You studied so hard for that test. You really did. You prepared so much for this test, looked over the class notes, did the practice tests, and even went to the professor’s office hours for extra help. You really worked your butt off for that final exam. You went into that test thinking that you knew every topic that could be asked.

You did not walk out that way.

It seemed like every question asked about the niche topics that you did not think would be on the test. For that reason, you did not work on memorizing those smaller topics. Honestly, you should have because this 37/100 was not what you needed this close to the end of the semester.

You were still in shock as you walked back to the apartment you shared with your boyfriend, Kimi. You knew he would be back since he texted you that morning along with wishing you luck on the test. Clearly, none of that luck helped you, but you still appreciated his effort. Plus, you just wanted to be held by him.

You walked up the stairs to the third floor where your apartment was before stopping just in front of the door. You took a deep breath as you tried to recenter yourself before walking in. The last thing you wanted was to bring down Kimi’s mood because of your bad grade. You wanted to enjoy this short time with him before he went back on the road for post-season testing.

You finally pulled out your key and opened the door, immediately taking your shoes off and setting your bag on the counter. You turned your attention to where Kimi was moving around the kitchen. You did not really feel like talking, so you just walked up behind him and wrapped your arms around his waist, leaning against his back.

“Oh, hi,” He chuckled, placing one of his hands on yours as he briefly looked back at you. “I didn’t even hear you come in, amore (love).”

“I tried,” you sighed, attempting to bury yourself deeper into his back, inhaling his scent as he turned around in your arms. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders as he used the other to lift your head to meet his eyes. He tilted his head as if asking what was wrong. It was a face you did not see often, but you knew what he wanted to know, causing you to sigh again. “Don’t look at me like that, please.”

“Do you want to talk about it or forget it while we eat and rewatch your favorite movie?” He offered, running his hand through your hair before resting it against your neck lightly. “I made your favorite.”

“As long as I get to cuddle you, I’m in,” you chuckled quietly as you leaned into him more. He laughed with you as he swayed with you around the kitchen, knowing it was one of the things that made you feel better. He was not in a rush to do anything, and in all honesty, he did not want to let you go just yet.

~~ The next morning, you woke up still on the couch. The television was still on, but it was showing the “Are you still watching?” screen on Netflix. You remembered finishing your favorite movie and starting Sex Education (Oscar recommended it), but you could not remember much after the first episode.

Kimi was still behind you, in the same spot you remembered him being. He still had his arms tightly wound against your waist, and his face was still hidden in your neck. You tried your best to turn in his arms without waking him up, but it’s easier said than done on a small couch. It did not take long for Kimi to get jostled awake, eyes peeling open to meet yours as he let out a yawn.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to wake you, amore (love),” you whispered, not wanting to disrupt the environment or startle him too much. “Grazie (Thank you) for last night, ti amo mio amato (I love you my beloved).”

“Any time, any where,” he whispered back, leaning forward to place a small kiss on your forehead. Then your cheeks. Followed by your nose. And finally your lips. He pulled back just enough to ghost his lips over your lips as he gazed into your eyes. “I will always be here to make you feel better. No matter where I am, you will always come first. So you've been working with the 141 Task Force for not long, you're an operator. Ever since your arrival Soap had taken a liking to you, but of course he would never admit it.

He played it off as being friendly, since he's that way with everyone, but you were 100% sure he has a crush on you.

One time you were going to his room because he had borrowed some laundry detergent. Oh the irony, you hope he hadn't used all of it since you bought it in bulk and was expensive.

When you approached his quarters, you knocked on the door. "It's me!." you say before being allowed entry.

"It's open." you hear him respond.

You enter, and hear the sound of a dragon, and people screaming coming from his TV.

"Game of Thrones?." you ask, turning to look at what he's watching.

"Mhm." he hums, not looking away from the TV.

"Do you still have that laundry detergent I let you borrow last week?." you ask, turning to him, but his full attention is on the television.

"It's over there." he answers, motioning to the shelf behind you. Taking it from the shelf, needing to get some laundry done before you're stuck with piles of paperwork for the next few weeks.

"Catching up?." you ask him, on his status of the show.

"Rewatching." he replies, still not paying attention to you.

You could've walked into his room naked and he probably wouldn't even notice, or naked with a baby dragon on your shoulder.

"Your eyes are glued to that damn tv." you joked, trying to break his concentration.

To your surprise, he actually looks away from the TV to look at you.

"You watch the show?." he asks, sitting up slightly in his seat.

"I’ve only watched up until season 4. Mid season 4." you tell him, "Haven't caught up since."

He chuckles, "You're a few seasons behind lass." He has that cute little side smirk that made you fall for him, but you’d never tell him that. It would cause a lot of teasing from his end.

You sigh, "Yeah, I know, but I have laundry to do, I'll catch up at some point. I gotta get going, I’ll see you around.”

“See you later lass.” he says, before leaving his room.

Fast forward to several weeks later, a few weeks away from Halloween. You assumed no one dressed up for the day. The occasional decoration here and there, some candy, but nothing serious.

You chuckle, as you knock on his door, “You alright in there Soap?.” You don’t know, but he actually jumped as you knocked at his door.

