Sirius looked like he came back to his senses, and he turned away, embarassed and lost. “How do you that…?” calmly asked Lindena. “I.. I don’t know… It was weird, like something took control of me to speak…” stuttered the knight. The witch put a hand on his shoulder to comfort him.
In these peices I was inspired by Ross Loveday from his unique landscape prints and monochrome palate and Jemma Gunning with her etchings and unsettling imagery portraying dark urban settings which are quite disturbing. However my prints aren’t dark or disturbing however they do reflect their techniques and use of a monochrome palate making mine more happy prints but still similar to theirs.
The idea behind these pieces were simply to have things that I see often on a daily basis and that mean a lot to me, on the left we have pets and animals then to the right boyfriends hand and piano things relating to the theme of the project so the composition of the piece is basically a gradual shift of things that mean a lot to me I made sure I could get enough detail in as well as that was important to me also. The use of line is very fine and detailed as I wanted to capture as much detail as I could In the line work.
I like the fact each of them flow into each other creating a really cool affect of merging images this is definitely one of my favourite peices I have done drypoint is definitely a really interesting thing to do and experiment with. Would definitely do it again.
My intaligo print had a similar theme to it however I wanted to include more nature aspects so i included plants from my garden that my cat regularly sits and plays on I also wanted to merge my piano and guitar into it somehow I manged that somehow . It would have been a really cool print if it hadn’t had ripped however not the end of the world it was fun to experiment with and try out different techniques.
