Colour Of Magic - A First Fits Kit Recolour
It's??? Finally done???? Someone pinch me.....ANYWAY buckle up for one hell of a long post lmao. If you don't want to read the whole thing, the TLDR of it all is: every single item from the First Fits Kit, recoloured with a BUNCH of different swatches including solids, mix-and-match patterns, and hand-drawn graphics (inspired by the copious amounts of clothes I buy my nephews) - and it's all base game compatible. Very colourful, very bright, and hopefully, very fun! Hopefully this will make the tragically beige-reality of the actual kit become little more than a bad, bland dream.
All joking aside, this was actually really fun - if not slightly stressful - to do, and I'm actually pretty pleased with it. I love all things colourful and quirky, so was a bit disappointed by the very muted swatches for this kit. I really hope some of you like it! Oh, and it's called Colour of Magic for no reason other than the fact I'm rereading the Discworld novels at the moment asdfghjhgfdsa. ANYWAY details, previews and downloads under the cut!
@maxismatchccworld @emilyccfinds @mmfinds @maxismatch @mmoutfitters

Sorry for the uncreative names for these pieces...i truly have no creativity left in my bones lmao. ANYWAY this was a super indulgent CC project for me but I really hope some of you might like it too - I worked pretty darn hard on it, had a lot of fun (when I wasn't cursing photoshop), and I'm pretty pleased with some of the results!
As always, please let me know if there's any issues at all, and otherwise, I hope you enjoy! There is a merged package file but please be aware that it is beefy.

TTEOTM Easter Eggs Part 3 - Costume and Makeup Details
I love beautiful costumes, but even more when they tell a story! Here are a few of my observations. Did you spot anything else? (Spoilers!)
(1) The two outfits Ye Xiwu gifted Tantai Jin are both quilted. The purple costume is particularly unusual in that it's constructed like a blanket. In contrast, all his clothing in the hostage prince arc are not quite thick enough for Sheng kingdom's harsh winters. Ye Xiwu is literally bringing warmth to his life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(2) TTJ and YXW wear similar costumes in their two love scenes - (1) Ep 2 - YXW's imagination of the drugged affair which led to their marriage and (2) Ep 39, where they finally consummated their marriage on screen. YXW wears the same pink costume. TTJ in different but identical-looking mustard yellow costumes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(3) Some viewers have criticized Ye Xiwu for not taking off hair accessories before going to bed, chalking it up to lazy filmmaking. This is not necessarily the case. In ancient China, upper class women did sleep with their hair-do and manage to keep elaborate designs in tack. How? By resting her neck, not her head, on the pillow.
Tumblr media
Ye Xiwu / Li Susu does go without hair accessories in a few occasions: when she is traveling, ill, depressed, and in mourning. It is most likely a creative choice to create a contrast between moments where her character is in control and powerful vs. vulnerable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(4) All of Tantai Jin's female lieutenants wear red, from Pianran (after she starts working for him) to Siying and Monu. In fact, so does Tantai Minglang's lieutenant Fuyu. Red appears to be the career woman's color in this world!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(5) After Mingye falls in love with Sangjiu, he adds the red waist scarf belt that's part of his wedding dress on top of his normally blue outfit.
Tumblr media
(6) The costume that Cang Jiumin (left) wears when refining the Dragonheart Shield echoes Mingye's costume (right) through the red/blue colors and collar design, reinforcing the connection between the two characters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(7) The costumes in Bo're dream hint at the characters' true forms:
Mingye (dragon): dragonscale armour & patterned clothing
Sangjiu & Sangyou (clams): pearls & shell motifs
Tianhuan (snake): gold serpent hair crown & bracelets
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(8) Throughout the drama, only characters in the Upper Immortal Realm go full Dunhuang Feitian style, characterized by bandeaus, scarves, layers of drapery, sleeveless (similar to Indian clothing).
