Dead Island 2 and the thousand year wait.
I love Zombies. I love Dead Island (One of my favorite games and my favorite shooter) and Riptide was a great follow up. I’ve had a hard past involving Dead Island and how I’ve finished it over 4 times and beaten it getting every character up to the max levels in both 1 and Riptide because of various reasons (Xbox got stolen, ps3 my mom bought got stolen, beat it on ps3 and then got a ps4 which eventually died and had to redo all the data on it). You could say I’m an avid fan of the series 2 main games so I have been waiting for this game for a long time and even patiently waited sitting, waiting, hoping it would get out of hell. My patience has not been rewarded. Dead Island 2 is a tough pill to swallow. The game’s not bad but it lacks something to make it great. The game is a solid experience besides a few things I dislike about it (taking out the entire fact that it is Dead Island and just focusing on the game play aspect). So what do I dislike about Dead Island 2? Let’s start with the gameplay stuff first. Firstly the games got one thing going for it that is fantastic. The gore and damage to zombies in this is great and all the effort put into it shows. The combat is a little bit jankier as they upped the speed of combat a little and it’s not a smooth event when it happens. Hit boxes are a little off too. This can be forgiven if they didn’t bring back the 2 most egregious parts of the first games combat. Firstly guns are just awful in this game. They were bad in the first but had a really important part of the game tied to it. See guns were bad then but they helped kill a specific enemy. Humans. Humans seem to be lacking in this game from what I have played and all we have is the undead. Some of you probably think that I’m gonna say there are not enough zombies in the game but that is the worst take I’ve seen on this game. The zombies fucking spawn often and replace the ones you killed too quickly but that isn’t the issue. Special zombies in this game are just like the last one. Fucking tedious to deal with. The worst part is because everything is faster paced now they just get even more annoying to deal with. It’s not fun having a fatty fat fat vom-zom come at you while 2 big bois try and pound you like you’re the ground. That shit is annoying especially since they are not only all sponges compared to the regular zombies but because they also have attacks that are just annoying to deal with. They also deal tons of damage as well. Sure health is easy to replenish when you can make a ton of health kits but it gets super tedious when you eventually get screamers who call in tons of dead from the surrounding areas who are also big bois and fatsos and runners, and special runners, and walkers, and so on. That brings me to the other point on special zombies. Variants are also annoying. See certain zombies are there that are undamaged by certain effects such as fire, or electric, or damage in general and that shit adds to the tedium of the other zombies who are special. Especially when you have less weapons you can carry in general and they get broken easily because you have zombies who respawn quickly in an area. I had killed 3 screamers and all the people in an area and figured id go into a house since it’d been hours since I looted it, got a few items, came back out and everything had respawned in a matter of moments. All my weapons had become half health and since money is slightly harder to get since picking up weapons is now limited compared to the first game and I can only hold so much I just had to beat them and basically have never looted in the first place since it didn’t amount to much anyway. That also becomes the issue. Dead island 1 is technically bigger in scope in its areas. They are much larger and have more to loot and places to go and not everything that is cool is locked behind 1500 dollars of in game pay wall called fuses. Loot becomes annoying and tedious to deal with when you can’t do much besides break it down. Now I will say this. The game does allow you to remove the additional effects you have on weapons and store them for later use if need be. Giving you back parts to remake stuff later and have it so you can sell weapons and parts when needed. That however is removed with the tedium of going back and forth between each weapon instead of a quick 1 button press to cycle between weapons on a menu. This game is filled with those small details to cause slight annoyance. Hell, as much as the puzzles are low and so on I don’t expect much since the game is a zombie fps. Puzzles aren’t a big deal but the whole dying quickly from things such as electricity and poison and so on based on your character model gets kind of annoying. Which brings me to my actual gripes with the game. Dead Island 1 has a solid - great cast of characters. Not really anyone I disliked out of the main cast. I also love Sam B but who doesn’t right? The thing is this new cast of characters all kind of doesn’t hit the same. Also none of them feel unique. It is difficult to really get behind these characters based on the simple fact that not only are there 6 characters to choose from who all feel kind of samey with their back stories but they also kind of play the same based on your style of play. It means you find one dude who you like and then just build them in a specific style while not really getting rewarded based on that style. Here’s what I mean. In 1/Riptide (I will now basically refer to them both as 1) you have 5 different playable characters. Each one a unique style of play offensively and defensively. You have Logan who is a jack of all trades allowing you to not only use any weapon you come across but also later on in the next game he’s in actually get throwing weapons. His defensive ability is alcohol acts as another easier to find med kit. You have Purna who deals more damage with guns and also pumps up all your stat boosts. Meaning when playing with other people you can pump their healing and damage abilities making it safer for you and even if you’re alone you still get boosts to your boosts because yo dawg insert Xzibit meme here. You get Xian mei who is great with swords and pumping out shit tons of damage and heals better with the rarer harder to find med kits. You have John who is a strange mix of offense and being tanky while doing it and having heals in his offensive abilities which are based on hand to hand weapons and lastly, you have Sam B who is a tank who heals over time as well as has blunt weapons. When I look at these new people there are 6 people who are all a mish mash at the end of the game. Honestly they don’t feel like they do anything because as much as some cards in your skill cards are for 2 people tops they can interchange play styles easily. Which kind of removes the point of having styles  be on a specific person to begin with. Stats kind of don’t matter after a while when one is walking speed. Especially since running no longer costs stamina. In fact stamina feels kinda useless cause sure I can do power attacks which are stamina costing but I can also instead spec my character into fast attacks, slap on corrosive damage, kill everything quick, and also heal when attacked by dodging which can go on like every character.  I’ve been telling my friends for years Dead Island is basically just Borderlands but with zombies and it’s mostly true besides a few small details. The reason why was the skill tree. You can invest in how you want to play a character by either taking fury, or just having no fury skills. I don’t enjoy fury so I never took it until riptide when I ran out of other stuff to take. One of my largest gripes though is kind of how I have 0 interest in the caste of characters. DI2 sure has some characters doesn’t it? You have the dude who does dangerous stuff. Then you have the girl who likes to do dangerous stuff. There is the stripper. There’s the girl who does dangerous stuff. There’s the girl who does dangerous stuff. Lastly there is the guy who is an assassin. Does that sound vague? Here let me try that with the caste of 1. You got the rapper, The girl who is a body guard, the athlete, the hotel girl who is undercover, and the military guy. Maybe that is a little unfair. Let’s try 2 again. You have the stunt person, the stunt person, the person who runs, the stripper, the person who does skate fighting, and the guy who hustles. They sound interesting now but when you have 2 stunt people and then everyone seems like they’re capable compared to the one guy who was a rap artist who just so happens to be here it kind of falls a little flat. Especially since we lost out on “Jack Black”. The loss of the Jack Black character AKA Max. See it’s only under recent events that I had learned that he originally was not going to be a playable character but even then Jack Black impersonators are always cool to have around. They in 10 years could have changed him to be in the game. It’s honestly strange they just didn’t make a better Dead Island. That’s because they just made Dead Island with some changes. We got a game that was in development for 10 years and it did not do enough. It changed tons of things and didn’t do enough to make those changes better the game. Honestly a tighter smaller caste with skill trees (like the first) would have been nice. Shit a proper ending that probably doesn’t hinge on the dlc we are getting would have also been nice. Lastly having characters like Sam B not return would have been nice. I think that’s honestly a misstep since I personally would have rather played him than anyone else. (He also doesn’t feel like Sam B and is just there kinda for like nostalgia pop) I’ve for years envisioned myself playing Jack Black and killing zombies. That’s my fault. I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up. The game being kind of mid is their fault. Next time you let a game be worked on for a decade maybe do better than ok. I just hope you guys can come back and actually make Dead Island 3 a decent game because if you don’t you are going to lose out on a franchise who could have decent staying power.

I was let down by the new Kamigawa set. Here is why.
Kamigawa neon dynasty is a set that I was super hyped up for. There was so many story beats we could have gotten that showed japan as a country in the magic world and didnt get. we also had the looming threat of a now defeated enemy in nicol bolas who swore revenge on those who wronged him for his death and anyone he associated with and his entire home. Since vivien reid lost her home to a bolas invasion it would only be fitting for kamigawa to get the same treatment story wise and have to come together to fight him. Instead I feel like we got 2 things. A set that ties into the rest of recent magic sets personality wise and feels like it lacks a proper identity and a plane that no longer feels as aesthetically japanese so much as future with nothing other than "meme" as a coat of paint. Let me explain but also extend an olive branch.
There is major care in this set with the amount of references and love it has. Mechs, futuristic japan from movies, akira biker gang reference, the monkey hotspring, and several other small things that are nice touches but feel like it's just there to appease the "japanese style" of the plane. Even so it does bring back some small nudges to the first block of Kamigawa. It brought back shrines, channel, samurai, ninjas, the species of the plane, kirin, myojin as a cycle of cards, the dragons cycle, and legendary lands. There is attention to detail but that is where I feel the set ends when it comes to succession of the Kamigawa plane.
First this set was a set 20 years in the making wanted by fans of the original Kamigawa block. What everyone wanted (or at least to my account of what I can gather) is that they wanted Kamigawa block but better and not bad in its cards. It doesn't mean that almost everything that was in the first block is bad in style. It means it was less powerful because it came after one of the strongest blocks in the game. Mirrodin (which got another revisit which was also really strong). Mirrodin block was so busted they (from what I have heard) got a little afraid of making anything strong and thus made everything a little weak. I don't fully buy that because a ton of effort and care was put into Kamigawa. It just came after a cycle which was in general super strong and had a theme of "waiting" to do things. Not playing magic is "fun" only to those who want to play against a blue control deck. Both equate the same thing. Not playing magic and we all know how fun that is to play against. However with the right style of play focused on playing your cards certain aspects of the block are nice. The major issue of the block was moonfolk, the akki, and lastly some of the key words that the block had. Moonfolk had the horrible idea of bouncing your own lands back to your hand which meant you lost ability to either use the effects often or even in general having mana for "blue control". Red did the same with a land destruction theme. Other colors did the same by making you sweep cards back to your hand and not playing shit. (white) and another color in general just said "hold shit in your hand so you can in general have more cards" (black). Green, well green actually wanted you to play magic. It even put cards back into your hand with soulshift so that you could constantly get stuff out. It did have the idea that you should play a ton of lands but either way it wanted you to play the game. There were tons of redeeming things they could have brought back.
See the Kamigawa set had some actually playable ideas behind what it did. Some of it perfectly represented feudal japan. There were monks, spirituality, ninjas, samurai, the gods and the spirits, a focus on equipment and combat, and legendary creatures. Many of these things are good to build themes around. Magic sets and blocks generally build around key words and also previous versions of the plane. Looking at something like Ravnica you get that through some sets changing while others stay kind of the same. Even if they are relatively different in some keywords they do have the same style of play as the last one. Golgari wanted stuff in the discards and in recent times it has been no different. Rakdos is about live fast die fast and they do the same thing albeit instead of discarding your hand you get the same benefits by playing everything quickly in a rush style.Hell Gruul is still big stompy boys. The difference is the leaders shape the style of play. Kamigawa should have this but keep with tradition while advancing in its ways of doing things. some traditional stuff from original sets are just straight up bad but we can all agree that certain ones are again just plain worth keeping. Let's look at the best keyword in Kamigawa. Ninjutsu. Ninjutsu was one of the few keywords that kept making its way back into the game through commander decks and side products. People love ninjas and they are no different here. Some other colors have ninjas which is a little strange thematically but it's not a big deal. Other things that return are Samurai albeit vastly different than they once were. This is one of the few things I'd have kept. Samurai are what I would call more traditional than current so changing them from the bushido aspect seems like a bad call. Now they feel like Bant in having many cards based on attacking alone or warriors. Bushido was a great idea in that it stopped them from being great outside of combat. Samurai are great in combat but are not spellcasters. They would be better suited to be easier to take out with tricks. Magic. Something that certain parts of kamigawa would be based on. The arcane and mystic teachings. The plane is too futuristic and technological that it lost that. Why have samurai when you can just have mechs? (The answer is simple in that samurai protect the leader of the plane and can't defend the leader if they are gonna possibly get crushed by a giant robot) Samurai should have remained the way they were. It was the third best keyword. The second best being channel. Other keywords they could have kept were Arcane/Splice.
Keeping with the idea that traditionalism is important to the identity of the set you could have still had the scholars in the blue part of Kamigawa still learning old spells as well. Dropping entirely the idea of putting lands back into your hand while keeping the idea of having many cards in hand would have been easy if you kept the idea of splice. Making the cost of it to either be like delve or improvise or even convoke would have helped to make things happen. You could even have creatures tap to activate arcane effects from hand based on their cost. Green needed an identity in keywords as well. Swarm was great for snakes as they are the elves of the plane while having soulshift exist on monks be a thing as well. Having a spiritual side of the plane is still important. Having a keyword for how many lands you have in play would have also worked. We lost many things in the update to the plane.
We lost many keywords and themes in the update. We lost Arcane, Turn cards, Bushido, Legendary matters, Soulshift, playing spirits and arcane, splice/arcane, lands to hand with the moonfolk, ogres and demons, sweep, and epic. Again some of these were lost due to how bad they were but again some are things we could have changed slightly and put in a focus on to specific colors and so on. Instead it feels like we just got a "best of" current sets mechanics.
Recently we got many sets in magic over a couple years span. These sets included mechanics such as sagas, enchantment creatures, artifact creatures and lastly vehicles. This set feels like it has many of those mechanics shoe horned in. I think this is because they just wanted to keep the set able to mesh with the current style of play. This I feel is a little bit of a shame. Those mechanics feel more like their home than Kamigawa. Sagas are for stories told in the set they are based on. Dominaria itself is a long storied plane which has had many stories to pass down from person to person. Gerard, the weatherlight, sisay, the crew in general, urza, phyrexia, bolas, the brothers war, and everything else took place on this plane. The reason why is because planes existed but the story was like it is now. Focused heavily on a set group of people. The gatewatch is the new weatherlight crew. This is fine but for something such as Kamigawa which we haven't seen and doesn't currently fit in properly without being shoehorned in just doesn't seem to fit. This is one of the reasons why sagas don't fit to me. Sure those things show some spots we missed but it feels more or less like we could have gotten some sets to tell some stories instead of just sagas. They might fit here but it feels less natural than when it was something like when Dominaria did it. The last time we got sagas was from the second Theros set which happened to be a enchantment heavy set. To be fair they did give a slight twist on it that feels slightly Kamigawa in it flips after it is finished like the original dual sided cards Kamigawa had where you would spin the card around and it turns into a creature but it still feels like it's just a shoe in of another theme. Enchantment creatures also feel out of place. In Theros it was showing someone who was blessed by the gods and in here it feels slammed onto many cards who don't feel like they care about the gods. Although the enchantment dog feels like a good touch it seems out of place for a plane who seems to have lost its spiritual side. The monks seem like they would have benefited from this most of all but in general it just feels like another best of from Theros. Artifact creatures seem like it's a fitting thing to the current version of the plane but it also just feels like a way to get Phyrexia involved. Sure I can see some people changing body parts like they do in Ghost in the shell but this feels more like it just fits with the artifact forward theme magic has in certain sets. Vehicles also feel thrown in but only because it's the future. All of these themes are heavily leaned into as well. With the lack of focusing on Kamigawa and more on the current state of magic it just feels like the set was an after thought. I shouldn't just complain though. If you want something you care about to matter you have to provide ideas to have at least fixed the current issues.
The reason it feels just kind of there is that it needed more cards. Either to not be a single set and be at least 2 sets to re-establish this new version of a plane we all love and wanted again or a large set. Something to show "hey, we know you've been waiting for a long time so have a double sized set". They could have also made the set not a part of the current story and showed some small in betweens between now and then. Here are some story beats they could have made. 1: The kami war is over and peace is now on the plane. The peace is slightly faulty in that there is less harmony than the living and spiritual would like. Living people don't pray much to the gods anymore and gods are now playing more pranks to try and be playful. With a lack of communication it looks like another kami war might come on. Suddenly Nicol Bolas appears and starts to destroy the plane. He is however still weak from a lack of gaining power from the conflux on Alara and thus is not fully prepared for the Kami and living realm to fight back. After a hard battle Kamigawa is victorious but afraid of another invasion and goes in search of better ways to defend itself. The find other places and learn of technology and bring it back and there is a technological boom in Kamigawa. 2: Traditionalism and modernism are clashing. The Sokenzan and Takenuma as well as the forests are harsh places with the constant cold and horrible living conditions. Snake people are also still unwilling to work with non snakes and there is constant strife. Technology has started to advance more in those places for certain people while the Eiganjo and Moonfolk areas live in better living conditions. This causes the two ideals to clash until a fight gets them to eventually see eye to eye and harmony between the two sides builds for the future we have now.
I know there are many stories that have also been presented but these could have been parts of those stories as well as how we got to the Kamigawa we got now. I know there are many story beats that closely resemble this and that is fine. Instead of complaining what sets we should have gotten the gameplay should be equally as important as what they could have focused on and I'm sure in its own way it fits fine. Thematically I would have done different.
What old Kamigawa lacked was major identities for the color combos. Sure some colors fit fine but others were just, bad. Green and blue would work well with bouncing lands back to your hand and playing them again but that seems like a bad landfall. Red and white had samurai while black and blue had hand control as a huge deal but only in lowering and raising hand sizes. There are many more I could write down but we've seen these color combos from them. Here are a list of what I would have as a color combo for the plane.
White blue - Scholars come to mind for this color combo. I'd have made Arcane an important card effect again focusing mostly on these colors. Harmony dictates that the other colors also have Arcane in it and this would allow you to use those colors in white and blue. What I would have gone for was the same idea of how convoke and the keywords like that work. It would have allowed you to tap your creatures to use effects from your hand. Cards would have effects like Arcane - You may reveal this card from your hand. Play this cards effect by paying its mana cost. You may tap creatures you control that are the same color as this card to lower the cost of this card by 1. Splice - You may splice this card onto an arcane effect by revealing this card from your hand and paying its costs. You may tap a creature as if it were a land for this cards splice cost as if it were a land of the color it identifies as.
White black - Yakuza comes to mind for this color combo. Having you use equipments of many sorts would have worked out for it. Equipment mattering was a style of play in the last style of kamigawa block. Many different equipments that are legendary would have been a cool idea.
White red - Samurai and bushido would have made a come back. In the original set it was ronin who had no master and samurai. This could have been based on bringing combat mattering and combat tricks into the game. Giving pump spells to their samurai and smaller ones entering fast would have been good. Blocking would pump your creatures while allowing you for super fast game play.
White green - Monks and spirits. Green had a bunch of when spirits are played as well as arcane. This could have followed that theme. Monks are also a definite white color as well. Spirituality and helping the Kami who come into the living plane would have been a great theme. You could also pump out some tokens as well.
Blue black - Ninjas. Ninjutsu is one of the keywords that is a fan favorite.
Blue red - If any color combo would be hyper focused on artifacts it would be this one. Playing and advancing tech is something the Izzet guild showcase and I think that is the perfect style for this color as well. Blue signifies the desire to learn and red is the haphazard style they would have. This however would be less volatile and would focus on making small tokens as well. Japan is known for its tech boom and this would be the tech industry pumping out at an advanced pace.
Blue green - Snakes would make a great come back in this color combo. Throwing out snakes like elves is natural as that is what they used to do. Expansion for the species with lands and also playing tons of cards would bring back the old green style as well as make the land theme of old blue a better thing as well. Spirituality of turning the lands into creatures could suit as well. If wanting to keep with a theme of bringing older sets back in would be important this would be a good place to make Kamigawa like Zendikar. Instead of land fall or awaken though it would allow you to possibly just play more lands like Azusa did or it would allow your lands to be played as creatures. Make a bunch of lands that happen to also be snakes as well.
Black red - Demons tried to take over Kamigawa and invade which means they would have fewer but ogres could still be a red color as well. Making pacts to keep their very few demons alive would mean that the very few ogres left would empower the very few demons you did play. You could even make Hidetsugu matter more as a card and make him a lead theme since most ogres now pray to him.  (at least to my understanding) Focusing on finding demon cards as well as pumping the ones in play with effects like zombies would be a cool idea. You could even incorporate devils who are fledgeling demons.
Black green - Soulshift would be a good idea here. Making it like other black green decks seems like a great idea in graveyard synergy is always loved by its players. Bringing back good green spirits with some black soulshift effects seems like the right way to go.
Red green - Channel would have been great here. Using the effect like that of Gruul but with multiple effects would have allowed for instead of a sorcery or instant effect to work in your deck you could have gone with full on creature deck with channel effects. This would have worked well with how goblins in general are as well as allow some off shoot kamis from green to help out in the channel effect. Also lands could have had some channel effects in these colors as well. This would work well with the having less lands and destroying lands the akki had going on as well.
These are just some ideas I thought of that would fit the theme of the older stuff while putting it into a more streamlined set of effects based on how modern magic works color wheel wise. Many of these effects would also be a solid ability to splash into other colors making for good draft ability. I know many people loved the current set and that is fine. These are the feelings I have when looking at it and feel we could have gotten better. Better in story, better in themes, better in everything. This was a set 20 years after the original set. A set that we were told we weren't gonna get. A set we wanted. My expectations were high because I know Magic is great at making planes. This time it just feels like I was let down.

