They’ve always loved math. They didn’t get any further than basic calculus in normal high school, but it always appealed to them. It’s just rules, and if you know how they work – and, more importantly, why they work – you understand it all. They liked how it almost always had an answer. They’ve spent more than enough time seeing possible uncertain futures and waiting and waiting to see what happens, they can definitely appreciate something working the same every time, as long as it follows the same rules.

Even if their day-to-day as a researcher doesn’t involve much math regularly, they’re reminded of things they learned back in middle and high school on occasion, in a more metaphorical sense. Applying something they do understand can help make sense of something they don't – or, at the very least, help them explain it to Dearest as they lie face-down on their couch.

asymptotic • adjective • of a function, approaching a value without ever reaching it, as a variable tends to infinity.

In retrospect, they spent far too long resigning themself to an asymptotic not-relationship with Cyril. For ages, no matter how long they waited, no matter how close the two got, they thought they were going to stay on their side of the function and him on his, never reaching the point in which they touch.

Turns out, they didn’t need to keep waiting. No reason to wait for the function to accomplish the impossible when they were always free to step over it.

I am not hypervigilant but at nights i often get like ptsd flashbacks or like really ugly intrusive thoughts and i try to always take benadryl for sleep (i stopped using prescription meds bc they did so much more damage than they helped) and just read or look at something else while it kinda kicks in?? I usually get a feeling when im starting to get really sleepy and stop reading then and just sleep

Another thing that has helped me is trying to have something specific to think about that isnt traumatising or like hurtful like idk like about characters i like or like imagine scenarios that dont include me or anyone in my IRL (unless im feeling specially SaneTM that day) or like trying to imagine what will happen next in my book or just anything and try to stay in that line of thought or really controm what im thinking at night b4 sleeping

​Sorry if this doesnt help much :-( i dont really know what u mean by hypervigilant but i hope you can use this somehow. I have many other tips bc i have had really bad insomnia and night terrors since i was born so i have learned to get around it

thank you for responding, firstly! secondly, regarding your first piece of advice: benadryl specifically is a horror for me, it makes me so anxious etc., because i have terrible food allergies and so taking benadryl tends to precede going to the emergency room. 😭 so i think i may have to talk to my psychiatrist or whoever about a prescription for this.

imagining calming scenarios could be useful, i'll keep that in mind. thank you again!!! <3

Like compared to everyone else in Disanomia, he has 12 cards (in the wiki I use) and then Lilia has 17 cards 💀

Malleus doesn't have a Beans Day card, so that would've been fanmade! and the 100 anniversary cards are actually the new round of birthday cards, so most of the characters don't have 'em yet -- Malleus should be getting his in a couple of days, when his birthday event starts! oh god my keeeeeys

I think the wiki.gg stays pretty up to date? it looks to me like they have everything that's currently up through JP, at least. :O I did go through and do a quick count just because I couldn't believe Malleus only had 12 cards, but. he really does have the least...defeated only by Silver with 13...astonishing. we need his gargoyle club wear immediately.
