Death sentence
We are sorry Phantom, but we need to see by yourselves if you are a threat or not, we will be visiting you tomorrow at 4:40 pm
-Justice League
Danny was unsure about his feelings, apparently the government contacted the JL to eliminate him because he was "dangerous", but Martian Manhunter, knowing the government was not always the best, convinced them, so the League leave a message to Vlad instead.
Vlad didn't want to fight with him, he published the note in Amity newspaper. Now, that was kinda...bad, not for him, but for the rest of Amity Park. It was like being sentenced to death.
While Danny freaked out the entire city was having a meeting, they didn't want the Justice League there, not near Phantom or Fenton, he was a kid, the league have a history ignoring calls and kidnapping child heroes to be part of their "society", and train them "properly". Their kid was already death, they were not going to take risks.
Amity Parkers also know they will start to choose between him as they choose between their "personas", like Phantom and Fenton were different, and yeah, the inhabitants of Amity Park can't judge, it take a while to figure out he was the same but by that point he already saved their lifes and they were already attached to him.
If the League finds out the kid was a halfa they will choose a favorites; "Phantom" being better fighter than "the civil identity Fenton", "Fenton" being intelligent "when he is not at hero work", and to be honest they understand, when a person acts different is normal to separate between the two personalities.
They will obligate him to separate himself, like the "hero" and the "civilian" needed to act different or some stupid thing like that.
But Fenton Phantom was not a personality to separate, they were the same and the small city remembered all the fights, all the favoritism, remembered when Fenton was left out because of his better "half", remembered when they needed to buy the kid an apartment far from his parents cause it taked a while for them to separate "His cute guy Dann-o" and " The Ghost scum"
And the city remembered the sobs, the adults remember leaning out their window at night and hearing the uncontrollable wailing of the ghost, allowing himself to be the scared teenager he always was.
That day, they made a promise, to accept him, all of him, he never needed to be separated in two again, he was not destined to, he was the representation of equilibrium between life and death for god sake. The kid already hidden from them for two years, two years of scars and fighting alone, and they will never repeat that error.
The Justice League have no right to break their promise. And they will never let them ruin another kid, not an Amity Parker.
So, what happened next was just natural; the next day Mr. Lancer called Sam and Tucker, told them to guide Danny to the Ghost Zone for a while, maybe entertain him with his ghost friends, they accepted.
"Team Phantom" was still active (with Dani and Val help) but they had more support than ever, and they trusted their city, all basically united by the guy who literally spends his after life protecting them.
The thing is, it was almost stupid what happened in the past, Danny was sleep deprived, his fight with Pariah ended well but the suit suck too much energy for him, that connected with his lack of sleep ended in a transformation In the middle of town, where everyone could see it.
It took a while to accept the reality, that a boy had fought with the king of the dead for a city that hated him. They even pretended to have no idea about the revelation, acting like they didn't know for another couple of weeks; Although the news spread and gossip was not lacking.
Sam and Tucker expected the other shoe to drop, but they ended surprised when the city called a reunion (since when the totally of the city reunited?), they acted like Danny bodyguards, but what they didn't expected was the Fentons unable to look at them and leave the room.
The people who stayed offered an apology (but Val wanted an explanation) and an apartment (¿the city collected money to give him an apartment far from his home? Danny wasn't sure if he was happy or heartbroken)
When the Justice League arrived the Red Huntress was waiting for them, her weapon pointing the "heroes" who frowned at the sight of the "hero" holding wepons.
"Sorry, ¿is Phantom haunt here?" Martian Manhunter asked cordially, the girl nodded "¿can we talk with him?"
"No"
"¿Why not?¿is he dangerous?¿is he hiding from us? It's okay, we can capture him if that's the case" Flash assured, hoping that would take away the tense atmosphere, the meta ghost was probably the villain of the city or something, so that made the red suit girl the hero.
"We can also give you proper training so you can stop using wepons" Wonder Woman also offered.
"First of all, that's none of your business, you don't go to Star City and ask Green arrow to stop using arrows cause you don't like them, I don't care about your training" the girl answers, obviously annoyed "second, we don't want you here, not near him"
The Martian frowned "Sorry ¿we?"
"We" the girl pointed at the city, all the city was watching them, but contrary to normal meetings they were watching them with resentment.
"Eh, ¿why? Maybe this is all a misunderstanding..." Superman was trying not to look at the people, even the kids on the street seemed to stop what they were doing just to look at them with pure hate in their eyes "can we see the major?".
"I'm here" Vlad appeared behind the girl and greeted them "I see you already meet the Red Huntress"
"Yes, ¿Do you know where Phantom is? We send a note yesterday" Batman asked, the reason of the meeting was not there after all.
"Yes, I remember, the Death Sentence you left on my door cause of the U.S government ¿right?"
"¿Death sentence? That's not-"
"Oh, but it is, you left your precious note in my office, overnight, asking us to hand you over to our local hero for you to search and see if he's a threat, ¿am I wrong?" Vlad was having fun teasing these heroes.
"Sir, we need you to understand, according to the U.S government Phantom is a dangerous individual, maybe he can even destroy your city" Superman tried
"According to the U.S government we don't exist, ¿or did you forget that information on purpose?" the huntress mocked
"I remember, but it was for your safety, the government was trying to contain the threat-"
"The Goverment this, the government that, you see superheroes, we are not ruled by the government anymore, this is a free city, since we were contained here, we produce everything on your own, food, energy, we owe nothing to the government and much less to you"
"¡But we can help you! We can get ride of your meta infestation and-" Flash was trying to mediate
"¿Meta infestation? ¿That's what they told you?, oh poor heroes, getting here with the grown information" the major laughed "Look, I will make myself clear, we have a ghost infestation, Amity Park is now a death city and we prefer it this way"
"And what about Phantom?" Martian Manhunter asked worried.
Vlad sighed "You can visit him, he likes space, however" he pointed at the other heroes "they can't, we don't need the Goverment help, we don't need your help, we are alive because of that boy and we don't want YOUR team near him, Phantom is an Amity Parker and it will stay that way" the major walked away.
"Look, ¿Martian Manhunter? You are a good guy I get it, but we don't want all of you here, the only hero we want is Phantom and we don't need your ideologies or training near him, he is OURS, so please, get out of the city while we are still being nice" Red Hunter stated.
"¿What if you need help?" Batman asked
"We needed help two years ago, the boy you want to take saved us when you decided not to take our pleas, and as such, we won't take yours" the girl said "Amity Park can take care of it's own as always, go save a city that need you"
And with that said she flew away, leaving them at the entrance of the city, the angry shouts and mutters of the citizens saying that they wanted them away in the background.

Amity Park is different
Amity Park has a local superhero.
He's great. He works hard to protect his town. That said, Amity's local hero is a teenager. The people he relies on to help and support him are teenagers. The town's superhero defense is a handful of kids figuring things out on their own.
They do good, but sometimes the people of Amity have to be prepared to lend a hand or hold their own for a bit. That's just how life is under these conditions. Communities come together and support each other. It's fine. People adapt. Life goes on. They're really doing quite well.