Pants Feet is a work of art and a masterpiece.
If you follow me on Twitter (it’s fine if you don’t) then you would know that I love the song PantsFeet by DJ Cummerbund. I have went out to say it is a great song and honestly one of the best songs I have ever heard. I will now attempt to explain to you why that is. Firstly it needs to be said that DJ Cummerbund is a musical genius. The man has an ear and eye for music mash ups like I’ve never seen before. His songs are not just normal songs but also MEMEs as well. Master shit posts for some while each is in its own right an at worst decent song. My list of stuff that he has that I like are: Everybody (machos back) PantsFeet FreckleFeet It wasn’t jupiter Shaq is in the elevator I believe in a pony This is the way america makes me feel Get out of my black or in too deep Play that funky music Rammstein Ownin up my heart Can’t get enough of your love, battlefield Blurry in the USA Dirt Shoulders This is in no way to say these are the only good songs but to show that he has this many songs I like while having many other songs. The songs here show a mix of multiple different genres that he can use and different times the music comes from. A great musician is capable of having the ability to use more than one style of music and DJC (I will now call him this instead of typing his full name) shows his musical range. I love music and currently have 1531 songs on my Itunes. This man has that many songs that I like and it just shows how good he is. However, we’re not here to just tell how great he is. I am here to explain why PantsFeet is one of the best songs ever. Before watching this maybe watch the song because if you couldn’t guess is already there are major spoilers ahead. First we have to break down the song piece by piece. It starts off with Nickelback. Nickelback is a good band. Yeah, that’s right. I’m one of the many people who like Nickelback and I feel no shame in saying it. Which is a scary thing because this is the internet and the “agreed upon” thing on the internet is that Nickelback is “poopy music for baby people” or something like that. “Their music is formulaic and isn’t even rock”  is what the “cool people” would say. I don’t agree that they are bad. I don’t think being formulaic is a bad thing either. Finding a musical genre that works for you and keeping at it is what some bands do. Nickelback happens to do it well. This has brought their earlier works to meme status. One being the song Photograph. The song as stated earlier starts off with nickelback singing to the theme of Photograph. The song they are singing is just a part of “figured you out”. “I like your pants around your feet”. Those words are the main parts of the song. Either in that order or in some version of in multiple ways. Then the song picks up and the chorus starts blaring as the singer perfectly sings about how they love both pants and feet. Then it hits. Random old man playing a trumpet. The song returns from its small flair moment and repeats the main words of how he likes your pants around your feet. Then it repeats into the chorus like any song would do. Then it hits peak perfection. See Nickelback isn’t the first person to be “Nickelback” in the eyes of the people. That from what I understand, belongs to the band Creed. Creed was a huge act back in the late 90′s early 2000′s. They had hit songs even having one be a big deal for Scream 3. Creed coming in is what we call a “perfect moment.” He even changes the words normally said in the song that sound like feet to feet. Then it happens. We get Macho man. Macho man is DJC’s signature. In most songs he has Macho man say a rhyme or a line. This is no different. His line is a heartfelt one as, if you know the genre that these two bands play it is either “wholesome” kind of rock in soft rock or for Creed it is christian rock or has religious undertones. His message is simple and pure. He wants all his “little macho maniacs to stay in school and say no to drugs, yeah.” The reason this is funny (in a tragic way as in this part is not funny) is that wrestling was riddled with tons of drugs during the golden era. Also creed’s lead singer did a shit ton of drugs as well (however, the message with these two things is ironically funny). The song finishes with the chorus and drifting off into what the song is meant to sound like. A memory being remembered happily. That’s what photograph is meant to represent as a song. The end of the video is a promotion for Levi’s jeans. The perfect french kiss part of the ending. PantsFeet is a perfect song. It has no bad moment. Repetition is enjoyable (if you’ve heard of the bird is the word than you would know how it can be successful in music.) as well as it having 2 great sounding bands. It is a MEME as well. It just hits as a great joke that you can listen to multiple times. Because most importantly it is a great song. It’s not bad that this may be DJCs magnum opus. It just showed how great he was early on. The song is so great in fact that Nickelback even likes it. If you like music then you owe it to yourself to listen to this song.

Mox is great.
I’ve never met John Good. I’ve never met Dean Ambrose. I’ve never met Jon Moxley. This book makes me feel like I’ve gotten a crash course on the man. I’ve never seen a Jon Moxley fight since I personally do not watch AEW (but I am very happy they are successful. I don’t just love wrestling. I want it to thrive. I want those companies to compete and make each other reach new heights. It’s not bad to have different. New isn’t bad. New is good because all it can do is make what I love grow. But this isn’t about the companies I do or do not watch.) but I do hear he is great in his element. The only knowledge I have of this man is this book, what I’ve heard of him in second hand stories, and his tenure with WWE. What can I say about this book? It’s hard to say because this isn’t a book. These are first hand accounts from the mouth of a man who wanted to tell you some shit. If I say anything about this book it’s literally just talking about the guy who wrote it. Jon good doesn’t seem like the type of guy who wouldn’t write a book. Which shows what kind of man he is. Because he wrote a fucking book. That just shows he’s a wild card who can’t be guessed on what his next action will be. That’s what I’ve taken from this book. So much has come out that it’s really hard to pin point who he is but I’m gonna try. Jon is a man of duality. He’s quiet, he’s kind, he’s into the simple life. He enjoys a quiet good time and the simple things in life. Mox is a fucking maverick who likes to party and is willing to throw down in a moments notice. Mox don’t take shit and is willing to show you he doesn’t care what you are or who you are. He’s quick to punch himself in the face or you in the face just to prove a damn point. He’s the kind of man you want in your corner because you would rather have him slap your back saying go get him than look him in the eye. Because when Mox looks you in the eye there is intent. There is a mission. Both of these men are the type of dude you wanna follow. Whether as a friend or as a fighter. But you don’t follow him because he stands by your side. His honesty of you can do it makes you want to do what he say you can because he doesn’t seem like the type to lie. Because he doesn’t seem like the type to say anything unless there is purpose. How do I know this without having met the man? Because for a guy who is private he let out so much in a single book that you learned who he was an what he was about. You learned he was a poor boy who grew up in the rough part of town and had to fight. You learned he knew what he was about and what stories of the business he wanted to share the most. book isn’t some autobiography either because it’s out of order and gives details you want to hear instead of accounts of stuff you already can look up on the internet. His book is personal from a guy who doesn’t seem like he wants the world to know who he is. Like he wants you to see it instead of hear about it. He tells you about his marriage, his friendship with people he lost and lastly, shit he cares about. Sandwiches, music, movies, hiking, dives, and home. Not just his house but home. It’s an intimate book. Because the book is Mox. The book couldn’t be anymore Mox unless the book was grafted from his skin and written in his own blood. And I’m sure to some degree if he though of it he would have written a copy in that way if he could have. Shit the book is so great that even though one of the chapters starts mid sentence it just hits great because it feels like something that he’d do. Fill you in on a mid thought and because you are so invested you just listen and don’t say shit about how you have no idea what he is talking about. This book is not just a good book but it’s one of the best times I’ve had with wrestling and there wasn’t a single punch thrown (at least visually) If you haven’t picked this book up you should. If you have it and haven’t started it you should. There isn’t much to say other than thanks John/Mox. You crazy bastards are one of the coolest dudes out there. You don’t even try. Because you’re the type of cool dude who doesn’t need to try to be cool and just is.

Cowboy Bebop live action is a no go for me.
I am an old man when it comes to anime. I've been around for what many would say is the beginning of anime in America or at least what I would heavily assume is the start of it. I was around when stuff really started hitting over here such as Tenchi Muyo and Ranma 1/2 and so on. I remember being young and seeing Sailor Moon as well as seeing the original DBZ come on cartoon network where Vegeta had that crazy ass voice and when Ginyu was the big enemy at the moment. I remember seeing Devilman and so many other things when anime first came over. I was around when Anime started coming on the up and up. Where Toonami was showing things like Gundam, Outlaw star, Big O, Cowboy Bebop, and so on. I was around when western cartoons started to try and resemble anime with Teen Titans or Samurai Jack and so on. I was even around when the "Big 3" of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece were hitting big and Shonen jump was always what I bought every month with my meager amount of money I could get my hands on. I played Yugioh, and Pokemon which I had watched before school when it first came on. I even now watch some anime and stuff that catches my eye even though I hardly have the time. I'm honestly more of a binge watcher so I miss anime when it is popular and get to enjoy it without all the hype.  I'm a fan of anime. However, I'm not a snob. I don't believe in subs over dubs and I believe that anime can be enjoyed regardless of however it is presented. I'm not even the type of person who believes that western based "anime" isn't "anime" because I feel that anime comes from the east even though anime is a style and not just from the east. Mickey Mouse is not anime, but Avatar the last air bender is and if you don't like it well then just deal with my opinion and get back up on your really tall horse and trot away. I'm not even the type who shuns the idea of a western adaptation or live action or a remake or even filler or hell lastly even an anime that strays from the manga. Fuck you FMA was good and Brotherhood was also good. So what does this have to do with my not watching the live adaptation of Cowboy Bebop? Is it the fact they got Harold to play spike? Nah, I think John Cho is a fine actor and he looks a bit like Spike. Is it that the cast isn’t all Asian and that Jet is played by a POC? Fuck nah. Hell he even sounds like Jet which makes the part of my brain happy turn on. Is it that Ed is not gonna show up for a long time? Nah. I love Ed as a character but they said it was gonna be changed. Is it that it is gonna be changed? Nope. They can’t live up to the anime anyway so why do the exact thing as the anime? So than what is my gripe? It’s that the show said it was gonna be original and they just reused the same plot as the movie for the opening scene. Everything except the lines about beef stew or that it was in a convenient store was pretty much the same. Well except the stuff Jet said about war. Everything was guy whos mad at ex job, girl being taken hostage and talked down to about ideology, Spike with his headphones acting a fool, Spike messing up the plan, Jet coming in and helping out, main dude taking old lady captive, Spike saying he doesn’t give a fuck if old lady dies, Man taking a shit, Spike handling it, and “I’m just a simple bounty hunter ma’am”.  You wanna win me over with your original content? Well using someone else’s stuff is not good faith. I’m actually annoyed to the point of I’m either not gonna watch it or I’m now gonna put it off until I binge watch another full fucking show. You had one thing to do Cowboy Bebop and that was to be original while maintaining the essence of Cowboy Bebop. Now you’re just a copycat and a soulless shell of what you set out to be.

Pokemon unite, All the rage of League of Legends in only just 10 minutes!
Anyone who plays a multiplayer game knows just how infuriating it is to play with team mates. Everyone knows they are the best player in the game and if you would let them have their preferred lane they will guide you to victory cause they scale so just don't feed and farm under tower. First off you can fuck yourself with the biggest of dicks in the smallest of your holes (like your anus) unless you are into that sort of thing and if you are then no dick for you. You don't deserve it. Secondly there is no second just go fuck yourself (metaphorically). I've been playing league for a long time and have currently taken a shine to Pokemon Unite which has been a varied experience in how it goes. When it's with friends and people who are "like minded" and I can communicate with the game goes much better but with randoms the game is a pile of ass with a large pile of dicks on the side. Most people like to think themselves a savant in games they play assuming they know what they are doing and I wanna tell you not everyone is amazing at every game they pick a controller up for. Some people are fucking ass and you might be in this same situation. Am I just coming off a rager of a game where a team mate never connected after a rager of a game where 2 team mates left top solo while the jungler never ganked and then came down to 3 v 2 bot and then after I left went and followed top? Yeah. Shit's bad sometimes in this crazy world of mobas but sometimes it's really bad. Also just because I'm not a ball of sunshine doesn't mean I think the game is bad and personally I don't think I'm better than everyone else and I don't assume I deserve to be in a better placement than I am. I also don't think my feelings are invalid just because I'm livid. So a little background, I'm the type of person who can get really mad at the game, I don't throw controllers nor do I throw any matches or even just sit there and say hateful shit. That is I will say that shit out loud to myself and it might be some hurtful angry stuff but that's only to me. Most arguing I do is call someone a butt lord or something along those lines. And to be honest it is really fair to call the guy who watches you die while trying to save them and then they last hit the guy who you fought to save them and died trying a turd muncher. That guy probably in real life on the side munches turds or something. (This is not a disparaging comment on the persons mental acuity so much as they are a dingus and a butthole and are not a team player and thus they munch turds). I do like anyone else get discouraged if time after time I get matched with people who are all trying to get kills EVEN AS THE SUPPORT AND THE TANK and run into the jungle and leave you behind. The game has issues and it's a frustrating game to play. Everyone wants to win but no one wants to work together. People run out of battle and don't try and do anything. I think the game needs choices based on the types of characters you can choose and needs, not a ban system, but a system that makes whoever you get random with trades and so on. It also needs a harsher system for you to actually get banned and stuff and be "less" forgiving as well. What's really good is the account is bound to your actual account and you can't just be a jerk and screw everyone over because there is no smurfing in this game. Let's look at an ideal situation. We have better matchmaking. We get 5 random people who all play solo and are playing something like a ranked game. All people are the same tier even if they are different levels of the same tier. Master with master and beginner with beginner. I'm currently in the equivalent of gold as in expert tier. I did a lot of games to get there and played some with friends. I got to "silver" on my own before I scrounged up 2 other friends who play and grinded out games. We did well. So as I was saying before I went on a little tangent. We got 5 people who are all random tier and each person is in say "gold". They are match made into a game where all enemy team members are also "gold". The teams are
assigned roles randomly and can be traded. You get given a choice of either the pokemon in the role you own such as a blue or a red or a green or the randomly chosen one for the week. So everyone can play that role because there will always be at least one of it available and still allow later on for people to play a pokemon they are not familiar with. Now you have each person who is in the same tier level of skill as you all trying to help when they are a helper and a more aggressive person to do the attacking. Each person as you rise in tiers knows more and more how to play the game or at least should theoretically know what they are doing. If a person does poorly and looks like they aren't caring you can get more reports thrown at them and they could be something that in general is able to be explained instead of just "stayed in base". Lastly on the note of team work, some times you get into a stomp of a game. When it comes to the choice of forfeiture I think it should come down to 3 people where majority wins. Having 4 people out of 5 say they wanna quit should not be the main way to do it. I'm hoping this game gets better because I've just been getting angry at it when I try so danged hard. It just really is in general the same as league bur condensed into 10 minutes. You would think it wouldn't be that bad, but until we get a score tracker, it's hard to know if you can pull it out of your ass or not because BEING TOLD YOU ARE LOSING IS NOT A FUCKING INDICATION OF HOW WELL YOU ARE DOING.

Pokken is probably the biggest Pokemon let down in the history of Pokemon let downs.
I'm a passionate guy. I love and hate things pretty hard for many reasons and those reasons usually run deep even if they are only a few words. However, sometimes I'll have a passion so deep that it is specifically against the common consensus and will be viewed as "flawed" or "wrong" or "stupid" or "something I should get over". The point is this is one of those things that every time I explain it to my friends who like Pokken that they get defensive and tell me I'm wrong. Thankfully most of the times opinions can't really be wrong now can they? Firstly I would like to express I am not a game designer in any way and my opinions are just that. My opinion and if you don't like it that is fair. We can all live in the same space and not have to come to blows over these things. So why is Pokken the biggest let down at least for me in the world of Pokemon games? That's because Pokken is not what I expected and what it could have been. When I say it could have been better and possibly better than almost every single fighting game known to man as well better than even Smash than you can only assume my expectations were so high on this game that you could say it is my fault for putting them on the highest level and then being sad when the game doesn't even come to half of what I wanted. Let me take you back to the first time I saw a Pokemon fighting game. For many of you, you already know or have seen the game but maybe don't know the name. That game is Pokemon: Type Wild. Type Wild is basically like every single other fighting game in that you get a roster (9) of different fighters who all fight in their own style. Simple enough to get where anyone can pick it up but few could master. It is a simple game that strikes desire into the heart of fighting game lovers. Which I happen to love fighting games. I may not play the greatest amount of them but I am ungodly at Bloody Roar 3 to a point where picking up a controller is like riding a bike. Short side story. My first time drinking I played a drinking game with friends where if you win you take a shot of hard liquor. We had 4 different types of hard liquor such as Sake, Vodka, Whiskey, and something else I can't remember. Eventually I had won so many games that not only was I shit face to the point of barely able to sit up straight, but I drank so much alcohol that by the time I was half way through the roster people quit because I was still winning and they haven't even felt a buzz yet. We ran out of liquor that day. Point is I love fighting games so I for years hoped that we would get a solid fighting game either like a 2d styles Street Fighter or a 2.5d style in the styles of Tekken or Bloody Roar. Instead we got Pokken. So I'm sure you would ask "what is wrong with the game. I like it." and that is just fine. You can like whatever you want and we can again have different opinions. Hell even if you like a thing people think is bad or a guilty pleasure that's also fine. I love infomercials and they are stupid as hell. You are allowed to like bad things. Let's be honest though. Pokken even if a good game does have flaws. It's not perfect by far and in those flaws I find that I don't for its own merits actually like the game. This again does not make it bad. Here are the things I find bad with the game in no particular order. Fights are too short I hate the switch style of fighting and it tends to make certain characters like machamp unrealistic in that he now needs a ranged attack like everyone else thus he becomes like everyone else. This is bad because you have no choice when it'll switch styles as it sometimes happens randomly (or so I assume, it has been a hot minute since I played but I'm pretty positive it happened without me "triggering anything) It's all style and no real substance. It looks pretty but it is kind of just a flash in the pan when you've seen all the moves over and over and over again. As stated before, all the characters are pretty much the same. What I mean by that is all have a long ranged move and basically feel the same. Yes there is some rock
paper scissors but when machamp needs a long ranged move and you just make it punches then it feels more tacked on and the characters don't really shine much. The roster looks alright at best but since there are 2 mewtwos and 2 pikachus it just feels lack luster. Also the dog and the chandelier don't seem to fit. The little support Pokemon don't seem like they add that much. Lastly and the most important part is that the game seems to lack real actual depth like Pokemon games do. That's the real problem for me. You have the biggest franchise in the world and finally make the biggest spin off for it and you make it lack substance? You might be thinking "well what would you do to make the game better?" and I'm glad you hypothetically asked in this scenario I just made up and forced upon you. There are 2 ways to make a good Pokemon fighting game. One is a rip off and the other is my own creation so to speak. The first is simple. Just make another smash. Make the Kanto region its own smash areas with instead of pokeballs and items and so on (you could cut down on all the extra stuff) and focus on making a pokemon with its own move sets. You could give them each their own moves and just make them fight like they would in smash. Is it a unique game? No, but the roster would be gigantic and it would look dope having a person fight as magikarp against a giant group of people. Also think of the amount of Amiibos they could make. The game wouldn't end there. It would get DLC for each region with new pokemon every time. The problem with this is the roster would be 1000 large and counting. So making this, as fun as it would be, seems unrealistic. So let's instead go with my idea. My idea is more or less the same as the actual game but with fighting in it. What that means is you would take every main important mechanic and throw it into this game. Then you would take the game and make it into a fighting game with those mechanics. Let's start small. First we need a story to get the game rolling right? Let's make it simple. It is a fighting tournament where fighting types can come together and fight in the arena. You know, like the episode of where Ash had primeape fight a bunch of dudes. Instead of in general fighting in a ring, they would have a stage where fights would be held. The story is this is where whoever shows up wants to be the best. Let's say each character is going to also be it's own "person" with it's own personality. That way we can have entry comments when they start the fight because they are talking to each other. You can make rivalries happen, you can also in general say these are the best fighters of their kinds. You have options to make this into a grander stage than the original did by making this the first ever tournament of its kind. That's the setting but we need a roster to fill the game out. So the game could start small in that it generally would have a roster specifically of only fighting types. This means that at most we would if only using final evolutions have without different forms, and megas about 32 different characters. Suddenly we now have a larger roster compared to the actual one we got. sure it is only fighting types but if we only have fighting types no one can complain about not getting their favorite. However, I'm not gonna lie, the roster looks like it lacks main villains and leaving out legends kind of ruins the whole every fighting type and lastly, with what happened to dexit I'm sure people would be mad if they can't use megas as well. So let's instead change that roster to have EVERY single fighting type in the game. (only last evolutions though. Don't need no babies and first forms in here) Now we have a total of 52. Let's also say for fairness sakes that some characters have non fighting forms. Let's add those in if they are before a mega evolution changes them. That's 3 more for a total of 55 in the roster. Now let's also have to force a couple more in there for "reasons" such as it is Pikachu who has to be in every single game. So now it is 56 total and since in general
arceus can every type the roster would be a total of 57 characters at the end of the entire thing. That puts the current roster to shame. Sure we miss out on fan favorites but in the end 57 unique characters? That is one hell of a difference. Yeah they are all fighting types but still. It is 100% better than what we currently have. Also this can be done. There are fighting games with over 60 characters and I'm not talking about a roster of "forms" like in dragonball z games where you can change your move set that is basically the same as other peoples. I'm talking about games such as smash with 58, tekken tag tournament 2 with 59, mortal kombat armageddion with 62, def jam fight for ny with 72, naruto ultimate ninja storm with 119. Suddenly you're up there with the big boys. (at least numbers wise) Some people might say that the game would probably have bad graphics and to that I say it has a simply solution. Make the game 2d. Many people would probably say that the best thing about Pokken is that it looks "tight as fuck" or something in that regard but we all know that 3d doesn't make everything better. Old school Street fighter games look pretty good with smooth animations and also fantastic backgrounds and a lot like anime compared to now which just doesn't look the same. Good in its own ways but different. You can have more things in a game with less "graphics" while looking super great while doing so. It wouldn't lessen the game and would make future versions of the game able to add more into the game as well. It would also add for many more things to be added as well. Which is really good since in general the game is supposed to be deep and not taking the game to look amazing means you can add more into it and allow for more cool things. Let's not get into the nitty gritty just yet because there are a few things I'd like to add. Let's take a step back to the roster. Let's say that they started off with just the first gen leading us to have a total of 9 different characters on the roster. That's not bad. This leaves us open to a ton of DLC and also alternate "costumes" to make our characters look better and more in line with who they want to be. The rosters itself would also have 9 unique characters with different strengths and weaknesses compared to a generic roster who is small but also kind of the same. You could also allow for a stage for every single type to shine through aesthetically. Sure we got some nice looking stages but imagine if we had one based on each type. A normal stage on a beach where it is sandy and has a nice tropical sunny feel to it. The only thing that would make that better is if the beach had some interaction to it. What matters in the game is the style of play. Pokken allows for arena battles as well as side to side battles. Both are fine but would make you have to specifically have one main style of art and dimensions. I think that side to side is better in 2d while arena I believe can only be in 3d. This to me means that we would have a side to side fighter but if for example we did get a 3d arena match then we would get hazards on the field. There was a play at doing so in the actual game where there would be spots where vines and other explosions pop up from the ground but imagine an actual 3d arena where you can get thrown into trees, or walk on hot lava spots or something akin to that. Imagine all the actual things you can do with moves such as spikes, or actual entry hazards. The game would take on more depth and allow for cooler fights. Even then having things in 2d isn't that bad. Having the ability to actually fight in a beautiful place with the character you want there allows for better visuals. The real shame is we could have gotten a battle area for every single type of Pokemon as well as a call back to the ???? typing where it would randomly choose a place to fight. This is all visual things that would make the game pretty but the real depth of it comes from how the game is constructed. That is by it being like actual normal main stream games. So what does it mean to
be a main stream game? Let's quantify to some degree what Pokemon is. It's a jrpg with the largest party roster ever. It's a simple one on one battle style but in essence you got the fighter, the ninja, the mage, and probably a few other things. They just sometimes look like eggs or a dinosaur. Either way roster is huge. The second thing is the simplicity of type matchess and even added abilities. Stats are also a part of the game while equipment and moves that you can customize out of a set list are also there. Personalities and breeding make their way into the game. There are so many things that you can do with normal Pokemon that just allows for the most unique playthrough of the game in any way you want and matches against real people have strategies and styles you might not find everywhere else. That is unless you're not playing random children and are playing adults who use the same stuff over and over except that one guy who used pachirisu but that guy is a maverick. So how would all this work? Simple. Just do the stuff they already do. Let's look at Pokken itself real quick. You have the attack and defense stats that in general make you deal or take less damage. You have your ultimate gauge and your support gauge. Pretty lack luster stuff seeing as we get more in the regular stats of Pokemon compared to it. We have special and regular attack. Special and regular defense. Speed and Lastly HP. That's where Pokken ends in customization. Lackluster in comparison as well when you look at all the stuff you can do in regular Pokemon to build a bond with it. So how do we build into the ultimate experience that we never got but wanted? Easily. Again just do like the game. Pokemon has a couple things that it does for you to customize your single little buddy to take on anyone. Let's look at those things. You have levels, types, items, breeding, evs/ivs, abilities, unique movesets, specific stats. That doesn't seem like much but having 8 different things to do with their own large amount of things is huge. To start with lets go with levels. Levels will be exactly that. They will increase the more you use a specific Pokemon. Not to say that the character would change and then have you start at a lower level, but in general you have the 100 levels and the stats on the character would grow to be that of what you finally get. You would also in PVP be matched up to an enemy of an equal level since you would have played that character and at least that long for that level to exist on the character you are using. This means that stats would also come into play. Stats would act like they normally do however moves would dictate that thing. Normal attacks would work with attack strength while special moves that you add onto your character would use the special stat. Not moves that are special attacks but any and every move. So extreme speed and thunderbolt would both use the special stat while a normal punch or kick would be your attack. This would make moves matter and make you want to make the move set how you would like it. Moves and customized move sets would be next on the list. This would allow for you to actually help your character and yeah this would mean that some characters are more optimal in some ways. If you wanted a move based machamp over an attacker than you have the choice and sure, some characters would be horrible with special attack but in the end all moves are special and would allow certain characters who are long range attackers such as Sirfetch'd who has a sword have to get closer to a machamp who uses focus blast to hit. This would allow for actual move customization too so that things such as toxicroak who uses poison moves to really shine since if we are making the moves than we would in general also wanna add the typings into the game as well. Types would allow for certain Pokemon to shine through more. Yes ghost fighting types would be busted, but thankfully there is only one and that would mean that you would want some anti ghost stuff on your character or it would make for you to have to actually
do normal attacks with a special attacker as they are even if named normal attacks not normal type. As in regular punches and kicks. Things like typing would also come into effect because that means the moves would be of the type and you can get added bonuses such as poisoning people and flinching and so on. Which means that abilities would be handy to fight certain people. If you play toxicroak then you are going to poison people with poison point. Which would go back to typing as an important thing since lucario is part steel. You could slow the opponent with electric moves. You could flinch enemies and so on. You have so many abilities to disrupt the enemy. This will make people go and make a huge deal on trying to perfect their roster of dudes they like to not only get skilled at them but also in general make them better. This is good because items and breeding are going to be a thing in the game. If ev's and iv's are in the game with breeding then that means you can actively max out a pokemon in ways you like. You can get points by winning fights and throw them onto a pokemon and just have like levels unlocked points for that pokemon. That way when you get good stuff for the process of breeding a new version of the character you get it in a way that actually benefits you when you choose a new nature and instead of having to grind even more each time you can just in general work hard while reasonably doing so. How would you get these items? That's simple. Either through constant grind which you are already doing or through mini games. Like the ones they had back in Pokemon stadium. People have wanted those again for such a long time. Even if they are small ones where it is training based it would be something fun to do to set off the monotony of grinding a better character all the time. So since everything is unique in that way how would the roster themselves work? It's big and it seems like we wouldn't be able to make them all 100% unique and as true as that is there is one thing to set them apart like you would in a normal fighting game compared to what it seems Pokken does. EVERY POKEMON HAS A UNIQUE FIGHTING STYLE BECAUSE THEY ARE FIGHTING TYPES. If we looked at the roster some of them are going to be in general a little strange but take it from the guy who is passionate about this idea that I can in some ways write down a style for each of them and that's just what I'm gonna do. Pikachu - Let's get the first and most obvious one out of the way and the most blatant problem in the only fighting type roster. Let's just say Pikachu libre was raised by some fighting types. Hawlucha to be exact and it got let in as an honorary member. It would be a fast attacker and have some good jump attacks. Primeape - A berserker style fighter who attacks very well but lacks real use of the special moves. It can still do them, but it may be open to failing. Like the trip mechanic in Smash cause fuck you it's funny. Poliwrath - A heavy hitter who does big attacks. Poliwrath doesn't have a style so much is just a big beefy dude. Would probably make him a little better at doing specials because of his lack of finesse and real inability to kick well. Machamp - Based on body builders and "able to know every fighting style" kinda makes machamp a little bit of an "eh" choice. Instead of making him fully aggressive and E Honda someone with 1000 punches we could also make him have special button inputs to pose and get power ups. This would make him actually stronger on specials if you wanted to do a special attacker or something else of the like. Hitmonlee - A kick boxer style where he would hardly use his hands. He would still be able to do special moves like the punches but in general this would mostly mean he would just kick normally and have extra blocks with his arms. Hitmonchan - If they can make steve fox do dodges with his feet then they can make hitmonchan the exact same way. Galarian Zapdos - Look, it's stupid that it is a fighting type but it is what it is. So let's just roll with it and say he does a lot of kicks.
Like can't really punch but would use his beak for pecks. They wouldn't be flying attacks but in general would allow for a little long range. Mewtwo - Our first non fighting type (not pikachu) to hit the scene and a real boss. See as much as Zapdos is a boss, Mewtwo would also in general be like the larger boss at the end. A real contender for difficult since his stats would push him a little over. The real threat is when you look at his mega form which would not require an item on the boss in the game and would allow him to not be stopped from this form. He also has a different move set meaning he is just in general a different fighter as well. You could also have it to where they don't even need the players to need to mega evolve and they just choose him. Heracross - This would be a little tricky as beetles generally just fling their enemy. He would probably have moves that did that while also being able to grapple well. His mega form would allow him to hit better like he normally does with multi hit moves and would probably have a better grab based move set. Hitmontop - Being short is its own special thing since he would be harder to hit with high attacks but he also has capoera style. Blaziken - Blaziken seems like it would be another strong boss in that it literally gets faster as the battle goes on and his mega does the same thing. It also has muay thai style fighting. Breloom - It's literally a kangaroo. It punches, it kickes really hard with its tail as support. It's a kangaroo. Hariyama - Besides Ehonda strikes it is also a sumo wrestler. So throws would be a thing it can do. Medicham - One of the more difficult to place styles. Its mega form would allow for also easy punch combos but I think this would be one of the more wonky styles of fighting. Each fighting game has a yoshimitsu style of fighter and I'm sure this would be it. Infernape - Monkey style kung fu. Loppuny - Loppuny is strange in that it is not a fighter. So it should have a generic not that strong looking style of fighting but when it mega evolves it learns Tai Bo and generic defense class style. Lucario - Also strange to place but could have something like Tai Chi or something of the like. Toxicroak - A dirty fighter and probably like that of a yakuza. Gallade - Would be really good at counters and uses a gentlemans style of fighting. Arceus - I don't know man, it's a horse. The people making the game would figure it out. Just steal the horse style from the JOJO fighting game or something. Emboar - Based on chinese symbols and also wrestling. This could be a grappler as well with a greco roman style and theme. Conkeldurr - This would have range over most of the others as well as strength, it would be slow moving but could swing fast. It also uses centripital force. Throh - It knows judo and would be good at grapples and blocks. Sawk - It knows karate and would be really good at strikes and counters. Scrafty - Would use headbutts and kicks. Nothing other than what it says since inner city youth generally don't have a fighting style. Mienshao - Shaolin style kung fu. Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion - Each would have the same style of fighting. The difference being is Cobalion would have average speed and attack while terrakion and virizion would be slower or faster while weaker and stronger. Keldeo - Would have a style like the others but with some variations to it. It would be kind of bad in comparison as it is not as old and skilled but it's resolute form would make the style come together and make it better. Meloetta - Would have a buff system like Machamp but could also change style to allow it to do better at fighting but lose the ability to make buffs Chesnaught - It's a noble knight. Give it a graceful style that doesn't fit its huge armor or make it a power house. The choices are up to the developer at that point. Pangoro - Big punches and wild swings. Like Poliwrath but handles different. Hawlucha - Luchadore style wrestling, but has a high jump allowing for aerial attacks. Crabominable - Just punches. It
can't do anything else but it should have strong hard to stop punches. Bewear - Based on bear wrestling and bear hugs. It is your modern wrestler. Since we won't have incineroar in the game this would be the closest we get to WWE style of wrestling. Passimian - Tackles and moving. It's a football player. What else would it do? Kommo-o - Honestly this one eludes me since it just is a fighting type and I don't think it was inspired type wise by anything. Buzzwole - Just like Pangoro and Poliwrath. Would just be a big buff fighter. Pheromosa - Would be a kick fighter like Jenny from Bloody Roar 3. Marshadow - Since it mimics it would just be the random fighter each time. Grapploct - A grappler. Sirfetch'd - Uses his spear/sword for doing long range styles of poke. Shield would help block better. Also is small. Falinks - What could it do? I have no idea. Zamazenta - It has a normal non shield form, and it has a shield form. It could be slower in non shield mode but also when in shield mode be harder to hurt. Urshifu - Urshifu has 2 forms. One which would be single strike which is precise and accurate trying to end the fight in as few hits as possible meaning dealing more damage or something like that while rapid strike form could just be an unending combo like Maxi does in Soul Calibur 2. The real thing to know is that in general certain pokemon could have unique abilities not explained. Such as better blocks where they take less damage to no damage compared to other fighters or even more damage even if at the same number or other things like that, This would also make the boss battles more unique. That's mostly how the game would be made. At the end of the day we lost out on what could be the most deep fighter ever made. What saddens me more is that had we gotten this game it would have probably made Nintendo do better with their online services. Either way we will never know what truly could have been.

