for @steddiemicrofic's prompt "pine". This is part 4 of the accidental AU i only write for random challenges now apparently.

Steve was moping. He’s been planning another round of holiday preparations with Eddie, but he ditched him at the last minute, claiming something important has come up. What could be more important than picking up a Christmas tree?

And maybe a cup of hot chocolate while they maybe walk around the stores brainstorming gifts for little shitheads, too.

Okay, yes, he was hoping to turn it into an impromptu date, sue him.

He had this perfect sneaky date day fully formed in his head for a week and now he had to go alone. While he wasn’t angry at Eddie, the bitter feeling wouldn’t leave him. Even the new Wham! couldn’t compare to Eddie's chatter if he was walking alongside him. He would comment on how creepy the nutcrackers on the display were, and how the hot chocolate could use more marshmallows.

He passes dads with measuring tape and kids whipping each other with abandoned twigs. Everyone is looking for the perfect tree in their own way.

Except for him. His perfect way would include Eddie. Or Robin, at least. But he wasn’t ready for her opinions right now.

“Steve!”

Over the Christmas chatter, a familiar voice broke out. He whipped his head around to look for the under-conditioned, beloved mop of hair, but all he could see was a Santa hat. Confused, he looked further, but the person in the hat started waving. With no more prompting needed, he jogged over.

“Eddie!”

The boy’s cocky smile turned into a startled laugh when Steve ran into him and hugged him tightly, lifting him off the ground.

“Did you ditch me to play dress-up?” he asks incredulously after they part, pulling on the white pompom of his hat.

“Yeah, Jeff’s family needed an extra pair of hands at the last minute. I’m sorry for canceling our plans, but…” He perks up immediately, mischief in his eyes, as he pulls Steve deeper into the green maze. “I was told I could pick one tree for myself, but we both know there’s no space in the trailer for this, so I thought, what better way to abuse my newfound power to save a tree for my boy- My- My boy,” he settles on after a moment of stuttering. He squeezes self-consciously on Steve's hand but doesn’t let go.

They stopped at the back of the fenced-off area, in front of a gorgeous pine tree. Its branches are full and even and the perfect height for Steve's living room. He’s not looking at it.

“Your boy?” he asks teasingly.

“You are a boy,” Eddie counters.

“I'd argue that I'm a man, but nobody says ‘manfriend’, do they?”

Eddie is red in the face, and so is Steve, with what he’s about to say.

“So… Boyfriends?”

Their hands are still clasped together, but Eddie smiles down at the ground, kicking stray pebbles.

“Yeah. Do you like it?”

He’s not sure if he’s asking about the tree or the new status of their relationship, but the answer is the same anyway.

“I really do.”

Japanese Tales Fans Vote Their Favorite Tales Games In Recent Survey

Japanese website Net Lab has made another Tales related survey for fans to vote; the topic this time is favorite Tales games. The poll ran from June 27, 2023 to July 4, 2023 and has a total of 10, 344 votes overall.

Before I reveal the results, there are three things I want to let you know:

This is a Japan-only poll because the admins did not want overseas fans to vote due to possible illegal voting.

Fans can vote up to three games.

Please do not be vocal about the games/titles you hate or don’t particularly; if you don’t have anything nice to say, keep it to yourself.

What would be a better time than Halloween season to buy this 1907 Edwardian with 2 life size gryphons out front? Located in Plant City, Florida, it has 5bds, 4ba, $947K.

It's important to note the original features features, though, like the wainscoting, millwork, and pocket door. A band lives in this house, as you can see there's a stage in the sitting room.

Small sitting area.

I like the mirrors going down the hall.

It's also a movie room.

It's set up as a party house with a bar in the 2nd sitting room.

In the dining room stands Beauty & the Beast, which I never thought of until someone pointed it out. (She's no beauty and he looks like Little Lord Fauntleroy on a bender.)

The kitchen is absolutely gigantic.

And, besides all that storage, it has a pantry.

The kitchen is open concept and includes a large family room.

The primary bedroom is spacious.

Very nice modernized bath with a beautiful claw foot tub.

Just an extra room used for no particular purpose.

Upstairs is a den or library. There are several faux fireplaces in the home, so I can't say that they'll convey.

A 2nd bright and renovated bath.

The hall on the uppermost level is brightly colored.

Closet/dressing room takes up a entire room.

One of the other bedrooms. All of the bedrooms are very big.

The garage is being used as a home gym.

Behind the house is a large pergola.

Comes with a hot tub.

Above ground pool.

And, a large yard.

Very nice neighborhood.

Harwin Strong was a man you had been enraptured by for some time. You never seemed to get the man to leave your thoughts for a long time before he returned. Such ideas were distracting and unneeded, for they were so many more important things that needed your attention. You were a Targaryen, a person of power and many look to you for guidance. Yet you seem to only think of Ser Harwin, when he trains, your meetings at the cover of night.

The quiet opening of a door did shift your gaze from outside, as you knew who had entered. There was only one person, this late at night, who dared to not knock on the door before entering. They had done it countless times in the past. Watching the waterdrops hit the glass of the window before slowly sliding down you listen to them cross the room.

Neither of you speaks for a few moments as he comes to sit next to you, simply allowing the sound of the rain hitting the window to encase the room. Not that you minded, rain during the night was something you adored, the soft sound of it having the ability to lull you to sleep.

"I have something for you," Harwin's voice was soft as though he was trying not to disrupt your peace. Though he could never do such a thing for you felt so calm and loved in his presence. Turning to face him you look at him a little confused, you do not remember anything you had done to grant a gift. He smiled softly at your expression, finding it adorable.

"A gift?" you ask, almost unsure if you had heard him right. "Correct, here," from his pocket he pulled out a necklace, it was a beautiful piece of jewellery. The pale chain of the necklace held three different jewels, a sapphire, a ruby and an emerald. It perfectly represented the coat of arms of House Strong, something you were quick to take notice of. Looking up at him with a shocked expression, you did not know what to say. But once more Harwin spoke for you.

"This belonged to my mother. I want you to have it." his words were sincere and kind reaching forward to place the necklace around your neck. Raising your hand to stop him you shook your head "I can not accept such a thing. Keep it," You felt like you could not wear such a special piece of jewellery. But Harwin was stubborn, not about to take no for an answer.

"Yet, I want you to have it. I can not bare the thought of anyone but you wearing it." He says softly, quickly securing the necklace around your neck. You allowed him, for you knew this was not a battle you could win. Looking into his as he leaned back you impulsively lean forward and connect your lips with his. Wordlessly thanking him for the gift.