A class from Amity Park visits a museum in Gotham on a field trip. They get caught in an unfortunately timed Scarecrow attack.
Scarecrow should have known better than to activate the fight or flight responses of a group of Amity Parkers.
The gas canister drops and discharges. The field trip group explodes into action.
A pair of Football players quickly overturns a table and use it as a shield as they charge the goons with the most firepower. Cheerleaders toss each other into the air for aerial attacks. Nerds turn objects from a nearby Janitor closet into a surprisingly effective trebuchet with astounding speed. One girl utilizes impressive martial arts skills.
A boy with Black hair and blue eyes flits about the battlefield pilfering and disassembling weapons with a shocking degree of efficiency as a Goth girl follows him around and bludgeon anyone who attempts to make a grab for him with a stand that had been holding up a rope barrier, and a boy in a beret lays down cover fire by launching pencils out of a makeshift bow formed from a binder and rubber bands with a startling degree of accuracy.
The teacher flits around pulling kids out of the path of attacks they hadn't seen, stowing any injured behind cover, and giving foes solid thwack on the noggin when the opportunity arises. He actually ends up knocking out Scarecrow himself.
The statement "We're not trapped in here with you. You're trapped in here with us," is repeated several times by different people.
When the Bats or police arrive, they have to carefully pull the feildtrip group off of the unfortunate rogues.
It takes a while to get the antidotes administered, but they do eventually manage. The class remains in defensive formation the whole time.
When the kids finally calm down enough to give statements, they mostly just say that Scarecrow gets what he gets for deliberately activating Amity Parkers' fight or flight responses. After the antidotes take effect, the class seems unfazed and goes about their business as soon as the authorities allow.
Some other visitors to the museum upload videos of the event online with titles like "the one class that was prepared for a field trip to Gotham" and "What kind of place is Amity Park, and why haven't I heard of it before?"
It doesn't take long for people to edit the videos to set the fight to music. Popular song choices include Ballroom Blitz, Bring 'em Out by Hawk Nelson, and the "we like to party" song from the six flags commercial.
Now the Bats are investigating Amity Park (and why they haven't heard of it before).

Sam and Tucker have had enough
Amity Park is wayyyyyy too dangerous for Danny! Tucker agrees!
His parents and the GIW and the lack of basic human rights and dignity; literally anywhere else would treat him with respect.
They need a plan to force Danny's obsession away from Amity and onto another city, one that will either help protect him or be easier to hide in.
Cyborg was not expecting a young man from Illinois to hack his way into a Zeta tube, pop up in the tower, and start handing out resumes as to why he would make an amazing sidekick.
Poison Ivy was not expecting, in the middle of a fight, for a young woman to approach her with a resume as to why she would be a good assistant.
The director of Arkham was not expecting a young woman who finished her major early to walk into his office and lay a folder of blackmail on his desk, usurping his position in the span of one week as the Head of Operations.
Now Phantom is making periodic trips outside of Amity; he's usually one of the first on scene to calm down Ivy's new assistant in Gotham, and he's usually the second or third backup for Cyborg's new sidekick whenever the boy gets in over his head.
He's doing it with more and more frequency.
Other Amity Parkers start doing it; Dash applies for the police force in Gotham, Paulina applies for a job as a journalist in Metropolis, Wes applies for a job as a PI in Star City; and every time they manage to get themselves in too deep, Phantom is the first one they call for.
And Phantom, with each save, showcases more and more of his power.
Which leads to a major question on all citizens minds; What the fuck is wrong with Amity that they need a superhero that goddamn strong full time?

Dani is trying to convince Bruce that she already has a family but the man was unconvinced.
Being Batman, he patrols at night together with Robin and from time to time, he'd see Dani sleeping at abandoned buildings or under a bridge of some kind.
Each time he sees the girl sleeping here and there, he'd wake the little girl and convince her to at least seek shelter maybe at someone's certain house but that got Dani giving flashbacks of Vlad and his creepy way of talking.
Vlad changed and all but still creepy.
Now Dani is deciding to go back to Amity Park cuz she already has seen the parts of Gotham but before she leaves, she bids farewell to Bruce at first. Going to his mansion and all, saying goodbye and to his kids.
Saying that she's going to Amity Park to be with her family but Bruce wasn't convinced, why? Because in their data, Amity Park doesn't exist.
This whole thing is suspicious so he plans to follow the girl as she goes back home as Batman.
Dani also waited around where Batman usually patrols at night to say goodbye cuz why not? She didn't want to let the guy get worried seeing as how the man would keep trying to help her.
She didn't want him thinking that she might be dead, well, she is, but they don't know that.
So after the goodbyes and all that. Dani waits for a bus, why? She wants to experience using a public transport and because of that, Batman gets to follow the girl easily but little did he know, Dani could actually hear and see perfectly fine because of her ghost powers that Batman was following her. A bit creeped out but she understands.
The bus stopped at nowhere but home was close, Dani just needed to walk, usually she flies but a bat was following her.
Dani contacted Danny to get her and also informed him that a certain dude just won't go away.
And then blah blah blah, Batman was caught by Danny.
Danny: why are you following us?
Batman: !?
Dani: don't worry, Danny, he's a superhero too
Danny: *looks up and down* ....I see...
Batman now gets to see Amity Park and now that he knows where it is and confirmed the girl's safety. He left.
Then researched about Amity Park back at his mancave but bats themed.
Batman found out that the GIW were keeping the place a secret, not that they were doing illegal but to protect the ghosts from any other people.
After the GIW found out about Danny Fenton and Danny Phantom, they started to open their eyes and sees how good can ghosts be and is actively helping Danny now.
But Batman doesn't know such real reason and theorized they were trying to keep a meta human a secret so they could get Phantom without anyone knowing about it.
So, Batman called the young justice team to go out and investigate.
Strange things that the team found out was that Amity Parkers doesn't care about what's going on the outside of their homes and that's mostly due to ghosts and the only hero their is also a ghost. Not wanting for anymore villains, they all decided not to attract anymore people from getting here and give the Parkers more trouble.
What they also found out was that the residents may be clueless and blind at some times, they were all fascinatingly fast learners when it comes to fighting and also fleeing.
The team also gets to meet Phantom, a cheerful guy and Dani (human form) who was talking casually with him.

Fake Cryptids, Real Ghosts
Ok, so dp x dc/batfam because this AU has me by the throat but what if it's the fake cryptid batfamily AU who never joined the JL.
Just...imagine it. The Batfamily has been protecting Gotham quietly but fiercely by scaring the daylights out of criminals as creatures that go bump in the night. A bit of stage magic, frightening method acting, contortion, a whole language comprised of chirps, growls, and body language, and the best tech possible and you've got a recipe for striking fear into the hearts of everyone.