Tumblr media
The style is used in formal occasions or to confer power or godliness. For example, Sangjiu goes Dunhuang with sleeveless draping outfits at her wedding and after she goes dark.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Similarly, when Susu and Tantai Jin become gods at the finale, they also take on a new Dunhuang-style outfit. In fact, the multi-color drapery of Tantai Jin's outfit seem to be an amalgamation of the fabric used in the twelve gods' outfits.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(9) Members of the Moon Tribe all wear long wavy hair, chunky metal and coin ornaments, and hair braiding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tantai Jin follows the dress code when he stays with the Moon Tribe before entering the spiritual dimension.
Tumblr media
Guess who also loves his wavy hair, metallic accessories, and leather? Of course it's the Ancient Devil God, again reminding viewers of his connection to the tribe.
Tumblr media
Bonus: Luo Yunxi mentioned in an interview that his characters (hostage prince, emperor, Mingye, Devil Gods) all have different hairpieces/wigs. He had to take off and reglue his hair between scenes.

Mini Crochet Vash the Stampede Pattern
Mini crochet Vash the Stampede
This one is the dark palette but it works for any colors
Tumblr media
None of this is done in a round as in you have to slip stitch after each round.
I used DMC thread for all of this, but I could not tell you what specific colors just: pale yellow, red, black (or for dark Vash, a dark purple instead of red). I used a 1.15 mm hook for this whole thing and a quilting needle, which is just a really short sewing needle (an inch or so long).
Mc = magic circle
Sc = single crochet, American terms
Sl st = slip stitch
Head: *I used a pale white thread color for this you can obv use whatever* start with a magic circle || sc 6 in the circle, sl st to first stitch (6) || ch 1, sc 2 in each stitch to increase to 12, sl st (12) || ch 1, sc 1, sc 2 in same stitch, repeat 5 times, sl st (18) || ch 1, sc 2, sc 2 in same stitch, repeat 5 times, sl st (24) || ch 1, sc 24, repeat 3 times for a total of 4 rounds of 24 scs, sl st (24) || ch 1, sc 2 dec 1, repeat 5 times, sl st (18) (you can start to stuff it here, I used less than a cotton ball for the whole thing) || ch 1, sc 1 dec 1, repeat 5 times, sl st (12) || ch 1, dec every stitch, sl st (6) || cut the thread but leave enough so you can sew it to the body *Do NOT pull the hole closed. It’s going to be the neck hole where you attach to the body.
Legs: *in black thread* mc || sc 4 in the circle, sl st (4) (Tip: I would recommend waiting to close the hole until the next step because it makes it easier to see where the stitches are) || ch 1, sc1, sc 2 In same stitch, repeat again, sl st, (6) || ch 1, sc 6, sl st, repeat 2 more times for a total of 5 rows (6) || cut the thread and stuff it || you can also hide the thread ends here if you want I just stuffed them at the bottom when putting in the stuffing. For the second leg just repeat the above steps.
Body: *change to red thread* connect to one of the legs anywhere that feels secure | ch 2 (this just gives some distance between the legs), sl st to the other leg, ch 1, sc 5, sc 2 in one side of the ch 2 from before, sc 5, sc 2 in the other side of the ch 2, sl st (14) ||ch 1, sc 14 (14) || ch 1, dec to 11 it doesn’t really matter where you do it as long as they’re evenly spaced, sl st (11) || ch 1, sc 11, three more times for a total of 4 rows of 11, sl st (11) || ch 1, dec to 9, again, it doesn’t matter where, sl st (9) || ch 1, sc 9, sl st (9) || cut the thread and hide the ends
Arms: *change to black thread* mc || ch 1, sc 4 in the circle, sl st (4) (I recommend not pulling the hole closed yet because it is hard to see) || ch 1, sc 4, three more times for a total of 4 rows of 4, sl st (4) || cut the thread and hide the ends. repeat the steps for the second arm. You don’t have to stuff these because they’re so little :D
Decorations (using red thread):
Arm 1- ch 5, sl st to make it a circle || ch 1, sc 5 for two rows, sl st (5) || cut the thread but leave enough to sew securely to arm.