Kingdom Hearts 3 broke my heart.
I am a fan of Kingdom Hearts. i've been here through the first game and even though I grew up without the money to play every game I stuck with the series as best I could. In fact I've bought multiple copies of games on multiple systems and beat a couple of the games not just once but 3 or more times. Here is a list of the things I've done involving this series.
1: I bought KH1/2/COM on more than one system such as ps2,3, and 4. 2: I've played and beaten on the hardest difficulty on each main installment (except critical mode of 3) 3: I have 100% KH1 which might not seem like a big deal but it is the only game I have 100% ever. Got all the trophies and so on. 4: I stuck with the story and even recently before 3 came out played and beat most of the games. (except DDD since it wasn't my kind of deal since I don't like the flowmotion part of the combat.)
You could say I'm a fan of the games and have done what I can to in general keep up with the series as well as have enjoyed the series.
But then 3 came out and I was just not happy with it. After waiting for so long and playing the game and screaming and ranting about certain plot points that just don't make sense to me (KH is notoriously hard to keep up with plot wise and I am just not the brightest person in the world when it comes to shit. Like I really need some things explained outright for me and to some degree do not mind spoilers for some things) I swore off KH the entirety from now on cause it was just that bad of a game for me. It wasn't a horrible game but the direction they started taking it in was just so far removed from what the original 2 games in the numerical series were that this was just NOT Kingdom Hearts at all. Sure you can say it is a love letter to the biggest of fans but I can say that a letter to regular fans was something it needed to do more than cater to such a rabid fanbase compared to a regular fanbase. I thought this was unfair and then bought Memory of Melody. That is now the worst game in the series to me. So I dived into what people thought and looked at a ton of youtubers who played the game and saw what they thought. I looked at reviews of non youtubers and read what they thought and the game has made the fanbase more divided than anything I'd ever seen from a fanbase. So I replayed the game with the intent to write down all I felt on the game to give it a fair review. Like I said I'm a filthy casual and I can give stuff a large break when it comes to media and have a large understanding of what that thing is meant to be. Sometimes a product is meant to be a certain way and we have to enjoy it for what it is and I can try and do that. I mean I love the WWE and Yugioh and anyone who is a part of those fanbases knows in their hearts (kek hearts) how bad those things can be at times. So I played the game and wrote down all the thoughts I had on it and Some might be easy to explain while others are in general probably at least fair on how I feel about it.
Kingdom Hearts is a series not meant for the new comer. It knows what it wants to be and does that thing. It isn't here to make everyone happy and that is just absolutely fine in general. I've been a fan and it makes me happy that the game is one long story that I can appreciate and make call backs to in stuff. I remember being so rewarded when I looked at my then best friend who skipped over chain of memories (I had to emulate it but I think it was fair of me to do so since I bought the game 3 times since now that I have the money to do so) and said he knew what happened because he saw the cutscene of Sora reaching the top and Namine betraying him by putting him into a pod. I laughed at him cause he was a fool who knew nothing of how the story went cause he foolishly just thought he didn't NEED to play the game. This made me more invested into the series than he was. I stuck with the series reading up articles and even watching videos on the series for stuff I missed out on since again i couldn't afford everything. They were building a story over a decade long and at the end it just didn't do it for me. It's not that the story wasn't the end of the series in general. Heck gotta make dat' money Y'all but in general this was the end of a saga for Xehanort and it just didn't cut it. But maybe I'm not starting at the right spot to give my feelings on it. Maybe I'm coming fresh off a game play and feeling a rant building for multiple reasons. So let me start with the positives before I bury the list under a pile of problems for me.
So I'll be putting things in order of good, mixed, bad. They will be somewhat fair and if they have an answer you have my sincerest apologies but remember I'm slightly the "dumb" and would in general like to just get simple straight answers. Something simple and clean if you would. On that note
1: The starting song is a god damned banger - Face my fears is up there with sanctuary which is better than Simple and clean. To be fair though simple and clean was made in like a flight and pretty much is nonsensical to the game in general. However it is a good song. How could it not be with one of japans best pop artists? Have you heard sakura drops? Colors? Traveling? Apples and cinnamon? Fuck man this song is just really good. 2: The game looks great - Sure the game might not look like ps2 graphics anymore but this isn't a bad thing it just is a different thing. The only time I thought it looked bad was during the pirates area where they had to make real people. Sometimes it is better to have a different art theme and even if something is just ok at best during it it can still be over all great. Everyone looked good during it. It just in general looked like a new version of KH entirely. 3: You can power up keyblades - One of the best parts of the game is powering up keyblades. Now sure mickey saying "we should have powered up our keyblades" is a stupid line in general when they are magic items and not fully meant to break form normal stuff but i think the ability to latch onto a key and make that sucker your main key is a great idea. Finally I can power up keys like sweet memories or the kingdom key and go through the cutscenes with the keyblade never changing and it look like it's meant to be there. 4: The whole getting treasure for sinking ships - Even if in general people might not like the ship combat the idea of being a pirate and stealing treasure from a ship when you sink one of the large ones is one of the best thematical ideas in the game. You can just sail the ocean and just pirate ship for loot if you wanted to and since you get xp during it and get your ship to be better it just is a great idea in its entirety. 5: Rikus keyblade - That is one of the better keyblades. I'm not gonna lie but the final fantasy cloud based keyblades where they are more realistic have been one of my favorite designs and I am sad i can't throw it on sora. I like the idea of an actual blade instead of a blunt weapon in the game since it just feels cooler sometimes. Riku getting a keyblade that not only looks more like a sword but is also still a key for a more modern car is one of the cooler things they have ever put in. 6: The call back to union cross players - This was a little lover note to people who played the game. They grabbed a ton of names and threw them in as you threw hundreds of keyblades at the giant heartless storm mob thing. I think it is great and even if I didn't play one of the names that pops up is my actual name so I find that pretty cool whenever I see it.
And that is it. Those are the best parts of KH3 to me. Everything else is either a mixed bag or just not good. I'm sure you can tell which one has more in it. As for the stuff that is in the middle of both good and bad let me make it clear that some stuff that is bad will probably be talked about in the bad section because it needs its own commentary.
1: All the party members - I always was a little sad having to remove one of the characters in my party to add the one new person they wanted to add in and was always sad at that limitation but with 3 you can now have ALL THE MEMBERS. This is great because now I have access to all of my forms with donal...... Oh right, they're not in the game anymore. 2: Nice to one and done an area - Back in the day when I first played the original first game I never went back cause I beat the level and thought it was extra stuff. When I got older and playued through 2 I was a little impatient and just didn't want to keep going back. Now as I am older and wiser and more patient I just do the thing cause it's a part of the game and deal. Thankfully it is all in one trip which is good CAUSE I DON'T WANNA FUCKING PLAY THESE LEVELS EVER AGAIN. 3: I'm gonna say it and people are gonna question me (probably not I'm not a large content creator thus people probably don't care about my opinion so strange of you to be here reading this) but I fucking hate winnie the pooh. I don't like him as a person and I'm just not a fan of his entire world. I only like Eeyore and not cause "gosh that's how I feel" Eeyore is the fucking man. He never lets his bad mood get him down and he powers through even when life is shit. Good for him man. Love that guy. Such a trooper. I just don't like pooh but the levels. God Kingdom Hearts mini games are just mostly not fun in general so not having to play so many mini games in poohs level is fantastic. EXCEPT EVERY WORLD HAS A DAMNED MINI GAME IN IT. 4: Speaking of mini games the ship combat is fine. - It's just, fine. 5: I had so much money - I don't remember playing any other game having so much money. I remember caring and investing and even trying to get money to spend on stuff in some points and in here it just.... I never spent it until i got bored and started using food. I didn't use food until the last world and beyond cause I wanted to finish the game faster. I mean the change of pace having money is nice but there was nothing really to do with it. Maybe I should have bought Hayner, Pence and Olette a ton of pretzels with it. 6: Playing as any other keyblade wielder - Man this was one of those great moments that I was excited to do. Having played as many other characters during other games was always nice and refreshing and being able to do so here was great. It got me excited to play as Mickey again since I got to use him a few times in KH2 or to be able to use Ventus or Aqua again cause they were gonna be saved and be able to fight in the upcoming battle. That is you know. If they are used in the game more than one time each. 7: Giant heartless battle - One of the best moments in the game was the "goofy just died" moment. Not because The goof man "died" but because you got to solo fight a crowd of enemies and in this game it was so cool to have that call back. The shit icing on that beautiful cake was having to use the train to win. Like it just felt like I was making no progress and I can't on my own fight the enemies and no matter how hard you try you can never stop the enemies ever. 8: The what if scenario - The group dying was pretty cool and was a great what if but would have been better if they didn't come back to the past and have Ventus run up and think it was Terra again. It was cool for the lingering will to step in and help but even then the whole situation was so stupid that it could have been written better. What if instead of doing the whole scenario it was a mind fuckery to sora to put him down mentally like they had been trying to entire game. What if it showed him losing and that it was possible? Instead we got this long winded scenario where people didn't learn from their first mistake and tried to go run up to Terra when in that moment Aqua when Ven tried going should have grabbed his shoulder and said "you know it's not him so let's just get ready to fight"
Those are the mixed bag moments I was commenting on. Some things are fine and aren't really an issue except the are a part of a bigger problem in itself which makes them a mixed bag. The last part's I'll be writing about are pretty much a giant rant or asking questions to things. There are problematic points I'll be making as well. So now let's look at the bad stuff in KH3. However, before I get into it, I want to also write down the not as bad stuff as well as some of the really big stuff so I'll make sure to point out when it is a gripe that isn't the worst thing in the world compared to it actually being not good.
1: Nitpick/The social media is dumb - Look I'm not much of a social media person and I know todays kids and teens are all about that jazz and such but man this part of the game is pretty dumb. I am in no way too old to "get hip with it grandpa" and think social media is a bad thing. Times and things change but WHY IS THIS A THING? Sora and friends are out saving the world and probably do not know about current phones since they are so busy. They would be like really old people trying to catch up with todays world and just in general should not have time enough to do it. Sure giving a phone is fine which whatever they can just add in ways to contact which again makes the phone fine but social media is dumb. What platform are they on? Who is following them? What world is this being sent to in general? Does anyone really care?
2: Nitpick/Why 7 VS 13? - I think the number is just really off. Ok look the original organization 13 was fine. Having 14 members in it wasn't a big deal and sure fighting them seperately and not all in one game made me a little sad until final mix came out but at least i got to fight Marluxia in all his pretty boy glory. The point I make is they just seem to have stuck with the 13 which is fine I guess? It just seemed like it was more or less there for no real reason. Sure we would have to fight every single Xehanort around such as Ansem, Xemnas, Terranort, Xigbar who works with old man Xehanort, Young Xehanort, Old man Xehanort. If you also in general wanted him to have each good guy fight a bad guy we would need one for each single keyblade wielder to come out. So let's say Kairi and Axel were just gonna join in so we can have for whatever reason Xion and Roxas just pop out to fight people. We would have need for a total of 7 enemies to fight. Let's just use these guys here as people for people to fight. We can have terranort fight someone before he comes back as lingering will to fight and get his body back. We can have Kairi fight Xion until she defects in general and fights another person with her. We can have axel fight Xemnas so he can get revenge and then have him lose and Roxas can come out. So on and so forth until we have just enough for each person to be matched with another person. You wouldn't need to stretch and find whatever you can and just fill the numbers. You could have at that point just filled it with villains you knew you wanted on your team. Not just bring back generic dudes who don't even need to be here. I'll get more into that in a moment but the numbers just seem off and could have been anything not 7 v 13 but like I said. Nitpick.
3: The plot of Sora flying around this time is a little weak. - So Sora lost his powers and needs to get them back. So he fucks off for a bit until he can regain the powers. Wouldn't it be better if he also trained with Kairi and Axel? What about just going into the realm of darkness to help the others get Aqua? What if instead of just going back and forth to each Disney world like he normally did he in general just.....trained. See the point of the other games was "close the keyholes of the world so heartless stop getting in. Stop those nobodies from opening Kindom Hearts." Kind like saving the world is a great motivation to have compared to "fuck off until you are good or something". It's one of the biggest issues in general. Now if he was told something more substantial than "you need the power of waking" than it would have made the grind through much better. Add in a new plot element for him to need to travel to lands in general so he can earn the power of waking. Send him to places to get that shit instead of "get stronger". You think I can't just do that shit with story? Shit's boring man lemme do stuff.
4: You cannot turn off attractions - That is without playing critical mode. Man Attractions are in general one of the worst parts of the game. Sure I find it hilarious when I'm fighting an important boss (such as Xemnas) and I last hit him with a merry go round but in general they just suck. They aren't fun and they slow the games combat down with a cinematic. Sure they can be "avoided" and I "don't have to use them" but they exist in the game. They are the creators vision and he wants you to use them. If they didn't want it to be a huge part of the games combat system they wouldn't add it in and the fact that it shows up so often just kinda proves they want you to use the thing. Combat in here is very floaty if you haven't noticed and a more grounded approach is sometimes best. This is what the attractions do since they still try and attack you thus getting closer to the attraction in the first place. It's really a jarring object. Telling me not to use it while having the chance to actually accidentally press the button is frustrating. It's the smaller version of telling someone don't be mad when they are mad or try not to be depressed. It's hard to avoid and the answer isn't just "don't do it." Especially when the game puts in abilities to make them more prominent such as extending the time on them. Another point on this is that if the developer wanted them to be optional they wouldn't sometimes be mandatory or even show up during boss fights. Either this was an added on horse shit thing where Disney was like "add attractions or we're done" or Nomura just was like "i recently went to disney land and you gotta put this in it's dope". Joke aside it is one of the worst parts of the game since I can't turn them off and it is hard to get around them. Let me turn them off fully or let them be used as an ability where you can add them in if you want it. Customization should be more of a thing than a gimmick you keep getting. Also they show up so often and I believe in every enemy spawn group. Multiple times even if you miss it the first time. Having so much prominence placed onto this one mechanic just shows they went in hard on it and sure if it was just the rock titan or just the horde of heartless at the end or maybe even rare I wouldn't find it much of a problem but it is EVERY FREAKING COMBAT. I hit that button on accident more times than I wanted to that in general I was trying to use a spell but I missed it by seconds or something and the carnival ride started up and I just said "god dammit" and had to end it dealing a burst of damage since you can't just stop it, it has to go full swing. Also only in critical mode is kind of bullshit. Add it to every mode in the game and it'll be less of an issue.
5: Nitpick/Sora is an idiot - Look I don't mean the whole "he's so stupid now he just is always happy or has dumb dialogue" I mean the idiot tried to touch fire and instead of water magic which he now has and I spammed on the fire balls he walked up to a freaking inferno of flames and just tried to see if it was hot by touching it with his bare hands. Shit Sora you dumb fuck Goofy had a better idea than the mage and the main character and he's not always the brightest. Fuck you.
6: There is too much stuff in this game - Way too many mechanics and most of them are on forever. You have so much you can do such as the shotlock, Flowmotion, Carnival rides, Extra forms, Summoning the fat cat dream pokemon, so many mini games,  just so much shit and I'm sure I forgot something. Now look I can let go of the whole "cat" thing because it is a summon and those are normal but in general it just feels like the entire game was overloaded with everything from every other game EXCEPT for cards and if we don't have cards for character upgrades or something it feels like a waste. (that's a joke) The point is that there is too much stuff and it's all filler and fluff and we can just have a nice game without 10,000 things to learn in the first section of the game.
7: Nitpick/ I think the selfies are just dumb - I've taken a total of maybe 5 selfies. All of which are to show a single person in that specific moment. Selfies don't really do much in the world we play in for KH3 and I just think it is in general a dumb game mechanic. However it is not required to do so it's not a big deal to have in. Just another nitpick.
8: Food and cooking - Look, this is not monster hunter. This is not another game where food is an important detail and sure I don't mind the addition of it if you really wanna put it in but it does make the game easier when used. In that direction fine making a game easier isn't a bad thing, however, constantly telling me now is a good time to find ingredients for little chef is annoying every time. I could figure it out if I really wanted it but in general since it is an optional mechanic to which I can just buy the parts for it and even the food at a kupo shop than what is the point in adding in the game play mechanics for it? The mini games are dumb and take too long to do for such a small mini game. Crack and egg get soup. Nothing else but crack an egg. So than the game is too short for a mechanic I'm supposed to do often? Why not add in a larger game so that I can help him create the object one time to see if he likes it and then when he adds it on I can order the object from him. Don't add it into the kupo store if I you want me to make it and don't make me make it be so tedious if you want me to make it. Also why is sora cooking at all? It's Remys passion not mine. He's even shown to run a packed restaurant all on his own at the end of the game in the credits scene.
9: More customization please - Here's a major issue I have with the game. There is less customization compared to other games. This is strange as in general it seems to be the same. The problem is this. I have to use flowmotion in the game. It is not an option because in certain levels it is a legitimate requirement to use for moving elsas castle. It is required in a couple other places as well but the point still stands. I need to have them equipped in order to make progress. The fact that in KH2 I could turn off big moves from team members but cannot now takes the agency away from me from making my fighting style more what I want to do. This means in order for me to really enjoy the game I have to really accept mechanics I was not a fan of in DDD. Maybe having an option for character customization such as turning off forms, and what special attacks you wanna do would be nice instead of giving everything under the sun. Do I want to be a fast mobile fighter? Than make that a character level abiliy choice instead of just making me have it from the start and also making it mandatory for levels. Allow me to remove the big moves with my team and stop making them always on since I never liked them. Sure I can ignore them but it comes down to the same thing as the attractions. Sometimes you cannot avoid hitting the wrong thing. This also goes into the whole magic sucking ass in this game. Every spell is offensive and thus it just feels like it is the same. Wanna do a little small thing with some damage? Wanna do massive damage comparatively? It just feels like they wanted to simplify the whole having a summon, having a spell, having 2 items on or something along those lines. This stops you from having more options on your character and just stream lines you in to a generic build. I didn't use ice once past the first time finding out its pretty much a fire ball. I used cure, fire, water, thunder. Thunder for crowds, fire for damage, water for crowds also because I just stopped caring and cura cause I heal all my damage cause DONALD NEVER HEALS YOU. WE'RE 4000 GAMES IN MAKE DONALD HEAL BETTER. This again comes back to the limits. Let me turn them off since I do not like them. If they worked as magic they would be better cause the magic sucks ass in the game. I mostly after a while stopped doing any real care in magic and just used healing. This also comes back to the original abilities in second form that you can unlock via smacking them with your keyblade. They would be nice since the magic in the game again sucks ass so having something to use magic bar that is not cure would be a nice touch.
10: For a guy who lost his powers I sure have a ton of abilities right away - Remember when in the beginning of each game you lost all your powers and had to slowly unlock everything and it would come to you not just willy nilly? Man those were the days. Could earn powers for reasons. I'm not helpless in the game if I can run up mountains or sky scrapers. If I can glide with the shotlock from one spot to another. I'm too strong if anything at the start and it just makes you feel like the game is padding time before the small amount of story at the end that matters. This could have literally been with the final chapter prologue and it would have worked fine. But no, we didn't get that. That leads into us just spending time until something happens. The story has its own issues (which I will touch up on near the end) and it has some really bad pacing issues. There is bad pacing, and then there is bad writing because of bad pacing. Why not put some shit in the middle. Show I'm getting better instead of just having me just do everything all at once.  That's not really an issue if they space parts of it in or let me play as the other characters while sora is fucking off for power. Imagine if they added in more parts with Riku while Sora quests for strength. Imagine us going through the land of darkness instead of just Disney world after Disney world. Imagine what we could have had had it not just been all the Disney stuff then the finale all at once. It wasn't bad pacing for the end to pick up, it was bad pacing for there to be nothing in the middle. This is where the final fantasy characters could have been nice. Adding in the end of the Cloud and Sephiroth stuff so we can fight for more power there. Having us talk with Leon and the gang while they battle with some heartless just in the area and needing help. This would have made better pacing since it would have cut the monotony of the Disney grind. There are times when you just sit there waiting for stuff to happen as you run through world after world waiting for plot in general to just move forward. This does not mean it is bad pacing, this just means there is nothing important going on and leads to the story just falling short of being gripping and engaging. I again bring up the final fantasy characters because let's face it, if they did exist it would give something in general more time to flesh out. There is nothing to do but repeated disney movies that either play out like normal or that you play no real part in since it is after the story in the whole movie. Sure it was great to see what happened with boo and the monsters but Randall just is there and I'm sure he was gone at the end of the first movie. In fact after using my Disney plus account (#notsponsored) to just hit the end of the movie it shows him in a trailer getting beat with a shovel. He probably got back but still.
11: The combat is too "floaty" - I'm in the sky like fucking constantly man. Like all the time. Which is a bad thing since the fucking god damned level creation is now just a tall hallway. See I say tallway (patent pending) beause the level of the game is still pretty small but now it just also goes up a long way. I know this because there are so many flashing walls that there should be seizure warnings in the beginning of the game. It doesn't stop either since in general you have to climb high and doing so brings you ledges and if you have to hit people flying then you are gonna fall. Sure we can use magic but magic runs out and is complete ass. Now look this isn't just me saying it can happen since it does right in the hercules area. The first area where they could have been testing thing and probably did which means someone dealt with this shit and said it was fine enough to pass. That's just bad game mechanics right there. If you want me to be floaty in combat that do not put ledges I can fall down in your game. I do not want to climb all the way back to the top just to get into more fights I might fall down because of. Maybe make the parts I'm on bigger platforms. It just seems they want us to use the attractions because you can't fall off the safe attractions. Another thing is that it isn't just combat that is "floaty" but your movement is also a little too fast. Making larger areas and then making us speed up into a sprint is fine but having me stop right next to a save spot inches too short of touching it only for me to Vroom Vroom right over it because of how fast and far I move is god damned infuriating. It also continues combat wise as an issue in that once you get the ability to knock people up you start going into air combat and smacking them away and you can do that so much since in general the areas you fight in are so large that you can knock a single heartless out of the spawning area enough that you have to run back to fight it.
12: Proud mode is a fucking joke - I think I died a total of one time in proud mode which is probably more than others. See the difficulty has been said to be really easy on this games play through and I'm inclined to believe them. Here is the thing. I know critical mode now exists. I just don't like it. See critical mode was doable in 2 since it was just again harder stuff but in this it is no longer you playing KH3. It is you playing Dark Souls which if I wanted to play that kind of game I'd pop in my copy of bloodborne or turn on my copy of dakr souls 2 which in general I'm not a huge fan of so I stopped playing those games. Difficulty in a game is fine but there is going from hard to fuck why am I playing dark souls? No I'm not the kind of guy who says anything hard is dark souls because I grew up in the era of gaming where games had one difficulty and you had to learn to "get gud" or deal with never winning. Even if I was never good at games I didn't shy away from things being difficult. There is however an exception that the game changes so drastically that there is no happy medium between pants shittingly hard or baby mode. The other thing is that in general DLC should not dictate if a game is good on its own. DLC is meant to enhance the fucking experience and should not make me want to have to buy something (this was free) to get a god damned happy experience out of something that cost me top dollar to begin with. If I need your DLC to have fun or enjoy the story than you clearly missed the damned mark. DLC is extra boss battles. It is final mix of the game when it comes out. It turns your vanilla play through into more than what it once was. It adds aesthetics to the game not makes the game difficult and if it does it doesn't make the game different to such a degree that I'd rather fucking play a game that was created to be that difficult because their combat system is hand crafted for said difficulty. Secondly on that list of being too easy who the fuck thought kupo coins was a good idea. I literally just stopped giving a shit since I could use my now always full magic bar since magic is ass to heal when I needed it and to just run away with my big fucking area during battles and not take damage until I could go in and do slappies for a while before running away and gauging if I need to heal and then if I died come back to life. With all the power moves and free attractions each combat I could have beaten proud mode without gimping myself by trying to not use attractions. The forms didn't help with that either because I would just second form and have a brand new powerful thing to do since it was right there. Not only that but rage form is a full heal and why am I heartless sora again? Either way rage form into run away fast because I run like I'm form kenya with all the movement abilities and then with kupo coin and magic makes the difficulty in here easier than "just don't use it". Mostly because it is implemented in the game and they want you to use it. Telling someone not to use the thing is again stupid because if they didn't want me to use it they would remove the feature. This is no longer a kids game. I'm over 10 years older than I once was and I'm a big boy and want to not be treated like a child. Sure they could be putting it in for kids but why not just have it in easy mode since kids will either do easy mode or know they want that extra challenge.
13: Many of the fights and heartless are just not that good compared to earlier games - So firstly the giant horde of heartless was cool one time. Each time you fight it it gets more and more boring and feels like a cop out on trying to make a good battle and a "oh man this is such a cool idea lets use it alot more than we need to". For a game that was in development for 6 years you think they would have more varied enemies and fights and by that I mean more better heartless. Also some of the heartless are just kinda eh in general. Not only that but the places we visit feel like the heartless are kinda thrown in there and they just made way less enemies than normal. Maybe that is me forgetting if other games did the same thing but I can remember many places having more unique enemies that made more sense. Like why is the monkey heartless here? This is not the time to return to monke or some shit like that and it makes 0 sense when I have to fight it in more than one area. How about the lady heartless with the umbrella. Doesn't fit in every single place it shows up and just feels like it is there. Sometimes they do a nice job putting in certain heartless such as the reindeer which I thought was a nice touch but i don't remember them interacting at all with the reindeer from frozen. I also in general remember each heartless having a newer form such as the fat heartless eventually turned into fire breathers and then eventually into shield dudes. They do not make a reappearance but the fat ones show up all over the place and it would be nice to fight things that are great for the area. Some just also have eh designs and the game just feels poorly made because of it. Some bosses are just boring as well. In fact off the top of my head I can't really remember one I like but I sure as shit can remember the one I hated most which happens to be the airship section where you board a machine gun heartless to fight that sky bird thing in the pirates section. I even found the robots in general tedious because they were hard to beat without the use of the robot suits and felt like another tacked on gimmick to use to make combat more easy. Had they been a single section and not everywhere in the store it would have been cooler but instead we had many fights to do with robots who almost always wrecked my shit. In fact it ruined combat a little for me in general and made the section of toy story a little less good. See most of these issues I have with the places are the grand scale of things and having to go back and forth with them with having really unmemorable heartless for the most part and just not finding the game to be that great with some of the more important parts. Enemies help to flesh the game out to be cooler and as much as I love the generic heartless the worlds make the heartless cooler by making them change to be better suited for the world they are in. Having extra enemies like nobodies and unversed without having much of a reason to have them there other than "you remember this right?" seems like a waste of design chances. Some just either were frustrating tank sponges and the others were just not good. The other issue is some bosses appeared numerous times and just didn't feel impressive when fighting them since they just keep coming back. The giant heartless who I saw in hercules mode coming back on the bridge where you first meet Baymax makes the scene not great since it is a simple color swap at most and it is the same thing again. A lot of the bosses in general just feel ok at best too design wise. I can look back at many of the designs and just name really enjoyable ones who are better than the ones we got here. Honestly the designs are just so much of a let down I don't even wanna revisit the stages which is good because the game just isnt that much fun. One of the more unfun parts of enemies is also the shield stuff they have sometimes which is just more ways to give them extra health. Why not just in general just give them more health since it is just a way to beef them up? Not only are they now mostly damage sponges but the fact that some turn into shielded damage sponges just makes me less happy to fight things. The worst version of unfun boss happens to be the lich at the end when you need to rescue everyone from it. The thing is that it not only takes forever and makes you have to fight it numerous times but it also has the ability to make you unlock from it and in such large areas that becomes tedious to deal with lengthening the entire fight from the already long fight it is.
14: Quick speed round of things I don't like that are just not as good as earlier games - Magic sucks in this game. It's all relatively the same since it is all offensive. Aero was in general the same as thunder since it is aoe with a secondary effect. Water, Fire, Ice are all the same as they shoot a ball of the element that homing devices onto an enemy and when not in general locked on fucks off wherever. I miss the older spells and how they worked and felt more unique in 2 while also having more than just offense. Maybe introduce more spells to the next main entry based on the spells of every other game? I'm just not a fan of some of these worlds as they are all new. I haven't had a chance to catch most of the new movies (even thought I have disney plus which is great you should totally buy it #stillnotsponsored) I just don't like some of the places and the mini games in the don't help. Slight inconvenience but making me have to press x as I load new levels is kinda dumb. Maximus should be a party member. Give me him instead of eugene. Why do I need the flowmotion to progress? Hooray WATER LEVELS MY FAVORITE. Crabs. Watch me beat davy jones in a 4 on 1 battle.Darkubes are dumb. Jesus christ Jiminy shut up I'm trying to grind in the best place for the end game. Oh look it's an organization member maybe I can figh....nah they gone now. THERE ARE SO MANY CUTSCENES.
15: 2 final things before the story issues - Playing as other characters, keyblade forms. One of the biggest gripes I had in this was each time I used a new keyblade i wanted to fight with it and not transform into a new form because I do not like the new forms. They do nothing for me and since they kind of all are ok at best that it just kinda feels meh to me to use them. I pretty much used the kingdom key because second form was fine and stayed a keyblade. If anything I would rather have a new style of fighting like second form in general like the original forms are in KH2. I like valor and wisdom form and as cool of a call back as it was for the 2 first keyblades to be given to you I don't like the final ability to be used which makes me less inclined to find a weapon I do like. Which leads into my second final gripe. I was really excited to play as multiple keyblade wielders. Playing as mickey in 2 was super fucking cool and I miss that. Playing as Aqua and Riku in this made me hope for eventual fights at the end where it was each person fought someone else and you would get an ability to play through a final area for extra boss fights as any character for extra gameplay. I was excited to see what Axel and Kairi could do since in general they finally had moments to shine. You could make them fight and even if they did win just have them lose via cutscene and bring back Roxas and have Xion turn to your side. So many issues I have with that because it goes into another issue of.......
16: Everyone but Sora is fucking worthless - I have seen Dragonball GT and the main main main main main issue I have with that show is no one matters except Goku. See in other series characters could fight and kill or do something against the not main villain and be worth a damn but when GT happened everyone kinda just. Became worthless. No one could win a fight except Goku especially near the end when they had him fight 7 dragons. Sora does the same here when he has to be involved the final boss rush in the game. I'd have liked to see other characters stand out but even then he is the only one who can fight Xehanort when Mickey failed to do anything. It was all sora. Even waking Aqua was all sora. The only time someone did something was when Aqua fought Vanitas and still got her shit kicked in at the end during the cinematic and at that point he just didn't wanna fight 3 people. This is a shame because as I already said it would have been cooler to have those characters fight people and it matter. Let's break down the people who would be on our side Riku Kairi Axel Roxas Terra Ven Aqua Xion Sora Mickey Thats a total of 10 different people to play as. That would have made the final boss fights unique and super cool. You say that would have taken so much time and I say "Cool" but it would have been cooler to fight as these different characters. If they put in 2 extra just do them all. It is the most let down of let downs in gameplay mechanics. Who could they have fought in the game? Let's look at the villains Xigbar Marluxia Terranort Young Xehanort Xemnas Ansem Larxene Luxord Older Xehanort Evil Clone Riku Vanitas Saix Xion There are 12 total people to fight that are not the original Xehanort and each one could be fought with someone totally different. If Xion fights twice but wasn't really trying the first time she can be fine for the second battle. Let's give everyone a person to fight. Let's get the easy ones out of the way. Remember the ones who we fight first don't matter as much because each person not Older Xehanort do not matter even if they are him in other forms. Terra as the lingering will is gonna fight Terranort and get his body back. Riku can fight Ansem who tries to use his darkness and their past against him. Kairi can fight Xion who is noticed to not even be trying and then kairi can be captured to still do the ending they planned for. Xion who now defects can join and fight Larxene Axel can fight Xemnas and lose leaving him almost die while Roxas can jump out and fight him instead Ventus can finally defeat Vanitas Aqua can fight and defeat Xigbar who she has some history with Sora can fight and defeat Luxord so he can give him the card he was going to give. This fight can be more simple than the others and Sora can have to fight against the other Riku Mickey can fight Marluxia Before losing his fight with Xemnas Axel can fight and beat Saix We get to the final battle and while Sora who ran off to find Kairi he has to get through Younger Xehanort to get to the older one.
Look at that clean battle line up. Throw them in the correct order and you can have fights with so many people and even do the stuff needed for it to make the story go smoothly. Everyone gets to be unique and have their day in the sun. The final fight would be sora and gang fighting Xehanort and since the end game would be choose who fights who you can literally have over 120 different fights total if you leave out Donald and Goofy from the sora versions of fights. Heck allow us to fight the final boss final main form and we can in general have even more as we fight him with each character.
17: What is the difference between a heart and a soul? - This is a simple question because they keep saying we don't need the bodies cause we still have their hearts and I'm just having troubles figuring out if the story writers know the damn difference between a heart which is a physical thing or a concept of the soul which is the metaphysical thing. You know like what makes you you.
18: Why doesn't Axel have 2 keyblades? - Like I like that he holds it the way he does, it's very him very unique and all that but if Roxas can have 2 and he gets one from Xion who is no longer a part of him because she is right there than why can't Axel who is specifically a dual wielder of weapons get 2 of them? I mean give the main a sword that is like a Chinese Dao sword combo. It literally is a blade that turns into 2 blades. Like don't even tell me that shit is unable to happen cause Ventus fucking gets that strange keyblade because it is unique to his style so if that is how it works and they all have based on their personality he should have two. Especially since it would be a great call back to my favorite Axel line in the entire series. "Two!?"
19: Clone Riku should not be a boss - Remember when we beat the shit out of Riku as Sora and then Riku clone and then Riku beat Riku clones ass? He's not a challenge. "He was given more darkness powers" Nice, cool cop out there. Fuck you.
20: Why kill everyone just to set up a story line when you could just do it better - So this one is a little subjective. Need sora to meet Chirithy or whatever its name is and maybe set up remind dlc or whatever but in the end you could have just broke his spirit from his body and put him in the other world by making Xehanort who tried taking him over show him everyone dying and it causing Sora to blank out and travel there as a spirit or some shit. It could have worked just as fine allowing the rest of everyone else to go fight the enemies at the end giving sora time to eventually wake up and join in while Donald and Goofy protect him. Then when he wakes up Luxord who could have said "I'll handle the boy when he wakes up could have just did what he wanted to do with the card then. It's just a dumb moment and we could have instead of dumb gameplay where we have to put ourselves back together and have to save everyone and re watch a stupid ass cutscene just watched a cutscene and went back while everyone handled what they needed to.
So before I get into the final 4 parts to get into I hope that you know I was trying to be really fair with a bunch of these and not just looking for things to gripe about. When I didn't understand things I made myself look up to make sure I understood and didn't just bitch about it for the sake of bitching. These last 4 things are kind of in general I beleive super fair.
1: The battles stop as you talk with each person - Nothing kills a fight sequence like starting it, defeating a single enemy in it, talking with a full blown conversation to them, then as they die restart with another fight scene to do it with every single person in the fight. WHY WOULD MARLUXIA AND LARXENE ALLOW LUXORD TO GIVE HIM A CARD? Why would they stop fighting? Why would Ansem, Xemnas, and Young Xehanort watch as one of the others fell and talked? Why would any sane fucking person do that? It makes 0 sense and ruins that boss rush.
2: I know you need to set up another game but fuck you - You literally made the happiest of endings where everything is the best for everyone ever and I MEAN EVERYONE except for Sora and Kairi. Fucking fuck you man. I'm not even mad that that was the ending but when everyone comes up fucking peaches and cream I tend to question the product even if they need to set up story. They can do it better, do what you did at the end of 2 and send a message in a bottle and say "there are still other worlds out there that need us, just not in this universe" or some shit like that. Shit if in general they can have emotions in games than have sora have to jump into the game. You already said my microwave can feel love so than if he can be in that rex universe than he can just go in after he has a nice break with all of his friends.
3: No - Xehanort was not a good guy the entire time. He literally murdered people and stole a childs body and ripped the emotions out of another child and made them not whole. He got a child so angry he murdered his new sorta dad. He pretty much was the whole reason anything bad happened and he was "misguided and wanted to good but did bad to do so". Then in the end he's forgiven and everything is fucking fine? Then he turns into a good guy and goes into the big heart in the sky. This is the kind of writing that literally kills off stories for at least me. Not everyone needs a second chance and sometimes people are just evil. We need stories that have people die at the end sometimes. I know it is fantasy and it can be all rainbows and butterflies but dear god Steven Universe was literally "no you" and that was the end of the entire fucking series. This is the same thing. It might not be "no you" but fuck this ending. This was a story that was supposed to end a 17 year long story and the end of this single part literally spits in the face of people who played it by saying "hey guys, he wasn't bad, he is sorry now". That is complete and utter horse shit. I don't mind that this is not the end of the series. I don't care because if I stuck around this long I would do the same if the story had a satisfying ending. Fuck man in the new game he's even evil then unless that is just how Kairi remembers him but let's face it. The gang would have told her what happened and this is just horse shit in general. This is a fucking stupid story and I literally am fine with alternate realities since time travel and other dumb stuff has been the main name of the game the entire fucking time but let's face it. This is one of the worst ideas for an ending for a villain. The buold up is fucking massive and the payout is just sad.
4: NO - Fucking xigbar. I don't even know how to put this into words how much of a let down it is for Xigbar, Fucking XIGBAR to be the next main enemy. (or at least it looks that way). Fucking we could have had Luxord. We could have had Marluxia. We could have had Demyx. We could have had fucking I don't know Vexen. We could have had fucking anyone but we get Xigbar. You could have slapped any other character onto his scenes and gotten the same amount of out of nowhere shit to explain him being next but it is fucking xigbar. Fucking unreal.
So yeah. That's my massive wrap up on KH3 and I personally do not know where I stand from here. Maybe if the next game doesn't play like shit in 400 years when Nomura gets off his ass and lets us have kingdom hearts 3.76 tie in to 4 which is oddly enough a main title and not a second part of 3 I'll see how it plays. Until then I think I'm gonna sit hereand never touch 3 again and never finish Melody of Memory.