They've got shrines on the rooftops, vaguely on the JL radar (Cause really, who's gonna believe that Gotham, one of the worst cities has a demon problem? Constantine? Homeboy took one look at Gotham and went Nope.) and they're protected cause any self respecting Gothamite wouldn't go spilling the beans to Outsiders. The Bats keep them safe. Who would believe them anyways?
Enter half dead, half alive Danny Fenton.
Danny Fenton who has a best friend's named Tucker and Sam who find out about the Gotham Cryptids, and go absolutely ham on research because here lies something,a bunch of someone's who are Other. Maybe they're creepy but they're cool and they're Heroes and they help people.
Sure, at first it was an attempt from Sam and Tucker to help their best friend feel less alone in the face of other, more 'normal' heroes and people out there in the world. Maybe they try to further bury the Bats online cause if anyone understands keeping on the down low, it would be Amity Parker's. For awhile, Danny Fenton, sometimes Phantom is simply happy to know he's not alone.
Then he's outed and his sister who's long since been ecto-contaiminated is put at risk there's nowhere that seems safer. Gotham is a chaotic city, even without the Bats factoring in. After all Gotham has (Demons-Spirits-Creatures?) The Bats already. Who would care if a halfa and his sister hide out there? As long as they're respectful of their territory, it'll be fine right? Besides, they've got to warn the Bats anyways about the GIW and government. They're coming after ghosts, who knows if they'll be next? Spooky things have to look out for each other after all.
Cue shenanigans as Phantom who stops hiding all of his creepier traits as a ghost walks up to the Totally Human but Faking it Batman with really thoughtful gifts for all of their shrines (And one fruitcake), no heartbeat and an earnest plea for a safe haven in their Haunt because the Ancients taught him manners and the importance of respecting another entities territory.

dpxdc drossover not phantom planet complient, Jason attacks titans tower AU , good fenton parents - link to AO3 if you'ld rather read there https://archiveofourown.org/works/53359585
------------------------------------------------------------------
Danny was flying over the bay in Jump city. The Fentons were on a road trip - Jazz was in the process of picking what college she wanted to attend, and since Phantom was no longer a secret from his parents, and he had passed his portal making test from Wulf, rather than have to fly, or drive around the country, he was making portals and visiting each college.
The downside of this was that the portals were a little wibbly wobbly with time. Hey - he only just passed the test - So sometimes the portals would drop them off in a location a few days before the open day (Fortunately for Jazz’s remaining sanity, he hadn’t yet arrived too late for an open day, but with four left to go there was still a chance).
Since mom and dad now knew about Phantom, They were taking the opportunity to drag the whole family around the country, to every college Jazz was looking at (and with neither time or travel being a concern, she was looking at A LOT), and having a few days around the town afterwards, seeing the local sights as well. So they were in Jump City for a few days before Jazz went to see UC Berkeley: and Danny couldn’t sleep.
Or at least that's what he told mum after persuading her he would be fine to go for a quick invisible flight before bed.
Invisible of course, because Jump city was home to the teen titans - a local group of teenage superheroes - and the last thing he needed was to be noticed by them. Not that he had anything against superheroes - technically he was one - but Amity had been under media blackout since before the titans were formed. It was only after Tucker had managed to crack the media blackout - and get a quick message out to the justice league helpline about the GIW and the Anti-Ecto- Acts, that Danny had even realised there were other teen heroes.
That had been a very hectic few weeks. The GIW were quickly disbanded, and it turned out the AEA which Danny had been so afraid of, were a load of bull! They never existed! As the Justice League explained, with the Meta Protection Acts so much in the public view, there was no way any Acts that labelled those with unusual powers as not sentient - was ever going to pass. It was just a lie the GIW put about to prevent Amity Parkers from asking for help.
The Justice League had also told mom and dad they had to permanently close the portal, or at least have much, much more security to prevent ghosts coming and going as much. They eventually agreed to this, with a lot of grumbling, and it was one of the reasons that Danny needed to learn to make portals so quickly. Mom and dad told the justice league that, as Amity Park had so many natural portals anyway - that opened up from time to time - they would need to open it occasionally to send the ‘visitors’ who came through the portal back home. But the justice league argued that should be the only reason to open the portal.
Dad kept arguing that how were they supposed to research ghosts (no longer for ripping them apart molecule by molecule - as learning about their son being Phantom had changed their ideas massively) - and how they interact with each other and the world - with the portal only open for emergencies. Until Mom sidled up beside him and whispered that “Danny can still open portals if needed dear” which shut dad up so quickly that the justice league member - John somebody - looked at him suspiciously - and then went outside for another smoke. Eventually it was settled, with mom volunteering to supply the justice league with some anti-ecto technology - particularly specter deflectors, because no-one wants an overshadowed superman.
Anyway, after all the portals and GIW were sorted, the Justice league made some noise about this Phantom ghost - and they needed to meet him and assess what to do. The public of Amity Park were (as always) mixed in reviews, but Valarie, who had already met up with the League when they arrived, as Red Huntress, said very publicly that “As the local hero of Amity, I will make sure he doesn’t bother the public”. Then, more quietly, to the league “... besides Phantom really only stops the other ghosts from causing trouble, and with the portal shut there should be less of that.” And finally, lying through her teeth, “If there’s any trouble, I'll call you guys in”.
The Constantine guy hung around for a few more days, but since there was no sign of Phantom, and the only ghost that came through a natural portal, was an animal ghost, that was easily souped by Red Huntress. Constantine watched as it was yeeted back into the Ghost Zone - and eventually left with only mild complaining.
Now Danny, why did Phantom not appear? Well, since the beginning  of Phantom appearing, he really was only a hero to stop people getting hurt. He didn't want to be a hero. He just wanted to stop the ghosts coming through the portal. Since Val was there to deal with the Justice league, and they were now getting on fairly well because of Dani, she could be the ‘Hero of Amity Park’ and she had his number to give him a shout if needed. That way he could actually get his grade up high enough to have a chance of attending a decent college to be an astronaut.
So with that all sorted, and ghosts now more of an occasional thing than a day to day problem, he was able to leave Amity Park and actually go on holiday! Besides, if he got bored and wanted a fight, he could now portal to the GZ, grab a frenemy- and duke it out without any collateral damage. Frostbite and Clockwork had both said, one much more plainly than the other, that ghosts - particularly young ghosts like Danny, Dani, and even Vlad - who was young by ghost standards, would start to go a bit mad without regular enrichment. Apparently enrichment for ghosts was beating the stuffing out of each other.
This did explain why Vlad was so much of a fruitloop - being confined to a bed for many years, and then not having anyone he could brawl with - left him badly lopsided. It turned out that regularly punching him in the face was good for the both of them. Left him less mad, and was very, very cathartic for Danny. Vlad these days was still a fruitloop, but tended to leave humans out of it, and just kidnap Danny for various jigsaw-ish traps - with given that Danny could use his powers, was more like a fun escape room than anything more dangerous.
