Magma dragons are among the simplest of the primal dragons. Bonded to elemental fire, they are temperamental and prone to violent outbursts, and in fact other dragons tend to view them as dangerously unstable. Even experts in diplomacy and interactions with dragons will find their predictions and capabilities tested to the extreme as the dragon seems to shift its attitude on a whim and the flip of a coin. The dragons themselves always have a reason for their changing mood, though rarely do they feel the need to explain it in favor of brutally murdering whatever bothered them.
Magma dragons form lairs in active volcanoes and deep magma pools, which makes even assaulting their lair a difficult prospect. While they keep hordes like many other dragons, the goods are usually gemstones and harder metals that can withstand the extreme heat. Even then, few items of the dragon's horde can be kept in the magma itself, and they usually have a dedicated (and still superheated) room for their treasure.
Inspired by the Pathfinder 1e Bestiary 2. This post came out a week ago on my Patreon. If you want to get access to all my monster conversions early, as well as access to my premade adventures and other material I’m working on, consider backing me there!

Starting today off by introducing our 21st colonist, Henry!! Woo! How exciting- and annoying. My colonist bar had to break into two rows on top of each other to handle so many pawns! it won't be a problem for long, don't worry
Henry is a little boy who is of the 'Hussar' xenotype, which just means he's a genetically engineered super-soldier who will apparently develop a dependency on Go-Juice later in life. Hooray for him. He has a wooden foot and lil' bandaids on his face, which makes me think this kid has seen some fights way too grown-up for him. Fortunately, the colonists at Eureka don't believe in sending children into combat, so Henry is free to spend his days learning and having fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first thing Henry did (after putting on a new shirt) was go hang out with Irwin in the school building to learn about melee. For what it's worth, Henry is already the third-best melee fighter in the colony, at the same level as Kawoo, and only beaten by Irwin at level 14 and Connie at level 11.
I think he is going to get along swimmingly with Irwin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we had a drop-pod raid, which I did not think was going to be a problem because there didn't seem to be that many Saurid raiders... But, alas...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess someone named "Executioner" would ruin my day, huh?
The problem with drawing the adventures of these colonists is that I get way too attached to them. So, uh... I wrote eulogies. Sorry. They're under here if you feel like reading 'em.
Wendy Marsengill
Wendy Marsengill was killed on the 13th of Decembary, at the age of 27. She is survived by her wife of 1.5 years, Tamarind, by a vast and eccentric family, including her Aunt Kawoo and cousin Andy, and by many friends in the settlement of Eureka and beyond.
Wendy had a fascinating start to her life when she was recruited as a Child Spy. She went on to become a Barber in her adulthood, though, at some point, she ended up on a distant Rimworld and was lost to madness as a Wild Woman. She wandered in this state for some time before joining the Animist Alliance, where she met and eventually married her wife Tamarind.
Wendy was the best cook in the settlement and often was single-handedly responsible for keeping the colony fed with properly cooked food, and nobody ever got food poisoning while Wendy was manning the kitchen.
Some of Wendy's greatest moments include wearing a jester's hat to her own wedding and somehow managing to cement herself as the most Australian colonist in my head based on a single social interaction way-back-when.
Pearl the Cheetah
Pearl was the first animal to join the ranks of Eureka's ever-growing menagerie, not including Rogan the rottweiler who crash-landed with Albina, Brennan, and Irwin.
Pearl landed near our burgeoning settlement in an animal drop-pod, where she was rescued and nursed back to health by Head Researcher Brennan. Pearl decided to stay with us and spent a very long time sleeping on an animal sleeping spot on the rough marble floor of Irwin's ascetic bedroom (sorry, Pearl. You deserved better).
Once Andrei McCarthy joined the colony, it was love at first sight, and he bonded with Pearl almost immediately. She was eventually given a proper animal bed in the room Andrei shared with his wife, Kawoo and their infant son Andy, before Andy moved to his own room.
Pearl was brave, beautiful and very fast, as cheetahs often are. It is a tragedy that I can't draw animals as well as I would like to, or she would have featured far more prominently in all these posts. I'll miss her. She made silly noises when I zoomed in on her sometimes. It's going to be quiet without her.

various until dawn headcanons im insanely attached to.
Chris was diagnosed with autism pretty young and he and Josh were in the same special ed programs in school (Chris for his diagnosed autism, Josh for his behavioral issues) which is both how they met and why Chris knows about Joshs mental health.
Jessica is ALSO super autistic, but no one's aware of it, or even assumed due to her having the whole "hot girl" thing going on. She's very Jennifer Coolidge.
Jess has a crush on Josh
Emily has NPD.
Josh and Chris both went through a magician/magic tricks phase at the same time.
Ashley's a pretty popular girlblogger on tumblr known for her sort of dry humor and political opinions, but it's moreso on like this side of tumblr (mentally ill girlblogger shit) instead of like cute girl photographs like ppl interpreted her to be
Josh listens to a lot of experimental music as well as a lot of foreign music. He likes obscure sounds/instruments. I think he also really likes noise music.
Chris listens to a lot of generic white boy rock, bowling for soup, blink-182, etc, and regularly teases josh for listening to stuff that hurts his head
Ashley listens to a lot of "generic" tumblrcore musicians (hozier, mitski, AJJ) on the surface level, but I think when alone she listens to almost only ambient music or white noise.
Beth wants to be a tattoo artist and uses She/They pronouns
Hannah has BPD
Matt is the youngest of four.
Josh was diagnosed with cluster B
Melinda Washington is actually Bobs second wife, the divorce between Joshs biological parents is what triggered his symptoms to start manifesting at age 11. Bob got married to Melinda shortly after Joshs 13th birthday.
Matt is the least artsy of them all, but is also the least traumatized. Matt is regarded as their singular "mentally stable" friend
Hannah exclusively hung out with the popular kids, she often tried to blend in or mask as hard as possible. She would've rather been friends with popular people who hate her, then weirdos who like her. This caused a lot of issues between her and her siblings, who were arguably "weirdos who liked her"
Josh is closer to Beth than Hannah, but Josh relates to Hannah more than he does Beth. They are closer not out of relatability but because Josh has a tendency to accidently set off Hannah. This is something he was trying very hard to work on in therapy (you can see the behjavior hed set her off with when you fail the flashlight QRTs with Sam)