Need For Speed
So I’m a fan of many things and a filthy casual in almost all of it so it gives me the ability to really like a thing for what it is while also giving me a chance to like it for what it represents. I’ve seen a lot of people complain or make comments on certain games in the series and I feel those things are specifically mis-represented in some ways. So I’ll get into my feelings on the NFS franchise. So to me there are generally 3 types of NFS games and they come as follows. There is the racing games which are specifically about racing. No real story, no real anything other than it is racing. Customization is low, and the purpose is to just race. Now to me the ones that best represent this type of game are the early iterations. They’re fun and they just are a need for speed game. What sets them to be different than other racing games is you have things like NFS which is fast paced and has cool cars and maybe some police in it. Something like Gran Turismo is in general a realistic style of racing to allow for the realism to shine through and show cars for what they are more than to make you zoom zoom into victory. Tight corners are the general mood and knowing how to drive is the most important part other than “car go fast” which generally is what NFS is compared to in general most other racers. 2nd is the type that has you doing missions and fighting other people to get high points on a leaderboard. Sure some games nowadays are all about leaderboards and being better than people and that is just fine. I don’t see an issue with online play as long as that is really your core demographic. It just is not for me at all. Remember, filthy casual here so it just isn’t my cup of tea. Certain games that represent this style are something like Rivals where you would just mostly race against people and set scores. You are not racing in a story as again the whole purpose is to go out there and just “get high number with big zoom zoom”. The third one is the final one. To me NFS kind of fits into this specific style of racer more than anything else and it is the third style. The story driven type of game. The undercover cop taking down street racers by being a street racer, The group of friends getting revenge on a dude and stealing his cars, The guy who wants revenge cause some jackass fucked his ride and made it to the top of the blacklist and now he has to start at the bottom with a stock vehicle and take them down one by one until he gets his car back. These are the types where you can buy and fully upgrade your car. You live in the nightlife and on the edge of society. You basically live the lifestyle of The fast and the furious. Regardless of story this one to me represents what NFS really is anymore. Sure you can have fast racing but that just reminds me more of the style of games we got in the arcade such as Cruis’n. If you want those games that are all about fighting each other and so on to be the highest ranked than I would say something such as any other racer like maybe Midnight Club or even more so Forza would probably fit much better. If you want realism and don’t want to shell out a bajillion dollars on GT than maybe go find Tokyo extreme racer. Hell you want missiles, Just go play Diddy Kong racing or something else that is a Kart racer.  Now I’m not saying that NFS can’t dip into these kinds of games. Hell, I think the idea of a Kart racer set in the world of NFS is hilarious and would probably be great with maybe setting it as toddlers who act like they live in the kind of world NFS is but for comedies sake. The thing is though that in general I find most people complain more or less about trivial things in the series sometimes. Look I’m pretty much fine knowing a game these days has some glitches because higher end tech is much harder to deal with than older stuff and even then older stuff had the same issue of being tech that was new but that’s not the point. I can get them having a system that doesn’t work that they wanted to try out which can other wise ruin the experience of a game. The main issues I would say are things like “I didn’t like Payback because it just felt like a Fast and Furious movie plot.” Like really? They all feel that way. Remember the plot to Tokyo Drift? “Get Gud” was generally the plot of that movie and I’m pretty sure that Most wanted kinda hits that style of theme. Even Underground does the same thing and it generally is loved by the community. See I’m a huge fan of Most wanted. I’ve beaten the game 6 times because fuck man I love that game but I’m not deluded enough to not see that new stuff will be different. I have a specific love for styles of games sure but I’m not gonna scoff at Rivals which I personally do not like because I’m not really into competition online because “casual” seems to be my middle name. Now I could start complaining about a game that is probably the worst game in NFS series because it is not NFS and how angry I still am about said game but it’s been done to death and we all know what it is and lastly that’s not why I’m here.  I’m just here to say maybe chill and relax on a few tidbits of complaints for a series you say you love. I actually think from the limited stuff I have seen of Payback that it is a decent game. Does it capture MW? No, but then again as a fan of it not much will but the feeling of style is there. It has a story regardless of how dumb it is and it makes me feel like I live the “urban street race life” or do some really “naughty” car driving. On that note I recently bought Heat and have some high hopes for it. I hear it’s in the same style as MW so I’ll see you all on the other side of the game. Just remember to stay positive and maybe enjoy the game instead of finding every reason to dislike something and tear down a series you love.

