I know there's often complaints about the c!Syndicate and how they didn't really do a whole lot, that their existence almost felt pointless because they didn't do anything. Not even regarding how Techno's condition and then his passing severely affected this storyline, I think these complaints sorta misses the point of what the Syndicate became and why people like this group so much.
Like, yes c!Techno initially created it in the aftermath of Doomsday, a way to ensure no governments were being formed or used to hurt or corrupt others. He gathered others who shared the same beliefs. They had even gone to Snowchester to ensure that nothing suspicious was going on. And before his passing, cc!Technoblade had wanted to work on that plot involving Cyberknife, to give the Syndicate story a bit more meat. Which would've been great, yes.
But then you look, and you have all these moments of them just... they're just bonding; if not as a group, at least in sections: the streams of Technoblade and Phil connecting with Ranboo, Techno and Ranboo becoming mentor and mentee, Technoblade's birthday party. And then you hear how the Syndicate really mattered to these characters: how Niki was beginning to heal around those who made her voice feel heard, Ghostboo saying that Phil and Techno did care for and love Ranboo, Technoblade outright stating he had friends now thanks to the Syndicate.
And then there's the last Syndicate stream, which I think also sums this up well. There's no Syndicate meeting, no talks of taking down any governments. It was Philza and Niki making a cake. It was Philza panicking over hearing voices, and Niki being a physical presence for him when he seemed to be lacking one at the time. It was Kristin finding the members of the Syndicate and taking them someplace safe. The Syndicate made it to the End, alive and not necessarily okay now, but someday.
And it's just... yes, I would've loved to see more concrete stories of the Syndicate combating corrupted governments and tyrants. But just because they didn't serve their initial purpose as much as we anticipated, does not mean that this group coming together was pointless. If anything their story is a solid example of fighting against a constant narrative in the server; the cycle of power and revenge.
Cause I think about Las Nevadas. People who banded together who, for the most part, did not make deep connections or find comradery. Or even if they did, things fell apart (only Foolish really stayed with Quackity by the end of the Las Nevadas lore). All because Quackity lost himself in his quest for, well, power and revenge. Las Nevadas could've been more than Quackity's need for control and power, but it was never able to reach that point.
Then you look at the Syndicate. Where from the start of the Syndicate's creation, Techno made sure everyone in the Syndicate was equal, that no one was in control of another. Where they never sought violence, wanting to only resort to drastic actions if they believed a location was a threat to others. Where they celebrated Technoblade's birthday and took pictures and had cake and were just friends. I just think there's something a bit profound, intentional or otherwise, in how the Syndicate may have tragically been underutilized, but the group wasn't just an anarchist group. It was a group of people hurt by a nation coming together and not actively seeking any goal toward gaining power or control over others. Yes, they wanted to fight against power. But they also wanted to just... be.
Just something I think about when of the few who managed to survive the Dream SMP, the ones who managed to escape with their lives were the ones who formed this anarchist group, a group that people say didn't do much, and... yeah, they're right, but isn't that a good thing?

Sorry but I can’t resist some nerdery about the names Technoblade and Cyberknife:
Techno and cyber both come from ancient Greek
Blade and knife both come from Old English
Which means that both Technoblade and Cyberknife are a combination of a Greek loanword and a native English word. That alone is already just extremely satisfying to me. (1)
To get a bit more specific, though, let’s first compare the native English words here:
Blade
is obviously a word that you would primarily associate with an edged weapon because the sharp bit of the weapon is called a blade and by extension, blade can also mean “sword“.
Swords, of course, are associated with warriors and knights and so on.
But lots of things have blades. A hoe has a blade, the propellers of an airplane have blades, etc. (2)
Knife
is a much less versatile word; aside from metaphorical meanings, I’m pretty sure it basically only means a fairly specific type of object.
Knives can be used in many ways, though, it can be a tool or a weapon, and in fact they’re more often used as tools than weapons.
Knives were definitely used by knights but who they’re associated with is more like assassins, murderers, muggers, backstabbers.
So IMO, while these are very closely associated words, the connotations are very different:
Blade makes me think of a warrior; knife, a murderer. I guess both kill people but in very different contexts. Knives are obviously not the ideal weapon for battle, they’re much more suited for situations where you need to conceal your weapon and/or want to stab someone who’s unarmed or not expecting an attack.
Of course it’s just a name, but it does make Cyberknife sound like a guy who’s probably not really a fighter, but who might still be very willing to do some stabbing, as long as his victims can’t fight back. It would fit a sort of aristocratic type of character, if that’s what Techno was going for. Assassinations are a proud courtly tradition.
As for the Greek parts of the names, though...
I guess you could say that techno- is a more general term and could refer to older technology as well as new, while cyber- has very futuristic or hypermodern associations, which does fit with Cyberknife being supposedly a young guy while c!Technoblade is at least implied to be old...
... But here’s the thing, obviously techno and cyber didn’t have the same meanings or the same connotations in like ancient Greece, right, so what did they actually mean originally?
From Etymonline:
techno-
word-forming element meaning "art, craft, skill," later "technical, technology," from Latinized form of Greek tekhno-, combining form of tekhnē "art, skill, craft in work; method, system, an art, a system or method of making or doing," (...) (3)
cyber-
word-forming element, ultimately from cybernetics (q.v.). (...)
cybernetics (n.)
"theory or study of communication and control," coined 1948 by U.S. mathematician Norbert Wiener (1894-1964), with -ics + Latinized form of Greek kybernetes "steersman" (metaphorically "guide, governor"), from kybernan "to steer or pilot a ship, direct as a pilot," figuratively "to guide, govern," which is of uncertain origin. (...) (4)
So... excuse this simplification, but... you could say that Techno could be translated as “skill“ while Cyber could be translated as “governing“.
This is literally just the fucking argument about power through skill versus power through authority.
You know, the whole discourse about c!Techno being a “tyrant” because he’s too good at fighting?
To be clear, I don’t think this was intentional, AT ALL. But it’s kind of funny. Like literally, the Evil Technoblade is Technoblade if instead of having skills he had authority.
That’s how I’m gonna interpret it anyway lmao
1: Fun fact: cc!Techno was not only a bit of a Greek mythology nerd but apparently also had some Greek ancestry (namely his grandmother). And of course his real name Alexander is also a classic Greek name.
2: Another fun fact: in Old English the word blade (more accurately blæd) actually used to mean “leaf“. People just started using it to describe vaguely leaf-shaped things, such as the sharp bits of knives and swords. Also in Proto-Indo-European it seems to have meant “to thrive, bloom”:
blade (n.)
Old English blæd "a leaf," also "a leaf-like part" (of a spade, oar, etc.), from Proto-Germanic *bladaz (source also of Old Frisian bled "leaf," German Blatt, Old Saxon, Danish, Dutch blad, Old Norse blað), from PIE *bhle-to-, suffixed form (past participle) of root *bhel- (3) "to thrive, bloom."
Extended in Middle English to the broad, flattened bone of the shoulder (c. 1300) and the cutting part of knives and swords (early 14c.).
I feel like this is less relevant but I find it interesting anyway.
Knife pretty much just means “knife”, there’s no known earlier etymology beyond Proto-Germanic where it also just means “knife”.
3: The fact that the word techno means both “skill“ and “craft“ amuses me, it’s like his name itself means “cracked at the ‘Craft“.
