saw a poll about dry/humid heat and like OBVIOUSLY everyone preferred dry heat but. would love to know what everyone considers to be “too hot”

me personally it’s a hard cutoff at 75°F. don’t need anything more than that thank you 🫶🫶🫶

A NOTE FROM NIDA MANZOOR (CREATOR/WRITER/DIRECTOR/EXECUTIVE PRODUCER) IN PEACOCK'S PRESS RELEASE: Making season one of We Are Lady Parts was immense for me. It was a trial by fire, but I found my voice, my style and my confidence in creating this show. Most importantly, I found my tribe - from actors and crew to producers and studio execs. So, coming to season two, I was galvanised. The characters, the world, the tone - it was all there, established, and ready to go. Now it was time to turn things up to 11. I wanted to go bolder, sillier, darker and deeper and that is exactly what we strived to do. In season two, we explore the interior lives of each of the women in more depth. Each of them facing new, existential challenges with all the silliness, pratfalls and banter of season one. The music is bigger too - more wild original tunes (penned by me and my siblings) and dare I say it, even better covers. The season overall asks the question of success. What is success? For a punk band - is fame, stadium shows and major record deals the answer? I wanted to explore the uncomfortable tension between art and commerce and ask how much compromise is too much. I'm really proud of what we achieved, and can't wait to share it with old fans and new.

... I was babysitting my 6 yo niece last week, and was rusty with her bedtime routine. PJs and teeth and tucking in the stuffies, easy. Reading three stories, fine. Getting "sneakily" manipulated into five stories, also fine, I'm not going OBJECT to reading more bedtime books. Then I was asked to sing. I did not remember Rock-a-bye Baby correctly. She politely suggested that I could look up the lyrics, dealing 4 pts of psychic damage to this former children's librarian. I weakly counteroffered three rounds of Baa Baa Black Sheep customized to Sesame Street characters, my 3 yo niece's current favorite, and received the world's most polite (devastating) "no, thank you."

Anyway, kids are great, and FYI the yellow sheep is the easiest and multiple things rhyme with Bert.

the best part of SVSS is how relateable shen yuan is. we all have at least 1 piece of media that we're MAD we know so much about and have invested so much time in. it's fucking TERRIBLE but we've gotten in fights online about it. we are invested in 1 blorbo and the rest is garbage. i'm a star wars fan, i experience this on the DAILY. i understand shen yuan INTIMATELY. i voluntarily watch SUPERNATURAL and have emotions about it of COURSE i understand shen yuan getting so mad about proud immortal demon way he DIED. i almost did seeing how dean winchester died on a fucking rusty nail. could you imagine seeing the supernatural series finale, getting so angry you DIE, and then waking up in the WORLD of supernatural as like, CROWLEY or some shit? and then you realize eric fucking kripke is stuck with you there? imagine watching the trainwreck of the rise of skywalker, DYING from rage, and waking up in the phantom menace and you're like, darth maul. and you're stuck there with GEORGE LUCAS himself. and you can't act that out of character or else you go back to being DEAD in real life? if this happened to me i would react the same way as shen yuan i would lose my fucking mind.

My FIRST musical was probably 1776 or Camelot, via my parents, and my most shocking musical was certainly my dad sheepishly admittedly he enjoyed the Biggest Little Whorehouse In Texas at 3 am over a college break. Like, sure, same, it's Dolly Parton and a Righteous Cause, who wouldn't love this??? Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber would NEVER. (And RENT - well, Lindsay Ellis explains it better than I could.)

as a huge lover of birds, 90% of the concern against wind turbines being used for energy is literally just pro fossil fuel propaganda. birds ARE at a risk however there is a lot of strategies even as simple as painting one of the blades that reduces a lot of accidental deaths. additionally renewable energy sources will do more in favor of the environment that would positively impact birds (and all of us). one study found over one million bird deaths from wind turbines. while that is a shockingly high number and we should work to drastically shrink it, at least 1.3 billion birds die to outdoor cats on a yearly basis. it was never about caring about birds