So, back to the evening flight in Jump City. Danny had carefully talked around Titans tower. He said he would make sure that the heroes wouldn’t see him - well he was invisible, so they wouldn’t. But he did want to see how the other side live, as it were. He wanted to see what these teen heroes were doing. If they were getting support from adult heroes, as Danny had desperately needed when he started, and now, thankfully had - but only after going through a ton of stuff alone. Well, not alone, but certainly without adult help.
But mainly to see what the inside of the tower looked like. And maybe take some pictures for Sam and Tucker - to prove he’d been there.
As Danny approached the tower, he didn't see anyone through the window in what he assumed was the common area, the lights were dim, it looked like the heroes were all in bed. Bit early for teens to be in bed, but maybe they had a big fight today, not like he follows the news or anything. Danny double checked he had a tight grip on his invisibility, and phased through the window.
He flew around the common room, poked his head into the kitchen, and started drifting down the corridor. He didn't really care for the common area, though it was quite big, and he took a snap to show Sam and Tucker, but what he was really looking for was a control room type thing. A briefing room? A round table? He wasn't quite sure, something Hero-y. He drifted down the hall, and stopped.
What was with that door?
It was an automatic sliding door, but it was stuck - open. It can't have detected him - he was still intangible. There was no movement to detect, the air was going through him. Like there was an electrical fault? Huh - broken door  - fair enough, rough housing superheroes could defo break a door. Probably hadn't been fixed yet. He drifted through.
This level looked like bedrooms, probably some degree of privacy violation to peek, and he’s already entered without permission. Best leave that alone just in case, don't want to get an eyeful of something. Snooping in communal areas is fine. Like technically trespassing, but no-one really cares - looking in the bedroom is a lot weirder.
He phased down a couple of floors - Sick, training room. Taking photos for Tucker, man this place would make Dash weep with envy. Pretty much every fitness machine Danny had heard of, then like a dozen more. Big flat area in the middle for sparring? Probably. Most people can't just spar mid air afterall.
Danny jumped so much he went up to the floor above - that was a shout. Had someone seen him? No, his invisibility was still on. Now that he had noticed it, he could still hear the shouts, a few floors below - someone was having an argument. Best avoid that then.
Next was a sound of pain, unmistakable that was the sound someone made after being punched. Surely if it was a spar, that would stop now right? Except, Danny was on the gym floor. With the sparring area. And there was no-one there.
Danny drifted slightly closer to the sounds of what was now quite obviously a fight. Down a few levels, and his ghost sense went off. But then didn't. Like it started then changed its mind. Danny flew down to the fight entirely now - how on earth was a ghost in Jump City! He didn't even have a thermos on him, it was back in the hotel room. He was going to have to make a portal and yeet the ghost through! There was no way the heroes wouldn't notice a portal appearing in titans tower! This was going to completely blow his cover. Damn it!
Some Guy was wailing on some other guy. What? Danny doesn't know who these people are, for all he knows these guys both could be villains that broke in and then got in a disagreement. But the larger guy was setting off his ghost sense, and had glowing green eyes. And the smaller guy was definitely still a teen, so by process of elimination was probably one of the teen titans. Without thinking Danny lifted the phone he was holding and took a photo - the flash on the camera started the two into stopping for a moment.
Danny dropped his visibility and swooped in.
“And, time out. Ring ring ring, back to your corner meathead, he’s already down” He pulled the bigger guy away and pushed him back a few feet.
He got snarled at for his trouble - green glowing eyes, and angry to the point of non verbal. Overshadowed human maybe? Well, time for a real estate battle then. Danny phased into the big guy - he was an expert at kicking other ghosts out by now.
Except he couldn’t - because there was no ghost to kick out. The anger was all coming from the human - so a human full of ecto, and really cross about it, and trying to deal with it the way ghosts do - with a big fight. Except he’s fighting humans, who are nowhere near as durable as ghosts, so he’s just beating up a kid.
Ok - Danny is going to have to take over. He leans part way out of the guys, who roars again, and high fives the teen who just stood up.
“Tag, I'm in. I'll bring him back when he’s no longer incoherent with rage. Bye for now”
Danny then flew with the guy out through the side of the building to find a nice empty bit of land for a fight. He’d be back to the hotel late tonight, he hoped mom wasn't waiting up.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tim looked at the empty wall that Hood had just been kidnapped through.
“Did he just take a photo? That's My thing!”

Random DC/DP headcannons bc I can't sleep
Expect many typos
Danny hates storms, especially thunderstorms bc of the lighting cracking in the sky
Danny wears a power cuff like a bracelet that dampens his more violent powers bc he's scared of them (wail, large-scale ice like with undergrowth etc)
In one of his magazines, instead of bullets Jason keeps solid ectoplasm just in case, and so it's not conspicous
In his Phantom form Danny has a streak of black hair where his white usually is
Jason is fright knight (unless it's a Jason-Danny biologically related fic. Ghost Zone law says no one you share blood with (clones included) can become fright knight (but they can join the court and have other ranks))
Danny made a contingency plan against himself and with the help of a sibling (Cass most likely, though she did seem a bit sad) got it on the bat-computer. Password protected so Danny can't get into it. Bruce doesn't know and won't know until/if Danny goes bad. Bruce made a separate one for him.
Tim gets low and non-harmfil doses of ectoplasm in his coffee bc it is like a shit ton of caffeine for a living person. (Yes, some Amity Park drinks have ectoplasm in them too)
Danny asks Bruce, Tim and Lucius for help with Ghost King Shit TM
Duke has to squint when looking directly at ectoplasm (Danny's trying to find some solution but there isn't one)
Jason has a shadow core
Damian got extinct animals from Danny as a birthday gift multiple times (a dodo bird named Delilah, a messenger pigeon names Luke and a splendid posion frog named Ares)
To piss Bruce off, Jason got a pterodactyl he's named Flynn that he takes on patrol. Safe to safe, people get a hella more scared of Red Hood. Bruce hates it but Jason does actually love Flynn and Bruce can't bring himself to take Flynn awya
Danny made a patrol playlist for every member of the bat family and beyond bc he has one for when he goes out as Phantom (they all listen to their playlists and love them)
Before Danny was fully pulled into the family, he'd flinch at Dick's escrima sticks and still catches himself staring the weapon, his heart pounding
Danny found out Captain Marvel was a kid bc while on a mission with him, Captain Marvel pointed out that there was a pirate ship hovering above them and that Danny should probably deal with that. He'd, and any other Amity Parker that overhead, never laughed so badly in his entire life. Billy was never so scared & confused.
Bart and Danny are friends bc Dan had leveled most of the future before the Beatles took over what was left (I'm actually not that sure about Bart's backstory so feel free to correct me if something's wrong here)
Cass and Danny have staring contests alot. Sometimes the others think they've fallen asleep with their eyes open. They didn't.
Danny had a Twitter account for Phantom without Bruce knowing, but when Steph was trying to convince Bruce to let her have one she mentioned it and Danny had to delete it (he has an alt he now posts every embarrassing thing Batman does and has ever done)
Puns. So many puns between Dick & Danny.