Pendulums are the worst.
So I’ve been playing the game for a long long time. Long enough that I’ve been here since LOB and have seen the game progress through almost every series. (Haven’t found a decent place to watch Vrains yet so I sit here and wait.) Now firstly let me get a few things out of the way. I am super casual. I’m a fan of playing a card game and new stuff does not bother me. I rolled with the punches for a long time before I finally stopped playing but recently I got back into the game and I figured out what the main issue was and if you read the title you already know where this is going. Pendulums are effectively the worst mechanic of summoning in the game. Now I get it, games need to evolve to stay fresh and let people have something new to play with and I’m not mad at Konami for making new stuff to move the game along and sure, I understand that a ton of changes were made based on the series at hand and how they progressed and so on. I also understand that in order to really get people to buy new product you wanna get things to work in order for you to actually have people NEED/WANT that new product. However, in some respects, you can actually give both people who want to use older stuff and newer stuff a chance to thrive. Let’s look at the mechanics for extra deck summoning we have.       Fusions - You use 2 specific monsters (for the most part) and a magic card to bring them out. Sure fusions have slightly changed to fit the fast pace of the current meta game and also are much stronger than they used to be but it essentially has not changed to something different.      Synchros - Take 2 monsters. Specifically one that has the mechanic to “fuse” them together with any other monsters to equal the amount of stars the monster you want is and you get relatively the same thing as fusion without needing a specific magic card in your deck.      XYZ - Take a specific number of monsters with the same levels and over lay them to basically fuse together but you can only use its effect a limited amount of times based on the monsters “fused” together.      Link - Take a number of monsters or a link monster and some other monsters and summon a monster equal to its link number. It goes in a specific spot so that it can link other monsters and connect them together. It also stays in attack forever because fuck it why not. Now let’s look at the non extra deck summoning mechanics we have.      Pendulum - Grab 2 monsters. Throw them into their own little zones. Look at their special numbers. Summon a shit ton of monsters from your hand or side deck that are able to be specifically summoned through this summoning method. Now I’m not a genius but this looks vastly different to the flow of the game. Now look I could make some complaints here and there about extra decks and how the game has evolved to need more than 15 cards in it for using mechanics that keep using the extra deck except they made a draw card that allows you to banish cards from the extra deck and draw cards for it. But that’s not the argument I’m trying to make. The argument I’m putting forth is that Pendulum is by far the worst mechanic. So why is Pendulum the worst mechanic? Well to be honest it’s because it doesn’t work the same way as the others. Sure it’s a perfectly fine mechanic in and of itself if the game was moving away from the whole idea of using anything BUT Pendulums but they didn’t do that. Pendulums only really work with Pendulums and no I don’t mean you can’t use anything else I mean that 90% of Pendulum themes are specific towards their own types. Look at something from any other era of the game and you can probably find a couple of cards that really can go into any single deck. It’s possible but Pendulums mostly in general only want you to run that mechanic. Now if we took something such as let’s say a Synchro monster you can find a ton of them that can be slapped into any single deck even if you need tuners but there are tons of tuners that work with any single deck and even then krebons and plaguespreader zombie are just amazing cards that just work. There are a ton of cards that work with these mechanics more than anything else and they are just straight up good cards. Look at XYZ and Links the same exact way. Even if we don’t get the best generic cards that work in decks there are a ton of Links and XYZ in general that don’t need specific cards to be summoned that work really well. Pendulums? Well you kind of need them to work with themselves in general which is fine but most of the ones you get specifically only allow you to summon or use their theme. There are barely any non specific things that allow you to use their mechanic on anything and even then the ones that do really really really only benefit their theme. Let’s look at one of the most fair ones to use. Performapals. They benefit hardly anyone outside of their own theme and the ones who are decent don’t have a wide range of monsters who can be summoned with them. In fact the mechanic is so toxic when the rules change happened because Vrains ended they let every other mechanic that wasn’t Pendulum be summoned in the non link area. Then because no one is going to use Pendulums anymore because they lost all the power they had they threw the Pendulum area into the magic and trap area. I understand all the traps and magic cards you play wont stay so it’s not a “big deal” but it ruins an entire mechanic tons of people spent money on and now they can’t possibly use it as much as they want.  I get as a guy who stopped playing when they dropped the second set of Pendulums that my opinion doesn’t “amount to much” but to be fair I still actually like the game. I think the issue is that as much as it is indeed a fun game it changes so hard all the time. Like right now Sevens kind of just threw away the older game and made a new mechanic of older shit exists now, nothing else, and just play your whole damn hand. Also here is a new board. Now I’m not a negative Nancy and I can find myself willing to play it (if it was brought to America and translated or at least just translated so I could print them out and play for funsies) but now no cards from the new stuff work with the old stuff. Although they still pump out older style cards. The issue with that though is without a new summoning mechanic to even change the game Pendulums are still kind of pointless now.  In the end I think my biggest gripe is that this whole mechanic was just either pointless or was bad to begin with. The themes could have been their own extra deck theme. Hell, you could have made them specifically summon from the extra deck but only allow a set amount to be summoned at a time for faster paced summoning while also allowing the mechanic to flow freely on its own. Let’s look at it more like this. Pendulum monsters can summon specific monsters that are also Pendulums from the extra deck. You can play certain pendulum monsters in the deck which would make them spell cards. Then you can take the ones in the extra deck and treat them as specifically monsters and summon them. You would have a limit to the amount of monsters to summon but not the amount to summon. You could a total of 3 times summon 5 monsters. Lastly this would also allow them to not over flow the game with the ridiculous mechanic of resummoning a monster who is a Pendulum monster from the extra deck.  As a person who uses Pendulums for a dark magician deck I made for fun I get that they have a specific use for them. TBH I love the deck I made and wouldn’t want it to be changed. This is for how it works now. However, if that was the way they were meant to be used than in general I think it would have been a better mechanic over all. Either way you look at it, Pendulums are the worst summoning mechanic right now. Compared to others because it has been ruined by the new master rule or the fact that it is in general more unhealthy than other mechanics.

Yugi’s decks and some other odd stuff that just makes sense.
This is a weird double kind of post where I focus on many things because of a little project I’ve been working on. So as anyone who has ever grown up and has been into Yu-Gi-Oh knows you just can’t not like the anime. From the ridiculous duels and cards to the ridiculous hair on every single character and I’m not talking about the newer shows so much as just the original show because that’s probably the “best” one to most people (partial to GX myself even though I know it’s not the best and Konami kinda messed up on it at the end of the series in USA). See if you watch the show a simple easy thing that anyone who gets it would like would be to get the decks of a character. Heck even if it was Weevil people would be a little excited but not as excited as if they got one of the main characters. Which was great because even though it’s old news I was very excited to buy the legendary decks for Yugi. See that is an amazing product idea that can bring in everyone who likes Yu-Gi-Oh. You bring in the casuals by giving them his decks, you bring in the collectors for cards that don’t exist yet here in the west or even those who have missed out on older cards, and you bring in the more serious crowd for cards that are in archetypes that might be harder to find maybe (probably not because the game has evolved to such a degree that even mirror force isn’t good anymore.) but still 2/3 ain’t bad. Let’s be honest though. This is Konami so they’re gonna find a way to fuck it up and I’m a decent guy so I usually try to have some faith in things. Even things like Konami who ruin most of their IPs in general but hey, I keep that faith. This was a simple thing to do but in the end they messed it up with really easy to do things. Now let’s just be really honest about this. if this product interested you. You would buy it if it hit the sweet spot of cost = product. I know I would and I’m sure many others would as well. Let’s assume Konami does its best in that it not only releases every single card Yugi has ever used before but also makes each card that doesn’t exist, to exist. They would have to make a handful of cards yes, but people would probably go and buy that product cause every deck he’s run is in it in their entirety. We can assume they would use his actual deck lists and make his actual decks. Yeah, his decks are not good but let’s face it fan, cosplayers, kids, adults and everyone and their grandma would buy this product. Nostalgia is a huge thing nowadays and even if we can’t play it in a tournament and hope to win we could just roll up, throw down a fiver and just play that sweet sweet celtic guardian. Now let’s be a little more realistic. Let’s assume we take the middle road which is absolutely the best idea. Heck we’ll take both sides of that road and give two middle road ideas that are the best idea. Make his actual decks and only use cards printed while printing about 5 cards that haven’t been made. That electromagnetic turtle is pretty dope not gonna lie. Point is even then we would still get a 4 card deck from each main part of the journey. 120 cards, 5 promos, the art cards for duelist kingdom, the god cards (playable or not even) would not set anyone back hard in printing since they’re all stuff already made in real life and would even bring cards like torike and horn imp into the west which haven’t even come here. Heck don’t even make decks. Throw in every card from every single season he has ever used. We don’t need to have 2 giant soldier of stones. (yes he uses two at one point) It would however be nice if we just got the cards the way he has them in looks and what he has. Call it Yugis legendary collection and it is the same exact thing. The worst thing you could do is just make his deck and just add in random shit like 3 dark magician girls. Which is what they did. Like This is a simple thing to make man how could you mess up by adding cards he didn’t use in decks when they didn’t exist then? Even detonate which is a card Kaiba uses. Look man it’s not the biggest of deals but the fact that the next set was stuff “based on their main cards” and Yugi had exodia? HE USED IT IN ONE DUEL. Make a dark magician deck. Sure it would reprint some of the same stuff but lets face it. THAT’S WHAT PEOPLE WOULD WANT. We don’t want something LIKE it. We want that thing.  Why does this matter? Honestly besides how sad the product was it really made me want the thing I didn’t get and it is near impossible ( at least I assume) to get torike and horn imp in the west when I believe it has had one printing in the east only and the only way to buy the cards are to go buy Orica stuff. Which in their own way is nice too. Support artists. So I took it upon myself to make those exact decks and to in general just make it a small side project in my life. Duelist kingdom deck was mostly easy to do and I am missing just 3 cards so I can buy 2 of them no problem and the others are torike and horn imp. Cards we never got (fuck you Konami). That’s when I started to see the other seasons which are not cannon in comics but are technically cannon in the show. Filler is a very iffy thing to use but I’m super casual and actually like filler in things I like. Hell DBZ has some of the better filler in the side stuff it puts in because it never really changes much. However sometimes you can have too much filler or filler that changes the series totally (stares at bleach, Naruto, and one piece. You all know what you did).  Now why does this also matter? Because it raises a ton of questions about the series in general when you look at a characters decks. Did you know that as iconic as Gaia the fierce knight is he doesn’t show up past duelist kingdom? Even in the manga he only has it in duelist kingdom. This raises a ton of questions. Like Gaia the dragon champion is really good in the anime. Because let’s face it. If you are going to use chimera in your duels than why not have Gaia in there as well to make a stronger monster? It’s one of his boss monsters. I mean he still uses curse of dragon in every deck except waking the dragons which again I know it’s not fully cannon but that shouldn’t stop them from using him. Unless there was a decent enough reason. I think that reason is you don’t need the monster itself in duelist kingdom to make the fusion. Which I can actually make an argument for. Yugi has 2 monsters in his deck. First is Black skull dragon and Dragon master knight. I know one is filler but it would fit the same argument regardless because even if we take from the anime it might be a little different in the manga and comic for battle city but that is indeed cannon. So the point I’m making is it’s a little strange Yugi would have either of those mosnters in his deck. He never knew he was going to work with Joey or Kaiba ever so why would he just have them? Trade doesn’t really work that way in the show cause we never see it and I know that dude isn’t carrying around cards because let’s face it. He didn’t bring anything but his cards and a glove. He didn’t have replacement cards. Which makes you wonder where the time wizard was from when he gave it to joey. He isn’t carrying extra cards cause the world doesn’t have packs the same way and cards would be more diverse or shittier and packs are like 5 cards per pack. So having such a rare and powerful card like that and it just “being around” makes 0 sense. Which makes you believe that it came from his deck. So time wizard was an original card. We have to remember that the reason he never played it is he never drew it in his duels and then gave it to Joey. Which makes the most sense. So if we go by that logic it would be understandable that since time wizard doesn’t fuse into baby dragon that you don’t even need thousand dragon in the extra deck. That also means dark sage isn’t even in Yugis deck because if it was meant to pair with time wizard he’d have taken it out or he just simply never ran into it or was a jerk and threw it in to counter Joey. So by that logic the reason Gaia never made a return is he never had the fusion in the first place. This makes me assume many things about the decks written are kind of misleading. Firstly the fact that Yugi has the same deck kind of but changes it every season. It makes 0 sense that he would in a world where cards are not a common supply even though it is the most common thing in his world to have that he would just always remake his deck mostly alike and then in general change 10 cards out only to put them back in to only take them out again. So when mysical elf is in his deck in virtual world but he doesn’t put 2 giant soldiers of stone in makes me question if he actually even doesn’t have mystical elf in his deck normally but sure as heck has feral imp. I came to the conclusion that in every season Yugi is just running the same deck with no differences. If there are differences it would be he added them in later on because he got the card and the only reason we never see it is that the man has over 80 cards in his deck. No it’s not 40 no matter how many times he says it because anime rules. It makes even less sense to change the deck not just for every season but every duel that he would have life shaver in against Kaiba only and then never play it in a duel ever again or something along those lines. Why does this matter? If I am going to make his decks I want to be as “accurate” as possible and am going to make his decks but it’s not like anyone wants to just make 7 decks for the dude. Especially when you take the Pharaoh into account as well. And who even wants to actually just make a Yugi themed deck? It’s not the same as having his decks themselves. It is much cooler in the end to actually have his deck. Even if it is 4000 cards large.