Ghost scared you on a mere daily basis, especially when he would turn up unexpectedly as you walked down the hall. So that can count as a Halloween scare. Walking down the same hall as Soap’s quarters, which is in the same building as yours. You hear the sound of moaning coming from his room.

Getting up from his seat to open the door, “Y-yeah, I’m fine.” he says, trying to keep his cool, and himself collected.

“Alright, cause it sounds like you’re watching porn in there.” you joke which makes him turn red.

“I’m, uh, watching Game of Thrones.” he mutters, “It's at a-.”

“Sex scene?.” you finish his response, “I figured. Well I won’t interrupt, enjoy your sex scene.”

That response makes him laugh, “You’re welcome to come in, since you need to catch up on the show.”

You decided to take him up on his offer, “You know what? Sure, I’ll watch it with you.” That put a smile on his face.

You can’t tell, but he’s internally doing flips, and cartwheels because Soap does, in fact, have a crush on you. Gaz and Alex being the only ones who know this, Ghost doesn’t really interfere in that sort of thing, and Price suspects Soap has a thing for you, but not it being mutual.

“What season are you on?.” you ask him, taking a seat on his couch.

“Finishing up season 7.” he tells you, “Am I gonna rewatch it again? Yes.”

“I got to season 5.” you tell him, “So spoilers are ahead of me for this season.”

“I got you.” he grabs the remote, and changes the episode to season 5, “What episode?.”

“I believe episode 9.” you tell him, “I’m getting to that one.”

He changes it to season 5, episode 9. The Dance of Dragons. It gets to the part where they’re in the fighting pit, and the Sons of the Harpy are attacking, surrounding Daenerys, Missandei, Tyrion and Jorah, then Drogon comes to save them, taking Daenerys to safety.

“Daenerys and Missandei are totally in love with each other.” you say, “Either that, or they’re really really close friends.”

“Both, possibly?.” he says, “She’s had many lovers, Drogo, Daario, and spoiler, Jon Snow in the later seasons. If I had a woman like her, I’d never let her go.”

Now that makes you throw your head back in laughter, “You think you’d have a chance with the Mother of Dragons?.”

“Absolutely!.” he tells you in a matter of fact tone, “I would definitely have a chance with her.”

"You got a crush on her? Or Emilia Clarke?." you ask, shifting in your seat.

"Both." he responds, "She's my wife."

That really makes you holler out. He's ridiculous, and an idiot but he's your ridiculous idiot.

You two continued to watch the rest of season 5, then all of season 6, and you made your way into season 7. At some point you fell asleep with your head on his shoulder. He felt butterflies in his stomach seeing you asleep. You looked so cute, and he didn't want to move, not wanting to wake you. A whole episode later, you wake up. Forgetting where you were. “Shit.” you mutter, rubbing your eyes.

“Hey sleepy head.” he teases youu, “You missed a few episodes of season 6.”

"How long was I asleep for ?." you asked, sitting up.

"An hour, you missed half of episode 2, and the first half of episode 3." he tells you, "Or at least I think you did."

You checked the time on your phone, and it was starting to get late. "I should get going, it's after 11."

Soap checks the time on his phone, "Shit, we really did watch a whole season. Well I did at least you fell asleep".

You sleepily laugh at his comment, "Shut up." Followed by a yawn.

You both get up from the couch, he opens the door for you while you gather your things. "Goodnight." you tell him.

"G'night." he responds as he closes the door.

A few days later, you're in your room doing some paperwork, taking a minute or 2 away from it. You search online for any Daenerys Targaryen outfits and a silver wig. You wanted to test the waters and see how Soap would react to you dressed as his so-called 'wife'.

You found a few of them, you were wondering what outfit would he like the most.

You settled with the blue dress she had worn season 3.

The silvery blonde wig, you wanted it to be real hair so it'll be easier to braid, but synthetic hair is slightly cheaper, and nearly similar. So that is what you went with. You ordered the dress, shoes, the wig and other accessories. Making sure you got the right size and measurements, even if it was a little big, you can always hem it, but if it was too small then you'd have to DIY your own dress after spending so much money on the one you purchased for one day, or somehow lose a ton of weight for it to fit.

With Halloween being a few weeks away, you hope it came sooner rather than at the last minute.

A week passed, and your items had arrived. You went to check for your mail, and everything came in a box. You looked like a gremlin going from the mailroom to your quarters with a semi large box in your hands.

Making it back to your room, you open the box and the dress is beautiful, from looking at it. It looks like it'll fit you.

The silvery blonde wig, now it won't suit you, but hey, it's only a costume, not a permanent look.

You had it prepared, and ready for Halloween, the wig you kept on a lamp that you never used. You hoped no one saw it, so you kept it at the far corner of your room covered by a stack of boxes.

You and Gaz were hanging out in the base's lounge area.

"Does anyone ever dress up for Halloween?."you ask him.

"Not really, with Ghost wearing his mask all the time, it feels like Halloween all the time." he tells you.

You let out a soft laugh, "Yeah, I can imagine."

"Price and Laswell usually have bowls of candy here and there, but nothing too major." he continues. "Why? Are you planning on dressing up?."

You shrug, as if you didn't spend money on a silvery blonde wig and a dress, "Probably not, wouldn't know what to dress up as anyway."