Danny mumbles in his sleep
Crows flock to Danny like hungry tigers. Damian's envious but he gets to pet & feed them so it's mostly okay.
GW likes Jason and let's him borrow books whenever he wants to (also any destroyed book ends up with GW but that's a pretty common hc) but Jason has to swear not to give them to Danny. Not that Danny wants them.
Duke is helping Tucker out with studies and Tucker Duke with tech. Technus sometimes shows up too to help.
Johnny and Jason are dEAD bffs
Sam and Babs get on like a house on fire
Talia met Danny and they're actually friendly to each other. Sure, she's trying to trick Danny into giving her his throne, but Danny knew that and wasn't about to let that happen
Danny will randomly punch his siblings, smirk, then bow and say "my leige" and run away. The sibling now has the crown and is chasing to punch Danny back because honestly fuck that
Constantine is slightly terrified of Danny and Bruce uses it like a threat-- "John, if you don't answer, Danny will contact you." It works like a charm
When too excited, Danny and Jason will start talking in Ghost speech. It freaks everyone else but Damian and Cass out bc the same sounds came from the pits
Take, edit, have fun with whatever you want here. It's just bs that crawls around my brain for funsies and won't let me sleep.

Danny outlived his family, Vlad, and even Dani. In the effort to prevent himself from following the previous timeline of falling down a dark path. He travels, going all over the world to help people.
Since his time travel shenanigans, he is a legend to ancient civilizations and even a myth to others.
Stories change over time and can eventually die. As more heroes come to light, who grew up on hearing the legend of Phantom, Danny is having a hard time of staying, as many civilizations call him, a myth.
He retires, believing that the world is now in safe hands, and he can return to living life as a human.
Secrets kept him safe, and even as the Justice League forms, he still believes that it's safer for him and other residents of the afterlife to stay secret.
He still does small things that keeps his protection obsession at bay. Keeping the temperature low when it comes to blazing fires, slipping stolen items in open areas where they can be found, even dropping some information that's just subtle enough for some investigators.
Even with the years going by, he feels off. Contained, pressured, this overwhelming feeling of not belonging.  He's still human, well, half in his case. Truly half. His ghost side keeps him alive, simple as that.
His parents initial design of the proto portal had been modified and perfected. Working off his own ecto-energy that allows it to work. Allowing him to escape into the ghost zone whenever he's been human for just a smidge too long.
He's always gotta flip between the two.
Recently he's noticed, that whenever that feeling of not belonging appears he turns to the ghosts to calm down.
A Christmas truce one year, has Ember telling him that she herself gets like that sometimes. Socializing helps reign in that feeling.
Turning to Frostbite for more answers, he finds out that because of his halfa status he needs double the socialization. Some in his human form and in his ghost form.
During the spring, being reminded by the deaths of his family, he begins tracking down Jazz's descendants. Maybe he can be the family friend or even an uncle.
Starting to travel again, staying hidden in his Phantom form, he tracks his distant family down. It takes a few months, but he finds them.
The Wayne children reminds him of his friends and family. He can see each of their antics in them and can even sense the death. It's like he came home.
One or more of the Wayne children are descendants from Amity Parkers. Like maybe one is related to Paulina while another is related to Sam. Maybe three of the adopted children are the descendants of Sam, Tucker, and Jazz.
A bubbling feeling overwhelms him, and he has to leave, taking the moment to just breath in the city of Gotham.
These people are not his friends and family. This is not Amity Park.
Still, he looks back to the manor, and begins to look over the Wayne family.
Finding out that they are vigilantes was a moment of frustration but also pride. It ran in the family, in more ways than one, but they are helping those, protecting those that can't help themselves.
He keeps a closer eye on them. Particularly on Jason as the ecto-contamination is particularly high, he gets the barest sense from some of the others, but Jason's is on another level.
With Danny being in the living realm, his normal Rouge Gallery that had gotten to know the young kid start to grow concerned as he hadn't returned for his normal "session" of socializing.
They track him down and finding him in Gotham is when one of the vigilantes   get the chance to see Phantom and whoever he's talking with.
Then things snowball, researching what can be found.
Danny is fairly concerned that they're searching him out but can't blame them.
At some point, Pariah Dark is unsealed from the Sarcophagus. By a particular strong dark magic user that wants to kill him and absorb the life force of the Dark King.
Because the story of Phantom is ancient, there's not many resources nor knowledge of the reign of Pariah. Nor of GZ/IR ghosts in general. Rumors here and there but nothing substantial.
For some reason the ritual summoning works, and Pariah is unsealed. The ghosts flee to whatever portal is available, and suddenly the existence of ghosts is very real.
Then the JL get involved. Danny has to rise up as Phantom to figure out why they left the GZ/IR. Putting himself on the Batclan's radar which leads to many misunderstandings as he defends the ghosts from the vigilantes.
The batclan(s) that are descendants from the original Amity Parkers who grew up hearing stories of the famous hero of Amity, Phantom, is/are the one(s) that find him and calmly discuss the situation.
Through Batman, who is entirely on Phantom's side after getting all the information he can, go to JL to explain everything.
Some of the JL, like Diana, are shocked to find that Phantom is no myth. Others a skeptical, but with one call to JL Dark has them retrieving all information from all sides.
Danny has to enter the zone, carefully, to figure out the status. He finds the sarcophagus destroyed; the spell used leaves no way for Pariah to be placed down calmly.
Returning with no good news, it's one of the magic users that say that he just needs to end him permanently.
Danny doesn't take too kindly to that and is obviously unnerved.
Batman calms him down.
Perhaps time stops and Clockwork explains.
The Infinite realms needs a king to stay stable and prevent the two worlds from leaking into each other. While Pariah was sealed, he still held the title as king. Only a Champion, chosen by the Realms itself can end the dark king for good. Just more cryptic.
Time returns to normal with one question answered but many more follow. Danny relays the answers he got, which those that don't know of him are not trusting him. Still Batman and Diana defend him.
Due to the threat of a skeleton army, Danny takes his parents blueprints and starts to produce weapons that the JL and YJ can use. They're on a time limit.
Batman can tell that he's overwhelmed and takes him back to the cave to calm him down. The rest of the Batclan show to give him support, some family bonding happens.
Jason is in the cave when Danny finds out that he's the Champion, some of his titles from previous allies come crashing back. Danny has to be the one to end Pariah's existence. One panic attack later about the thought of taking a life, though not a true "living" life, he still believes that it'll take him down the dark path.
Carefully, and slowly, he explains this alternate timeline and what happened to Jason, who had been the one to calm him down. Jason absolutely tells him what he needs to hear, it helps but there's still that anxiety.
One nasty fight later, Danny ends Pariah and gains the new title of King. He does not want it, but reluctantly accepts it.
He now has allies all over that will be happy to help and a new kingdom he still doesn't want to rule over.
Danny and the Batclan return to the manor and relax, they deserve it.
Finally, they get the full story on why he was in Gotham, why he didn't reach out to the league sooner, and he shares stories about their ancestors.