13th December >> Fr. Martin's Gospel Reflections / Homilies on Matthew 11:28-30 for Wednesday, Second Week of Advent (B): ‘My yoke is easy and my burden light’.
Wednesday, Second Week of Advent
Gospel (Except USA) Matthew 11:28-30 My yoke is easy and my burden light.
Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.’
Gospel (USA) Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who labor.
Jesus said to the crowds: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
Reflections (6)
(i) Wednesday, Second Week of Advent
We can all grow tired and weary, especially as we get older. We sense that our physical energy levels are not what they were. We may feel the need for a nap in the afternoon. According to the first reading, even ‘young men may grow tired and weary, youths may stumble’. The weariness in question there may not be so much a physical weariness but a weariness of spirit. We can suffer from a weariness of spirit at any age. We struggle to get up and go, to invest ourselves in the task at hand, to give of ourselves to others. Physically we may be strong, but there is a lethargy about us. It is part of the human condition. That first reading suggests it is not part of God’s condition, ‘He does not grow tired or weary’. The Lord is always actively engaged with us. He is always coming towards us. We pray the simple prayer during Advent, ‘Come, Lord Jesus’, a prayer that recognizes that the Lord is always on the way towards us. The Lord never retreats into himself in a kind of weariness of spirit. He is always fully alive, vibrant, dynamic. In the gospel reading, he invites us to come to him in our weariness of spirit and draw life from his presence to us, ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest’. The word ‘rest’ there refers not so much to inactivity but, rather, revival and renewal. This is the rest referred to in the Psalm, ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’ - ‘Near restful waters he leads me to revive my drooping spirit’. Each day, in prayer, we can turn to the Lord in our weariness of spirit and open ourselves to his reviving presence. When we turn to the Lord in hopeful trust, the promise at the end of today’s first reading can come to pass for us, ‘those who hope in the Lord renew their strength; they put out wings like the eagles’. The Lord comes to revive our drooping spirits, so that we, in turn, can be a reviving presence for others whose spirits are low.
And/Or
(ii) Wednesday, Second Week of Advent
We often associate weariness with advancing years. However, the first reading this morning declares that ‘young men may grow tired and weary’. Even those in their prime may grow tired and weary. What is true for those in their prime is certainly true for the rest of us. We can all grow tired and weary for various reasons. Physical weariness is the easiest to deal with. Very often a good night’s sleep will deal with that kind of tiredness. Weariness of heart and of spirit can be more difficult to deal with. A good night’s sleep will not necessarily deal with emotional or spiritual weariness. This is the kind of weariness which leaves us lacking in any kind of hopeful energy. It can be brought on by many things, such as persistent criticism, failure, be it personal or communal, a negativity that prevails about church and state, putting effort into something that seems to lead nowhere. The first reading also declares that even though young men may grow tired and weary, the Lord does not grow tired or weary. The Lord remains full of life, because he is life itself. Our communion with the Lord of life can bring life to our declining spirits and strength to our weariness. That is why, in the gospel reading, Jesus calls on those who labour and are overburdened to come to him and promises them rest for their souls and spirits. In Advent we call on Jesus to come to us, ‘Maranatha, Come Lord’. Today’s readings remind us that the Lord also calls on us to come to him, so as to draw strength from his strength and life from his life.
And/Or
(iii) Wednesday, Second Week of Advent
There is a close correspondence between the image of God in the first reading and the image of Jesus in the gospel reading. In the first reading God speaks of himself as someone who never grows tired or weary and, because of that, can give strength to the wearied and strengthen the powerless. In the gospel reading Jesus speaks of himself as someone who gives rest to those who labour and are overburdened. As a result, he calls on all those who labour and are overburdened to come to him. The message of both readings is that the Lord has a special ministry to those who are tired and weary, to those who are labouring and weighed down by burdens of one kind or another. The end of that first reading says, ‘Young men may grow tired and weary; youths may stumble’. How much more is that the case with those of us who no longer quite qualify as young men or women. We can easily grow tired and weary, including growing tired and weary of serving others. The reading declares that ‘those who hope in the Lord renew their strength, they put our wings like eagles’. We need to keep drawing on the Lord’s strength if we are to give his strength to others. At the heart of our relationship with those you serve is our own relationship with the Lord. Advent is a good season to come before the Lord in our weakness, perhaps in our tiredness, and to ask him to fill us with his strength, so that we can be channels of his life-giving strength to others, especially to those who are overburdened.
And/Or
(iv) Wednesday, Second week of Advent
The first reading declares that ‘young men may grow tired and weary’. We know from experience that it is not only young men who can grow tired and weary. We can all grow tired and weary. Tiredness and weariness comes to us all from time to time. Indeed, in the words of the gospel reading, we can find ourselves labouring and feeling overburdened. The run-up to Christmas can have that effect on people. Other, more traumatic experiences in life can leave us feeling tired and weary, labouring and overburdened. That first reading also declares that the Lord ‘does not grow tired or weary’. Because he does not grow tired or weary, he calls out to those who are tired and weary, inviting them to come to him, and promising them rest. The Lord can be our strength when we are weak, our rest when we are tired, our support when we are burdened. The great Advent prayer is our invitation, ‘Come, Lord, Jesus’. However, in the gospel reading, it is the Lord who invites us to come. His call to us is prior to our prayer to him. When in responding to that call of the Lord we experience him as our strength, our rest, our support, we, in turn, can be a source of strength, rest and support to each other. The strength we receive from the Lord is for others as well as for ourselves.
And/Or
(v) Wednesday, Second Week of Advent
We tend to associate advancing years with declining energy. As we get older, we don’t always have the energy we once had, and this can a source of frustration for us. Yet, today’s first reading from Isaiah acknowledges that even ‘young men may grow tired and weary’, and that even ‘youths may stumble’. There is such a thing as a weariness of the spirit, which can affect people at any age. Some young people can seem listless, whereas some older people can be full of vitality. Isaiah declares in that reading that the Lord is the one who alone can address and deal with this kind of weariness of spirit. ‘He gives strength to the wearied, he strengthens the powerless’. The Lord does not grow tired or weary. He is the Lord of life who remains vibrant at all times. By turning towards him in our weakness and weariness we can imbibe some of his perennial strength and vitality. In the words of Isaiah, ‘those who hope in the Lord renew their strength’. This is the promise that Jesus makes in the gospel reading, ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest’. There is much in life that can deaden our spirit, at any age. It is the Lord, and our relationship with him, that can keep us young and vital even in old age. The Lord comes to us as strength in our weakness, as vitality in our weariness, as hope in our despondency. What is asked of us is that we welcome his coming and be attentive to his presence to us.
And/Or
(vi) Wednesday, Second Week of Advent
We are in the season of Advent and the prayer we often pray in Advent is, ‘Come, Lord Jesus’. Advent is a season when we try to open our lives more fully to the coming of the Lord. We call on him to ‘come’ into our hearts, minds and lives. In today’s gospel reading, however, it is Jesus who calls on us to come to him, ‘Come to me, all you who labour and are overburdened, and I will give you rest’. There are always those two movements in the lives of people of faith. We invite the Lord to come to us and we try to respond to the Lord’s call to come to him. The primary element in that two fold movement is the Lord’s call to us to come. He calls us to come before we call on him to come. He has loved us before we have loved him. The call of Jesus in today’s gospel reading is a very personal call, ‘Come to me’. He doesn’t say come to my teaching or come to my followers, but, ‘come to me’. That personal call of the Lord is addressed to each one of us without exception. Jesus also makes a promise to those who respond to his call to come to him, ‘I will give you rest’. What is Jesus promising there? We sometimes think of rest as the absence of activity. However, in the bible, ‘rest’ suggests the refreshing break that travellers in a barren desert would find in some oasis they come across. In that sense, ‘rest’ is a revival or renewal of our body and spirit. ‘Rest’ in that sense is more akin to ‘strength’. In the first reading, the prophet says that the Lord ‘gives strength to the wearied’. We can all become wearied in body, mind and spirit, especially in these Covid times. In the gospel reading Jesus promises restful strength to those who come to him. In the lovely image of the first reading, ‘those who hope in the Lord renew their strength, they put wings like the eagles’. This Advent we ask the Lord for such wings!