Some time later you walk down the hallway towards your room, and surprise, it's Soap man coming from the opposite direction.

"Y/n!." he calls out.

"Hey." you greet back to him.

"Haven't seen you for a while." he tells you, "Laswell keeping you busy?."

You let out a soft chuckle, "Yeah, she's been keeping me busy. Paperwork that I still need to get done."

"I'll let you get back to it." he tells you, hand on your shoulder. "See you around."

And that day has come, Halloween. 7am. You took a shower before getting dressed, you put on a little bit of makeup before you got dressed. You carefully put the blue dress on, so it wouldn't get stained by your makeup. The cloak that came with the dress, the dark pants and boots.

This could be an everyday outfit for you, without the cloak though.

Finally, the wig, you had styled it the night before. Taking 2 small pieces of the hair making it into one braid, then taking 2 more pieces and making them into one braid. It sounds complicated, but the image helps out when doing it.

Luckily the wig came with a bald cap, keeping your actual hair away, and in place.

Having the whole outfit intact, you almost didn't want to look in the mirror out of embarrassment, but when you did, your whole face turned red.

"Oh my god." you hold back your laughter, one hand over your mouth. This color of hair did not suit you.

"Oh fuck, Y/n. What are you doing?." you tell yourself. Oh that's right, you wanna know if Soap actually has feelings for you, and so you dress up as The Mother of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen for this holiday to get a reaction out of him.

Just go about your day, don't even acknowledge the fact you're wearing a very silvery blonde wig. It suits Emilia Clarke, but not you.

You gather your stuff and go on with your regular route on base. Soap probably isn't in his room, he's probably in his office, or chatting with the other members of the 141.

Your regular route involves going by Captain Price's office, and so you made a quick stop at his office. He's usually there, plus you had to give him some files that Laswell had you working on the past week.

Once you get to his office door you knock on it even though it's open slightly.

"Come in." he responds, looking down as he fills out some paperwork.

"Captain, I have the paperwork Laswell wanted me to give to you once I finished." you tell him as you enter.

"Set them down Y/n." he tells you. Setting them down on his desk.

"Was there anything else Laswell wanted me to do for you?." you ask him, still waiting for him to look up at you in this ridiculous wig and blue dress.

He sighs, "No, not that I-." He cuts himself off when he sees you in this costume. "Know of." He lets out a breathy chuckle that makes you burn red.

"Did you attend to the dragons, Khaleesi?." he asks in a joking matter, but playing along with whatever is it that you're doing.

You can't help but burst into laughter, "I did, and they're growing everyday. Soon they'll be able to feed themselves."

You both share a laugh for a few seconds.

"I think you're the only one who dressed up." he tells you. "That's if the others dress up."

"I would say Ghost too, but then he looks like that all the time." you tell him. "I think it'll be a tied costume contest if there's one."

You two chat for a bit, getting a few compliments from a few other soldiers walking by.

"Soap is gonna lose his mind when he sees you." Price tells you, "I know you and him are fans of the show."

"I'll know it when he sees me." you tell him, "I'll see you around Captain."

You continued down the hall, your usual route that you do everyday. You hear Gaz and Soap's voices coming from the lounge area. You stop in your tracks, fix your dress, and wig before proceeding.

Soap sat with his back to you while Gaz turned his head as you walked in.

"Hey guys." you greet them as you walk in. Keeping your cool, and trying to act like you're not wearing a costume.

"Uhh hey, Y/n." Gaz greets back. Soap hasn't looked at you until you sat in the chair in front of him.

"Hey Soap." you say, taking a seat in the chair across from home, looking through a book that is on the table in front of you.

"Hey Y/-." he stops as he is completely hypnotized by your appearance. Hand placed over his mouth. You can't tell if he's laughing, or crying, or both.

But his change of mood, makes you do the same.

"What?." you ask, putting on an innocent tone "What's wrong??."

"What are you doing?." he asks, if you didn't know any better you can tell his eyes were heart shaped right now.

"I'm doing anything." you say innocently. "Just reading." You flip through a page in the book you're 'reading'.

He knows what game you're playing, and it's a dangerous one. "You're a tease. You know that lass." he tells you before getting up from his seat and leaves.

"You planned this? Didn't you." he answers your question with a question.

Towards the end of the day, you've gotten many compliments on your costume. Hell, even Ghost complimented you, it's not unusual, but somewhat rare.

You're heading back to your room, right when you pass Soap's room his door immediately swings open, and he pulls you in. You didn't even have time to process what just happened, it was very quick.

Locking the door the second you're in. Pinning you against the door, both his hands on either side of your head. Your hands are down to your sides, flat against the door.

"You cheeky little minx, you thought I wouldn't notice lass." He tells you, his eyes dark and feral.

Another post about Technoblade.

I'm up at 1am crying and rewatching "so long nerds" as well as the vod of Wilbur and Philza talking about Technoblade.

