(gotta keep that Taylor Swift theme)
Anthony Lockwood x f!reader
Content: Angst? Fluff? Touched starved Lockwood
Warnings: Mention of blood and wounds, also some curse words (I think)
Characters: Anthony Lockwood and (y/n) Kipps. (Lucy Carlyle and Quill Kipps also appear)
Word count: 1.083
A/N: Exactly two people told me to post it, and that was enough (I'm literally about to enter to an online class while typing this). Chronology speaking, this goes BEFORE their first kiss but I'm a dumbass and forgot to post this one first, hope you like it
(I'll attach their first kiss here)
“Where were you?” Quill asked, seeing both Lockwood and (y/n) walk in with dirt on their faces and hair. As soon as he spoke, his sister’s face told him to not speak, unless he wanted to die.
“We’re fine!” (y/n) said, grabbing Lockwood by the arm and walking to the kitchen.
“You guys don’t look-” Lucy started, but the slamming of the door cut her off.
“Sit”
“I’m not your dog”
“And I don’t care” (y/n) said, pointing at the kitchen chair “sit down”
Lockwood did as she said, even though he didn’t want to. (y/n) started taking out items from the first aid kit, slamming them on the table as she cursed.
“I cannot fucking believe you” she said “seriously, why is it so hard for you to take care of yourself while we’re out on a case?” (y/n) asked, soaking a small piece of cotton with disinfectant. She grabbed Lockwood’s arm, forcefully moving the sleeve of his dress shirt up to see his cut better.
“(y/n) I-” Lockwood started, hissing when the cotton made contact with the cut on his arm.
“This might hurt” (y/n) said, after hearing him hissing, a smirk on her face.
“Okay” Lockwood said “I deserved that”
“You deserve more” (y/n) said “actually, you don’t even deserve me doing this for you, should I just tell my brother to do it, so you suffer a bit more?” she questioned, sarcasm all over her voice.
“(y/n)-”
“You know, when Luce told me you were reckless, I thought 'well, he's certainly not stupid' guess I was wrong!” she grabbed one of the big band aids and covered his cut.
“(y/n) I’m sorry, okay?” he said “this wasn’t reckless, I had a plan, it just didn’t work”
“Wow, what a surprise”
“I didn’t know the golden blade was gonna be there!”
“The what?” (y/n) stood up, forgetting about his other cuts.
“Last year we encountered him” Lockwood explained “we think he somehow works for Penelope Fittes-”
“My boss?”
“Yes” Lockwood nodded “he tried to steal the bone glass from Lucy and I” he explained “he’s also the one who shot me” he grabbed her hand “you have to believe me”
(y/n) looked at his eyes, processing what he had said in silence, enough to make Lockwood panic, the hold on her hand tightening.
“I… I believe you” she said, sitting back down. She wasn’t gonna lie, she always felt a weird vibe from the woman, or the entire agency for that matter. And she didn’t think Lockwood would lie to her.
He sighed in relief “Thank you (y/n)-”
“What I also believe” she started, letting go of his hand and grabbing a new cotton piece “is that your other cuts need to be taken care of” she said “specially this one” she tapped slightly the cut on his forehead, making him hiss again “I thought you were good at fencing?”
“I am” Lockwood shot back “I was just… surprised”
“Your blood says otherwise” (y/n) replied “now, lean closer so I can help”
Lockwood only nodded and whispered a small ‘yes’, letting her do the work and leaning closer as she instructed. As she leaned in, she quickly realized how her back was going to kill her if she did that, so she grabbed her chair and dragged it a bit closer to his, eventually ending up with her thigh in the middle of his thighs.
Lockwood chuckled “you might as well sit on my lap if you-”
“Shut up or I’ll do it” she cut him off with a smile.
He smirked “be my guest”
She ignored him, grabbing the back of his head to steady it as she disinfected the cut across his forehead. She was focused, focused on cleaning the blood and figuring out which bandage to use, but Lockwood’s wandering hands on her knee were distracting her.
It started with his fingers, slowly tapping her knee, barely noticeable, and she wouldn’t have known if he hadn’t kept going at it. His fingers slid across her knee and (y/n) made her best to ignore it, but as she stood up to change the cotton piece, he pushed her leg open, causing her to fall on his lap.
“That’s better” he said, smirk on his lips again.
“Lockwood-”
“Please” he said, voice so quiet she barely heard him.
She looked at his eyes, and for one moment she saw his mask crack. His dark circles and clenched jaw showed her how tired and stressed he was. She couldn’t even imagine how much his muscles ached after the fight, let alone the throbbing of the multiple cuts on his skin.
“Fine” she whispered, not trusting her own voice with the feeling of his hands on her waist.
She kept doing her thing in silence and he just watched her, tracing small circles on her sides with his thumbs. (y/n) just wanted to close her eyes and enjoy it, enjoy his touch on her skin and wish she could feel it for longer, to forget about the case, the fight, everything. She wanted to focus on him and him only.
“There” she said, breaking whatever spell was between them. She grabbed his chin, angling his face to admire the, now taken care of, cut “you’ll live”
He chuckled, smiling truthfully for the first time that night, or since (y/n) knew him, she didn’t care. She liked the small glow on his face.
They locked eyes, the blanket of silence settling on them again. (y/n)’s fingers slid across his chin towards his jaw, making him close his eyes and just enjoy her touch. His hands started moving up her waist, slowly, also making her want to close her eyes and enjoy, but she still leaned forward, closer and closer to him.
He felt it, the weight shift on his lap, some of her curly locks tickling his shoulders.
She could feel their lips almost touching.
The door opened, making her open her eyes wide and snap her neck so hard she wondered if this is how she was going to die. That would be better than the image she saw.
Both Lucy and her brother were standing at the doorstep. (y/n) stumbled off Lockwood’s lap, feeling his hands fly away from her and almost fell. Chair and all.
She gripped the thinking cloth “I was tending his cut” she stupidly said.
She could feel how Quill resisted the urge to pinch the bridge of his nose as she looked at him.
“You sure were”

A/N: I feel like this scene and the other one are pretty similar, so if I do write the fanfic I'll change it, but let me know what you think! (Again, be nice)