Arm 2- ch 5, sl st to circle || ch 1, sc 5 for four rows, sl st (5) || cut thread and leave enough to sew to the shoulders.
Chest- ch 12, sl st || ch 1, sc 12, slst (12) || ch 1, sc 2 in same stitch (1st and 2nd stitches), sc 6, sc 2 in same stitch (8th and 9th stitches),  sc 5, sl st (14) (this is to make the shoulders point out a little) || ch 1, sc 2 in same stitch (1st and 2nd stitches), sc 6, sc 2 in same stitch (9th and 10th stitches), sc 6, sl st (16) || ch 1, sc 2 in same stitch (1st and 2nd stitches), sc 7, sc 2 in same stitch (10th and 11th stitches), sc 7, sl st (18) || sew to the main body by stabbing through the waist line, cut thread
Tumblr media
Shoulders- (this one goes in the empty spot between the main body and the chest piece from above) ch 5, turn, sc 2, skip a chain, sl st to last chain, pull through and cut thread (2 ½) || sew into the empty space on the shoulder. You can also attach the arms after finishing this, hopefully I will remember to include a photo to show where to attach them.
Tumblr media
Legs? Train? - ch 9, sc 8, sl st (8) || ch 1, sc 8, sl st (8) || repeat 4 more times for a total of 5 pieces and attach to chest piece, one centered around the front, two on either side of that, and two in the back. If there is extra space in the back, you can make a sixth one and space the pieces more evenly in the back.
I would recommend attaching his head at this point, but we will add hair and the face later
Collar- ch 11, sc 15 (inc every other) (15), sew to the neck of the jacket.
Buttons- (using black thread) sew 2 french knots on the collar (you can hide the thread by either going through the back of his head or through his chest), then maneuver the needle to the jacket and sew either 6 or 4 french knots (depends on how much room you have), three on both sides, and then finally, on the train of his jacket, make 12 french knots with 6 on both sides.
Hair: his hair is a little complicated to explain but I’ll try my best. Using a light yellow and black thread, tie a whole bunch of knots to his head wherever you want his hair line (I was just pulling the thread through until it got close to the end, and then tying a knot and cutting it quite long so make sure you have plenty of thread) You shouldn’t be making it too thick at the front because then his hair won’t lay right. It can be a little thicker at the back of his head because we will have to cut it quite short when we get to that point. I don’t know how many knots I tied or where because it really just depends on the shape of his head. But once you’re finished tying all the knots try to press the hair down and shape it a little before cutting it (remove knots if you have to it happens all the time). When everything looks good then go ahead and start cutting. It may take a while to get the shape as you want it but go slow.
Face: I started with a light blue this time (because with the first Vash I gave him black eyes). It just takes some trial and error to get the eyes right because this also depends on the shape of the head but definitely make sure they’re evenly spaced lol. I think I did 4 sets of lines for each eye to get the size right. After that I used black thread pierced through the back of his head to make… eyelashes, I suppose… and the mouth.

Writing Patterns/First 10 Lines Tag Game
Thanks for the tag @emeraldhazeart!
Tagging: @druidx @inkysqueed, and I'm not sure who all else has 10 fics posted, so: open tag!
Rules: list the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there’s a pattern!
I think I already know what the patterns are going to be, but we'll see. I'm assuming I go backwards. I also assume posted fics doesn't count wips. I'm not sure about snippets either but I included a few of the longer ones that feel kinda like fics to me.
1. Local Rule
Stepping out of the barracks and into the dim morning light, Fairwyn crossed the courtyard where Garrus was already talking to a young redguard.
2. I didn't give it a name here on tumblr, but its file name is Date
Garrus tugged on his red silk cuff. This shirt was way too expensive for him, what was he even doing?