Technoblade had obviously come to terms with his death. He told Wilbur, Phil, and Tommy not to visit him after Vidcon cause he knew he wouldn't be sticking around. He wrote his last video. He made merch. He knew death was near. Yet he spent some of his final moments writing a goodbye to his fans. He loved his fans. He made sure we got to finally see his face and know his name. He loved his fans and he made it clear even when he was dying. He would chose to be Technoblade again if he had 100 more lives. He would choose to make content for us

Watching Technoblades dad talk about his final moments breaks my heart. Technoblade was fighting for so long. Stage four cancer is rough, and he still fought. Hearing his dad say "Alex, you don't have to do anything else. You've done so much for so many people. Millions of people. And if you want to now, you can rest" hurts so much. He was fighting and waiting for things to get better so that he could make a video for us, his fans. He wrote his final video 8 hours before passing. In his final moments, he wrote a video for us. No parent should have to make their sons final video. Hearing his father say "I miss Technoblade" shatters my soul. I know it must have hurt him so badly to have to tell 12 million people that the person that made content for them passed away. That his son has passed away. My heart goes out to Technoblade family and I hope that they are coping well in this very difficult time.

Wilbur and Philza talking about Technoblade is both happy and heart shattering. Technoblade was funny and brought joy to his friends and fans. Wilbur saying that he felt so wierd because his world had stopped turning while everyone else was living normally hit me hard. He put what I'm feeling into words. My world has stopped because one of my inspirations has died, but everyone around me is living their normal lives. Hearing that Tommy never got to meet Technoblade hurts. Tommy looked up to him and he never will get the chance to meet him. My heart goes out to SBI and all of Technoblades friends. I hope they are doing well and are learning to cope well in this difficult time.

I know that from the afterlife, Technoblade is probably laughing about how hard we are all crying. He's probably memeing on all of us right now. I hope he's finally at rest in the afterlife. That he's no longer fighting and struggling. That he's watching all of us in the mortal realm and knowing how much good he did. How many people he impacted.

Rest In Peace Technoblade, Alexander, The Blood God, Flowergirl29, or anything we have known him as. Rest in Peace, you deserve it.

you guys were in your last year of high school, a year that would control the path of your future career. rin, like he always planned, was going to pursue soccer.

on the other hand, you wanted to pursue your own dream. but not only was the college you were going to halfway across the country, but the job you’re aiming for would require you to be constantly moving around. thinking about it, your schedules would never align.

as the last months of the school year approached, the two of you began to fight more often. neither of you would drop your dreams for the other, so things just started to not click.

trying to make things work was fruitless because things just wouldn’t work.

weeks of screaming, crying, and or ignoring each other brought you to now. you sat on rin’s bed as he sat by his desk. the two have you been talking about your situation for a while, and both of you felt what the conversation was leading up to. there was no avoiding it, you noticed.

“i’m just tired,” you rested your head against your knees, “tired of it all. we keep fighting rin, but it’s getting us nowhere.”

“what are you suggesting?” he questioned in a monotone voice.

despite asking you, he knew what you were trying to convey. he thought the same thing as you. everything between you and him would only be a burden, and neither of you needed that.

“i was able to hold on for so long, but i’m finally done. this isn’t going to work, rin. we both know that. a-all this arguing and disagreements we have… they’re only hurting us.”

after your words, neither of you had the guts to look up from your laps. two whole years of happily being together, and your hopes for the future are the reason why everything is changing.

you loved rin, and rin loved you. but even so, the stars just couldn’t align for the two of you. it wasn’t meant to be.

(First of all, English is not my first language so sorry if there are some mistakes long essays are hard to write djhdsfs)

HELLO GOOD MORNING CHERIK FANDOM SO the other day I made this post about a very hurtful and surprisingly overlooked parallel: Cherik not being able to shoot each other. Aaaand that second scene from DOFP where Erik is unable to shoot Charles has been keeping me awake at night for AGES and I really feel like we don't talk enough about it. So, here I am. Still being pissed off because of some fictional characters not kissing in some movies made years ago lol

So, here's an extended extract from that scene:

So. Erik's plan here is to kill Raven, bc you can't use Raven to create evil war machines if there's no Raven am I right lol. Charles, before Erik can shoot his sister, puts himself in between the gun and her (btw shoutout to Charles for being brave enough to put himself in front of a gun again after what happened in Cuba and the ptsd he 100% has bc of it I love you muac).

Let's make things clear here: There was nothing stopping Erik from killing Charles in this scene. He could've done it. Erik's mission at that very moment was to kill Raven, and Charles was getting between his mission and him. And we all know how things end when something gets in Erik's way when he's completing his mission. Erik does not care about collateral damage. For fucks sake, in this very same scene, he was willing to kill Raven off just bc it was easier and faster. He doesn't give a fuck about who has to die in favor of the greater good.

And I mean, technically, Erik should be more willing to kill Charles than Raven. Raven was his right hand for a while before he went to prison and she was his canonical lover. Charles, at this point in time, was his enemy. Both of them are very powerful mutants, with the difference that Raven is usually by Erik's side, and Charles is one of the only people in the world able to stop Erik thanks to his mutation. If Erik was willing to kill Raven, he should be willing to kill Charles too, if not as much, then more.

So... Why not? Why not shoot him, and once Charles was down, kill Raven too? Why is he able to attempt to kill Raven (his former ally and EX LOVER) and not Charles?

🤨 🏳️‍🌈 ❓

ALSO, now that we're here: Let's talk a bit about Dark Phoenix, too.