The Eclipse Dungeon
Tumblr media
-Art by Alexey Karelin (Art Station).
Hey everyone, I made a little dungeon for 13th Age. Fair warning I've not had a chance to test this out mechanics wise, but with the second edition being worked on I figured I'd post this. I highly recommend this system for anyone who finds Pathfinder "too crunchy" its relatively simple and abstract but has a lot of cool little mechanics you can use.
To set the scene for The Eclipse Dungeon. Your party (Level 1 recommending 3+ players) have been asked to investigate a dungeon underneath strange ruins which were recently discovered. Unlike other castles from forgotten eras, there are no signs of undead or diabolical intent. In fact, you could scarcely call it a castle. A few mushroom shaped towers connected by a hollow wall, strange mixtures of architecture far older than any of the current icons. Their catacombs lay bear of dead, with only a tunnel leading deep underneath remaining there. At its end, a platform which descends, by magic, into the dungeon your adventurers will face. No monsters, undead, or even ordinary folk have attacked them yet.
Tumblr media
So, above is a map with a layout for the dungeon, but I figured I should do my best to explain the key first. A purple heart simply marks the locations where enemies appear, not their quantity. However a larger purple heart does indicate a greater challenge. Gold circles represent key items, which are pieces used in the resolution of various puzzles throughout each maze. The blue squares mark the locations of the puzzles themselves, or more accurately where they can be finished. Red lines indicate barriers which can be opened or locked depending on how they are interacted with. A puzzle or key item will indicate which door is unlocked. The ascent points marked indicate your exit from this dungeon.
Puzzle 1
When the PCs arrive in the dungeon they encounter three barriers and an opening to the South-East maze. Above it is writing which no individual party member can read. To decipher it requires a difficult (16+) Intelligence check from a character, adding background skills if applicable. On a normal (11+) result, Human and Elf characters can each determine part of this message. Human characters read: "Long ago... sun and... clung together... kingdoms into". Meanwhile elves read: "... the... the moon... plunging two... darkness". A character with the Linguist feat only requires a normal (11+) Intelligence check to translate it. If they are an elf or human reduce this to an easy (6+) check instead. The full message is "Long ago the sun and the moon clung together plunging two kingdoms into darkness".
There are two tapestries in this maze, at locations 2 and 3. The tapestry at location 2 shows an army of dark elves wearing silver armour. Additionally, there are empty armour suits being controlled by a Drow Mage in the tapestry. She wields a black iron sword edged in silver alongside her wand. This Drow Queen stands at the back of her people. Meanwhile, the tapestry at location 3 shows human warriors led by a figure in golden armour. These soldiers are surrounded by golden light, fighting despite grievous injuries. The Human King wields a staff of gold weaved with bone white wood from which thorns grow. The Drow Queen tapestry is close to location 1, which contains a golden orb; their first key item. Location 3 is close to location 4, which contains their second key item; a silver disk. These can then be taken to the blue square for this maze.
Tumblr media
-Art from the Britannica website.
In the final room, there are two statues. One is of the Elf Queen, the other of the Human King. Both have their weapons pointed at each other, however their eyes are shielded against a pillar between the pair of them. In this pillar is a circular indentation, the golden orb glows warmly when placed in there. After this, they must place the disk over that orb to simulate an eclipse. The disk and orb grow dark, all light within pushed to their edges which hurts to look at. This opens the gate into the Western labyrinth, where they will find the second puzzle of this dungeon.
On their way back out players will find new tapestries at 4.5. Hanging to the left of the exit from this maze is a tapestry of the Drow Queen, to the right is the Human King. Above the head of the Drow Queen is the left half of the eclipse, and she now commands animated armours against a hoard of undead. She now wields a staff which was once belonged to an enemy. In her hand what was once pale wood is silver coiled against gold, their briars curling up and around an onyx disk. Similarly, the Human King is posed beneath the other half of that eclipse with gold bathed soldiers battling monsters of various kinds. He has pierced through the heart of a demon with what was once her sword, which is now golden edged with silver and has an onyx in its pommel. A normal (11+) Intelligence check, including applicable background skills, will inform a PC that the events depicted here are ancient. Specifically, they learn this takes place in the mythic age and depict "The Blinding Night". A decade long eclipse which caused monsters, demons, and undead to become more active. On a 16+ they have heard of the Eclipse Royals, mythic rulers of a hybrid kingdom between a nation of moon worshipping Dark Elves and sun worshipping humans.
This is getting enormous so I'll continue this is subsequent posts. Please follow if you want to see the rest of this dungeon.

BACKGROUND.
Florence’s early childhood was spent in the cold north of the Guatier region, her family having lived in the Holy Kingdom of Farghus for generations, if rather in the same place. Given many of her ancestors' penchant for trade and mercantile work, they had a tendency of moving to wherever location provided the most work, and roughly around the time of Florences’ 13th birthday, her family moved once more. This time, instead of staying within the borders of their ancestral home, they moved to Leicester, passing through Galatea and Daphnel territory, before eventually settling down in Riegan territory, in one of the smaller towns, not terribly far from the capital of Derdriu.
In the 6 years between their relocation to Leicester and Florence’s attendance of the Officers Academy, her family was quick to adapt to the need of the townspeople, and as such, Florence spent much of the passing years learning all many of trade skills: sewing, leatherwork, fencing (for protection while traveling), pegasus care (learned while passing through Galatea specifically), herbology, cooking, and medicinal training.
Upon arriving at the Monastery, they joined the Golden Deer House and lent their support to their classmates with their various skills and hobbies.
After the Monastery fell, they traveled to Derdriu, rather than their hometown, in order to open up their own business; a combination of shop, where they carry tools that they are familiar with using, and a school, where they teach anyone who wants to learn skills that they are proficient in. In making their own business, they make sure to keep in touch with Claude, Hilda, and Lorenz, in order to keep their supply routes open, as well as wanting to stay aware of what else happens in Alliance.

PERSONALITY.
(Pre Timeskip)
Very soft spoken, Florence grew up in chaos and thus, while very accustomed to it, savors and prefers quieter moments and places. A gentle soul, they do not enjoy fighting but are very aware of the necessity in learning how to fight, in large part to having experienced multiple dangers while traveling in the road. They prefer to be a defensive fighter as a result, preferring to strike from a distance or provide support to their allies.
Good with their hands, they do take pride in the things they create (especially fabric / textile & thread based items & leatherwork), even if they do not say as much out loud, and many gifts they give and enjoy receiving are those that are handmade, but they also enjoy giving and receiving good food.
(Post Timeskip)
While they remain soft spoken and prefer gentility and quiet spaces, they certainly grow into a more self assured, assertive (when necessary), and more quietly confident after taking care of their own business during the timeskip. They are of far stronger personality, mainly due to their newfound confidence, they still do not like the limelight and are far happier to let others take the glory and spotlight.
In combat, they still prefer to be a defensive / support based unit, rather than a front line fighter, but thanks to their speed and evasion, they can more readily handle being at the front

His parents didn't marry and stopped communicating until later on. They rekindled their relationship and married in secret against Hiro's mother's will.
Hiro, in secret, formed a relationship with his parents but eventually, his grandfather found out about it and threatened to disown him. Hiro was worried at first because he didn't have his own money and experience. But after learning how the real world works at a very young age - saving money, earning money, investing separately from his grandparents' wealth - he's able to build up his own future however, it cannot be compared to what his grandparents could provide.
In reality, his grandparents cannot disown him as he is the only heir they recognize. His mother, their biological child, is the only child.
Hiro compromised with his grandparents; he will run the business in the future but that he is not going to stop seeing his parents and his siblings. Little by little he works on chipping away the frozen ice that surrounds his grandfather in hopes that in the future, he'd be able to unite his family together.
Despite being a hard worker and for the most part, an obedient grandchild, Hiro can be a rebel and continuously questioned his grandparents. He's sent to France a few times but he doesn't take it as a punishment and instead, he network with everyone he meets.
ROMANTIC HISTORY: Hiro has many flings in the past but he doesn't settle or doesn't have a lasting relationship because he's easily swayed.