3. Sweet Surprise
Cradling two sweet rolls in one hand Lecrinn held them close as she pushed the heavy door with the other. She opened it just enough to slip out, leaving the chatter and warmth of the busy inn for the street outside. It was also busy and warm but more tolerably so.
4. Heart Warmed
Cheydinhal marketplace swirled with activity from people and snow.
5. I Got You
The world had faded away. Lecrinn and Garrus stood by the road, her head nestled against his shoulder as his leaned down where their foreheads touched, eyes closed, arms around the other.
6. Friday Kiss Tag Game
Sitting along the riverbank, Lecrinn and Garrus laughed.
7. Starlight
She was like a shooting star, Garrus thought as Lecrinn walked down the street towards him, showing up unexpected and catching all of your attention.
8. Stalemate
Warm light flickered across the stone floor as the fireplace crackled, it turning to a blur as Baurus’s eyelids drooped. As his head began to nod he quickly straightened, snapping himself back awake. “All right, Martin,” he walked over to the table covered in a pile of books, “time for bed.”
9. You're My Rest
Willow branches swayed over the lake shore, their shadows dancing across a quilt and the dishes strewn across, left with crumbs, drops, and last bites.
10. Shield You from the Rain
Light rain patted against the dirt road, rippled through puddles, and left drops on the grass. It stirred up the scent of fresh earth and left a chill in the late morning air.
What I thought, I like to start by setting the scene. I always have but I haven't always been good at it. I used to struggle with it so much that I'd end up skipping over it. A lot of times the first paragraph was the last thing I wrote, which actually helped a lot so, can recommend.
My favorite ones here though break from the pattern a bit. Starlight and I Got You start with a quick line that sets up the theme and then sets the scene, I might look for opportunities to do that more often, I like the effect.
The other patterns are that they're all Oblivion fanfiction and they're mostly my ship. And that I don't finish nearly as much as I write, the amount of files I scrolled past to find the posted ones. 😅

DIY Color Wheel Pouf
Tumblr media
Project by Brett Bara:
Add a burst of color to your room with this crafty pouf! At 17” wide and 10” deep, it’s large enough to serve as floor seating or a foot stool. (And if you have pets, I have a feeling they may want to make this their new favorite spot!)
This project is a little challenging to sew, but it’s not too difficult, so if you’re comfortable with the basics of sewing, give it a try. You can make a colorwheel effect with a range of solid colors, or choose a variety of patterned fabrics for a louder patchwork effect. Medium-weight cottons work well for this design (check out quilting shops for great selections of solids and prints).
I love the idea of making a set of these poufs in a range of sizes, for a sculptural stack of cushions that will become a room element in their own right. Or if a pouf isn’t your thing, you can make this in a smaller size for a cute throw pillow for the sofa or bed. Let’s get started! –Brett Bara
Tumblr media
Finished Dimensions: 17” diameter by 10” tall
What You’ll Need
¼ yard each 12 coordinating fabrics (I used quilting cottons)
1 yard muslin
3 pounds fiberfill stuffing
2 large buttons (approximately 1 ½”)
2 flat metal washers, slightly smaller than your buttons
12” upholstery needle (get this where upholstery supplies are sold)
fishing line
sewing thread
hand sewing needle
sewing machine
sharp scissors
iron
1. Print the template
DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE HERE
Download and print the template above. This template will work if sized to any dimension, so you don’t have to worry too much about getting it to print to the exact size specified. (And if you prefer a smaller or larger pouf, just size the template accordingly!)
2. Cut & Arrange the Fabric
Tumblr media
Using the template, cut 2 pieces from each of the 12 fabrics, and 24 pieces of muslin.
Arrange one piece of each of the 12 fabrics in the order you plan to assemble them.
3. Assemble the Wedges
Tumblr media
To stabilize the fabric and discourage stretching, a piece of muslin is sewn behind each piece of colored fabric. To do this, just align a piece of muslin on the wrong side of each piece of fabric, then sew them together as one as you assemble the pouf.