So, let's face it, DP is a bad movie. Overall, it's boring and that's pretty sad counting the masterpieces FC and DOFP are. But, hey, I can live with a boring movie. It's fine. What I CANNOT live with are things that are out of character. Especially when my fave characters are out of character. Ok maybe I'm being a bit too over dramatic here but I'M NOT

So: Let's talk about how Erik wants to rip the world apart over Raven's death in Dark Phoenix bc he's just so destroyed bc the love of his life died or whatever. Dude. I'm sorry but I don't buy it.

Correct me if I'm wrong here bc there's been a while since I don't rewatch Apocalypse or Dark Phoenix (again, meh movies), but from what I understand Erik didn't spend more time with Raven, apart from that bit in Apocalypse? Because after DOFP, Erik distanced himself from anything related to mutant wars to create a family, and then after Apocalypse Erik created Genosha and Raven stayed at the mansion, isn't it?

Assuming that this is correct, they're trying to tell me that between the scene where Erik was willing to kill Raven over the greater good in DOFP and the scene where he was willing to rip the world apart bc of her dying in DP, Raven and Erik only saw each other once. Riiiiight.

And, look. I'm not saying that Erik wouldn't feel sad about Raven dying. Of course he would. He's not made of steel (bc most steel is not magnetic. Get it? Magnetism, Erik... Imma shut up lol). Obviously he would feel bad. And I'm not saying that love can't last that long if they haven't seen each other in a long time, bc c'mon. I'm a cherik shipper. Of course I believe it can.

What I'm saying is that I can't believe that Erik is so devastated that gets blinded enough by his broken heart to hunt down a teenager that's being haunted by something she can't control. I can't believe it bc 20 years ago, it was him who was trying to kill Raven (and almost succeeding), a time that was way closer to their partnership and relationship than when DP takes place. If anything, he should be more affected in DOFP. Instead, he goes from almost killing her himself to wanting to rip everything apart bc of her death.

It. Doesn't. Make. Sense. So, Dark Phoenix's Raven x Erik plotline can suck my dick lol. If it doesn't make sense with the character's previous actions, it's not canon. That's how this works lol I don't make the rules

Summing up: Erik willing to kill Raven but not being able to shoot Charles in DOFP is EXTREMELY fruity and romantic, and Dark Phoenix's romantic plot between Raven and Erik makes 0 sense and is forced as shit

This is also kind of inspired by the asked I got, but also I'm rewatching the final kanej scene (again) lol

It's sort of weird to expect Kaz to continue to try if Inej doesn't try as well. And it's not as if either one are completely blameless. Like for all the faults that Kaz has, Inej is also very bad at telling Kaz what she wants.

This is also something I noticed but it's starting to feel like Kaz is the one who messed up in the final kanej scene. Like Inej is like be honest! And he is. He's like I want you to be at the EP! And she's not. The one time where his armor is completely gone and she's not there.

Kaz has also done the following: actually tells the Crows his plans, helps Nina see Matthias, acknowledges Jesper as his brother, recruits Wylan and making sure he eats a proper meal (and gets a boyfriend), made sure Matthias (a stranger) wasn't put in the fighting pit... and on top of all that helped a whole other country to prevent the world from going to shit.

I probably missed some things, and this is just a silly little show... and we are dealing with a much more mature Kaz than in the books. But what else is he supposed to do? He's not even 100% bad a feelings, he's not great at it (he was raised in the barrel). Also, the touch aversion is not his fault. I really wish that wasn't used against him.

But Inej... Inej's trauma that runs so deep that she had a whole dream about touched and then lied about it, whose trauma is so fresh that when Jesper asked last season, she just gave him this look of pure horror. Inej, who expects so much of Kaz and for him to be open, will shut down just as easily.

Inej is a brave and lovely character, but she is so deeply flawed. She is so deeply traumatized, and one thing I give the show credit for is Inej's struggles are very much internal (bc that's very much book canon btw). That's why her hallucinations were about touch (and Kaz). She's not ready for what comes with a relationship, and Kaz was. Kaz could of told her he loved her and she would of still left.

Ok I am HERE for this encouragement - I love that Phayu is always supportive of Rain's academic talents

i genuinely feel like this shot did something to my brain chemistry. i kid you not one of my main goals in life is to have someone do this to me (by which I mean I want to be in Rain's position). I would also ignore homework and all my responsibilities if someone looked at and held me like that pls

Ok but this is actually a very important lesson that I'm glad they included. It's true that Rain finished the work on time, but he also should have ensured he got enough sleep and made it to the presentation on time. He's still in his first year so he has a lot of time to grow. The actual important line is this one below.

