So I actually liked the design of the Scorpius Rex and its roar is awesome but I never got how it actually differed from the Indominus.

Okay so it's uglier. It climbs and it's a bit more violent with how it kills. But I-Rex also killed for sport so?? How was Scorpius a failure but Indominus wasn't?

Wu makes a big deal in his video diary about how it's "docile one minute and aggressive the next", so I thought we'd get a scene where it's about to kill a camper and suddenly goes into playful & blissfully ignorant animal mode. Not like the Indoraptor playing dead and toying with its food, but genuinely just vibing with a human, making them suuuuper uncomfortable and terrified beyond belief, before it gets super defensive and violent at the snap of a twig or the blink of an eye. How damn scary and tense would that be?? I would have loved to see that! But they never utilise that. It just gets distracted by fire, or prioritises chasing down its rival Scorpius whenever it hears a distant roar. We never see it NOT being aggressive, so what was the point in that line?

Basically I think Scorpius is a cool idea but is never used in a way that's different than any of its successors. In terms of plot elements, it's just another Indominus. Another Toro. Another Rexy. Except it can climb and there's two of it. Oh yeah, and poison quills

Okay based on the trailer I would like to make some headcanons :3

- what I noticed was that Darius' first instinct when he heard a noise outside; that his first instinct was to immediately zap it, no thought about what it could be, he just used that zappy thing with no hesitation, and was genuinely surprised to see Ben.

- and it wasn't Ben's first time catching the rod either, you could see he wasn't phased at all, he just said like calmly "Hey Darius :]" so I like to think that Ben knows that Darius is scared and traumatised from the island, and he expects Darius to lash out with the rod, which is why he reacted so quickly.

📌 - also that Darius has like 394777 things set up to make noise if anything passes, like to get warned beforehand, you can really tell he's genuinely paranoid

- I feel like Isla Nublar ruined dinosaurs for him, yes, he still loves them. But he wasn't as paranoid about them as he is in Chaos theory, he admired them in camp cretaceous but now it just feels like he's scared, scared of whatever dinosaur there is. Even if it's little.

- why is Ben so tall (i personally LOVE his design but they could give him a fringe or something he looks like a dad 😭)

- DARIUS' FRECKLES. NO EXPLANATION NEEDED.

- Someone is hunting them, the conclusion I came up with is Kenji's dad, he was so pissed off that he got defeated by 6 teenagers. A millionaire with mind controlled Dinos.

- In conclusion I'd genuinely like chaos theory to focus more on Darius' issues, which I feel like were never really brought up in JWCC. Like yeah they brought up Ben's "death" and his dad's death, but they didn't bring up Kash, how he was forced to hurt both his friends and the animals he loves(d), how he was the leader at the ages of 12-13 and how he would do anything to get the others off the island. Yes I have my hopes up for benrius, but I genuinely hope that Darius gets to open up about how he feels, during and after the island.

The fact that Brooklynn posted a video on how to pick hotel room locks onto a web channel with around 27 million subscribers is wild to me.

Like, where were her parents? Was no one supervising or at least checking in on her and her channel?

It’s not like she was keeping her channel a secret from them, so either her parents knew about what she was posting and didn’t care or they just didn’t care enough to keep an eye on her channel to begin with and didn’t know about the video.

Pt. 2

Has become a pyromaniac, loves going to bonfires and is always burning small things he doesn't like. Keeps lighters/matches on him at all times.

Has a slight Sanrio addiction, but literally NOBODY other than Darius knows. (his favorite is Cinnamonroll, ofc.)

Forgot to mention this in the first one, but uses he/him, omnisexual, and cis.

His father is from the netherlands and his mother american, making ben dutch/american!!

Speaking of which, he has a crippling true crime addiction ever since JWCC. There has been multiple interventions.

Has a secret stash of snacks from the Netherlands that he literally lets NO ONE steal from.

It's always a love-hate relationship with newer fandoms. Allow me to explain.

I love joining new fandoms. Who doesn't? You increase your knowledge and join new communities. That's why I'm in a number of them (some I can't even say because I will get bullied for it 😅). It's a wonderful and amazing feeling, especially meeting new characters. In the latest one I've joined, I've had the opportunity to meet the lovely professor Layton and his apprentice, Luke, and other characters, but those 2 are, of course, special to me. The professor has become a comfort character for me. But anyway, I won't linger on that topic as I don't want to leave spoilers. It's always an amazing and warm feeling because you've lived through everything along with them. Your mind connects to it as if you were there and you form an attachment.

At least, that's how it's going for me.

But there's always a plot that happens during almost every Fandom. There are exceptions, but for the most part, in video games, books, TV, and some other places, there's a plot that impacts some of the characters. However, it also impacts you as you experience the characters' feelings and grief/anger/sadness/happiness/emotions secondhand.

Disappointingly, and I don't know if it's just me, I know I wrote this weirdly from the third person, but... it's sad. I have collected all the trauma from these characters and the sad endings, and the cliffhangers, and I've held onto them as if they were my own memories. And I can't get rid of them. They were a gift.