The Uchiwa’s (Rework)
I reworked my jjk ocs, this post will be long but full of some detailed information if your curious in reading, and if anything is spelled wrong or something then excuse me I was half asleep writing most of these lol
@fifteenskies15 your babs are mentioned
Tumblr media
General Info:
Name: Kiyomeru Uchiwa (清める)
Alias: The Healing Hand
Species: Human
Birthday: May 13th
Age: 34 (at the time of his death)
Height: 180cm (5′11″)
Occupation: Jujutsu Sorcerer
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
Grade: semi-1
About:
Kiyomeru was a very kind man, with a heart big and full of love towards everyone that knew and was close to him. He gave everything and anything to his wife and kids, and he treated his sons equally as well, never treating them differently under any circumstance. Not even when he was feeling stressed or if he had a bad start to his day. He was the rock in the family. Anyone could go to him for advice. Until, his unexpected death saddened everyone and took them by surprise. Soon, buried in the Uchiwa clan garden that suddenly started to become full of blooming plants and the most livily part of the house. Some even say that, the plants can't be removed, without more growing back.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Regenerative Touch
Allows Kiyomeru to heal others who got injured by a curse. If he uses his powers on someone with injuries from another human, that could cause more pain to the injuries or death by combustion. However, he was very helpful to the Sorcerers and even became their doctor.
His ability does not work on him.
It's more of a supporting ability, not something to attack curses with, so control over it is normal and his power level is also normal

General Info:
Name: Yoru Uchiwa (夜)
Alias: The Black-Hearted, The Depraved
Species: Human part Curse
Birthday: October 11th
Age: 102(?) (Looks 40 in appearance)
Height: 182cm(6′0″)
Occupation: N/A
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
Grade: Special Grade
About:
Yoru is a wicked bitch managing to keep herself alive for years and using all her family members to find the purity she's missing. The blood of her family stains her hands as she taints her own son, Mamoru, wanting to see how far she can push him before he shatters completely. Mamoru is her gem, her beloved son that she only cares about for his purity, She's been using him for years, taking everything good from his life, his brother, his wife, and his own children. It wasn't that she cared for them, she would kill anyone in her family if it meant her survival however he is starting to fail her, the darkness is consuming him slowly and she can't have that. He was supposed to be their savior. But luckily her great-granddaughter shows promise of freeing them from the darkness and Yoru would do anything to sacrifice her as she did her own husband. She only gets away with it by using the sorcerer's lack of safety, manipulation, and grief she puts on her family to cover her back and make some of her family want to butcher the sorcerers for things they never actually did to them.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Mimicker
Allows Yoru to mirror the movements of another curse energy user, even knowing their next move and what their powers will be if they attack, However she can only do it to one person and if interrupted or trying to be stopped by any others if they are around can cause instant death to her and the person she is mirroring, meaning her powers are not just dangerous to others but also herself.
Her power level is high and so is her control over the ability
Tumblr media
General Info:
Name: Mamoru Uchiwa (守る)
Alias: Evil incarnated
Species: Human
Birthday: November 28th
Age: 82
Height: 180cm (5′11″)
Occupation: Jujutsu Sorcerer (Former)
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
Grade: Special Grade
About:
Mamoru was very strict when it came to his kids, wanting the best for them even if they didn't see it but similarly to his father, he treated them the same. He was always there when they needed him and tried his hardest to be a good father to them, after all, his own has been absent for years and the loss of Akeru's older twin. it pushed him to be the best dad he could be even when it all falls apart the older he gets. When he was younger many believed that the death of his father changed him and made him unenjoyable to be around, Mamoru was moody and could easily be ticked off, once he'd begun moving away from his mother with his wife and kids however, he became best friends with his neighbors Kaname and Tamae Hagihara. Mainly Kaname who he'd end up spending a lot of time with even allowing their kids to play together, the two work in Kaname's office making a book together. It can get chaotic pretty quickly from how the two have different views of how the story can go and only sometimes agree on certain ideas. Mamoru also seems to have an issue turning his back on dire situations. Yaburu would even say “ Four eyes, yet you still can’t see”.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: True Darkness
Allows Mamoru to control any area that might be covered in darkness, His powers can form into claw-like hands that can stretch and protect him from sneaky curses in battle, and weapons infused with darkness can allow him to make easier cuts into a curse, only downfall is that if he isn't careful he could lose control and go on a murderous spree, especially with his darkening hair that makes it harder for him to control his killer urges.
However, Unlike most Uchiwa's he has full control over his powers if he keeps focus and can use them easily without needing to worry about anything too horrible happening. If he breaks out of his focus things could get a bit....destructive.
General Info:
Name: Seisuru Uchiwa
Species: Human
Birthday: December 19th
Age: 50 (at time of her death)
Height: 180cm (5′11″)
Occupation: N/A
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
About:
Seisuru was a quiet and calm lady, being extremely close to her daughter. They would spend the night talking, braiding each other's hair, and trying on clothes with one another.  To her husband and kids, she seemed cheerful but that was not the reality as she was tortured by her mother-in-law who forced her to do whatever she wanted. No one knew of their abusive relationship or how Seisuru couldn't pick out her own clothes or food, her mother-in-law was in control of everything she did. Yoru even injured her, being the one to stab the poor woman's eye out, Seisuru never said anything about it to anyone but it was noticeable that she was becoming miserable and tried to hide it when with her kids. Luckily she would be freed from that when Mamoru decided they should move out and find their own place to stay. Her life became joyful in the new house and was happy to see her husband finally make a friend But her Joy dissipated from the house after her planned murder.

General Info:
Name: Osaeru Uchiwa (抑える)
Alias: Mother of curses
Species: Human
Birthday: May 1st
Age: 55
Height: 170cm (5′7″)
Occupation: N/A
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
Grade: 1
About:
The murder of their mother at a young age consumed her, making Osaeru delusional which started tampering with her sense of reality making her believe things that weren't even true, she has always been protective of her younger brother since then, so much so that it has become unhealthy for the both of them. She has a kind heart and wants nothing but the best for her brother but has ended up getting him and many others into her delusional world where all sorcerers must die when her brother was in training to be one, she felt they took him away from her and she meant nothing to him anymore especially when he made friends with Kanata. She filled herself with lies about sorcerers and now wants to kill them all for what she believes they've done.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Mothers Call
Allows Osaeru to call upon the curses that live within her, each will enhance her power level making her stronger depending on how many she calls out to, she can also make her curses stalk others such as Akeru having the curse looking like his wife which follows him around. However the curses won't be able to move and the only way to stop her is by cutting the very thin lines that connect them all together, she will feel pain once a line is cut and it could stop her from using their power as the curse will no longer be under her control.
Her control over this power is in between but definitely needs work