It was a harsh way of phrasing it, but it's true. Setbacks are a very normal part of life and everyone makes "mistakes" (missing deadlines, not being able to finish a project, etc). I put that in quotes because sometimes, these things are at no fault of the person. It is possible to put 100% of your effort into finishing something and not get it done (which, aside from Rain's poor time management, he actually did put in a lot of effort to this project). Failing at something even after putting in a lot of hard work sucks, but being able to pick up after that and still work hard is what makes a person successful. I related extra hard to this scene because I failed a class in my major during my first year of college even though all I did was study, and it put me back a full year bc it's only offered certain semesters and was required to move forward in the degree. I took it again the following year and was smarter about how I studied and even still, I almost failed again. But I liked my major enough to keep at it and somehow still managed to graduate on time and now I'm in grad school, so... (that was an unnecessary story but to reiterate, failure is normal and ok)

AWW look at him putting on a facade for his friends... I think it's interesting that he doesn't confide in Sky here

but instead flies to the garage... Even I questioned this

P'Saifah is a good bro, calling Phayu immediately to come comfort his in-law. Phayu is good here too, immediately grabbing his things to come running

I think I speak for all of us when I say watching Phayu ride in the heavy rain was nerve-wracking bc we were expecting an accident or something

OK this scene. THIS SCENE. Utterly perfect in every way, from the moment concerned Phayu walks through the door to see a drenched, teary Rain waiting for him. Something blue-yellow is going on here too methinks

There's something so incredibly intimate about the way Phayu crouches down to Rain's level, and then beckons him into his arms. His words too are so gentle, and he just holds Rain as he cries.

As opposed to many other sweet scenes, this sequence + the one after Rain comes out of the bathroom is actually the one that makes me most jealous of PhayuRain. There is nothing more valuable than having someone you can fall apart into and trust that they'll hold the pieces of you together. And honestly, in the grand scheme of things Rain didn't mess up horribly - it feels monumental to him bc it's probably the first time he's missed a deadline. It's important that Phayu still treats the situation with the gravity of something more serious, bc it shows how much he cares. And after Rain has calmed down, he advises him on how to do better next time without sugarcoating, but also sharing that he experienced similar things during his days as a student.

I'mma need Rain to zip it bc he looks perfect, as usual

I really like the framing in this scene where he's looking into the mirror and then introspecting "why did I put up a front with other people and then cry in front of him? idk but I'm thankful" - he's reflecting mentally and physically!!!

Can't believe a drama is out here giving important life lessons but I'm here for it. I also like that Phayu shows a bit of vulnerability by sharing that he got criticized too, and that Rain will be able to recover from it.

HEADPAT x 2

This is another set of shots that altered my brain chemistry. Who taught them to look at each other like this, hm? Rain looks so vulnerable and Phayu might as well be cradling Rain's soul in his hands ft. headpat

The way Rain tilts his head up? Exquisite

I'd also feel very motivated if I was in Rain's place. Phayu actually makes another few interesting points here - he says what's done is done, and then tells Rain to not dwell on it and take care of himself. Interestingly enough (story time pt 2 you can skip if you want). I watched this scene very soon after I missed a paper submission deadline for a conference. It's not the biggest deal, especially because my professor knew it was a big ask to finish an entire research project in the timeline he gave me and he wasn't even remotely upset about it (long story short I only had 2 weeks notice to flesh out the idea, get the data, analyze the data, and write the research paper - but you can't really control how long things take you when you do research bc the point is that it hasn't been done before). So even though no one reprimanded me, I still felt really upset bc I had made up my mind that I was going to do this impossible task and couldn't. To hear Phayu's reminder that I can be upset but I shouldn't spend too long being sad to the point I neglect to take care of myself was honestly nice. It also helped to put things into perspective that yes, I couldn't submit to this particular conference, but there are so many that happen all the time so it's not like the research is wasted - just pull yourself together and try for the next one. Anyways, I'm done treating y'all like my personal diary now <3

Yay, Rain feels comforted and finally smiles! It's like seeing the sun after a storm (literally) AND something yellow-blue is happening here

Post-credits garage brothers content!! This exchange is hilarious bc P'Saifah goes 'ah [Rain] is in the palm of your hand' as Rain's leaving, but then the show makes it literal bc Phayu's holding a picture of Rain in his palm via the phone screen, which also signifies to the viewer that Phayu is also in the palm of Rain's hand. Again, we love relationships built on equality hehe

I love that they let us see the moment Phayu decided to pursue Rain (he's looking at the picture of Rain on his phone for the first time - though I do question why the senior just randomly sent him a photo of Rain? Like at this point Phayu is an alumni of the frat so why just send an isolated photo of a freshman to him?? we'll never know I guess)

Rewatch!

Step into a time machine with me, if you will, and let it whisk us back to March of 2021.

Simpler times, then, n'est ce pas? We're but a year into a global pandemic, and I am clinging by a thread to my sanity and, without knowing it, mere weeks away from my first covid vaccine and the freedom and return to normalcy it will immediately and entirely provide* (spoiler, this did not pan out 100%).

I have joined twitter, as one does, out of desperation, because tumblr is a dumpster fire everyone is fleeing from for a site that isn't being ruined by a poorly-effectuated rebranding, unchecked hate, weird algorithm issues, and corporate nickel and diming. Funny how those things come full circles sometimes...

There, as here, I am following a lovely person who makes exceptional gifsets and has extraordinary taste in television (ifykyk). Her timeline has begun to fill with odd gifs of besuited and beautiful Korean people and otherwise context-free shouts into the void like "sexy lawyers" and "murder hornets!!"

Understand that, while it seems insane now that I've watched roughly 40 and would have to physically restrain myself from doing something embarrassing should I meet the man, there was once a time in my life when I had never watched a Korean drama nor even heard of Song Joong Ki.

As time goes by, though, my terror and confusion on twitter give way instead to a persistent feeling of intrigue and envy.