It's making me feel sad every time I experience a depressing point in a series, and I can't do anything about it because these are real feelings, but they are all for something, not in this world.

How am I supposed to accept that?

Wings of Fire, Lost Light, Mtmte, Tnmnt, Professor Layton, and even Camp Cretaceous (WHICH I HAVENT EVEN FINISHED BECAUSE IM LAZY).

How am I supposed to accept that these things don't exist and that I shouldn't be feeling this way about them?

It makes me think about how infinite this universe is and how there's infinitive possibilities for the universe. One of the reasons I latch onto new fandoms is because I recognize it as real. Somehow. Somewhere.

Time for me to rant about yasammy because they're cute and adorable and I can. Okay so honestly I've been shipping them from the beginning, but when Yaz ran across the entire island just to get Sammy to cure I almost cried. And I really loved how Yaz came out, she understood that she didn't understand everything and that to Ben. And when Ben was trying to help get them together that was absolutely amazing. And for those few people who don't think Yaz and Sammy are one of the cutest couples I have only one question for you. Have your SO ever ran across an entire dinosaur infested island with a still injured leg? Yeah though so, now back to my rant. It was absolutely adorable how nervous Yaz was when she was telling Sammy how she felt. But she was also so confident, like I could never. And I just knew Yaz would be the majorly flirty type when they got together. And I love how everyone was just so happy for them, like they've been shipping it just as much as we have. And I love how they love each others quirks no matter what. They are just overall one of the cutest couples I've ever seen. And the fact that she's staying in Texas with Sammy's family just makes everything better. Also you can not convince me that they don't always introduce themselves as "oh yeah that's the love of my life Yaz, and I'm Sammy." Also, Sammy definitely fell first. And I just know that Yaz is the protective type, but also knows Sammy can take care of herself. And a hundred percent is the type of person who would want to be by her gf at every moment lol. They are just so adorable and they deserve a happily ever after.

Why Scorpios rex didn't work in camp cretaceous.

So, the Scorpios rex. I like it! But to be honest, it really didn't work in camp cretaceous, (for me at least) and I think I know why. It's because 1 it is in a show where they are too scared to show true death. And 2 its in a point in the show where NO ONE EXCEPT FOR THE MAIN KIDS (who have plot armor) ARE ON THE ISLAND. It can't get any great human kills like the other hybrids and so feels underwhelming in most of the scenes where the kids are in "danger." But I will give it this, it managed to INJURE one of the main characters, and i do like its design and concept. But still, imagine if it was in a LIVE ACTION Jurassic park movie? All the great kills it could've had, but no. It got stuck in Netflix.

Did someone mention Jurassic Park? Have you seen Camp Cretaceous? It is such a better sequel to Jurassic World than Fallen Kingdom or Dominion (In my personal opinion, like Fallen Kingdom was fine but the character development in Dominion didn't follow from either of the previous movies, you're ask box isn't necessarily the place for this rant though)

I haven’t seen much Jurassic park actually, only the original and the first reboot.

Despite them being inaccurate, 03 has probably watched them all and has 200 page documents analysing each of them and correcting the inaccuracies (and maybe 3000 words or so dedicated to how cool a T. rex is). Even if the movie is bad he still watches it out of “loyalty to the dinosaurs”

Ok, don't get me wrong, I love the family reunions. But they felt slightly rushed.

It would have been nice to see Sammy's siblings and the others she mentioned during her time in the show. Having only one of each of their parents coming really doesn't work for Brooklyne or Sammy, considering we know they have more family than that.

With Yaz and Ben I guess you could assume they just don't have dads that are in their lives or something (I still love the idea of Ben having 2 mums-) but like even though I loved the ending for Camp Cretaceous, having a proper goodbye for the campers should have been there in my opinion and having their families actually come and see them after they were alone on a island and presumed dead for 6 months also just makes sense.

Also the future designs, I will never stop talking about them till the day I die. Sammy is still wearing the same shirt and, while I have warmed up to the idea of shaggy Ben, he looked nothing like Ben. At all.

Also I think some look the wrong age. idk if that's just me but Yaz, Sammy and possibly Brooklyne looked the same age as they did in most of the show, Darius looked about 16-17 when he was supposed to look 14 and Ben looked like he was well into his 20's.

The only one that looked kinda right was Kenji. (in my opinion anyway.)

These two characters are supposed to be the same age in these two pictures- Darius looks wayyyy older.

In my opinion the only characters they tried to make look good were Kenji, Darius and Brooklyn.

(Even if they are more main characters than the others it still annoys me-)

Camp Cretaceous Season 5

Just finished watching and I gotta say that I really enjoyed this season and the series. It’s a fun ride I’d probably rewatch again.

I do love I got to see more of the JP3 Spino, he was great as always and I’m so happy that we were shown him one last time, since I was disappointed by his absence in the movies. Looking back at how horrible the Jurassic World series is (IMO), I’m sure it was a good thing Camp Cretaceous handled him instead. We all know how the Giga was treated like shit for no reason in Dominion. It was for the best they didn’t have their grubby hands on Speeno.