To sew the first two wedges together, make a little fabric sandwich with a piece of muslin, the first wedge right-side up, the next wedge right-side down, and another piece of muslin. Pin all four layers together along one side.
5. Sew the Wedges
Tumblr media
Beginning at the wide end of the wedge shape, sew the layers together using a ¼” seam allowance. Sew a gradual curve along the angle at the base of the wedge (rather than sewing a distinct point). Stop the seam when you reach the point.
Tumblr media
6. Iron
Tumblr media
Iron the seam, pressing the seam allowance to one side.
7. Sew the Remaining Wedges
Tumblr media
Place the piece you’ve just sewn right-side up on your work surface, and align the next color wedge right-side down, then place a piece of muslin on top of it. (Be sure to take a moment and double-check that you’re assembling the pieces in the correct color order; I found it was easy to get mixed-up and accidentally sew the pieces in the wrong order!)
Tumblr media
Continue to assemble the wedges in this order until you’ve assembled six wedges for a half-circle. Then, assemble the other half circle separately. When both half circles are assembled, place them together along the straight edge, and sew them together. (Assembling them in this way ensures that you won’t have a hole in the middle where all the points meet.)
8. Sew the Other Half
Tumblr media
For the other half of the pouf, you must arrange the colors in the opposite direction as you did for the first half. To test if you have the order correct, lay out the pieces in the reverse placement, then place the first half right-side down on top of the pieces to be sewn. If the colors are matched up, you’ve got it right.
Sew the wedges for the second half in the same way you did for the first half.
Tumblr media
9. Join the Two Halves
Tumblr media
Pin the two halves with their right sides facing together, aligning the pieces so that the seams meet.
10. Join the Two Halves
Sew the two pieces together around the perimeter, ¼” from the edge. Leave an 8” opening to stuff the pouf, backstitching at the beginning and end of the seam so that it doesn’t unravel during the stuffing process.
11. Iron the Seam Allowance
Tumblr media
Turn the fabric under ¼” on each side of the opening and press. (Folding and pressing this edge will make it easier to sew the opening closed after the pouf is stuffed.)
12. Stuff the Pouf
Tumblr media
Stuff the pouf, pulling off handfuls of stuffing and adding them in smallish clumps (to avoid a lumpy appearance, it’s best to add the stuffing little by little). Take care to spread the stuffing into the far edges of the pouf so that each nook and cranny is fully stuffed.
When the pouf is nice and firm, sew the opening closed using a hand-sewing needle and matching thread.
14. Make the Tuft
(SAFETY NOTE: Be very careful when working with the long upholstery needle. I nearly poked myself in the eye as I struggled to push the needle through the pouf while leaning over it to observe – yikes – NOT a good method! Always insert the needle AWAY from yourself, not toward yourself!)
In this step, flat metal washers are used to hold the tufting in place in the center of the cushion. The tufting is sewn with fishing line because regular thread is not strong enough to withstand the pressure of the tufting. The buttons, which are decorative only, are added later.
Tumblr media
Thread an approximately 60” piece of fishing line (here I’m using heavy thread since fishing line wouldn’t show in the photos) through the long upholstery needle. Tie both ends of the fishing line onto one of the washers and loop it through the washer twice.
Insert the needle all the way through the center of the pouf, so that the washer lies flat against the center point of one side the pouf. On the other side, loop the thread through another washer.
Tumblr media
Looping through the center and around the edge of the washer, insert the needle back through the pouf and out through the center of the other washer. Pull the fishing line tight while pressing down on the top washer to create the tufted effect. Keeping the tension, insert the needle around the washer and back through the other side. (It’s helpful to have someone else lend a hand at this stage, though it’s not impossible to do yourself!)
Make a few passes with the needle and fishing line, each time looping through and around the washers. Tie off the line on one side, knotting it onto the washer.