Because I realize there is a lot of shouting. And amongst other people with exceptional taste. I have been trapped in my house with the same people and walls and 8 meals and 23 minute walk around the block I'd seen and done and lived for the last year. So the appeal of disappearing through the tv to a place with hot people dressed up nice in a place I'd never thought much about before grew and grew. Even if there's trained murder hornets there.

So I open a shady-ass site with a seriously committed ad server Netflix on my phone and curl up and watch, stunned, the absolute best fucking 20 minutes of any TV intro I've ever fucking seen.

We're now nearly 3 years beyond that point, and I've met exceptionally interesting and funny and brilliant people and seen the most gorgeous gifsets and fanart you can imagine and read a ridiculous amount of fanfic (and written perhaps a little here and there, give or take 750,000 words) and headcanoned every possible scenario you can imagine and even flew to the other side of the world and stood in the middle of Seoul, not only amidst the pigeons of 'Geumga Plaza', but also between the parted legs of a building-high cutout of Song Joong Ki.

But I've never, ever rewatched the show in its entirety from start to finish.

So, with that in mind, away we go. A second time.

I need to pour out my thoughts on q!BBH after that last stream, I may go back on this but I just need to talk about him rn

q!BBH showing that he DID take all the furniture opens up a lot of ideas and possibilities that I didn't expect.

Firstly, the fact he can lie to the ghosties, while not the most surprising thing in the world, it does mean that everything he has said/done in private has the chance of being a lie. He said that he doesn't lie to us... directly. He could even be lying about stealing the furniture at all.

This also could mean that he got someone else to do it, but took all the blame so everyone would hate him, as according to his plan. BBH wants to be put in jail, but only at the right time. Whoever stole the furniture could be consistently working with BBH for his plan (if he is working with someone).

I was rewatching the VOD of the day he got imprisoned, and a moment that stands out to me is when, directly after Cellbit pushed him onto the cage block, while everyone is talking at once, BBH says "I'll play along for now, I guess" WHICH MAY BE NOTHING but I think that that has to do with how he planned for people to hate him, but doesn't want to be in jail yet; he knows he'll get out eventually, but he wants to keep the others mad at him.

Another line, after breaking out: "this is not going well for my plans" this one, I believe is actually 100% related to what he said now. His plan is to protect the eggs, but everyone is now voting to make stealing furniture illegal, instead of mines. He feels as though he's the only one who cares for the eggs, like everyone is more concerned about furniture than their own children.

(alright time to be salty /j)

Also, looking back at the VOD, Forever and Pac broke into his house THAT SAME DAY TO STEAL HIS STUFF??? Like. broke in, code breaks, masks, invis potions- and then suddenly BBH is such a criminal and 100% in the wrong??? WHAT???? Also I do know Forever then goes on to say that he doesn’t think that bbh stole it all and was wanting him to return all the furniture from the past, (even tho its not illegal and still isn't) but whatever-

I will point out, Richarlyson's gaming chair was important, it had emotional value, Cellbit being mad about that is understandable, I agree with him... but everything else could've been remade with just the stuff Forever stole, and I think that's really funny jfdlksjfklsdk

Opinion on Domina season 2?

Wow thank you SO much for the ask.

I watched Domina season 2 during August so forgive me if my memory isn't perfect. Spoilers!

I feel like this season is much more funny but also much more heartbreaking than the first season. However, I feel like the first season was much more tense than this season. So basically when I was watching the first season I was constantly gritting my teeth and pulling at my hair and when I was watching the second season I was constantly alternating between laughing and crying. Which isn't a bad thing, but I think the majority of the tension in this season was me wondering how they would break my heart again, not from the plot.

Well I guess I should just jump right in.

Some Random Thoughts I Had:

In this season, two of the three characters I was watching this show for died. Luckily the third character isn't due to die for another fifty years or so! I don't have to worry about him dying. I only have to worry about him as a person.

Wouldn't it be crazy rad if Domina just kept continuing, past Livia's life, into the later Julio-Claudian dynasty? And we get to see Agrippina and Nero and Britannicus and Claudius? Ah, that would just be amazing! But it would kind of go against Domina, which is supposed to be a show about Livia's life. At least Livia still has a lot of life to live! I don't know if there's a third season coming. I hope so.

Tiberius got a new actor! But Drusus didn't. Livia actually mentioned this and it was so funny but so weird. She was like "Oh, Tiberius, you changed a lot! But Drusus hardly changed at all!" which feels so uncomfortable to me because Tiberius got a new actor but Drusus didn't and all the viewers know that but we're supposed to pretend like we don't to suspend our disbelief but when the characters themselves mention it ahhh!

On that note, Drusus, his age, and how that's all depicted in Domina is a super weird topic that I just don't have the time to talk about here.

I love Tiberius' new actor so so so much and he feels like Tiberius, but I also miss the old actor! Ah, that's what rewatching the first season is for!

Antigone is gone. It's implied she died in between the first season and the second but we don't get much information about that so it feels like she just vanished into thin air. I miss her ;(

There is so much Tiberius Pillow symbology in this season. They are rubbing it in your face.

Okay now that I'm done with that brain dump, let's review it with more structured topics!

Acting:

Amazing as always. I actually think the acting here was better than in the last season. Honestly the way these people play with their facial expressions like that... oh my gosh it's so good. Domina has phenomenal acting.