My Roman Empire is the fact that people often subconsciously judge a woman by her worst moment and a man by his best. And when you point that out to people they go, “you just making excuses cuz she’s a woman.” Like no … you’re the one saying omg he’s such a good man bc he showed ✨ tremendous guilt ✨ for all the fucked up manipulative shit he’s done but the woman is a heartless psycho even though she’d actively saved people, spared people’s lives, resisted when she was asked to put people in harms’ way, was forced to do all the dirty work for her male comrade who was busy having fun with his victims and pretending to be their friends. She was the one who called Reiner out after he said he wouldn’t blink an eye to kill everyone in 104th cadet bc they’re all devils anyways… she was like “I thought they were ur friends? sorry but you’re disgusting”. And yet SHE’s the psycho?
“BUT - but she said she’s do it all over again”wayyy to take a line out of context lmao it’s almost like she also admitted she has committed irredeemable crimes all to see her dad again. Remorse and regret are two very different things … just bc someone hasn’t tried to unal1ve themselves doesn’t mean they feel no remorse. Annie was crying every time after she had to hurt the people she’d grown to care abt, like w Marco, after her two failed missions, etc. Also not to mention the recurring Marco nightmares. If she was a man y’all would eat this shi up. “Poor Anthony … he just wanted to see his dad. He deserved so much better :(( “
Annie’s numerous acts of kindness and compassion towards others, which can be found throughout the whole show and the OVA’s, are conveniently ignored by those who find it easier to dehumanize her and undermine the complexity of her character. Reiner too is a victim of his circumstances and did redeem himself in my opinion, but it’s the double standards that always get me. The point of the story is that EVERYONE suffers as a result of the cycle of violence. It’s not “this character did no wrong, that character’s the worst”, it’s “most of us end up becoming perpetuators AND victims because of the system”.
Ok end of essay

Richard Gunningworth: *ignores Sophie for years, barely acknowledges her existence, makes her feel unloved, gets married without considering Sophie, does nothing to defend her against his wife’s abuse, doesn’t take the proper measures to secure her future if he dies*
The Bton fandom: “I think Sophie’s father really loved her. He must have been in love with her mother. Yes! It was forbidden love! Poor baby, he ignored Sophie because it was too painful to see her.”
Violet: *loses the love of her life when she was 8 months pregnant, suffers depression, has a traumatic birth, suffers post-partum depression, recovers and dedicates her life to raise her children and makes sure her children live a HEA*
The Bton Fandom: “what a horrible mother, she should have been there for Anthony. She’s an absent mother! She’s the worst.”
Make it make sense.
If Violet would have died and Edmund would have crumbled, everyone would have made excuses for him. Stop acting as if Anthony raised those children alone. Violet was depressed for a while, but then SHE raised them. And before Edmund died, they were loving and involved parents.
People forget too easily all the damage Richard did to Sophie.
Let's just recap all the shitty things he did in the book.
He abused his power as a wealthy heir to take advantage of a poor maid.
He left said maid alone, even when he knew there was a possibility of getting her pregnant. And yes, we don't know why she left, but if he cared he would have done something.
He let Sophie live with him because he had to. The book is clear in that he is not happy about her arrival and decides to treat her as a ward. Now, yes, this technically gave Sophie many opprtunities, but he only did it to safe his reputation. He made her pay for his mistakes.
He abandoned her in the country while he spent most of the year in London doing who knows what. Sophie grew up completely alone, except the servants. She had no friends ebcause everyone knew she was an illegitimate child.
When he is in the country, he barely spent time with her. Although I believe he asked for reports from the governess and knew she could be an accomplished woman.
He married Araminta without ever considering Sophie. If he cared about Sophie, he would have mentioned her to Araminta before proposing to her. No loving father would have made any decision without making sure that his new wife treated his daughter with respect. In fact, Araminta was treated as a fool here too, cause she deserved to know. As horrible as she was, she deserved to know Sophie existed, and the fact that Richard didn't think it important to tell her shows how privileged and horrible he was.He was a very wealthy earl, he could have had anyone. He was only 36 years old and if Sophie looked like him, he should have been handsome.
When he presented to the whole staff, he totally forgot about Sophie. He wasn't even planning on making a formal presentation!!! That scene breaks my heart cause Sophie beams when he tells her he didn’t see her. Like how despicable you have to be to make her feel like she’s forgetable and more insignificant than a scullery maid. Let’s not pretend that this messed up with Sophie’s self-esteem.
He didn’t take measures to protect Sophie’s dowry. He left her money... and then what? There were no further instructions on what to do with her. Did he plan to arrange a marriage? How could he have trusted Sophie’s only opportunity for a good life to a woman who hated her?!?!?!?! An ambitious woman who only cared about money and status.
He was aware of Araminta’s treatment towards Sophie and he allowed it. As horrible as Araminta was, the only reason why that woman came near Sophie was Richard. And Sophie knew it.
I know the dowry was extremely important to Sophie, and it does prove that he acknowledge her existence and his responsibility. But honestly, it wasn’t enough. Even if he was already thinking about a future for Sophie where he dies, he could have been more specific in the will. Or, he could have left instructions to his lawyer. What if Sophie didn’t find a husband? Could she have gotten access to the money? I do believe he would have searched for a decent man, but I don’t think he planned a HEA for Sophie, merely a man willing to overlook her illegitimacy. I don’t think they would have had contact once Sophie got married.
And frankly, the fact that people tend to brush off his conduct and abuse and just focus on Araminta pisses me off. Men really can get away with everything.
NEGLECT IS ABUSE!!!!!!
Richard made Sophie carry all the weight of his crimes. He went on being an earl in London and being wealthy and influential. Sophie couldn’t have done anything, she was just a child. The servants didn’t have the power to defend her either. And then Benedict came and he tried to do the same. He wanted her to carry with all the shame of being a mistress while he continued with his life. But this time Sophie could say no and forced Benedict to make sacrifices.

✰ i want the devil tonight: when natasha's latest mission is to identify all of the vigilantes in new york, she shows you the file she has on your boyfriend so you can tell him about it, warn him. little did she know, the sight of matt in his old suit would awaken something deep inside you: a visceral attraction you couldn't quite contain. and you were definitely going to do something about it. (part 1) (part 2)
✰ i loved the present and i love you: your birthday isn't your favorite holiday. damn, you don't even celebrate it properly and you weren't precisely looking forward to it. however, this year you have Matt and he won't let it go unnoticed. at least you will notice.
✰ delicate: matt's midnight visits to your apartment aren't rare, so you never question them. sometimes, he wants his favorite unpaid surgeon to patch him up and do the stitches; other times, he wants your touch, your loving, your attention, and affection. now, after willingly losing his friends to his reckless fears and the terrible-friend reputation of his, he only has you: someone who likes him for him.