15. Add the Buttons
Tumblr media
Cut an approximately 30” piece of matching thread and loop it through the upholstery needle, doubling it. Insert the needle through the pouf, going through the center of the washers. Next, loop it through a button, then back through to the other side of the pouf. Finally, loop it through the other button. Tie the threads in a knot so that the thread is pulled taut and the buttons are nestled against the washers.
Tumblr media
And poof — you’re done!

Writing Patterns
Tagged by @argyleheir - thank you for the tag!
Rules: list the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there's a pattern!
1. "Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?" Laurie slurred out, as he and Ralph walked home from the pub. (The Charioteer)
2. The news that the notorious Barney Snaith was Bernard Redfern, heir to the multi-million Redfern fortune, as well as acclaimed nature writer John Foster, rocked Deerwood for weeks on end. (The Blue Castle)
3. Ralph's fingers pressed on the back of Laurie's neck were deliciously warm, drifting against his skin in slow, steady lines, back and forth and back again. (The Charioteer)
4. As Laurie walked down the stairwell of the vicarage on Christmas morning, he was greeted by the sweet aroma of roasting chestnuts. (The Charioteer)
5. In a few lightning-quick moments, Ralph took in three crucial, alarming facts: Spud Odell was on his ship, he had been badly wounded, and he was going to die. (The Charioteer)
6. Spud's eyes were shining bright with unshed tears. (The Charioteer)
7. The making of the toast was a special ceremony within Stuart's House. (The Charioteer)
8. Overcome with sudden feeling, his thoughts filled with the glorious dream of romance that Ralph's words had inspired, Laurie rose from his seated position on the floor and kissed Ralph tenderly, the present argument momentarily forgotten. (The Charioteer)
9. Laurie woke to the smell of freshly brewed tea and the weight of a warm, heavy eiderdown quilt tucked snugly around his shoulders, blinking drowsily into the bright morning light. (The Charioteer)
10. Ralph soon learned that wearing his silk pyjamas around Spud could be quite a dangerous endeavor. (The Charioteer)
Patterns: vast majority are Ralph/Laurie (no surprise there) and start immediately with a character. All are written in third person, past tense. About half start with sensory descriptions; several were going for cozy/domestic vibes.
Tagging: anyone who sees this and wants to play! :)

Wall Border Set
Placeable wall borders to decorate your boring room walls
This is a five part set:
Wall Borders for Kids
Wall Borders for All Ages
Wall Borders From TS3 Patterns
Wall Borders-Random Patterns
Wall Borders-Butterfly, Teddy Bear, and Bunny
Read more and download below
Wall Borders for Kids
Placeable wall borders to decorate your kids' rooms, extracted from in-game wallpapers
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the original that led to the rest of the set. It was inspired by someone looking for something similar to a set of borders from TS2 and failing to find them.
32 swatches: fish, balls, clouds, hearts, waves, 17 variations of elephant/dinosaur/bunny combo, 9 variations of penguins
Some swatches have been edited to improve their texture, and some are the original texture
See all the swatches and download here: https://curseforge.com/sims4/build-buy/wall-borders-for-kids
Wall Borders for All Ages
Placeable wall borders to decorate your sims' rooms, extracted and recoloured from in-game wallpapers
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the part that came from scrolling through TS4 wallpapers and finding things that would work as borders, but weren't necessarily mostly limited to kids' rooms
13 swatches: 6 variations of leaves, 3 colours of the Slide to Unlock wall, 4 variations of the Pastel Pop wall
See all the swatches and download here: https://curseforge.com/sims4/build-buy/wall-borders-for-all-ages
Wall Borders From TS3 Patterns
Placeable wall borders to decorate your sims' rooms, from patterns from The Sims 3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the part that came from discussing where to get more borders, because TS2 is images were not working at all. It's a mixture of different styes, for all ages
45 swatches: 3 variations of blue floral 4 variations of blue vines 2 kinds of trees 2 kinds of leaves 5 sets of flowers 2 unicorn swatches 2 butterflies 2 cowboys 5 kids space prints 2 blue with stars 2 sports (one a reverse of the other) cars pirate treasure animal portraits owls castles sea monster fish sheep ducks quilted abstract wave purple maze blue stucco