However, there are two little moments when I cringed, but they are 100% not the actors' faults. One of them I already mentioned, when Livia mentioned that Tiberius changed a lot and Drusus didn't. That was really funny but just so weird.

And then when a character mentioned that wearing trousers was weird and not fashionable. It's just that all the actors are so British, a line like that is impossible to pull off and sound right. They're all just too British!

But honestly the acting was so so good in this season!

Overall Beauty:

Domina is continuing to be absolutely beautiful. Every screenshot is a work of art. Domina is easily one of the prettiest shows out there.

Plot:

I think it was good. There were some parts that just felt very very random but overall I think the plot was very entertaining and heartbreaking and not historically inaccurate in the way that I'd dislike it, but historically inaccurate in the way good historical fiction is.

Humor:

Amazing as always. This show is so funny. Quickly alternating between two different things is quite a common theme in this season, so they use a lot of heartbreak but also a lot of humor.

Characters:

My favourite character always is and always was Tiberius, even though I don't really think he was created as a character for people to like. Tiberius... he's very very complicated in this show and I don't think I have the brain power to talk about it. But I've liked him ever since we first met him as a teenager in the first season because he's autistic-coded and I was like "Omg he's just like me fr." And then of course I had to like him for the rest of the show. But just because I like him as a character does not mean I like him as a person or condone anything he does.

Dang I wanted to say something more solid in this section but I just can't think of anything.

Anyway, when it comes to the characters as a whole, I think that generally they were all done very well. Vipsania was kind of done dirty, but other than that, I'd say everyone has a strong personality and I never found an issue with the characterization.

Things I Liked:

Honestly, everything I mentioned up there. Acting, humor, prettiness, sadness. I like 99% of this show.

That part when Augustus was getting kinky with Gemina while Agrippa was telling the senate about being more loyal and moral and that sort of stuff. Ohhh that was so clever.

When Tiberius was remembering the dream he had about his father and repeating all the words his father said and it was like Tiberius was becoming him. Ahhhhhh.

This hilarious part after Tiberius and Julia's wedding:

Antonina: Drusus. Did you give Vistilius permission to fornicate in our bedroom?

Drusus: Yes!

Antonina: 🤨

Drusus: No?

Antonina: 😬

Drusus: Possibly. Who can remember?

Antonina: 😟

Oh my god the way Drusus was just cycling through every response!

Antonina and Drusus stole the show they were amazing.

Things I Did Not Like:

They're trying to show Tiberius' mental health issues but I am not 100% agreeing with how they do it. But I don't really know how it could be better. And I'm just not very knowledgeable in this subject so maybe their depiction is actually really good. I don't know. It's just that I think it could be better in some way.

I wanted more Vipsania. And they were so mean in their portrayal of her.

When Agrippa died 😭😭😭😭😭 and Octavian was all sad about it 😭😭😭😭😭 but then Octavian and Livia were suddenly having sex and Livia was saying "Oh, it's okay, you don't need him anymore." 😟😟😟😟😟😟😟 Oh my god, what? I was literally crying but then that scene made my tears go back up to where they came from.

During Tiberius and Julia's wedding, what was simultaneously happening to Livia just felt so random and disconnected to everything else that was happening. Which is a shame because Tiberius and Julia's wedding was honestly my favourite part of the whole show. I remember that it kept jumping back and forth between the wedding and Livia. Watching it kind of felt like "Omg omg I feel so bad for Tiberius and Julia—who are those people in the masks chasing Livia?? Oh dang Drusus you're going to gamble everything away—why is Livia jumping off a cliff??" I know that part with Livia probably had a purpose in the show, but I actually forgot what it was.

In Conclusion:

The second season of Domina was funny, heartbreaking, pretty, and I loved it. It made some decisions I did not like, but it also made a whole lot of decisions I loved. Overall, I absolutely love this show. This is actually my favourite TV show of all time.

But the big question is, which season is better?

I don't know! They both have their strengths and weaknesses.

The first season has Antigone and Marcellus and just a lot of the "children" of the imperial family when they were teenagers, you know, Julia, Tiberius, Drusus, Marcellus, Iullus. And I like that a lot. In the second season, they're older, which is perfectly fine but I like teenager drama, you know?

The first season had two awkward episodes in the beginning where they had to pretty much explain all the context and characters, but they honestly weren't bad episodes. They were just really different compared to most of the show. However, because a lot of actors got changed in between the second episode and the third, it was quite confusing for a while. The very second I'm finally able to recognize most of the characters, bam, they all look different. Which is bad because I'm quite face blind!

Anyway, the first season really had me on the edge of my seat, especially for the last four episodes. But I think I felt even more suspense watching the second season wondering how they were going to break my heart again.

I think the second season was funnier but humor does not necessarily make or break a show, unless it's a comedy. And just because the second season was funnier doesn't mean the first season doesn't have its own fair share of hilarious moments, and it does!

Both seasons are very very beautiful and have great acting. The choice of actors is honestly phenomenal for both seasons.

Honestly, I don't know which season is better! In my opinion, Domina managed to do the rare thing in which the second season manages to live up to the first. But not everyone might agree with me. If you have anything to add, please do!