---
Finally caught up on all the prompts, this shall be the last one...for now. There are a few on my FF profile from my Arrow phase, might do them too. Might also look into more of the magic and mystic stuff of DC to see if there’s a way to connect back to DP.
I need to get back and work on Superphantom series LOGA.
Three original stories that are potential books.
The POTC Fic of OC Raven (HC Jack has a daughter) that ran off into an unknown plot.

Ghost Corps!
"Ghost Corps" is the name of a Danny Phantom au I made where the portal exploded when Danny turned it on. The explosion made a permanent portal in the center of town. It also affected the people of Amity Park within a certain radius and made them more ghostly, though not full half-ghosts like Danny (we'll get to him in a moment). The closer people were when it exploded, the most ghostly they are, so Tucker, Sam, and Jazz are the strongest because they were all in Fenton Works when it happened.
Unfortunately, a massive explosion creating a bunch of ghostly people around a hole punched between realities caused the US military to freak out, so they implemented martial law on Amity Park and all the people affected by the portal. They tried to destroy the portal but only ended up destroying the buildings and in fact made the portal bigger. Two ghost armies, one led by Pariah Dark and the other by Plasmius, start attacking each other for control of the portal and their battle leaks into Amity Park.
With a bunch of ghosts attacking and a bunch of angry (and powerful) ghostly people, the military decided to create the "Ghost Corps," a special unit made of people from Amity Park who defend the world from ghost invasions. The rest of Amity Park lives inside an exclusion zone and works to support the military industrial complex that keeps the ghosts at bay.
Jack and Maddie got in a lot of trouble with the military for causing the initial explosion, so Jazz, Sam, and Tucker enlisted in the Ghost Corps in order to protect them and Danny. They live in an isolated compound where they make weapons for the military as part of a deal to keep them out of jail. Danny lives with them.
Danny didn't join the Ghost Corps because this is a split!Danny au, where his ghost half is stuck in the Ghost Zone on the other side of the war going on. He's the same person in two bodies, which makes it difficult for him to function on his own and is why he lives with his parents. His ghost half is involved in a resistance movement in the Zone, so he spends most of his time focusing there.
In the time of the fic, it's been 8 years and Jazz is a lieutenant in charge of the Ghost Intelligence unit, along with Sam and Tucker. The three of them lead their own resistance movement to free Amity Parkers from the authoritarian military they live under. Unfortunately, they have to stop the battle going on between Pariah Dark and Plasmius or find a way to close the portal. Danny acts as a way to communicate between the two resistance movements, since their goals to stop the war align.
The fic starts out with Jazz, Sam, and Valerie going on a mission to retrieve Danny's ghost half for *~*reasons*~* and kick off a plan they've developed to hopefully end the war and free Amity Park.
It's an idea I like, but it was far too ambitious for me to attempt at this point in my life and so I dropped out of the bang and put it on the back burner. I'd like to bring it back someday, but that time is TBD.

Ectoberweek 2023 day 26- Students start to go missing. At the same time, the Guys in White go quiet. TW- kidnappings mentioned summary- Amity Parkers have always been strange, especially after the portal. But everything was fine. At least until kids started to go missing.
ao3 masterlist
Amity had always been strange, and after the portal the young people especially so.
It had started small, some people’s eyes would glow, others would have fangs or pointed ears. But then some had started to develop some low level powers.
The Hanaby twins developed telepathy, but just between themselves. The Rosin girl became able to eat anything without detriment to her body. Her parents discord this when they found their three year old daughter eating gravel in their driveway. There was a kid who glowed. One who had an extra pair of arms, while another grew small horns. And after Pariah Dark where they were all sucked temporarily into the Zone, more powers began to develop in the youth. A boy woke up floating above his bed. A baby was born with an extra pair of arms. Thankfully it was a home birth, and the midwife was an Amity resident. Paulina developed immunity to fire, Dash super strength, Kwan small force fields, Star invisibility, and Mikey basic clairvoyance.
There were a few who were notably more powerful. The Manson girl was said to be able to control plants, and the Foley boy had a form of technomancy.
But the Fentons… The Fenton girl was said to have enhanced empathy and the ability to manipulate emotions along with the power of suggestion. And the Fenton boy had the basic ghost abilities along with a sonic scream. No one had ever heard it, but there were rumors that he had helped Phantom defeat Pariah Dark.
But because of all the ecto-contamination the GIW had been prevalent in Amity. Thankfully, the Fenton adults had finally changed their minds about ghosts when it was their own kids who were now counted as permanently ecto-contaminated. And since the Amity Parkers and their own powers now, and those who didn’t were more than willing to help fight to protect their kids, they were able to drive the GIW out.
The GIW had only been quiet for about a month, before the first kid went missing.
EVeryone had been worried of course, but they hoped that the kid had just gone with friends or was exploring the woods. The child had impenetrable skin, so he should be okay for a while. But when one day turned into two that quickly became a week. The whole town was searching. But there was no trace of the boy. Those with x-ray vision didn’t see him in the woods, and those with psychometry (the ability to discern things by touching an object) couldn’t find anything either.
And then the second child went missing. The town went to the individuals with clairvoyance, but they admitted that they had seen nothing and that their abilities felt blocked. This led to further investigation where it was discovered that most individuals with abilities felt weaker.
There was obviously something wrong. But no one could find any answers. The town was in an uproar. Some families tried to leave, only to find that each time they approached the border they’d forget what they were doing and turn around and go back home.
And kids kept disappearing.

If you're doing writing requests, could you do something in Marvel Zombies where Danny, Dani and Vlad are immune and protecting New Wakanda when the zombies return, with Danny having a massive hatred of Spidey because he ate Danny's family?