❁ tell me what are my words worth (series): while the other ladies have grown with the mindset of marrying and having children, you, as the daughter of a man who wanted a son, grew up being both. you learnt how to embroider, play the pianoforte, fence and manage the estate. however, there were some things that not even the duke of burgundy could do, so after he passed and you thought there was nothing left for you, you decided to move to london for a while and go to the royal academy of art. nothing was going to keep you from what you wanted, and you would do whatever it takes: you would lie to everyone, you would live to death, you would pretend to be a man. you had a plan and it would be a piece of cake for you. but again, when has something that she wants and should not do easy for a woman? especially when a man like benedict bridgerton gets in the way in more ways than one.
❁ gold rush (mini series): you have loved benedict bridgerton since you first met him, but after anthony married, he became the ton's favorite bridgerton, and now that everybody wants him, you realized you don't like a gold rush. (part 1) (part 2) (part 3) (part 4) (part 5)
❁ these colors fade for you only: one thing worse than seeing your enemy often was living under the same roof, certainly, and you and benedict suffered from that unfortunate condition. not even the eleven years you've slept separated by a thin wall only helped you overcome that hatred, you would always hate each other. or not really, because it's too definite to say something as such when a few hours could change the meaning of until the end of time.
anthony bridgerton
Tumblr media
❁ tarnished but so grand: you, your mother, and younger sisters were left to your own devices after your father's death with no one to take care or provide for you. thankfully, high society's ties were always useful, and you got an interview with none other than viscount anthony bridgerton for the job of his sister's governess. and yes, he could have expected about anything except to fall for you in such invasive, magnificently cursed manner when he was supposed to be looking for his very own wife. Ooo surely Tom Dorset makes an appearance in the florist tattooist au and he’s literally the epitome of what Kate is looking for. I can imagine Anthony B isn’t a fan of him because of it
Oh absolutely.
Anthony stares at the guy who comes to bring Kate her lunch a few times as he stands outside his shop, drinking his coffee.
He takes in the guy’s square jaw and his stupid polo shirt and his chinos and Anthony fucking hates him.
For absolutely no reason Anthony hates that man. Except there is a reason. Tom could give Kate everything she wants, and he’d be willing to offer it. Anthony knows Tom’s probably a better man than he is. He doesn’t seem like he’s fucked up and terrified to start living his life, terrified anything other than the hollow way he’d already been would be a disappointment to everyone.
He’d disappoint Kate eventually. Anthony knows he would. Even if he could work up the courage to go into her shop and say I can’t stop thinking about you I think I’m falling in love with you it would end in disaster. He knows it probably would. He’d hurt her, ruin her like he’s ruined pretty much everything in his life. So he just stands outside. Waves to Kate when she walks outside, her apron tied around her waist.
“Hi, Anthony.” It was cold, it was always cold these days. “I’ve ordered some sunflowers, might be nice for your fucking bouquets this week.”
Anthony pretended it didn’t bother him, inclining his head as he took a drag from his drink, the hot liquid scalding him. “Oh I’ll try to find some lucky lady then. I’d hate for your business to suffer without your best customer.”
He did buy a bouquet. Walked in the very next morning, and bought one. But he took it with him, and inking at Kate’s slightly surprised expression when he said
“I’ll deliver these myself. They’re special.”
She cleared her throat, staring past him, through the window to the street outside. “Right. I’d love to see the woman that could make you settle down.”
Anthony shrugged when he got to the door, ignoring the swoop in his stomach, “They’re for my sisters. Plenty for all of them.”
And he let the door swing closed.

Hello! wanted to ask you something, so I have realized that in jttw, Wukong always turns to Guanyin when he needs help and she also comforts him when he feels sad, and it seems that Wukong trusts her and respects her a lot, it is like a relationship between a younger brother and an older sister. (correct me if I'm wrong, sorry I'm just getting started and it's a lot of things) but shouldn't Wukong be mad that she was the one who gave tripitaka the circlet in the first place? Does Wukong know this? why does he trust her if she was the one who gave tripitaka the circlet in the first place? Pd: I love your art! <3 have a good day
Before I start, I would like to say that I have not finished reading the book myself, so some of my interpretations may seem off :0 For folks who are more knowledgeable than me, feel free to add on and share what you think as well! Now, let’s begin!
Yup! I also see them as having a younger bro and older sis bond :0 Also Wukong did grow mad when he learned it was Guan Yin who taught Tripitaka the magic!
From Anthony C. Yu's translation, page 320, Chapter 14:
"I wouldn't dare strike you," said Pilgrim, "but let me ask you something. Who taught you this magic?" "It was an old woman," said Tripitaka, "who imparted it to me a few moments ago." Growing very angry, Pilgrim said, "You needn't say anything more! The old woman had to be that Guanshiyin! Why did she want me to suffer like this? I'm going to South Sea to beat her up!"
Wukong also chewed Guan Yin out for her tricks the next time they met on page 327, Chapter 15:
The Bodhisattva and the Guardian soon arrived at the Serpent Coil Mountain. They stopped the hallowed clouds in midair and saw Pilgrim Sun down below, shouting abuses at the bank of the stream. The Bodhisattva asked the Guardian to fetch him. Lowering his clouds, the Guardian went past Tripitaka and headed
straight for the edge of the stream, saying to Pilgrim, “The Bodhisattva has arrived.” When Pilgrim heard this, he jumped quickly into the air and yelled at her: “You, so-called Teacher of the Seven Buddhas and the Founder of the Faith of Mercy! Why did you have to use your tricks to harm me?”
“You impudent stableman, ignorant red-buttocks!” said the Bodhisattva. “I went to considerable effort to find a scripture pilgrim, whom I carefully instructed to save your life. Instead of thanking me, you are finding fault with me!” “You saved me all right!” said Pilgrim. “If you truly wanted to deliver me, you should have allowed me to have a little fun with no strings attached. When you met me the other day above the ocean, you could have chastened me with a few words, telling me to serve the Tang Monk with diligence, and that would have been enough. Why did you have to give him a flower cap, and have him deceive me into wearing it so that I would suffer? Now the fillet has taken root on old Monkey’s head. And you even taught him this so-called ‘Tight-Fillet Spell,’ which he recites again and again, causing endless pain in my head! You haven’t harmed me, indeed!” The Bodhisattva laughed and said, “O, Monkey! You are neither attentive to admonition nor willing to seek the fruit of truth. If you are not restrained like this, you’ll probably mock the authority of Heaven again without regard for good or ill. If you create troubles as you did before, who will be able to control you? It’s only through this bit of adversity that you will be willing to enter our gate of Yoga.”
“All right,” said Pilgrim, “I’ll consider the matter my hard luck. But why did you take that condemned dragon and send him here so that he could become a spirit and swallow my master’s horse? It’s your fault, you know, if you allow an evildoer to perpetrate his villainies some more!”
As you can see, Sun Wukong and the Bodhisattva were not off to a great start. Guan Yin gave Sun Wukong the fillet to ensure he kept his promise of bringing the Tang Monk to India, attaining enlightenment in the process. From my point of view, the purpose of the journey was not only to introduce Buddhism to China but for the pilgrims to redeem themselves as well. It's basically like community service lmao. In the beginning, Sun Wukong was not very committed to maintaining his deal with the Bodhisattva, running away when Tripitaka scolded him for killing the 6 robbers. Sun Wukong does come back after having tea with his bestie the Dragon King, and to ensure Sun Wukong won't change his mind Guan Yin decided to give Tripitaka the fillet. In the beginning, you could justify why the fillet was needed. You can't deny that Sun Wukong was a dangerous warlord, managing to outmatch the might of Heaven itself (Absolute king, he wrecked those guys in Heaven <3). It seems reasonable how the Bodhisattva would think of the fillet as a necessary item to keep Sun Wukong in check. Sun Wukong, along with being overpowered, is seen to be impulsive and rash. That makes for a dangerous combination. But as the story progresses, you can see how Tripitaka overuses the fillet (Tripitaka sucks at being a teacher). I think the Bodhisattva was not aware of this. Or at least, not aware that Tripitaka used the fillet to such a degree. She is not omniscient, as proven by how Sun Wukong has to go to her to fill her in on all the tea.
I think I have to also mention corporal punishment. Corporal punishment is a common thing in a lot of countries back then, especially in East Asia! This way of disciplining was the norm. It was universally accepted, so there was a big chance people didn’t really think of the fillet as such a big deal. Confucianism is deeply embedded in Chinese culture, and it puts great importance on filial piety and good behavior. Teachers and parents are granted a lot of authority in this philosophy. If it’s for the sake of discipline, then corporal punishment is justified (obviously this is a damaging and flawed way of thinking but that’s just how it was in ancient times. Luckily, values are changing and people are becoming more aware!). Unfortunately, Sun Wukong and a lot of others r probably not aware that this was actual abuse. ….I think I digressed and I am sorry if I did but back to Wukong and Guan Yin! The way I see their relationship, it’s…complicated. In the beginning, their relationship was def strained. Wukong was mad at Guan Yin for the fillet. As for Guan Yin’s feelings towards the monkey, I think she genuinely wanted Wukong to succeed. She def disapproved of Sun Wukong’s rambunctious nature, but time and time again we see her offer her assistance throughout the pilgrim’s journey. Because of this she probably grew fond of the monkey, and Sun Wukong to her. I mean, she lets Sun Wukong crash at her place and allows him to vent his feelings to her. She is also stern whenever Sun Wukong’s resolve for the journey falters. She wants Wukong to stay on track. I think she genuinely wants Wukong to attain his merit, achieve enlightenment, and succeed. Isn’t that why she became a Bodhisattva? To help people? But this is just my interpretation! Also out of pure fun and brain rot, I want to share this song that reminds me of Sun Wukong and Guan Yin <3
youtube
Also, I just wanna say one of my fav interactions between them is when they worked together to save Tripitaka from Black Wind Demon! I loved their light bickering <33 I personally think Chapter 17 was when Wukong and Guan Yin’s relationship became better and they started opening up to one another :> Also aahh thank you so much for liking my art! Sorry for the long ramble XD I hope you have a cool day anon!