General Info:
Name: (明 ) Akuru Uchiwa
Alias: The Immortal one, Two Face, Untouchable fool
Species: Human
Birthday:  February 7th
Age: 50 (Looks 30 in appearance)
Height: 180cm (5′11″)
Occupation: N/A
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
Grade: Special Grade
About:
Akuru was taken away from his family when he was a baby, he grew up in secret with Yoru who tested on him to try and get a sample of his blood, however, his Curse was protecting his body making it hard for her to do so until she was able to find a way to force the Curse away from his body. It didn't last long as his Curse evolved as he got older making everything and anything break when hitting Akuru lightly. Akuru would then be forced into training with Yoru who made him be a Murder, filled him with lies about his parents, Sorcerers, and even what happens when an Uchiwa gains scars or black hair. He never knew the truth for the longest time before he became sick of her ideals and found it to be immoral, he was tired of shedding blood so he vanished when he saw the right opening, being exactly when Akeru had killed his wife on accident.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Darkest Protection
Allows Akuru to keep himself safe from attacks, Curses will burn if they touch him, and humans will break bones or die in a horribly contorted way, it activates on its own when he is in trouble and protects him as a mother would. This also means he has no control over using it but, his is also the least destructive in the family
Tumblr media
General Info:
Name: Akeru Uchiwa (空ける)
Alias: The Shattered Soul
Species: Human
Birthday: February 7th
Age: 50
Height: 180cm (5′11″)
Occupation: Jujutsu Sorcerer
Affiliation: The Uchiwa clan (Former)
Grade: Special Grade
About:
Aloof and vicious, definitely not the type of person you'd like to be around or close to, after his assumed death he was full of murderous hate towards sorcerers even those he truly cared for. Clouded with so much anger he forgot his humanity and slaughtered anything or one that would try to stop him, wanting nothing more than to ruin and destroy every sorcerer alive even his own children. His daughter, Kageru, disappeared for a whole month after hearing the news being too distraught to teach or be around others during that time, because of this his son, Takeru had to go back to the Jujutsu school to try and help find their father much to his and many others distaste. And Akeru's closest friend, Kanata, was left confused and heartbroken by the terrifying realization his dead childhood friend was alive, butchering sorcerers in the cruelest ways possible. It wasn't his fault, he was being told lies and controlled by a curse that shaped itself into the image of his deceased wife. It took away his memories and made him forget himself, so when Kanata fought him and killed the curse it knocked his childhood friend out of the trance he was in. But after everything he's done, many have found it hard to put their trust in Akeru and he has been forced to stay indoors, going from his father's home to Kanata's father's home to try and bring more special memories back to him. Once that had happened he wanted nothing more than to save his sister from the insanity of their grandmother not yet knowing or finding out about his twin.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Pain Sharer
Allows Akeru's curse to feed off his pain and injuries even healing them when the attacks are from curses not Kanata's or another Sorcerer as that would only allow him to minimalize his pain with one injury but the next will double in pain depending on how many times he has gotten hit.
It also allows him to infuse his darkness into weapons such as his Tachi or his fists and feet to allow for stronger attacks but has to be careful since it could cost him his arms, legs, etc since he doesn't have the strength to really protect himself from it. But he does have speed making it hard to hit him sometimes unless he is trying to get hit.
He has close to the weakest control over his Curse energy in the family but it is as strong as Mamoru's
Tumblr media
General Info:
Name: Tataru Uchiwa (祟る)
Species: Curse, Human (Former)
Birthday: December 19th
Age: 23 (at time of her death)
Height: 180cm (5′11″)
Occupation: N/A
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
About:
Tataru was clever and formidable, never letting anything get her down but no one knew she was a hardworking mother as she kept herself looking beautiful, youthful, and elegant. She would always buy the most stunning clothes for her kids and spoil them rotten, when she would visit her best friend Minami Hagihara, she would take her kids with and they would sometimes play with Minami's kids, Akeru also won't admit it but there have been times she destroyed him in bed, but sadly like many others in the Uchiwa family, she was killed and by her  husband at that, of course, it was an accident but now a curse takes her place to fill the void within her husband's heart.
Tumblr media
General Info:
Name: Kageru Uchiwa (薫る)
Alias: The mist
Species: Human
Birthday: October 28th
Age: 25
Height: 162cm (5′4″)
Occupation: Jujutsu Sorcerer, Teacher
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College
Grade: Special Grade
About:
Kageru is naturally calm and well-mannered but strict when it comes to teaching the students of Jujutsu High, most students are scared of her and never want to know what it’s like to get on her bad side. The only two that really know of her bad side are her two friends Satoru Gojo and Kiryuu Hagihara (who will be her future husband). Even then, those two know not to make her angry. Besides that Kageru is almost a jump scare of a person from how she comes out of nowhere and starts talking. She is so quick in her movement that no one sees or hears her coming. She grew up with her grandfather and brother after what happened to their father, she believed her father was truly dead and always imagined meeting him, getting to bond and know one another however she never thought it would come true or that her father would be trying to kill her.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Shadow Acceleration
Allows Kaegeru to be the fastest in the family, Some say it's as if she is teleporting because her feet don't even look like they are moving, she is also able to move any part of her body quickly not just her legs. Cutting Curses into pieces easily with her fan blades and her unlike some other Uchiwa's she doesn't have to worry about losing control of her powers
Tumblr media
General Info:
Name: Takeru Uchiwa (武猛)
Alias: The Beast
Species: Human
Birthday: February 20th
Age: 16
Height: 175cm (5′9″) 243cm (8'0" beast form)
Occupation: Jujutsu Sorcerer (Former)
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan, Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College(Former)
Grade: Special Grade
About:
Full of hatred towards his father Takeru has tried his best to not become like him however no matter his attempts, it’s failing, no matter how much he tries to look like their mother- that girl, her death, he’s becoming him Takeru can feel it, the betrayal, rejection, and death that will come if he stays a sorcerer. So he’s stepped away and decided to get his mental state together but his sister’s been trying to let him know that it wasn’t his fault that girl died, it was an accident. He couldn’t control it after all. He should let it go but...why can't he? Because he can't become like him. He has made a promise to himself that he'd never use his powers again no matter what might be happening around him.
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Beast within
Allows Takeru to turn into a curse-like beast, a mask forms on his face, losing control of his body and mind, his beast state he will be able to easily overpower any curses however he would have to be calmed down and treated like a dog almost, to bring Takeru back to himself, he had many issues trying to control the beast and feels it trying to claw its way out of him now that he has stopped using it, his control over it, is as bad as Akeru's is

Birthday: July 15th
Age: 71 (Looks 30 in appearance)
Height: 182cm (6′0″)
Occupation: Teacher(former)
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
About:
Used to be a fun-loving guy but after the death of his wife and child which he believes happened due to a curse attack and sorcerers who failed to be safe, he slowly started to lose himself, and he became extremely close to his niece and nephew almost too much. Trying to fill the void and bring happiness into his life again. His brother was worried for him as he seemed possessive over the two, but in the end, it didn't matter. Yaburu would soon murder Seisuru over jealously that his brother was able to have a family and be more loved by their mother, now he forever tries to tear his older brother down in hopes he could finally get the attention he always wanted from Yoru
Curse Energy/Jujutsu: Puppeteer
Allows Yaburu to control another Sorcerer with his cursed arm, he puts his cursed energy into them before allowing them to fight for him however this doesn't mean he isn't a formidable fighter on his own, he could quite easily crack a person's back in half with his knee if wanted, but the person being controlled can be easily killed by another sorcerer or curse so he uses them more as decoys if any are around him.