4: I know I kinda focus more on the “control“ and “governor“ connotations in this post, because it feels fitting for this character who seems to have been intended as an authoritarian villain, presumably anyway. (Of course we don’t actually know about the villain part, maybe there was gonna be a wild plot twist.) But of course the base meaning seems to be a much more neutral one: piloting a ship, So you could very easily also interpret it that way. Or take the metaphorical meaning “guide“, which of course has some very positive connotations.
ETA: Yes, the name CyberKnife comes from a radiotherapy device and yes that's probably where Techno got it from and that's the joke. My point wasn't trying to analyse why Techno chose this name because it's pretty obvious it was because it's funny and that's it. That's why I said I didn't think any of this was intentional.
My point is that the etymologies and connotations that I talked about here seem weirdly appropriate and that's fun. Well it's fun to me anyway. Doesn't matter if they're a complete coincidence, which I'm sure they are.

More DSMP Techno thoughts.
Technoblade is literally one of the most generous people on the server. Like, in fic, Niki is always the one most characterized as generous (which is still accurate), but Technoblade is GENUINELY the most generous. From Netherite Armor, to helping Connor even though he had no reason to. To going to see Dream, even knowing it was a trap because he needed to make sure he wasn't dead. His whole rational behind his Anarchism is that People over Government. Helping others until they can stand on their own. Literally the most generous on the server.
Techno's generosity is such an endearing trait of his not to mention very important in analysing him as a character since it actually ties into a lot of other aspects about him I really adore.
Firstly, there's his planning and how he never wants to be caught off guard (sometimes to the point of paranoia). Technoblade is a great fighter and some of that is his impressive raw skill - as demonstrated when fighting Quackity in the tunnel post failed execution with low gear - but he's also an amazing tactician and strategist and he knows coming prepared is half the battle (as Sun Tzu's teachings also invoke). cc!Techno found this important enough to highlight when he went over dsmp lore, how he hated it when people boiled down c!Techno to being a good fighter because he's just 'that cracked' and not because he spends so much time and effort on preparation. Techno gives very freely to his allies during Pogtopia and to those he considers on his side, because it's the smart thing to do. Being generous there is simply clever battle tactics.
Then later on we see his generosity become extremely relevant as Techno digs more into the theoretics of anarchism and how to effectively spread it on the server (cc!Techno did the research and by extension c!Techno shows the growth and changing perspective). Mutual aid is one of the main pillars of most anarchistic beliefs, with the idea that goods should be shared among people so everybody can be self-sufficient and there's no dependency on government. This also means no hoarding of resources and giving without expecting anything in return. We see this come to fruition in the Arctic commune and among the syndicate too, where people definitely own things but there's little care for going into other people's chests and taking stuff when needed. Sometimes even without asking (though often with asking because it's the polite thing to do). Techno does not seem to view his own actions as generosity but rather as self-evident.
Lastly, there's of course the fact that Gift Giving very much seems to be Techno's main love language. He clearly values gifts he gets from others, including those that have no practicality or 'worth' (ie the blue from Ghostbur he refuses to throw away). Getting the ax from Ranboo was one of the more significant shows of care and consideration anybody on the dsmp had ever given Techno and he was clearly touched by it, plus it's a turning point in their relationship. And he's prone to giving his loved ones gifts too. Tying in with the first point and with the fact that Techno is very protective of his friends, a lot of his gifts do serve a very practical use of being the kind of things that will keep them safe (armor, weapons, supplies,...). I think that's very telling for who Techno is as a person.
A last thing I want to touch on is that Techno's generosity is nicely contrasted with his disdain for people taking advantage of him (falls in the category of betrayal and 'using him' that Techno is particularly wary of). When Tommy took his gapples without asking repeatedly even while Techno told him to stop, Techno was clearly very annoyed. It was not the taking itself that bothered him as much, but the fact that Tommy refused to respect a clear boundary.
Funnily enough, he also got annoyed that one time somebody yoinked his foxes, though he was not annoyed somebody took them or even that they took them without asking.... he was annoyed because the person that took his foxes took the ones he could use to breed more. He even remarked that if they had yoinked a baby and an adult - leaving Techno with two breedable adults himself - he would not have cared. He specifically got upset because they took the foxes from him in a way that created a scarcity of resources. This is also very mutual aid/anarchy aligned and that amuses me.

Dreblr Survey Results Pt.3 - Confessions.
So. The time has come. There was a section at the end of the survey where it simply said to "say something unhinged," and you really did! Here are some of the most entertaining ones.
Again, I'm pasting these directly from the form. If anyone thinks I wrote this stuff myself I think I'll go and sit under the sea for several hours.
⚠️ A lot of these are NSFW. I'm serious, please be responsible :)
Tumblr media
People being really really funny
something unhinged
Something unhinged
Ur mom is unhinged
penis
Calls for violence against everyone who has ever wronged Dream
I want to blend (with a blender) c!q and c!sam and throw the substance to the wolves
Quackity should have died
I think Tommy should have stayed dead
Dream should have actually tortured tommy
Exile was hilarious. :)
Calls for… forgiveness?
they should've made up with c q in the finale streams
I forgive Q. We don't know what really happened behind the scenes.
Sam, both c! and cc!
Sam is Daddy and I know for a fact he reads AO3 fics that man is NOT normal
cc!sam closeted c!awesamdream shipper
I don't think anything I say can top Sam having a scrapbook of sexy criminals
you know how sam has a bunch of clones of himself to inhabit. alright now imagine him doing that with dream. this is how the awesamdream baby can still win.
c!Sam and c!Dream are fundamentally very different characters with very different wordviews but one of the few things they have in common is praise kink.
I don't think this counts as shipping but that's what I'm calling it
c!dnf gay sex post prison arc happy ending (REAL) (I SAW IT ON THE SCRIPT DOCUMENTS IN DREAM'S COMPUTER)
um um c!dnf in gay love idk they are the only ones for each other sorry
DNF kiss real
CDNF IS OVERHYPEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I SAID IT AND I MEANT IT
If c!dreamnotnap had slept together i think dream would have stayed sane
i think s apnap fucks d ream with his small dick and they both love it and love each amen 🙏
i want to get c!sapnap pregnant
The most superior ship is Dream/Technoblade/Punz/DreamXD/Foolish/Kristin/Philza Because in this household we love big polycules
i think dream should've done more crime and fucked awesamdude
Dream and Sam fucked in that prison
C!DREAM IS A TRANS WOMAN AND AWESAMDREAM FUCKED NASTY IN THAT PRISON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dreblr's overwhelming preoccupation with c!Awesamdream is getting kinda worrying ngl
dream and quackity are what I seek in a relationship
c dreamity is my otp i love those unhinged bastards kissing eachother
Dreambur needs more love and I’m tired of it being pushed aside
is it even unhinged to assume that Dream fucked Fundy, Fundy's dad (Wilbur) and Fundy's Grandpa (Phil) I feel like that's just a regular sentimet on dreblr by now
dreamza prevails
Dnb best ship
Doomsday trio deserves to fuck nasty imho
He fucked that old man
c!Dream needs to get dicked down I think that would solve a lot of problems post nut clarity if you will
NSFW so don't feel like you need to put this in any compilation i completely understand BUT whenever the c!sam cuck chair crosses my dash, in my head it's traditional dynamic omegaverse c!dnb. c!sam's an alpha who wanted to show off to omega c!dream before claiming and mating with him for their mutual first time. he decides to do this by challenging alpha c!techno to a fight, but to his shock, lost. badly. he has to watch alpha c!techno mate with and claim c!dream right in front of him, because watching such a clearly superior alpha demonstrate his abilities causes c!dream to go into heat and c!techno is happy to help him with that. he's been looking for a mate anyway and c!dream just so happens to be his type. meanwhile, c!dream wants to give c!techno as many litters as his body can handle and barely remembers who that other guy in the room even is, even after his heat calms down.
