Disclaimer: He's not in the OG Dreamtale, I'm not the Creator of Dreamtale... Shattered belongs to the Shattered Fates AU, a Dreamtale AU; differing from the original. [ It holds some aspects from the original, but it is very different in terms of story.... worldbuilding etc. ]

May or may not contain spoilers for the Shattered Fates AU Fic! ( This was shared on discord but I'm here to share it here as well! )

Here's some general information on him...

He's a Dream who experiences 'Dreams' and in most of them it ends up with him dying, or worse. [ Similar to Resets, but on another level. ]

Having gone through several failed attempts he finally figured out another path for the betterment of his world, for their brother and himself.

with how much resentment he held, it unlocked new paths... even he was surprised by this change, being able to tap into more 'Negative' aspects of himself like Nightmare. Of course, he couldn't tap in fully to the abilities granted to him unlike Nightmare, but he most certainly could use this new version of himself to his advantage.

After becoming this, a new point was appointed to him as well... he couldn't exactly go back to the very beginning again... dying would just set him back to his first experience as this 'Shattered' version of himself.

forever starting out in a position where he'd be fighting himself emotionally. The scarlet rage within ready to pop at any moment if things didn't go his way... he had to make do with what he now had and was stuck with.

( He sometimes gets jealous of versions of himself who have a better life then himself, like Post dark cream Dream/Shattered and the Studio version of himself. )

Shattered uses his knowledge from previous 'Dreams' to sway those who he knew... for those he doesn't know he gains a great interest in them; the same goes for those who have the potential to change. With this as well, he finally took advantage of his natural strength, preferring hand to hand combat up close, rather then the bow which did little to no help to him before.

There's rumors that he takes those with that potential under his wing, and re-directs events or deaths towards others to keep a particular crowd alive... he can't exactly be everywhere at once saving those that he needs.

having been... through a lot, he lost the reason why he continued to be like this and eventually just saw himself as Shattered and not so much as Dream anymore. he's doing this for the world... for himself, and his brother right? he's the hero in his eyes, but not in others...

Shattered is very confident in himself; to the point it has become the catalyst to his 'Negative' sense of self. Charismatic, but not intentionally... it's actually hard to tell if he's flirting or not with another. Unlike Nightmare, Shattered tends to Lie more; mainly to keep himself together... to keep others in positions where he believes they need to be. sometimes he can be Sassy or more so Sly. when he's beginning to go over the edge, a scarlet hue begins to set in. the hidden and concealed part of him that he tries to keep buried is Aggressive, Argumentative, Violent and Uncontrollable. There's little moments where he ends up slipping into this 'Fully corrupted' version of himself, once in it- it's hard to escape this intrusive thought of a form.

...more will be shared and explained with the Fic! but this is primarily for those wanting to overanalyze Shattered or possibly write him more accurately!

By all technicalities, the blood twins’ birthdays are July 16th

He has very good aim when stabbing and typically aims for vital organs. He also knows where all the vital organs are located, and can avoid them if so desired

Ok to say short the magic in this universe is based on the spiritual energy contained everywhere Following a surge of corrupted energy over the entire universe (a sort of Big Bang), this Incident plunged Inversotale into total chaos overwhelmed by demons and other evil spirits (ONRYO), praying from all corners to Heavens for help This disaster was called "The Great Upheaval" the Gods then granted "Blessings" (a part of the ability of a god or a spirit to replace the disappearance of some normal ability for some persons) to the mortals, also giving them directives allowing them to fight against the Onryo or Demons and to be able to survive.

the magic can also vary according to the races Example water for the Water Dragons or the sirens Fire for Fire Dragons and stone for Dwarves plus neutral spirits, this Universe is composed of several spirits from Japanese legends such as the zashiki warashi or the Kitsune who each play a role in the social life of Inversotale

As someone with a PHD in Papyrus, what are the do's and donts of writing Papyrus that even the fans who let him say fuck do?

If you don't treat him like an adult you've failed step one imo. Man's an adult but he's ALSO still a doofus. People who recognize him as an adult tend to rubberband into making him edgy and jaded and a serial liar (myself included at one point). A friend of mine once read a story where Papyrus was keeping secrets from Sans about him knowing just as much BUT the second his secrets were revealed Papyrus started being written like a Sans. Depressed, jaded, I think he even started speaking in all lowercase?

Though if I were to stumble on edgy bastard Papyrus I'm a lot more forgiving than "This man doesn't know other foods than spaghetti exist and he's so dumb you could tell him he's a cow and he would believe you" because it's all been debunked a million times. Within reason edgy bitch Papyrus is fine? I've seen a few where I'm like "this doesn't even feel like *Papyrus*, this is just some edgy asshole (derogatory)"

Imo if you're going to tweak and change some of Papyrus' personality you need to keep a certain amount of it the same so he's still recognizable? Like I hate an underswap Papyrus that's just Long Sans (as was coined by someone on an old server) but if you just gave Papyrus crippling anxiety and made him deeply self conscious that's what I'm talking about. He's still a nerd, he's still got Goals, he's still interested in humans, he's just much more reserved and tries to be lowkey with his ambitions. Same with underfell Papyrus just being Papyrus but now he's always a bit cranky and his persona is his mask 95% of the time and also is even MORE supervillain than before, but you could get him to break that mask if you tell him a really bad joke at just the right time to make him bust out laughing.