Blastoise is the best starter *
For decades people have been arguing who is the best starter when it comes to the kanto region. This is usually through many means of math, personal choice, and in general, a heavy nostalgia factor. People play differently from others all the time and one of those ways is through the use of the rules called Nuzlocke rules. As of writing this I personally have done a Nuzlocke with all 3 Kanto starters in the 3rd generation game remakes. These games are called Fire Red and Leaf Green. This argument even lasts within these games and I want to try and settle it with a fair argument in several ways. Who is the best starter in Fire Red and Leaf Green?
We need in general to establish a few arguments that are important and a few that I personally have come across. We also in general need to establish the parameters of what this argument is based on. So let us try and do both of those:
:We will only be using Fire Red Leaf Green to quantify this argument BUT I will touch up on those games as well for a reasoning. :We will be using 3 different arguments from - Replacing your starter Who is the best of its type What battles you will be facing and what each Poke'mon can bring to the table specifically
I hope these are in general the best parameters for people to agree upon to make this a fair argument as some people will play using some ways such as replacing their starter, looking to find a better alternative, or straight up using it on their team.
Ok, first things first. Let's look at the games Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. We have a wonky system of how things work and a bare bones fighting system. This is fine as I would heavily assume that most people find the remakes of games from generations 1 and 2 to be the best games to nuzlocke as they are more within todays times but I know even if that is true that people would be angry if I didn't give some form of commentary on it. I would also be remiss to not give it a small thought as well since one of the arguments people have used against me was the use of generation 1 logic. From what I can conclude is that the best starters come down to 2 main factors. Firstly Charizard is one of the faster choices allowing him to have a huge critical hit factor with almost every move and it also gains slash which has a high critical hit factor which pretty much allows his pretty decent attack stat to allow it to shine through as well as his special attack. He can learn some pretty decent moves as well as will most likely go before everything you fight. Sure, he is frail but in general I think his critical hit chances are pretty decent if that is what you look for when it comes to an aggressive approach to combat. On that note Venusaur is by far probably the better choice as you have the chance to either deal massive damage with a critical hit move such as razor leaf and can set up toxic leech seed  combo. But this is only really my opinion since I personally do not nuzlocke the original games.
So before I really get into the meat of the argument I should explain a couple things. There has to be some sort of assumption written in that debates and any form of argument need to have a civil discourse where both people can make commentary on such things. Since this is right now not really possible I have to make some exceptions such as making assumptions on normal things to assume such as move sets. Next It is important to note the one thing that all nuzlockes have in common. The rules of the nuzlocke itself. If we change these rules than the parameters of the argument are changed as well. We are trying to determine the base question of who is the best starter in a Fire Red Leaf Green nuzlocke. Setting up based around your specific rules and regulations only changes the argument to better fit your wants and needs. We cannot do that as if I were to change the rules to what I follow than the real problem starts to arise. So until the argument is changed to something else we will start with the base argument before we change a parameter. The main parameters were already stated above with replacement and who is best of its type as well the battles you will be facing with only that specific Poke'mon. So without further ado let us begin the main argument and who would be the best and why.
Without giving an argument first I would like to first state who is best and then give the why as I feel that would be easier than to argue first than make the choice. That choice to me is indeed Squirtle. Some of you will see this and immediately go to the comments and start to argue, please, do not do this and read first. I will explain everything fairly.
First before anyone argues move diversity and diversity in general. Know that it is not as important as one might make it out to be. Many pokemon who are of the same type can learn enough moves to actually be diverse move-set wise as well as types only matter who you are fighting against more than anything else and when past the types who would have the advantage against you it would not be as important as you would make it out to be. Secondly we should also note that one bias that I personally have is that with the normal rules of the nuzlocke you would always choose bulkier pokemon as survivability is important since not dying helps you win. This is because with enough levels any Poke'mon can deal enough damage but not always necessarily outlive a stronger enemy.
Why is Squirtle the best choice. Firstly lets take into account the main argument. You can only have one guaranteed choice in your choices. Everything is random and with ever changing rules people use one main thing is consitent unless changed and that it choice of starter. We cannot use the base stats of a starter as they are all relatively even except for where the placement of those stats is. With the idea that survivability is the most important thing we know that Charizard is most likely to die to anything while Venusaur and Blastoise will have a higher chance of living. Since again the stats are very similar in stat total this will not be factored. Out of all the defensive stats Blastoise has the highest of defenses as well as the second highest of the HP stats but only 1 point lower than the highest. Let us take into account the reason why bulk is important is that we have to always assume the worst case scenario when playing. All enemies that can explode will always explode. Charizard is most likely incapable of surviving against those explosions. The best ones to use for this scenario are a Blastoise and Venusaur. With that in mind we have to also look at the important battles will be to see if they can survive those as well. We will be using who has the best advantage in each battle. The most important battles are as follows. Each gym leader, Rival, Elite 4 member, Enemy Team Leader. These battles are Brock, Misty, Surge, Erika, Koga, Sabrina, Blaine, Giovanni, Blue (for this instance his real name). When it comes to the enemy team we also should note that each member on their team in general will have the main types in Poison, Normal, Ground. So let's look specifically at the things we will be fighting.
We will start with the enemy main team first. The enemy main team will almost always consist of Zubats, Rattata, Ekans, Sandshrew, Machop Drowzee, Grimer, Koffing, Magnemite, Voltorb, Cubone. If we look at most of them it is something that Venusaur in general will have a more difficult time to fight, A total of 7 pokemon are either going to have a clear cut advantage or go even with him in terms of typing. When it comes to Blastoise it is a total of 2 that has a distinct advantage over him. We could put in favor of Blastoise in this situation as it favors him more methematically. Charizard to be fair is only effected by those same 2 in that they are electric types. Move sets are a little more difficult to break down against the fact that there are too many factors to take in with this so keeping it to the types with the worst assumption that each one has a super effective move at the best option would make it a better argument than assuming they are all with their weakest moves. This would mean we would assume all Zubats would have wing attack when fighting against a Venusaur while say all Voltorbs would have at worst Thunderbolt. This makes the arguments on these pokemon fair for all pokemon. On the adverse side of things we must assume that each of our chosen starters have no specifically advantageous moves learned from anything other than their move set for these as well. We could use moves taken from the TMS and HMS but let us instead put them at their individual weakest. Charizard can in fact defeat Machop no problem as it learns a flying move. Venusaur can defeat Sandshrew and Cubone as it learns a grass move. Blastoise learns a total of 2 different advantageous moves for things such as Drowzee with a dark move and both Cubone and Sandshrew with water moves. This would put Blastoise in the lead with most beneficial fights while venusaur will be at the least with charizard in the middle. This doesn't make any of them best or worst as this is only the weakest of arguments for any of them and we will now continue onto the leaders.
We need to take into account of how each type will give either a clear cut win, or a clear cut loss, or in fact it is even. In case of each of these we will also take move sets into account of what you would normally have at the level in case we want to use the argument of no over leveling as anyone with enough focus, commitment and sheer fucking will can in fact level up to level 100 before brock so using this as a parameter is the most fair way to make an assessment. Brock is the first person we will be fighting and he has 2 pokemon total in Geodude and Onix. Firstly we have Bulbasaur who has not evolved yet as your pokemon is in general the same as his highest level pokemon. Level 14 at most. This makes your move set Tackle, Growl, Leech Seed, Vine Whip. Brock will have no moves that are super effective against you thus you will be able to defeat him no problem. Charmander will have Growl, Scratch, Ember, Iron Claw. Brock will have on one of his pokemon Rock tomb allowing you to go "even" in this match. Squirtle will have tackle, Tail Whip, Bubble, Withdraw. Brock will have no super effective moves giving you the advantage. This puts Venusaur and Blastoise at a clear automatic advantage. Charizard is right now trailing behind by 0 to the others having 1. Misty would be second. from here we are going to assume very heavily that you will evolve your pokemon when given the level chance. Mostly because in general that is what the majority of people do unless your pokemon would learn a move before their next stage. Thankfully (to my knowledge) none of the starters do this. Ivysaur would to all assumptions for this have the move set of Vine whip, Leech Seed, Poison Powder, Sleep Powder. Misty would have Tackle, Recover, Harden, Water Pulse and her Starmie would have Recover, Water Pulse, Rapid Spin, Swift. You would have the advantage in that nothing hurts you that much and you could mitigate her healing with a Poison Powder. When it comes to Charmeleon you would have Smokescreen, Metal Claw, Ember, And most likely Scratch as it would not be resisted by her pokemon. Misty would again have her water move and would destroy your starter. You lose this match in general. When it comes to Wartortle you have Bite, Water gun, Withdraw, Tackle. Both her pokemon are in general psychic type and would lose to your super effective move giving you the advantage to her water and normal moves. Now Ivysaur would in general have an advantage since I assume you would use Powders and Leech seed to mitigate damage. This puts both Venusaur and Blastoise in the lead of 2 to 1 gyms where you can beat the gym leader or at least go even with. From now in instead of listing the move sets that will be used we will instead list the moves that will give each person of you and the gym leader a clear advantage on each of their pokemon because making the assumption for later move sets would cause too much of a problem and we will even at that point just show that brock would lose to grass move, lose to water move, go even with steel move to rock move, misty would lose to grass move, lose to dark move, and win against your non effective moves. When it comes to fighting Surge people would assume heavily that the victories are pretty cut and dry with things. Ivysaur would resist all of Surges moves that he mainly uses, Charmeleon would have a super effective move in Dig while taking normal damage going even as well with Ivysaur, and Lastly Wartortle would go even as well taking double damage but also learning how to use Dig would put you on more even terms. So far when it comes to who is at the most advantage it is still pretty even ground of 2 to 1  for Blastoise and Venusaur to Charizard. Erika comes next and this is where things get a little bit trickier. TMS are now a more important detail in that you can now if able buy or get some TMS that are most important to your playthrough. For this we have to keep in mind that the rules do no go against teaching your pokemon new moves via TM. Firstly you will go less than even against Erika when it comes to Ivysaur in that in general you do not learn any moves that allow you to have an advantage against any of her pokemon. Even Tangela goes even as it learns Ingrain to combat your Poison Powder. Charmeleon here is the clear winner of who has the advantage against this gym leader. Seeing as it learns Ember. It might not be the strongest move but it gives the clear advantage and seeing as in general they don't really have super effective moves you win this fight. Wartortle can go even with Ice Beam. This makes Charizard at an even 2 for everyone to have who would have the most advantage against gyms. Koga is next and has the clear advantage over Venusaur. Venusaur does not learn moves that allows it to combat fairly any of his pokemon. Charizard is the same way except with dig against his Muk. Lastly the same is true for Blastoise who does not also learn anything except Dig to fight Muk. To be fair though most of Kogas team use the Defense stat as their main defensive stat and those are the ones who are able to stop you from using Dig on them with Levitate. This would put Charizard and Blastoise as a clear cut winner compared to Venusaur who does not learn any super effective moves. The points now follow as such with everyone having 2 points for clear advantage against gyms as having a better stat distribution does not make you a clear winner. Sabrina Has the clear victory in that each of her pokemon learn a psychic move which defeats your venusaur. Charizard only defeats one of them with his fire moves and Blastoise has the clear victory with Bite and Dig to combat her Venomoth. This would give you the distinct advantage against her gym with Blastoise who now has 3-2 advantage. Blaine comes next and Blastoise as well as Charizard both resist his fire moves while also having moves to deal massive damage. 4-2 advantage of Charizard and Blastoise over Venusaur. Lastly is Giovanni with his rock and ground moves give him an advantage over charizard while Venusaur goes even against the types who are poison as well as ground who can go even with his poison type. Blastoise is the only one who has a clear cut advantage over them making in the end by this count 5-4-2 Blastoise, Charizard, Venusaur. Many people would argue the ability to heal or items but we have to make it that those things are not your pokemon so much as your bank account fighting. Secondly an easier way to look at fights is this. Venusaur learns a total of 4 damaging move types because Sludge Bomb is post game. Ground, fighting, normal, and grass. Out of all of these you will most likely not be putting Rock Smash on your pokemon as it makes 0 sense and other pokemon would learn it and Rock Smash is relatively a garbage move for fighting. So grass and normal moves are the things you would use in Strength and Razor Leaf or Giga Drain. Charizard learns a total of Fire, Fighting, Steel, Ground, Dragon. You would not get Dragon Claw until the E4 . Leaving Flamethrower, Iron Claw, and Wing Attack or Aerial Ace or Fly, and Brick Break. Blastoise would have Water, Dark, Fighting, Ground, Ice. You could fairly state that in general You would have Surf, Brick break, Ice Beam. Lastly you would most likely throw Earthquake on them if it was your only pokemon on your team as Earthquake would be helpful depending on the starter you chose. Venusaur and Blastoise would not need it as Charizard resists ground 100% while Arcanine would take damage from it and it would be best to throw it on charizard as well for other reasons.
When it comes to the Elite 4 we have to remember that their teams are not just one type like they say they are. Each one has a pokemon on their team that has nothing to do with their type. The idea here is to do the same thing as last time and see who would have the clear advantage over one trainer. Venusaur loses against lorelei as much as it has some advantage not every pokemon it fights is weak to grass moves while it is weak to ice moves. Charizard loses as much as venusaur in that even though it deals normal damage to some it also loses to all of them except Jynx who is the only real ice type while everything else has water moves. Blastoise is the only one who can go either even of with an advantage in that it has moves that cant be resisted as well as a dark move to deal with the two psychic types on their team. Bruno Goes even with everyone as he has some rock moves, and no one has real advantage move wise against everything so in the end it is relatively a fair fight. Agatha has a clear advantage with Venusaur as her pokemon resist him and in general he doesn't have anything special to deal with them. Charizard goes even while Blastoise has a ground, ice and dark move to go against them while not being defeated by their moves. This makes Blastoise a clear winner. Blastoise 1-0. Lance Is at an advantage against Venusaur as he learns multiple moves that hurt grass types and pokemon who resist his moves. Charizard doesn't fair much better with pokemon that resist his moves and lastly in general Blastoise is the only one who has a super effective move on all but one single pokemon while not having any weakness they exploit. This makes Blastoise an almost perfect fight against them. But sadly, that Gyarados fights against it.
The champion has the most diverse team in the game to fight against. He will always have a water, grass and fire type that changes depending on your starter choice and the main thing to remember is if you can again go even with moves against a pokemon on his team. Venusaur fights and goes even with Rhydon, as well as Gyarados, and Exeggutor. Losing only to his other 3 pokemon in Charizard, Alakazam, and Pidgeot. Charizard defeats Rhydon, Arcanine and Exeggutor with moves like Earthquake as well as Flamethrower and goes even with Alakazam and Pidgeot while losing to Blastoise. Blastoise has the best fight in that he has 4 moves that give him pretty even coverage to everything. You have Bite to fight Alakazam, You have Ice Beam for Venusaur and Pidgeot and even Gyarados and lastly you can outright beat Arcanine and Rhydon with Surf. This makes Blastoise out of the starters the best against the E4 and Champ.
Lets Take it even one step further and just assume Super effective moves let you outright win a fight against an enemy with some over leveling but not to level 100. A good amount is up to about 10 levels more than an enemy. This is a decent amount to give as some people (myself included since I wanna win) will do. In this we can look at all the moves given to each and say that in the end Blastoise is the only one with a real advantage in that he in general will be a pokemon who can outright defeat almost any enemy with a super effective move he can learn. What with Water moves to Brock, Dark to Misty, Ground to Surge, Ice to Erika, Ground to Koga, Dark/Ground to sabrina, Water to Blaine, Water to Giovanni, Dark to Lorelei, Water to Bruno, Dark/Ice/Ground to Agatha, Ice to Lance, and lastly, Ice, Dark, Water to Blue. Blastoise has way too many advnatageous matches in super effective moves that allow him to pull ahead of each main battle.
No other starter does as much as Blastoise does when it comes to being super effective. If we take roles into account blastoise has enough damage output with move choices as well as being able to get defensive moves to do the same as Venusaur. It learns Toxic as well as things like Rest and Double Team to make it hard for them to actually defeat him if he throws out Surf and Ice Beam. Charizard is just easier to beat if he goes the defensive route because he is not bulky enough to really take advantage of it. Venusaur is more of a defensive pokemon in general but can be offensive if need be. In the end Blastoise is the only one who can comfortably switch roles with no real issue. This would be my argument in general for using just a Blastoise only but the main thing to remember is you can alwasy fill your team with multiple members even if they are all water. Remember. It isn't specifically the type your pokemon is compared to the entirety of what it can do and what it fully has to offer. Stats, moves, abilities, stat distribution, typing, move set learning. Many things make up the importance or usability of your pokemon. Some people would assume replacing your starter would be the best idea. Let's look in general at the pokemon who could replace your starters.
One of the arguments I've faced when it comes to "replacing" a pokemon was that nothing compares to Venusaur but many things compare to Blastoise to which I would argue is an ignorant point to make. Let's talk about some hard facts when it comes to a nuzlocke. Before Brock in general you have some pokemon who can help out. Now sure, some of them might just end up dying before they can get in but thats chances we have to take. Sometimes a sacrifice is necessary and a completely horrible thing to do but 1 vs all is a fair thought to have. If this pokemon dies here i can save the rest and even this run. That's a thought everyone who has made a run has had ever. Let's be honest though. Saying there are no pokemon before Brock that can't fight as good as a starter is kind of wrong to say. Firstly you have Butterfree, Beedrill, Mankey. Now in general Beedrill is the worst of those three, but with enough growls and poison you should have no real issue fighting his rock move. Now, that is if for example Brock has no full heals. I believe in general he uses a potion or two but no full heals. Secondly even so, Butterfree and Mankey are pretty good solutions to Brock. See many people forget that even though he can throw a huge boulder, his pokemon kind of can't tank special attack hits making Butterfree a beast to fight with since it has a respectable special attack and learns Confusion. This is important to remember as special attacks are pretty much what really wins even more than than X4 damage from water and grass moves. Physical grass moves and water moves would probably hit that boy but not as hard as a special move does in general. That's why even with the resistance to fire you can still do some damage with even Ember. Mankey also in general just learns fighting moves that allows you to deal a decent chunk of damage while also resisting rock moves. Before misty you can catch magikarp, paras, zubat, clefairy, ekans, oddish/bellsprout. Magikarp who can evolve into gyarados who learns bite and is specially defensive, paras who is part grass and can tank some hits with his typing, zubat who learns bite who can damage them easier, clefairy who is specially defensive, ekans who has alright special defense and can learn bite, and oddish and bellsprout who are grass types with grass moves. Next you have surges gym which pokemon you can get before it are as follows of sandshrew, drowzee, diglett/dugtrio, nidoking/queen, and also the dig tm. Sandshrew, diglett, king/queen are all ground type and pretty much can defeat any of surges pokes and drowzee has a high special defense that he can straight up tank surges hits. The dig tm can be placed on things like raticate, arbok and so on. Lastly for erikas gym we have, well, we have a very large amount, theres like so many past and current route pokemon like flying types, psychic types, fire types, and so on. The list is diverse enough that by erikas gym you have a pokemon who in general can fight erikas pokemon and don't need your starter to do anything. From there you can collect and make sure you know what is basically going to be the main parts of your team for the rest of the game. Eevee is available, you can get a lapras and so many other things might pop up as well as even one of the Hitmons. Either way saying starters couldnt possibly be replaced compared to other pokemon is kind of a strange way to look at things from my view point. One of the arguments I heard was specifically that Bulbasaur is just too good compared to others of its type that you couldn't possibly do a fair trade while you can fair trade off Blastoise in general. Firstly, before getting into that I would like to again, say that you can in general not have a type on your team and team diversity is a small detail people get caught on. Personally I've had Blastoise, Lapras, and even Gyarados on my team and everything worked out fine. That's because middle to late game is where final team building is at its utmost importance. By the team you get to the end needing to have a grass type on your team or even a fire or water type isn't as important as figuring out what's best out of all your choices. You don't need a water pokemon who can surf if any pokemon that can use surf can fight evenly against Blaine. With that being said let's look at the pokemon who would be "replacing" anything because that is the next form of argument.
Venusaur - If we look at venusaur and what it has we need to look at what it mostly does as a whole. Venusaur is a defensive tank more than anything else. It has a somewhat shallow movepool diversity wise in that it learns 5 types, 1 of which suck and two of which are in general just tm's no one wants on their starters. Those moves being cut, strength, and rock smash. Strength in general is one of the only tms in the game that is worth using besides surf which is just strong in general and goes directly on anything that can learn it unless they have such low special it wouldnt matter. Like rhydon can learn surf, but why would you teach it surf? Point being that the main moves you can learn as Venusaur that are offensive that are really worth a damn in a nuzlocke are razor leaf, strength, giga drain, earthquake, sludge bomb. 2 I believe are late game in that earthquake is from giovanni, and sludge bomb is post game and a nuzlocke really ends when you beat the champ so you're not gonna need or get that move at all. So your 3-4 main moves are mostly razor leaf/giga drain, strength, earthquake. But I wouldn't throw earthquake on venusaur unless he was the only one on my list of possible team members who would learn it because venusaurs main strength lies in his tech moves and defensive stuff. This means your best moves lie in having sleep and poison powder/toxic, leech seed, synthesis/rest, double team, and maybe protect. Point is in offensive stats venusaur isnt really worth it as much as his stats show he can do damage because his best stuff is in things like poison powder, leech seed giga drain for more health and then outlast the enemy. Venusaur is a "thinking mans" pokemon which is great for fighting stuff no doubt but defense doesnt always win you a fight. If something comes along that can knock you out before you can outlast and whittle an opponent down the fight is mostly lose and we all know grass is one of the worst typings in the game being weak to most of the things you're gonna fight. Let's look at the other pokemon to show if they can "replace" venusaur.
Vileplume - If we look at vileplumes stat distribution and compare it to venusaurs roughly the same stat levels in everything but speed but since we're not looking to compare an offensive pokemon to an offensive pokemon and more leaning towards a defensive build like venusaur would we could take into account that the speed doesn't really matter too much in the end. With the leaf stone being what you need to evolve into this bad boy you could have him sooner than venusaur in your Locke if you for some reason had a stone, but since you get it around erikas gym lets assume they would evolve around the same level. Move pool isnt that much different except you don't learn strength or rock smash which isn't really a big loss. Moves are however a little more in favor of Vileplume in that it can learn petal dance while venusaur cannot. So if you wanted more offense you can do that instead of having to wait for or set up solar beams. (I personally don't use them but to each their own man.) You have acid, giga drain but again we're not looking for a super offensive pokemon in this 1 to 1 trade. Vileplume learns everything that venusaur learns except leech seed. But Vileplume learns stun spore which allows for an equal amount of trade off. Say you need to switch out but want to cripple them with lower speed for a pokemon to fight theirs. You can tank a hit, paralyze them, and then switch out. They now have that paralyzation for the match. Better than leech seed in some instances. Vileplume is almost literally a fair enough trade off to venusaur. They have the same typing, almost the same stat ratio, and to be 100% fair, its base stats are only so much lower, because of the speed loss. Theyre both pretty much even except by 5 points. Is 5 points too big a difference? No. 5 isn't that big and shouldnt sway anyone to choose venusaur because of it.
Parasect - This is one of the worst pokemon to have in any nuzlocke. Parasect sucks man. It really does. It is supposed to be offensively strong but there are some pokemon just stronger than it. Here is a quick list of pokemon who are generally better than parasect. Everyone. There, that is the list. Parasect has one move. Spore. That is its strong point and if sleep is good AFTER you tank a strong hit than fucking run 6 parasect. Tangent aside Parasect offers nothing besides spore and slash. Sure it can get dig and aerial ace but why would you teach it those moves when any other pokemon are better at attacking things like spearow, sandslash, arbok, dugtrio, and so many other pokemon who also outspeed this bad boys 30 base speed.
Victreebel - Even though we can't compare them both on a defensive stance Victreebel is literally the opposite in that offensively it is much better than venusaur. It might not learn strength like venusaur can but it does learn slam which is a comparable move power wise, while it deals equally as much damage. Now if we did compare them defensively Victreebel would indeed lose which I concede that point but in general they can both do the same offensively in growth, and special attacks such as razor leaf. Now in general Victreebel is kind of not that good compared to others, but in general it is good enough when it comes to being offensive compared to almost all the other grass. It comes in 4th and if you would rather have oddish in your party over bellsprout than the answer is simple. Play the game that has oddish in it.
Exeggutor - This is what I would say is equal to the other two best grass pokemon but I would compare them as apples and oranges. Both great but not for the same reasons. It learns strength, psychic, giga drain, stomp, and egg bomb. If you want it defensive it can learn all of what venusaur learns and stun spore as well as reflect, it can tank as well as be a power house. Is it slower? Yeah but if you're worried about speed just teach something sunny day and this bad boy will most likely outspeed things and take them on. As a 1 to 1 comparison it can't be dont but to say this isnt equal in value is what I would say in a word, wrong. Because venusaur is defensive compared to the offensive power of exeggutor.
Tangela - Do you want a tanky pokemon who can take hits and dish out some sweet sweet damage? Well look more further cause tangela isnt it! Jokes aside tangela isn't THAT bad but boy is it not that good either. Yeah it can tank physical hits but dies to anything special so even though it wont take double damage to psychic moves its gonna eat shit to all special moves in general. So it would tank against almost all the things that kill it (fire being the only special thing) but why would you purposely tank those moves anyway? Sure, in some scenarios its sometimes best to trade out something and let it die to let something better live but having a tangela on your team for that purpose feels, you know, kinda dumb. Positives? It can learn everything every other defensive pokemon learns except it also learns to dig into the ground and refuse to leave until it dies. You know, ingrain. Point im making is yeah this is fine, but it doesn't compare to anything and shouldn't be tried to be defended to take anythings place. Not a horrible pokemon, but certainly not good enough to take a first place spot. This is filler if there was anything it could be.
So the pokemon who are comparable to venusaur are exeggutor and vileplume. One of which is right before the second gym and also has multiple chances to be gotten in general. There are 3 grass types total who in general have the same level of use and that's a fair trade off compared to the lack of actual grass types compared to water types. Fire has it a little different in that it has even less options. Let's face it, Most of these pokemon as "fine" as they are only maybe 2-3 tops TOPS are even worth considering as one of the fire types to use in general but in the end I'd almost always give it up to the boy zard.
Charizard - Speed and damage are pretty much what you would get from big ol tubs the dragon. Charizard has a fair move set in that he can learn  a powerful fire move that is pretty much its strongest asset. Sure it can learn dragon claw but having a move set trying to be diverse isn't really the pull of someone like Charizard as you want to go in hard and go in fast. So having a tool box of moves isn't as important as hitting with the thing that will deal the most damage and if that is stopped use your second choice. This means throw out Lizard. Flamethrower. Repeat. If First move cannot be used than the best bet is to in general smack it with dragon move to deal damage. If that doesn't work than why use Zard?
Ninetails - The problem with Ninetails is that outside of meta it is not that good. It is equally as frail physically as other pokemon but it has a high special defense. The thing is it's a speed attacker who works like Charizard in that it wants to hit fast and hard but because its second main stat is special defense it doesn't hit like you want it to, and the only real move it learns is Flamethrower. Skipping Vulpix on your team also allows you to fill something else on the team to just have a Flamethrower slapped onto it that can perform special attacks and deal a ton of damage.
Arcanine - Even though it has a shallow move pool it is probably as good as or better than Charizard. In general you can still skip it but you have such high attack stats that even if you didn't just flamethrower things you could always just extreme speed them for a but ton of damage as well as priority. Iron tail allows you to fight rock types as well as ice that aren't resistant to it with water typing, you know, if you forget that in general that you can melt ice.
Rapidash - The only thing this pokemon has is that it can learn Solarbeam. That's about it. And if I didn't think Ninetails was a good replacement for Zard than I wouldn't think this is either.
Magmar - See, as strong as it generally is and how it can learn Thunderpunch which in this gen is amazing to have since it is a special attack and not a physical it sucks that you can't have it since that is an egg move. Here is the thing. Magmar just isn't that good compared to something like say Arcanine or even Charizard. Just no need to replace him unless you NEED Flamethrower using pokemon and Zard dies.
Flareon - Most people would assume I would say Flareon sucks but quite the opposite in fact. It has a large special attack even if it is lower than Zards and others but it has a huge physical attack in general. Which works for its more diverse move pool than the other two. You can learn a ghost move which is physical as well as ground, steel, and even dark type moves. Heck if you really want there is even a poison move. That's not the end of it. You also have a pretty decent special defense so you can tank some hits as well. The real issue is it is the worst of the 3 Eeveelutions in the game and most people would in general rather have one of the other two instead of Flareon.
When it comes to fire pokemon in general the 3 best ones in the game are Charizard and Arcanine and lastly Flareon. Now let's look at blastoise and see what compares to it and if you think this was alot to read and digest you have more since there are 16 of these water boys in the game and even though so many are later in the game we gotta compare them all since that's what we're doing here. Comparing every thing that could replace blastoise that is water type.
Blastoise - This bad boy is a tank who can dish out and take all kinds of damage and I mean all kinds of damage. Let's look at blastoise and see what hes got under the hood. Besides surf which comes on all water pokemon as if they were airbags on a car, we have bite, skull bash, rock smash, dive, focus punch, water pulse, toxic, ice beam, blizzard, iron tail, earthquake, dig, brick break, double team, rest, strength. All of which are pretty much viable moves on this bastard cause he has relatively equal offensive stats. He's almost as fast as a venusaur by 2 points and in general more tanky in pure stats but not in healing moves. Because blastoise, doesn't have anything other than rest which is fine because guess who has a pokeflute? You do. See as much as blastoise has so many other things it has to contest with, before even looking I can say it's going to outright be better than most of them with only 3-4 maybe tops by sheer volume being equal to it. Instead of going through and looking at them in order by number, we can look at the stuff that no one cares about first (nothing against faves, I mostly mean in stats, these pokemon are good and I like them but if seaking was good it wouldn't be in this dudes mod for the worst pokemon in the game as would most of these other pokemon.)
Kabutops - Let's be honest. It's alright. Its not the worst, but it's not really that good. Sure it has slash, and some speed, and it has rock moves and water moves grass ground flying and so on that it has diverse move pools but 1: It takes forever to grind out, and 2: It is slightly frail and the moves it does learn don't work on it well. Now sure The 2 gyms it will be good against as well as the elite 4 with some of the things you will fight you might have an upper hand but nothing that blastoise or something else in the better stuff can handle.
Omastar - Actually worse than kabutops in some ways except of how much of a wall it is in comparison. That being said it falls into the same categories because in general it has a worse move pool and just doesn't have anything special.
Seaking - Fuck yeah, seaking. AS much as I love this pokemon. It is hot garbage, Sure it can learn a grass and flying move. Sure it can learn water and ice moves. and yeah it's got ok stats but thats it. It's ok. It's not good and doesn't compare.
Seadra - This feels like a tangela in that it can tank a hit and deal a hit but only if that hit is not special. The thing is as much as it is fast and learns dragon dance it just also has nothing to offer compared to blastoise.
Golduck - Golduck is cool and all and can do a ton of things in that it has stats like blastoise does but it's just weaker and not a 1 to 1 comparison.
Kingler - Sure it has an amazingly high attack stat and yeah that is great but it lacks in move set areas where it is needed. If it could learn earthquake or maybe arial ace than sure, I'd rate this guy higher but in general he just isn't that good for a nuzlocke. Other play throughs sure. He is a good choice but his lack of moce set make it an issue to try and use him.
So here is where I'll start the good stuff to have and see if they can compare to blastoise.
Poliwrath - I'm gonna say it now. This dude is probably under rated. I wouldn't know as I have never used one in a nuzlocke but knowing its move set, and what it can do and its stats this bad boy is great to have in that he is just so good. Except the reason I haven't gotten one is I never get one. He is a little hard to get in general so as good as he is, he can't really be compared. It is better offensively in damage but not as good defensively.
Tentacruel - Easy to get but when it comes to a 1 to 1 in what they can do blastoise is well rounded while tentacruel is much more defensive. Sure it is easy to get as the Zubat of the sea which means that it doesn't die to sabrina but in general I think blastoise is gonna have to take this one. If built more defensive blastoise can easily fill the same role as tentacruel in that they can both poison a pokemon and set up healing and such. In the end as good as tentacruel is blastoise is still just better.
Dewgong - This is just like tentacruel in that as good as it is as a defensive pokemon, blastoise can do the exact same thing.
Cloyster - This is one of those amazing walls that if you can get it, use this bad boy. However, It loses to special attackers in that it just can't take this hits. It has one thing over blastoise while blastoise has several things over it. The defense stat is off the chart and sure with enough switching around you can make sure to mitigate most damage but in the end it isn't a 1 to 1 comparison like with venusaur and vileplume.
Vaporeon - A great pokemon with bulk and damage and even speed. Sure it might not have the greatest attack stat in the game or even compared to other water types but it has decent defense and hits the major move needed later in the game with ice. There are better choices than this in general and it only slightly falls short compared to blastoise in some areas but its bulk puts it up there.
These are the final ones who I think are even with blastoise.
Slowbro - You can only get this in leaf green but man if you can get it, put this bad boy onto your team cause the only thing it can't do is outspeed your enemy. you got psychic, surf, strength, water pulse, ice beam, toxic, iron tail, earthquake, psychic, shadow ball, brick break, flame thrower, fire blast, double team, rest, amnesia, curse, and yawn. Jesus man this is one of the best pokemon in the game when it comes to a nuzlocke it's like you're playing pokemon or something cause man your game is now easy. This isn't even a comparison in that this pokemon is so good that you can tank the hit, and proceed to flip them off and the game will see it and feel bad. It's also, psychic type. So it's the best type in the game.
Starmie - Man this bad boy is so good. I don't know how many times I'm gonna have to tell you these pokemon are good because in general the rest here are just that good. So let's drop that part and just say what they can all do from now on. Starmie can heal, it can do thunderbolts, ice beams, psychic, surf. It attacks hard and fast. You want an offensive pokemon? This is it.
Lapras - It tanks and hits hard with pretty much more diverse moves as well as being pretty much equal to blastoise. The only reason this is "better" is because of its typing and the fact it learns thunderbolt. But in the end they're pretty even.
Gyarados - Last but not least is gyarados. It's not as tanky as blastoise in some areas but what it lacks it makes up for in offense. It learns pretty much all the same stuff but only lacks in that it is "harder to raise". Which isn't a bad thing? The point is this is a great pokemon and is pretty much just as good as blastoise.
Looking at this large list of just water pokemon and trying to find a list of things to replace in general is one of those things that is easy to do but I have to stress that replacing your starter seems like a faulty idea to have in that in general they have great stats and decent move pools when compared to most other things. The other thing to remember is that grass types are some of the worst pokemon in the entire games types and even here you don't have much advantage trying to replace pokemon 1 for 1 in type specifically when you can per se' just throw moves onto a pokemon who can lose them. For example fire isn't needed in general but if you wanted one why not teach your Gyarados Flamethrower? Do you NEED to have a Fire type? That's a faulty way of thinking when it comes to team creation. It locks you into a team and how you construct them. Sure it would be good to have a good replacement for when a team member in general falls but to say you need to replace the one with another is just a foolish idea in and of itself.
Look, i get it. As someone who has had this argument a couple of times now with friends and random people on the internet and have now for some crazy reason made a large written reasoning why Blastoise is the best starter specifically in the generation 1 remakes that I get it. I love pokemon and I love nuzlockes in general because of how fun they are and can be. I also have nostalgia for certain pokemon in general. Heck, my favorite pokemon isn't even that good and most of my favorites are just bad in general but when we look at how good something is we can't just look at one angle and express that it's this specific reason and thus for all reasons this pokemon is the best. Blastoise out performs all other starters in Kanto. It also out performs most other pokemon in general in a nuzlocke scenario. It has some of the best moves any one can use and it also has great stats. Typing is not important compared to if your pokemon is able to not die. Again this also comes down to rules set up by the person playing the nuzlocke. Remember, the main 3 rules are as follows. Name it, First encounter only, and If it faints it is gone forever. With those in mind, not knowing what we can get and only being able to choose our starters, Squirtle is the best choice to make.

