Splitting pale skin

Bright red bubbling

To the surface

Spilling over the edge

To drip to the floor

Salt coated lips

Quivering

Desperately seeking relief

Thin lines

Evenly distributed

Along the pale canvas

The only variation

Was the depth of the lines

But all the same crimson liquid

Seeped out trailing down

In winding paths

Before pooling on the pale tile

Collecting in volume until

The canvas also laid

Crumpled on the tile

Forever still

Crying about how hard your life was

Every day was about you

A new emergency to be fixed

A crisis needing to be solved

I wish I had known

That you were a walking fire

So I could have saved myself the burns

As your cradled the gun in your hands?

Were there still molten bruises

Mapping your skin?

Were you scared as your finger

Wrapped around the trigger?

At peace?

Did you use his gun,

A silent accusation of blame?

I hope you are at peace now