"What are we going to do?" Dani cried. Danny could only look at her, for once in his life not having the answers he needed. Because he didn't know what they were going to do.Ever since the outbreak everything has gone to shit. Nobody really knows who started it, or when, really, but it progessively got worse each week. Eventually it became an all out massacre across the planet, the only safe place being Wakanda since they were so closed off from the outside world. But everything has changed. He knew Thing had control of the subways in most of New York, and Wolverine had a nice chunk of Japan to call his own. He knew that Dani, Vlad, and himself somehow had immunity from the zombie virus, and he knew they had to protect Wakanda. They were already working on a cure as fast as they could, but with only a few samples it was hard. After all, they didn't want to cause contamination in the pristine city."Danny?" Dani asked, looking up at him. Her big green eyes were full of fear as they watched the line of zombies slowly head their way. The fog covered a good portion of them, but from the looks of it there were hundreds. And most of them he used to know. Like Captain America of to the side, Beast right behind him. Deadpool was there too, but no matter how Danny divided up his body he wouldn't stay dead. Undead. Whatever. but he had buried the pieces last time, and he couldn't help the disappointment that came with knowing that it hadn't slowed down the mercenary at all. Right beside him was Danny's old friend, Spider-Man.Danny's chest tightened as he saw the web slinger. They had quickly become friends, and had a sort of special bond, but then Spidey had been turned. They were in Amity when it happened. Danny went to go fight off a ghost and Spider-Man...Well, let's just say Danny was really disappointed when he came back after Danny blasted him full of ectoplasm. The image of his family's half eaten-bodies was forever seared into his brain, and zombie or not, he would never forgive Spider-Man for that.Danny tore his eyes away from the hoard of monsters coming for them and looked behind him, down at New Wakanda. It was the same as it had always been-high tech and peaceful. But these people were about to experience hell if the halfas failed. Vlad crossed his arms and huffed."I don't see why we have to do anything about it," he said."You're immune. You're helping," Danny told him, leaving no room for discussion. While Vlad didn't like being bossed around by a bratty teenager, he knew Danny was right. After all, his business was garbage now that everyone was zombies. If there was a chance to save it, it would be by saving these people. He huffed again."We're gonna fight," Danny finally said, looking back to his clone. "Us three are some of the most powerful being in the world-hell maybe even the universe. If anybody is gonna stop them it's us. So let's do it.""Do you have a plan?" Vlad questioned. His previous annoyance had disappeared, now left only with the desire to finish the mission, and do what Daniel had failed to do-take care of the monster that ate his beloved Maddie. Permanently."Daniel," he said in a cool voice. A testament to his controlled anger. "What affect would your ice powers have on this filth?"Danny shrugged and looked down at his hands. "I don't know. But it could be worth a shot?""At this point anything is worth a shot," Dani replied, her own hands starting to glow with her ice powers. Vlad frowned, muttering about something about getting the short end of the stick."Whatever, Fruitloop," Danny said, flying up a little higher. "We have zombies to end."With that he zoomed forward, knowing that Dani and Vlad were right behind him. The air hittig his face was comforting, covering his body like a cold blanket and offering a sense of security. Danny cherished the few moments he had with it, because in just a moment it would be gone. Possibly forever."Dani, help me create an ice wall!" he shouted. "Vlad, hold them back until we get them surrounded!"Vlad nodded as Danny and Dani dove towards the ground, building the thick ice wall up and around the mass of monsters while Vlad kept them at bay. They were immune to the virus after all, not injury itself. Thankfully with their speed they were able to form the wall in a resonable amount of time. It was large, miles all around, but it seems as though none of the zombies were able to get out, and really that was the goal. If they contained these things before they even got close to Wakanda then already they were ahead of the game. It was a nice change of pace after being behind for so long.Danny gave a happy sigh, but the moment didn't last nearly as long as he would have liked. Some of the zombies were able to fly, or crawl on any surface like a certain wall crawler Danny had a newfound hate for. It wasn't hard to spot him. Since he became a zombie he had become more of a man-spider than a spider-man. He had mutated into something else entirely, with eight large, red eyes and two extra sets of arms coming through the rags of what once was his costume. He climbed with a terrifying speed, but Danny was quicker. He blasted Parker down, trying not to get bit as he did so. He had been bit before, and it had hurt like a sonofabitch, and he would rather not repeat that. He blasted him again, this time with ice. But the monster dogded it and jumped up to swipe at Danny. He had to fly up to be out of reach. Danny growled and shot another ice blast, this time spearing what was once Spider-Man through the chest, forcing the ice to spread over the writhing figure until it was completely encased and unable to move.Ghost ice was unbreakable, so maybe it would isolate them long anough to find a cure, or for them to rip each other apart. Whichever one came first. But one thing was for certain-Spider-Man was not walking away from that one.Danny panted as he wiped the sweat from his brow as he flew higher so he could help Dani with a zombie Iron Man as Vlad blasted the zombies like fish in a barrel, trying to prevent more of them from coming out. They needed to build a ceiling and fast, or else these guys would all get loose and tear Wakanda apart.Danny growled as he made a spear of ice. It wasn`t anything fancy, really. In fact, it was more barbaric than anything, but it managed to get the job done. He was surprised Dani didn't flinch when the tip of the spear came through Tony's chest, right through the dead arc reactor burried in his chest. He pulled the spear out and let Iron Man drop like a stone, only to be eaten up by their former friends."We need to build a roof, not just a wall," Danny said. Dani nodded an got to work, making it large and stable and unbreakable. They would have to make another layer of thick ice once everyone was trapped inside."Gah!" Vlad cried out, reaching for the hands around his throat from the zombie piggy-backing him. It was the zombie of Nightcrawler, hissing and unhinging his jaw to eat Vlad up. Danny and Dani both growled as they blasted the mutant off of Vlad so he could continue to shoot them down. This was pobably the ony time Danny wished Vlad had more powers, like ice. Or fire. He's pretty sure fire would maybe work. All of the non-flyers were quickly stacking on top of each other, fighting to get to the top and over the edge. Vlad blasted them down, and Danny and Dani made the walls higher, eventually curving them. This went on long enough for the afternoon to turn into a muggy evening with a beating orange sunset and into the cool African night where they worked mostly by moonlight and ectoenergy lighting up their path, and eventually into morning again. It seemed wrong for their to be a morning this nice looking when the world has gone to shit, but it still managed to give Danny a small nugget of hope in his chest as he and Dani were finally able to close the dome. Then they silently added two more thick layers of ice, making it stronger than even Fort Smith. Those zombies were locked down and never getting out unless they were able to find some sort of cure.-—-Danny wished the Wakandans didn't cheer for them as they floated in front of the large crowd in the middle of the city. Yes, they saved the day, but only temporarily, and only for this small, insignificant part of the world. But it was a start. Slowly but surely they'd find a cure, and slowly but surely the world would be saved. Danny held onto that small nugget of hope as he looked to the rising sun.He had to do this. For his parents. For Sam and Tucker and Jazz. For all of his super friends that he's lost to this. He needed to do this. The cheeing didn't make the lead in his stomach any lighter as he and the others flew off to go offer ther services to the rest of the world. If anything the weight got heavier.—--------How dare you make me wrote Danny hating Spider-Man. How dare you make me have one half of my otp kill the other. Im mot crying its just eyeball sweat. (It was really fun to write. Also I'm sorry for the lateness, I started it and then the next day started writing a full length fic instead of finishing this so... yeah. I hope you enjoyed it though!)

What do you mean by twins?
Star and Stephanie are twins. They were raised quite normally, until their father was revealed on the news to be a villain and not just a normal prisoner. Although their mother was aware of it, the rest of the city was not, and suddenly her daughters were in danger.
The families of those Cluemaster had attacked became enraged and sought revenge on those closest to him: his family. Unfortunately, their mother could not take care of both of them and when the press revealed the identity of one of the twins, she made a risky decision.
She asked her brother to take care of Star, to hide her, and she stayed with Stephanie. They were both too young to remember, and over the years they lost touch. The twins' mother did not want to risk her brother who was now living in Amity Park. So she didn't call frequently.
On one occasion where a football match between Amity and Gotham was held, Star participated as a cheerleader. Not noticing Stephanie's frightened look from the stands. Had someone cloned her? Why?
