I don’t think canon events are legit. Think about it, the death scene of Miguel’s daughter looked extremely digital and in the comics, time and time again, Lyla (who interestingly enough controls the digital elements in the HQ) is jealous of Miguel’s happy life and attempts to destroy it. What if this is just Lyla’s way to manipulate Miguel into being closer to her? To take Miguel away from his family?

If there really are certain set in stone, strings of events that are always “canon,” and Miles is a supposed anomaly, wouldn’t Mayday be an anomaly as well?

Peter said that he got back with MJ and had Mayday BECAUSE of Miles.

If Miles was never supposed to become spider-man, never supposed to interfere with the spider-crew or help them get back home, that means he was never supposed to meet Peter B. Parker.

If they never met, Peter B. would’ve still been divorced and would’ve never tried again with MJ, right?

How come Miguel is so tolerant to Mayday despite all of this?

I think it’s because Lyla’s behind all of this, she could’ve said something to Miguel about Miles because she knew Miles interfered with her elaborate web of lies she created to keep Miguel trapped. She egged Miguel on to gather all of these spider-people to stop these so-called anomalies, that SHE created, to keep her web of lies intact.

That’s why Pav’s universe began to endure things that seemed similar to what happened to Miguel by the end of the movie. It’s just another stone Lyla’s willing to step on, to keep Miguel closer.

Also given her name, the ITSV and ATSV are absolutely no strangers to hidden details like this

And they movies follow the comics loosely, just the overall foundations

Another small detail, notice how Lyla acts in the little dialogue she gets.

She’s always peppy it seems and what I’ve learned is people that seem to act like that always have at least one thing to hide.

She seems to show no other display of emotion throughout the little screen time she gets either and I know that is most likely not a mistake

A big part of the saga’s charm is the emotions character show and how the environment and colors reflect it

Lyla’s main color is this relatively sunshine yellow

It a warm color, an inviting color even.

One meant to lure somebody in, she also has tints of orange on her as well.

Funnily enough, BOTH orange and yellow are used as warning signs as well.

For she, misery, loves, longs for company

Desolate mind-scape wishfully blows, murmurs whispers of wishes long forgotten

For misery, oh her sobs as her tears paint the sky, as her tears fall from the clouds

Misery, oh how she provides a facade of solace in these painful moments, these moments

“Gifted” from the great beyond

The solace brings you

Crawling back

For misery, oh how she longs for company as you weep at the closed doors of happiness

Oh that devil, that sweet sirene being

How she loves company

Your envy hidden behind an iron door.

An iron door of a guise, the guise of praise.

My words, my weapon and I never once bared my teeth and spit my venom towards you yet that’s all you did to me.

Your venom burned my skin as the false praise lured me in, to cut my flesh, to spill my blood.

Your words are false, you mean none of the words you spill “affectionately” for now I know what lies behind that iron door.

I know the true meaning of those words now.

All of your praise, “I’m very proud” or “Good job” has grown meaningless to me. You’re no longer a challenge that stands in my way as that praise I once yearned for is meaningless as I stare back into the void of my past.

As I stare back and realise, reflect. That praise wasn’t praise, it was never affectionate. It was simply masked envy.

Masked envy for I wield the very weapon you could only dream of wielding with such grace, such ease. I never once bared my weapon against you until one day. I hope my words burn and scar your skin like each of yours have mine.

For now I know what lies behind those doors.

An envy as strong as the iron.
