bucky there.
He sat in the bar, saw several soldiers coming in, many of them drinking and dancing with the girls, but no sign of Barnes. Then a soldier approached (Y/N - 1940).
- There is someone from the army who wants to talk to you in the alley next to the bar. - The man seemed to speak to (Y/N - 1940) against his will.
(Y/N - 1940) didn't know whether to believe him or not. It could just be a way for them to surround him on the street and beat him up. He took his drink at once and went over to find out if it was true.
He preferred to look on the bright side and think that it was Bucky wanting to surprise him or something. But the moment he stepped into the alley he recognized the figure standing there, but he was just confused.
It was Steve, alone, in the dark. He didn't have a good expression for someone who had just returned from a successful mission. Bucky had introduced (Y/N - 1940) to Steve, after all, they were best friends and so he knew about the "relationship" that Bucky and (Y/N - 1940) had.
- Steve? Why are you alone in an alley? - (Y/N - 1940) asked as he approached.
- When you are known as Captain America you don't have the luxury of talking to someone in private. - He answered trying to keep his voice positive, but (Y/N - 1940) noticed.
- What happened? Where's Bucky? - When (Y/N - 1940) spoke James' name, Steve seemed to close his expression more.
- He...he...- Steve seemed to have an internal struggle. - He's gone.
Those words hit (Y/N - 1940) hard. He felt as if a trap door had opened beneath him and now he was falling into an eternal void.
- We were on a train. But we were caught in an ambush and Bucky... he fell. The fall was too big and you couldn't see the end. I can still see his eyes reaching for my hand, but... I'm sorry. - Steve said, looking down.
- Don't be. He was your best friend. I know you tried to help him. - (Y/N - 1940) looked down as well, trying not to cry in front of Steve.
Steve hugged (Y/N - 1940), but he remained still. No reaction at all.
"I'm with you, (Y/N - 1940)." That was what was repeating in (Y/N - 1940)' head when he heard the news. But there could still be hope. (Y/N - 1940) was not going to give up so easily.
2023
(Y/N - 1940) Moore. Bucky could remember him now. He could remember his moments with the boy, but his mind was still confused by (Y/N - 2023)'s presence now. How (Y/N - 1940) and (Y/N - 2023) could be different people but so similar.
Bucky googled the boy's name but found nothing. He didn't have the confidence of anyone at SHIELD to be able to use their database to search.
He even considered talking to Strange, but he would rather not be too close to magic. He still hadn't recovered from all the mess Thanos had caused and messing with forces beyond human science was out of the question.
Steve had already passed away, so I couldn't ask him either. And (Y/N - 2023) didn't know anything about (Y/N - 1940) either, he thought it was just a dream he was having. Bucky was out of answers, he didn't know what to do.
- Knowledge is power, but it can also be a curse - The doctor once said this to Bucky.
She said that sometimes it was not worth knowing about everything. Maybe this was one of those times. Did he need to know about this? Especially when not even (Y/N - 2023) knew.
Bucky decided to forget about (Y/N - 1940). At least, for now. He promised himself that he would focus on (Y/N - 2023).
1940
"- So you finally decided to accept your mystical side, son. - (Y/N - 1940)' mother claimed to be descended from an ancient family of witches and wizards, but the man never took her seriously about it. But he admitted that he had seen her do things that could not be explained.
- No. I need to ask you a question. - He spoke, sitting down at the dining table with her as she began to fill two glasses with water.
- Speak up, son. - The woman answered and brought the glasses to the table.
- Could you bring someone back from the dead? - (Y/N - 1940) asked uncertainly.
The woman was silent for a while. Partly to assimilate the question and partly to formulate the answer.
- Not that I know of. Death is the only thing that no one has any kind of control over. You can't change someone's death. You cannot bring, something or someone that is not alive.
- I see. - (Y/N - 1940) lowered his gaze.
- Why?" she asked worriedly.
(Y/N - 1940) wanted to tell his mother. He wanted to tell her that he had lost someone very important to him. But he couldn't. Just as he couldn't tell her about the book she said was magic that he took from her house without her noticing. Just as he wanted to tell what he was about to do.
"I don't want to live in a world where you won't be with me. You promised you would protect me, but now you're gone." (Y/N - 1940) picked up the glass he had prepared. He sat on the bed and kept rethinking it so many times, trying to make sure he wanted to do this. "We can't be together now, Bucky, but I hope I can find you in the next life."
So (Y/N - 1940) drank. He lay down on the bed and closed his eyes. He let the tears fall through his eyes as he felt his body getting heavier, felt the tiredness appearing and his body wanting to shut down.
(Y/N - 1940) wished he could dream of Bucky. To dream of a perfect life of the two of them together.
Maybe he would be grateful that he didn't know that his body was found in his bed a few days later when they were looking for him for missing so many times from the factory. He would be sad if he knew that his best friend, the daughter of his favorite bar owner, cried herself hoarse at his funeral.
In (Y/N - 1940)' last moments he was sure that Bucky was the right person for him, but it was not the time for the two of them to be together.
2023
Bucky was standing in the cemetery. He went back to the owner of the bar to talk about what she knew about her mother's best friend.
After many conversations and a few stories, the woman told him about the man's grave.
Now Bucky stood there, alone. The weather was cloudy, but it was not raining. The place was quiet and they had few people paying tributes to the deceased.
"Here lies (Y/N - 1940) Neal Moore (1918 - 1940)"
He died the same year they met. He took his own life, days after Bucky was reported dead. No one ever knew why he did it, but Bucky did.
Bucky put his hand on the tombstone.
- I found you in this life. - Bucky speaks hoping that (Y/N - 1940) will listen. - And I will not lose you again.

Things I've realized only the fifth time reading aftg
Andrew probably hates his smile the same way Neil hates his (because of his meds)
Neil hasn't laughed once throughout all three books (save that one hysterical breakdown after his father was killed)
Kevin most likely has a problem going anywhere alone (because ravens are only allowed to go in pairs)
Nicky is extremely touch-starved
Neil was already in love with Andrew by the winter banquet
Andrew probably lashed out at Nicky so hard because Aaron said Nicky wanted to r*pe Neil (even if he overreacts normally on meds, that word must have triggered him)
Andrew didn't give Neil his clothes back after the shower scene and I will assume he just kept them
Andrew slept closer to the door and with his back to it at the cabin
Andrew struck deals with people because he couldn't see any other reason they would want to stay in his life