ted lasso 3x02 thoughts
Listen, I think we can all agree that this episode could pretty much be titled ‘Trent Crimm: Return of the Crimm’. I’m not even a big tedpendent girl but this was definitely their time.
I loved seeing Trent back at Richmond! It’s going to be great having more of James Lance on the show: one thing I did think was that Trent had definitely lost a little bit of his customary swagger – he’s back at Richmond but he’s no longer dominating the press room, he’s very much now in the jock-dominated locker room where the Roy storyline made it clear that he no longer has that commanding power that he did in the world of journalism (James Lance’s headcanon that Trent got into sports journalism because his dad wanted him to be into football – Trent is both of that world and not of it - lives in my head rent-free), and the entire arc of this episode was a really interesting way of easing Trent into this scene.
Being a non-sports, non-celebrity, non-rich person, the one gripe I often have with Ted Lasso is it very much takes the rich celebrity jock-ish status of the team as given – of course the himbos are justified in being paid ludicrous sums of money, of course it’s funny and not unsettling that Jamie thinks of non-celebrities as ‘muggles’. So having Trent, who’ll be the first locker-room-regular to come from a more academic, working-a-regular-non-sports-job-background, will be an interesting dynamic switch.
Roy’s entire arc with Trent just stabbed me in the heart. I always knew there had to be more to the ‘you’re a colossal prick and you always have been’ line and now I feel so freaking vindicated. And whoever pointed out that Roy refused to carry on the cycle of condemning teenage players back in s2 as a pundit…argh.
AND HE CARRIED THAT REVIEW AROUND WITH HIM FOR TWENTY-ODD YEARS. (Apparently the British comedian Eric Morecambe did a similar thing: carrying an old bad review of his first television appearance with him for the rest of his life despite reaching unparalleled success in his heyday. *sniffles*)
The one thing that was slightly jarring about Trent’s return was it felt like everyone (except for Roy) was surprisingly chill about him being at Richmond, considering that he was the journalist who broke the story about Ted’s mental health problems (Keeley even mentions gunning for Trent in the S2 finale). Of course, Ted being Ted we can assume he did a lot of sticking up for Trent at the time, but this only turns us back again to the big, painful, heart-stomping elephant in the room…how much does the rest of the Richmond crew know about the leak? And if it does ever slip out, how exactly is that going to go down?
On that note, I was under the impression that we only had to suffer more of Rupert if we also got more delicious Nate angst and arcs into the bargain. The fact that this week we had Rupert’s gross manipulations and no Nate is just a slap in the face.
(Anthony Head remains so wonderfully evil though.)
Zava! I’ve been hypothesising about him since leaked pictures of the first West Ham match hit Twitter, and I’m really interested in seeing where he goes…though, I’ll be real, right now he strikes me as just a prick. And not even a dumb, amusing prick like s1 Jamie (who I knew I was going to have a grudging soft spot for back when he piped up about the snacks being shit), but just…a prick. We’ll see though. I’m also really looking forward to seeing Jamie’s reaction to Zava: if he doesn’t like sharing the spotlight with another ace, or if it’s seeing the primadonna beneath the glamour and not wanting Zava to hurt his team.
And speaking of Zava’s hire…Rebecca’s takedown of him was magnificent, and her ability to be dragged into dodgy business decisions just to one-up Rupert are being played for laughs right now…but let’s be real, this show always plays things for laughs before turning the tables on you. Which basically means: this is going to hurt like a motherfucker.
Also REBECCA WAS THE OTHER WOMAN?!?!? God, that adds so many layers to Sassy telling her she’d hurt people while with Rupert. I cannot wait to find out more about that, it’s already hurting my heart.
DANI SCORING A GOAL WITH HIS FACE. Also his puppy dog excitement about Zava, which I’m sure won’t come back to bite him in the arse later.
I love how Higgins is basically the Richmond equivalent of Varys – he has his contacts everywhere, and no secrets are secret from him.
Keeley and Barbara! Honestly, I’m quite here for where this is going – Barbara’s attitude in this ep unkind and, let’s be honest, pretty classist when it came to Shazza(? Keeley’s model friend?), but also you do need someone to be boring and sensible and check the numbers when it comes to running a business. I’m hoping they keep working together well.
And that moment when Keeley watched Roy come back to Chelsea *lip wobble*
Actually, that entire Chelsea return moment…
AND the knowledge that Roy left Chelsea and Keeley because he couldn’t bear to be left… That revelation hurt. Not even Ted batting his eyes cartoon-anime-style could take the sting out of that kick to the chest.
Jamie continuing to go from strength to strength by trying to comfort Roy (unsuccessfully) in this episode, in his own unique fashion. ‘Old people are jumpy because of the war’ was incredible.
Not nearly enough himbos in this episode, I’m sorry to say, but the scene where they react to Zava, Trent, and Roy breaking up with Keeley was a thing of absolute beauty. And Beard’s shriek at the news was both hilarious and justifiable.
I’m also fascinated by the choice to have the himbos identify the best tactic to fight back at the Chelsea match, rather than Ted – it’s the second time in so many episodes when someone else has stepped up to do something which would traditionally be Ted’s role, and I’m wondering if there’s a pattern here. (And if there is, how Ted – who’s clearly uncertain about his place at Richmond – will interpret that.)
God, I almost nearly forgot that this was the episode where we found out that Isaac is a student of kinesics (Renaissance man!) and apparently regularly checks out Roy’s arse. Here we were all thinking Colin would be confirmed queer this season…is McAdoo about to sneak in from under our noses?
Also the post-gym scenes made this the episode where I realised the Greyhounds are definitely sporting a somewhat more...athletic look this season. I may have to put together some s1 v s3 comparison pics to be sure about this. Stay tuned.