Dream harems? I guess?
c!Dream has/should have a harem
Dream is a pretty boy and should have taken off his mask to start a harem to prevent war.
Things that I really don't think are that unhinged around here, given their competition
i was such a crazy c!dream apologist in 2021 i actually had a dream about it
I have a spreadsheet with every tag, character and relationship tag for every dsmp fanfciton I read and liked/found interesting.
I know people will say it is/was kinda cringy but I will never think that or regret being part of the fandom (that's not really unhinged I couldn't think of anything sorry lol)
I know its delulu beyond belief and i will never say this not anonymously but sometimes i fantasize about if i was able to be friends with dream team
Wilbur wasn't a hero or "good guy" at any point in his storyline.
Doomsday was 100% justified. (...is that unhinged enough or do I need to pick something else?)
People being too polite for this question
Sorry I am not THAT unhinged
no, but i thank you for the opportunity! I am sadly to hinged, normal even
And more!
George is the main character and we got robbed by not having him meet c!Dream again!! but in meta it is because they are together in real life and who needs their depression character anymore in that senario.
c!DTeam reconciliation arc was always intended
c!drunz are necrophiliacs.
Okay. Okay here me out here OK. So. Imagine Norman (bald guy) is c!schlatt and Pat (white haired dude) is c!Phil OK yw ENJOYYYYYYY : https://youtu.be/b7Bj1dBMYBE?si=Cz79CEISAg6EcMYS
Techno's age of 3 is actually canon and New L'Manberg comitted infanticed
C!Tubbo is the best faction leader. The bar isn't high but I think Technically he did well
c!foolish rights unlimited forever. he deserved blood sacrifices
Cc Sam and Dram were the most normal about the prison
I think quackity should have gotten to do more on screen cannibalism
If c!Quackity had taken hormones to balance his insane lust (Wilbur, Technoblade, Schlatt, etc) he would never have gone crazy send post
I think a Daedalus arc with Quackity instead would've been such a downhill for Dream's sanity. Send tweet.
in a server where we have a c!dream made of oreo cream au . quackity eats him in prison . there is fanart .
Please sir please sir please no more
✨️truama ✨️
all of dreblr contains more competency in media literacy than the rest of tumblr combined
i love how these characters hate each other, keep hurting each other, but tied to each other in a way they just can't shake off.
the only way for c!Dream to be properly Redeemed is to live out the worst thing he subjected another person to: *cue his tropical island paradise getaway arc, sunbathing on the beach with no one to bother him except for friends occasionally visiting* #trust
c!Dream was building an underwater stone temple to satan in order to pray for the apocalypse change my mind
C!Dream is very anthy himemiya coded
c!dream is a cow hybrid and has 4 beautiful tits
I feel like the only cc!dream enjoyer who's also a c!tommy enjoyer
C!dream eggs Monday is the flag of dreblr 🥚
Reminder that C!Dream is a stripper
Dream spoonfeeding post
i think dream should've been worse. as a treat. let him murder more minors please.
Prison feels like cc!Dream’s little whump arc. Also, prisontrio favorite grouping. The best angst and whump in town.
Whenever I write whump fanfics it feels like I’m sticking my blorbos in an empty pickle jar and shaking it like a kid holding a snowglobe for the first time
Todo es un invento del gobierno
Today's culinary special is teeth cake
i think we should all collectively gaslight people/edit the wiki to try and convince people omegaverse was canon to the DSMP. or make a fake second wiki.
*grabs you by the shoulders* ok so after wilbur died and fundy was alone and grieving he kept getting picked on for being an orphan by the rest of the server, for example puffy built an obsidian box around his house in new lmanburg and labelled it an orphanage. fundy was already dealing with the loss of his dad + the appearance of a ghost that was supposed to be his dad but didn't remember half of his life, and now he had to deal with this too. so he starts to mine it meanwhile jack manifold is trying to cheer him up, not helped by the fact that ghostbur keeps hanging around despite fundy not wanting him there. Jack tries to get fundy to look on the bright side, he says that the obsidian box around his house could function as protection from tnt, and so, to prove that's bullshit, fundy places a tnt beside the house he spent so long building and blows up a portion of it. Destroys his own work, a part of his home just to prove a point. It's a self destructive act of defiance. Ghostbur and jack both agree that was unnecessary and jack maintains it could protect the house from outside attacks. fundy continues to take the wall down. Ghostbur fixes the hole in fundy's house, but leaves evidence of the explosion. He puts a sight down saying "-CAUTION- Fallen debris". Now, I need you to know how insane I am over the fact that after doomsday, after the entirety of new Lmanburg was decimated, that sign was the only part of fundy's home that remained unbroken. A sign, surrounded by the rubble of a fallen nation, destruction as far as the eye can see, warning of fallen debris. A sign for a self destructive act of defiance. I am going to eat drywall about this
Okay, one more. People I'm hugging
i miss technoblade
I really want to be a part of dreblr but I feel like they're all cool kids and I'm the quiet weirdo kid hiding in the corner. It feels like if you weren't there for the Founding of the Great Dreblr, there's no way in now. Kinda like you can't get hired as a restaurant janitor as your first job if you haven't already owned the place for 5 years prior
I am in your walls
Thanks everyone for forcing my eyeballs to see this! Reading your responses was certainly an experience I'll be stuck with!

I find it strange that a lot of people are coming forward and saying that the staged finale was a bad play for one reason or another but it really isn’t and I don’t understand where the hate is coming from.
yeah i've seen some of this the last few days--staged finale has always been somewhat "controversial" in the lorehead scene, so a measure of disagreement/discourse about it makes sense. especially bc it was honestly a very big change to what people thought was the story and required people to go back and reevaluate a lot, which. people are naturally resistant at doing
but while obviously i think that some healthy discussion about these things is good, and i feel like i have seen a level of...misunderstanding? about it?? which has gone into the ways that people disagree
staged finale refers to the decision to stage the finale. that's it. staged finale just asserts that based on preexisting foreshadowing and based on the sheer level of suspension of disbelief in order for genuine finale to be real, it made more sense for the finale to be staged than for it to have been genuine. how the finale was planned, when the finale was planned, and to what ends it was planned are all things that you can disagree on w/ other staged finale believers/supporters while still being a staged finale believer/supporter, ykwim? if you believe that c!punz faked his betrayal to c!dream, then congrats! you believe in staged finale. oftentimes i see people say things like "i don't believe in staged finale, i think that c!dream faked the betrayal and all and always had c!punz on his side but i think that the reason behind why he did it is [X]" and it's like. staging the finale is one (1) event, not a comprehensive explanation for everything c!Dream does. that would be more in line with something like the "strategist dream interpretation," which in itself does have different readings as well.
people have listed all of the inconsistencies in the staged finale before, but just to summarize--the guy literally could've dipped when everyone came to "defeat" him, c!tommy leveraging his own life is basically no leverage at all when the mans has the revive book, skeppy cage is a joke, c!dream revealing all of his plans when they were maybe 10% carried out (the entire damn attachment vault was empty of items besides stuff that was literally faked, his own damn stuff, and stuff that he stole recently from c!tommy such as the Axe of Peace and the discs) is ridiculously stupid, why the hell does he have blackmail against c!punz included in a bunker that c!punz clearly had access to???? the list goes on.
