honestly I'm not sure I've rewatched the plight before christmas since last year when it came out (i dont really rewatch the holiday episodes that much esp the more emotional ones. its A Lot) but i do genuinely think it is a good episode. like hype aside it is legit a good episode. solid pacing. believable story for parents w/ more than two kids. gene saves the day with his musical genuis and ability. tina is a good sister. funny jokes. whats not to love?? also gene visiting ms merkins in the hospital was adorable and imo his subplot is underrated when she's the star of the whole show <- FOR ME

like okay PUTTING ASIDE THE HYPE it is a good episode. not sure if it's the best episode objectively (there are a few frontrunners tbh) but its praise is not unearned imo
