Generally I believe in science except for how they say clothes do not stop UV rays. That’s fake folks. They do. Big sunscreen wants me to become fully nude and rub lotion on my ass every day but I will not.

reasons why Snape is tall:
the taller he is, the less proportionate his skinniness is. man so lanky he looks like mike teevee
it makes his looming shadow even loomier
he is too long for any bed and sleeps with his feetsies poking out the end of the duvet
it means Sirius is fucking huge and honesty I can see that
longer body. further distance for poison to go. more likely he survived the snake bite. I am not a scientist.
how can he hug you from behind and completely envelop you in his cloak if he’s shorter than you?! huh?! checkmate liberals
his skinniness may not be proportionate to his body length but you know what it? yeah. very proportionate in that department. 🍆

"Doctor Octavius."
Ah. His boss, Norman Osborn.. What was he doing here? He hardly ever came down into the labs himself.. He sounded eerily calm compared to his usual bitter tone. That was.. not a good sign, to say the least. This put Otto on edge in an instant. Especially so as he was still wearing the arms, he began to panic, trying to find a place to hide to remove them, but there was no place in sight to run as Norman came into view. Otto jumped as soon as he saw his boss behind him.
"Oh no.. M-Mr.Osborn..? H-Hello, ah.. What, uhm, Wh-What brings you here? I-I thought.."
"As smart as you are, you hardly do think at all," Norman spoke, tired, stern eyes drop from the scientist's face to his twiddling hands, "A smart mind, you have, Otto. Although clever you are not if you think me stupid to not notice."
"..N-Not notice what?"
"Don't play dumb with me, doctor." the man turned his attention back to Otto, stepping closer and causing the other to shuffle back, “You must know why I’m here, surely.” He watched him, eying the way he trembled, eyes darting around behind thick, square frames as his mind raced to register what the man was referring. It was clear what it was even before he said it aloud, reaching a hand down and around to grip and raise one of the objects in question.
“Those funny little arms, Otto.”
Otto was sweating now, heart racing, although not nearly as fast as his mind. Didn't plan for this. He didn't think Norman would ever come down like this.. and find the actuators he did so well to hide every time he was done working. He was caught off guard, trapped in a checkmate.
“Th... S-Sir-- I--” Otto sputtered, bringing his hands up defensively as he backed up, heart racing as he rounded the table, all the while his boss had followed with that unchanging tense expression, the actuator limb in his hand. Otto's eyes darting from Norman to the actuator and back a few times, a clear desperate panic in his voice and face, “O-Oh dear.. L-Listen I-- I-I couldn’t have done all this work without them! You-- Y-You must understand! Th-There was too much for one person-- I-I needed those to--!”
“You need them?” Otto was cut off, bumping into a sizeable computing device. Parts that hung from it rattled in response, one falling off as Norman continued, Otto being forced to press into the console of the machine, “Need? Really? I beg to differ, Doctor.” stepping closer now, "I don't believe you ever needed them--”
Norman swiped another actuator, on the opposite side this time, yanking as hard as he could on them to get Otto up off the machine. He caught the scientist with his foot slamming harsh into the harness around his gut. Otto groaned and Norman leered down above him, hissing out his final words before releasing the arms and kicking Otto back into the machine with all the force he could muster.
“--and I don’t believe you’ll ever need them again."

MAWS Episode 9 did a lot of heavy lifting setting up the future!
Finally dropped the "Sam" name for the general.
Pretty boy Slade Wilson got his eye blown up.
Livewire seems to have developed powers of her own, which I feel is an important step. I think it was a good decision to have the first season have no superpowered villains, it makes Superman's appearance more impactful. (mxy doesn't count, he never really attacks the city), but it's time they start showing up, and Livewire should very much be one of them. Her being the first villain and now the first superpowered one makes so much sense too.
The Parasite armor turning into a monster and leaving the possibility open for it becoming an entity of its own separated from Ivo / that can be operated by someone else.
Ivo losing his mind and the armor so that now he's an actual mad scientist who has to invent new stuff.