Birthday: April 13th
Age: 4 (at time of her death)
Height: 93cm ('37")
Occupation: N/A
Affiliation: The Uchiwa Clan
About:
She was Energetic but shy, barely got to know her cousins or Uncle, and was fated to an untimely death.
Trivia For all Uchiwa's
Their hair will become dark showing how they really feel through a tough time, being mentally stressed and breaking, it doesn’t go away even when they do get better
Something will snap inside them that allows them to do cruel things without care, so Uchiwa's with even the slightest of dark hair means that they would kill someone at any time depending on their feelings
Scars mean how many they’ve killed on their murderous spree of insanity and some being that they killed people with their own hands or caused an accident that killed people
Scars all have a starting place on each Uchiwa: An example is an x-like scar on Yoru's chest
All Uchiwa's have some type of flexibility
Kiyomeru had an interest in gardening and made most meals for his family with fresh food from his gardens
Kiyomeru loved Yoru even though their marriage was an arranged one
Yoru is the main reason the Uchiwa's have so many issues, causing more and more chaos as years go on
Yoru doesn't use her Curse Energy much, meaning she has killed sorcerers without using any of her powers against them, just pure strength and speed. mainly because she finds her powers to be useless.
Yoru used Akuru and Kiyomeru's Curse powers as a way to make a youth serum which is what the canisters wrapped around some of their legs hold
Yoru dislikes the Hagihara clan and will threaten their life at any moment, even using them to keep Mamoru quiet because he knows her threats can become real and fast
Akeru and Osaeru are the only two who haven't taken the youth serum
Akeru was born with sharp fang-like teeth and the reasoning is unknown, some believe it's from his Curse powers
When Akeru was younger he was outgoing and always had a smile on his face even with all the injuries he endured from his curse technique
Akeru wears an eyepatch after losing control of his cursed ability when he was 8 and ended up clawing his eye out brutally, he doesn't remember this incident very well
Akeru also gets nosebleeds very easily when using his Curse energy
Akeru holds the Hagihara flower close to his heart no matter if he remembers Kanata or not, and will drop everything to find it if he lost it
Akeru calls Takeru, "Taki" or "Jalapeno" as a reference to his son's attitude towards him
Osaeru dislikes Akeru's childhood friend and would do anything to have his head
Osaeru became overprotective of Akeru after Akuru disappeared and their mother was killed
Osaeru does get freed from the grasp of her grandmother with the help of Akeru
The girl that Takeru killed was part of the high-class Saki clan, who got him banned from being able to continue his sorcerer training
Takeru wears feathers similarly to what his mother has worn to remember her
Kageru's outfit is made from her grandmother's older clothes that Mamoru allowed her to use and take
Yaburu is bi, and would probably have been attracted to Tadamichi Hagahara if he was still alive and if they ever met
I think that’s all lmao

The Tragic Story of Nex Benedict Is About Far More Than the Vulture Media's Exploitative Narrative
Tumblr media
Now that we have the full autopsy report for Dagney (Nex) Benedict, many of the questions surrounding her overdose have been answered. The full report, released by the Chief Medical Officer and Board of Medicolegal Investigations on March 27th, 2024, confirms what the earlier Medical Examiner’s Office reported on March 13th, 2024. There were “massive” amounts of Diphenhydramine, more commonly known over the counter as Benadryl,” in Dagney’s blood.
Dr. Paul Wax, the Executive Director of the American College of Toxicology, reviewed the results and confirmed she could have consumed 50 to 100 pills to reach that toxicity level. Her routine medication, fluoxetine, for bipolar disorder was present and may have contributed, a second authority concluded. Her death was intentionally self-inflicted.
The report indicated, “The 11 pages released indicate handwritten notes ‘suggestive of self-harm’ were found in Nex's room by family members, and that the teen has a history of ‘bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, self-harm (cutting).’”
While advocacy groups remain insistent that her distress sourced from bullying at school, Dagney did not indicate this in her last notes. The Owasso Police Department released a statement saying, “Although the notes do not make any reference to the earlier fight or difficulties at school, the parents indicated that Benedict reported being picked upon for various reasons while at school.”
As is usual in these cases, there is much more to the story. A hint was provided by the Washington Post on February 21st, 2024, that never made it beyond that report. Describing Dagney’s funeral, the article states that Dagney's cousin spoke “along with her mother and Benedict. Nex’s biological mother was among the mourners; their father, who is in prison for abuse, was not.” That last detail may have been more impactful than realized.
On July 17th, 2019, when Dagney was 11 years old, an arrest warrant was issued for James Everette Hughes, Dagney’s father. He was arrested on July 31st, 2019, in Sebastian County, AR. The charge was for rape of a minor under the age of 14, during the time period between May 2017 and August 2017, when Dagney was nine years old. Among many witnesses was Sue Benedict, the grandmother who would adopt Dagney in 2019.
Hughes would accept a plea deal to sexual assault in the second degree on November 27th, 2019. He was sentenced to five years in prison with ten years suspended. He would be placed on the sex offender list and have no contact with his daughter. He was arrested again on January 25th, 2024, by the Little Rock Police Department for failing to comply with reporting as a sex offender, two weeks before Dagney would take her own life.
Hughes’ new case, in Pulaski County, AR, 60CR-24-894: State v. James Everette Hughes, was filed on March 5th, 2024 for the offense of failing to register as a sex offender or report address change. His next court date is scheduled for May 2nd, 2024. Hughes’ arrest record can be found here, LRCR-24-389, filed on January 26th, 2024.
Case details are difficult to read, and the following information is graphic. In the report, Dagney, age 11, would tell investigators her father anally raped her when she was nine years old. She reported he had molested her for years prior.
The case details and documents can be found here, 66FCR-19-560: State v. James Everette Hughes, and the Sebastian County AR Inmate Inquiry. Jeremy L. Quinn, a reporter, broke the details of her father in a series of tweets and TikTok videos, which launched this investigation into official records. He provides additional details of family members sharing their experience, including the recent arrest of her father.
The group, Bikers Against Child Abuse, was named as a beneficiary for donations at Nex’s funeral, as reported by Quinn and they provided a funeral procession. He states, “A rep confirmed to me that Nex was 'a BACA kid' who would receive support. Fellow survivors in the program get road vests, a road name, and support other survivors.”
Quinn also provided screenshots from Dagney’s aunt, sharing childhood photos and describing the abuse her brother committed, disowning him.
Dagney, referred to as D.H. in the files, along with her birth name and the name of a younger sibling, would be adopted by Sue Benedict and relocated to Oklahoma to rebuild her life. She was a survivor who endured extreme trauma from someone she was supposed to be able to trust. Her life was upended, and she understandably struggled greatly. Bullying from other students may have impacted her more deeply than she let on, but from the evidence she provided, her pain was much, much more profound.
Dagney, who went by Nex, Roach and Roachie, according to her friends and social media accounts, again provided by the research of Quinn above, identified as gender fluid, nonbinary, two-spirited and trans. She used they/them and he/him pronouns off and on, and her preferred identity changed depending on her social environment — something common with many teenagers.
However, despite media headlines, there is no evidence she was specifically targeted for her gender identity. While much of the conversation has surrounded the confrontation in the bathroom with younger girls and the resulting physical injuries suffered by everyone involved, it truly no longer matters. Alleged anti-LGBTQ legislation or alleged anti-LGBTQ rhetoric by Republicans or conservative figures outspoken against progressive LGBTQ activism in schools was simply not involved.
Dagney was fighting an internal battle, suffering with serious mental health issues, depression, and anxiety. She engaged in self-harm, experienced mood swings, and, per her grandmother’s 911 call, had to be carefully monitored for potential overdose concerns. We don’t know if she was aware of her father’s release or his arrest in January. Her suicide notes only tell us, from vague reporting by the police, that her family and her personal experience influenced her decision.
What we do know is she did not deserve to become an icon for a social justice movement determined to use her name and her face to push political outrage and policy demands. The girls she started a fight with did not deserve to be targeted with online hatred and vile accusations from the media, with even the President releasing a statement implicating them indirectly in a hate crime.
None of this should have happened. Her death should have remained with her family, allowing them peace to mourn, especially considering all they had gone through. The media took a deeply traumatized young girl and exploited her suffering for their own political purposes, lying, fabricating, and continuing to twist the story into a narrative they could use to push their own agenda.
The truth, however, is far more likely the result of a failed legal system, trauma, struggles with mental health, and a young girl far too overwhelmed to handle it all on her own, despite the brave persona she presented to the world. We must remember her life and all she survived in context over and above the last two days of her life. Anything else is exploitation.