(as someone who took awhile to be fully convinced in staged finale, what really tripped me up was the stream punz did the day before: here's a post breaking it down that definitely helped me to see it in a different light.)
as far as foreshadowing goes, just off the top of my head: the original prisoner is a constant question from the day of the prison's creation, being something that's even highlighted on the day of the staged finale itself. c!Dream saying he has "the biggest house on the server" and how it's full of redstone. the entire conversation he has with c!punz, obviously. his holding back on the favor with c!techno, the connection between the revive book and the prison that he establishes the day they begin prison construction.
from a logical perspective, the plan as c!Dream establishes it doesn't make any damn sense. c!dream had opportunities to escape that he didn't take for illogical reasons (if the only reason why he allowed himself to stay in a fucking possible kill chamber was to keep c!tommy from committing suicide, then? what about the revive book? what about the fact that he literally kills c!tommy just a few months later????) -- a level of plot contrivance is expected in the medium, but for a lot of people this was just. Going way too far. Unless he literally lost his whole mind (which, to be fair, was the persona being played) there's just. really no other way to make sense of what was going on there, if it was all genuine.
the other argument is a narrative one--people claim that the story established by a genuine finale is cleaner than the story of the staged one, and honestly. it's like. like that's...a feature, not a flaw? the reason why the genuine finale worked isn't because it was logically believable. dream is Dream Manhunt. he's famously hard to nail down, famously good at escaping sticky situations, famously a man that can outsmart his way out of crazy disadvantageous situations--like. just in terms of minecraft skill, i'd wager that most people would think that dream would've technically been able to pull off an escape even when facing down the collection of enemies that were there. like he had 2 stacks of pearls.
narratively, though, the staged finale has a story that's quite appealing on the surface. the "story" of the events from the spirit speech onwards is one that revolved around the idea of "attachment." c!Dream rejects attachment in favor of control in the spirit speech when he says he refuses to let his love for his dead pet control him anymore, and he focuses on the ability to use the discs to control c!Tommy. the fact that c!Dream's relationships deteriorate at this time seems to support this point, and c!Tommy's strength in his relationships being what saves him and damns c!Dream ties everything off into a neat bow. c!Tommy wins because he has friends and c!Dream loses because he doesn't, moral of the story established, hip-hip-hooray. And so it goes.
but when we look at this more in specifics...? it does start falling apart a bit, doesn't it?
although c!Dream supposedly begins his rampage over his existing emotional connections with the spirit speech, his reputation had been in shambles long before that point. c!Dream-as-villain is first established as part of the greater story in the lmanburg revolution, and that's a title that he never really sheds (this point being emphasized in inconsolable differences and the book c!Wilbur has c!Dream write.) Dethronement happens within a day of Spirit Speech, iirc, and on that day c!Quackity specifically points out that c!Dream has no one on his side but c!Punz. the moments where he is more specifically isolated go back to events such as november 16th, where his alliance with c!Wilbur involved blowing up L'manburg, his deal for the revive book, which involved his publicly betraying Pogtopia, or his opposing Manberg to the literal Manberg cabinet. etc. all of these events in the Manberg/Pogtopia era had c!Dream's loyalties erode to end up as just c!Wilbur and later c!Schlatt for the book, two dead men. (and i say eroded loyalties as if pogtopia really believed dream was on their side, like, ever? like he was never trusted in their ranks, even by c!Tommy, who was definitely the person he worked the closest with outside of c!Wilbur.)
if we look at Dethronement itself, it doesn't actually fit the pattern of "c!Dream cuts off his attachment to people in order to make himself uncontrollable" -- in fact, what it does fit the pattern of is. Staged finale? Faking an end in a relationship with people that he does consider important to him, making a public appearance of betrayal + anger to mask an existing connection, drawing attention to their being enemies to hide the fact that they're actually friends--that's not c!Dream cutting anyone off. That's just the exact same ploy that he uses to make people think that c!Punz betrays him (only c!Sapnap and c!George ended up deciding that Nah We're Gonna Kill You Now. Fuck You It's Coup Time. so that's how that ended up.)
Otherwise there's...the Badlands, who were perfectly happy to agree to joining the coup on the day of dethronement if it got them more power and land. c!Techno, who c!Dream wasn't an ally of until later on with the favor established and then doomsday, and who was someone c!Dream was quite openly wary of + afraid of due to his combat skill. c!Dream was alone literally before exile even happened, his remaining "attachments" of c!George and c!Sapnap turning against him like the day he goes on a whole spiel about ohhoho from today onwards i DONT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT MY ATTACHMENTS !!! I ONLY CARE ABOUT THE DISCS !!! like congrats you don't even have a chance to cut off any attachment at all dingus they all hate you and want you dead already.
further, with c!punz, he literally says that they're more than just employer/employee in the infamous conversation they have about planning a betrayal. if the whole point of the story is "attachment good," then why is it that what takes down c!dream is...his one remaining attachment? if his fatal flaw is that he didn't trust people enough, why is it that he loses because he trusted someone too much? it's not like c!tommy had any attachment to c!punz--c!punz explicitly "has a reason" to betray c!dream because of money. he helps c!tommy because dream "should have paid [him] more." none of that reflects that spirit of "attachment" that people claim was c!dream's downfall.
(not to mention how the people present in the staged finale to take c!dream down included people who literally hated c!tommy's guts. like. what brought them together wasn't the power of friendship, it was the power of we hate this green bastard.)
this isn't to say that c!Dream didn't have some relationships that go up in flames because he starts acting particularly cackling evil villain (with the green festival being the specific moment where he really goes full in with that persona, going from someone that was framing himself as having a Reasonable Complaint to literally the joker as soon as he gets the disc from c!Tubbo. It's purposefully played as a "mask off" moment that is meant to make him look like a crazy fucking villain in front of a large audience--whether or not you think that was a choice that he made in character or not, the way his personality changes as soon as he receives the disc is jarring.) In particular, his relationships with c!Puffy and c!Sam come to mind--c!Puffy burns the house she made him when she decides that he's too evil (but, uh, c!dream really wasn't even there for that and didn't ever have a particularly close relationship with her) and c!Sam is among those whose opinions of c!Dream become drastically more negative around the period of time that spans green festival->doomsday->staged finale. but it's important to note that c!Dream's relationships on the server aren't...great, at the time of spirit speech. They're uh, really fucking bad, actually. dethronement only makes them even worse, and all of this happens pre-exile. c!Dream had significant reason to be paranoid and afraid for his life long before exile happens, which is Quite Significant, Actually, when you consider that that paranoia is literally what goes into his decisions to carry out the staged finale + put himself in the prison (which isn't the case for genuine finale, where he's more motivated by a desire to control the server without being controlled himself.) staged finale does solidify c!dream-as-villain for a lot of people, but it never would've worked if people didn't already see him as a villain in the first place. c!Dream doesn't make people hate him with the staged finale; he uses hatred that he already knows exists to put himself in what he sees as a safer position.