Waller in charge of Task Force X, Checkmate name drop.
The Kryptonian forces, if they were Kryptonian, because,
The robots had Brainiac symbols!!! It might be that it's a "Kryptonians are still using Brainiac as AI and haven't realized how fucked they are" but I doubt it, since it's implied the invasion was interrupted by Krypton blowing up.
The season has kind of been setting up the major players for a while now, and this episode felt like lining them all together and placing them where they need to be. And it all lined up really well, very solid work.

Task Force What? An Incomplete (Yet Still Very Long) Guide to Some of the DCU’s Government Groups [Part 2]
Welcome back to my writeup on 13 of the DCU's government organizations. Recognizing that everything in Part 1 was a ton of information to parse through, here’s a rough timeline of some of the groups’ movements and reorganizations. This time, I’ve put important people’s names in bold so you can track them. Again, much thanks to my editors and beta readers.
Part 1: Organization Descriptions and Histories
Part 2: Timeline
Part 3: Reading Suggestions
1940s-1980s
During WWII, Squadron S earns the nickname “The Suicide Squad” due to its high morality rate. Rick Flag Sr. is brought in to turn the squadron around, eventually making it a highly decorated and effective unit.
Senator McCarthy tries to force the Justice Society of America to unmask. They refuse, instead choosing to go into hiding.
Without the Justice Society to protect the U.S. from “extraordinary” threats, the President authorizes the creation of Task Force X. This group consisted of two wings: Argent and The Suicide Squad.
Rick Flag Sr. is killed in action during a Suicide Squad mission. This version of the Squad is disbanded.
Control, the leader of Argent, kills someone involved in JFK’s assassination. He subsequently directs Argent to go underground.
A new version of the Suicide Squad is formed, led by Rick Flag Jr. This version disbands after a mission in Cambodia. Flag’s supervisor reveals that the Squad was ultimately doomed anyway due to budget cuts.
At some point during the Cold War, Spyral is formed by the U.N., led by Otto Netz.
Project Cadmus is founded.
Sarge Steel becomes a leader in, if not the director of, the Central Bureau of Intelligence.
Katherine Webb Kane becomes Batwoman to try to uncover Batman’s identity for Spyral.
The Agency is founded by Valentina Vostok. The Agency’s work includes Project: Peacemaker.
Roy Harper joins the Central Bureau of Investigation. He meets Jade Nguyen through his work with the CBI.
Katherine Webb Kane is apparently killed by Ben Turner, the Bronze Tiger, while he is under the control of the League of Assassins.
Otto Netz is revealed to be a double agent and is imprisoned.
Mr. Bones is a quasi-member of Infinity Inc., legacy heroes springing from the Justice Society.
1980s-2000s
Amanda Waller presents her plan to reactivate Task Force X. This new Suicide Squad will use supervillains for high risk, covert missions. The Agency will be brought into Task Force X and subsequently reorganized as Checkmate, though Project: Peacemaker remains independent.
Rick Flag Jr. is made field leader of the Suicide Squad. Ben Turner, seeking atonement, becomes his second in command.
Sarge Steel is officially the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Harry Stein is made King of Checkmate.
Amanda Waller and her Suicide Squad discover the remenants of Argent. With the majority of its members gone, Argent is officially declared to be disbanded.
The Janus Directive occurs. Massive reorganizations happen.
Task Force X is dissolved as an umbrella organization.
Amanda Waller is left in charge of the Suicide Squad.
Harry Stein remains as King of Checkmate, but they are forced to relocate. Project Peacemaker is incorporated into Checkmate.
Sarge Steel is made the Director of Metahuman Affairs, and is the direct supervisor for all other metahuman related agencies. He continues to oversee the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Amanda Waller disbands her Suicide Squad.
After the death of Superman, Project Cadmus tries to clone him. This results in the creation of Superboy.
Project Cadmus fires “mad scientist” Dabney Donovan.
A “clone plague” begins to affect Project Cadmus creations. This is revealed to be the creation of Dabney Donovan, who kills Paul Westfield.