Did someone say "Post more?" Well here you go! (Ow ow ow ow! This part hurt me to write)
The Devil and The Innocent: Pt.9
Vaggie looked at Charlie, she felt that breathing strain as she stared at the axe in her collarbone. “You… You came back…” The Devil smiled weakly at Vaggie.
“Yeah…” Vaggie nuzzled into that chest fur. “I couldn't let them attack you..” She started to cry. “But I failed… I'm so sorry…”
Charlie reached up and gently petted Vaggie with her good arm. “Don't be… Look at you, you're hurt too..” She gently licked the wound on Vaggie's cheek.
Vaggie leaned into that gentle paw. “It was worth it… To take that bitch down.” She smiled softly, kissing the palm.
Charlie smiled a bit but coughed up blood. “Ah shit… Sorry…” She breathed her voice strained. Vaggie looked at her, that jade eye wide. “Did it… hurt…?” Charlie lightly stroked the eyepatch. Vaggie nodded softly only to receive a kiss to it. “I'm sorry… You suffered too…” She smiled weakly. “Thank you… I finally found… what I was looking for…” Her paw dropped as did that wolf head, her eyes closing.
Vaggie gripped the fur, shaking her. “Charlie…?” She saw the blood on her hands. This only made her frantically shake her more. “Charlie! Please don't leave me!” She cried holding that wolf's head close. “You stupid… Don't you understand, you're what brought meaning back to my life! Please without you… I.. I can't…” She gritted her teeth.
The others blinked, coming out hearing the scream. “The princess…” Angel blinked.
“Damn it all.” Husk growled.
The others looked away, closing their eyes. Even Alastor paid his respects, as did Niffty, who lowered her head in a bow.
Vaggie swallowed hard trying to get out the next few words. “Please come back… I love you…”
----
The crew blinked hearing that. “The rose..” Lucifier blinked as everyone saw it shimmer. “The spell it's being lifted?!”
Magic surged as a figure drifted over to the two on the balcony. “True love… What a sight to see.” The light hovered and gently lifted the Devil up. “Do not fret little one. I am here to reward your selflessness.”
Vaggie blinked her eye widen at the axes shattering into little lights, the wounds healing over. “Charlie…?”
The figure swirled around the Devil shifting in a pure form of light the monster back into the once loved princess of the Pride Kingdom. “Do you want your eye back too?” The figure asked.
“No… I never needed it around her…” Vaggie stated as the wrapped up princess landed in her outstretched arms. She chuckled as the clothes looked huge on the girl with a brilliant shade of golden blonde hair with smaller lighter blonde streaks.
“Farewell brave selfless one.” The light shot into the sky and started to reverse the curse.
“Ngh..” Vaggie blinked hearing Charlie groan. Those eyes opened as a beautiful shade of ruby met jade. “Hey..”
Vaggie started to cry again and place her head against hers. “Hey…” She started to smile, shaking. “Gracias a los cielos de arriba..” (Thank the heavens above)
Charlie chuckled softly and kissed Vaggie on the lips. The other kissed back holding the princess close.
---
“Wooo hoooo!!!!” Cherri roared, popping out as her usual self, a ginger haired woman with bangs over the one eye which were blue and wearing a casual red and black tunic and slacks with a brown belt showing she had been an inventor, as she also had red combat-like boots.
“We’re back!” Sir Pentious grinned turning to a pale skinned man with black hair, and green snake like eyes, his outfit a simple black shirt, with a yellow and red apron with tools sticking out, and casual black slacks ending in black work boots. He took the chance to kiss Cherri Bomb. “My dear, I love you.”
“Uh..” Cherri blinked but shrugged.
“Yeah get some sugar tits!” Angel cheered being turned back into a well dressed tall man with a pink and white striped suit, with glorious pink heels and fluffy short blonde hair with his eyes a soft shade of brownish red.
“Good to see you back Anthony.” Husk replied as he looked like an older short looking man with slick back black here with some white peeking through, his outfit was a simple white button up, with a black jacket and slacks, with his feet in a pair of black dress shoes.
“Aw thanks Husk, good to see you're still good lookin as always.” Angel/Anthony smiled and kissed his head. This made the older man hum a little with delight.
----
Everyone else cheered being free, as Vaggie blushed carrying her princess up stairs for some proper clothes that didn't threaten to fall off, with the blonde nuzzling close smiling.
Lucifer couldn't help but grin seeing his baby girl in love once again. He was back to his regular self, a short pale skinned man with slick back blonde hair, wearing a white top hat, white and red blazer plus slacks, a long red and white cloak, and casual black shoes.
“Welcome back your highness.” Alastor stated being a dark skinned man with brown eyes and light brown hair, his outfit a simple blood red suit, with a black bowtie and casual black shoes.
“I really didn't miss you.” Lucifer narrowed his eyes at Alastor who shrugged with his never ending smile.
“I did!” Two women cooed hugging Alastor, one was Niffty, a short pale skin Japanese maid with short fluffy black hair, her maid uniform white and red with black heels. The other was a taller woman with the same never ending smile, it was Rosie with her playful dark brown almost black eyes, soft pale sand colored skin, and her deep maroon Victorian style dress and hat with casual black heels.
Alastor hugged both with a chuckle. “That's my dear.”
Velvette, now a short dark skinned woman with a gorgeous gown and poofy black hair, took this chance to leave this crew, though she didn't expect to find Vox and Valentino still alive but exhausted. “Alright you two, let's go home.” The two men were elated to see her again since they believed she went missing.
The galla was held as everyone enjoyed the festivities. The staff were overjoyed to have their princess back who smiled wearing an elegant red dress that flowed so freely. She even got to hug her dad who ugly cried.
“Shall we begin the dance?” Vaggie asked in a violet colored dress.
“Let's go my love.” The princess giggled and took her hand.
Thus the tale of the Devil came to an end, with the princess Charlie Morningstar finally finding someone to heal her broken heart, and Vaggie who learned to love herself again and to let love in because of the wonderful woman before her.