and look we could go into a whole discussion about manberg/pogtopia c!Dream (which i do think is way overdue to be fair considering that that's where the paranoia + isolation that motivates him post-november 16th comes from in the first place) but this post is long enough already and i still have to figure out a better way to articulate my thoughts on the matter. anyway. carrying on:
people still have different feelings on why he carries out staged finale in the first place, but what we do know for sure is that it was meant to protect punz and protect the revive book. by firmly establishing that c!punz and him were on opposite sides, he keeps the revive book safe and both of their lives safe by extension: as long as no one would kill both of them at the same time, they had a means of reviving the other if need be and obviously had the information on how to raise people from the dead secure. which was important to them. and otherwise...c!Dream is paranoid. c!Dream is very, very paranoid, and this paranoia goes back at the very least to when he learns about the revive book. the prison, for all the dependence that it required of him, was tailor made (and the construction process controlled by dream every damn step of the way) to make sure that whoever was in the main cell would be safe from external threats. the security of the prison and the prisoner was the POINT. i've seen some assertions that staged finale implies that he predicted everything that happened after he was put in prison and...no? i'd say that c!dream's behavior indicates him being thrown off by c!sam as early as bad's prison visit, c!sapnap's prison visit for sure. c!Ranboo being banned from visitation pretty damn obviously fucks him up, tbh. he has c!punz explicitly out there to keep an eye out on the server while he's in the prison, where he was meant to remain for a period of time that was supposed to be much shorter than how long he ends up being there. likely because, you know, he was supposed to have a consistent and reliable source of information with the outside world in the form of c!Ranboo, and c!sam wasn't supposed to fall off the fucking rails as soon as the prison started. people have also talked about how having the staged finale be true means that c!dream doesn't lose, which...i mean. gestures at the prison arc? that whole thing is a loss so catastrophic it literally destroys him. he's never the same after the prison happens. the false betrayal of c!punz is deliberately like ironically described to c!sam, who was the REAL betrayal that fucking. ruins him. he loses SO MUCH over the course of the prison, which was something he literally designed to keep himself safe from external threat. as far as losses go, i definitely find that a lot more compelling and a lot less contrived than watching c!dream go "whoop de doo guess i have to die now" when he's like 3 pearls away from making a clean escape in the disc vault, tbh.
at the end of the day, i think having some conversation about staged finale is fun! and it's always good to reexamine what you believe to make sure that it still holds water. but i've really not seen much staged finale crit that makes the genuine finale feel favorable as an explanation: logically, it makes a lot less sense. narratively, it relies on a story that the audience wants to be true and acts as a "clean" explanation for everything while not actually taking into account a lot of what was ACTUALLY going on for c!dream (cutting off attachments for the sake of control versus watching people turn against you and becoming increasingly paranoid, for example). and believe them or not, the content creators involved have always asserted that staged finale was the plan from the beginning, not any form of retcon. (and we do know that people have been dodgy about stuff like the "original prisoner" literally since the week that c!dream was imprisoned, so take that as you will.) (okay to be fair theyve been dodgy about the original prisoner since the day that the prison began to be constructed, but the QnA from that first week of imprisonment sticks out to me in particular because cc!Sam had the biggest fucking smile on his face and staged finale would've been planned out and then carried out in entirety by the ccs and the c!s by that point.)
this is a longass post but uh hopefully it makes sense, lmao. tried to touch on most of what i've seen recently 😅

So… I have been obsessively rewatching streams to get as canon accurate as possible (as a perfectly sane person does… of course) and it kinda sparked a question. Clearly, Quackity’s lore is on the more scripted and edited side, so Punz’s talk with Purpled wasn’t a live impromptu and one of the things he specially highlights is “6 months” as the time frame for Dream being tortured in prison (not to mention the unspeakable and past people’s limits parts which there is no way Dream signed off on, but that’s a whole other can of worms…) We know that according to real life, Quackity tortured Dream daily for about 67 days if his last visit is the stream of making Dream write the letter (May 22nd, 2021), 75 days (from March 17th, 2021 - Quackity’s first visit stream to June 6th, 2021 - Techno’s stream where he visits Dream) if he holds up the deal to not torture Dream for a week or 82 days if he doesn’t, (we know he doesn’t get tortured while Techno is there because Dream mentions it in the podcast stream), which brings us to almost 3 months. Given this, why would Punz say 6 months? This isn’t a live stream slip up, this is scripted. They have time to verify the actual facts. So why would they say that and emphasize that point. 3 months is still a long time to be tortured daily, there’s no reason why that time frame wouldn’t be sufficient to convince Purpled of its ferocity.
One could make the argument that when Dream told Punz about it, he said 6 months because he didn’t know how long it was (which is actually what I thought at first), but Dream actually has a decent understanding of time at different points in prison so that’s not super likely. When Techno comes to visit Dream, Dream even says, he’s been there for 5 or 6 months (and that’s after Tommy’s stay and revival and stuff). We also know based on the jailbreak streams that Sam kept up the lie to Quackity that Dream escaped so even when Techno leaves it’s not like Quackity came back.
So, c!Dream knew, cc!Dream knew, cc!Quackity knew and given their attention to detail, I feel like they wouldn’t let cc!Punz get it wrong on accident. There’s no particular reason for c!Punz to lie and it’s not like an - I forgot how long let me just mention type of thing. No, this was one of the times in that talk with Purpled that he repeated himself for emphasis. So, why did he say 6 months?

I've given this spiel on Discord already but I'm thinking about it again today so here goes
The reason Las Nevadas worked as pre-recorded, highly polished lore whereas other arcs were better served by improvisation (or, especially later, fell flat in the attempt to be more "cinematic") is because that style of presentation reflected and enhanced the themes of c!Quackity's story.
c!Quackity is a very image-conscious guy. He's performing strength, coldness, and viciousness. He's performing power, wealth, and masculinity. He wants to look respectable and frightening in the ways he's seen respectability and fearsomeness modeled by others.
But in the process, he eclipsed his emotions, his better self, and his very humanity.
Las Nevadas itself is a testament to that desire. It's grand, impressive, and entirely artificial. It's a harsh contrast to the organic awkwardness of El Rapids and the ramshackle simplicity of early L'manberg and the White House. c!Quackity intended it to be unlike any country before it - an improvement, an escalation, his unique legacy.
Even the style of the streams reflects that! They become more and more elaborate as time goes on, and yes, you could say more artificial. There's no improvisation. There's no room for silly mistakes. There's no breaking character. It's flashier, grander, more impressive. It's a bunch of bright, sterile lights, all alone in a cold desert.
...okay, now I have to talk about the face cam.
On the DSMP, there are only a few characters who never streamed from their own perspective. Of these, c!Schlatt and c!Dream are best known, and this lack of first-person perspective is often cited as a reflection of their villainy. However, I would also describe this as symbolic of emotional masking. It's vulnerability, and whether the narratives and the characters allow themselves such vulnerability.
c!Schlatt may very well be the embodiment of stereotypical toxic masculinity. He is obsessed with appearances. He lifts weights, takes steroids, drinks protein shakes, and harshly belittles anyone who doesn't live up to his standards. At the same time, he is a deeply paranoid ruler, who increasingly suspects (not without reason) even those closest to him of treason. His commitment to his "tough guy" persona in spite of his faltering health ultimately kills him, as his heart gives out - alone in a crowd.
c!Dream is also a deeply paranoid man (again, not without reason) who is so afraid of coming to terms with a changing world and his own changing relationships that he cuts himself off from all but a few other people and schemes for a near-impossible reunification. He becomes a caricature of a villain and locks himself in both a literal and metaphorical black box, in which he suffers and, yet again, ultimately dies. As with c!Schlatt, what began as a means of self-protection becomes an avenue for demonization.