Mickey Cannon becomes the new head of Project Cadmus. He keeps Dabney Donovan as an imprisoned scientific advisor and brings in geneticist Serling Roquette.
Harry Stein resigns as King of Checkmate. Phil Kramer and Kalia Cambell are made King and Queen, respectively.
Roy Harper leaves the CBI.
Mr. Bones is made the Director of the Department of Extranormal Operations.
Cameron Chase joins the Department of Extranormal Operations.
The Department of Extranormal Operations subcontracts A.P.E.S members Donald Fite and Ishido Maad for a recovery mission.
Lex Luthor becomes president.
Amanda Waller replaces Sarge Steel as Secretary of Metahuman Affairs in the Luthor Administration.
Knightwatch, a more militaristic branch of the Department of Extranormal Operations, protects the U.S. President from metahuman threats.
Director Bones manipulates the Justice Society into going against Kobra on the DEO’s behalf. This is not well received by the JSA.
Lex Luthor starts the Human Defense Corps to try to build a non-metahuman response team to extraordinary threats.
The Central Bureau of Investigation is absorbed into the Department of Extranormal Operations.
Sarge Steel becomes the head of the Department of Metahuman Affairs, a subdivision of the DEO.
Sasha Bordeaux is recruited into Checkmate by Jessica Midnight.
David Said is promoted to King
Helena Bertinelli is blackmailed by David Said into accepting a position as a Queen in Checkmate.
Lex Luthor leaves the White House. Amanda Waller subsequently leaves her position as Secretary for Metahuman Affairs.
Director Bones and Cameron Chase recruit Kate Spencer, the Manhunter, to work for the Department of Extranormal Operations.
Maxwell Lord becomes Black King of Checkmate.
Infinite Crisis happens.
Maxwell Lord kills Ted Kord once Kord uncovers Lord’s plot to use Checkmate against metahumans.
Sasha Bordeaux sends Batman evidence of Kord’s death, leading Lord to activate the OMACs to try to exterminate all Checkmate agents and metahumans on Earth.
Maxwell Lord is killed by Wonder Woman.
One Year Later
After Checkmate is rechartered as a U.N. organization, Amanda Waller is made White Queen. Due to her involvement in the Luthor White House, the U.N. only agrees to let Waller into Checkmate if she does not run operations. This means she cannot run any operations. The other initial leaders of this new Checkmate are Sasha Bordeaux, Alan Scott, and Taleb Beni Khalid.
Wonder Woman joins the Department of Metahuman Affairs in her new identity as Diana Prince.
Alan Scott resigns from Checkmate, tapping his Bishop–Michael Holt–to be the new White King.
Despite being prohibited from running operations, Amanda Waller reactivates a Suicide Squad and begins Operation: Salvation Run.
Once other Checkmate officials find out what Amanda Waller is up to, she is forced to resign from Checkmate. However, by that point, most supervillains had been deported via Operation: Salvation Run.
Squad K is developed out of the Human Defense Corps to specifically deal with Kryptonian threats.
After the events of Brightest Day, Maxwell Lord returns to life. He erases most of the world’s memory of him and begins a discrediting campaign against Checkmate in an attempt to regain power.
Talia al Ghul creates the Leviathan Organization. She frees Otto Netz from his imprisonment so that he can assist Leviathan.
Batman Incorporated begins to move against Leviathan, clearing the organization out of St. Hadrian’s Finishing School for Girls.
Damian Wayne kills Otto Netz to save Batman from a trap.
The New 52 Happens
Spyral takes control of St. Hadrian’s
Katherine Webb Kane reveals that she faked her death to lead Spyral in secret.
A.R.G.U.S. is founded to support metahumans at the federal level.
Dick Grayson is unmasked as Nightwing, and is recruited by Helena Bertinelli to be an agent of Spyral.
Bertinelli and Grayson leave Spyral. Tiger becomes the new Patron of Spyral.