I definitely miss when the crown was more political, but I guess they were too scared to touch the politics of the 90s and 2000s too much, given it's all still very recent. tony blair really could have been a much more prominent character given how much they highlighted figures like churchill and thatcher and even anthony eden in previous seasons. some of the bigger historical moments are handwaved away too, when JFK and the suez crisis and aberfan and even the fog from the 1950s got entire episodes. it's very odd to me that there wasn't a 9/11 or iraq episode that dealt with how the fallout of all that was handled for blair. honestly it could have been two episodes at least, and previous seasons would have done it. they gave the suez crisis like, three or four episodes. thatcher got several dedicated to her and the falklands and managed to balance that with the diana story just fine.
the past two seasons really became the diana show, however, and the entire thing suffered for it. the main subject, elizabeth herself, was relegated to a background character. imelda staunton just didn't get the material to work with that her predecessors did. it really felt like the show lost some of its teeth. and like, yes, elizabeth debicki did incredible as diana, but lord they dragged that story out far too long and ultimately I think the show suffered for it. they let the interpersonal drama between charles, diana, and camilla consume everything else and the show really lost something of itself for it. even diana herself gets kind of screwed over for this- her story becomes about her failed marriage and relationship drama, and not any of the other incredible things she did with her life.
all that said, this last batch of episodes were still a lot better than season five and six part one. it finally put the focus back on elizabeth and gave imelda something to do. the margaret episode was incredible. there was at least some return of the politics, albeit I still think they missed the mark with blair. but I think the show ends on an interesting note, one I think a lot of people felt at the time of the actual queen's death- that the show's over, and it's never going to be the same after her. whatever becomes of the real monarchy, it's not going to be the same. elizabeth held that shit together with sheer force of will and glue, and I have my doubts that it will still be intact at the end of my lifetime- I think peter morgan does, too, though he seems a bit sadder about it than I am.
also I am positive the last couple scenes, and possibly a good chunk of that last episode, were re-written and shot after the real elizabeth died. but what they did with that was...I could see some people finding it tacky, but I thought it was nice. so while I think the last two seasons were overall weaker, it mostly stuck the landing. good show, interesting reflection on the monarchy, had it's issues, but good, generally. made you think a bit.
and I will say, and I've said this before, that the show is overall a bit wishy-washy on its opinion of the monarchy. I think that's still true. but it very much is, and always was, about the way the crown kills the people who get too close to it. and this last season was no different- I've said before that season one was about the slow death of a young woman named elizabeth windsor, murdered by elizabeth regina.
season six outright states that, and in many ways, I think that was the thesis of the entire show. the crown kills the personhood of the one who wears it and harms everyone in its immediate vicinity. what that means, exactly, and whether there's a good purpose behind it, might be left up to the viewer to decide.

Bring on Kathelope!💕
I feel like in the coming season(s) I need to see Penelope & Kate bond over how awful it is to watch the man you love declare himself for a woman, and not just any other woman, but a relative.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pen tried to prevent Colin from pursuing Marina & Kate did the same with Anthony & Edwina but both Penelope & Kate failed and were forced to suffer in silence.
Both were dreading what it would be to watch the one person who they loved more than anyone else, not want them in return.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kate had the added torment of there being obvious mutual attraction between her and Anthony.
Tumblr media
While Penelope was friend-zoned by Colin & Marina was brutal basically telling Pen she’d never have a chance with Colin even if he hadn’t chosen her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I want to see our beloved overripe citrus fruit & singed dandelion get along famously and I hope they never let their idiot men forget.

San Francisco’s district attorney has released surveillance video showing the moment a Walgreens security guard fatally shot an alleged shoplifter in late April.
The release of the footage showing the events leading to the death of Banko Brown comes as District Attorney Brooke Jenkins reiterated Monday that she will not charge the security guard in the incident, identified as Michael-Earl Wayne Anthony, after being unable to find evidence to refute his "reasonable self-defense claim in court."
"With the video that has no sound, no audio to it, it is difficult to have context to what is going on, and that is why we must listen to the security guard's statement, the witness statements, and everything else in order to look at the full picture of the incident," Jenkins said Monday while also releasing police records about the April 27 shooting.
"I would also remind everyone that as prosecutors it is our burden to ensure that we can prove a case beyond a reasonable doubt to 12 jurors. That is the standard of proof when we make a charging decision," she added. "And in this case we had to decide whether or not we had the sufficient evidence to prove this case to 12 jurors beyond a reasonable doubt. It was our conclusion that we did not have such evidence and that is why we have arrived at this decision at this time."
SAN FRANCISCO DA DECLINES TO CHARGE WALGREENS SECURITY GUARD WHO SHOT, KILLED ALLEGED SHOPLIFTER
The footage begins with Anthony standing near the door of the Walgreens before confronting Brown, who appears to try to exit the store while holding a bag of items.
The pair then engage in a physical struggle, and Anthony can be seen throwing punches at Brown.
Anthony is later seen holding Brown down on the floor as customers file in and out of the store. After releasing her, she gets up, grabs her bag and walks out of the store before turning around and appearing to gesture at Anthony.
That is when Anthony fired a shot at Brown, causing her to fall backward onto the sidewalk outside.
Brown, 24, was taken to a hospital and died after suffering gunshot wounds.
In a police report released Monday, Anthony told investigators that Brown said, "I’m gonna stab you! I’m gonna stab your a--!" during the struggle.
SAN FRANCISCO WOMAN NAMED THOR KILL SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR POSSESSION OF BOMB-MAKING SUPPLIES, AMMUNITION
"She looked like she was going to leave, but then she turned back towards me. I didn’t know what her intention was at that time, ‘but it turns out her intention was to spit on me... by her turning around and advancing that’s when I lifted my gun and shot once,’" the report added, citing Anthony.
"I didn’t want to end no life. That was not my intention. I just wanted to stop the threat," Anthony also said, according to police.
While Anthony was restraining Brown on the floor, a witness whom police said had an "unobstructed view of the incident from beginning to end" told police they heard Brown say "let me go and I’ll fight you one on one" before Anthony responded "I’ll let you go if you calm the f--- down."
But San Francisco Supervisor Shamann Walton said in a statement Monday that the video does not show justification for the shooting. He plans to join Board President Aaron Peskin in calling on the state attorney general for an independent review of the prosecutor's decision.
Brown, who struggled with homelessness, according to The Associated Press, worked as a community organizer for the Young Women’s Freedom Center, a nonprofit that provides support for young women and trans youth.
"We do not need to see the video to know that Banko Brown’s killing was unjustified. Armed force is not a justified response to poverty," said Julia Arroyo, the center’s co-executive director, in a statement Monday. "We must live with the sobering reality that [she] was killed for no other cause but $14."