(As an aside: c!Techno also never uses a facecam, although he did stream his POV. His arc proceeds in a much different way from other "antagonistic" characters; c!Techno manages to overcome his mistrust of others, refine his anarchist ideals, form a community of friends who help one another, and end his story happy. He's a wonderful foil to c!Quackity, though for slightly different reasons than the other two figures mentioned.)
These two (three with c!Techno) figures, alongside c!Wilbur (their polar opposite, insofar as his penchant for Hamlet-esque soliloquies goes), form c!Quackity's idea of what it means to be powerful.
In the first Las Nevadas episode, Quackity uses the facecam in the same way he did previously. We see every flinch, hear every doubtful thought, feel every change of expression. Where this changes, though, is the final scene: Quackity tears apart El Rapids, the last remnant of his early life and connection to his loved ones, and returns home covered in a prisoner's blood.
Las Nevadas 3 has a much different ratio of facecam to non-facecam scenes. During the confrontations with c!Foolish and c!Purpled, those in which he is at his most expressive and physically vulnerable (as both of these characters could easily defeat him in a fight, forcing him to rely on personal appeal), we see him acting through the facecam. But during his discussion with c!Sam about potential recruits, he's all business and all masked up. In c!Fundy's nightmare, in which he is more a manifestation of insecurity than a character, we only see his smiling skin and a frosty voice.
As for the prison scene... hoooooly moly I gotta talk about the details in that scene a different time. But I think it's fair to say that while c!Quackity is undoubtedly in a position of power here, he also breaks down in a way we haven't seen in this context yet. And by the end… well, he's confident. What reason is there to hide? The only person he might hide from already knows what he's capable of. This is the most honest he's ever been about his motivations for torturing c!Dream, and his straightforwardness and undisguised hatred amplifies the horror of the scene.
Las Nevadas 4, however? This is where the pattern gets really interesting.
The first segment of the stream is made without a facecam. c!Quackity walks c!Slime through lessons on how to be successful and powerful, each of which is challenged and peeled back. c!Quackity never fully removes his mask, even around this person he trusts, because he is trying to be an example for that person to emulate.
But there are two scenes in which the facecam returns. One, during the reunion with his fiances in Kinoko Kingdom, in which c!Quackity lets himself be relaxed and affectionate for the first time in months before pivoting to an outburst of all his resentment, sorrow, and anger. Two, when c!Purpled traps him and c!Slime and he is forced to fight for his life before screaming in grief at his friend's death.
And the final scene of the episode? We see not just the facecam, but full live action. The actor showing his full image, and c!Quackity being completely open and sincere. There's hope! There's a real human person still in there! Perhaps he can trust again and change before it's too late!
And guess what happens in the End of Las Nevadas?
THAT'S RIGHT, NOT A SINGLE SECOND OF FACECAM. NOT EVEN A CRUMB. HE'S GOING MAD (SCIENTIST) WITH POWER AND TERRIBLE COPING MECHANISMS FOR GRIEF. OUR MAN IS FULLY LOST IN THE MOTHERFUCKING SAUCE.
And that persona - no, not just the persona, the very person he tried to squeeze into his own image! - is the one who kills him!
And this is why I never liked the notion that Quackity's lore being so polished set the bar too high for other storylines. Because first off, imagine trying to insult someone by literally saying they're too good. Second, c!Quackity's whole arc in Las Nevadas was about how the pursuit of power and acclaim at the expense of your ability to be sincere will fucking destroy you. This way of telling a story is neither superior nor inferior to the more naturalistic style of other arcs. It all comes down to personal taste and how the medium can enhance the creator's intention.
And if Las Nevadas rings false to you?
Good. You understood.
Learn something from its fall.

Ayyo this fandom need some good news for once in a while and since i was sharing hc‘s anyway, i‘ll be so generous
(All of these are about the c!character! None of these are about the content creators or shipping real people!!)
-Tubbo taught ranboo how to walz
-Tubbo would be super grumpy in the morning
-Fundy had an emophase
-Allyssa left because people have lost so many cannon lifes at such young age where they were and she wanted to live somewhere save and normal. She was super important to dream. So the reason he would’ve gone as far as he did and so much further to bring “peace” to the smp, was so he could convince allyssa to come back.
-Techno has schizophrenia (is this canon?)
-Sapnap is like alyssas sister
-Niki helps fundy raise yogurt
-Hannah and george are siblings
-Tina and karl are siblings
-Max and purpled are brothers
-Punz and alyssa are siblings und purpled and max’s older siblings
-Tubbo would wear Karls clothes all the time
-Skeppy and jack r siblings
-Sometimes (just sometimes) tubbo would call philza dad or dadza (on accident???) and he didnt know how to feel about it but he let it slide
-Tubbos eyes r pink bc he inherited albinism from puffy
-Karl has the tism
-Everyone in the syndicate had greek mythology god code names
-Michael has an eyepatch !!!
-Tommy has adhd (duh)
-Tubbo has adhd-authism
-Sapnap has borderline
-Bipolar w!lbur (fuck wilbur soot btw)
-Q has bpd and borderline
-Karl and Ranboo are siblings.
-Ranboo and tina went apart in a huge fight (similar to quackitys and karls) because he forgot her. They didnt have contact at all for years until karl made them bc he was sick of always having to make sure to not talk about the other sibling. They’re still having trouble but they do their best trieng to be better and get closer again.
-Narcissistic schlatt
-Noone ever questioned whether foolish was puffies biological son even tho shes a sheep and no one in her fam has shark genes
-Yogurt being all white has nothing to do with him being born in snowchester, it’s because dream is his biological dad and Puffy‘s albinism skipped a generation so he inherited it from dream.
-tubbos hair used to be malfoy-level pale blonde but he dyed it and dyes it darker woth every new trauma bc he wants to leave his old self, his past behind (doesn’t work lmfao)

C!Niki Design Timeline
My thoughts about her design under the cut!
L’MaNiki
I have an art piece of everyone’s L’Manberg uniforms that Tumblr won’t let me link, but the general gist is that anyone who joined post revolution got to choose the shade of their coat, and got a light blue sash instead of a red one. They also don’t have the lines on the boots.
Elections
She dyed parts of her hair orange to match Fundy for coconut2020, and a lot of her outfit was styled to reflect to the people that she was loyal to L’Manberg - keeping the same collar shape as her uniform, wearing the same turtleneck, wearing the shoulder pads
Manberg
She dyed her hair! Niki tied the sash from her L’Manberg uniform around her leg as a sort of rebellious act against JSchlatt (which she did a lot of), showing she was loyal to Wilbur’s nation rather than his. She also tied the hairtie around her wrist. Her sweater is the mental-breakdown shade of pink that she dyed her hair later, showing that this was the start of her mental decline and that this was a massive period of loneliness.
Pogtopia
She cut her hair and put it up into pigtails so that it was out of the way while she was in the ravine. I headcanon that this was when she got Wilbur’s cloak and that he gave it to her once she joined. Also, despite not participating in a war yet she has a scar on her leg from being chased out of Manberg and murdered by Ponk on the day of Tubbo’s execution, which is what led to her joining Pogtopia. The L’Manberg hairtie is still on her wrist but the ones in her hair are the mental breakdown colour, however there is less of that pink on this design than the Manberg one as joining Pogtopia reunited her with many of her friends, so she didn’t feel as alone even if she was still scared.
