I’ve been feeling pretty down about my art lately. Getting more con rejections and waitlisted than I did last year definitely hasn’t helped, but it is what it is. But when I get down on myself I always return to my ocs and my favorite colours. I’ve been trying for years to develop a thinner line art style to match industry standards but I think my art just looks better with thicker lines. It’ll have to be fine :’D There are still some concept artists and such who use thick lines too. Here I kinda used them as part of the style and not just a guideline for where the colours go. Anyways, enjoy this little painting. I’ll post more updates soon including my convention schedule.

My photo memories reminded me today that exactly 10 years ago was the first time I boothed at a con! I was bullied into doing it and I had no idea what I was doing at all! But I definitely got hooked enough to make this into my career! The first merch I ever did were these portrait stickers I hand made and sealed with mod podge. I stopped making merch myself in 2015 but I got my prints done at FedEx and ordered my stickers and such from Redbubble. They looked fine, but it was so expensive! It wasn’t until I went full time in 2018 that I got serious trying to find better ways to get my merch made. I still use the first charm manufacturer I found to this day!

My booth set up has been through so many different versions over the years and it’s really fun to look back! The display and my art have changed with me as I have had my own little identity crises about who I am as a person as an artist. It used to be enough that I was the funny one, that people bought my posters because the joke made them laugh or friends kept me around because I was witty or useful. No one ever said my art was beautiful, and it drove me to a breaking point. In 2019 I threw out my entire poster stock after the con season wrapped up and spent the pandemic trying to reinvent myself. I swore I wasn’t going to just be the funny one anymore. 

2023 was a massively big year for me - the busiest and biggest con year ever for me - and I need to remember to feel proud for how far I’ve come. My style, my skill, my business, myself - everything has grown so much! And people have been so incredibly kind this year!! Every con I’ve been to this year I was just blown away by everyone’s kind words. Whether you met me for the first time this year or you’ve been around for my whole art journey or something in between - THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I love you all so much <3

Ace Attorney!!!! GODDAMN I love AA! It was my first big fandom I got into! They’re rereleasing the second trilogy soon! I am rabid at the mouth and please don’t help me! Bark bark bark!

This one took me about 60 hours to do iirc? I sometimes tend to get bogged down in detail work, but I don’t mind because I actually really enjoy doing little details and such. I really wanted to set this piece at dusk because I like to think they just won a big case and are now celebrating afterwards! Who won the case? That’s unclear. Just pick your favourite attorney ;)

My comic Year of the Marachi turned 10 years old this month! 10 years ago I posted the first update - the prologue - on DeviantArt and I'm still chugging along with no intention of stopping until the story says so xD I'm working hard on Book 7 but in the mean time...

This is my baby girl, my pride and joy, my everything, my protag Shanaihe. Her name means "North Star", hence the Ursa Minor constellation with Polaris shining brightly in the bg! She is the last in a long line of monarchs in a country plagued by war, but the most important thing she would like you to know about herself is that she likes her morning coffee with a drop of milk and two sugar cubes.

Finally watched Trigun Stampede! I loved it a bunch but man, poor Vash needs a break! I know a lot of people prefer his original look from the 90s but I love this new design a whole lot.
