Jasper, my 8 year old tabby cat has dangerously elevated liver levels that continue to rise. We have spent thousands on bloodwork, antibiotics, xrays and an ultrasound with no definitive diagnosis. The last step is to do a GI and Liver biopsy, which requires an expensive surgery. The deposit is $4,200 USD with the final estimate between $4400-$5800 USD. There are many different reasons his levels may be elevated, each with a very different treatment plan. That being said, any treatment without this biopsy is a shot in the dark, and unlikely to help his condition.
Anything you can give helps. Please consider donating or sharing, as he will continue to go untreated until a prognosis can be made.

People should make more doomed by narratives siblings relationship.
Like with lovers you can just sever it and not have it related to you ever again but with siblings how could you?
You grow up with them you raise them or they raised you you both know how unforgiving the world is to both of you? You would die for them but will hate them for doing the same and yet none of you would regret it and both of you know it. They could be the person you loath the most and miss the most cause you still remember how they sneaked a candy into your hands. You can sever the tie but you can never look away at what you've lost, at whom you've lost because fate doesn't allow you to be together, eating dinners in quiet peace, if only there's another life, another time, where i can make you another plate of pancakes i would im sorry im sorry im sorry —
Since there's a wave of panic on my dash about Tumblr going under, here's a reminder that our best chance of stopping (or at least delaying) that from happening is to buy ad-free subscriptions, checkmarks, and other badges from the TumblrMart.
So if you're worried about the future of this blue hellsite, maybe check out the selection and get yourself a fun badge, or whatever. Badges start from $4/€3.75. You can also gift them to a beloved mutual if you don't want them for yourself.
i think there's a dunning kruger effect sorta thing happening with a lot of people in circles like the one ive cultivated here, but specifically relating to the characteristic of "being fucked up" as opposed to competence
it sucks because, yknow, i really feel at home with other fucked up people. there's a mutual understanding there that neither of us are holy, so you don't judge me, and i don't judge you. there are no taboos, there is no moral indignation, you don't have to censor your thoughts, there's a solid understanding of the difference between thought and action, neither of you are your past, etc. it's genuinely freeing not having to deal with the usual social rules that get you shunned for being a weirdo lol
and then hardcore george walks in and signals desperately with every fiber of his person that he, too, is fucked up. so you sort of take him at his word, because you have no reason not to - but oh snap, you're being lured into a false sense of security. because the moment you say anything remotely out of the ordinary, or behave in a way that's slightly eccentric, hardcore george starts blurting the same moral indignation you'd expect from a nun, and immediately decides you're too degenerate and probably dangerous. so you ask him in what way he is fucked up, and he says he eats cereal with water instead of milk. and while that is atypical, it's not exactly the sort of lifestyle that recontextualizes your view of what counts as "extreme" or "out there" - he just dipped his toes lightly into something unusual, and now thinks he's a maverick. this is hyperbole, but i hope you get what i mean. it's dunning kruger for being fucked up, right
a lot of people who market themselves as hardcore and fucked up are, to put it very bluntly, very average people, who despite their constant show of apathy will treat outcasts with the same disgust shown by everybody else - while somehow having convinced themselves, in their tiny little noodle brains, that they themselves are the outcasts. and i know it's not a competition, it's not a race to be the most fucked up or whatever, that's not the point. i'm just being pissy about how "being fucked up" has somehow been aesthetisized to the point where two thirds of the people you think are gonna be cool about stuff thats a bit out there, are not actually cool about it whatsoever
Harvey's launched a new website featuring merch and collectibles, including a holiday-themed WWDITS piece that's available in various formats, with a portion of the proceeds going to support research on Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP), a rare blood disorder.
Plus, in classic Harvey fashion, the website features a stunning collection of photos!
i don't want to seem like i'm pandering or something but i feel like in light of criticism from palestinian tumblr users (and only them – not the hate anyone's been receiving) about fundraising for the renewal, maybe we could come together and do another fundraiser for palestine children's relief or something? or maybe a free palestine billboard or something?
i think with as much eyes on us as this and everyone being whipped up into a frenzy and wanting to help, or if people are just feeling charitable, if we could do some good alongside working for our renewal that would be really cool and nice :) twitter already fundraised for the ad campaign, maybe we could do this over here? in a dream world it would be cool if we matched donations to the ad campaign but i get that's probably not possible a second time round.
Oh absolutely! There's a lot of momentum going around, so it does seem like a particularly great time to support. And like I've seen a few others mention, sending emails, calling customer service reps, and writing letters goes hand in hand with relief support as well! It's great practice for contacting representatives and politicians. So there's good energy abound!
And I think you're in luck, anon; the same organizers who hosted OurFlagForPalestine seem to be readying themselves for another fundraising effort! <3
Sometimes the Kitsune didn't know what the actual Akeri signed up for until she took control again and looked like now and here she was. With a bandanna around her head covering her hair, did her host sign up for one of those charity event things again? It seems like it. Trying to analyze the area around to gauge what exactly she's meant to be doing.
"What exactly am I supposed to do then?...I mean to be more helpful, that is." In truth, unlike the actual Akeri, the kitsune spirit actually had no clue what she was suppose to do.
Can you spare a (free) vote to help the NWT SPCA earn $1?
For just this weekend only, My Giving Circle will donate $1 for each new person that votes for the NWT SPCA as their favourite charity! This is the shelter I volunteer at, and every kennel they have is full now.
They serve communities in both the NWT and Nunavut, where in many small, remote communities opportunities to get your pet spayed or neutered was limited even before the pandemic saw shortages of vets and reduced ability to travel in for clinics. They even board community dogs while they wait to be able to get into the vet here. Their staff is awesome, putting in so many hours and they also rely a lot on volunteers to help, especially now. Every dollar helps, given the number of dogs and cats they ensure are fed, have their medical needs met, have the right kinds of collars, etc. (The love and attention they provide for free!)
All votes will contribute to the NWT SPCA’s chance to win a share of $75,000 of grants on September 30.This special offer for new voters will be on until midnight this Sunday, September 4th! I’d love if you can spare a (free) vote even once to help them get a little extra in funding, and feel free to boost.
You can vote for free at : mygivingcircle.org/nwt-spca/vote
Here are some cute dogs pics from my volunteering, to sweeten the pot!