Breakdown
This design is for the entirety of New L’Manberg, Doomsday, and the rocket duo arc, up until the point where she stopped trying to kill Tommy and focused more on her secret city (where she locked herself up due to sleepwalking and night terrors). This arc lasted a long time and goes acrosss multiple eras her appearance remained how it did from NLM because she had no motivation to change anything, despite usually taking pride in aspects of her appearance such as her hair (which had grown out slightly between Pogtopia and now). There is no a single reference to L’Manberg in this outfit but she does still have Wilbur’s cloak.
Healing arc
Niki’s healing began after joining the syndicate but I think the appearance change would not come until at least a few months after joining as she was still trying to find her sense of self again. When she did, she went back to her blonde hair but dyed half brown, like a reference to Ranboo and Puffy. She continues to wear Wilbur’s cloak but is now in a much classier fit, having spent too much time with Techno (who definitely gave her the gold). The L’Manberg hairtie is back, this time with a braid, because I think Syndicate braids is an even cooler concept than sbi braids

Heyy, can you do c!SBI being Reader’s new neighbors in a modern AU? Platonic please :] (and more specifically, if you want: Techno, Wil, and Reader are in their early twenties, Tommy is around 15-17, and Phil is… old LMAO, prolly late 30s or 40s)
If you don’t want to do it is fine btw !!!
★C!sbi being readers new neighbour★
a/n: hi anon! This took me some time, but i was able to get it done, i did headcanons and small drabbles of all 4 and this is entirely platonic! And sorry wilburs drabble is a bit shorter than he rest, i don't watch him much
pronouns: you/yours
requested: yes/no
TW: Cussing and swords?
.
.
C!Philza:
•He first first met you when you were struggling to bring in a fair amount of groceries
•He was the one who introduced himself and his sons to you
•He invited you over once he realised that they're your new neighbour
•He also told Tommy to not be rude
•He also accidentally knocks things over with his wings
•His wings seemed a bit..weird at first not to mention how huge they were
•But you eventually got use to them once you went over to they're house constantly
•However your clothes may have a few small feathers in them, which are a dark grey considering his age
•He also lectures Tommy for cussing a lot, which you can hear all the time
•And you also hear a bunch of random noises from him at random times
•Usually his random bird noises
•But you may also need to help the old man finding his stuff since he's kinda blind
•Also helping him find his bucket hat finds someone (Tommy) likes to hide it. A lot
You stared at the amount of groceries you had, maybe you shouldn't have bought so many but you got distracted while shopping. But what caught your attention was the moving truck that was outside the house next door to you. The house has been vacant for a while since the old owners found a better place, but the house was fairly nice. You started grabbing your groceries to bring them inside when a man approached you, he looked a to be in late thirties to mid forties. "Hey uh do you need help bring your groceries inside? I don't mind help" He said as he stood beside you. "Uh yes please, also are you moving in to that house?" You replied as you put down the groceries and pointed to the house next to yours. "Yes i am actually, with my three sons, also my names Philza" He replied as he brought the remaining groceries near your front door. "Well nice to meet you Philza, I'm [name], and thanks for helping me!" You stated
.
.
.
C!Wilbur:
•He was the one who told phil you were struggling with groceries in the first place
•The most odd thing was that he collected guitars. A lot of them
•Like, guitars from the early 1920's type of guitars from different places around the world
•He accompanied Tommy when Phil told him to go just incase Tommy chocked out
•He showed you his guitar collection when you came over
•He kept asking you where things were in the city since his family didn't know anyone else
•Since the first night, you can hear him and Tommy fighting about the most random stuff
•He'll introduce you to his 'twin', techno
•Since he's only been in the neighbourhood for a week when he introduces you to techno, he may ask you to come with him when he's going somewhere so he doesn't get lost
•He will also scold Tommy for being rude to you at first
•"Oi Tommy knock it off you gremlin" is what you probably hear when you go over there for the first time
•He's probably the most polite excluding Phil when you first meet
•However when you come over (since Phil insisted first up), he'll be the one to strike up conversation with you until the awkwardness is gone
"Hey [name] before you go do you wanna check out my guitar collection before you go? A fair amount of it is vintage" He said as he cut Infront of Tommy who was talking to you a second ago. "Uh yeah sure but what about Tommy?" You replied confusingly. "Hey Tommy i think phil was asking you to tidy up your room, so why don't you listen to him and do it?" Wilbur said as he faced Tommy. "Fine." Tommy replied in spite and not long after Tommy left, Wilbur took you to his room where his guitar showcase was, everything was sorted into decades, from the early twenties to the current time.
.
.
.
C!Technoblade:
•He didn't speak to you first up until Wilbur introduced you to him
•He has this..interesting vibrant pink coloured hair which was slightly faded at the roots
•He appeared to have these pointy tusks that came from his bottom jaw
•He collects a bunch of old blades of all sorts
•He's the most chill out of all 4 of them, once he trusts you enough he'll show all of them to you and when you first come over he may or may not show you a few swords that are more modern
•While the rest of the sbi sleeps downstairs, to sleeps upstairs because it's less noisy, so expect to see him from your windows just reading a book
•When you first come over, he'll start talking about mythology from all around the world and ask if you know anything about mythology
•If you do, he'll strike up conversation about that certain mythology you know about
•He'll feel more comfortable around you since your around his age, so expect a lot of "It's stuff only adults understand, into it [name?]" When Tommy tries to ask about something
•If you don't know about mythology he'll teach you about the basics of it
•He won't scold Tommy but he'll tell him to stop being rude since they're new to the neighbourhood and you've been her longer than they have been
.
•And he's also a bit awkward at first until he's use to you
Technoblade recently invited you to his room so he could show his blades to you, although he got a bit carried away when talking about the origins of a certain blade that came from a famous Greek soldier. "Books say the sword he owned was connected to the Greek god, Ares-" He rambled before the got distracted by another sword "Oh and this one has originally came from a Romen empire while they were at war, The sword was owned by they're ruler" He continued. Eventually you asked how he knew so much about these swords "Well, Phil had them before he gave them to me, and also, Tommy wasn't rude to you when he first invited you over was he?" He spoke up. "Well he was a bit rude but he wasn't too bad" You replied as you recall the interaction you had with the youngest a bit over a week ago.
.
.
C!tommyinnit:
•He first caught your attention when he was yelling at Wilbur about how he should get the biggest room since he's the better sibling out of the 3
•He then later was forced- or in his words at least, to invite you over
•Which he avoided until Wilbur went with him
•He was a bit blunt, snarky and slightly rude which got him a slap on the head from Wilbur
•And later got him a lecture from Philza which you could hear most the night
•But once you came over and he got comfortable with you, he was a lot more polite and vocal
•Even if he did comment on how 'old' you were
•But over all he was a polite kid (which he hated being called since he was a man according to himself)
You heard a knock on your front door, and as you opened it, you saw 2 people, someone around your age and someone younger who looked to be around 16. "Uh yeah hi, We wanted to know if you wanted to come over one night" The younger one said, Who you were assuming is Tommy, the youngest one Philza told you about. "And who may you two be?" You asked curiously just incase you got them confused for someone else. "Tom. And this bitch is Wilbur" He said quite bluntly as he received a side eye from Wilbur then a slap on the head from him. "Tommy don't be so rude." Wilbur replied as he smacked his younger brother on the head. "Well uh- sure i love to!" You chirped, ignoring Tommy who was cussing at Wilbur.

