Liberty's Kids - BGC

Liberty's Kids portrays the American Revolution from the Boston Tea Party of 1773 to the Constitutional Convention of 1787 following the adventures of Sarah, a Loyalist newly arrived from England, James, a newspaper apprentice supporting the Patriot cause, and Henri, a French orphan who is attracted to trouble. With its thoughtful handling of complex issues, star-studded cast of voice actors, and absolute bop of a theme song, it remains one of the few shows from my childhood that I still enjoy today.

The outfits worn by the three main characters had been on my mind for a while, but an anon ask gave me the push to finally make them. Because they are based on a cartoon, they are not 100% accurate for the time period. Each outfit comes in a child and T-E version. They are in the (retired) Colonial Williamsburg palette in addition to the canon swatches.

High res photo alert! I just want to hug whoever takes these photos at the Museum of New Zealand, because OMG. The detail!

I think I'm in my red/pink/blush gown era, because this is another one that I just had to share.

This robe à l'anglaise retroussée dates from the 1770s-1780s, and is English. It's made of silk damask, one of my favorites, in this gorgeous burgundy and cream silk floral pattern. Unlike the French sack back gowns of this time, this one laces up tight on the other side, hence it's à l'anglaise.

Retroussée refers to the skirt length, which would have been pulled up.

This silhouette made a big comeback in the 1840s and the 1880s. And you can see why! It's pretty classic.

CHATEAU ROLLS ROYCE

The castle domain was created in the late 18th century. The wealthy notary A.S. started construction of the castle in 1780, originally consisting of a classicist main building, which was symmetrically flanked at the front by two lower, 19th-century side wings and several outbuildings, including a beautiful and almost unique winter garden.

After the death of the notary, the property passed into the hands of his only son, who gave it significant added value by creating an English landscape garden. The surrounding park includes a pond with island and historic duck decoy, beautiful old woodland and a former ice house. When the son also died, the castle remained empty for a while. In 1831, the castle briefly served as the command post of Leopold I, first king of Belgium.

In 1859 the whole was sold to a baron, who used it as a summer residence. In 1909, a wealthy Antwerp banker buys the castle. He builds the two towers that flank the castle. The castle remained in the hands of this family until the mid-1950s. Today, the castle and park are owned by the Luxembourg real estate company, which wants to start a hotel there in the future.

In the urbex scene, this chateau was known as 'Chateau Rolls Royce', for many years, because of the beautiful blue Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. Rolls Royce built the Silver Shadow between 1965 and 1979. At the time, it was the most expensive and luxurious model introduced by Rolls Royce. This particular car was built in 1975 and was first registered in January 1976, as one of the last variants of the model. The colossus, weighing more than two tons, was more than 5 meters long, 1.80 meters wide and had a cylinder capacity of 6,750 CC. It reached a top speed of 205 km/h without much effort.

Villa Valguarnera (Italian collection VIII)

Hi folks!

I'm sharing Villa Valguarnera, one of the most interesting eighteenth-century villas in Bagheria, both for the architectural quality of the complex and for its position in the Bagheria landscape.

Construction began in 1712 on a project by Tommaso Maria Napoli , architect, Dominican , designer in the same years of the nearby Villa Palagonia , in contact with the Roman environment, which introduced an architectural language of Bernini origin and a clarity of composition close to the most advanced examples of the Italian and European eighteenth century, in particular Austrian.

When the architect died in 1725 , the villa was not yet finished and was then significantly modified. In particular, around 1780 , Giovan Battista Cascione Vaccarini was the author of the new elevations and the oval room on the main floor.

Of great interest are the series of internal halls frescoed by Elia Interguglielmi and the marble statues crowning the attic by Ignazio Marabitti . The building was once surrounded by a vast park, enriched with coffee houses , statues and neoclassical architecture. (source: Wikipedia)

I only built the main building, as the project is placed in a 30x30 lot.

You will find a great room, 2 main bedrooms, 6 sitting rooms, a formal dinning salon, a billiard room and a ground floor to develop.

Ok, So i was tagged by @cowplant-chronicles to do some numbers of the Historical Gameplay Ask Game so... here we go.

3. What is your favorite decade/era to play? To play anything from 1750-1790 and 1900 to 1920's. Both have different settings and rules and we kinda have CC to back up everything easily. Also, Prehistory... with my own VERY HARD rules.

14. Do you play with money cheats or “rags to riches” style? Rags to Riches all the way up, when you have all the money it becomes boring fast, dont matter if you are playing with an upper class family. Besides my modified History Challenge all poor and Rich families came from the ground. And i like it that way.

18. What do you struggle with most in historical gameplay? Not finding that exact mod or piece of CC that you need. Like i dont want them to take out their phones in the middle of 1640 or taking a black plastic umbrella in 1780. That breaks the inmmersion so easily.

Redwood Family Tree

I was asked the other day if there was a family tree with all the characters in the Pride Flag Legacy Challenge. I’ve always had mixes with dates and everything from the beginning, plus family relationships between them. This is why I decided to create the ultimate familair tree and show it with you <3

The Redwood tree comes from the parents of the founder of the challenge: Rosemary Redwood and her husband Cristobal Clermont.

The sons of Cristobal and Rosemary did not adopt the paternal surname because the legacy of the challenge is Redwood.

From here they intertwine with the Cushing, Barrow and Boneville families, spanning approximately 50 years of family history.
