#okay starting from the beginning of where ppl usually dislike him. apple woods chapter. #he doesn’t give hero/partner the CHANCE to explain themselves despite them being relatively good recruits up until that point. #and that legit might be my only gripe with that chapter bc!!! stories need conflict! I LIKE the conflict in apple woods!!! #hero and partner being punished so something they didn’t do! #the misunderstanding! how team skull (Skuntank) actually outplays the main duo with a clever yet rotten trick. I LOVE that it segways into- #one of the more sweeter scenes of guild members looking out for eachother. I LIKE APPLE WOODS CONFLICT. #but chatot just. not giving them a chance. is so dumb. #I’d personally fix this by having a lil montage of hero/partner fucking up on jobs. it's been a while since i tried looking, but i did hear that something like this happens last year and over time started to think, "was it a fluke?" bc no one posted footage or caps of it then, and i aimed for a completionist run in my first playthrough. turns out it's real! and definitely shines a new light on a character that, for most other types of playthroughs, will not give this much emotion! Buck and Eddie are going to be pissed at each other/one of them is going to be pissed at the other, but not for the reasons you think.

Before anyone asks, I'm not being shady and I don't know how the season is going to unfold, but I do know that in all the years of Buck and Eddie being BuckandEddie, we've seen them survive a lawsuit (essentially: Buck at his most selfish), a kidnapping, a nervous breakdown (essentially: Eddie at his most destructive), a shooting, and so many other things that have yet to actually rock the core of their relationship. I think this—whatever this is—is going to strike at the heart of who they are together and that? That fascinates me.

#Buck and Eddie present probably the most stable and cohesive unit on the show second only to Bobby and Athena and I mean that quite #literally. Nothing either of them has done has ever been done *to* each other. Hen cheated on Karen. Maddie walked out on Chimney. While #there were extenuating circumstances surrounding both of those events that doesn't change the fact that they happened. With Buck and Eddie #hurting each other has always been a byproduct of something larger. In Season 3 Buck hurt Eddie... but it was only because he got caught in #the crossfire between him and Bobby. In Season 5 Eddie hurt Buck by leaving the 118 (and essentially “breaking up with him”)... but that is #only because he was struggling with PTSD. They've never launched direct hits at each other/their dynamic because they have always been — by #all accounts — assured of who they are when they're together even if that assurance doesn't always extend to knowing who they are #individually. So the idea that they might stand at the precipice of having to navigate something they did to each other? Or (as I suspect) #something Buck did to Eddie? That's going to be really interesting to witness. I want to see them test how strong they really are when one #of them pushes the bounds of the relationship.