Who is the best Dead Island character?
I know the game has been out for god knows how long now (9 years) but oddly enough there is no real place to find out who the best dead island character is. So as a person who has played the game to death on 3 different consoles as well as riptide, getting every character up to max level using both fury and not fury I’m going to throw my hat into this non existent argument and finally say who is the best character in dead island. Firstly I am NOT a fan of the fury system. I never used it in the first game and only used it in the second one because I ran out of things to get on the combat and survival trees. Even now, I would much rather actually just use those trees because in the end, fury is fine, but just not my thing. So let’s make this argument based on specifically the combat and survival trees and how each character is meant to be built. However, I know people actually would be “outraged” to not hear me put my idea on who has the best rage ability so I’ll at least delve into who has the best and the worst. So for me the best is Logan and the worst is everyone else for different reasons. So the reason why Logan is the best is he can do ranged attacks and hit 2 people at one time and deal a shit ton of damage to any style of enemy. It’s just an overloaded ability. The reason why the other 3 are about even is this, Sam has to get into really close range which is fine, he will heal. Purna gets a gun which in this game, guns are actually not that great. Lastly Xian Mei is pretty frail and her weapon in general has no distance to allow you to attack the zombies. Now in certain circumstances sure, they are fine and Purna does really well against humans but your rage should probably be used on something like a hoard and hoards of humans is a little lacking and when they show up they are spaced a little bit apart and that just makes it not worth the effort when you can just aim and shoot them in the head EZPZ. Now on to who the best characters are and why. I’m going to write these in the order who I think is worst to best. A  lot of people would disagree with me on this but again, we’re not talking about anything other than combat and survival. The game isn’t hard enough on any character to really need fury and again, I personally do not like the feel of it. So with that in mind, here is the first character on our list. Purna - I can hear that anger and hate and backlash from the non existent group of people not reading this. You see many people think Purna is this amazing character because she uses guns and also deals more damage with her survival tree. I’m not so sure on that one. Yeah she does boost peoples numbers but half of that is taken away if you don’t play with people and the other part is for a gun character she kind of gets shafted. Lets compare her to the others in a sort of way. See logan, He’s kind of the person she has more power than. Logan in his normal build without taking into account his main style of play deals less damage than Purna because she has 2 upgrades total that power her main weapon. Guns. The second is she has knives which allows her to deal more damage with a rarer weapon type in the beginning of the game. Knives are in general not easy to come around at first and even then they are in general lacking in the whole “being useful after one strike” department. Sure I’m being hyperbolic on that part but still, Knives and blades kinda die easily. Yes she does have an ability to raise the endurance on her melee weapons but let’s face it. It’s all about guns. So what’s wrong with that? Well, Let’s be honest. Guns kinda suck dick in this game and to top it off they’re rare in the first act and only really show up in the second act on. Now the second part of that is ammunition is also kind of even more rare. You can make ammo in some cases but you need the items, and be later in a play through and by then, well, you should have enough chances to get ammo that you don’t need to craft it and with the dlc you can just go buy it when you need it at the “arena”. So what else does she have in her offensive skill tree? Well she has the ability to gain stamina when she kills someone, oh be still my beating heart. A gun user who can replenish stamina. What a great combo. Gets real tiring to pull that trigger I am so out of breath thinking about it. Don’t get me started on the stamina lowered when you fight a horde of enemies ability since we all know how much those guns need stamina. Next is the fact that in general she will deal overall less boosted damage from her abilities that she uses to upgrade her primary form of combat. Yes, I know she has a skill that boosts her boosts but let me get to that in a moment. She has several things like increased elemental effects on attacks, critical hit chance, decreased reload time and bullet penetration boosts. Those are ok, but are we really not using the shot gun to fight hordes of zombies or using a single bullet from a gun who just shocks people or lights them on fire? Her offensive skills lack in areas where they should be focused on guns. Yes she does have a skill that deals more damage with modified weapons but to be fair everyone does. Her survival tree is lacking as well in that she doesn’t have the ability to survive like everyone else. Everyone in the game has the ability to augment their healing. Purna? She can instant revive sometimes after death. What does this do? It cuts 7 seconds off of your wait time in death. How cool is that? It’s not. Just wait 7 seconds. The rest of the kit? Let’s take a look. Repair cost and durability is up on weapons. After I get to max level on Purna I generally stop using melee on weapons. I generally just shoot everything since I can always get ammo no problem. I will either make it with my excess stuff or I’ll but it outright. So fixing things is never a thought. All increase XP abilities are worthless and should never be taken ever. This is again one of the reasons I don’t like fury. I can get XP from missions and playing. I don’t need your dumb weapon for 10 seconds and an XP boost. She has a chance to not stop attacking but if you are ranged like a gun user would be than you don’t need it. Then you have a better chance to find rare loot and lastly, you have make, find and carry more bullets. These are her main things to use. As I said, there just isn’t enough here. (one important note to put is that she also has an ability to deal more damage to men, and as great as that is, it’s not going to win any favors. It’s great because all the special zombies are all men and half the enemies in the game are all men, and all the humans you fight, are all men. Xian Mei - Xian is a fun character to some degree and as much as I like the idea of her being an assassin/doctor I find that she still somewhat lacks. See like Sam she wants to wield 2 handed weapons because there is enough force for her to actually chop limbs off which is her main thing but we all know there are enough mods to give B the ability to also do that. So her biggest boon is actually no longer there. Her combat tree is pretty good in that it actually has things to use for Damage, Damage, and more damage. You can deal straight up damage. You can do Dots AKA damage over time with bleeding and in general poison which is what most blades do. Lastly besides her bad skills that aren’t even worth looking at she can insta kill sometimes but very rarely and she can also deal more damage to people who are almost dead. On the opposite side of the coin she heals for a massive amount of health with med kits. Almost 2X the amount when you use one. However, she does lack in this department for a reason. In general she can be harder to kill with her spectre ability but in general Med kit’s are hella expensive and a little rare sometimes. Yes you will get enough but let’s face it. You are frail with Xian and getting in super close with early game knives is not always the best. Later in the game she’s fine but her lack of defensive skill tree abilities is the main problem for her.  Logan - Logan is usually seen as the best besides Purna for his damage, But his utility is actually where it is at. As the jack of all trades he can do everything and the most important part in this game that is passed over is survivability. Yes I know Sam and Logan are kinda “easy” but here is the thing. Survival in this game is what it is about. Dealing more damage? Survive easier. Healing more damage? Survive easier. Buying and selling and getting more money? Survive easier. All skill trees are to make you better. Some just are better at it. Logan can just do all of this but not as well as Sam. But what can Logan do is the real question. Firstly he has the range down of Purna. The thing is, that I’m pretty sure he can throw farther than she can shoot. Mostly because he has a farther distance than others with his throws. Sure he can use guns, but let’s face it. Throwing is what he is meant to do and guns are better on people than zombies. His weapons are also meant to be bladed so they have a chance of in general doing a shit ton of damage as well as cutting limbs off. Sometimes you can cut a head off and insta kill a zombie. Next, he deals more damage with knives when he throws them and in general because he does one handed weapons better than anyone else. Also he can crit pretty much half the time with each throw. Now for survival he’s got it all. A chance to get back his weapons half the time and lastly he heals from one of the easiest items to find in the game. Alcohol. Now in general the being drunk part isn’t all that bad. Just stand still and you’ll be fine, and even fighting when drunk isn’t the worst. Lastly he also can have one of the highest or the highest health and stamina in the game with his ability to just outright get stats from abilities. This is why he is in second place. Sam B - Why is Sam best? Besides his killer music he has the best kit in the game. When you start out you will be finding blunt weapons easier than anything else. Sam uses those and boosts his damage for them. He already increases his weapons already high endurance. He also has one of the best and most important stats on his side. Force. Force breaks bones, and cuts off limbs, With a bladed weapon on a heavy force stat you will be shredding limbs like no other. Almost all of your important abilities are going to boost damage and endurance with your weapon making you a force to be reckoned with. However his main appeal is in his survival tree. You have built in healing. Every minute you are just doing nothing or out of combat you heal 20% of your health. It’s not a high number but it’s pretty damn good since it’s always on. What’s better is that you also soak damage up with abilities. At most you can stop a total of 75% melee damage and guns deal 78% less. That with your ability to heal will keep you going for a while. Sure it can be a little “boring” to some who in general don’t want easy mode. But we are talking about the best kit here. That’s also the main thing people would argue against this. Liking a certain kit and finding the difficulty of the game with certain characters to be what they desire. It’s fine to like the guns of Purna or the ease of play with Sam. Either way in the end all that really is important is that we love this game even through all of its faults.

Hell in a Cell is a problem and how to fix PPV’s in WWE
You know what is stupid? Having a Hell in a Cell every year. In fact, having 3 every year seems really stupid since HIAC is meant to be this special occasion when someone hates you so much they want to hurt you badly. See I remember when I was young and the second Hell in a Cell came out and the referee was so traumatized he killed himself off camera. Now is this a little excessive? Very much so but it was a different time. Or maybe I’m depraved and this is all a fever dream I’m having but still, HIAC is meant to be horrifying for those who enter. Remember folks, anyone who enters has their career shortened. It is meant to be that bad of a time. The problem is since it started there are people in the WWE who have been in many who are still in great states in their career. Here is a few Randy Orton - 8 Roman Reigns - 4 Seth Rollins - 3 Kevin Owens - 2 Bray Wyatt - 2 The thing is that these men are all main eventers and have been in more than one. This is because the PPV list is kind of lacking. So I figured out a list of PPV that can be what we watch every year with a couple other things to not. First let me state this. There are 3 PPV that should not be a thing. 1: Hell in a cell - No need to explain since I already did. Again, need to keep HIAC special for those days when someone really needs to get it handed to them. Especially since the idea of something harsh can be done with other types of matches. In fact there are even some matches that need to be given special rules. But that’s another story. 2: Night of champions - Here’s the thing. Every title should be defended at every PPV. Whether it’s on the pre show or is on the main event. Or, you know, Have them on the main roster shows more and have them defended there if they can’t be put on the PPVS. Sure some story lines come to a head and need to be on a PPV. But if a title is important or needed than put it on the PPV. Also to be completely fair, it doesn’t ALWAYS have every title on the line. So why have a PPV that is specifically based on all titles when you don’t even do that? 3:Great balls of fire - In fact, don’t just name your PPV dumb shit. I know that is harsh, but I know no one who liked the name and it could have been any of the other names that were thought of before this. And since it aired? It never aired again. With that out of the way let’s look at the list of PPV we have. All 12 of them. But first with the special ones. Look, it’s uncomfortable for some people but WWE is a business and they made a business deal with Saudi Arabia and like my opinion doesn’t really matter on it but they exist so let’s get them out of the way. They are all to some degree glorified house shows and are there for the fun of it so why not have one every 4 months? Keeping The Greatest Royal Rumble, Crown Jewel, and Super Show-Down are all fine events to have. Their should however, NOT HAVE THE STORY LINES ALREADY BEING DONE BECAUSE PEOPLE MIGHT NOT WANT TO WATCH THEM. This is a show that is as WWE put it meant to try and bring change to Saudi and I think they should do that with some fun stuff as well as more progress things when they can. More women, More gimmick matches, More Mansoor winning. More things that are not a story line thing. Lacy Evans and Natalya fighting over there was super important to the world and its progression and sure, it might not have been “riveting” and might have been something we’ve seen numerous times but still. It was women, fighting in Saudi. Next we need some stuff to put on when we need random stuff for whatever reason. Those can be In your house, Evolution, Halftime showdown, and Starrcade. Sometimes it would be nice to just have some stuff for whenever. These would help. We want more womens PPV and if you just hold random Evolutions you can have anyone from the entire company in it. Put on dream matches and so on. Now let’s get to the good stuff. Here are my choices of the PPV including the big 4. 1: Royal Rumble - This is the first month and should always be held this month. the reason? It gives 2 months of story build up to Wrestlemania for the rumble winner to fight people who want his spot such as the second place person or anyone else. 2: Fast lane - Here’s the deal. Anyone who goes in this and wants to fight surely can’t do it for the title. I mean clearly you can but having the upper card title up for grabs kinda ruins the moment when whoever wins the rumble gets the chance to call out and fight the person they choose. Having that as a chance to lose the belt and have it different people seems really strange. But hey, that’s just my opinion. 3: Roadblock - Goes well with Fast lane name wise and it’s the thing right before Wrestlemania. See the story line here doesn’t matter so much as it’s a good name. Story can be anything of a rematch between the two final people of the rumble. Another two people who were the final 4 of the rumble or something. I don’t write story so much as this is just the third PPV. 4: Wrestlemania - This is THE big one. This is your main event. What else is there to say about it? 5: Money in the bank - Time to have your first title defense or have your champ get challenged one more time by the winner or even maybe the second winner of the royal rumble and maybe have the original winner go after the other title. Thing is this night is based on one main thing. 6 men and 6 women going into a ladder match and coming out with a briefcase.  6: King of the ring - So you’ve had months to set up a championship tournament with a bunch of other people and some matches with belts that could be up on the line. Now with 4 main titles on the line and 3 matches in the king of the ring tournament. That is a total of 7 matches that can be put on that night for a good PPV. The king of the ring would be able to be pushed into the main event status or upper card too.  7: Great american bash - Goes great with the 4th of july. Has a good name for it and everything. 8: Summerslam - One of the big 4.  9: Breaking point - Just another PPV 10: Extreme rules - Here is what you could replace your HIAC PPV with. This is any single match that needs to be done that is “extreme” in nature. No rules, no holds barred, no dq, no countout, falls count anywhere, and so on. There are so many match types that equal out to things that can be done once a year but are now guaranteed Every other PPV can have these but they are not guaranteed. But Extreme rules? It needs them and thrives off of them like HIAC does with a single match. The reason to replace HIAC with this is because having both in a year lowers the impact of HIAC and makes these matches and anything else lose their effect. If HIAC is so damn important and special. Than these are nothing but generic matches in comparison. 11: Survivor series - Having all the shows fight each other, and having the champions from each show fight each other and even lastly having some people represent each brand makes it special. No story lines should here except when it involves the teams. 12: New years revolution - Perfect name to finish off the year. Now I know I didn’t give much of a reason since there is no real story except people fighting people. Unless we have something concrete like I was making up a years worth of PPV and not just giving what should be in each month the only real thing is when a thing is placed because of its name. These are all fantastic PPV names for great times.