No one quite knows how to describe it, if there is even anything to describe. Attempts to gain a clear answer are foiled by the fact that they appear and disappear seemingly at random, with no rhyme or reason to them. Some claim they are real, others are sure it is a hoax. One side says their sightings are too common to be a simple prank, while the other points out that they are too rare to be an actual living thing. Months will go by without a word or track found, but then suddenly a blurry photo will surface or a shaky video that cuts off at quite the convenient moment gets posted and suddenly everyone is abuzz once more and the debate is reignited. They're real! They're fake! Scientists are left baffled! No they are not, the only thing puzzling them is how anyone can fall for this crap! This is definite proof! This is a load of garbage! They walk exactly like an alien! How do you know that?!
These "creatures" have been dubbed the "Pale Coneheads," and it is truly leaving viewers stunned! Their erratic body movements, their unexplainable origins and the fact that no one can figure out why they are here or what they want! They are always seen at night, lurking behind trees, or hidden in thick brush, or peaking around corners or quickly sprinting past a narrow doorway or standing on someone's roof or standing at the edge of a shoddy phone's camera range! It is truly chilling to witness! Their tall wobbling heads and darting eyes! Their wild failing arms! The odd sheen of their armored parts, surely made from some sort of extraterrestrial metal! We all know what aliens look like and that my friend is a freaking alien!
But of course, "logical" people all claim that there is a reasonable explanation for all this, but if that's the case, then where are their MOUTHS?! CHECKMATE, SCIENCE!
----------------------------------------------------
And the last of Funguary, with Cryptic + Icing Sugar Fungus! Sorry to say this one is certainly a step down in crazy detail than the others, because honestly I accidentally burned myself out on the complexity of the other three! But we at least made it to the finish line!

Anyway, didn't make any plot progression in crisis core this week, but I did manage to do some sidequests around Midgar (bc I have a feelign it's uh going to be a while before I see Midgar again) so here's some of the interactions I liked!
Tumblr media
Unless fanfiction has steered me wrong (which is pretty possible) I believe that Lazard is supposed to be Shinra's illegitimate son? I do love that multiple npcs kind of hint about this as you walk around MIdgar :D
Tumblr media
Hey :( I'll have you know that I tried really really hard to kill- I mean capture Hollander.
Tumblr media
I wish the npcs didn't look so bad, because some of them have interesting viewpoints and bring up interesting things. Like, that not everyone even on top of the Plate supports Shinra and what they're doing. It's one of the things I love about FVIIR, is how much dialogue the npcs have that flesh out the world, and I love to see there's a smaller version of that here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First, this scene had Kunsel so it elevates it so much I love seeing my boy even if he is just the same as every other npc model. And then, I love that the explanation for some of Shinra's monsters escaping is that literally some scientists just hate Shinra and want to see Midgar burn - I mean, specifically for the actions of Shinra and for the death of Ifalna. Kind of makes me wonder, though, how much of the scientists know that Aerith is still alive. Maybe he means tho that Ifalna was the last pure-blood Cetra.
Tumblr media
Ah cool, answers for some things that have confused me or that I've had questions about! Like, who is the current head of the SOLDIER department. Considering that SOLDIER seems to be a shell of it's former self by the time FFVII comes across, it doesn't surprise me that it gets absorbed into the Security Department.
Tumblr media
So, again, I'm fairly sure that this is a reference to Lazard being a Shinra, but also I find the headcanon/theory that Cloud is another illegitimate Shinra so fun - I don't necessarily believe it, but I think it's fun! So, uh, checkmate this trooper is talking about Cloud.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
:( What's wrong with working under Reeve? He seems like a perfectly fine guy :(
And I love the pay off for Tseng saying he gets paid a lot better than Zack. Sorry Zack, maybe if Lazard wasn't embezzling funds to help make your mentor into a monsters, you'd be able to afford a second outfit..
Tumblr media
I loved this whole interaction between Zack and the Crescent Unit Captain. I'm not sure if it was possible to do this mission before this chapter, but with the context of Zack's experience killing Angeal, it shows how it's affected Zack's view points as well as gives you a sense of what Zack does think of honor. The importance of not giving up and dying, but of getting back up and giving what you care about your whole being.