See all the swatches (so many swatches) and download here: https://curseforge.com/sims4/build-buy/wall-borders-from-the-sims-3-patterns
Wall Borders-Random Patterns
Placeable wall borders to decorate your sims' rooms, extracted and edited from random images in the game
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part comes from random things in the game that are not walls. It's a mixture of different styes, for all ages
43 swatches (42 if you get the CurseForge file, see below for an alternate download and what you'll be missing if you choose CurseForge): 3 ducks 3 hens 6 versions each of a cat and a dog with pawprints, including one with a transparent background 3 swimming fish fall flowers poinsettias 2 other flowers 4 variations of leaves with and without flowers with a transparent background 4 variations of leaves with and without flowers with a solid background hearts stars 2 versions of clouds 2 versions of bouncing dots/balls
Some swatches have been edited to improve their texture, some are recoloured, and some are the original texture
See all the swatches (again, so many swatches) and download here: https://curseforge.com/sims4/build-buy/wall-borders-random-patterns
Wall Borders-Butterfly, Teddy Bear, and Bunny
aka the ones I designed
Placeable wall borders to decorate your sims' rooms, created by me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part goes back to the original discussion of TS2 borders. There was one with a teddy bear on it that I wanted to have. The TS2 images that were available were not going to work, so I started with recreating that. Then I decided to do a version with a butterfly. And the bunny was a request--I don't think that one lives up to the original, but it's included
22 swatches: 7 butterflies 7 faded teddy bears 7 bright teddy bears 2 bunnies--to be added to since I have better inspiration now
Tumblr media Tumblr media
See all the swatches (so many swatches) and download here: https://curseforge.com/sims4/build-buy/wall-borders-butterfly-teddy-bear-and-bunny
The Missing Swatch
When I made the random patterns file, I inlcuded this swatch
Tumblr media
CurseForge's interpretation of Maxis's TOU says that I can't use it at all, even in with the rest of the swatches
Tumblr media
If you get the file from CurseForge, that swatch has been removed. If you want that swatch, it's available here: http://www.simfileshare.net/download/4123031/
Only use one version. They are the same file except for the one swatch, and by using both you're just increasing the number of files in your game. Only one will load. I don't know which will win
Alternate download for the whole set (including the missing swatch): http://www.simfileshare.net/download/4123033/

We're the reason we're here
a Book of Nile fic by @sindirimba Nile-centric and Nile POV Explicit 26 chapters, posting weekly on Saturdays
Nile successfully argues for the benefits of apology and, eventually, grants a little mercy to herself, too.
When @sindirimba asked me to beta what was at the time intended to be her Big Bang fic I jumped at the chance screamed and begged to be allowed to beta what I was already sure would be a masterpiece. It's been an overwhelming (affectionate) and life-affirming delight to follow along as she crafted this story, and when she decided to pull out of the Big Bang and start posting it weekly this spring, I knew what I had to do.
Tumblr media
Image description: Nine square images laid out in a 3 by 3 grid, described left to right, top to bottom. Each described in loving detail under the read more:
1. A museum interior, a sculpture display room. In the foreground we see a sculpture of two nude figures in marble. One is seated on a tall plinth, hands at their sides, legs parted slightly, breasts and long hair hanging loose and relaxed. The other figure is kneeling, abs bunched up as they lean in to caress the seated figure's calf and kiss their shin.
2. A green and white checkered picnic blanket spread out in the grass on a very sunny day that makes the grass look yellow as well as green. There's a small picnic basket tipped onto its side, spilling red and green grapes onto the blanket, and a larger basket with a lid flipped up to show baguettes and a bottle of wine inside. A straw fedora hat rests on the closed side of the larger basket.
