So many children crying alone,
Kept in houses that aren't homes,
Like precious gems,
Slowly turning to stone.

Shia LeBouf's confession is interesting. Is he just saying what people want to hear because he's found himself in a corner and has realised he has nowhere else to go?
In a way I don't think it really matters, because he's modelling the correct behaviour of someone who has treated people badly and wants to reform. Therefore we should give him the opportunity to prove he has actually changed.
Accountability is hard. We all want to believe we're good people, but at times all of us fail to meet that standard. It's a natural response to try to justify our behaviour to ease feelings of guilt. True self-esteem allows you to see and acknowledge your own failings, as opposed to narcissistic self-esteem which is delusional in nature and needs to deny those failings.

Disaster storms in,
Ending the life I knew,
Frail and weak,
I find it hard to speak,
To remember my needs,
As a cruel world,
Stampedes over us all,
The ones left in the rubble,
As the others battle,
Taking what they can,
Nothing to spare,
Not even a glance,
As we lay in pain on the ground,
Preventable pain,
But there's no time for healing,
When we're all just surviving.

Some might think strong emotions make you crazy, but they're one step less crazy than denial, suppression and distortion of reality.

If we're all eventually reincarnated as everyone, then karma is real, because we will experience the results of our actions from all perspectives. Therefore by bringing what is perceived as good into the world, we will experience the rewards of our actions, and so too with what is perceived as bad.

Some thoughts on consciousness that may or may not be original, but we are all the same consciousness anyway so what does it matter?
I think a good analogy for consciousness is water. Our bodies and minds are the container holding the water of consciousness. This would mean all conscious beings are the same at the core. That is if you define a being by its consciousness rather than it's anatomy. That's fair enough too if you would prefer to define a being by their body, thoughts, ego, personality etc. But if all those things existed without consciousness, what would be the point? A person would exist only to the conscious beings around them.
A type of reincarnation is possible if consciousness is fluid and always moving. One consciousness blends into another seamlessly. Maybe a better way to think of it than reincarnation is multiple concurrent existences, perhaps both as other versions of ourselves and as other people.
This would mean the only thing that gives the impression of a continuous existence as an individual is our stored memories in the physical body, which I think don't define us, as that is more like a computer storing memory. Theoretically we could wake up as a different person every day and never know. Or every second we could be a different person and never know.
To get a bit more metaphysical, perhaps in the present moment all possibilities exist (as quantum physics seems to suggest), and it is only the past that branches off into a stored reality.
And now my brain is broken.

I have to believe love means there is something significant about two souls meeting, that goes beyond the present life. Otherwise it all seems too harsh and cruel. Sometimes you might love someone but not be compatible with them in their current form. But there is still some reason for your meeting and being in love, however briefly. I don't think it can just come down to chemicals, since love can disappear as quickly as it appears. And I don't think it's just a mental thing either, because sometimes it just doesn't make any sense.