We aren't quite done here yet, despite everything. One last push.
Tumblr media
Yakou hiding the photo doesn't necessarily mean that he didn't want it found. It could mean he didn't want it easily found. As in, by anyone but the crack team of pro investigators he works with.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh. Oh, shit. At the last possible second we've looped back around to, "Okay, but how does Huesca's vengeful espionage bro relate to all of this?"
Tumblr media
The timing was pretty suspect but it got lost in all the shuffle. The extensive knowledge of the lab's inner workings required to make this all happening is similarly suspicious.
I figured Yakou maybe used to work here or Photo Lady worked here or something, but that's all speculation. There may be real answers to be found here.
Tumblr media
If the Labyrinth doesn't want us probing deeper then that means there is deeper to probe.
Tumblr media
I figured we were setting something up for next chapter but sure, we can do this now! The mysterious Photo Lady, Huesca's co-conspirator, all of it.
Tumblr media
The mastermind would be Huesca's old espionage pal. They were selling company secrets together for five years. Then, six months ago, Huesca said he wanted out, infuriating his partner. He had to shut himself in for his own safety.
We don't know many people at the company so the list of suspects is not vast. Yomi seems unlikely on account of his ultra-righteous personality. Doesn't seem like the type of guy to be selling company secrets. But that doesn't necessarily prove he didn't.
Makoto's only been here for three years so he's out.
Robot Researcher is the most suspicious of the bunch, simply because of his visceral hatred of Huesca and gleeful grave-dancing. But it could as easily be someone we've never met. Maybe even Photo Lady, who knows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He could only get it from a binder in the storage closet. That closet was locked with a key only Yomi could access. In theory. It also looks like an old office so there's a possibility that whoever used to work in there might have had the key. But that's speculation.
So far as we know for sure, Yomi is the only person who can go in and out of that office. If Huesca's co-conspirator mailed that map to Yakou or something, then it can only be Yomi.
...and if Yomi was selling company secrets alongside Huesca, then that explains why Huesca didn't feel safe having Peacekeepers escort him around. Choosing instead for his own deathtrap tunnel, and to have other scientists bring him food and supplies. He even made them check the boxes to ensure nobody was hiding inside, waiting to jump out and kill him.
Weird request. Seems paranoid. But not if there was a real possibility that Yomi might hide Peacekeepers inside while the boxes were being loaded.
Makoto suggested the traps were a deterrent, but I thought that was weird. How would they deter people who don't know they're there? But the Peacekeepers knew about the traps. If Huesca was beefing with Yomi then... a lot of things make sense, actually.
Yeah. This makes an alarming amount of sense.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yomi is Anonymous. Yomi's been selling company secrets with Huesca for five years. When Huesca cut things off and secluded himself in his lab, he was hiding from Yomi.
Tumblr media
This. Does sound like something Yomi would write. Fuck.
Yomi isn't Stopped Clock right. Yomi sent Yakou the floor plan and let him in. This is his checkmate. Use Yakou to kill Huesca and then swoop in for retaliation and eliminate Nocturnal Detective Agency. Game over.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I knew we were going to have to throw down with Yomi eventually but I wasn't expecting it so soon. I guess in a roundabout way, Yakou did what I asked. He went out and got himself killed so we can chain-kill our way to Yomi.
I don't think we'll be able to reap Yomi's soul here, though. The Labyrinth is already collapsing because we got the guy. If Yomi didn't participate in the murder itself then he's off the hook. That's how it worked with Servan.
Tumblr media
I know, right!? Fuck this guy. I want to Halara him so bad right now. Drown him in the river where he blew up our first sub.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's right. He's not the target of our Mystery so he's off the hook. Even if we stabbed him, he's just a projection of Yomi, not the real one. So it wouldn't matter. Only Yakou's soul was drawn into this place.
Tumblr media
So it doesn't matter to the case. It only matters to us, because we can take this knowledge back with us to the real world.