3. A shot from ground level up to the under-construction spires of a cathedral. The bright blue sky is almost entirely concealed by darkening clouds and cranes tower over the unfinished church. Whether due to incomplete construction or by design, the aesthetic is eerie, the cathedral's brick work textured more like a drip sandcastle or a termites' palace. The building is massive, and as beautiful as it is unsettling.
4. The entryway area of a home. A medium-brown wood credenza is the focal point and atop it are a simple metal and white lamp, two leafy house plants, a small art piece of twisted metal resting atop a book, and an art piece that looks like maybe fossilized tree root.
5. Kiki Layne posing on a big white couch in the bright afternoon sun, looking past the camera, a quiet beach scene stretching out behind her. She's wearing a white black and yellow striped sundress, high-heeled yellow sandals, big gold or yellow hoop earrings, oversized cat-eye sunglasses, and a coordinating striped headband, her hair in a sophisticated updo. From Kiki's instagram.
6. Matthias Schoenaerts looking off to the left (giving the illusion of Booker looking at Nile in the previous image) in a shot taken on the coastline at dusk. His longish hair is windswept and we see him from the chest up wearing only a simple dark t-shirt and a thick but well-trimmed beard. The coastline is more rocks than sand stretching from where he stands to the pink horizon in the distance. From Matthias's instagram.
7. Matthias Schoenaerts looking off into the distance, this time to the right (and again giving the illusion of Booker looking at Nile) in another coastline shot at dusk but seemingly a different beach. The background is indistinct beyond a calm ocean stretching toward the bright yellows and reds of the sun hovering just above the horizon. He's wearing a white tank top and his beard is thick and a little scruffy, his longish hair fanning out from under a straw fedora similar to the one seen in the picnic scene above. From Matthias's instagram.
8. A detail shot of a quilt in greens and blues with yellow and black accents. The patchwork pieces and seam lines form intricate geometric patterns. Many different motifs can be found as you look more closely, including flower petals, diamonds, Jewish stars, ocean waves, and the radiation hazard symbol.
9. Kiki Layne on an industrial-looking balcony overlooking what seems to be a European city, a plaza below her and densely-packed multi-story buildings stretching out into the distance, the sky covered in thick clouds. She's standing on a concrete floor with several puddles of water and there are nautical-looking metal architectural details all around. She's leaning on the balcony railing, face turned from the city view to look at the camera. She's wearing light-wash jeans and a bright multicolored shirt with a busy pattern of Suzie from the Rugrats. The shirt shows an inch or two of her midriff. Her hair is in a protective style gathered up in a large knot above her forehead. From Kiki's instagram.

OK y’all. I need bit of advice. Starting next month, I will have about 2 or 3 months of free time that I want to spend sewing. Problem is though, I can’t decide what to do. I already have the fabric and supplies to do these projects, I just need to decide what to do. So, here are my options:
1.     I need a winter coat. My current one is 20+ years old (I don’t wear it often). Options are:
a.      Quilted denim:
Tumblr media
b.     Late Victorian:
Tumblr media
or both.
2.     A light-weight everyday jacket (though with fewer pockets):
Tumblr media
3.     A dressy jacket:
a.      Schiaparelli inspired:
Tumblr media
b.     Something in brocade:
Tumblr media
c.     A 16th century-style jacket:
Tumblr media
4.     Some pretty blouses:
5.     Experiment with the serger and knits (which don’t like me):
Tumblr media
6.     Slacks that fit:
Tumblr media
7.     Something floaty with the embroidered net lace in my stash:
Tumblr media
8.      Some pretty blouses and tops (apparently I have a thing for ruffles right now):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
9.     A “suit” (all skirts will be slacks and pink really is an option):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
10.  A waistcoat or two:
Tumblr media
12.  A corset (though probably not this era):
Tumblr media
13.   A Chanel-inspired jacket:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note: Anything vintage will not be made to vintage standards. They’ll have the “essence” of the original, but will not be exact duplicates.
Opinions welcome. Please.
PS I have no idea where most of the pics are from. Many of the patterns can be found here.