omg, yes! the way he almost ruined the relationship that kate had with the only family she had, quite literally the only family member she was blood-related to! and it was like it wasn't a big deal for the show at all, because it was treated like a non-issue by anthony.
and he then did a shitty proposal (with the same ring, mind you), did a lil shake of his empty head after being rejected, went home, did literally nothing and got lucky because edwina encouraged kate to go to the ball so he got so see her. i've never seen a male romantic lead work less.
for real, like we're supposed to excuse anthony bc he was in denial about his feelings for kate when he proposed to edwina?? what about KATE'S feelings? you know, a vulnerable inexperienced young woman, who one minute has the man courting her sister about to kiss her and the next he's proposing to her sister??
and then again when he proposed to kate after the accident making it sound like the only reason behind the proposal was duty because he “ruined” her? wonder where that energy was when he proposed to edwina after daphne caught him with kate btw cause he didn't seem to care much for kate's reputation back then
he was a grown ass man with all the life experience and privilege in the world UNLIKE kate and edwina and that's so easily overlooked
shondaland wanted to have their cake and eat it cause you can't have your male lead at the altar about to marry the leading lady’s baby sister and them getting together two episodes later. anthony needed to suffer over a whole other season at least, realise how shitty he treated these women, humble himself, apologize and work for kate’s love.
not to mention some time would need to pass in universe for it to work. have the sharmas mend their relationship, maybe let kate be courted by and/or get engaged to another man. if they wanted their big dramatic love triangle so much kathony needed a whole other season to get together to sort out that mess!

Cobra Kai knows what happens if you let shitty fathers back into your life, actually...
Tumblr media
They just prefer the fantasy
Tumblr media
Cobra Kai has an issue with fathers. Specifically fathers parenting sons. The only one in the show who we consistently see parenting his own children is Daniel, and for no reason other than plot, he has a very loving, supporting relationship with his daughter and surrogate son Robby but turns into a dismissive asshole around his son Anthony.
Johnny's relationship with Robby is abuse through neglect; he's consistently failed to show up for him in every way. He's ignored that the mother of his child is an addict, probably because he himself is one, and contributed nothing financially or emotionally.
Miguel's father is apparently an active threat to Miguel's safety.
We know Johnny's father figures, be they Sid or Kreese, certainly are.
And yet, the show unironically indulges in the hallowed figure of the biological father.
You know what would have made emotional sense after the S4 All Valley for Robby to do? When he's come to the realisation that even when you take someone under your wing with the best of intentions and effort, you might still screw up?
Go back to Mr. LaRusso. Mr. LaRusso, who screwed up and apologised. Who kept reaching out, without blaming him, yet tried to protect him even when he didn't want protection. Mr. LaRusso, who paid for his mother's rehab, offered him a home, encouraged him, thanked him, called him family. Who is financially and emotionally stable, unless the writers want to create unnecessary drama to heighten the plot.
Instead he reaches out to Johnny, who is not emotionally equipped to handle his problems. That's why fathers walk out in the first place. They're incapable of handling the emotional load of the relationship they're in. You know? Same as they made Miguel do. His relationship with Johnny gets so painful and complicated that he bails.
And we know Johnny may want to have a father-son relationship with Robby but he has the emotional maturity of an 18-year-old. Yeah, he's learning. But he can't take care of Robby. The reason he can mentor Miguel is that Miguel has a solid emotional base in his mother and grandmother. (The only reason why a woman like Carmen would date him is that she wants to keep an eye on this man that her son is spending so much time with. He can't even get it up.) And he acts like an 18-year old, dragging Robby on a wild goose chase to Mexico. And that is in character for him, so I don't blame the writers, but why put Robby in that situation in the first place? Because they know that stuff like this will happen. Likely from bitter experience.
And you know how I know?
Johnny's whole arc with Kreese.
Kreese is what happens, not when an abusive father leaves a son, but when a son leaves an abusive father, whom he loves.
"Why would you let him back into your life?"
Because before sweep the leg
Kreese was his Dad.
A cruel one. One whose love was purely conditional. But if Johnny worked hard, and did as he was told, and put up with all the hurt -
He could win a smile from him. He could make him proud. He could keep his attention. He could be enough.
And then to find out that for all your devotion, your suffering, your hard work, he would still hurt you. And if you failed... he'd kill you. That you'd have to leave him to ensure your own survival.
I deeply feel for Johnny. That betrayal, that attempted murder, that froze him.
And you hope, don't you? That one day, the man magically comes to a realisation. That he was wrong. That he will apologise. Make amends.
And the absolute insight is that Kreese knows that this is what Johnny wanted all along. And that he could have come back at any time. He knows the fantasy that this time, it will be right, and he plays that to a T, like abusive parents do -
When they want something from you. When you have something for them. It doesn't last. They'll worm their way back in until they can hurt you. Oh, they might actually want the relationship too, the love and camaraderie, but they want the power more.
Of course Johnny fell for the prodigal Dad act. It's what abused children lap up. Because Johnny had nothing to compare it to. And apparently the writers have this same old wound - what if my real Dad will make everything better one day? What if he will magically change?
Even though they know he won't...?
Why make your characters chase that farce?
Do you know what Robby needs now?
This:
Tumblr media
And even more than Johnny, he needs this:
Tumblr media
Because realistically, Mr. LaRusso is his best shot at a stable life.
And that's a great story to tell.
Bring him home, Cobra Kai. Robby needs it.