The answer to my combo-chain hypothesis from way early on is no, the Labyrinth doesn't work like that.
Tumblr media
I mean. That's what I hear every time you speak but I didn't expect you to say it out loud like that.
Tumblr media
Okay but how tho. I didn't get the impression that Yakou was acting reluctantly, under duress. This felt personal for him. What was his stake in all of this?
Tumblr media
IT SURE IS CONVENIENT THAT WE HAVE THE ONE PERSON WHO CAN KEEP THEIR MEMORIES THIS TIME AROUND, ISN'T IT!?!? @_@
Okay. Well. Once we get back to the real world we can--
Tumblr media
Die. Once we get back we can DIE. Fuck, I forgot that this was happening.

Hello there! I have a simple request for you, if you don't mind this idea. I'm curious to see your take on it!
Would you mind doing something with the concept of a monster, after months (or even years if you'd prefer) of being experimented on by a mad scientist (who is one of those "too clever for their own good" types), manages to outwit and turn the tables on her, and is then left to decide what she ought to do with her?
Thank you so much! Hope you have a nice day!
Scientist made her play chess.
It was an enrichment activity, something to keep Monster’s mind from becoming mush while in captivity, and it also served as a way for Scientist to gauge Monster’s intelligence—whether she was good at preemptive planning, if she was able to make logical decisions during the game, or if she was impulsive and slammed pieces down on the board without thinking.
After months of playing the game, Monster had become good enough to understand the functions of the game and she even learned a handful of the gambits, but she was never better than her captor. Always, without fail, Scientist was the one to say checkmate in the end. Monster wanted to scream and rip her hair out whenever she was chained and made to sit at the board when she knew she was doomed to fail, but one night she was awake, thinking about the games, and she her captivity was a chess game, too. If she wanted to get out, she had to apply the same rules.
That was what led to scientist being strapped down to the same table that Monster had been experimented on.
“You don’t understand what you’re doing.” Scientist uttered shakily, her chest rising in falling heavily. Monster had a hand to her chest and she could feel the pumping of her heart.
“No, I understand.” Monster’s eyes narrowed, but she smiled. “What do you think I should do with you? I don’t know much about humans, so I could experiment on you—test your limits.”
Scientist shuddered at the familiar words.
Monster brushed shapes onto Scientist’s skin, her claws gentle enough not to cut…not yet.
Monster wanted to get away from the haunting, sterile walls and lingering smell of chemicals. She had the keys to do so, but that left Scientist here. The lab was small, and it was only her and her captor in the desolate compound of white walls, so nobody would find Scientist. While she didn’t know much about humans or what their limits were, she knew they were weak. They needed sustenance more often.
But, if Monster released her, Scientist could trap her again. For longer this time. And she’d be punished for this…
Pensively, Monster stared down at Scientist
Because if the isolation of the lab, it wasn’t uncommon that some days the two of them had nobody else to lean on during the lonely hours of the day and Scientist would come, lean on the bars of Monster’s cage, and share scraps of her food while they talked. Those times were good. Scientist sometimes brought treats—small toys or puzzles for more ‘enrichment,’ but were a genuinely nice gesture, unlike the chess games.
But then, the next moment, Monster would be restrained on the table and experimented on, screaming in agony without a flicker in Scientist’s face as she murmured and scribbled down on her notepad about the experiment.
She remembered everything that Scientist had done to her. Memories burned in her mind, bitter as acid, scarred over like a brand, and she may have been a docile creature before her capture—she may have been peaceful—but that was before she’d been experimented on and tortured.
Now, the idea of revenge sounded appealing. More than appealing.
“Monster? You know nothing I did was personal…” Scientist said softly, but there was still a tremor in her hands and a rapid beating to her heart. A heart Monster could very easily rip out. “I didn’t make it worse than necessary…you understand that, right, darling? I had to understand your species and their capabilities.”
Monster felt cornered, and she wasn’t the one restrained to a table, unable to move.
“No, you didn’t have to know, it wasn’t your place. I didn’t do anything to deserve it.”