My idea to help out the wrestlers of WWE.
I’ve been a large fan of WWE for a long time now and I’ve noticed a major single problem that could really help out for people on the roster. Now it’s a kind of strange idea but it’s to me a great one that could help out many people on the roster. Heck no real change needed to implement it except maybe one or two things really but this change isn’t going to ruin the company in general but it might in general make things better. Now I know I’m beating around the bush but I figure if anyone reads this that is in the company might want a little assurance that I’m not just an angry fan who wants major change because I’m unhappy with the company. So what is this change? More championship titles. So what do I mean when I say more championship titles? Well lets look at the most successful time in the WWE and see the one thing that made it one of the most memorable times in the company. If we look at the attitude era one of the most prominent things everyone that ever talks about that era ever mentions is that there was many people from different levels of importance wrestling each week and stories with many people. Now sure many people could talk about how it could “use better writing” but sometimes stories wont always cut it when the roster is so huge but people in lower than main event status sit around and do nothing or in general get thrown into places they probably don’t need to be on the card. For example when the 24/7 title came out a lot of people just got thrown into it and sure, that’s fine, but I’m sure they could be doing more. Also Many upper card people also in general got thrown into the mid card because they needed more people to do stuff with the IC title when Brock Lesnar had the Universal championship. So what amount of titles do we need? That’s entirely dependent on if it is the male or female roster. For the male roster we need to look at what we have on it. Firstly we have many people who are either not there all the time such as Lesnar or people who are part timers who don’t show up often and just want to work maybe once every 4 months. Is that an issue? Not at all. See I think that having someone like Goldberg come in and be Goldberg for a short while is fine. I think Lesnar is one of the best things on the roster as well as the most legitimate man on the roster because even though Matt Riddle is indeed one of the most legit wrestlers in ability of fighting Lesnar is much larger and looks more threatening. Remember, this isn’t a bad thing for Lesnar to LOOK impressive because in general when that man wants to go he can and if given a chance to have matches with people he wants than he will work hard. So what do we do? We turn the WWE championship into the main title of the company. Make the person who has it the man and image of the company itself being your biggest draw. People can challenge him once every 3 months on the big shows of Wrestlemania or Summer slam and on. This would be one of those things where the person doesn’t even have to show up often and the person challenging him for the title can do all the promotional stuff. Heck you can even take this as your main title when you go to Saudi Arabia. Anyone can challenge for this belt. So if you wanted a small exhibition for the belt you could do so. Skies the limit. This belt holder can go to any show any time if they want to be on television as well. This allows the belt to literally be the companies belt. That means Raw and Smackdown. That means NXT and even UK. This means even b shows like The Main Event. Main titles should be kept separate from this belt. It’s fine to have 2 different rosters and two different belts but compared to the yester years of the Attitude era where the roster was stacked while not being TOO big we have a large roster on both shows. This isn’t a bad thing as if you want your company to be 2 rosters than each roster NEEDS to have a large amount of people. The main problem is this. Cards in WWE like the upper mid and lower cards are kinda “wonky” in that people from NXT when they come to the main roster are treated as lower card members. This is in itself its own issue as anyone who is amazing in NXT that wins their equivalent of the main championship isn’t a part of the same card. So when thrown into the lower card they need belts to strive for. Each show will have 3 male held belts. The upper card, mid card, and lower card belts. Each show can have their own style of belts. Upper card belts would be so, The Universal title and the World Heavyweight Championship. Sure it was retired to become the Universal title but why not have both? Each belt is relatively the same in “level” so they could freely be moved to any show and in general no company that airs the show would feel slighted that the other show has the WWE championship. The belt that replaced the WWE title on the show it is on. Whoever has the title gets to keep it and things can go as they had been since before the change. Once you’re a part of the main title picture that should be where you’re at. The reason why is lower card belts are made for the lower card people. The mid card would have to remain the same but the bigger issue here is we would have to treat the US championship at the same level as the IC title. We can’t have people from the upper card coming in here. Like Seth Rollins is fantastic but he should be in the upper card and not here. The Miz is one of the best of his time and as much as he was turned into the best IC champ in my eyes I think he should have stayed in the upper card. When you get to the upper card you need to stay there regardless. Mid card is to make a real name for yourself and if you’re here you might be here forever. The thing is though that sometimes the IC title in general is treated as the “superior” title of the two. When you have one brand sure it is the mid card title of the two but when you have them on separate brands than they can’t be treated as anything other than what they are. Which is currently the mid/lower card belt. To fix this we need these belts to be mid card belts and equal in stature. Both are prestigious and have a long storied history of some of the best champions of all time. For this to actually be true we need a lower card belt. Back in the early 2000′s and the late 90′s we had 3 cards and each had a belt and a chunk of others that people could win in the grander scheme of things. We had things like the European championship, the hardcore championship, and even the light heavyweight championship. We’ve also had titles from earlier times with Canadian championship, junior heavyweight championship, cruiserweight championship. Let’s be fair. With the 24/7 championship we have the main thing that people really loved about the hardcore title and that was Crash having it be able to be fought for anywhere any time. With the Cruiserweight championship still existing we don’t need to “bring it back” or even have a light heavyweight championship/junior heavyweight championship. What we do need is for the Canadian championship and the European championship to be brought back. The reasons why is that we have the United States championship and the Intercontinental championship. One is pretty much the right side of the world on a US map and the other is the Us/left side of the world. The Canadian belt is on the left and the European is on the right side. Make them the lower card belts and you can now have 3 different belts for 3 different cards. Building up performers is important. To really build up performers we really in general need some special belts and we do have those. I can understand fully not bring back the Hardcore championship since injury and the probability of more concussions so let’s not bring it back because we have the 24/7 title. As for things like the cruiserweight championship having anyone who weighs 205 pounds or less is great because it adds some realism to the sports part of the sports entertainment aspect. Many people comment on how it’s unrealistic for someone like Finn Balor to go after the belt while Brock Lesnar has it. Now I don’t agree with that aspect as this isn’t a “real” fight where a different weight class would murder someone. This is sports entertainment and it’s fantastic to see someone that’s a lower weight class fight a behemoth of a man. Underdog stories are fantastic that way. But this being the weight restricted class allows for people who are on a more “equal level” to fight each other and make it more “realistic” What we need is something that people can win and allow them to be either completely new who is to be pushed and get a spotlight to see where they can go on the card, or for a way for people who are a little over seasoned to put over younger talent or for them to get some spotlight as well. Let’s look at 2 different types of people with those examples. For example we have Humberto Carillo who unless you watched 205 live or NXT you wouldn’t know who this guy is. He was given a huge push when he got to the main roster. If we had a belt to throw on him since we want him to have a main spot we could give him this final belt. It would put him into the picture and show “hey, we have faith in this guy on the main roster.” People who are new and haven’t had a chance to shine could go straight for the belt and get it. As for the people who are seasoned? Let’s look at someone such as Goldust. I know he is no longer with the company but giving him the belt to show he is still worth something to the company allowing him to put over some younger talent would serve to make the belt look legitimate as well. Sure we can look at Goldust and say “he’s a joke character” or isn’t “worth it” but we all see now that he has so much to give compared to what he was doing before. People like Booker T, or even Jerry the king Lawler could even win this belt and wrestle with it. Allowing older people and people who are relatively retired to have the belt and not have to do too much with it. It wouldn’t even need a program like other belts. This belt could also allow people to move from show to show so if you needed or wanted someone to move over to another show you could have them move to any place and the winner could get the belt and go anywhere and the loser could stay on that show. What would we call the belt? Well if WWE was willing to the TV championship is a great name as it’s a belt worthy of being on TV more than a PPV. Women would need their own set of belts and a complete overhaul. Here’s the thing. We have a ton of women wrestlers BUT in general they are still limited. Let’s look at the womens roster. Alexa Bliss Asuka Becky Lynch Dana Brooke Lana Lacey Evans Liv Morgan Mandy Rose Mia Yim Mercedes Martinez Naomi Nia Jax Nikki Cross Peyton Royce Reckoning Ruby Riott Shayna Baszler Bayley Bianca Belair Billie Kay Carmella Ember Moon Liv Morgan Mickie James Natalya Ruby Riott Sasha Banks Sonya Deville Tamina Zelina Vega Aliyah Candice LeRae Chelsea Green Dakota Kai Indi Hartwell Io Shirai Jessamyn Duke Jessi Kamea Kacy Catanzaro Kayden Carter Marina Shafir Raquel González Rhea Ripley Santana Garrett Scarlett Bordeaux Shotzi Blackheart Tegan Nox Toni Storm Vanessa Borne Xia Li. This is a loaded roster but, let’s be fair, the amount of wrestlers here is very limited compared to the male roster so having them split into 3 different groups makes it a little less like we have this many people to instead look like this. Raw -  Alexa Bliss Asuka Becky Lynch Dana Brooke Lana Lacey Evans Liv Morgan Mandy Rose Mia Yim Mercedes Martinez Naomi Nia Jax Nikki Cross Peyton Royce Reckoning Ruby Riott Shayna Baszler Smackdown -  Bayley Bianca Belair Billie Kay Carmella Liv Morgan Mickie James Natalya Ruby Riott Sasha Banks Sonya Deville Tamina Zelina Vega NXT -  Aliyah Candice LeRae Chelsea Green Dakota Kai Ember Moon Indi Hartwell Io Shirai Jessamyn Duke Jessi Kamea Kacy Catanzaro Kayden Carter Marina Shafir Raquel González Rhea Ripley Santana Garrett Scarlett Bordeaux Shotzi Blackheart Tegan Nox Toni Storm Vanessa Borne Xia Li. Those rosters now look very small. Here is the main thing. Some of those people are in tag championships such as Nia and Shayna and there are other women who are in tag division such as the Riott squad, Mandy and Dana, Peyton and Lacy. As much as I like the tag teams and feel there should be tag teams it’s kinda hard in general to take them seriously since it is lacking and tag teams kind of fall apart. What’s the answer? Well, More women in the roster for 1 but have all women on all rosters. Sure we would have some people from NXT fight people from Smackdown and Raw but we would have a larger roster of Women. The roster right now has a lack of women in the main event in the main roster. Those women are  Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Nia Jax, Shayna Baszler, Bayley, Carmella, Mickie James, Natalya, Sasha Banks. These are All people who have been champion on the main roster. Nothing against NXT. but the point is even if we look there it will still have a “lack” of main eventers. If everyone was on both shows we could still have the champs of any show but it would allow them to move around trying to get the main titles. Another thing you could do is make the women have one mid/lower card title. This would allow women in the lower card to show what they can do and allow it like the tag belts to go across all shows. This is a lot of information to take in but I feel this would help the roster out for amazing talent such as Chad Gable, or all of The Hurt Business, or heck everyone who needs a push. There is nothing else I could think of that would help out more than giving people a chance to shine in that company.

Dragonball GT is the worst series of all the Dragonball series.
I recently watched a video created by Totally Not Mark about which series is better out of GT and Super when it came to the franchise in general and part of me remembered my huge dislike towards the series so I figured I’d get on my keyboard and do that good ol’ fashioned “post an opinion” onto Tumblr because that is what the site is mostly for. So Instead of posting about how I think super is better I’m going to just post why the hell GT is a horrible show to me and the things it gets right and why in general the show is horrible. Now before I get into that context I am in no way a super fan or the type of person who says that subs are better than dubs because we all love anime and shouldn’t restrict others from liking their thing because we fill we are superior to each other based on our willingness to read or because we think “that the voice actors in Japan are so much better and you lose the feeling you get when you watch Americans try and fail at it”. Look as a filthy casual who usually never gets angry or upset at most things my reasons for disliking GT aren’t going to be what most people would see as a bad thing or even say the reasons I like GT are the exact same reasons and if you can come to appreciate the reasons I give that’s cool and if you disagree that is fine as well as long as it leads to civil discourse because again, it’s anime and no one is superior in their likes to another just because of some arbitrary reasons. In the end, it’s all just cartoons. So before I get into why i dislike GT at every turn I see it show up I have to praise it for what it does right to me. That is the visuals of the how the characters looks. See I get that it’s like 10 years into the future or something like that and some people now look way too old like Krillin or just don’t show up ever unless it doesn’t matter but with who we got they look great and I would never take away how good they look. Also the villains as much as I will get into them are actually kinda cool in their own right and aren’t the worst ideas just implemented in such a poor manner that any real good they do is kinda mitigated by the fact that they are almost identical to some other villain in the end. So now with that out of the way I’m going to get into why GT is one of the worst anime of all time. At least to me.  So what makes Dragonball so great is it is a comedy genre even near the final seasons. They either had shitty reasons to amass an army or in general did silly things like make a holiday after themselves when they finally succeeded in ruling the world but in the end the genre of action anime is pretty much parodied with how it is a child who goes in and defeats these muscle men. We have a child who was never really raised by a normal adult trying to fit into a world outside of his normal views and fights these villains who against normal people would lose but in the end they all end up losing to a little boy. It’s a nice adventure with laughs and enough action to really get people to enjoy it. As much as I like Dragonball I never really liked it as much as Z. Yes I do know that it is mostly just Z over here in the west but I don’t see them really being the same manga with the shift in tone that the two had and the styles of adventure they ended up having in Z is so vastly different in comparison that to me they are totally different series when compared to each other. Also I was growing up when Z first came over to America so I didn’t see Dragonball until after it made its first debut on Toonami. So again, totally different series to me.  As for Z? Well Z is my favorite anime of all time. It’s by far not the best anime ever but I do believe it is the best action anime of all time for a couple of reasons. 1: I love how in the end they just fight better versions of the previous final boss. Vegeta? That’s just stronger Raditz who can transform. Frieza? That’s just stronger Vegeta who can transform multiple times. Cell? Thats just stronger Frieza who can transform multiple times, Regenerate, Use everyones powers, and also absorb people. You get the picture by now. Everyone else who comes after is just a “better version” of the last and that tickles my fancy. 2: It helped make certain parts of the genre of shonen manga via the introduction of tropes. Transformations weren’t really a thing before Z came along and pretty much every action anime since then has used tropes that Z has introduced. 3: It still holds up today in being a good anime and manga and in general the popularity of it was so big that even now when I’m a 30 something year old that it got a new series to continue even after GT finished it off in Super. These are the reason I think it’s the best action anime of all time but again, feel free to disagree if you want to.  As for why GT is such a shit show to me it all comes down to the fact that it introduces absolutely nothing new when it comes to itself that even the villains and the characters are a little in general copies of other characters. That and no one matters compared to Goku. If we start it off sure we have people like Trunks and Pan and even “insert comedy character who is only here because plot that could just be ignored and even removed” A.K.A. Giru. See the series starts off pretty generic in that Goku is training Uub up in the look out. He just disappeared and is finishing his time in what I assume was a 10 year training session. We are introduced to our first “villains” in Pilaf and his crew. They are finding out about not only gods look out but they also find a new set of dragonballs. Convenient plot details that are either confusing or just there to set up the series. Firstly before I get into that why was this never said before, Why did Bulma never pick up on these dragonballs, Why did pilaf just now find them if he’d been searching his entire life after dragonball? So many questions in general but still. Not the point. The point is this, they don’t have a real reason except to introduce our first main villains. Pilaf and his gang. A little weird when you look at it cause Pilaf has been bested so many times that him succeeding now seems like a stupid thing to happen. Thankfully his success is only to again, push the story. Goku and his gang have to now search for the dragonballs. Which is exactly what happened in Dragonball. This time, it’s across the universe. This is where my ability to really in general compare the shows ends. That is until in general I get to the final stretch. See there are very few things I can equate to Dragonball besides the adventure of the day aspect. You have the obvious nod towards Oolong with Zoonama who both want to marry a girl and end up falling for a boy in drag. You have the fact of Goku with a tech savvy Briefs person as well as a spunky fighter. Goku is a kid. Maybe a couple other things if I looked it up and compared but the main thing is that first section of GT is based heavily on Dragonball in general. The final stretch part begins with the “Red Ribbon Army” copy in the General Rildo part with Dr Myuu who is just also a copy of Android 20. So after this part finishes it kicks into the saiyan saga of DBZ. Baby is by far a complete knock off of 3 villains in DBZ being comprised of Vegeta, Frieza, and Garlic Jr. Why is this so? let’s face it, If you compare those 3 with him its basically a one for one beat on what he does with someone else. Firstly he’s in the body of Vegeta and even when he starts losing he goes and just becomes a great ape. Pretty much what Vegeta does in the first saga of Z. As for Frieza they can both survive in space, Has multiple different forms and lastly he hates saiyans. Now sure the reason is different but the disdain for them is pretty much comparing blue to a lighter shade of blue that looks just like blue. We could even mention that Baby is like Cell in that they are both made by science but the comparisons end there. As for Garlic Jr Baby does the same thing in taking control of people and making them the same as with the black water mist. These are what make Baby pretty much a whole of 3 separate people. Next comes the Androids and cell. Super 17 is pretty much just perfect cell. You have past villains returning to take out Goku. Those of which are Frieza and Cell. Which funny enough Frieza comes back but dies by trunks who warns of 2 androids coming to fight against Goku and kill him. Which comes in the forms of Dr Myuu and Dr Gero. Both of which, are you know, not the main androids being talked about. In fact it’s actually 17 and hell 17. Both of which are going to fuse and make one super android who changes forms into basically cell in that he can absorb energy and also has infinite energy as well. These are basically the main parts except that the end takes multiple people to fight off and kill Super 17. To which they then wish back people with the dragonballs because one of the Z fighters died and they want to bring them back. Seems that it would be fine except for the small little detail of its an evil dark dragon who when after granting the 7th wish he creates these evil dragons. Before I get into those dragons lemme question this. If Kami and Piccolo fused and the dragonballs stopped existing for a bit and it took Dende a new person to create new dragonballs wouldn’t he know of the evil dragons as well as also in general start a new chain thus stopping 7 evil dragons from existing? Oh well, at least we get 7 different dragons for Specifically only Goku to fight against. I can see people saying how can you compare the evil dragons to Buu which it’s a lot easier than you would think. How many different forms of Buu are there? would you guess about maybe 7? Cause there are 7 different forms of Buu. 6 of which are different forms when he absorbs other people. So lets take it this way. Omega Shenron also absorbs 6 different “people” in the 6 different dragonballs that aren’t his. Sure, he only gets one more form in that he has now been transformed into Omega from Syn Shenron but still. Transformations are a check. So what are the 7 different forms of Buu? 1:Kid Buu 2: Buff Buu which is when he absorbs the southern Supreme Kai. 3: Fat Buu which he gets from absorbing the Supreme Kai. 4: Evil old Buu. 5: Super buu. 6: Super buu with Gotenks absorbed. 7: Super Buu with Piccolo absorbed. 8: Piccolo with Gohan absorbed. Now some of you might be saying “that’s 8 different forms of Buu and not 7″ But in the end Syn and Omega are both different “forms” thus making 8 different forms of dragons as well. The main part that gets annoying though is how they defeat Shenron. Firstly they use fusion and then don’t win even though they could have in the end. Why? Arbitrary reasons. See in Z it was because Vegito wanted to be fused to save the others. In GT it’s cause they needed to defeat him with the spirit bomb. Just like they did with Buu. Both spirit bombs are also involving a larger amount of people than normal. In Z it was all of earth. Every person. In GT it was the whole universe. That’s not even the final part of how it’s the same. At the end of Z Goku says goodbye to his friends and fucks off. GT does the exact same thing. The show is honestly pretty much a beat for beat of Dragonball and Z. It adds nothing to the universe and what it does add  is half assed. Things like Vegeta having an epiphany that Goku is better than him twice at the final end villain or having Goku lose a tournament as a child or stuff like that fill in the cracks of the shit cake that is GT with more shit that doesn’t help or make it better. GT even fails to make what it had that was great good. The use of a new level of SSJ to defeat Baby was also used in the same ways of how Kaioken wasn’t enough to beat Frieza and then SSJ was also attained then. Everything is on a bigger scale while being comparable to the smaller scale before it. The reason I don’t compare this with Super as that even when it takes from earlier seasons of DBZ or anything else it is fresh in comparison. Goku and Vegeta doing their rivalry? not beat for beat. Older characters? They have use. Repeat villains? Frieza is almost a completely new person with his arc in that he now knows he needs to train and actually does and also does some good and even respects Goku. That’s why I don’t compare the two because they are incomparable. GT? It’s pretty much a shitty version of what came before it.

How to play Def jam Fight for N.Y.
So I was watching Up Up Down Down today and saw people playing Def jam Fight for N.Y. and how they could use some help on how to understand the game a little. Since I really appreciate them and all they do I figured I could devote a little time to help them out in a nice little Tumblr post. So without further ado I will explain how to fight, what each style does, and the stats. Fight in def jam is pretty simple. You have 3 offensive buttons and a couple defensive ones. your first 2 main buttons are strikes. This is your punch and kick. Like most games, punches are faster but deal less damage while kicks are slower and deal more. This is true for everyone regardless of style. There are also grapples. Grapples allow you to either hit or throw a person in a direction. Hits can either be a strike or they can be a slam like move. Throwing people is really good if you want to hit them with a powerful move against a wall as a wall always adds more damage. Throwing them into the crowd depending on how much people like you will get the crowd to either hit them or hold them while you beat them. But if they dislike you they probably just shove them back into you. Next is the defense buttons. You have the run which can be used offensively to do a running attack but is also used for positioning and getting out to heal. The second one is the block button which blocks everything from heavy attacks to normal ones but cannot block a grapple. You can combo attacks into a grapple which is really important to remember as some if not most of the styles of fighting rely on grapples and blocking can allow you to counter a hit if done correctly. I mentioned heavy attacks and that’s kind of where the styles come into play. Firstly there are 5 but you can have up to 3 while most characters in character selection have 1-2. This gives them better stats to use. The worst fighting style to me is martial arts mostly because it has a special way of giving people in the red a K.O. and that is to run up a wall and time your strike to allow you to jump off and strike whoever you are aiming at and this will K.O. a person only if they are in the red. Other styles are as follows. You have submissions which focus on a certain thing and they have grapples that also focus on a specific area. When you power grapple you will go into a button mash section which allows you to put that person down and the more damage you deal the longer you have in button mashing time. So focusing early on to a specific area is best such as arms and legs. Which BTW your stats are based on how strong those things are. So if an enemy has weak legs. Focus the legs and they’ll lose faster. The next style is wrestling. Wrestling deals a but ton of damage with grapples but only has 2 strikes in its combo. Usually everyone else gets 4. So you will need to time your grapples better and when you do they will deal a ton of damage.A power grapple will help you knock out an enemy. This part is important and again I cannot stress this part. You can only K.O. an enemy if they’re in red. Even your special has to have them in red. No matter what it must start in red. Except this next style. Kick boxer has deadly strikes which are fast. However, when you heavy grapple them you go into a striking thing where you can hit off many attacks as long as they have lowered health. The lower the health the more strikes and faster you’ll be able to K.O. a person. Lastly is the street fighter who has a heavy strike K.O. This is good in that you can heavy strike mid combo of regular kicks and punches and just knock someone out. Remember, everything K.O.s when it’s in the red except kick boxer and submissions who just make you tap when your limb health is 0. Final thing on fighting. Right stick is indeed a great thing cause even if you don’t K.O. someone with it finishing moves are more devastating here than from anything in wrestling. Brock lesnars F5 is pathetic compared to almost every finishing move. So tilting the right stick will give you some boost in your special meter. Mostly you want to either run from a person with special or counter them but if you are with your special you gotta get in there and be offensive and strike and then grapple as fast as you can so you can hit that shit hard. As for the stats that’s a no brainer. Each one shows what you excel at in either punches or kicks and what you have the most of. Charisma is the only thing that will get the fans on your side and it only makes them either help you more or deter you from doing your best. So avoid when necessary since they will also give out weapons to those they like as well as beat you with them if you get to close.
