"You can do anything you set your mind to, man..." Flashback Friday. This "medal" is from 2010 at my first #RunDisney event ever. It was a 5k at #Disneyland (the 5k medals were rubber back then and I guess the 5k and the kids races got the same medal) I remember training a good amount for it because I didn't want to stop at all. I wanted to run the whole 3.1 miles without stopping... and I didn't. I remember my legs being really sore, but feeling proud as hell that I had accomplished that. A lot of running events since then, getting better each time (sometimes worse haha) and more experienced each time. And now, 5 months from now on January 12, 2019 to January 13, 2019, I'll be taking on the Goofy, 39.3 miles in 2 days. Last time I was in California, it was 186 or so Instagram posts ago. I left December 19, 2016 to go back home to Central Florida. A lot of great times being back home and love everyone there. 19 months later, I finally got back to California and The Bay on July 7, 2018 and start at Facebook today, July 9, 2018. First saw this spot on Man vs Food. 8 years later, finally got to try it out. Didn't get the crazy Coronary Bypass burger but did order the: KA’MANA WA’NA LEI’YA burger "A scoop of chipotle cream cheese, 3 slices of bacon and spicy pineapple jalapeño jelly on Texas toast..." Medium rare with some tots. Really good burger although only ate half. I dig the humor of the ambiance of this bar (really is a bar since no kids allowed and you have to be at least 21. Dude checks IDs at the door.) The same weekend as the Star Wars Dark Side Half Marathon, my friends from Cali visited Florida in Ft Lauderdale for my boy Ricardo's 30th birthday. A ton of driving since on Thursday, I picked up my bib for the run, then drove downsouth to chill, then went back up Saturday night to rest up, then had the run, then went back down afterwards... but worth it chillin with them because the climax of the weekend was Ricardo popping the question to his new fiance Belen. Well could've been a lot better. Not sure how I set a PR with barely any training just a month ago, but set a Personal Worst WITH training haha but I guess that's how it goes sometimes. At least I finished and still had fun even though it was hot, got calf pain on mile 1 (yes mile 1. Disney runs never fail the first two miles for me), and then got acid reflux right after that; some people smell like Megacon, my phone decided to not work somewhat after mile 8 by blacking out the screen but the audio was still working, but not my music so had to run the remaining course with NO music. But runs at Disney are always fun. Thanks to @babymac03 for running with me at times (you caught up fast even though you started in the last corral and I only caught you the second time after you used the bathroom and waited for pictures) and Victoria for meeting up after to congratulate us as well as all the encouraging words from everyone.