“Of course you didn’t, darling, but sometimes there are sacrifices made for science—for expanding knowledge. If my people understand yours, then relations can improve…isn’t that a small price to pay for the overall greater good?”
“I didn’t deserve this!” Monster screamed, and Scientist flinched back as far as she could. “Only you humans care so much about…about dissecting everything and ruining it so you can understand—can’t some things just be as it is? Does there have to be an explanation for everything?!” She breathed heavily, her blood boiling. “If you’re so smart, explain to me why you deserve to live—explain to me why I shouldn’t leave you here to starve.”
That, that, made Scientist look scared. “Monster, because you’re better than humans are. You’re smart, so you understand that every action has an equal reaction. I die, if I starve here, what are the humans who inevitably find me going to think about you and your species after this? Hmm?”
Monster stared at her.
This was another game of chess, she just has to think through it—she had to find a way to outsmart her captor once more.
She rummaged in run of the drawers for that liquid she always hated—the one that made her fall asleep. Sedative, she think Scientist called it once, in an attempt to keep Monster from flailing and screeching as the needle got closer to her skin.
“Monster? You aren’t allowed in there, you know that.” Scientist said, as if her authority mattered anymore. Though, her voice had a hint of worry stronger than it had a hint of firmness.
After another minute of looking, Monster found both the sedative and a syringe.
“If you can’t die here because your humans will think badly about it, I’ll take you with me, and you’ll face my species judgment system. It’s only fair since you’ve been scrutinizing me and my society under yours.”
Monster’s heart pounded as she began to fill it up—she would go home.
She plunged the needle into Scientist’s system, despite the other’s frantic and even tearful protests, and when she was knocked out…Monster stared a little while.
She knew what her specifies would do, if she was under trial.
Scientist certainly deserved it, but Monster still thought about the nice times—the little trinkets and comforts she allowed her to have in between the pain.
——
———
Scientist woke up on the ground.
Blearily, she realized there was something in her hands. She unfolded her fingers and both the empty syringe and a pawn gently rolled to the dirt.
She nearly laughed.
Monster had finally won.
To anybody who’s left an ask lately, thank you so much. I’ve been lagging behind lately and I’m sorry for the wait <3

Q.E.D. (ENG) [SAKAMAKI LAITO]
Tumblr media
Character : Sakamaki Laito CD : MORE CHARACTER SONG Vol.5 SAKAMAKI LAITO Seiyuu: Daisuke Hirakawa May: I prefer Q.E.D. to Bloody Sabbath. For the record: "Q.E.D" stands for quod erat demonstrandum, the Latin equivalent of "what had to be demonstrated"); quantum electrodynamics. This equates to the famous 'checkmate' for scientists in chess. And it serves as an absolute conclusion. So when Laito repeats this acronym, he's sure of what he's saying. Link to the song: here.
時が過ぎれば、過ぎるほど、劣化(あせ)ていく
Love dies only when growth stops
何もかもが顕(あらわ)になったなら、
あの日の熱量(おもい)が軽くなる?
As time passes, the more it expires, the more it fades
Love dies the moment its growth stops
If everything had to be laid bare, no matter the consequences
Would the warmth of my feelings on this day, diminish?
きっと、命は尽きるだろう だとしても、
この血は 継がれてく そんな淡い希望を抱き、
その身体(なか)へ放った結晶(あい)は
「……---意味がない」
Though my life would surely come to an end
Entertaining the fine hope given by this blood, will be relayed
The crystalline love that escapes from your body.
"…--- This makes no sense."
嗚呼 時が過ぎれば、
なんだって、代謝(いれかわ)るとしても
君を愛した証明が、何もないなんて
Ah, as time goes by,
Even if it would have been replaced,
There's no proof I ever really loved you,
「………言いたくないから」
"………… Because I didn't want to confess it."
どうせ、終わるんだから?
いつか、何もかも消える?

After all, it's all over, isn't it?
Over time, will it all fade away, no matter what happens?