Brine dragons are a form of elementally attuned beings known as the primal dragons. Deeply connected to elemental water, brine dragons are far more comfortable in salt water than fresh, though they can survive in both. They also have a preference for more stagnant water, which also extends into their political stances. Change and chaos are unpleasant, and brine dragons are far more comfortable in an unchanging environment, physically and emotionally. Often this manifests into disliking charity and kindness, as these seek to highlight flaws in a system and provide aid to those failed by it, which is an insult to the dragon's views of the present. Things are fine as they are, and any attempt to change things suggests otherwise. This can lead to them becoming petty tyrants, unleashing force to ensure "their" kingdom never sees any sort of growth or improvements in lifestyle, ironically causing things to spiral down and become worse in the name of keeping them from getting better.
Their association with salt heavily infuses their body, rimes of thick, toxic salt encrusting their scales and teeth. The water they breath is so salty it burns skin, and a scratch from a brine dragon embeds salt crystals into the wound that are agonizing. They are quick enough to spit burning brine at those who attempt to attack them from range or cast spells, interrupting the actions and protecting themselves. Brine dragons often take over groups of underwater dwelling creatures, such as merfolk and sahuagin. Younger dragons will force those creatures to join them in battle, but as they get older don't rely on "lesser beings" to protect them and their territory.

It's Not Easy Being Green (in Formula One)
(This is an old blog post from July 13th 2023)
Tumblr media
Some may argue that 11th July will go down as the trigger of 2023's silly season as it was announced, after completing (or for better words; starting) 10 races, AlphaTauri's Nyck de Vries would be replaced with seasoned driver Daniel Ricciardo for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix and beyond.
Safe to say, the internet exploded.
The situation, which has been the subject of numerous discussion for a while based on De Vries' performance and (James Bond villain club reject) Helmut Marko's unfavourable statements in the media, caused a storm online with a variety of differing opinions arising. However, the general consensus agrees that the treatment of Nyck by AlphaTauri and Red Bull has been extremely unfair and has called into question how the team treats its underperforming drivers.
After a string of consecutive poor qualifying and race results, as well as media backlash and criticism from Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko, De Vries was released from the AlphaTauri team. After 10 races. Ouch. Replacing him is Daniel Ricciardo, who made his debut in the same team. We call that coming a full circle!
The drama has made me wonder about the general fate for rookies in F1.
I've only been an F1 watcher since the start of this season, so I haven't seen the comings and goings of drivers in the modern era of the sport. However, having a subscription to F1TV gives me access to an archive of past Formula One seasons and I have been watching old races starting from the 2007 season. Over the course of the five seasons (2007-2011) I have watched so far, I have seen a variety of drivers debut with varying levels of success and failure.
Two notable drivers whose rookie seasons set them up to be icons of the sport during this period were Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel.
Tumblr media
Seb and Lewis in 2005. Did someone say baby GOATs?
Lewis finished on the podium in his debut race, and ended up becoming the runner up in the championship battle that year. In his debut year!!!!!!! In 2008, rookie Sebastian took his Toro Rosso team (the less successful baby sister of Red Bull) from pole to flag in Monza, the first of many successes not long after his first year in F1. Lewis and Seb have 11 (or 12...) world championships combined; definitely a future that anyone could have predicted from their debut seasons.
With Lewis having the backing of Ron Dennis personally since a young age and Seb being part of Red Bull's junior programme, you could argue that their rookie seasons had an advantagous beginning. However, not everyone debuting in top teams have immediately flourished. For example, Alex Albon and Pierre Gasly had unfortunate rookie seasons at Red Bull (both began at Toro Rosso but were promoted to Red Bull not long after) proving that best car doesn't always guarantee success.
Tumblr media
No amount of nice scenery can save this tin can on wheels.
In contrast, some newbies have been able to take advantage of the lot they have been given in life and make the most out of a terrible car. Charles Leclerc consistently got his Alfa Romeo into the points in 2018. This year's AlphaTauri has so far proved to be a disaster, and Nyck de Vries was ultimately unable to make such miracles in a shitbox as others have in the past. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda has scored the team their solitary 2 points, but I suppose a few points are better than none at all.
Does the car or the driver lead to a successful rookie season? The former definitely helps, but the latter seems to make the difference in a lot of cases. Lewis' debut car was fast, but his skill has gotten him to where he is today. Seb's debut car was awful, but his talent ensured his notoriety in the sport. Something to think about!
Either way, it doesn't matter much in the end. Formula One is a sport driven by money and if you aren't performing that becomes a problem for the team. Should Nyck have been given more of a chance, especially with half the season still to go to prove himself? Absolutely. Am I surprised how it ended? Not entirely.
While I can be glad to see the remaining 2023 rookies seemingly thriving in their first F1 teams, I can't help but pity whatever poor sod makes their debut at Red Bull next.

13th December - ‘My yoke is easy and my burden light’, Reflection on the readings for Wednesday, Second Week of Advent (Mt 11:28-30)
Wednesday, Second Week of Advent