The bat family got paranoid and tried to initiate contact with "the clone" to get a sample, but the Amity Parkers were too cautious. And the bats swore they felt eyes on the back of their necks every time they tried to get close.
Of course, the Amity Parkers wouldn't let them get close, which made the vigilantes even more frustrated. The worst part is that it was all a misunderstanding, but that didn't stop the battle between the two sides.

The Incredible Jessica James Life
New Post has been published on https://mediafocus.biz/the-incredible-jessica-james-life/
The Incredible Jessica James Life
Tumblr media
or a brand promoted because the last in couch-cuddling enjoyment, Netflix’s authentic films, but considerate and rewarding, don’t have a tendency to be utterly entertainment-orientated or cross that properly with a bucket of home made popcorn. Up on the streaming carrier due to the fact Friday, The Incredible Jessica James is a breezy exception: a candy, spry, Sundance-stamped romantic comedy that rewrites no guidelines of the style, however, gets its blithe freshness from the sparky, self-effacing famous person excellent of one Jessica Williams.
A 27-12 months-antique comedian and Daily Show correspondent gave adequate room to breathe, riff and roar via director Jim Strouse’s script, Williams bounds into the court cases with unfiltered comedian peculiarity as a New York playwright poring over the fragments of her dating lifestyles. We’re in the gangly televisual terrain of Issa Rae and Lena Dunham here, however, Williams’s personality is disarming totally on its own terms. The equally off-piste Chris O’Dowd is her not going love hobby, and their combined skew-whiff charm makes a sunny pride of this loose, lightly plotted ramble.
It’s the week’s most constantly fun film, which isn’t to write off the inconsistent pleasures of Life (Sony, 15), a disastrously nameless identity for an icily crafted Alien knock-off that delivers most effectively while it forgets to feign classiness. The lifestyles in the query are more powerful than it is precious: on the International Space Station, an unearthly, by accident received organism grows and makes its grisly presence felt, placing its attractions at the way the human crew of Jake Gyllenhaal and friends. As long because the movie sticks to this simple suspense system, it rattles ickily along; while it shoots for a greater philosophical justification of its name, the air runs out
Subtle games of uncanny risk are at play in Neither Heaven Nor Earth (Thunderbird, 12), yet some other solemn report from the Afghanistan front line, but given a nippy, teasing spin by French director Clément Cogitore that situates the action very much inside the twilight war zone. The ever-sturdy Jérémie Renier is the navy captain whose men start silently vanishing one by one; solutions aren’t exactly coming near, however, Cogitore nevertheless maintains the anxiety at a cryptic simmer.
Also to be filed underneath eerie oddities: Robin Swicord’s Wakefield (Signature, 15), an intelligently aloof EL Doctorow adaptation that offers Bryan Cranston his maximum exciting movie show off to date. As a properly-heeled suburban drone who makes a decision, pretty inscrutable, to drop out of lifestyles altogether, hiding from his oblivious spouse (a first-rate Jennifer Garner) and youngsters in his personal attic, Cranston’s creased Everyman gravitas have to quietly sketch in much of the literary psychological shading right here. He’s as much as the mission; the film around him frays and tangles to frustrating effect, but it receives in your head and remains there.
That can’t be said for a number of this week’s throw away releases: The Boss Baby (Fox, U), a smarmy, plastic cartoon that deals out its unmarried shaggy dog story within the title, which may additionally nonetheless be sufficient to tackle Elementary preschoolers; The Time of Their Lives (Universal, 12), a low-hire Best Exotic Bungalow that pits Joan Collins in opposition to Pauline Collins, as though that’s a remotely fair combat; or Table 19 (Fox, 12), a strained wedding ceremony-party farce that sputters to lifestyles best whilst we’re seated among Lisa Kudrow and Craig Robinson.
A gentle diversion with some staying power is Handsome Devil (Icon, 15), a kind-hearted, scruffily witty coming-out-and-of-age have a look at set inside the forbidding environs of a rugby-fixated Irish boarding faculty. John Butler’s debut sticks a chunk rigidly to quirky school room components but is limber and sincere wherein it counts, with lovely, supportive-in-all-senses work from Andrew Scott as a sympathetic teacher. Pair it with the glowingly reissued Peppermint Soda (BFI, 12) for an affection-drenched rites-of-passage double bill. Now forty years antique, Diane Kurys’s autobiographical image of French adolescent ladies fumbling towards self-possession inside the early 60s hasn’t misplaced any of its crisp, droll perception or smooth, painful empathy. It’s not as if developing up has got any less difficult in the intervening decades, in the end.
Indian Influences – Origin of Equality
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Native Lesson in Democracy: Rarely will one witness an essential scholar stand in the front of his or her classmates and credit score Native American effect inside the founding beliefs of our government or charter. Why must any scholar do such, while our curriculums definitely forget about historic truths of Indian Influences on the way to protect our “comfort” in knowing our white forefathers and their superb imaginative and prescient was born of white experience and training, and actually no longer of observations of Native American societies and ideas. After all, categorization of Indian Peoples inside the Euro-American world become that of inferior and uneducated populations, with nothing greater to provide a younger United States than lands, or so this is what maximum Americans learn today.
And yet, democratic governments have been now not a carryover from Europe, and nothing greater than a Greek hypothetical that our knowledgeable forefathers most effective examine about, in other phrases, a fairy tale. It turned into Native American groups, the maximum well-known being the Iroquois, who certainly provided a working towards a version of democracy for Europeans seeking out the illustration in government, social energy, and equality.
“It could be a very strange aspect if six nations of ignorant savages need to be able t form a scheme for one of these units and be able to execute it in one of these ways because it has subsisted for a long time and appears indissoluble and yet a like union should be impractical for ten or a dozen English colonies (1).” – Benjamin Franklin to James Parker, 1751.
It changed into the Iroquois who exemplified democracy at its greatest: a democracy created before European touch, a democracy with representation and structures of voting, a democracy with exams and balances, a democracy that practiced normal human rights and autonomy for all along with girls, and even adopted captives. Our Forefathers needed to appearance no similarly than their Native neighbors to witness a civilized authority that spoke back the wishes of colonists bored with Monarchy.
“Our smart forefathers hooked up union and amity between the Five Nations.” “We are an effective Confederacy, and by means of your watching the identical techniques our sensible forefathers have taken, you will collect plenty strength and energy; consequently, anything befalls you, do no longer fall out with one another (2).” -Canassatego (Iroquois Spokesman to Colonist Delegates at Lancaster PA, 1744.)
“…The recommendation that becomes given approximately thirty years ago by your wise forefathers, in a remarkable Council that was held at Lancaster, in Pennsylvania, while Canassatego spoke to us, the white humans…” “Brothers, our forefathers rejoiced to listen Canassatego communicate those words. They sank deep into our hearts. The recommendation turned into good. It became kind. They stated to each other: The Six Nations are a sensible human beings. Let us hearken to them, and take they’re recommend, and teach our children to observe it…(three)” -Colonial Commissioner to Iroquois Leaders in Philadelphia, 1775.