De facto, without robbing us of our 'present' and tying the memories together,
While the bloodthirsty bite yearns for 'eternity',
If you tell me you want "Immortality."
We'll prove it, together.
Q.E.D……. !!!!!!!!!!!!!
死期が近づき、迫るほど 確信(み)えてくる
there is always light behind
誰もかもが、誰かに祈っている、
あの陽の残量(のこり)は僅かだね?
As the hour of death approaches, the nearer it comes, appearing,
There will always be a light behind it,
No matter who, everyone's praying to someone,
There are so few memories of this day, are there?
そっと、願いを捨てたとして だとしても
唇、重ねてる どこか残酷(あま)い時間は過ぎて、
この心(なか)に残った結晶(あい)は
「……---価値がない」
Even as we waited to slowly give up hope,
Your lips on mine again and again, that bittersweet taste fading somewhere,
Crystalline love disappearing beyond my heart.
"………. --- This is worthless."
ねぇ---………夢を見ようよ?
病んだって、見えざる日々がある
ふたり生きた証明が、紅く染まるなら
Hey---……….. Shouldn't we be dreaming?
That we'd get sick, of having to live days we won't live.
If the proof that we're both alive, was tinted red,
「………赦してよ」
"………….. Forgive me."
Q.
E.
D.---…………!!!!!
The tone expressed by the future tomorrow broke in your ear,
In your siphoned eardrum was left a dangerous carmine wish
As the continual whispers spread through "eternity".
If you pronounce your wish for "immortality",
Then we'll prove it, together,
Q.E.D. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
「永遠などないなら、この時を壊してしまいたい
そう、願ってた……」
"There's no such thing as "eternity." I want to destroy it…. At least, that's what I would have wished for."
こんな、想いばかりじゃ
生きた「ぬくもり」 喪失(わす)れ
どこか、曖昧になる
そんな事ばかりじゃない---……!
That lonely feeling,
Forgetting the warmth that would have lived,
Becoming somewhat vague,
It was not the only thing….!

DC Dimensions project plan: Deathstroke (Vol. 1)
Tumblr media
This series is not an assured project. It is a concept that can still be changed or scrapped.
Synopsis
Deathstroke has been attacked by a mercenary called Mourn. His family is targeted by Leviathan, a secret terrorist espionage group. Their leader hired Shadowspire, a group of ex-military mercenaries specialized to eliminate metahuman threats, to capture Deathstroke and his family.
Characters
Slade Wilson/Deathstroke - A mercenary and assassin for hire. He loves his family and will cross any line to protect them. As long as the cause is just, he will accept the contract.
Rose Wilson/Ravager - Slade's daughter through a Thai woman named Lalana. She is also a former Teen Titans member turned vigilante in Bangkok.
Joseph Wilson/Jericho - Slade's son with Adeline Kane. He is also a Checkmate spy with psychic powers. It allows him to enter people's minds and retrieve desired information just through eye contact. If the will is weak enough, he can even possess them.
Marcus Shaw/Leviathan - The leader of the terrorist organization Leviathan. His motive to target the Wilson family is unclear.
Anton Reiter/Baron Blitzkrieg - A Danish special intelligence officer and the head of Shadowspire. He is a nobleman of Germanic bloodline, using his wealth to found his ventures. To face Deathstroke, he wears a prototype combat armor stolen from A.R.G.U.S. with the purpose of countering metahuman powers. The armor it is equipped with energy shields, it enhances strength, and is nearly indestructible.
George/Mourn - An assassin working for Baron Reiter. He believes he is better than Deathstroke. In the past, he has taken the contracts that Deathstroke refuses because he does not share the same moral code.
Dr. James B. Prosser-Smith - A high-ranking scientist of Leviathan. He is also a friend of Marcus Shaw.
Other Information
Burn Gorman and Charlie Day are my fancasts for Leviathan and Prosser-Smith.
The main inspiration for this project was the animated film "Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons."
Dr. James Blake Prosser-Smith was named for a friend who died two years ago today (Mar. 25, 2022). Rest in peace Blake.
