Hi Sarah! I recently found your blog and I love it! I was wondering what your advice would be to someone that wants to start their own study blog as well. I have been struggling quite a bit with my motivation lately and I feel like making my own study blog could help motivate me and keep me on track with my goals. Thank you! Stay well :)
My advice would be to post regularly and utilise the benefits that this community provides! When I first started my blog, my goal was to use it to hold me accountable by checking in each day etc. I don’t do this as much anymore myself, but I’d still recommend it as it holds you accountable but your followers will also appreciate you being active.
Also, I think being honest/transparent really helps! E.g. if you didn't get the grade you wanted, you’ll find support within the community etc which can help you feel better esp if you don’t have anyone to talk to irl about it. :)
I would also suggest to not worry so much about taking ‘aesthetic’ notes etc, as it can take a lot of time.

Hey sarah!!Hope you are doing well! How to stop procastinating??
Hello! Hope you and everyone else is doing well, too! I think in order to stop procrastinating, it helps to remember that you’re going to have to do x task later anyway, except a) you’ll have less time, b) it’ll be way more stressful, and c) whatever you’re doing instead of doing x will be less relaxing as x is in the back of your mind anyway?
If you really don’t want to do x right now, break down the task and try to complete the first step. Or, maybe set a timer for 10-20 minutes and fully dedicate yourself to working on x. That way, it’s only like 10 minutes, which doesn’t seem so daunting, and you might find that it’s not as bad as you thought it was and want to keep working on it.

Hi Sarah! Can I ask what ‘syd & bne’ means? Have a nice day!! 🤩 -marie
hi marie! syd & bne just means sydney & brisbane (two australian cities). I currently live in sydney but am from brisbane and regularly return to visit. I thought it might help if anyone lives in these places and wants sydney-specific or brisbane-specific advice :)

Hi! I was just curious as to what wireless keyboard and mouse you were using. I've seen a lot of people use ones similar but, I just can't seem to find one like yours. I love how compact it is!
I think you might be asking about my Logitech Pebble keyboard/mouse combo! :)

Also how did you code your Upcoming assessments and stats boxes? I LOVE them
I don’t know, sorry! I think the boxes are just part of my theme (which I set up like two years ago) and I edited the titles/manually enter the info + dates. Sorry that’s not very helpful 😭

What is your planner set up? I feel like my current one is a little bit overboard because I'm using both a Daily Academic Year planner and a weekly calandar year paper planner. (And a monthly wall calandar with important dates, days off, etc) My weekly has large general blocks wheras my day is actually broken down hour by hour with which class and room/building I'm in. Then all of it gets entered into Google 2 weeks ahead so I get notifs.
I actually really want to make a YouTube video about my planner set-up since it’s a bit difficult to explain! The very short version is that I use an app (OmniFocus), a Filofax (physical planner), Apple Calendar (works with OmniFocus and I use it to schedule class timetables/appointments), and a bullet journal (mainly for journalling purposes and giving my brain some creative space to break things down).
However, why do you feel like your current setup is overboard? Is it because you’re finding it too time-consuming or is it because you’re comparing your set-up to others?
If it’s the former, then I would consider adjusting your set-up so that it’s more manageable for you. I’d do this by prioritising the most important place to keep your relevant dates etc so that you’re not having to enter everything multiple times.
If it’s the latter, then I don’t think there’s a problem at all! I strongly believe there’s no ideal set-up that will work for everyone, and I also believe that it’s normal for our own personal set-ups to change from time-to-time depending on our needs etc at that moment.