If your goal for writing Papyrus is canon compliance then I actually have a fact list that I made after watching a video where the guy (sooo derogatory) who made it accused Papyrus of being a murderer, said he was a narcissist, and then LITERALLY SAID THAT PAPYRUS "...displays an unwavering confidence in himself despite an utter lack of competence at every level of everything."

I mean, technically Edo Tensei is supposed to bring the body back the way it died, however that is immediately thrown out the window the moment Madara is brought back as his young and fit self instead of the pathetic little old man he was when he saved Obito, and also if having taken the body's eyes should mean that the ED version is blind then Itachi should have been blind because Sasuke got his eyes for the EMS, and that means that Shisui could technically come back with his sight

Also for the EMS thing, it's sort of explained (or as explained as the Naruto canon gets, anyway) that the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan can only be unlocked by taking the eyes of someone closely related by blood like a parent or a sibling, and that their eyes will give "new light", meaning that the blindness of the normal Mangekyō will disappear completely and the EMS will never go blind, but it doesn't say anything about passing on the techniques, as is seen with the fact that Sasuke never gains Tsukuyiomi upon taking Itachi's eyes

For the techniques themselves... I think it's different depending on the technique itself? I mean, ED!Madara blind is still able to use Susano'o and in one of the three versions of Shisui's death he also uses his Susano'o with only one eye left, so once having unlocked the technique it doesn't matter if you have the eyes or not, however techniques like Tsukuyiomi that need eye contact can't probably be used without eyes (I mean, I can't get you in the genjutsu if I can't even see you, right?) or, to some extent, probably Amaterasu since technically the flames pop up where you look, while Obito's version of the Kamui (which is different from Kakashi's, Obito has a close-range Kamui as seen by the fact that he needs to touch someone to get them in Kamui and he can make weapons appear only near himself, while Kakashi has a long-range Kamui as seen by the fact that he's able to Kamui Deidara's arm from far away and swirl away his explosion as well without touching him, meaning that Kakashi needs to point his eye on where he wants the Kamui to work while Obito doesn't need to, it's automatically close to him) could probably still work, since he doesn't necessary need to see where he points the Kamui

Then again the Naruto canon is so full of plot holes that look more like fucking craters than simple holes, so we can do whatever we want and I sincerily doubt we'll do worse than Kishi LMAO

Edit: Rosie lived and died around the 1890s. She engaged herself with Women Suffrage and was probably a very popular within her social group. She was married to a man, until she had enough of him and killed him. She turned him into stew, or at least tried to before she was caught. She was sentenced to death by hanging. Her last words was probably something about how bad her husband tasted.

For ED!Itachi the situation was particular, though

I know you said you didn't watch/read Naruto, so I can understand if you don't know this, but when Itachi hid Shisui's crow inside Naruto (and isn't THAT a disturbing thought) he did so after somehow programming Kotoamatsukami to trigger in case Naruto was attacked by his eyes with a prepared order to impart, namely to "Protect Konoha"

He did this before fighting Sasuke because he was sure that Sasuke would take his eyes after the fight to obtain the EMS and he also knew that Sasuke had a high chance of turning against Konoha if he ever found out the truth behind the massacre, so the plan was for Naruto to stop Sasuke and the moment Sasuke used Itachi's eyes against him Kotoamatsukami would be triggered and Sasuke would be forced back on Konoha's side (I love Itachi but WTF man 💀)

However, Sasuke doesn't attack Naruto with the EMS before the war, they do clash shortly before he goes to kill Danzō but at that point he still has his own eyes (and it's only after the fight with Danzō Sasuke finally decides to take Itachi's eyes, because he uses his Mangekyō so much during the fight that he's already going blind from overuse), and that means that when ED!Itachi and ED!Nagato attack Naruto and Killer B, Kotoamatsukami triggers on Itachi

However. It only works on Itachi, because the target was programmed to be the "owner" of Itachi's eyes, as shown by the fact that Nagato is still very much under Kabuto's control despite being present when Kotoamatsukami triggers, and also of course Itachi is so smart (saying that with sarcasm, obviously) that he uses Amaterasu on the fucking crow to, I quote, "make sure that no one will ever be able to abuse Shisui's Mangekyō in the future" or some similar phrase of the sort

So like, would ED!Shisui be able to Kotoamatsukami himself? Because that's the real question imo, mostly because when Shisui gives Itachi his eye it's already stuck in its Mangekyō form, and after its used against ED!Itachi we see it go back to the standard three-tomoe Sharingan

Would they be able to reverse it back? Because technically it's the crow's eye now, and the crow itself would have to be the one to trigger the Mangekyō (like Kakashi, no one else but him who has the eye can turn on his own Mangekyō, they can't force his eye to change as long as it's in his skull) so, Idk, it's pretty complicated the way they put it in the anime/manga