Title: Thinking About Crashing Author: 1016anon Fandom: Bridgerton Pairing: Anthony Bridgerton/Kathani Sharma
That fateful moment
"This is your fault," are the first words out of his mouth to this woman who is his-- something.
"I beg your pardon?" she replies, indignant.
Well, as indignant as anyone can be perched on top of a knot, cock-locked and still shivering from coming.  He lost count how many times.
It appears, however, that two can play at that game because she stares at him intensely and clenches down, making him nearly jack-knife up as she keeps her hands firmly on his shoulders, riding him in the truest sense of the word.
Good god.
Anthony curses-- colorful phrases he has not uttered since his days at Oxford, all along the lines of fucking whoreson of a slick-licking knotslut.  It should scandalize her; she merely raises her eyebrow.
This... connection... which seems to have formed between them does not help.  He can feel her trying to hold back her amusement; who knows what she's picking up from him.  Anthony fervently hopes that he got the better end of the bargain, since there's nothing in his brain but the way the silky skin of her inner thighs feels against him.
"If it's anyone's fault, it's yours," she says.  "If you hadn't chased me--"
"You were the one who scent-swept me--"
"Not in the way you scent--"
"And how exactly did I smell?"
He's furious, aroused, furious that he's still aroused; from what he can feel, she's no different.  Their frustration is compounded by an undercurrent of wariness, distrust-- not of each other per se, but of this... thing growing like a thorn between them.  Every moment they remain joined strengthens the bewildering feeling of unearned affection; if they agree on anything, it's that they want to keep it from spreading.
Like scarlet fever, or smallpox.
She tries to dislodge herself and--
"Stop doing that, you're making things worse!"
"When did you last knot?" she demands.
"I fail to see how that is relevant to our current predicament!"
"Then you suffer from a condition-- your knot should have gone down."
"I assure you, I am perfectly well," he grits his teeth and manages to keep himself from bucking up into her, since it would only prove her point.
She scoffs.
"No alpha ties for a quarter hour."
He looks up at her, realization dawning.
"You worry about being seen."
The flush of her face and the way her nipples peak is quite becoming; the imperious tilt of her head is... not unattractive.
"I worry about strange alphas in parks at dawn who fail to unknot their erections."
"This secret shall remain between us."
"That was never in question."
"Then we understand each other."
She nods.  They both ignore the braided cord between them.
"I suppose I ought to be grateful."
"Whatever for?"
"That you did not give me a mating bite."
"I have more self control than that!"
"Clearly you do not."
Anthony tries to gather his patience.  It is rather difficult when he's overtaken by the alien sensation that a bite would, in fact, be the perfect solution and resolve all their problems.  Her breath catches and pupils blow wide; she's been flooded with the same unwelcome thought.  The connection almost seems to have a will of its own as it attempts to overwhelm them with a sense of longing and euphoria (a strange combination, he notes in the back of his mind).
This time he cannot blame her for tensing, despite the fact it will only prolong their tie.  Anthony manages a smile of grim commiseration.
"We neither could have predicted this would happen," he says.
There is a bizarre pain in his chest which widens with each beat of their heart.
"We could not," her voice is soft.
For a moment, there is only a morning-sun silence.  She shatters it, saying:
"It will pass.  So long as we do not see each other--"
Her eyes flutter as he grabs her hips and grinds into her, filthy and a raw feeling of triumph roaring through him when he feels her pulse around him from that act alone.
Their bodies are in tune now.
He pushes that thought away viciously; she feels him and whimpers.  Anthony knows it's an unconscious sound-- that doesn't stop it from feeling like a dagger puncturing his lungs.
With a strength of will he didn't know he possessed, Anthony lets go of her waist to keep from giving into the impulse to hold her until her scent turns ripe.
His breath hitches, hurtling towards panicked delight at the thought that--
"Will you need--"
"No."
His exhale is explosive with relief.
"Not that I wouldn't-- if it indeed came to pass, I assure you, I would--"
This time she gives him a grimace of commiseration.
The woods are quiet.
"If you are ever in need of anything-- anything whatsoever--" he holds her gaze.  "I will find a way to give it to you, so long as it's within my power to give."
So long as it is not--
She hears him through the silence; her relief is melted wax.
"Thank you."
With that, his cock subsides enough for her to stand.  The scent of their mating, essence mixed together, spills onto him and from his vantage point, sitting under her spread legs, his hands gripping her calves to keep her standing, he's so close to her cunt he can taste it just from inhaling.  It fills him with a disturbingly deep, calm sense of satisfaction.  Instead of giving into the impulse to lick and mark her where no one can see, he rubs her calves to help her restore circulation; she hisses in pain.
As one, they help each other dress, unable to resist stealing kisses even while she tells him, "no, the other way, the laces on the left side cross under," or he tells her "you missed a spot" after she wipes their come from his stomach.
When they are somewhat decent (though far from presentable), they manage to locate their horses.  He gives her a leg up; gazes up at her when she's settled.
"You know where to find me?"
"Yes."
"Not the house-- my lodgings."
"If I have need, I shall ask."
"Anything at all, send word.  There is a special license for circumstances such as ours."
"You will be careful," she commands.
"As we agreed," he nods, something sour curdling in his stomach.
She must feel it too, the way her hand unconsciously moves to press against her abdomen.
"Two weeks would be best."
"Most reasonable."
He finds himself searching for anything to say to keep her from leaving; it reminds him of what is at stake.  Anthony lets go of the reins and steps back, bearing stiff and patrician.  He bows, as expected of a gentleman, though he supposes they are far past formalities now.
"Good day."
For less than a second, her eyes spark with something unnameable.  They cannot help but stare until they're interrupted-- the distant sound of a horse whinnying, followed by vague shouting.  Probably riders on their way to Mayfair.
She turns her horse and leaves without a word, taking that scent with her.
--
With distance comes perspective and the only thing he can think is: fuck.

Anthony Bridgerton in India, c. 1820 (part II)
“I heard there might have been a mishap in the morning, my dear Mr. Bridgerton— Heard you had wandered a bit too close to the zenana than was proper?” Maharaja Krishna Pratap looked entirely too amused as he lazed on the divan, smoking contentedly at the hookah beside him, dark twinkling eyes fixed on Anthony even as the latter’s hand froze on the way to his mouth. He heard Thomas Dorset let out a sudden soft cough beside him, but Anthony had the suspicion that it might have also been a soft laugh disguised as a cough. But the Maharaja was unperturbed as he waited for Anthony’s answer even as Anthony stupidly held on to the oily cookie, wondering about the most proper way to answer the question, without exposing too much about the humiliation that he had suffered in the process. It almost seemed as if the Maharaja was discussing about the many breeds of his pet bloodhounds with him, wondering if Anthony had a particular favourite among them; and definitely not about the way Anthony had been near decapitated by a chit of a girl. At least Anthony would have a suitable answer to the former question about dogs.
“I’m sorry, your Majesty. He finally croaked out, shame roiling within him as the encounter flooded into his mind: the dark face looking down at him in disdain even as he had felt the familiar jolts of desire in the pits of his stomach at the way her wild curls swirled around her exposed face, “I did not know that way led to your zenana. I was simply looking for an arbour to read my book in peace.”
“It is easy to get lost here.” The Maharaja agreed good-naturedly, pulling spiritedly at the hookah again, the loud gurgle interrupting his speech, “It was not your fault. And it was not Kate’s fault either that she tried to hurt you.”
“Kate?!” Anthony was not entirely sure that he heard the Maharaja right. An English name that was entirely too familiar to his ears but there had been no fair English Rose that he had sighted as he had stood there in front of the imposing red sandstone pillars, sparkling in the sun. He had an uncertain realization: “Is that her name?”
“Well, it will be easier for you to remember your near-killer then, Mr. Bridgerton, will it not?” The Maharaja now looked positively jubilant as he pushed back into the pillows of his settee, hand tearing off a Muscat grape from the fruit tray and popping it into his mouth. “Considering that you will be seeing her quite often, now that you are to be a part of my royal court for some time.”
Anthony entirely did not appreciate the chuckles that the Maharaja let out at a joke that only he seemed privy to. Thomas too seemed to be busy in his own thoughts, leaving Anthony to sit awkwardly in his own silence, stewing over the name of the mysterious woman—
Kate.
She had not been much older than him but even a clumsy shooter like Anthony knew that her aim had been indeed impeccable and perfect, the tension in her hand just enough for the arrow to hit and harm her target, if not kill him. And somehow, that stung his delicate pride. He had spent hours on private lands in Kent trying to hunt and perfect his aim with guns that could rival those of the King’s marksmen themselves and yet, here was this native girl with nothing but a crude bow and arrow who had just as easily managed to bring him to his knees, made his heart stir for the first time and even as she had walked away with scornful shake of her head, made Anthony’s heart thud with emotions that he was not entirely sure that he wanted to recognize. And yet, he could not get the name out of his head even as he could not forget the woman herself—
Kate.