Anyway, I’m sure I’ll have more to say for our favorite Spino boi in a few weeks, when I’m not worried about spoilers. I’m just SOOO glad he wasn’t treated as revenge-fodder for the t-rex fanbois to drool over and was given the strength and respect he deserves. Thanks, Universal, for respecting both the spino and the rex fans without throwing out the established lore of spino being the strongest non-hybrid carnivore around!

Also got to see Toro the Carnotaurus again, and the Baryonyx duo from Season 2, loved them! And more dilos, can’t go wrong with that! Anyway, even got to see another favorite prehistoric reptile (NOT DINOSAUR) of mine in this season with the Nothosaurus. Never thought I’d see a childhood favorite being represented in the media outside of documentaries. Seal-lizard needs more love!

Of course, there’s some things about this season that bothers my animal person side (like herbivores being portrayed as harmless) and the over-anthropomorphism of the dinosaurs. And poor Ceratosaurus is still having bad things happen to it, but at this point, I’m not going to say anymore of that, I had that rant already in a previous post. But my gripes are vastly outweighed by the stuff I love.

Then again, I’m still in my honeymoon phase for this series. We’ll see if my feelings still hold up when that initial excitement fades away to my usual critical self, ha.

Okay so my family and I all watch Camp Cretaceous together and my younger brother especially loves it because he loves all of the Jurrassic Park movies. He's eleven and my parents gatekeep a lot of things from him for Christian reasons. That includes anything that has to do with LGBTQ people. If you watch Camp Cretaceous I suppose this is spoilers so don't read further.

Anyway, they made canon Sammy and Yaz's relationship, a big win. But not to my parents. We've already watched four seasons and we want to see how it ends. However, I'm afraid that once my mom finds out it has a wlw couple in it she'll call it quits (she always checks this Christian blog before every movie or show we watch to see what curse words, sex scenes, or LGBTQ subjects are in it). My younger brother won't understand this at all because they refuse to tell him anything about the LGBTQ community. When Light-year came out my brother really wanted to see it but after mom found out it had a wlw couple in it she said we couldn't and wouldn't explain to him why. He was really upset about it. I don't want my parents to do this to him (especially since it's a show he's really really invested in) because at this point he's old enough to learn and they should be able to accept that LGBTQ people are apart of this world and there's no getting away from it. You can't hide your son away from it because he's gonna find out at some point. In this day and age you can't just pretend it's not there because it is. In public you are going to see wlw and mlm couples holding hands and kissing. You are going to see trans people going about their day. You are going to see masculine people in dresses and feminine clothing. You are going to meet people who will ask you to use they/them pronouns. They need to face that.

Maybe my mom is scared because I questioned my sexuality for a short time (as far as she knows, Im straight, but honestly I'm bi-curious). I think she believes that I questioned it because of Instagram, shows, and other media, or because of my friends (all of which you have settled in some part of the LGBTQ community or have questioned at some time). She's afraid that my brother will do the same and question whether he likes men. But honestly you're just prolonging the inevitable. I feel like in this day and age everyone's going to have a point where they're going to question who they like. If it's not today, it'll be another day. So why not let him watch a damn show with a wlw couple in it? Its not as if the show is going to be flaunting it anyway, as much as I wish they did because I know representation is important. I'm really just ranting because I've been thinking about this ever since I've caught on to the hints at Sammy and Yaz's relationship and I'm really tired of my Christian parents trying to gatekeep stuff they think is sinful but really is just everyday life.

Ben Pincus Headcannons

Personally believes he has the best music taste out of the Nublar Six; listens to Marina, TV Girl, The Neighbourhood, Artic Monkeys, Mitski, McCafferty, The Smiths, Destroy Boys, Cavetown, and The Front Bottoms.

His mother is an interior designer and mostly picked out all the pieces in his room, but after the camp he wanted to add his own flair (aka, his room could now be considered a jungle w/ the amount of plants.)

Has autism, OCD, and PTSD. (And insomnia but shhhh)

Is a loyal vegetarian, has been for almost a third of his life.

Was never a big movie person until after the camp; loves using Discord to have watch parties with Darius, Kenji, and Yasmina. He hasn't been the choice to pick the movies for a while though, is a film snob and typically picks the worst ones.

Still loves to read, but has now branched out to fantasy and angsty novels (with the occasional romance.)

Can sing like an angel, but doesn't very often. However, he does rock karaoke nights.

At night, he usually goes on calls with Darius until his voice lulls him to sleep, as it's the only thing that helps. (They're boyfriends, your honor)

I like to imagine his mother grew up with goth music, and consequently, he only knows goth dance moves. Can never dance without petting wolves and plucking cobwebs. It's hilarious to watch, tbh.

Is a math kid; takes many AP classes and is always in an advanced math class. However, history and literature are his worst subjects.

Him and his father aren't on speaking terms anymore necessarily, but he still remembers when he was a little kid and he watched his father paint. That's why he likes art now. </3