Thinking back to when c!Quackity forced c!Dream to write the note to Techno to ask him to come to the prison... Dream never did write that note, did he?
When Quackity showed up to Techno's birthday party and told him Dream wanted to see him, Techno asked for a note from him and Quackity started making excuses that he lost it or forgot where he put it but he could go back and get it if Techno wanted
Either cc!Quackity genuinely forgot to get Dream to write the note/he lost it, or canonically, Dream never gave in to his demands to write it despite the torture
Dream also tried to yell at Techno that he "didn't write that note" when Techno showed up at the prison so it implies he thought Quackity forged it or something
on the stream, 'the favor', c!quackity is clearly holding a book and says he 'wrote down some things' that c!dream said. [starts around here] but he never mentions any specifics other than 'the favor' which c!techno almost immediately jumps to explain away with a cover story.
quackity also never gives techno the book stating that sam is strict with what comes out of the prison and that 'maybe [he] could get dream to write something' when techno asks for something written down from dream or some kind of proof.
so the implication is definitely that dream might have given up some information during torture but still refused to write the actual note. that despite everything, yeah, dream would not betray techno in that fashion. i'm haunted by that thought, honestly.
dream shouting at techno that he didn't write the note absolutely implies that he believed quackity had forged a note to trick techno and was desperate to let him know that he hadn't betrayed techno.

my favorite ship is currently drunz but i think droolish has some really neat lore stuff (also your art so. yep)
also i’m sure you’ve thought/posted about this but as i was looking over my ask for grammar i. anyways. thoughts about dream/punz/foosh?
:D !!!! c!drunz is really. rlly good. Like "long time no see buddy" rewired my synapses.
C!Dream/Punz/Foolish would have a really interesting dynamic! I think actually working together, c!foolish and c!Punz would probably kinda hate each other because they're such opposites (positive). Like Dream and Foolish parallel each other even in the ways they differ they're just two sides of the same coin but Punz genuinely believes in The Plan he legit thinks the murder and ultimate control are Cool and Good and actively enables Dream's destructive tendencies (all of these things are things I adore about cpunz he's literally deranged I love him).
At the same time Punz also genuinely cares very deeply about Dream and harbors deep seated rage towards the people who've hurt him (see the stream where he tells purpled about the torture). Which puts Punz and Foolish into a very elite club together called "Being Appalled by the Prison Conditions and Specifically the State Sanctioned Torture" The clubs founder is Techno.
Honestly I think it's the fact they're both disgusted by the torture that would bond them together, again there's like maybe 4 people on the server who treat the torture as the horrific thing it was. A lot, and I mean a lot, of people brush it off.
Still, Foolish is a builder who only strikes back after continuous provocation. Punz is literally a gun for hire. There's some fundamental morals that would clash against each other. BUT at the same time Foolish is very friendly and no one is really off limits from becoming his buddy. He did befriend his murderers after all <3 another element is Sapnap has beef with dream and foolish which is genuinely such a funny connection between them especially since he has no reason to hate foolish he just fucking does 😭
Tl;Dr: Foolish and Punz would have some strong fundamental disagreements about the other but ultimately come together over their collective hatred for how Dream was treated in the prison. Also Foolish is just a goofy silly guy and everyone loves goofy silly guys

Re. That thing you posted about techno getting hurt and not telling - i am barking, growling, frothing at the mouth, i love this concept so much. Fucking hiding injuries my beloved, fucking collapsing with the adrenaline crash my BELOVED! Everyone would be so worried, rushing to help him in any way they can. Scrambling to take off his complicated armor to see where the bleeding is coming from. Techno later feeling so guilty about taking attention away from the others' injuries hrhdhdgsksm
Hiding injuries is a whump classic and an all-time fav of mine. It also fits c!Technoblade perfectly. He's not prone to showing weakness, not even to friends. He plays everything off as a joke, he doesn't enjoy people being worried about him. He's just about the right mix between a lack of self preservation and protectiveness over his friends to put himself in harms way then ignore/hide his own wounds or sickness until they're taken care of. It's just *chef's kiss*.
You can go for hurt/comfort, heavy on the comfort, with any dynamic of choice. Hiding injuries until literal collapse is always great, having his friends panic and fuss over Techno. Then nursing back to health while affectionately being chewed out for hiding it. Really fluffy stuff :catnod:
I also like this trope with the angstier approach of maybe Techno hiding it because he doesn't trust people / doesn't think they'll care. Like Pogtopia era or similar. Was Techno actually hiding his injuries or did his allies simply... Not bother to check up on him? Because he's The Blade and all.
A nice injury reveal vibes with changing perception or even enemies to caretakers, where another character realizes Techno is not half as untouchable as he seems, maybe with some added guilt thrown in there. So tasty!

Giving you some c!Dream thoughts (and some c!Quackity). I've seen you deep dive c!Quackity and I want to talk about the parallels between the two (You've made c!loudduo live rent free in my head). Imagine c!Quackity comes in during the Prison arc - and he's feeding c!Dream this beautiful lie. That Quackity has all the things that Dream doesn't and wants so badly. That he's got George, that he's got Sapnap and Las Nevadas is prospering and everyone outside is living harmoniously. Everything Dream tried and failed to achieve.
And top it all off, Quackity is twice the villain Dream tried to become - he tells on himself about the torture, and all the corners he's cut to make Las Nevadas... yet he gets away with it. How much does it burn Dream, how much of that is looking in the mirror and seeing a better version of yourself in some ways. The villain that got his cake and eats it too.
How much of that disgusts Quackity, because outside of the prison - the lie unravels. And Quackity has to contend with the fact he's become worse than the very thing he sought to destroy.
// dsmp rp
It makes me crazy! I think what makes this scenario so devastating is the fact that it hammers home one of Dream's greatest fears: not that he's hated because he's committed horrible acts, but that he's hated because he's Dream. It doesn't matter what he does, and it never did, because Wilbur had turned everyone against him before he had even done those things! It seems like Dream is holding onto this hope that yeah, sure, his old friends will hate him now, and that's fine, they'll understand his reasoning later. But if there's NO reasoning? If Quackity can do what Dream did and worse without a care in the world? Then how does Dream get his happy ending? Then what was any of this for?
Dream has been surviving on the basis that all this suffering, from the prison and before, it's all temporary. Now that's all gone. There's no happy ending to return to; his friends have chosen their side. Not to mention, if everyone's known about the torture, and Dream is still stuck in here with no visitors and no escape in sight, then that means he's never getting out. Techno would've saved him by now. Sapnap would've talked to him, or George. Punz, at the very least, should've acted, right? Right? But that could also mean that… this is all just a lie. Quackity would do that, wouldn't he? He would lie about this. It's so easy for Dream to lose track of reality like this—he can't even remember where he got half the information he thinks he knows, if it was from a trusted source or not. Maybe his mind even made some of it up.
Although, arguably, I think this arrangement could actually be worse for Quackity! With Dream, there's at least the distant hope that Quackity is just being Quackity and that his friends really do have no idea what's going on. With Quackity, there's none of that. Every day that he brags to Dream about George and Sapnap and Las Nevadas is another day that he has to return home and confront the harsh reality. It hurts more the longer he dwells on it. Dream's pain is constant and visceral and violent to the point where he can't afford to think about anything else, except for maybe the distant light at the end of the tunnel. But Quackity has already reached the light at the end of the tunnel, and it's darker than he expected it to be, and it's never going to get brighter. His happy ending isn't happy. It makes him hate Dream so much more.