Report 3: Blood Drive | 12/8-12/11
If you want photos from the blood drives check out the NHS Student Council Facebook page.
Nekoosa High School is very active in the community and one of the things Nekoosa High School does is hold a blood drive every year. The blood drive at Nekoosa High School has been going on since 2019 and has completed 9 blood drives in total. From the 9 drives, 367 pints of blood have been collected averaging about 37 pints per blood drive. This event is run by the student council every year.
This year it happened on the 1st of November. The blood drive was able to get 50 people to donate with 8 adults from the staff, 14 from the community, and 28 students. The requirements for the blood drive were fairly simple, for whole blood you had to be above the age of 16, weigh above 110 lbs, and just be in good health and feeling well. For Power Red which is when a special machine is used to safely donate 2 units of red blood cells during one donation while returning your plasma and platelets to you, adult females having to be 5’5” and over 150 lbs and adult males having to be 5' 1” and over 130 lbs. With 42% of donors coming in for the first time, there was also a $10 E-gift card being given out to students who donated, and an additional gift card was given out to 4 random students by Student Co. We were able to have a conversation with Alexa Boerboom, a student council member who runs the blood drive; Here's the information we got from that conversation.
People do have concerns about the drive and they vary from person to person. Fear of needles is extremely common but if you’re willing to spend a few minutes facing your fears you may find the satisfaction and accomplishment that makes it worth it. Roughly 38% of Americans are able to donate so there's a pretty good chance you’d able to! Another concern is whether it is safe to donate and yes it is completely safe to donate as you won’t get any sort of infectious disease like AIDS because the workers from the Red Cross always use sterile, one-use needles. You’ll even get a mini-physical to make sure you are healthy and able to donate that day. Most donors feel fine after donating but if you’re feeling lightheaded there are stations where you can lie down until you’re feeling better. All blood is welcome, regardless of your blood type.
Registration and the actual donation process can go by very quickly if you have everything you need. First, you’ll be checked in, go over basic eligibility, and check some sort of ID. Then you’ll be interviewed, confidentially, about your health and places you've traveled. The Red Cross will also check your temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and hemoglobin levels. The actual donation process starts with someone cleansing your arm and putting a sterile needle in (the feeling is equivalent to pinching your arm for about 3 seconds). When approximately a pint of blood is collected, Red Cross staff will take the needle out, put a bandage on your arm and you’ll move to recovery. Staff and student council will also come around to tell jokes and chat during the donation! Once completed, you’ll be able to get juice and snacks like Cheez-Its, pretzels, etc.
After the donation your blood gets separated into units, then your blood will be tested for diseases, if they find anything it’ll be discarded and you’ll be notified immediately, the next step would be the distribution phase where your blood is sent to hospitals and clinics and finally, the transfusion phase were your blood is used to help people due to severe injury, childbirth, anemia, cancer treatment, blood disorders, and many others! The next blood drive will be in the top gym next to the second entrance to the school at 1-6pm on March 13th.

The Eclipse Dungeon (Part II)
This part of the dungeon covers the western most labyrinth on the map, its traps, tricks, lore, and puzzles. So if you have not read Part 1 go to my page and it'll be right there! With that being said, you might want some help finding the rules for 13th Age. Well, while it isn't expansive the 13th Age SRD page has enough to help you make some fun characters for this one shot dungeon.
Tumblr media

The King's Labyrinth
The party should emerge from the previous maze to find a gate leading South-West has opened. This leads into a labyrinth, its pathways extend onwards for some distance. Your adventurers should come to a fork in their road. As you can see on the map below, that right path leads towards a purple heart. If players head down this route first they'll see a suit of golden armour stood against a wall, similar to the warriors in the tapestries from the first puzzle. On a normal (11+) Wisdom check, adding whichever background skills might be applicable, they will notice its not held up in any perceivable way. Given the construction of armour, without a person inside they usually fall down. On a 16+ players will also note it's actually gilded bronze splint over brass mail. If characters wish to discern a tactical advantage it requires a normal (11+) Intelligence check, plus applicable backgrounds. On a success they realise the gilding of this armour grounds an enemy giving resistance to Lightning damage. However, the brass would intensify vibrations giving a wearer vulnerability to Thunder (Sonic) damage. Until triggered this armour will not move and cannot be damaged.
Tumblr media
Players may become perplexed by this armour, so it could can be a good idea to remind them there was another path. Taking it leads to a choice, at the end of the left corridor is a closed door while the right eventually rounds a corner. Location 5, is a small room containing a pedestal. On this pedestal is another key item, an ordinary steel blade. Importantly it lacks a hilt and is just the blade of a weapon (unsharpened). In Location 6 is a similar pedestal which holds the top half of the staff from the tapestry in Location 4.5 (See Part 1 for details). Importantly, whenever one door (marked by a red line cutting it off from the corridor beyond) is opened, the other immediately locks. Additionally, this is when the suit of armour becomes animated. If the part is forced to travel North-West away from Location 5 (assuming it is the first one opened), check everyone's backgrounds. If a character has a background applicable to their environmental awareness such as Scout, Miner, Gossipy, or Anxious ask the to roll a hard (16+) Wisdom check. On a success, they hear small scrapes and clangs as the metal armour approaches them. Which leads us nicely onto the stats used for this monster!

Animated Armour!
To be clear on the stats I'm using, they're available at the SRD webpage I linked above! This is a small break from the monotamy of puzzle solving both for you and your players. If they're having fun, and don't seem eager for a challenge there are guidelines for strengthening and weakening enemies in a subtle manner for your players. Hopefully though, they've already examined it and found its weakness to Thunder damage. This is a Monster Level 1, although unlike other creatures it doesn't possess a fear threshold (so new time GMs can ignore that for now). It also, as stated has resistance 8 to Lightning Damage and standard Vulnerability to Thunder. This means if a player attacks with Lightning damage they need to roll an 8 or higher on the die to deal damage. However, when attacking with Thunder damage on an 18 or higher their attack is considered a Crit.
Tumblr media
-Image from the 13th Age SRD webpage.
Descriptions of Resistance, Vulnerability as well as other Combat mechanics can be found on the link above. For now however, let's describe the final puzzle!
Puzzle 2
The central chamber of this section (which is why I call it a labyrinth rather than maze, their distinction is worth a google), contains the puzzle for these players to advance. On the largest wall is a mural painting which depicts four points in the Human King's life. Left to right, players see:
A younger version of the Human King being knighted by his father;
This Human Prince defending a wounded comrade in battle;
The King wears his father's crown and stands beneath the sun;
Finally, he gives that staff to the Elf Queen and receives her sword.
Each scene has an indentation. The first for a missing sword blade which he was knighted with. The second is occupied by the golden blade. The third for a staff held in front of his chest which is also missing. Then the final one is occupied by a wood and gold staff with no disk of onyx in the loop at its head. Their correct order is gold blade, steel blade, wood and gold staff with no onyx, then silver and gold staff with onyx. Characters should be able to observe the rounded tip of the golden blade doesn't fill its indentation in the second image. Additionally, they will notice the wood and gold staff has room for the onyx disk to go. Visa versa, the steel sword does not fit into the first scene and the staff with an onyx disk does not fit the third. Once these are swapped it will open up another gate, allowing this party to handle the third puzzle of this dungeon.

Also yes, this puzzle is a loving homage to this puzzle from the remake, which I thought was fun.

DAR SCHOOL STUDENT FROM 1942-46 RECALLS EXPERIENCES (Eighth Installment of Pauline Kelley Cannon's memoir) - Our first year in scouts we went camping at Camp Jocassee. We stayed in rustic cabins, and at night we could hear the scary sounds of bobcats and panthers or cougars hollering. . .During the day we had a pool to swim in, and we also played games such as horseshoes, jump rope, hopscotch, and others we would make up. We would also go hiking and look for wildflowers. . .At night we would build a campfire. Sometimes we would roast wieners and marshmallows, but mostly we ate sandwiches and pork and beans. We would pour water on the campfire to put it out before we went to bed. . .The camp is now covered by Lake Jocassee. . .The boys' cottage at the school was called the Illinois Cottage, and it was the farthest away from the main campus. Mrs. Rogers was the house parent for the boys. . ."Ma Rogers," as the boys called her, was a little on the hefty side, or in other words, a bit overweight. After we finished our evening meal we could go back to our dormitories. The boys would follow Mrs. Rogers back to Illinois Cottage, and some smart aleck would use his hands to make the shape of a woman and then say, "Oh, what a shape!", and if Ma Rogers turned to look he would drop his hands and say, " . . . this world is in." But I think she knew they were having fun at her expense. . .At times the DAR ladies would visit the school. We called them our "DAR mothers," and they called us their children.--TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEK
